[00:00:45] [SPEAKER_00]: A Comic Conversation!

[00:00:49] [SPEAKER_07]: We talked with ComicBook.com journalist and podcaster Matt Aguilar about his background in journalism, his origin story, and just kind of nerd out on all of his fun. So get your character sheets and dice ready, start your recorders, and take your oath to the Green Lantern Corps. It's...

[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_00]: A Comic Conversation!

[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_08]: All right, Rick, you guys ready? Matt has been writing and talking about the geek industry for years, formerly with Geek Tyrant. Now he writes for ComicBook.com about comics, tabletops, toys, cosplay, wrestling, and has an addiction to Funko Pops and questionable music choices. The rumor is if you bring him gummy bears, he will write nice things about you, though not sure where that rumor has started.

[00:01:32] [SPEAKER_08]: Everybody, please welcome the incredible, from ComicBook.com, Matt Aguilar!

[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, what's up, everybody? Oh, man, I love the sound effect, by the way. That ruled.

[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_04]: What's up, Matt?

[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_04]: We need one of those for the show. Man, that is awesome. How are you guys?

[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_06]: No, man, how are you? Look at that room.

[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_07]: All the kids know that you're there, right? Just, you know, a grunt just got shot in the head and everybody's happy.

[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I need to walk around with one of those for like a self-esteem booster out there. That would be amazing.

[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Bill just lets the kids out of the closet just for that sound effect every once in a while.

[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_02]: They shoves it back in.

[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_02]: We leveled up.

[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, that's one of my favorites. Oh, that's so good.

[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_08]: The most gratifying sound in the world. Ever.

[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_04]: That was my ringtone for like two years. Until you met girls, you know what I mean?

[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, even after girls. Even after girls. That is amazing. Yeah. I still play that for my wife sometimes.

[00:02:28] [SPEAKER_04]: He's like, oh, what does that do with anything? It's like, I don't know.

[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_08]: I put the groceries away.

[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, man. Matt, it's great to have you on the show, man.

[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_07]: So so we're in the middle of doing a bracket right now. Right. We're doing a best.

[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_07]: Well, other Matt graveyard. Explain. Explain what we're doing here.

[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_02]: We're doing the ultimate superhero bracket. So we're saying who's the not who's going to win in a fight, but who would win?

[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Who's the better hero? So we have one side that is heroes and they're separate in the two regions.

[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_02]: And the other side is villains. Who's the better villain when we get to that?

[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, so we eliminated. Let me. I'll catch you up.

[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I was gonna say, give him a recap real quick.

[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. So it was Batman versus the thing. Batman one. That's a better hero.

[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_07]: The whole room versus Bruce Wayne. Right. Come on. Yeah.

[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_02]: The Hulk versus Iron Man. Iron Man's a better hero.

[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_02]: He said the Flash versus Thor. We said Thor is a better here.

[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, that's interesting. The hard one. Yeah. And the ultimate thing on this is who is the better hero?

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_07]: So not like, you know, who's the better character? Who's better written?

[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_07]: Who who'd win the fight? It's who is the better hero?

[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_07]: Which flash we went? I think we went with Barry Allen on it. Yeah, we went Barry Allen and Thor one.

[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Thor one. Good call.

[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause Barry sucks.

[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_07]: What it came down to when I, when I started talking about this, when, when I started making the arguments was a flashpoint happened because Barry had a self had a selfish moment.

[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_07]: So it was like, you know, like, like the entire universe imploded because Barry Allen wanted his mom back.

[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you know, yeah, I, I just always just found Barry. So like, not as interesting as Wally. Like Wally's just so, oh, it's such a great character. So yeah, no, that's, that's good so far. Yeah.

[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_02]: That's all. He's my favorite, is my favorite. All right. And then Wolverine versus Green Lantern.

[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_02]: We said either Hal or John and Green Lantern one.

[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_04]: So I have to say, by the way, I heard that discussion and I have to give, it is so nice for Green Lantern to get some respect.

[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I was very happy with the like conversation that flowed and everything. It was nice. I was like, if Wolverine wins this just because of the category, it's just because of the category. I'm going to be pissed.

[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_04]: It was perfect. It was wonderful.

[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_07]: You heard my argument. Like, like, like, like Logan is a villain any, in, in, in, in any way, aside from the fact that he's with the X-Men.

[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, pretty much. Yeah.

[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_08]: He's only there for, to get a piece of Jean Grey. You know what I mean? Other than that. Aren't we all?

[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_07]: Aren't we all?

[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_07]: Another reason that he's because he just wants to bang Jean. That's all it is. Yeah.

[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah. So are, so you hear, did you hear anything after that then too? No.

[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_02]: So I, I had to, I was writing a wrestling article.

[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_02]: What was the wrestling? Oh, so then we went Batman versus Iron Man. And we said, Iron Man is a better hero.

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_07]: Okay. So again, Bruce, Batman is my favorite character of all time. I had to vote for, for, for Tony Stark ultimately on this because Bruce, again, he, he kind of creates more villainy and Gotham truly isn't better because he's there.

[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Man. That's a, that's hard though, because here's the thing I wouldn't say that's a really, but that's a really interesting comparison.

[00:05:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I, it took me a long time to not loathe Iron Man. And I'm still kind of on the fence sometimes about it. Cause civil war like tainted the character forever. Like Captain America side was purely right.

[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And like, I don't know why people sided with him, but I will say, you know, Stark tech has like started a lot of wars. There's a lot of weaponry just like sitting out there.

[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, Bruce does that too. Sometimes inadvertently, but like he didn't make missiles. Like, I don't know. Like it was always, there's always a little, there's always a little bit of that, you know? And like, ultimately Iron Man kind of feels like he, he more like fell into heroism. Whereas Bruce sought it out to keep the pain. He suffered away from others.

[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Right. I don't know, but very altruistic. Yeah. If slightly, you know, morbid, but like very altruistic motives there. Oh man, that's hard. I can't argue with it.

[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_04]: That was one of the arguments he did make.

[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I argue Iron Man because his ultimate goal is to have no crime. So no one else has to be a hero.

[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_02]: That's true.

[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_02]: While Bruce brings people on and continues to say that we'll never stop.

[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_02]: True. That's a good point. Very good point.

[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_07]: Bruce, one of the, one of the points that I made is that, that the problem with Bruce Wayne specifically is like, you look at his, uh, at his quote unquote wards. Right. And, and like, look at his relationship with Dick, right? Like Dick hates his guts, but still helps him. Right. Like Dick, when he becomes Nightwing, at least, you know, then it's like, you know, like he, he strives to be the opposite of Bruce Wayne. Right. Um, we, we brought up the argument about, um, about Damien and kind of like, oh yeah, well he brought his son into it was like, yeah, but he made Damien a better person though.

[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_07]: And that's, that's, that's kind of the opposite, uh, argument that we've been making with everyone else.

[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_07]: It's true. Yeah. Because he did make Damien a better person and Damien made him a better person.

[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Like Damien would have been a legit assassin if Bruce had like taken him under his wing.

[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Right. Damien's job was to kill Bruce.

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Like that's, you know, yeah. Like he's definitely shepherded him.

[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I will say a lot of the other bat family have like sought it out more than he like recruited them in a way.

[00:07:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, if you look at like the broader ones, like spoiler and Huntress and, um, even Tim Drake to a degree, like there's a lot of like Jason Todd, not so much obviously, but like, you know, some of those other ones, like, you know, kind of like, I don't know.

[00:07:30] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like a weird kind of blind. Like they weren't like, oh, I just took them in and like turned them into a soldier. You know, even Barbara, they all volunteered.

[00:07:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Like they were kind of, they were mutually benefiting each other to a degree, you know? So it's, yeah, but it's a good argument.

[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, Bill here. I'll become your ward. Oh, what's that? You want me to fight for you? Sure. You give me all this stuff. Might as well.

[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_08]: I know I get a cape and an Xbox. Uh, okay. Yeah. I need more child soldiers and I'm not going to go to Somalia. So you're the best, next best thing.

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_07]: You know, I get a lot of pull. It's a, it's a, it's effective. It's an effective recruitment.

[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll give you an explanation. So who was, uh, who was next? But then it was, uh, Green Lantern versus Thor. Uh, we said Green Lantern is a close one.

[00:08:18] [SPEAKER_07]: So then we're at the final region. I would say Thor's too much of a narcissist to move on further, especially when you go against any Green Lantern.

[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_07]: The Green Lanterns are chosen specifically because they are pure of heart and they have willpower. So it's like, you know, they are built to be heroes.

[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. But you can also, all your Thor eventually learn from, has learned over his age and has become a better hero.

[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_02]: True. Very true.

[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_07]: But I mean, ultimately when you, when you think of like everything about those characters and the ultimate, just where they stand as heroes, the Green Lanterns are always better heroes on par.

[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, look, I can't, I can't argue with that.

[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's, I think that's so eloquently said, you know?

[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_02]: All right. So that leaves us to, this is where we need all our votes. Iron Man versus Green Lantern.

[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I think, I think for, as you went Green Lantern versus James as well, right?

[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't remember anymore. I went, I went Green Lantern.

[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, James, you can recast your vote then.

[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_08]: Okay. Dude, what did, what did Tyler vote for? Green Lantern?

[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_08]: Uh, I want to go Green Lantern, but, uh.

[00:09:17] [SPEAKER_07]: But if Tyler voted for Green Lantern, I can't vote for Green Lantern.

[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll have to hold off for you. I'm voting, I said, it's, it's probably because I don't know as much about Green Lantern because I'm more Marvel leaning.

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_08]: Why don't we say this? It's completely tied and Matt is the tiebreaker.

[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_08]: Let's do it.

[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_08]: Yes.

[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, everybody knows where I'm voting. It's Green Lantern.

[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_03]: There it is.

[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.

[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Winner, chicken dinner.

[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Winner, yes.

[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_02]: All right. So that's our reason then.

[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_07]: That is going to be where we're going to end the bracket for today because we've got a whole bunch of fun things that we're going to, that we want to find out about Matt here.

[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm so excited.

[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_07]: He likes Green Lantern. I know that.

[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_07]: I know. Yeah.

[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_04]: That wasn't readily apparent.

[00:09:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. I'm a huge narrator.

[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_04]: It's just, it's just very like underrepresented, underrepresented part of the DCU.

[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I adore.

[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_07]: I've got to ask you this then.

[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_07]: Who's your favorite Green Lantern?

[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, Kyle Rayner.

[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, we're, we're on the same page.

[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_07]: Kyle Rayner's easily my favorite Green Lantern.

[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_04]: He's the, and I, and there's a lot of them I, I, I love, you know, I mean, I'm a, I'm also like a sucker for like all the weirdo lanterns.

[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, look, it's a, you know, there's a lantern that's a squirrel, right? Like Chip.

[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I adore Chip.

[00:10:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Chip needs his own show.

[00:10:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Mogo's awesome.

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, Salak's awesome.

[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Soren Ignatu, I love that character.

[00:10:27] [SPEAKER_04]: And I love some of the newer characters too, like Simon Baz, Jessica Cruz.

[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Simon Baz is actually really good, man.

[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_04]: He started out as a very like ham fisted attempt at a, at a, like a relevant character.

[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And then he became awesome.

[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Like when, when like people start forcing it and they just let him be him and then just like let all the other stuff be part of him.

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_04]: He's, he's awesome.

[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_04]: He, he went from being the lantern with a gun to like a really cool, well thought out character.

[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And he's, he's super cool.

[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, like there's so many to the universe.

[00:10:56] [SPEAKER_04]: And look, I know I get a lot of, I'm not the biggest how guy.

[00:10:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I get so much, like, I've just never been a big how guy.

[00:11:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I like John, I like guy.

[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_04]: But Kyle's the one like that, that whole, his whole storyline of becoming a lantern is actually what really in a way kind of got me back in the comics in a, in a huge way, like going to the store on a regular basis and stuff like that.

[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_04]: So always a lot of love for, for Kyle.

[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_07]: I mean, Kyle being that he's like, again, I always gravitate towards Latino characters just because there's not very many of us.

[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_07]: And, and Kyle Rainer being half was a big deal to me.

[00:11:30] [SPEAKER_07]: So that's what kind of like, it was like, Oh, there's a half Latino character.

[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_07]: Let me go find out more about him.

[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_07]: He's bad-ass dude.

[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_07]: He's super sick.

[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, and he's an artist, right?

[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's like he writers would always, you know, especially like Ron Mars, but like even the writers over the years have taken over, have done so much cool stuff with him because he's an artist.

[00:11:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean like Tower of Babel, they blind him and he's still able to like be awesome.

[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, there's just, there's just so many cool things to that character.

[00:11:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Plus he's fun.

[00:11:54] [SPEAKER_04]: His costume always, I always loved that weird mask he had.

[00:11:57] [SPEAKER_04]: And I love that they brought it back because like, you know, now it's, now it's cool for a while.

[00:12:01] [SPEAKER_04]: It was like, what the hell is that?

[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_04]: But like, it's, it's cool now.

[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, but yeah, he's just, he's just awesome.

[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I love the lanterns.

[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_07]: And then when he became Ion, it was like another big deal.

[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh yes.

[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh man.

[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And then when he came, look, I love the Hope Corps.

[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm a blue, I love the Hope Corps and just like everything they represent and the colors are dope.

[00:12:17] [SPEAKER_04]: So when he became like a blue lantern, please, please, it's awesome.

[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you know, if they had like a Golden Girls Lantern Corps, it'd be like the best thing.

[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_04]: But like, if they don't have that blue, it's just short of that.

[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like Golden Girls Lantern Corps.

[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I'm just putting it out to the universe.

[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I want that to happen.

[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_04]: So thank you for being a lantern.

[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, it is.

[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_04]: There it is.

[00:12:38] [SPEAKER_04]: You have a lantern named Stan.

[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's write something.

[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_07]: And Stan would have to be like, you know, like he's somehow a lantern, but he just keeps on trying to sell everybody on these weird, you know, novelties that everybody's just like, I don't want to buy your novelties, man.

[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, yes.

[00:12:55] [SPEAKER_04]: And his toupee is a different color every time he shows up at a page.

[00:12:59] [SPEAKER_04]: This is gold.

[00:13:00] [SPEAKER_04]: This is gold.

[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_08]: Right above where I'm at right now.

[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_08]: His hair color changes with whatever ring he's wearing.

[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_08]: Yes.

[00:13:08] Brilliant.

[00:13:08] [SPEAKER_07]: Right above where I'm at right now because I can't pull the camera up here, but I have a whole collection of Golden Girl Funko Pops.

[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_07]: It's amazing.

[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I do have the Golden Girls Blue game, just so you know.

[00:13:21] [SPEAKER_02]: It's who ate the last piece of cheesecake.

[00:13:24] [SPEAKER_02]: It's so fun.

[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_02]: It's Rose every time.

[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I eat that stuff.

[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Every time.

[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_02]: No, no.

[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_07]: It's definitely not Rose.

[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_07]: It's who ate the last piece of cheesecake.

[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_07]: It's going to be Blanche every time.

[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_07]: It's going to be Blanche.

[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, yeah.

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_07]: I respect it.

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_08]: That's awesome.

[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_08]: That's awesome.

[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_08]: Okay, let's get into some interview stuff.

[00:13:40] [SPEAKER_08]: Otherwise, you guys are going to Golden Girl geek out the entire night.

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_08]: Love a Golden Girl shower.

[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_03]: I've never been accused of that ever, of derailing a show or derailing an interview.

[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, welcome to our show.

[00:13:51] [SPEAKER_08]: There are no rails.

[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_08]: Hey, real quick, though.

[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_08]: I just want to throw it out there.

[00:13:56] [SPEAKER_08]: Shout out to Jerry the King Lawler.

[00:13:57] [SPEAKER_08]: I saw you wrote the article about him earlier.

[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_08]: You know, he suffered.

[00:14:01] [SPEAKER_08]: Are they calling it a massive stroke or heart attack or something?

[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, they're calling it a pretty heavy stroke.

[00:14:06] [SPEAKER_04]: But it's awesome that he's already on the way to recovering speech and recovering feeling in his hands and stuff.

[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And he's actually headed.

[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_04]: The latest report was that he's headed home for outpatient rehab.

[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_04]: So that's a great sign.

[00:14:21] [SPEAKER_04]: He's not in ICU anymore.

[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_04]: So that's awesome.

[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah, all the thoughts and love out there to him.

[00:14:26] [SPEAKER_07]: Love and prayers.

[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_07]: I was seeing that earlier on Instagram.

[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_07]: They were posting pictures of, I think it was him and his son, right?

[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, him and his son.

[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And then, like, Jimmy Hart was there.

[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And, oh, my God, Dutch Mantel was there with him, too.

[00:14:40] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's awesome.

[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_04]: They all kind of showed up for him.

[00:14:42] [SPEAKER_04]: It was great.

[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_04]: That's awesome.

[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_08]: So real quick, shout out to him.

[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_08]: I think he's in Florida now.

[00:14:46] [SPEAKER_08]: Hey, Forrest, go check up on Jerry the King Lawler Forrest in Florida.

[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, no problem.

[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_05]: Should I take him some of JR's barbecue sauce, too?

[00:14:53] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm sure he has some.

[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I was going to say, he's probably got an endless supply.

[00:14:58] [SPEAKER_08]: Okay, before I get into all the comicbook.com stuff, let's learn a little bit about you, Matt.

[00:15:04] [SPEAKER_08]: What is something that people are nerding out on or obsessed with that you just don't understand or you just don't get it?

[00:15:12] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, man.

[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_08]: Besides Hal Jordan.

[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_08]: It's a loaded question.

[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_08]: It is.

[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a really good question, though.

[00:15:18] [SPEAKER_04]: But, man, what is...

[00:15:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so I would...

[00:15:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Man, overall, I don't feel like that's a lazy answer for me.

[00:15:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I want to think harder about that.

[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Because I would say, for a long time, it was actually Game of Thrones.

[00:15:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I just never...

[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_04]: And it wasn't that I wasn't into it.

[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_04]: It's that I just never read the books.

[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I never...

[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_04]: By the time I really thought about watching the show, it had already gone off for so long that I was like, I'll just wait until it's done and watch it.

[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's why I started with House of Dragon.

[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_04]: And I really enjoyed it.

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's kind of been my intro.

[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_04]: So before that show, it was bad.

[00:15:51] [SPEAKER_07]: So you just started watching it?

[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah.

[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I just started watching it.

[00:15:54] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was like, oh, is this what everyone's been talking about forever?

[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_04]: This is good, right?

[00:15:58] [SPEAKER_04]: But I just never watched the other show.

[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I will say...

[00:16:02] [SPEAKER_08]: Spoiler alert.

[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_08]: Ned Stark dies.

[00:16:05] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know if he knows that for you.

[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_04]: There are thrones.

[00:16:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm so like...

[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not immune to spoilers because there still are spoilers that probably I would be bummed.

[00:16:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's mostly video games.

[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Because you invest so much time in them.

[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_04]: And there are some games that I haven't gotten around to yet that I still don't know how they end.

[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Because I always put that in the back of my head.

[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, one day, I'll get to it.

[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_04]: But as far as like...

[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_04]: So let me tell you how the end of Last of Us happened.

[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I played that one.

[00:16:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I played that one.

[00:16:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Though there was a side rant.

[00:16:36] [SPEAKER_04]: There was someone on our gaming team that unfortunately had Red Dead Redemption spoiled for them.

[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_04]: After like being in the world for like...

[00:16:45] [SPEAKER_04]: So like they had played...

[00:16:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I want to say they had played like above 10 hours.

[00:16:48] [SPEAKER_04]: So like they were invested.

[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_04]: It might have even been 20.

[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_04]: So they were invested.

[00:16:52] [SPEAKER_04]: And then like someone just dropped like how the ending was.

[00:16:54] [SPEAKER_04]: And it was like someone in the office.

[00:16:56] [SPEAKER_04]: It was like one of us.

[00:16:58] [SPEAKER_04]: And they just dropped it.

[00:16:59] [SPEAKER_04]: And he was like, are you kidding me?

[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Like he was so annoyed.

[00:17:03] [SPEAKER_03]: I felt bad.

[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_07]: Did they drop like a specific ending that he was trying to get?

[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_07]: Or did they like...

[00:17:09] [SPEAKER_04]: No, they just dropped the whole...

[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Like the whole main like part about like how...

[00:17:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I don't want to spoil it in case someone's...

[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Right, right, right.

[00:17:16] [SPEAKER_04]: But like essentially like a huge...

[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, like what happens to the character?

[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_04]: How it all plays out?

[00:17:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Like they just kind of like word vomit.

[00:17:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Like word vomit at all.

[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_07]: So what happens like halfway through the game?

[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_07]: Like or like...

[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_07]: Because that kind of like...

[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, exactly.

[00:17:29] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, that part.

[00:17:30] [SPEAKER_07]: So like...

[00:17:31] [SPEAKER_07]: That's not the only thing you don't want to get spoiled to you.

[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_07]: It happens like 50% into the game.

[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_07]: But it's such a big reveal.

[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's set like the whole second part is different.

[00:17:38] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what I mean?

[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Because it like recontextualizes everything.

[00:17:40] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah.

[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_04]: But like right now...

[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Man, I don't know if there's something that like I don't get.

[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I will say right now the only thing that I'm just like...

[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like completely out of the loop on is Star Trek.

[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's not that people haven't like told me things to try.

[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I've been...

[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I know the new show on Paramount Plus.

[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Is it new?

[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Starge.

[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_04]: No, the other one.

[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_04]: No, Discovery.

[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Discovery?

[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_04]: The other new one.

[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_04]: The like new front...

[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Not New Frontiers.

[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my God.

[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm blanking on the name of it.

[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_04]: But it's the one about Pike and like his team.

[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And like...

[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_04]: That's the one.

[00:18:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:18:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[00:18:14] [SPEAKER_04]: So that one...

[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Like people tell me...

[00:18:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Kofi has been telling me for forever.

[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I need to try this show.

[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_04]: The show's probably right up my alley.

[00:18:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I've just never been like a giant Star Trek fan.

[00:18:23] [SPEAKER_04]: And the only one I ever liked was...

[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Or really got into, I will say, is The Next Generation.

[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_04]: And I liked it.

[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_04]: But like I just never got into...

[00:18:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I just...

[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_04]: It could never suck me in like some of these other things.

[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Like Star Wars and you know Marvel and DC and so many other things.

[00:18:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Right?

[00:18:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Witcher.

[00:18:38] [SPEAKER_04]: But like that one just never did it for me.

[00:18:40] [SPEAKER_04]: So like when people talk about it so passionately, I wish I felt that way.

[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not like I dislike them for liking it.

[00:18:46] [SPEAKER_04]: But I wish I felt that way.

[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_04]: So that's as close as I get right now.

[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_08]: Gotcha.

[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_08]: That makes sense.

[00:18:50] [SPEAKER_08]: James' thing is TikTok.

[00:18:51] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.

[00:18:51] [SPEAKER_08]: I was going to say, my usual answer is TikTok.

[00:18:53] [SPEAKER_08]: Like I'm too old for TikTok.

[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_08]: That's what it is.

[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Now a bunch of people have explained NFTs to me.

[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I've been explained NFTs and how it works like five times.

[00:19:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And like I'm two years old.

[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I still don't get it.

[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I still...

[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I just don't understand it.

[00:19:04] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like...

[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's not even like...

[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like, I tried, man.

[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't even know where to start.

[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm good.

[00:19:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't...

[00:19:10] [SPEAKER_04]: The Uncanny Valley.

[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I just don't get it.

[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_04]: But that's me.

[00:19:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe that's the biggest thing right now.

[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't actually...

[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_07]: You can answer.

[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_07]: Most people say NFTs and in crypto.

[00:19:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:19:18] [SPEAKER_07]: Are NFTs still a thing?

[00:19:19] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't even know anymore.

[00:19:20] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know.

[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_08]: I keep getting emails about them.

[00:19:22] [SPEAKER_04]: So someone's got to be buying them because I still get like web free, blockchain.

[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Like those are the terms I know.

[00:19:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that's it.

[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I'm a grandmother on Facebook when it comes to NFTs.

[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I know the terms and I know nothing about anything that makes them up.

[00:19:36] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, someone's buying them.

[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Someone's using them.

[00:19:39] [SPEAKER_04]: But it's me.

[00:19:40] [SPEAKER_08]: That's funny.

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_08]: That's funny.

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_08]: Okay.

[00:19:42] [SPEAKER_08]: We have a segment on our show called Growing Up Geeky.

[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_08]: What did you geek out on when you were a kid?

[00:19:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, probably the first big things I can remember.

[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the animated series was huge for me.

[00:19:54] [SPEAKER_04]: That was one of my favorite shows.

[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_07]: I've got a surprise for you later then.

[00:19:58] Oh.

[00:19:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_04]: It's an NFT of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, damn it.

[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm going to send you an NFT of Raphael.

[00:20:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's still Raphael.

[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_04]: So at least it's not like Baxter Stockman or something.

[00:20:15] [SPEAKER_04]: No shade to Baxter Stockman fans.

[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know why I just shaded them for no reason.

[00:20:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, big shade.

[00:20:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't hate Baxter Stockman.

[00:20:20] [SPEAKER_07]: What is Baxter Stockman?

[00:20:22] [SPEAKER_07]: What did he do to me?

[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I will say, obviously, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, huge in my world.

[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I adored that show.

[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_04]: X-Men the Animated Series.

[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, Batman the Animated Series.

[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, those were all tent pulls for me.

[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Biker Mice from Mars.

[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I adored.

[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_08]: There you go.

[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Such a great Joe.

[00:20:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's coming back.

[00:20:42] [SPEAKER_04]: How's that?

[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's coming back.

[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_04]: It's got, like, a new Animated Series and everything.

[00:20:47] [SPEAKER_04]: So, like, super stoked for that.

[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_07]: You don't know if Rob Paulson's coming back and playing Throttle.

[00:20:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I hope.

[00:20:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't remember seeing anything about who they cast as voices.

[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_04]: But, like, you know, I'm always a sucker for, like, going back to the – if you can,

[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_04]: go back to the originals.

[00:21:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I know, obviously, sometimes you can't.

[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, James Earl Jones, you know, hanging up Darth, you know, like Mark Hamill not doing

[00:21:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Joker.

[00:21:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I understand at some point they just get tired of it, but if you can make it happen,

[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_04]: great.

[00:21:11] [SPEAKER_04]: But, yeah.

[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And then – so, like, those were, like, the big, you know, toy.

[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_04]: My mom tells me I was huge into He-Man when I was younger.

[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't – like, it's one of those that's kind of, like, the faintest of memories.

[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I remember some of it, but I don't remember, like, kind of being a huge Die Hard

[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_04]: fan.

[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_04]: But evidently, I had all the toys.

[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_04]: And then on the comic side, yeah, it was, like, characters like, you know, Superman

[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_04]: and Spider-Man.

[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, those were the big ones for me.

[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah, I mean, that was pretty much – I think that covers most of my geeky stuff back

[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_04]: then when I, like, really kind of – when I discovered I was a nerd.

[00:21:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that, yeah.

[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_08]: So, pretty much everything 90s.

[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, yeah.

[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_08]: You're, like, just soaking it all up.

[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_08]: Do you remember your first comic book since you work at comicbook.com?

[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_04]: So, my first – so, I remember my first – so, the first book I read or the first

[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_04]: book I bought?

[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_08]: How about both?

[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_04]: The first books I ever read – well, actually, I think the first – and how long ago was

[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_04]: that?

[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_04]: So –

[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_08]: Because I think the first one you read would be kind of the one that would hook you

[00:22:08] [SPEAKER_08]: in.

[00:22:08] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.

[00:22:08] [SPEAKER_08]: Right?

[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_08]: And then the first one after that would be –

[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_04]: So, I might have read – I might have read a book.

[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I probably did read a comic before this point in time.

[00:22:17] [SPEAKER_04]: But it's – the ones that stick out to me as kind of the ones that, like, really, like,

[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_04]: got me into comics and where I really kind of – from there on, it was, like, full in.

[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I knew I loved comics and I started going to comic stores on a more regular basis, things

[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_04]: like that, was Adventures of Superman and Amazing Spider-Man.

[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Those were the two books because those were the two books that our school library had.

[00:22:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And they actually carried monthly comic subscriptions.

[00:22:44] [SPEAKER_04]: And at the time, they actually – those two books, I think, actually were on a – I can't

[00:22:49] [SPEAKER_04]: remember if they were on, like, a faster-than-monthly release schedule at the time or not.

[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Or maybe our library just, like, was behind and stocked them, you know, quicker.

[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_04]: But, like, those two, they actually had running.

[00:23:00] [SPEAKER_04]: So, it was me and another friend of mine in school.

[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And this was about sixth grade, I think.

[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, so, they had those books and they would – me and him were, like, two huge comic fans.

[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_04]: But I don't know if you – they did this – like, so, at my school back then, they did, like,

[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_04]: when you were at the library, they had you, like, set up at random tables.

[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_04]: But then each table, like, got called on to go pick out books.

[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_04]: It was, like, one at a time.

[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_04]: And it was random.

[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Essentially, it was just, like, whatever the teacher wanted to do that day.

[00:23:26] [SPEAKER_04]: And me and him would always be at different tables.

[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_04]: And we would be literally, like, sitting at the edge of our tables and just, like, waiting for her to call.

[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Because then we would just bolt to that.

[00:23:35] [SPEAKER_04]: But there was one section and those two books were there.

[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_04]: And both of us wanted the new issue of whatever one was available.

[00:23:41] [SPEAKER_04]: So, he was, like, your nemesis.

[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes!

[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_04]: On a real basis.

[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_04]: And we drew a comic together that I probably have somewhere.

[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I did the – I think I did the artwork and he did the script.

[00:23:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And when I say those two things, I use those terms very loosely.

[00:23:54] [SPEAKER_04]: It wasn't a lot of artwork and it wasn't a lot of script.

[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_04]: But we did that.

[00:23:58] [SPEAKER_04]: So, like, yeah, we would compete to get those things.

[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And, like, that's where I read – like, that's what really got me primed up for, like, you know, Death of Superman and Reign of Super Bowl.

[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_04]: It was, like, it started there.

[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, that's where I discovered Superman.

[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And Spider-Man, like, Mark Bagley will always define my version of Spider-Man because, like, it was so prevalent.

[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah, those were the two books.

[00:24:18] [SPEAKER_04]: As far as the one I purchased, I think the first one I purchased was, like, some random issue of Uncanny X-Men.

[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_04]: And I remember the cover.

[00:24:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't remember the number.

[00:24:30] [SPEAKER_04]: It was a super random issue.

[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_04]: It was just, like, an issue I found at the time in our mall.

[00:24:35] [SPEAKER_04]: They had, like, a comic store slash kiosk.

[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_04]: And, like, you would go there and they would have some of the issues up.

[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And they just had one.

[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And I had some money.

[00:24:42] [SPEAKER_04]: And I just bought it because it, like, oh, hey, I like Colossus.

[00:24:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And that was literally – because I knew the X-Men from the X-Men animated series.

[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Not the 90s one.

[00:24:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I knew that one, too.

[00:24:51] [SPEAKER_04]: But there was the older series.

[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_05]: Pride of the X-Men.

[00:24:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Was it?

[00:24:56] [SPEAKER_04]: So it was the one that came on – man, that sounds super old right now.

[00:25:00] [SPEAKER_04]: It was the one that came on the VHS tapes.

[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_05]: It was one episode.

[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_05]: It was Pride of the X-Men.

[00:25:05] [SPEAKER_05]: And the same voice cast who were in the Smurfs played those characters.

[00:25:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Whoa!

[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_05]: So unbelievably bad.

[00:25:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[00:25:12] [SPEAKER_04]: But I loved it at the time.

[00:25:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Those tapes were also, like, where my, like, love of, like, Dazzler started.

[00:25:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Because, like, they featured kind of different characters and stuff.

[00:25:22] [SPEAKER_04]: So, like, it was a lot to those, right?

[00:25:24] [SPEAKER_04]: But, yeah, like, I just picked that up.

[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_04]: So, like, I've always been an X-Men fan.

[00:25:28] [SPEAKER_04]: But it took me a while to actually buy my first comic because I got so used to being able to go.

[00:25:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And then I went to friends' houses and read theirs and stuff.

[00:25:34] [SPEAKER_04]: But, yeah, those would be the first.

[00:25:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Sorry for that long-winded answer.

[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, no worries.

[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_04]: But those would be the first.

[00:25:38] [SPEAKER_07]: This is literally my first comic right here.

[00:25:40] [SPEAKER_07]: First comic I ever bought with my own money, right?

[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_07]: Does not have a cover.

[00:25:46] [SPEAKER_07]: I obviously did not take care of it.

[00:25:47] [SPEAKER_07]: I was 70 years old when I bought this.

[00:25:49] [SPEAKER_07]: That's awesome.

[00:25:50] [SPEAKER_07]: This was 1995.

[00:25:54] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[00:25:55] [SPEAKER_07]: This is Deadpool number seven.

[00:25:59] [SPEAKER_07]: Deadpool versus T-Ray.

[00:26:00] [SPEAKER_04]: That is super cool.

[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I love, by the way, I feel like it's a rite of passage that it doesn't have a cover.

[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.

[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_08]: Are you still going to send it to get graded?

[00:26:06] [SPEAKER_08]: I'm definitely going to get this.

[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Do they give grades to things below, like, 0.5?

[00:26:13] [SPEAKER_07]: Like, is that thing?

[00:26:15] [SPEAKER_07]: This thing has been through anger.

[00:26:17] [SPEAKER_07]: But, again, like, this is my first comic.

[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_07]: I mean, you can see it's to shit.

[00:26:21] [SPEAKER_07]: But this stays in a special place on my comic shelf, which is right there.

[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_07]: That's awesome.

[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_07]: And a special place in your heart.

[00:26:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:26:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Aw.

[00:26:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Look at that.

[00:26:30] [SPEAKER_08]: Look at that.

[00:26:31] [SPEAKER_08]: All right.

[00:26:31] [SPEAKER_08]: Let's get into your origin story.

[00:26:33] [SPEAKER_08]: How did you get to be where you are now?

[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_08]: Do you have a degree in being a nerd?

[00:26:37] [SPEAKER_08]: How does that work out?

[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_08]: Like, where'd you go to school?

[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_08]: I would assume.

[00:26:41] [SPEAKER_08]: Do you always want to be a writer?

[00:26:42] [SPEAKER_07]: Awesome.

[00:26:42] [SPEAKER_04]: But, I mean, like.

[00:26:43] [SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, it's.

[00:26:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm a.

[00:26:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Man, it's like super.

[00:26:47] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not like super weird.

[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_04]: But it's just not super typical.

[00:26:50] [SPEAKER_04]: So, or maybe it is actually typical.

[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_04]: If you ask a lot of people, like, what they went to college for and what they do now, they're

[00:26:54] [SPEAKER_04]: probably going to be light years art.

[00:26:56] [SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, I went to school for.

[00:26:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I have a degree in audio engineering.

[00:27:01] [SPEAKER_04]: So do I.

[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, right.

[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_04]: So, like, I have.

[00:27:06] [SPEAKER_04]: That's what actually my, like, degree is in.

[00:27:08] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was my dream was to.

[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I had.

[00:27:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I had a lot of dreams.

[00:27:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, one of my dreams was, like, literally to be like a Spanish Timbaland.

[00:27:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I wanted to produce.

[00:27:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I wanted to make beats.

[00:27:17] [SPEAKER_04]: I wanted to do things for that.

[00:27:18] [SPEAKER_04]: And I learned how to do all that.

[00:27:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:27:20] [SPEAKER_07]: You had the same goals, man.

[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I wish I could beatbox.

[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, I can't.

[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_04]: So it really helped me along the way.

[00:27:28] [SPEAKER_04]: But but then I've always I've always loved.

[00:27:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, obviously, I've always loved comics and I've always loved reading.

[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I was I was a reader from pretty early on.

[00:27:36] [SPEAKER_04]: I read tons of books.

[00:27:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I was always in the library and I always loved to write.

[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And as like the the being the, you know, Neptunes and Scott Storch dreams started to kind of even out a little bit.

[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I was I was doing a lot of other things.

[00:27:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And I got to a point where I was doing fine as far as like other jobs.

[00:27:57] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was like being an administrative assistant and I was being like office, you know, various things in an office.

[00:28:02] [SPEAKER_04]: And I ended up just like I had friends that I would just geek out about this stuff with.

[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_04]: And I had like a comic store that I would go to every Wednesday.

[00:28:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And it was one of those like perfect times in your life where like I I had a couple friends at this one comic store and it's still the one here.

[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_04]: That's that's local.

[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Shout out to Rick's Comic City.

[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_04]: But it's the we like used to sit around every Wednesday and like talk about the new books and then like go out to dinner and talk.

[00:28:26] [SPEAKER_04]: And then we would have like little like we'd get together and like just talk comics.

[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_04]: It was just really fun.

[00:28:30] [SPEAKER_04]: It was a super cool thing.

[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was like, man, I want to talk about this more than like every one day a week, you know.

[00:28:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And so I started like my own website was actually going to be it was going to be a bigger thing with me and another friend.

[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_04]: And then it just didn't work out.

[00:28:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, you know, I was just like, OK, well, it wasn't what we thought.

[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_04]: But like I'm going to do something then.

[00:28:50] [SPEAKER_04]: And so I started a podcast and it was literally just me talking to no one.

[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_08]: And you said it sounded good because of your background.

[00:28:59] [SPEAKER_08]: It sounded good.

[00:29:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I knew how to talk to a mic and, you know, so like I started a podcast and got like an interview or two somehow.

[00:29:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I have no idea like how people like wanted to come on there.

[00:29:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And and I did that for a while for probably two years.

[00:29:15] [SPEAKER_04]: And then I ended up getting geek tired was was calling for writers.

[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And all this time I'm still working, like I'm still doing a full time job and various other things.

[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Like at one time I was like selling insurance.

[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_04]: At another time I was working at like a medical facility company.

[00:29:31] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was always kind of doing stuff.

[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I worked at GameStop for a while.

[00:29:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And so but I was always doing this stuff on the side.

[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_04]: And so they were calling for writers, a geek tyrant.

[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And I followed them and I like their stuff.

[00:29:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was just like, I want to write.

[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I want to want to get better at this.

[00:29:44] [SPEAKER_04]: And I enjoy it.

[00:29:45] [SPEAKER_04]: So I joined them and I was with them for about four years.

[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I think I was with them for about three or four years.

[00:29:50] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was just doing it on the side when I could.

[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was doing interview, I remember like working at several jobs.

[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_04]: And I would take my lunch break and go out much like I'm doing now.

[00:30:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I would take my lunch break and go outside and like have an interview about a graphic novel.

[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And then run back inside and like transcribe it, upload it to the thing.

[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Wasn't getting paid anything, but I just wanted to like, it was my outlet.

[00:30:12] [SPEAKER_04]: It was an outlet for me and I was getting better and I was learning things.

[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_04]: And then after that, I kind of hit a point where I was like, okay, I was working at a place where I really enjoyed.

[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I was actually working at a supplier of like tabletop board games and card games and sports member BS.

[00:30:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I liked what I was doing and I really enjoyed it there.

[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And I just got to the point where it's a lot to essentially have a full time and then do this other thing on the side.

[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_04]: When like, you know, ultimately like you're not seeing money from that, you know, after so long.

[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_04]: It just gets to a point where I was just like, okay, I feel like we know that.

[00:30:48] [SPEAKER_04]: We've been doing this for what?

[00:30:50] [SPEAKER_04]: To this show in particular for two years now.

[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:30:53] [SPEAKER_04]: It's, it's just, you know, you just get to a thing where like, it's not even that it, that you don't enjoy it.

[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_04]: It's just like, you need to change like your focus.

[00:31:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And for me, I liked what I was doing at this place.

[00:31:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was like, okay, well, if I'm going to be doing, like, I saw opportunities to grow that.

[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_04]: And so I said, okay, well, I need to make a choice because my time was being splintered everywhere.

[00:31:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And then I literally like left and we left on good terms and everything.

[00:31:16] [SPEAKER_04]: And then like two weeks later, I think it was like two weeks.

[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_04]: It was hard for me.

[00:31:20] [SPEAKER_04]: That was not an easy decision to make.

[00:31:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I questioned whether I made the right one for a bit.

[00:31:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And then like two weeks later, I got a, I got an email from, from my now boss and a comic book head like undergone just like was, was undergoing a huge change in everything it was becoming.

[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_04]: And it was here, it was in Nashville.

[00:31:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And so I went in and, and talked to them and it was crazy.

[00:31:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause I was literally like the, I was the fifth writer.

[00:31:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I was the fifth.

[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I was the fourth or fifth writer.

[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I want to say fifth.

[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, but I was like the, I was the fourth person of like the staff in the office.

[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.

[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, and it was like, we walked in and like, I walked in on my first day and like, it was just like one, uh, cubby, like one, four desk cubby.

[00:32:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And that literally had three other writers and my boss.

[00:32:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And it was like, and then it was me getting coffee.

[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And then like our other, like, it was just a super early time.

[00:32:15] [SPEAKER_04]: And then to see where it is now and to see, you know, how much has happened in between then it's kind of, it's kind of nuts.

[00:32:21] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, really?

[00:32:22] [SPEAKER_08]: Um, I think I was going to say, how long ago was that?

[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_08]: And so seven years.

[00:32:27] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, it's about, I think this year is seven.

[00:32:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it, this year will be seven years and yeah, it's been, you know, it's been nuts to go from like almost burning the office down.

[00:32:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm like my first two week period.

[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause I left the coffee on overnight.

[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I was working like a late shift, you know, um, to go from that to, you know, where we are now.

[00:32:45] [SPEAKER_04]: It's, it's surreal.

[00:32:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, it's man, it's, it's, it's something I still have like documents with like the old logos and I have like, I actually took a bunch of photos.

[00:32:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, I was trying to do this, like, like not a web comic, but like a comic where it like had all these toys and pops as like the characters.

[00:33:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And then you would just like write quippy, funny dialogue and stuff.

[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I had like this ongoing story.

[00:33:08] [SPEAKER_04]: And I took it in that studio.

[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_04]: It was the first studio.

[00:33:10] [SPEAKER_04]: It was more like a closet with a table, with a table in it.

[00:33:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, and like, I remember BD like, um, or Brandon Davis.

[00:33:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I remember him shooting a video.

[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_04]: We'd like our first video we did in there for us.

[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_04]: It was me and Jamie.

[00:33:22] [SPEAKER_04]: And he was like, like kind of kneeling over a table on top of a table, holding the camera.

[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_04]: And like, there was just boxes of random crap all around us.

[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_04]: And like, we shut the door because it was, we wanted to like, we didn't have studio.

[00:33:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it was just like essentially a closet with a table in it.

[00:33:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And then of course I got the rules wrong in the game.

[00:33:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it was, you know, it was whatever, but to, to see what it is now.

[00:33:47] [SPEAKER_04]: It's, it's, it's something to that.

[00:33:48] [SPEAKER_08]: That's awesome.

[00:33:49] [SPEAKER_08]: That's so cool.

[00:33:49] [SPEAKER_08]: I mean, you almost, you almost burned down the office is, is that, um, I was going to

[00:33:54] [SPEAKER_08]: ask for some memories about like the early days of, you know, comicbook.com.

[00:33:59] [SPEAKER_08]: But I'm, I, now I'm thinking like, oh, I never got my t-shirt because Matt probably burned

[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_08]: the piece of paper that had my name on it.

[00:34:07] [SPEAKER_04]: That says he filled out a, that was the most nerve wracking day of my life, by the way.

[00:34:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I remembered I did it.

[00:34:13] [SPEAKER_04]: And then I was like, please don't like, I, I looked online for stuff.

[00:34:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I called people and I was like, Hey, uh, play still there?

[00:34:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Everything good?

[00:34:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Like coffee bought off?

[00:34:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And they're like, yeah, yeah, it's good.

[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, okay.

[00:34:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I think I was literally my second week there.

[00:34:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:34:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my goodness.

[00:34:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:34:26] [SPEAKER_04]: It was great.

[00:34:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, yeah.

[00:34:27] [SPEAKER_04]: And Jim owes a bunch of people like hats and shirts.

[00:34:30] [SPEAKER_08]: Sure.

[00:34:31] [SPEAKER_08]: And I wrote my, I wrote my, uh, uh, Apple reviews and whatnot.

[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_08]: I'm waiting for my shirt, man.

[00:34:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I promised a bunch of people like toboggans and coats and hand knitted scarves.

[00:34:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And like Jim, you know, keeps forgetting about that.

[00:34:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I promising that on air, but like still, you know, yeah, there's going to be some unhappy

[00:34:50] [SPEAKER_04]: people during the cold weather.

[00:34:52] [SPEAKER_08]: No, but like, not a lifelong fan.

[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_08]: That was stupid to say, because you've only been around for like seven or eight years.

[00:34:58] [SPEAKER_08]: Um, but, uh, long and a long time fan, long time fan.

[00:35:02] [SPEAKER_08]: No, but, uh, I know you went to Royal rumble and that's amazing.

[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_08]: And before we get into a whole wrestling stint, because we're big wrestling fans here too.

[00:35:11] [SPEAKER_08]: Um, do you have any, um, memories or experiences besides wrestling?

[00:35:16] [SPEAKER_08]: Cause we're going to get into wrestling.

[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_08]: Um, like going to any premieres or anything like that, um, from comic book that you're

[00:35:21] [SPEAKER_08]: like, man, I can't believe I'm doing this because I know you do a lot of interviews.

[00:35:25] [SPEAKER_08]: Like you interviewed a lot of power Rangers recently.

[00:35:28] [SPEAKER_08]: Um, any, um, any memories that stare at you're like, I can't believe I'm doing this.

[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_04]: It was, um, there was, I think the, it might've even been the first, it was like one

[00:35:36] [SPEAKER_04]: of the first big things, uh, I did as far as traveling.

[00:35:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause like, it took me a couple of years really before I started like, you know, traveling

[00:35:43] [SPEAKER_04]: to events, things like that.

[00:35:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, I will put the first comic con up there as, um, because the first, actually, I think

[00:35:50] [SPEAKER_04]: it was the, it wasn't, it was the first comic con that I did because one, it was my first

[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_04]: comic con ever like to go to as a not member of the press as a member of the press.

[00:35:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I'd never been to a comic con and always wanted to go.

[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_04]: So when I got to go to that, that was a big deal in itself.

[00:36:04] [SPEAKER_04]: But then, you know, we were able to like line up interviews and, and I got to talk to Jason

[00:36:09] [SPEAKER_04]: David Frank and that, you know, that interview, you know, what number one was really fun to

[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_04]: do, but, but also cause I'm, cause I'm a huge fan, but also like, he was just like

[00:36:19] [SPEAKER_04]: very, you know, gracious with his time.

[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_04]: It was, it was actually like a really great interview.

[00:36:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Like he was very open and we had a really fun conversation and, you know, for that to

[00:36:29] [SPEAKER_04]: happen at my first one, it's, I mean, it very much, and it's, you know, obviously, especially

[00:36:34] [SPEAKER_04]: now it will always have kind of a special place.

[00:36:36] [SPEAKER_04]: But just then, like, I remember even then it was, it was a big deal.

[00:36:40] [SPEAKER_04]: It was for me because that just was like, man, I can't believe, I can't believe I'm here,

[00:36:44] [SPEAKER_04]: but I can't believe I'm sitting across from someone that literally in a lot of ways,

[00:36:48] [SPEAKER_04]: you know, was a huge defining, like part of my childhood.

[00:36:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, it, you know, it mattered and it was, it was a cool thing.

[00:36:55] [SPEAKER_04]: And then like the, uh, I will say the other one was, um, I think happened in adulthood,

[00:36:59] [SPEAKER_08]: he's sitting over your shoulder, you know?

[00:37:01] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, exactly.

[00:37:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:37:03] [SPEAKER_04]: It's very, very much so.

[00:37:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Tommy right now, man.

[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I, I definitely had, uh, some moments.

[00:37:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I definitely, definitely had a couple of like, I can't really believe I'm doing this.

[00:37:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I, I remember when I went to power Morphicon, uh, that was huge for me.

[00:37:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, because one, it was like, again, that was one of those that, especially power Morphicon,

[00:37:21] [SPEAKER_04]: cause it only happens once every other year.

[00:37:23] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's not even at frequency, but I'd always heard about it, always wanted to go.

[00:37:26] [SPEAKER_04]: And so when I went and, and I was able to, uh, I didn't, it was funny.

[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_04]: It was, it was rocky for me in some ways because like I was learning a lot still.

[00:37:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And so like, I had all these grand, you have all these grand like ideas of what it's going

[00:37:40] [SPEAKER_04]: to be.

[00:37:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And it was, it was amazing, but it was amazing for completely different reasons than I thought.

[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like, Oh man, I'm going to like interview every single Ranger that's there.

[00:37:50] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm going to get that's never existed.

[00:37:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:37:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:37:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm going to get like all these things like signed and I'm going to do this.

[00:37:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm gonna do this.

[00:37:57] [SPEAKER_04]: And I had this whole grand idea.

[00:37:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I got one signature.

[00:37:59] [SPEAKER_04]: And, um, and then on top of that, I interviewed two people the entire time I was there.

[00:38:06] [SPEAKER_04]: And one wasn't even like, it wasn't even credit to me.

[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_04]: It was credit to a friend who like set that up.

[00:38:12] [SPEAKER_04]: But I take away all the memories of like, I had actually did a podcast with some friends

[00:38:16] [SPEAKER_04]: who were in the same space and we kind of all got to come together on this one podcast.

[00:38:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And that was really fun.

[00:38:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And like, I made a lot of friends, like there was a lot of connections I made and it just,

[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_04]: it sticks out for me for that reason.

[00:38:26] [SPEAKER_04]: But for none of the other things that like I had in my head.

[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, yeah.

[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_04]: So like, it's stuff like that, you know, um, getting, I got to meet Haim Saban.

[00:38:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, so that was surreal.

[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, and that was, you know, that was an actual person.

[00:38:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:38:39] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a, it's an actual person.

[00:38:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And, uh, you know, I got to, I got to meet him and we were in a conversation with, with

[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_04]: a couple of people and it was before all the Hasbro move over and stuff like that.

[00:38:49] [SPEAKER_04]: So it was, it was a big moment.

[00:38:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, you know, I got to, got to host a, uh, a panel, you know, that was a, that was a

[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_04]: huge thing.

[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, there was, there's been a couple along the way, um, that have really stuck out.

[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_04]: You know?

[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, so yeah.

[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And also I will say this one was recent and it was when I interviewed Tom Welling as

[00:39:05] [SPEAKER_04]: a huge Smallville fan.

[00:39:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I, it's like my favorite Superman, anything.

[00:39:09] [SPEAKER_04]: And I still like, this was like three months ago.

[00:39:12] [SPEAKER_04]: It was like three months ago.

[00:39:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I marked out completely in the car.

[00:39:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it was on the phone.

[00:39:15] [SPEAKER_04]: It was on the phone.

[00:39:17] [SPEAKER_04]: My child's in the backseat.

[00:39:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I had to do it while I was driving.

[00:39:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And it was still the best 10 minutes.

[00:39:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it was fantastic.

[00:39:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Awesome combo.

[00:39:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Awesome guy.

[00:39:26] [SPEAKER_04]: And, uh, yeah, I still have it.

[00:39:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I still mark out over stuff like that.

[00:39:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it doesn't, that stuff doesn't get old.

[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_04]: You know?

[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_08]: That's awesome.

[00:39:32] [SPEAKER_08]: I totally love that.

[00:39:33] [SPEAKER_08]: You know what I also love?

[00:39:34] [SPEAKER_08]: I love that you drop like wrestling lingo and nobody even notices it.

[00:39:39] [SPEAKER_08]: You know, I heard Mark out and I'm just like, God, we're such wrestling fans, man.

[00:39:44] [SPEAKER_08]: I know.

[00:39:44] [SPEAKER_08]: Right.

[00:39:44] [SPEAKER_08]: Cause we do that all the time.

[00:39:46] [SPEAKER_08]: We, you know, like, uh, young Phil over here, we'll be like, all right, guest, uh,

[00:39:50] [SPEAKER_08]: put yourself over.

[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_08]: And they're like, what do you mean?

[00:39:52] [SPEAKER_08]: What?

[00:39:54] [SPEAKER_07]: Over where?

[00:39:55] [SPEAKER_07]: I'll say, put yourself over.

[00:39:56] [SPEAKER_07]: Everybody's like, I don't know what that means.

[00:39:57] [SPEAKER_07]: Like, oh, come on.

[00:39:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:39:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I think I said, um, I was, I can't remember who I was talking to, but I said like heel

[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_04]: tendencies and, and, and I, I was like, why did I say that?

[00:40:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, there's, there's no context.

[00:40:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And then, and they got it though.

[00:40:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was like, okay, cool.

[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Like we're good.

[00:40:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I can just move on.

[00:40:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:40:14] [SPEAKER_04]: It slips in, man.

[00:40:15] [SPEAKER_08]: I love it.

[00:40:16] [SPEAKER_08]: Speaking of wrestling, our wrestling buddy, shout out to our buddy, Eric from Luchirillas.

[00:40:20] [SPEAKER_08]: He, he's a, he does a company called Luchirillas and it's like, uh, homage to like wrestlers

[00:40:25] [SPEAKER_08]: and in like, uh, big gorillas, you know, like cartoon versions of gorillas.

[00:40:30] [SPEAKER_07]: It is the greatest thing ever.

[00:40:31] [SPEAKER_07]: You got to check them out.

[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_07]: Luchirillas.com.

[00:40:34] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, that's awesome.

[00:40:34] [SPEAKER_07]: Yes.

[00:40:35] [SPEAKER_07]: I will check this out.

[00:40:36] [SPEAKER_08]: But he has a question for you.

[00:40:37] [SPEAKER_08]: Are you going to mania?

[00:40:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't, I don't know.

[00:40:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I would say probably not only because I just went wrong.

[00:40:45] [SPEAKER_04]: So I will probably say, um, probably, probably not going to happen if, uh, if, if anyone gets

[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_04]: to do main in a probably be Connor, um, who runs our, uh, wrestling coverage.

[00:40:56] [SPEAKER_04]: So it'll probably be him.

[00:40:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, cause probably not like super fair for me to like go to rumble and then like, yeah,

[00:41:03] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah, yeah, I'll go to this one too.

[00:41:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I'll go to the next big one.

[00:41:06] [SPEAKER_04]: You know?

[00:41:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:41:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And, and rumble was great.

[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause it was in San Antonio and I'm from Texas and I'm Houston.

[00:41:11] [SPEAKER_04]: So like family was super close.

[00:41:12] [SPEAKER_04]: It was just like, you know, I'm bummed that I missed Dallas last year.

[00:41:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Is that like, if there was one, that would have been the one to go to.

[00:41:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, one of these days they'll have one in Houston and I could just go to that.

[00:41:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause why the hell not?

[00:41:22] [SPEAKER_04]: How are they not?

[00:41:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:41:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, but yeah, so probably coming home for you.

[00:41:26] [SPEAKER_07]: And that's not Nashville as far as like, you know, like, like in, in, in, like in relation

[00:41:30] [SPEAKER_07]: to, to like going there, not like how it would be for us.

[00:41:33] [SPEAKER_07]: Like if it's in Houston, we got to come to California.

[00:41:35] [SPEAKER_07]: So it's like, right.

[00:41:36] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[00:41:36] [SPEAKER_07]: How did you end up in Nashville?

[00:41:37] [SPEAKER_08]: Was it the audio thing that got you there?

[00:41:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, actually it was, uh, I, my, my mom was living here.

[00:41:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I have to actually, I have to give her full credit.

[00:41:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause I was in Houston and, um, I was like going to, I was actually still going to school.

[00:41:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I, I jumped into, I was going to kind of try and add some, um, graphic design and things

[00:41:54] [SPEAKER_04]: like that.

[00:41:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause I was like during this whole time, I'm also freelancing as a graphic and web designer.

[00:42:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, on the side, just like small business and I was doing stuff on the side.

[00:42:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, so I was trying to like, actually like get a degree in that solidify that and stuff.

[00:42:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, but it's just like, like something like wasn't clicking and I was kind of looking for,

[00:42:13] [SPEAKER_04]: you know, it's just like a change of pace.

[00:42:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, I went to go visit her.

[00:42:15] [SPEAKER_04]: She was living here and I came for like two or three weeks.

[00:42:18] [SPEAKER_04]: She was like, come up here, you know, just like, you know, take a minute, you know, kind

[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_04]: of, yeah.

[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_04]: So I, so I come up here and then like, I went, wow, this is kind of nice.

[00:42:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:42:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I like this.

[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_04]: And, um, then I, I went back and then she was like, it was like a couple, it couldn't

[00:42:33] [SPEAKER_04]: have been more than like a month later.

[00:42:34] [SPEAKER_04]: She was like, you know, you thought like, you know, what'd you think?

[00:42:37] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was like, yeah, I liked it.

[00:42:37] [SPEAKER_04]: And she was like, you know, do you ever think about, you know, coming up here, you know,

[00:42:40] [SPEAKER_04]: like you could, you know, stay with us and kind of get acclimated, you know, and stuff.

[00:42:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like, well, yeah.

[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_04]: So I, so I kind of like, I took her.

[00:42:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like, yeah, why not?

[00:42:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Why not be kind of fun.

[00:42:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:42:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause I really enjoyed it here.

[00:42:50] [SPEAKER_04]: And, uh, I came up here and then ironically, a year later she left, she went back to Houston

[00:42:54] [SPEAKER_04]: and then no one I knew was there.

[00:43:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And so then I, I, I could have moved, but I was just like, eh, I like it here.

[00:43:03] [SPEAKER_04]: So I just stayed and I've been here ever since.

[00:43:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, yeah, it just kind of grew on me.

[00:43:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Kind of like, you know, has like this, like it's, it's got the old town feel, but it's

[00:43:12] [SPEAKER_04]: got modern amenities and you know, stuff doesn't, you know, there's still some of that, like

[00:43:17] [SPEAKER_04]: why is stuff closed at six?

[00:43:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Like there's still like some of that, that is here too much, but it's not so bad as to other

[00:43:23] [SPEAKER_04]: places.

[00:43:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And so, yeah, I kind of, I kind of liked it.

[00:43:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And, and looking back, I'm so glad I was here.

[00:43:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause like, I met my wonderful wife here and had some wonderful friends, Rick's like, none

[00:43:33] [SPEAKER_04]: of that stuff would have happened if I hadn't.

[00:43:35] [SPEAKER_08]: Your job.

[00:43:36] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.

[00:43:36] [SPEAKER_08]: Right.

[00:43:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, exactly.

[00:43:37] [SPEAKER_04]: My job.

[00:43:37] [SPEAKER_04]: So, um, yeah, so it worked out for the best.

[00:43:40] [SPEAKER_08]: So shout out to your mom.

[00:43:41] [SPEAKER_08]: That's awesome.

[00:43:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I know.

[00:43:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:43:42] [SPEAKER_04]: She deserves the credit for that.

[00:43:44] [SPEAKER_08]: Shout out to your mom for leaving your ass in Nashville.

[00:43:48] [SPEAKER_04]: My mom made me very proud one day because, um, we were in the comic book office years ago.

[00:43:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, we were, we were thinking of like doing this thing where we're going to have our,

[00:43:57] [SPEAKER_04]: like our parents answer like nerdy questions about comics and like see the answers.

[00:44:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:44:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And, um, I was so proud because like we had like one or two do it, like call in.

[00:44:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And the question was like, who's your favorite Robin?

[00:44:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Or like, who was, it was either, who's your favorite Robin?

[00:44:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it was, who's your favorite Robin?

[00:44:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Because then, um, we had like some, somebody else call in and give their answer and then

[00:44:19] [SPEAKER_04]: someone else.

[00:44:19] [SPEAKER_04]: And then my mom, I got my mom on the phone and I had her on speaker and I was like, Hey,

[00:44:23] [SPEAKER_04]: so got a question for you.

[00:44:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I want to ask who's your favorite Robin.

[00:44:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And she said, um, no, Oh my God.

[00:44:28] [SPEAKER_04]: What was the question?

[00:44:28] [SPEAKER_04]: The question was something about a specific Robin because she, her, her first response

[00:44:34] [SPEAKER_04]: was, Oh, which one?

[00:44:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was like, I, I, like I instantly won a bunch of nerd cred in the office.

[00:44:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause like my mom was like, Oh, like, is it, are you talking about Dick?

[00:44:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Are you talking about Jason?

[00:44:47] [SPEAKER_08]: Or I was like, she's like, I'm a big fan of the, uh, Grant Morrison run.

[00:44:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And she's a, she's a huge Batman fan.

[00:44:55] [SPEAKER_08]: We're just waiting for your mom to go like, uh, Burt Ward.

[00:44:58] [SPEAKER_08]: I'd be okay with that.

[00:45:00] [SPEAKER_08]: I have a, I have the Burt Ward pop.

[00:45:01] [SPEAKER_07]: I wouldn't have to talk with that.

[00:45:03] [SPEAKER_07]: But I mean, like if, if the answer was Burt Ward, it's like, okay, she understands what

[00:45:06] [SPEAKER_07]: I mean, but she went further and said, well, which one Jason Todd?

[00:45:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Tim Drake.

[00:45:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Beautiful.

[00:45:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like, Oh, that's great.

[00:45:15] [SPEAKER_07]: What really would have like taken the cake and made it like the most bad-ass thing ever

[00:45:18] [SPEAKER_07]: is if she would have just pulled it out of her back pocket and went, Oh, Damien Wayne.

[00:45:22] [SPEAKER_07]: Like what the hell?

[00:45:23] [SPEAKER_08]: What?

[00:45:23] [SPEAKER_07]: You don't read comics mom?

[00:45:27] [SPEAKER_04]: If she had been like post rebirth, Damien Wayne would have been like, that's right,

[00:45:32] [SPEAKER_03]: mom.

[00:45:34] [SPEAKER_08]: That's funny.

[00:45:34] [SPEAKER_08]: That's funny.

[00:45:35] [SPEAKER_08]: So shout out to moms are that because my mom and my dad have been lifelong wrestling fans

[00:45:40] [SPEAKER_08]: and they got me into wrestling.

[00:45:41] [SPEAKER_08]: So like, Oh, nice.

[00:45:42] [SPEAKER_08]: Even before I was born, they were going to wrestling shows here in Sacramento and, you know, seeing,

[00:45:47] [SPEAKER_08]: seeing like Pat Patterson and Rocky Maivia and stuff like that.

[00:45:50] [SPEAKER_08]: So they like pass that down to me.

[00:45:52] [SPEAKER_08]: So like my, um, I've always loved wrestling.

[00:45:55] [SPEAKER_08]: We all love wrestling.

[00:45:56] [SPEAKER_07]: Peter Maivia is Rocky.

[00:45:58] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, sorry.

[00:45:59] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.

[00:45:59] [SPEAKER_08]: Peter Maivia.

[00:46:00] [SPEAKER_08]: Sorry.

[00:46:00] [SPEAKER_08]: I was just, I was just looking at the new Rocky Maivia pop that just came out.

[00:46:05] [SPEAKER_07]: Rocky Maivia.

[00:46:06] [SPEAKER_07]: And I'm like, so, I mean, I'm sure they were going in.

[00:46:08] [SPEAKER_08]: I can't decide whether I want the regular, uh, Rocky Maivia pop or the metal version.

[00:46:14] [SPEAKER_08]: So give me, give me a break.

[00:46:15] [SPEAKER_08]: I got a lot going on in my brain.

[00:46:17] [SPEAKER_08]: Um, uh, but what I was going to say, how did you get your wrestling passion?

[00:46:22] [SPEAKER_08]: Where did that come from?

[00:46:23] [SPEAKER_04]: So I had watched wrestling, um, here and there, like caught it on cable or, you know, caught

[00:46:29] [SPEAKER_04]: like, you know, like late rerun shows of events and things like that.

[00:46:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I had kind of had a very loose affiliation with it until, um, it was until it was hit

[00:46:39] [SPEAKER_04]: ironically, it was the Wednesday night wars.

[00:46:42] [SPEAKER_04]: So is what defined it for me?

[00:46:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Because it's one of the, it's one of the very few things.

[00:46:47] [SPEAKER_04]: It's one of the very few, like, um, like, uh, great nostalgic memories I have of my dad,

[00:46:53] [SPEAKER_04]: of my stepdad.

[00:46:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, so like, it's one of those things that like we watched wrestling together and we were

[00:46:58] [SPEAKER_04]: watching wrestling when WCW started right now.

[00:47:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Now WCW kind of started to morph and stuff.

[00:47:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:47:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Because this was like, like, as it became the Bischoff era, as it became people started

[00:47:11] [SPEAKER_04]: moving over and like all that stuff.

[00:47:13] [SPEAKER_04]: So we were like, right.

[00:47:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it was very much like, it's how, kind of how I refer to like power Rangers.

[00:47:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Like a lot of people that are huge power Rangers fans just kind of happened to be into

[00:47:22] [SPEAKER_04]: it when it was at its apex and when it started with mighty morph and right.

[00:47:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And those will be like lifelong fans and the same way for the wars.

[00:47:28] [SPEAKER_04]: If with WCW and WWE, like there's a whole generation of fans, including myself that have that as

[00:47:35] [SPEAKER_04]: credit.

[00:47:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that's was such a huge thing for those people.

[00:47:38] [SPEAKER_04]: And yeah, for me, I mean, it was awesome.

[00:47:40] [SPEAKER_04]: It was, and I was very much, and like Chris killing, it gives me a hard time because like

[00:47:44] [SPEAKER_04]: all of my best of lists are like very WCW heavy.

[00:47:48] [SPEAKER_04]: They're always that, you know, I was clearly on that side.

[00:47:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I was a nitro fan.

[00:47:52] [SPEAKER_04]: And I watched thunder.

[00:47:53] [SPEAKER_08]: I was, I was in, man, I was in your top five wrestlers.

[00:47:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I was very Wolfpack, like Wolfpack for life.

[00:47:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that, you know, Conan was fantastic.

[00:48:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:48:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Like all that stuff.

[00:48:03] [SPEAKER_04]: DDP is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time.

[00:48:05] [SPEAKER_04]: There's just certain sting, obviously.

[00:48:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Like there's certain hallmarks of that era and that we tuned in every night and we would

[00:48:11] [SPEAKER_04]: flip, you know, you flip back and forth, but like really for the most part, I was like

[00:48:15] [SPEAKER_04]: on team WCW and that, that period, I had the privilege of being, of having that be like really

[00:48:21] [SPEAKER_04]: my like for real introduction to so many people into wrestling and what the fun of wrestling

[00:48:26] [SPEAKER_04]: was because at the time WWF had competition again and it was, it was awesome.

[00:48:31] [SPEAKER_04]: And WWF obviously benefited from that in a way because their product got better.

[00:48:35] [SPEAKER_04]: They went live.

[00:48:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Like there's so many things that came from that.

[00:48:37] [SPEAKER_04]: So that was what got me into wrestling.

[00:48:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And then it's, you know, maybe there was a period of time in between there where I kind

[00:48:44] [SPEAKER_04]: of, there's like parts of the like ruthless aggression era that I wasn't as tuned in as,

[00:48:49] [SPEAKER_04]: as before and after, but really stuck with it.

[00:48:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:48:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I kind of stuck with it for the most part, but like there's some spots in there that,

[00:48:57] [SPEAKER_04]: you know, I was kind of like, eh, you know, it's like soap operas.

[00:48:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Like you can't always come back and you get on point pretty quick.

[00:49:02] [SPEAKER_08]: So I totally agree.

[00:49:03] [SPEAKER_08]: I remember watching WCW and them going, um, uh, Mick Foley just won the championship.

[00:49:09] [SPEAKER_08]: Who's going to go watch that?

[00:49:10] [SPEAKER_08]: I'm like, I'm going to go watch that.

[00:49:12] [SPEAKER_08]: And I remember switching over, you know, cause that was the spoilers, man.

[00:49:16] [SPEAKER_04]: That was so Tony Schiavone.

[00:49:17] [SPEAKER_08]: He was just like, who's going to give that guy a championship.

[00:49:20] [SPEAKER_08]: Uh, I'm going to go watch that Tony.

[00:49:22] [SPEAKER_08]: Thanks.

[00:49:23] [SPEAKER_04]: There was man.

[00:49:24] [SPEAKER_04]: You look back.

[00:49:24] [SPEAKER_04]: There's so many, I mean, everybody off admits to it, but like, there's so much like dirty

[00:49:28] [SPEAKER_04]: stuff he did during that time.

[00:49:30] [SPEAKER_04]: But I ate it up with a spoon back then.

[00:49:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause like, that was my team.

[00:49:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:49:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I was all about Booker T and I was like all about those people.

[00:49:38] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh yeah.

[00:49:38] [SPEAKER_08]: Booker T of course.

[00:49:39] [SPEAKER_08]: You did not just say that.

[00:49:43] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, very much that, that very much defined my love of wrestling.

[00:49:46] [SPEAKER_08]: That's awesome.

[00:49:47] [SPEAKER_08]: It was, is Booker T like your favorite guy, your hometown guy, Houston?

[00:49:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I always, I mean, there's just a, yeah.

[00:49:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's the fact, and especially too, now that he has like his own, you know, wrestling

[00:49:56] [SPEAKER_04]: company, reality wrestling and like Roxanne Perez is like champion NXT.

[00:50:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Now, like there's so much, you know, kind of coming from there.

[00:50:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I will say that like my favorite from that era, I mean, my favorite it's, it's hard for

[00:50:06] [SPEAKER_04]: me to get much better than Sting.

[00:50:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Like Sting has always been like, that's actually on my bucket list still.

[00:50:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that interview is a bucket list interview for me.

[00:50:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I've never been able to talk to him, love to someday like Sting.

[00:50:18] [SPEAKER_04]: And especially that, you know, when that crow stuff hit, that was, that was nuts, man.

[00:50:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, like dude's still rocking that character today.

[00:50:25] [SPEAKER_07]: Like, you answered the question that I was going to ask was like, you know, are we talking

[00:50:33] [SPEAKER_07]: pre-Crow Sting or post-Crow Sting?

[00:50:36] [SPEAKER_07]: Because like pre-Crow Sting, he kind of felt like he was a ultimate warrior knockoff.

[00:50:41] [SPEAKER_07]: But then when he did his own thing and started doing the whole Crow thing like that, I started,

[00:50:46] [SPEAKER_07]: I started watching, I started watching WCW for Sting because of that.

[00:50:50] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[00:50:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:50:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I, I owe it.

[00:50:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I respect Sting's entire career.

[00:50:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And that dude, regardless of pink and purple face paint and the blonde, big blonde, like

[00:50:58] [SPEAKER_04]: what do you call it?

[00:50:59] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not, it wasn't an afro.

[00:51:00] [SPEAKER_04]: It was like top, like had a very like high top haircut, like all that stuff.

[00:51:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I respect it.

[00:51:05] [SPEAKER_04]: High top.

[00:51:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:51:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I respect it.

[00:51:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And like that, but that was also kind of like antithetical to like what WCW was doing.

[00:51:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Like NWO, like all that stuff was kind of trying to get away from that kind of clear cut, you

[00:51:17] [SPEAKER_04]: know, baby face.

[00:51:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:51:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Bodybuilder kind of image.

[00:51:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And so, you know, when he switched to that, like it was just perfect place.

[00:51:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Perfect time.

[00:51:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Dude's coming from the rafters.

[00:51:27] [SPEAKER_04]: He's got the baseball bat.

[00:51:28] [SPEAKER_04]: And I don't know what it is.

[00:51:29] [SPEAKER_04]: There's just something about a wrestler with a baseball bat that is cool.

[00:51:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Like Abba Fire got 10 times cooler when she grabbed the baseball bat.

[00:51:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it just happens.

[00:51:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what it is.

[00:51:38] [SPEAKER_07]: Like when Raven picked up a baseball bat.

[00:51:40] [SPEAKER_07]: Yes.

[00:51:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.

[00:51:41] [SPEAKER_07]: Again, and I always felt like Raven was a sting knockoff at that point.

[00:51:45] [SPEAKER_07]: But I mean, like still, he became a much cooler character when he was walking around with

[00:51:48] [SPEAKER_04]: a bat.

[00:51:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, man.

[00:51:49] [SPEAKER_04]: There's something about a baseball bat.

[00:51:51] [SPEAKER_04]: It's Power Rangers with capes and it's wrestlers with baseball bats.

[00:51:56] [SPEAKER_04]: There's hallmarks of wrestling.

[00:51:59] [SPEAKER_04]: You don't go into parking lots.

[00:52:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Like you avoid them like the plague.

[00:52:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And then you always have a baseball bat.

[00:52:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And you can't not be distracted by a video screen.

[00:52:06] [SPEAKER_04]: That's just how it is.

[00:52:07] [SPEAKER_04]: That's awesome.

[00:52:07] [SPEAKER_08]: Now, sorry, we're going to geek out on wrestling, whether you like it or not.

[00:52:10] [SPEAKER_08]: I got to keep it kayfabe.

[00:52:12] [SPEAKER_08]: We're going to talk some wrestling.

[00:52:13] [SPEAKER_08]: Do you have a favorite pay-per-view or favorite gimmick match that like sticks out in your brain?

[00:52:17] [SPEAKER_07]: Bash at the beach.

[00:52:18] [SPEAKER_07]: No, I'm kidding.

[00:52:19] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, okay.

[00:52:22] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, my God.

[00:52:23] [SPEAKER_04]: That was great.

[00:52:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:52:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I know it.

[00:52:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I do know.

[00:52:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I understand Robocop is hated.

[00:52:29] [SPEAKER_04]: But that was so stupid.

[00:52:32] [SPEAKER_04]: It's great.

[00:52:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, man.

[00:52:35] [SPEAKER_04]: That was.

[00:52:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:52:36] [SPEAKER_04]: I will say actually.

[00:52:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Man, I don't know that I that I do.

[00:52:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know that.

[00:52:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.

[00:52:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Like there's one like pay-per-view in particular.

[00:52:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Now, also, I will credit to the fact that like my when it comes to like my memory of like

[00:52:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm one to kind of remember moments over a like entire map.

[00:52:52] [SPEAKER_04]: So like I'll like in my brain.

[00:52:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm like, oh, I see that particular moment.

[00:52:56] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm like, oh, hey, that's that's awesome.

[00:52:58] [SPEAKER_04]: That sticks in my brain.

[00:52:59] [SPEAKER_04]: But I have a hard time like being able to like point to like, oh, that occurred on this

[00:53:03] [SPEAKER_04]: date as part of this as part of this pay-per-view.

[00:53:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Like my like my I always have to like double reinforce it probably helps my my job that

[00:53:12] [SPEAKER_04]: like I go back and double check everything just to make sure I'm not getting wrong.

[00:53:16] [SPEAKER_04]: That's probably a good thing in my business to do.

[00:53:18] [SPEAKER_04]: But like I still have to I have to do that because otherwise I'm just like I don't remember

[00:53:22] [SPEAKER_04]: what year that was.

[00:53:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.

[00:53:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not one of those that can like instantly.

[00:53:26] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's the same with like comics.

[00:53:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I can't tell you who like inked and who like, you know, wrote even wrote a particular

[00:53:32] [SPEAKER_04]: book sometimes of one that like is far back.

[00:53:34] [SPEAKER_04]: But I can like tell you the moments from that book that I remember that like made me feel

[00:53:39] [SPEAKER_04]: certain.

[00:53:39] [SPEAKER_04]: But like that's kind of how my brain works.

[00:53:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I've just learned to adapt to it.

[00:53:43] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, I don't know if there's there's a particular pay-per-view that that sticks out

[00:53:47] [SPEAKER_04]: to me.

[00:53:47] [SPEAKER_04]: And as far as like a match, I tend to be I've always been a big Royal Rumble fan.

[00:53:54] [SPEAKER_08]: That's always been such like a spectacle to me.

[00:53:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Rumbles Rumbles are awesome.

[00:53:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm actually a I really enjoy the I actually really enjoy the Elimination Chamber matches.

[00:54:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, I just think the glass anytime someone like pushes someone through the glass or knock

[00:54:09] [SPEAKER_04]: someone off or like some of the matches have been really good about using it vertically.

[00:54:13] [SPEAKER_04]: And so like people get on top of the containers and start diving and stuff.

[00:54:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, and then I wasn't always a big cell person.

[00:54:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I didn't.

[00:54:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And also I'm tend to not be I'm very much like not into like blood.

[00:54:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I like a little it's it's kind of like, um, you know, it's kind of like salt.

[00:54:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I like a little salt.

[00:54:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I got some has some flavor.

[00:54:32] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a little bit like like once it just becomes like everything.

[00:54:35] [SPEAKER_04]: So like then my I can't feel my mouth.

[00:54:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I don't know.

[00:54:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it's very much like that.

[00:54:39] [SPEAKER_04]: So like some matches are like dog collar matches stick out.

[00:54:43] [SPEAKER_04]: But God, they get so they get so it's it's too much for me.

[00:54:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it ends up becoming like, oh my God, there's so much blood everywhere.

[00:54:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I could also say it about about every Jon Moxley match.

[00:54:53] [SPEAKER_04]: But like there's so much blood.

[00:54:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Darby Allen.

[00:54:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Darby Allen is another one, you know, like, you know, and it's just, you know,

[00:55:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I tend to like a little bit like I feel like Brock Lesnar blood is kind of tends to be

[00:55:04] [SPEAKER_04]: like my limit.

[00:55:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Like he'll he'll do a little or something and you just get like, oh, hey, that's cool.

[00:55:08] [SPEAKER_04]: But, you know, Impact even does some great matches like barbed wire massacre and stuff.

[00:55:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm like, I love the idea of them.

[00:55:14] [SPEAKER_04]: But then I watch them and go, oh, I can't.

[00:55:17] [SPEAKER_07]: Too much.

[00:55:17] [SPEAKER_07]: Too much.

[00:55:18] [SPEAKER_07]: He lost and covered in blood.

[00:55:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's what I mean.

[00:55:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Look, that's an iconic moment.

[00:55:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:55:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Like Brett Hart, he's being tapped out and like it's but like, man, my God, like stop

[00:55:27] [SPEAKER_04]: staring at me.

[00:55:28] [SPEAKER_08]: Now, since you're in Nashville, do you go see Impact stuff?

[00:55:32] [SPEAKER_08]: Do they still film in Nashville?

[00:55:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:55:34] [SPEAKER_04]: So they're the they travel around more now.

[00:55:37] [SPEAKER_04]: But when they're here, absolutely.

[00:55:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I try and make it out.

[00:55:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I actually got to go to Slammiversary last year.

[00:55:44] [SPEAKER_04]: They had their big show here and it was awesome because it was like the the anniversary of like

[00:55:48] [SPEAKER_04]: TNA and Impact and everything.

[00:55:50] [SPEAKER_04]: It was a it was a great show.

[00:55:51] [SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah, I got to go to that.

[00:55:52] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, obviously, like SummerSlam when I was here.

[00:55:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Impact Impact's doing some great stuff.

[00:55:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I actually really like their like it was it takes a minute.

[00:56:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Some of their matches, like those gimmick matches, like they have a lot of rules.

[00:56:05] [SPEAKER_04]: But when you get the flow of them, like their queen and king of the mountain matches, I

[00:56:10] [SPEAKER_04]: really like those like those those work way better than they have any right to because

[00:56:14] [SPEAKER_04]: on paper, I'm like, this makes no sense.

[00:56:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Why?

[00:56:17] [SPEAKER_04]: What?

[00:56:17] [SPEAKER_04]: When does when does someone go to the cage?

[00:56:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I don't I don't get this.

[00:56:20] [SPEAKER_04]: But when they you see them and they're working, I was like, yeah, OK, I got it.

[00:56:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I understand.

[00:56:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I will also say War Games is a is a favorite.

[00:56:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I love War Games.

[00:56:28] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm so glad it's also on the main roster now.

[00:56:31] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, that was nice to see.

[00:56:33] [SPEAKER_08]: I always say this, that like Impact does not get enough.

[00:56:36] [SPEAKER_08]: Actually, when it was TNA Impact, it doesn't get enough like credit for what it was at the

[00:56:41] [SPEAKER_08]: time, like a six sided ring trying to do something different.

[00:56:44] [SPEAKER_08]: But then bringing in, you know, like Jeff Jarrett versus Hogan versus Jeff Hardy versus

[00:56:49] [SPEAKER_08]: AJ Styles versus, you know, Bubba Ray Dudley.

[00:56:52] [SPEAKER_08]: It's like, oh, my God, there's so many stars versus Kurt Angle.

[00:56:56] [SPEAKER_08]: You know, it's like so many stars just here from various generations.

[00:56:59] [SPEAKER_08]: And it was like this weird passing of the torch from one old school generation to the other.

[00:57:04] [SPEAKER_08]: And I love old school Impact, like the whole Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, all that,

[00:57:10] [SPEAKER_08]: all that area.

[00:57:11] [SPEAKER_08]: I love it.

[00:57:12] [SPEAKER_08]: I love it.

[00:57:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Samoa Joe, which is like there's so many great matches with Samoa Joe.

[00:57:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:57:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, they I feel like Impact and still right now, like there's so like there's a lot of

[00:57:22] [SPEAKER_04]: really talented people in Impact.

[00:57:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Josh Alexander is killing it.

[00:57:26] [SPEAKER_04]: He's champ and killing it for a while.

[00:57:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Deanna Parrazzo is fantastic.

[00:57:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Jordan Grace is great.

[00:57:31] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, stuff that like Cardona was doing in there, you know, and Myers has been really

[00:57:35] [SPEAKER_04]: fun.

[00:57:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Moose has been killing it for like four years.

[00:57:38] [SPEAKER_04]: So there's there's a lot of, you know, really cool stuff.

[00:57:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Sammy Callahan, who is responsible for half of those matches that I can't watch.

[00:57:46] [SPEAKER_04]: But like, you know, dude has a barbed wire 64 controller.

[00:57:49] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm like, that's genius.

[00:57:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Please don't hit anyone with it.

[00:57:52] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, like it's that stuff.

[00:57:55] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, like there's there's great talent there.

[00:57:57] [SPEAKER_04]: And they're they're also bringing in like a lot of younger talent to like to benefit the

[00:58:02] [SPEAKER_04]: best of both worlds.

[00:58:03] [SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah, I feel like they don't get enough credit.

[00:58:05] [SPEAKER_08]: We when when I remember seeing Petey Williams do that Canadian destroyer, I'm like, oh,

[00:58:10] [SPEAKER_08]: my God, it was like the first time I saw Jake's just thinking Roberts do a DDT.

[00:58:15] [SPEAKER_08]: I'm like, that person is dead.

[00:58:16] [SPEAKER_08]: There's no way they're gonna get up.

[00:58:19] [SPEAKER_08]: No way.

[00:58:20] [SPEAKER_08]: No way.

[00:58:21] [SPEAKER_08]: So that Canadian destroyer was the same way.

[00:58:23] [SPEAKER_08]: I'm like, they're dead.

[00:58:23] [SPEAKER_08]: They're gone.

[00:58:24] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know.

[00:58:24] [SPEAKER_08]: Hey, babe.

[00:58:24] [SPEAKER_08]: No, okay, babe.

[00:58:25] [SPEAKER_08]: They're dead.

[00:58:27] [SPEAKER_08]: So, all right, let's keep going.

[00:58:28] [SPEAKER_08]: Before we get to the bloodline, I have to ask, is there one wrestler that you would you

[00:58:33] [SPEAKER_08]: see being underutilized or that you would give a push to in any any promotion that you feel

[00:58:38] [SPEAKER_08]: like this person guy girl is like they need some they need a push.

[00:58:42] [SPEAKER_08]: They need a tweak to their character and they could just, you know, kick it into fifth here

[00:58:46] [SPEAKER_08]: and go.

[00:58:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, that's too hard to limit to not to not categorize into promotions.

[00:58:52] [SPEAKER_08]: I will preface this.

[00:58:54] [SPEAKER_08]: You are welcome back anytime.

[00:58:56] [SPEAKER_04]: To answer more of these questions.

[00:58:58] [SPEAKER_04]: It's so hard.

[00:58:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:58:59] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a good promo, right?

[00:59:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:59:01] [SPEAKER_04]: So, because, yeah, I have like three from each company.

[00:59:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Personally, but I'll keep it one.

[00:59:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, man.

[00:59:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Just give me one.

[00:59:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Trying to think of recent.

[00:59:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And I will say there was more, but then Triple H took over WWE and a lot of those have changed,

[00:59:16] [SPEAKER_04]: which is great.

[00:59:17] [SPEAKER_04]: This is great.

[00:59:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:59:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:59:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:59:19] [SPEAKER_04]: So, the one.

[00:59:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:59:21] [SPEAKER_04]: So, I will say probably the one that leaps to mind right now is Alexa Bliss.

[00:59:29] [SPEAKER_04]: And I say that because she is literally like a multi-time champion and it feels like over

[00:59:36] [SPEAKER_04]: the last like three years, they have like really dropped the ball on her.

[00:59:42] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's not her.

[00:59:43] [SPEAKER_04]: She's as good as she ever was in the ring.

[00:59:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Not better.

[00:59:46] [SPEAKER_04]: She's made stuff work.

[00:59:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, look, people can say what they want about the Lily doll, but that thing sold

[00:59:51] [SPEAKER_04]: out.

[00:59:52] [SPEAKER_04]: That thing sold tons.

[00:59:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, there's a reason.

[00:59:55] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what I mean?

[00:59:55] [SPEAKER_08]: She sold a ton of merch.

[00:59:57] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.

[00:59:57] [SPEAKER_07]: So, they did not do enough with that whole character.

[01:00:01] [SPEAKER_07]: And a lot of that was because the whole situation with Bray Wyatt.

[01:00:04] [SPEAKER_07]: So, I mean, like, hopefully we get more of that.

[01:00:06] [SPEAKER_07]: It seems like she's going towards or it seems like they're folding her with the Wyatt

[01:00:11] [SPEAKER_07]: Six and as slow as that story's move.

[01:00:13] [SPEAKER_07]: But I mean, like.

[01:00:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:00:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:00:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's okay.

[01:00:15] [SPEAKER_04]: So, I enjoy.

[01:00:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, number one, I was never a Bray Wyatt guy before.

[01:00:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I never.

[01:00:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't like The Fiend.

[01:00:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't like like that stuff.

[01:00:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I will say since he has come back, I have.

[01:00:24] [SPEAKER_04]: It has been a pleasant surprise.

[01:00:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I really actually enjoyed what he's doing.

[01:00:27] [SPEAKER_04]: It is moving up too slow.

[01:00:28] [SPEAKER_04]: But I'm still captivated by what he's doing.

[01:00:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I do like where they're.

[01:00:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I do like that we're leaning into.

[01:00:34] [SPEAKER_04]: We're at least making a decision with her.

[01:00:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Like the stuff after Rumble, right?

[01:00:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Where she.

[01:00:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Like the darkness stuff.

[01:00:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And okay.

[01:00:40] [SPEAKER_04]: At least we're leaning into that.

[01:00:41] [SPEAKER_04]: But for like the last couple years.

[01:00:43] [SPEAKER_04]: It's.

[01:00:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And Bray's exit did affect this, obviously.

[01:00:46] [SPEAKER_04]: But like even before then.

[01:00:47] [SPEAKER_04]: It felt like.

[01:00:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm okay with someone being a supernatural character.

[01:00:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm cool with that.

[01:00:52] [SPEAKER_04]: But they still can be booked like a threat.

[01:00:56] [SPEAKER_04]: As in the wrestling sense.

[01:00:57] [SPEAKER_04]: So like.

[01:00:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah.

[01:00:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I think they're doing this a lot better right now with Judgment Day.

[01:01:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Judgment Day started out as this like very supernatural thing.

[01:01:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm cool with that.

[01:01:05] [SPEAKER_04]: But.

[01:01:05] [SPEAKER_04]: And then they kind of started to find the rhythm.

[01:01:07] [SPEAKER_04]: But they still booked them as threats.

[01:01:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Like they still booked them well from like match to match.

[01:01:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And the supernatural stuff was like an accent.

[01:01:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And with Alexa.

[01:01:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Like this whole Bianca thing.

[01:01:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that match was nothing.

[01:01:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm like.

[01:01:19] [SPEAKER_04]: That match should have been a barn burner.

[01:01:23] [SPEAKER_04]: And could have been.

[01:01:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And it was treated like.

[01:01:25] [SPEAKER_04]: It just wasn't.

[01:01:26] [SPEAKER_04]: And I understand like part of it's to get to the angle.

[01:01:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Also part of it was that it was cut for time.

[01:01:29] [SPEAKER_04]: But like still.

[01:01:30] [SPEAKER_04]: That feud should be something.

[01:01:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And like this is the former goddess who like everyone loved.

[01:01:36] [SPEAKER_04]: She was the best heel.

[01:01:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Like in the damn company.

[01:01:38] [SPEAKER_04]: So like I don't know.

[01:01:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Like for her.

[01:01:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like.

[01:01:40] [SPEAKER_04]: For someone as talented.

[01:01:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And who has proven herself so many times.

[01:01:43] [SPEAKER_04]: It's just weird that like she's.

[01:01:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.

[01:01:45] [SPEAKER_04]: She just feels.

[01:01:46] [SPEAKER_04]: And like she's missing from TV sometimes.

[01:01:47] [SPEAKER_04]: There's just a lot of weird things.

[01:01:49] [SPEAKER_04]: A lot going on there.

[01:01:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:01:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I will say her.

[01:01:51] [SPEAKER_04]: For just off top man.

[01:01:52] [SPEAKER_04]: But there are more.

[01:01:54] [SPEAKER_08]: Stay tuned for more everybody.

[01:01:56] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.

[01:01:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:01:56] [SPEAKER_08]: Okay.

[01:01:56] [SPEAKER_08]: I'll let you off the hook with that.

[01:01:58] [SPEAKER_08]: But let's get to the bloodline.

[01:01:59] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh my gosh.

[01:02:01] [SPEAKER_08]: You saw it in person.

[01:02:02] [SPEAKER_08]: The rumble.

[01:02:03] [SPEAKER_08]: What do you think is happening with bloodline?

[01:02:05] [SPEAKER_08]: Sammy Zane.

[01:02:06] [SPEAKER_08]: How do you like this story?

[01:02:08] [SPEAKER_08]: I mean this is.

[01:02:08] [SPEAKER_08]: This is really the long term storytelling.

[01:02:10] [SPEAKER_08]: That we've been asking for it.

[01:02:11] [SPEAKER_08]: For WWE.

[01:02:12] [SPEAKER_08]: So it's like.

[01:02:13] [SPEAKER_08]: They're giving it to us.

[01:02:14] [SPEAKER_08]: As much as I'm upset.

[01:02:15] [SPEAKER_08]: That Sammy isn't bloodline anymore.

[01:02:17] [SPEAKER_08]: Because I think he's.

[01:02:18] [SPEAKER_08]: You know.

[01:02:18] [SPEAKER_08]: He's the honorary ooze.

[01:02:20] [SPEAKER_08]: And I loved it.

[01:02:21] [SPEAKER_08]: I love.

[01:02:21] [SPEAKER_08]: Like I want that shirt.

[01:02:23] [SPEAKER_08]: Where do you think this is going?

[01:02:25] [SPEAKER_04]: So.

[01:02:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I.

[01:02:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Because I agree.

[01:02:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I think this is.

[01:02:28] [SPEAKER_04]: This is the best story in wrestling right now.

[01:02:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Like period.

[01:02:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Doesn't matter what company.

[01:02:32] [SPEAKER_04]: This is the best ongoing story.

[01:02:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it's just.

[01:02:35] [SPEAKER_04]: From week to week.

[01:02:36] [SPEAKER_04]: They do such a good job.

[01:02:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Of investing you.

[01:02:38] [SPEAKER_04]: From like.

[01:02:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Because like.

[01:02:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Right now.

[01:02:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Like we're talking about.

[01:02:40] [SPEAKER_04]: The Sammy Zane specific.

[01:02:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Like Fallout right.

[01:02:43] [SPEAKER_04]: But like.

[01:02:43] [SPEAKER_04]: There's still the J thing.

[01:02:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:02:44] [SPEAKER_04]: That's like out there.

[01:02:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And they're teasing.

[01:02:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Like what happens there.

[01:02:47] [SPEAKER_04]: And then.

[01:02:48] [SPEAKER_04]: You still have the.

[01:02:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Now you have the Cody of it all right.

[01:02:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Like he's going to face him.

[01:02:52] [SPEAKER_04]: And now your bloodline's down.

[01:02:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Like there's so many storylines.

[01:02:54] [SPEAKER_04]: That branch from that.

[01:02:55] [SPEAKER_04]: And you still have Kevin Owens out there.

[01:02:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Who's going to want revenge right.

[01:02:58] [SPEAKER_04]: And now Sammy.

[01:02:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:02:59] [SPEAKER_04]: There's just so many facets to it.

[01:03:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And they've done such a good job.

[01:03:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Of like running that along.

[01:03:03] [SPEAKER_08]: Sammy has been the MVP.

[01:03:05] [SPEAKER_08]: For the.

[01:03:05] [SPEAKER_08]: Like last game.

[01:03:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god.

[01:03:06] [SPEAKER_04]: It's so good.

[01:03:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it's.

[01:03:07] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:03:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Like look.

[01:03:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I have the benefit of covering Smackdown for us.

[01:03:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:03:11] [SPEAKER_04]: So I watch every week.

[01:03:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's.

[01:03:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm spoiled man.

[01:03:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Because it's.

[01:03:15] [SPEAKER_04]: It's fantastic.

[01:03:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Like Sammy.

[01:03:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean just when he like.

[01:03:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Got them to all break.

[01:03:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Every time.

[01:03:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Like there's just so many moments.

[01:03:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And they're just.

[01:03:22] [SPEAKER_04]: They do that thing of like.

[01:03:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Where they penetrate through the.

[01:03:25] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:03:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes you're.

[01:03:26] [SPEAKER_04]: They're still keeping AFAB open.

[01:03:28] [SPEAKER_04]: And they're presenting it.

[01:03:29] [SPEAKER_04]: But like.

[01:03:30] [SPEAKER_04]: It breaks it just enough.

[01:03:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it's cool to see Roman laugh.

[01:03:32] [SPEAKER_04]: It's cool to see.

[01:03:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Them like.

[01:03:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Trying to hold back stuff.

[01:03:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Like Sammy always trying to break Solo.

[01:03:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:03:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Like those are just fun.

[01:03:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:03:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Things.

[01:03:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And even Heyman gets a kick out of it.

[01:03:40] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah.

[01:03:40] [SPEAKER_04]: It's the.

[01:03:41] [SPEAKER_07]: Solo has the most straight face ever.

[01:03:43] [SPEAKER_07]: Because like.

[01:03:43] [SPEAKER_07]: It's just.

[01:03:44] [SPEAKER_07]: Watching him fight back.

[01:03:45] [SPEAKER_07]: To try not to break characters.

[01:03:47] [SPEAKER_07]: It's great.

[01:03:47] [SPEAKER_04]: And like crap.

[01:03:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Like bringing him in.

[01:03:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Was great.

[01:03:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I liked him in NXT.

[01:03:51] [SPEAKER_04]: But like.

[01:03:51] [SPEAKER_04]: He's been awesome.

[01:03:53] [SPEAKER_04]: He's.

[01:03:53] [SPEAKER_04]: He's been able to.

[01:03:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Well number one.

[01:03:55] [SPEAKER_04]: He didn't drop the ball.

[01:03:56] [SPEAKER_04]: He picked it up.

[01:04:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Done him so many favors.

[01:04:02] [SPEAKER_04]: By making him the enforcer.

[01:04:03] [SPEAKER_04]: He feels important.

[01:04:04] [SPEAKER_04]: He goes out there in a solo match.

[01:04:06] [SPEAKER_04]: And you're like.

[01:04:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:04:07] [SPEAKER_04]: You might boo him.

[01:04:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Because he's the heel.

[01:04:09] [SPEAKER_04]: But like.

[01:04:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:04:10] [SPEAKER_04]: You're still invested.

[01:04:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's crazy.

[01:04:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Because this dude.

[01:04:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Seven months ago.

[01:04:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Was in NXT 2.0.

[01:04:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:04:16] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:04:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Or eight months ago.

[01:04:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Or whatever.

[01:04:17] [SPEAKER_08]: And you can see him.

[01:04:18] [SPEAKER_08]: Step in front.

[01:04:19] [SPEAKER_08]: Of the bloodline.

[01:04:20] [SPEAKER_08]: To face.

[01:04:21] [SPEAKER_08]: Drew McIntyre.

[01:04:23] [SPEAKER_08]: And it's believable.

[01:04:24] [SPEAKER_08]: Right.

[01:04:24] [SPEAKER_08]: Because you're like.

[01:04:25] [SPEAKER_08]: He's the pitbull.

[01:04:26] [SPEAKER_08]: He doesn't care.

[01:04:27] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.

[01:04:27] [SPEAKER_08]: He's just.

[01:04:27] [SPEAKER_08]: He's just going to do whatever he has to do.

[01:04:29] [SPEAKER_08]: For the bloodline.

[01:04:29] [SPEAKER_08]: You're right.

[01:04:30] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.

[01:04:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Dude's facing Sheamus.

[01:04:31] [SPEAKER_04]: And McIntyre.

[01:04:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And it feels like.

[01:04:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh he might win.

[01:04:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And he probably will win.

[01:04:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's crazy.

[01:04:36] [SPEAKER_04]: In the transformation of a year.

[01:04:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Of seeing him.

[01:04:39] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:04:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:04:39] [SPEAKER_04]: It's impressive.

[01:04:40] [SPEAKER_04]: So like.

[01:04:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:04:41] [SPEAKER_04]: From every facet.

[01:04:41] [SPEAKER_04]: They've.

[01:04:42] [SPEAKER_04]: That is the best story.

[01:04:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I will say.

[01:04:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I am surprised.

[01:04:45] [SPEAKER_04]: They.

[01:04:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it was really smart.

[01:04:47] [SPEAKER_04]: To like.

[01:04:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Write him out of the rumble.

[01:04:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Keep.

[01:04:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:04:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't.

[01:04:49] [SPEAKER_04]: You don't get the.

[01:04:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Daniel Bryan.

[01:04:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Bryan Danielson now.

[01:04:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Backlash.

[01:04:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:04:53] [SPEAKER_04]: That you got years ago.

[01:04:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that was smart.

[01:04:55] [SPEAKER_04]: And then.

[01:04:55] [SPEAKER_04]: The ending storyline and stuff.

[01:04:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Him turning on Reigns.

[01:04:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Was brilliant.

[01:04:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I am surprised.

[01:05:00] [SPEAKER_04]: That they're doing the singles match.

[01:05:02] [SPEAKER_04]: At Elimination Japer.

[01:05:03] [SPEAKER_04]: That took me off guard.

[01:05:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Because.

[01:05:05] [SPEAKER_04]: I really.

[01:05:05] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought that.

[01:05:06] [SPEAKER_04]: There would be the tag match.

[01:05:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Before.

[01:05:08] [SPEAKER_04]: And.

[01:05:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Then.

[01:05:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Whatever you're going to do with Sammy.

[01:05:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And Roman.

[01:05:12] [SPEAKER_04]: You figure out a way to like.

[01:05:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Work him into WrestleMania.

[01:05:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Like you work.

[01:05:15] [SPEAKER_04]: You figure out that.

[01:05:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that's the ultimate payoff.

[01:05:17] [SPEAKER_04]: And here.

[01:05:18] [SPEAKER_04]: It seems like they might be doing the opposite.

[01:05:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Which is.

[01:05:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Having Sammy and Roman.

[01:05:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Go at each other.

[01:05:23] [SPEAKER_04]: And.

[01:05:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't see how Roman doesn't win.

[01:05:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And then.

[01:05:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe do the Kevin.

[01:05:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Sammy team up at WrestleMania.

[01:05:29] [SPEAKER_04]: And they're the ones that take down the Usos.

[01:05:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe with a little help from J.

[01:05:33] [SPEAKER_04]: And then.

[01:05:34] [SPEAKER_04]: They are the ones to make the.

[01:05:36] [SPEAKER_04]: It's hard.

[01:05:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Because like.

[01:05:37] [SPEAKER_04]: They're either the ones to make the first dent.

[01:05:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe you do that on night one.

[01:05:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And so.

[01:05:41] [SPEAKER_04]: The bloodline gets their first hit.

[01:05:43] [SPEAKER_04]: On night one.

[01:05:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Because they take the tag titles away.

[01:05:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And then.

[01:05:46] [SPEAKER_04]: The second night.

[01:05:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Rhodes takes down Reigns.

[01:05:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's the complete like decimation.

[01:05:50] [SPEAKER_04]: So you're doing them two parts.

[01:05:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe that's how they do it.

[01:05:53] [SPEAKER_04]: But.

[01:05:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Whichever way they go.

[01:05:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean.

[01:05:55] [SPEAKER_04]: At this point.

[01:05:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I give them the benefit of the doubt.

[01:05:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Like they haven't made a wrong move yet.

[01:05:59] [SPEAKER_04]: So.

[01:05:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Until they do.

[01:06:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Kind of hard to question.

[01:06:01] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:06:02] [SPEAKER_07]: It's also like.

[01:06:03] [SPEAKER_07]: How do you do it without.

[01:06:04] [SPEAKER_07]: Making Roman look weak.

[01:06:05] [SPEAKER_07]: Especially when you're trying to make him look strong.

[01:06:07] [SPEAKER_07]: And it's kind of like.

[01:06:08] [SPEAKER_07]: With Sammy turning his back.

[01:06:10] [SPEAKER_07]: And with.

[01:06:11] [SPEAKER_07]: And with Jay turning his back.

[01:06:12] [SPEAKER_07]: Like you can easily have them sabotage a match.

[01:06:14] [SPEAKER_07]: And Roman loses.

[01:06:16] [SPEAKER_07]: Not of his own.

[01:06:16] [SPEAKER_07]: Of his own accord.

[01:06:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:06:18] [SPEAKER_04]: And then he has.

[01:06:19] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:06:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Feuds to go off after that.

[01:06:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Plus at this point.

[01:06:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like.

[01:06:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I know.

[01:06:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I know.

[01:06:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And.

[01:06:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And.

[01:06:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And to their credit.

[01:06:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Rightfully so.

[01:06:26] [SPEAKER_04]: In some ways.

[01:06:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I understand that the length of his reign.

[01:06:29] [SPEAKER_04]: And having the two titles tied up.

[01:06:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Like this.

[01:06:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Is like.

[01:06:32] [SPEAKER_04]: A debatable thing.

[01:06:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it's come up.

[01:06:34] [SPEAKER_04]: As like frustration.

[01:06:35] [SPEAKER_04]: But at the same time.

[01:06:36] [SPEAKER_04]: It has also helped Reigns.

[01:06:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Pretty much become Teflon.

[01:06:40] [SPEAKER_04]: At this point.

[01:06:40] [SPEAKER_04]: He doesn't need the titles anymore.

[01:06:42] [SPEAKER_04]: You could take those tomorrow.

[01:06:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And dude would be fine.

[01:06:44] [SPEAKER_04]: He's.

[01:06:45] [SPEAKER_04]: He's Roman Reigns.

[01:06:46] [SPEAKER_04]: The tribal chief.

[01:06:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Whether the bloodline lasts or not.

[01:06:49] [SPEAKER_04]: He's Roman Reigns now.

[01:06:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:06:50] [SPEAKER_04]: There's no stopping that train.

[01:06:52] [SPEAKER_04]: He's.

[01:06:52] [SPEAKER_04]: He's.

[01:06:52] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:06:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Pretty close to like.

[01:06:54] [SPEAKER_04]: He's on his way to Cena though.

[01:06:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Cena didn't need a title.

[01:06:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Cena's Teflon.

[01:06:58] [SPEAKER_04]: He can lose.

[01:06:58] [SPEAKER_04]: And he in fact loses a lot.

[01:07:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And he like.

[01:07:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Loses like 90 times.

[01:07:02] [SPEAKER_04]: It doesn't matter.

[01:07:02] [SPEAKER_04]: People are gonna love him.

[01:07:03] [SPEAKER_04]: They don't care.

[01:07:03] [SPEAKER_04]: They just want Cena.

[01:07:04] [SPEAKER_04]: They don't care that he loses wins.

[01:07:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:07:06] [SPEAKER_04]: And Roman is.

[01:07:07] [SPEAKER_08]: Ball spot or not.

[01:07:07] [SPEAKER_08]: Give us.

[01:07:08] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.

[01:07:08] [SPEAKER_08]: Exactly.

[01:07:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Roman is very much on his way to that.

[01:07:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And so I think that.

[01:07:12] [SPEAKER_04]: When he loses them.

[01:07:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think there will be this like.

[01:07:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh.

[01:07:15] [SPEAKER_04]: He's.

[01:07:16] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:07:16] [SPEAKER_04]: He's not what he once was.

[01:07:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:07:17] [SPEAKER_04]: They'll play it up on commentary.

[01:07:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Obviously.

[01:07:19] [SPEAKER_04]: And stuff.

[01:07:19] [SPEAKER_04]: For storyline purposes.

[01:07:20] [SPEAKER_04]: But like.

[01:07:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I think he's fine.

[01:07:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I think he's gonna be fine.

[01:07:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Without the titles or with him.

[01:07:23] [SPEAKER_08]: I like it.

[01:07:24] [SPEAKER_08]: I like it.

[01:07:25] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh my god.

[01:07:25] [SPEAKER_08]: I can't believe we've kept you for over an hour.

[01:07:27] [SPEAKER_08]: My apologies.

[01:07:27] [SPEAKER_08]: Let's.

[01:07:28] [SPEAKER_08]: Run through some of these questions.

[01:07:31] [SPEAKER_08]: Believe you're still doing the build.

[01:07:32] [SPEAKER_08]: We good.

[01:07:33] [SPEAKER_07]: I kind of figured.

[01:07:34] [SPEAKER_07]: All right.

[01:07:34] [SPEAKER_07]: Well I'm gonna keep doing this now.

[01:07:35] [SPEAKER_07]: I.

[01:07:36] [SPEAKER_07]: I know the other guys had to take off.

[01:07:37] [SPEAKER_07]: Because they're doing.

[01:07:39] [SPEAKER_07]: They got their own show to do.

[01:07:40] [SPEAKER_07]: They got their own show to do.

[01:07:41] [SPEAKER_07]: But I mean.

[01:07:42] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm enjoying this way too much.

[01:07:43] [SPEAKER_07]: So.

[01:07:44] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm gonna.

[01:07:45] [SPEAKER_07]: And I'm almost done with this.

[01:07:46] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm probably gonna join the interview.

[01:07:47] [SPEAKER_07]: As soon as I'm done with this right here.

[01:07:49] [SPEAKER_07]: So.

[01:07:49] [SPEAKER_08]: Okay.

[01:07:49] [SPEAKER_08]: Cool.

[01:07:50] [SPEAKER_08]: Matt.

[01:07:50] [SPEAKER_08]: Give us.

[01:07:51] [SPEAKER_08]: I know you.

[01:07:51] [SPEAKER_08]: You're a big tabletop guy too.

[01:07:52] [SPEAKER_08]: Give us like.

[01:07:53] [SPEAKER_08]: Two tabletop games.

[01:07:54] [SPEAKER_08]: That we should go check out.

[01:07:56] [SPEAKER_08]: Just so we can touch on everything.

[01:07:57] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh my god.

[01:07:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh.

[01:07:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Awesome.

[01:07:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[01:08:00] [SPEAKER_08]: And if you want to do four.

[01:08:02] [SPEAKER_08]: You got to come back on the show.

[01:08:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh.

[01:08:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Good.

[01:08:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh man.

[01:08:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:08:05] [SPEAKER_04]: It's good tease.

[01:08:06] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[01:08:07] [SPEAKER_08]: Marvel's tabletop.

[01:08:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:08:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Pencil me in now.

[01:08:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.

[01:08:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Pencil me in a couple months from now.

[01:08:11] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[01:08:12] [SPEAKER_04]: So.

[01:08:12] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[01:08:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Well first.

[01:08:13] [SPEAKER_04]: First off the top of my head.

[01:08:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Is because it was a recent playthrough.

[01:08:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Is Marvel United.

[01:08:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Because.

[01:08:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Marvel United just had a.

[01:08:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Kickstarter for.

[01:08:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Marvel United Multiverse.

[01:08:23] [SPEAKER_04]: But there's also like.

[01:08:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Marvel United and X-Men United.

[01:08:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Those games are.

[01:08:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Super fun.

[01:08:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Have.

[01:08:29] [SPEAKER_04]: There's so many characters.

[01:08:30] [SPEAKER_04]: You can still buy them.

[01:08:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Like they were Kickstarters.

[01:08:32] [SPEAKER_04]: But you can still buy them retail.

[01:08:33] [SPEAKER_04]: And they're not like super expensive either.

[01:08:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Which can be a problem.

[01:08:36] [SPEAKER_04]: In the tabletop hobby.

[01:08:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Of like.

[01:08:38] [SPEAKER_04]: People not wanting to spend.

[01:08:40] [SPEAKER_04]: $120 on a game.

[01:08:41] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[01:08:41] [SPEAKER_04]: They're.

[01:08:42] [SPEAKER_04]: They're reasonably priced.

[01:08:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And you get a lot in them.

[01:08:44] [SPEAKER_04]: And they're very like.

[01:08:45] [SPEAKER_04]: New player friendly.

[01:08:46] [SPEAKER_04]: The minis themselves.

[01:08:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Like super cute.

[01:08:48] [SPEAKER_04]: They're kind of in this like.

[01:08:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Chibi style.

[01:08:50] [SPEAKER_04]: But the game is like.

[01:08:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Deep and fun.

[01:08:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Accessible.

[01:08:54] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's.

[01:08:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:08:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it has.

[01:08:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Various ages.

[01:08:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:08:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I think.

[01:08:57] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:08:58] [SPEAKER_04]: You're probably.

[01:08:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't actually know what the official.

[01:09:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Age.

[01:09:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Like starting age.

[01:09:02] [SPEAKER_04]: On that is.

[01:09:02] [SPEAKER_04]: But I wouldn't think it'd be any more than.

[01:09:05] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean.

[01:09:05] [SPEAKER_04]: You could probably.

[01:09:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Get a.

[01:09:06] [SPEAKER_04]: A rather young.

[01:09:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Player.

[01:09:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Someone who's like.

[01:09:09] [SPEAKER_04]: At least.

[01:09:09] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:09:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Experienced with a few games.

[01:09:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:09:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Of that ilk.

[01:09:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Of that like.

[01:09:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Next step up from like.

[01:09:14] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:09:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Candyland.

[01:09:16] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:09:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:09:17] [SPEAKER_04]: That next tier.

[01:09:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Like if they're in that next tier.

[01:09:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Of games.

[01:09:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I would say.

[01:09:21] [SPEAKER_04]: It would be something.

[01:09:21] [SPEAKER_04]: You could at least try.

[01:09:23] [SPEAKER_04]: You'd have to walk through some things.

[01:09:24] [SPEAKER_04]: But I think they'll be able to get the hang of it.

[01:09:26] [SPEAKER_04]: pretty soon.

[01:09:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Because it does a really good job of like.

[01:09:28] [SPEAKER_04]: There's a lot of systems.

[01:09:29] [SPEAKER_04]: But it does a really good job of tying it all together.

[01:09:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And be like.

[01:09:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[01:09:33] [SPEAKER_04]: You have four things you can do this round.

[01:09:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:09:35] [SPEAKER_04]: You can break it down like that.

[01:09:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And they would.

[01:09:37] [SPEAKER_04]: You could handle some of the more complex bits.

[01:09:38] [SPEAKER_04]: But let them just have fun.

[01:09:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Play.

[01:09:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Pick what they want to do.

[01:09:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Pick the card they want to use.

[01:09:43] [SPEAKER_04]: The colors are big.

[01:09:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:09:44] [SPEAKER_04]: It's.

[01:09:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it's really good for family.

[01:09:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Especially if you're a Marvel fan.

[01:09:47] [SPEAKER_04]: And then if you're an X-Men fan.

[01:09:48] [SPEAKER_04]: The X-Men United one.

[01:09:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Is like.

[01:09:50] [SPEAKER_04]: An X-Men fan's dream.

[01:09:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean.

[01:09:51] [SPEAKER_04]: There's.

[01:09:52] [SPEAKER_04]: There's just all kinds of stuff.

[01:09:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Multiverse.

[01:09:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Actually.

[01:09:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Has me super excited.

[01:09:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Because.

[01:09:56] [SPEAKER_04]: That won't come out till later this year.

[01:09:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Next year.

[01:09:58] [SPEAKER_04]: But.

[01:09:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Age of Apocalypse got its own expansion.

[01:10:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And like.

[01:10:00] [SPEAKER_04]: That's one of my favorite stories.

[01:10:01] [SPEAKER_04]: All time.

[01:10:02] [SPEAKER_04]: There's a freaking.

[01:10:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:10:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Morph is a mini.

[01:10:04] [SPEAKER_04]: The Age of Apocalypse.

[01:10:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Morph is a mini.

[01:10:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:10:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Saber to the Wild Child.

[01:10:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Are a mini.

[01:10:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh.

[01:10:09] [SPEAKER_04]: God.

[01:10:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway.

[01:10:09] [SPEAKER_07]: I need to say this just because I love.

[01:10:12] [SPEAKER_07]: Age of Apocalypse.

[01:10:13] [SPEAKER_07]: It's one of my favorite storylines.

[01:10:15] [SPEAKER_07]: In.

[01:10:15] [SPEAKER_07]: Like.

[01:10:16] [SPEAKER_07]: X-Men.

[01:10:16] [SPEAKER_07]: That's fantastic.

[01:10:18] [SPEAKER_07]: One of the best ever.

[01:10:18] [SPEAKER_07]: The Apocalypse movie.

[01:10:20] [SPEAKER_07]: Was.

[01:10:20] [SPEAKER_07]: Even more of a letdown for me.

[01:10:22] [SPEAKER_07]: Not.

[01:10:22] [SPEAKER_07]: Not.

[01:10:23] [SPEAKER_07]: Just because it was a bad movie.

[01:10:24] [SPEAKER_07]: But.

[01:10:24] [SPEAKER_07]: Because Apocalypse is my favorite villain.

[01:10:26] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh yeah.

[01:10:27] [SPEAKER_07]: That was like one of the biggest.

[01:10:29] [SPEAKER_07]: Kind of like.

[01:10:30] [SPEAKER_07]: Slaps in the face for me.

[01:10:31] [SPEAKER_07]: You know what I mean?

[01:10:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Also.

[01:10:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I had to deal with a lot of slander during that movie.

[01:10:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Because a lot of people went to the go-to of.

[01:10:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh hey.

[01:10:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Apocalypse looks like a Power Rangers villain.

[01:10:39] [SPEAKER_04]: That is shade on Power Rangers villains.

[01:10:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you very much.

[01:10:41] [SPEAKER_04]: There are several that look better than him.

[01:10:44] [SPEAKER_04]: So don't be like.

[01:10:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Throwing that out.

[01:10:45] [SPEAKER_08]: I can see the correlation.

[01:10:46] [SPEAKER_08]: But.

[01:10:47] [SPEAKER_08]: Yes.

[01:10:47] [SPEAKER_04]: But don't.

[01:10:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't be throwing unnecessary jabs.

[01:10:50] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[01:10:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:10:50] [SPEAKER_04]: The second one would be.

[01:10:52] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a really good one.

[01:10:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I played it right now.

[01:10:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I played it a lot.

[01:10:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Um.

[01:10:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Do do do do do do do do.

[01:10:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm literally looking around my room.

[01:11:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Um.

[01:11:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Office is like.

[01:11:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Stack.

[01:11:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I will say.

[01:11:04] [SPEAKER_04]: So are we.

[01:11:04] [SPEAKER_04]: We're like.

[01:11:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh look at that.

[01:11:05] [SPEAKER_04]: The.

[01:11:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh.

[01:11:07] [SPEAKER_04]: So.

[01:11:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Do I have any.

[01:11:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Um.

[01:11:09] [SPEAKER_04]: So are you like.

[01:11:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Star Wars or G.I.

[01:11:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Joe fans?

[01:11:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah.

[01:11:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Both.

[01:11:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Both.

[01:11:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Both.

[01:11:14] [SPEAKER_07]: If you.

[01:11:14] [SPEAKER_07]: If you.

[01:11:15] [SPEAKER_07]: If you ever have the time.

[01:11:16] [SPEAKER_07]: And you go back and listen to like.

[01:11:17] [SPEAKER_07]: Our first couple episodes.

[01:11:19] [SPEAKER_07]: When we like.

[01:11:19] [SPEAKER_07]: Really did.

[01:11:20] [SPEAKER_07]: Growing up geeky.

[01:11:21] [SPEAKER_07]: We talked about how.

[01:11:22] [SPEAKER_07]: Transformers.

[01:11:23] [SPEAKER_07]: G.I.

[01:11:23] [SPEAKER_07]: Joe.

[01:11:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Um.

[01:11:26] [SPEAKER_07]: All that kind of stuff.

[01:11:27] [SPEAKER_07]: Uh.

[01:11:27] [SPEAKER_07]: Was.

[01:11:27] [SPEAKER_07]: Kind of what introduced us to.

[01:11:30] [SPEAKER_07]: Being.

[01:11:30] [SPEAKER_07]: Being nerds.

[01:11:30] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh.

[01:11:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[01:11:31] [SPEAKER_04]: So I think.

[01:11:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[01:11:32] [SPEAKER_04]: So I'll do this.

[01:11:32] [SPEAKER_04]: So I'm.

[01:11:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm technically cheating.

[01:11:34] [SPEAKER_04]: But it's not a cheat.

[01:11:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Because it's.

[01:11:35] [SPEAKER_04]: They're.

[01:11:36] [SPEAKER_04]: They're related.

[01:11:36] [SPEAKER_04]: So um.

[01:11:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Um.

[01:11:37] [SPEAKER_04]: There's a.

[01:11:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Renegade Game Studios.

[01:11:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Has a.

[01:11:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Um.

[01:11:40] [SPEAKER_04]: A series of deck building games.

[01:11:42] [SPEAKER_04]: That are.

[01:11:43] [SPEAKER_04]: All of the various Hasbro properties.

[01:11:45] [SPEAKER_04]: So they have one that is.

[01:11:46] [SPEAKER_04]: G.I.

[01:11:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Joe.

[01:11:47] [SPEAKER_04]: They have one that is Transformers.

[01:11:48] [SPEAKER_04]: They have one that is Power Rangers.

[01:11:49] [SPEAKER_04]: And then also they have one that is My Little Pony.

[01:11:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Specifically though.

[01:11:52] [SPEAKER_04]: In our conversation.

[01:11:53] [SPEAKER_04]: The um.

[01:11:54] [SPEAKER_04]: The G.I.

[01:11:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Joe.

[01:11:55] [SPEAKER_04]: The G.I.

[01:11:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Joe.

[01:11:55] [SPEAKER_04]: And the Transformers.

[01:11:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Um.

[01:11:57] [SPEAKER_04]: They're.

[01:11:58] [SPEAKER_04]: They're very good at like.

[01:11:59] [SPEAKER_04]: They all kind of.

[01:12:00] [SPEAKER_04]: So like.

[01:12:00] [SPEAKER_04]: A deck building game is essentially like.

[01:12:02] [SPEAKER_04]: You're.

[01:12:03] [SPEAKER_04]: You're trying to add cards.

[01:12:04] [SPEAKER_04]: You're trying to purchase cards throughout the game.

[01:12:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Add them to your deck.

[01:12:07] [SPEAKER_04]: So that your deck becomes more powerful over time.

[01:12:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:12:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And so with G.I.

[01:12:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Joe.

[01:12:11] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a lot of like.

[01:12:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Trying to add soldiers.

[01:12:12] [SPEAKER_04]: But you can also.

[01:12:13] [SPEAKER_04]: You have vehicles.

[01:12:14] [SPEAKER_04]: That you have to send on missions.

[01:12:15] [SPEAKER_04]: You have different types of vehicles.

[01:12:16] [SPEAKER_04]: G.I.

[01:12:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Joe is so good about vehicles.

[01:12:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Like the base game even has a little hanger.

[01:12:20] [SPEAKER_04]: For you to like.

[01:12:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Put your vehicle cards in.

[01:12:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And you can team up cooperatively.

[01:12:24] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a cooperative game.

[01:12:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Against the Cobra side.

[01:12:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:12:26] [SPEAKER_04]: And so it's just.

[01:12:27] [SPEAKER_04]: It does a really good job of like.

[01:12:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Capturing the spirit of the franchise.

[01:12:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's also just like.

[01:12:33] [SPEAKER_04]: A super fun.

[01:12:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Easily accessible.

[01:12:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Deck building game.

[01:12:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And there's like.

[01:12:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Three expansions already.

[01:12:38] [SPEAKER_04]: So like.

[01:12:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Serpentor has his own.

[01:12:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Expansion.

[01:12:40] [SPEAKER_04]: There's one that's coming out.

[01:12:42] [SPEAKER_04]: That I'm forgetting the name.

[01:12:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Sorry.

[01:12:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Serpentor.

[01:12:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I bet.

[01:12:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Forget the name.

[01:12:47] [SPEAKER_04]: It's called.

[01:12:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Cold Snap.

[01:12:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Cold Snap.

[01:12:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Is the new expansion.

[01:12:52] [SPEAKER_04]: So like.

[01:12:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Deals with.

[01:12:53] [SPEAKER_04]: It brings in all.

[01:12:54] [SPEAKER_04]: The various like.

[01:12:56] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:12:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Winter Joes.

[01:12:57] [SPEAKER_04]: And like the winter villains.

[01:12:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh.

[01:13:03] [SPEAKER_04]: So like.

[01:13:03] [SPEAKER_04]: They're doing that.

[01:13:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Each and every time.

[01:13:05] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's.

[01:13:05] [SPEAKER_04]: There's a.

[01:13:06] [SPEAKER_04]: The Transformers one.

[01:13:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Is a lot like it.

[01:13:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Because it's also a deck building game.

[01:13:10] [SPEAKER_04]: It's cooperative.

[01:13:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And obviously you're the Autobots.

[01:13:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's like.

[01:13:12] [SPEAKER_04]: The Dinobots are in there.

[01:13:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And then.

[01:13:14] [SPEAKER_04]: What's happening though.

[01:13:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Is they just announced.

[01:13:16] [SPEAKER_04]: There's a crossover coming.

[01:13:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Between the franchises.

[01:13:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's like.

[01:13:20] [SPEAKER_04]: New alliances.

[01:13:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And so it's literally.

[01:13:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:13:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Transformers.

[01:13:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Deck building game.

[01:13:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Crossover.

[01:13:26] [SPEAKER_07]: Dude.

[01:13:26] [SPEAKER_07]: Have you seen this thing?

[01:13:27] [SPEAKER_07]: That's awesome.

[01:13:27] [SPEAKER_04]: It's.

[01:13:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh.

[01:13:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Is that the Lego?

[01:13:29] [SPEAKER_07]: It's the Lego Optimus Prime.

[01:13:31] [SPEAKER_07]: And it actually transforms into the truck.

[01:13:32] [SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[01:13:32] [SPEAKER_07]: That thing is awesome.

[01:13:33] [SPEAKER_07]: It's so dope.

[01:13:36] [SPEAKER_08]: That needs to be.

[01:13:37] [SPEAKER_08]: In your background.

[01:13:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:13:40] [SPEAKER_04]: So that.

[01:13:41] [SPEAKER_04]: So that would be my recommend.

[01:13:43] [SPEAKER_04]: My recommendation.

[01:13:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Hell yeah.

[01:13:44] [SPEAKER_07]: That's cool.

[01:13:45] [SPEAKER_07]: That's good.

[01:13:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:13:46] [SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[01:13:46] [SPEAKER_07]: So.

[01:13:46] [SPEAKER_07]: Coming up on time.

[01:13:48] [SPEAKER_07]: We've got.

[01:13:48] [SPEAKER_07]: We've got some wrap up questions for you here.

[01:13:50] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[01:13:50] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[01:13:51] [SPEAKER_07]: Mainly just because.

[01:13:52] [SPEAKER_07]: Again.

[01:13:53] [SPEAKER_07]: It's just fun stuff.

[01:13:54] [SPEAKER_07]: Right.

[01:13:55] [SPEAKER_07]: So.

[01:13:55] [SPEAKER_07]: Got to ask you.

[01:13:56] [SPEAKER_07]: This is the most important question.

[01:13:57] [SPEAKER_07]: You're ever going to be asked.

[01:13:58] [SPEAKER_07]: In your life.

[01:13:59] [SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[01:13:59] [SPEAKER_07]: Wow.

[01:14:00] [SPEAKER_07]: Life changing.

[01:14:00] [SPEAKER_07]: Especially because.

[01:14:01] [SPEAKER_07]: You know.

[01:14:02] [SPEAKER_07]: Latino.

[01:14:03] [SPEAKER_07]: This is like.

[01:14:03] [SPEAKER_07]: This is a big deal for us.

[01:14:05] [SPEAKER_07]: What's your favorite kind of taco?

[01:14:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh man.

[01:14:10] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what's.

[01:14:11] [SPEAKER_04]: So I'm going to.

[01:14:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to say right out.

[01:14:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Langua is my favorite taco.

[01:14:15] [SPEAKER_04]: You're.

[01:14:16] [SPEAKER_07]: Hispanic bro.

[01:14:18] [SPEAKER_04]: There's nothing.

[01:14:18] [SPEAKER_04]: There's nothing like.

[01:14:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean look.

[01:14:20] [SPEAKER_04]: There's nothing like cow's tongue.

[01:14:21] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[01:14:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry.

[01:14:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Like whatever.

[01:14:23] [SPEAKER_04]: There's nothing like.

[01:14:23] [SPEAKER_04]: There's nothing like.

[01:14:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Langua.

[01:14:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[01:14:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I.

[01:14:25] [SPEAKER_04]: It was funny though.

[01:14:26] [SPEAKER_04]: But then.

[01:14:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[01:14:27] [SPEAKER_04]: But also like.

[01:14:28] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:14:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Chorizo.

[01:14:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh God.

[01:14:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Potato and egg.

[01:14:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I love potato and egg tacos.

[01:14:32] [SPEAKER_04]: But.

[01:14:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And then also.

[01:14:33] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:14:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Babacoa.

[01:14:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't get a lot of that here.

[01:14:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Like there's.

[01:14:36] [SPEAKER_04]: We had a little spot.

[01:14:38] [SPEAKER_04]: They used to do all these.

[01:14:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And like.

[01:14:39] [SPEAKER_04]: They closed down.

[01:14:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And ever since.

[01:14:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I've been looking for that space.

[01:14:42] [SPEAKER_04]: And we finally found one.

[01:14:43] [SPEAKER_04]: When my mom was in town.

[01:14:44] [SPEAKER_04]: They scouted out a taco truck.

[01:14:46] [SPEAKER_04]: And found like this particular one.

[01:14:47] [SPEAKER_04]: That's like fantastic.

[01:14:48] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah.

[01:14:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Like we.

[01:14:50] [SPEAKER_04]: We were.

[01:14:50] [SPEAKER_04]: When I was at rumble.

[01:14:51] [SPEAKER_04]: We were actually with some other reporters.

[01:14:54] [SPEAKER_04]: And we ended up.

[01:14:55] [SPEAKER_04]: They were asking like one of them for like.

[01:14:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Where to go for tacos.

[01:14:58] [SPEAKER_04]: And like we had this whole conversation.

[01:14:59] [SPEAKER_04]: It was like back and forth.

[01:15:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Like what's your favorite taco.

[01:15:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And it was just like.

[01:15:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh man.

[01:15:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I love being.

[01:15:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I love being around people that like tacos.

[01:15:07] [SPEAKER_07]: The.

[01:15:08] [SPEAKER_07]: The.

[01:15:08] [SPEAKER_07]: The.

[01:15:08] [SPEAKER_07]: Our quote unquote parent company.

[01:15:10] [SPEAKER_07]: Is time for tacos media.

[01:15:11] [SPEAKER_07]: So I mean like.

[01:15:13] [SPEAKER_06]: Brilliant.

[01:15:14] [SPEAKER_07]: I know right.

[01:15:15] [SPEAKER_07]: So what's some advice you.

[01:15:16] [SPEAKER_07]: You would give to anybody.

[01:15:17] [SPEAKER_07]: Trying to get into the industry.

[01:15:19] [SPEAKER_07]: Because you know.

[01:15:20] [SPEAKER_07]: We're trying to get into this industry.

[01:15:21] [SPEAKER_07]: So.

[01:15:22] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.

[01:15:22] [SPEAKER_08]: We have a podcast.

[01:15:23] [SPEAKER_08]: We're making no money.

[01:15:24] [SPEAKER_08]: We have full-time jobs.

[01:15:26] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm spending more money than we've ever made.

[01:15:28] [SPEAKER_07]: So I mean like you know.

[01:15:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I understand.

[01:15:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:15:31] [SPEAKER_04]: No.

[01:15:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.

[01:15:32] [SPEAKER_07]: Awesome standards being an audio engineer.

[01:15:34] [SPEAKER_07]: So it's just kind of like you know.

[01:15:36] [SPEAKER_07]: Very high audio standards.

[01:15:38] [SPEAKER_08]: It's hard to afford tacos right now.

[01:15:40] [SPEAKER_08]: So.

[01:15:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I will say for me.

[01:15:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Obviously I can only speak from my own experience.

[01:15:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And what has worked for me.

[01:15:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Is.

[01:15:48] [SPEAKER_04]: One of those things.

[01:15:49] [SPEAKER_04]: There's two things that work for me.

[01:15:51] [SPEAKER_04]: But one is like super cliche.

[01:15:52] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm not going to say it.

[01:15:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Because it's dumb.

[01:15:54] [SPEAKER_04]: The other one.

[01:15:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Never surrender.

[01:15:57] [SPEAKER_04]: But it's like one of those.

[01:15:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[01:15:59] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like one of those.

[01:16:00] [SPEAKER_04]: If you say ruthless aggression.

[01:16:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to get so mad at you.

[01:16:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Look.

[01:16:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[01:16:03] [SPEAKER_04]: It's all.

[01:16:04] [SPEAKER_04]: It's about hustle.

[01:16:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Loyalty and respect.

[01:16:05] [SPEAKER_04]: John Cena.

[01:16:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I had to.

[01:16:09] [SPEAKER_03]: I had to.

[01:16:11] [SPEAKER_03]: What?

[01:16:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Don't you do.

[01:16:12] [SPEAKER_03]: I hate those.

[01:16:14] [SPEAKER_03]: I hate.

[01:16:15] [SPEAKER_03]: I hate what they had so much.

[01:16:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh my God.

[01:16:18] [SPEAKER_03]: They're the worst enemy of wrestling.

[01:16:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[01:16:21] [SPEAKER_03]: I cannot stand them.

[01:16:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh my God.

[01:16:23] [SPEAKER_07]: The best part is on the soundboard.

[01:16:24] [SPEAKER_07]: Because I have it so short.

[01:16:25] [SPEAKER_07]: I can just.

[01:16:26] [SPEAKER_07]: What?

[01:16:26] [SPEAKER_07]: The entire time.

[01:16:28] [SPEAKER_08]: Side note.

[01:16:29] [SPEAKER_08]: The Cody and Paul Heyman promo.

[01:16:32] [SPEAKER_08]: Not one.

[01:16:33] [SPEAKER_08]: What?

[01:16:33] [SPEAKER_08]: Chance.

[01:16:34] [SPEAKER_08]: No.

[01:16:34] [SPEAKER_08]: And it was a beautiful.

[01:16:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Sorry.

[01:16:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Because.

[01:16:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:16:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Because how are you going to do that during that?

[01:16:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Think of you.

[01:16:37] [SPEAKER_04]: That was amazing.

[01:16:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:16:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:16:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:16:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:16:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:16:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:16:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:16:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I will say for me.

[01:16:40] [SPEAKER_04]: What's really been something that has helped me along the way.

[01:16:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And also helped me stay sane is diversifying.

[01:16:46] [SPEAKER_04]: There were.

[01:16:47] [SPEAKER_04]: For.

[01:16:47] [SPEAKER_04]: For a long time.

[01:16:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And there are still.

[01:16:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Look.

[01:16:49] [SPEAKER_04]: There's still.

[01:16:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Everyone has their own method and ways of.

[01:16:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Of like attacking things.

[01:16:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And doing what works best for them.

[01:16:54] [SPEAKER_04]: So.

[01:16:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not going to say that's wrong.

[01:16:56] [SPEAKER_04]: But what I will say for me is like.

[01:16:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I know there was this thing for a while of like.

[01:16:59] [SPEAKER_04]: You want to be an expert on like one thing.

[01:17:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Like you want to be an expert on that one thing.

[01:17:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And then know everything there is to know about that thing.

[01:17:05] [SPEAKER_04]: And so that way like.

[01:17:07] [SPEAKER_04]: You have this like encyclopedic knowledge.

[01:17:08] [SPEAKER_04]: And that is amazing to have.

[01:17:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And as someone who has always struggled with that.

[01:17:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I don't have.

[01:17:14] [SPEAKER_04]: My memory.

[01:17:14] [SPEAKER_04]: My memory don't work that way.

[01:17:16] [SPEAKER_04]: It does not work that way.

[01:17:17] [SPEAKER_04]: And so.

[01:17:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I was just like.

[01:17:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I am very knowledgeable about.

[01:17:21] [SPEAKER_04]: About certain things more than others obviously.

[01:17:23] [SPEAKER_04]: But I've always just liked a bunch of different things.

[01:17:25] [SPEAKER_04]: As.

[01:17:26] [SPEAKER_04]: As my bio kind of alludes to.

[01:17:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:17:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I like a lot of different stuff.

[01:17:30] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm passionate about stuff.

[01:17:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And I know some of it doesn't necessarily fall into the same Venn diagram.

[01:17:35] [SPEAKER_04]: But that was okay.

[01:17:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that was just something that I.

[01:17:37] [SPEAKER_04]: That kind of.

[01:17:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Something that keeps me.

[01:17:40] [SPEAKER_04]: When one genre.

[01:17:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Or one thing.

[01:17:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Is just not clicking for me.

[01:17:45] [SPEAKER_04]: It's awesome to be able to have these other like four or five.

[01:17:48] [SPEAKER_04]: To shift over to.

[01:17:49] [SPEAKER_04]: And like.

[01:17:49] [SPEAKER_04]: It's made it easier for me to keep the.

[01:17:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Love and passion and joy.

[01:17:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:17:54] [SPEAKER_04]: That this stuff is supposed to bring.

[01:17:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Alive.

[01:17:57] [SPEAKER_04]: If I'm not just.

[01:17:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Constantly immersed into one thing.

[01:18:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And I ride or die for that one thing.

[01:18:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And if that thing sucks for 10 years.

[01:18:05] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm out of.

[01:18:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm up a creek.

[01:18:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Because.

[01:18:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Both.

[01:18:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Both professionally.

[01:18:09] [SPEAKER_04]: And personally.

[01:18:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Because.

[01:18:11] [SPEAKER_06]: Right.

[01:18:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's be real.

[01:18:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that's the thing.

[01:18:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:18:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:18:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Like franchises ebb and flow.

[01:18:15] [SPEAKER_04]: And you'll go dormant for five years on something.

[01:18:17] [SPEAKER_04]: And then it comes back.

[01:18:18] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's great.

[01:18:19] [SPEAKER_04]: But like.

[01:18:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Like you know.

[01:18:20] [SPEAKER_04]: What are you doing during the other five years?

[01:18:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:18:22] [SPEAKER_04]: You gotta live.

[01:18:23] [SPEAKER_04]: So.

[01:18:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Gotta keep it fresh.

[01:18:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:18:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:18:25] [SPEAKER_04]: So for me.

[01:18:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Both.

[01:18:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Both on a personal level.

[01:18:27] [SPEAKER_04]: And a professional level.

[01:18:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Knowing.

[01:18:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Finding my passions.

[01:18:31] [SPEAKER_04]: And being okay with the fact that like.

[01:18:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I won't know everything about.

[01:18:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Everything about those particular things sometimes.

[01:18:36] [SPEAKER_04]: But I will know a lot.

[01:18:37] [SPEAKER_04]: And the things I do talk about and like.

[01:18:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Are I'm passionate about.

[01:18:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's okay.

[01:18:42] [SPEAKER_04]: That I'm not an expert.

[01:18:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Across the board in one thing.

[01:18:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And nothing else.

[01:18:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Like yeah.

[01:18:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I might lose out some things because of that.

[01:18:48] [SPEAKER_04]: But ultimately I think.

[01:18:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like I've benefited way more than.

[01:18:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Than lost out.

[01:18:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think that helps you.

[01:18:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Because it helps you.

[01:18:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Look at gaming right now.

[01:18:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:18:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Gaming is huge.

[01:18:58] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's.

[01:18:59] [SPEAKER_04]: It's dominating Twitch.

[01:19:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's dominating YouTube.

[01:19:02] [SPEAKER_04]: And there's so many facets of it.

[01:19:03] [SPEAKER_04]: But like.

[01:19:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Look at the industry.

[01:19:05] [SPEAKER_04]: The industry is rough.

[01:19:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:19:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:19:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's.

[01:19:09] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:19:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I've had friends that are like.

[01:19:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Just suddenly.

[01:19:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Like okay.

[01:19:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Like they're.

[01:19:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Like whole places are shutting down.

[01:19:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean jeez.

[01:19:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Like Washington Post.

[01:19:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Just shut down their whole gaming section.

[01:19:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:19:19] [SPEAKER_04]: So you have to.

[01:19:20] [SPEAKER_04]: To me.

[01:19:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Do what you can.

[01:19:22] [SPEAKER_04]: You can't predict everything.

[01:19:23] [SPEAKER_04]: You can't control everything.

[01:19:24] [SPEAKER_04]: But you have to also do what you can.

[01:19:25] [SPEAKER_04]: To like.

[01:19:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Make yourself.

[01:19:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Like okay.

[01:19:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Well.

[01:19:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to just tie to one boat.

[01:19:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I want to.

[01:19:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I want to be able to be flexible.

[01:19:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And I want to adapt.

[01:19:33] [SPEAKER_04]: So that has helped me a lot.

[01:19:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And that is something I recommend.

[01:19:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Because if one place doesn't work out.

[01:19:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Your.

[01:19:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Your opportunities.

[01:19:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Open tenfold.

[01:19:41] [SPEAKER_04]: If you're not just tied.

[01:19:43] [SPEAKER_04]: To one specific thing.

[01:19:44] [SPEAKER_04]: If you find a couple franchises.

[01:19:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Or even a couple genres that you like.

[01:19:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Explore them.

[01:19:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Find what you like about them.

[01:19:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And go for it.

[01:19:52] [SPEAKER_04]: And you'll learn along the way.

[01:19:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And you'll fumble.

[01:19:54] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's fine.

[01:19:54] [SPEAKER_04]: And.

[01:19:55] [SPEAKER_04]: But you'll.

[01:19:55] [SPEAKER_04]: You'll eventually get to a point where like.

[01:19:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey.

[01:19:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm pretty.

[01:19:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I got my crap together on like.

[01:20:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Three or four of these things.

[01:20:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And I can go.

[01:20:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I can lead with that.

[01:20:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:20:03] [SPEAKER_04]: One of the things I did when I interviewed for comic book.

[01:20:05] [SPEAKER_04]: I literally was like.

[01:20:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I know.

[01:20:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it's actually might be verbatim what I said.

[01:20:08] [SPEAKER_04]: But it was.

[01:20:09] [SPEAKER_04]: If they asked me like.

[01:20:10] [SPEAKER_04]: What.

[01:20:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Like how knowledgeable was I about like.

[01:20:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Geek topics and certain things.

[01:20:13] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was like.

[01:20:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I know a lot about all of these things.

[01:20:16] [SPEAKER_04]: The only two things that.

[01:20:18] [SPEAKER_04]: At the time.

[01:20:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I know.

[01:20:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Pretty much next to nothing about.

[01:20:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Is Doctor Who.

[01:20:22] [SPEAKER_04]: And Star Trek.

[01:20:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't ask me to do those things.

[01:20:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm in the same boat.

[01:20:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:20:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like.

[01:20:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I know of them.

[01:20:29] [SPEAKER_04]: And even Doctor Who.

[01:20:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I know one doctor.

[01:20:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I love that doctor.

[01:20:32] [SPEAKER_04]: It is the 11th doctor.

[01:20:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:20:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I still stand by Chris Eccleston forever.

[01:20:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Because that's the doctor who I know.

[01:20:38] [SPEAKER_04]: But like.

[01:20:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know much outside of that.

[01:20:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Those are the ones.

[01:20:42] [SPEAKER_04]: So I can.

[01:20:42] [SPEAKER_04]: And I can learn.

[01:20:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And I can adapt.

[01:20:44] [SPEAKER_04]: So don't be afraid to like.

[01:20:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Dive into something new too.

[01:20:47] [SPEAKER_04]: So that would be my thing.

[01:20:48] [SPEAKER_07]: I dig that.

[01:20:49] [SPEAKER_07]: I dig that.

[01:20:49] [SPEAKER_07]: Just a quick comment.

[01:20:50] [SPEAKER_07]: You asked us earlier.

[01:20:51] [SPEAKER_07]: If we.

[01:20:51] [SPEAKER_07]: If we like G.I.

[01:20:52] [SPEAKER_07]: Joe.

[01:20:52] [SPEAKER_07]: And I just realized.

[01:20:53] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm wearing a Cobra shirt right now.

[01:20:55] [SPEAKER_07]: Nice.

[01:20:56] [SPEAKER_07]: I forgot about that.

[01:20:58] [SPEAKER_07]: I looked down as we were talking just right now.

[01:21:00] [SPEAKER_07]: And I moved my camera.

[01:21:01] [SPEAKER_07]: I looked down.

[01:21:01] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm like.

[01:21:01] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh wait.

[01:21:02] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm wearing a Cobra shirt.

[01:21:03] [SPEAKER_07]: Of course I like the Joe.

[01:21:03] [SPEAKER_08]: You know.

[01:21:06] [SPEAKER_08]: Amazing.

[01:21:06] [SPEAKER_08]: I mean.

[01:21:07] [SPEAKER_08]: Some of us wear distance nerding shirts.

[01:21:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:21:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Look at that.

[01:21:10] [SPEAKER_08]: Repping the brand right there.

[01:21:12] [SPEAKER_07]: He gets mad.

[01:21:13] [SPEAKER_07]: Because I don't rep the brand every show.

[01:21:15] [SPEAKER_07]: But you know what.

[01:21:16] [SPEAKER_07]: He's on one episode a week.

[01:21:17] [SPEAKER_07]: And I'm on.

[01:21:19] [SPEAKER_07]: You got more shirts.

[01:21:21] [SPEAKER_07]: I have more shirts to sell.

[01:21:23] [SPEAKER_07]: There we go.

[01:21:24] [SPEAKER_07]: So I got.

[01:21:24] [SPEAKER_07]: I got.

[01:21:25] [SPEAKER_07]: I got another important question for you here.

[01:21:26] [SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[01:21:27] [SPEAKER_07]: Bane.

[01:21:27] [SPEAKER_07]: El Muerto.

[01:21:28] [SPEAKER_07]: Which is like.

[01:21:29] [SPEAKER_07]: You know.

[01:21:29] [SPEAKER_07]: Half a character.

[01:21:30] [SPEAKER_07]: Nobody really knows about.

[01:21:31] [SPEAKER_07]: And The Rock.

[01:21:32] [SPEAKER_07]: Get in a fight.

[01:21:32] [SPEAKER_07]: Who wins?

[01:21:33] [SPEAKER_07]: Base forms only though.

[01:21:35] [SPEAKER_07]: So.

[01:21:35] [SPEAKER_07]: So not Bane with Venom.

[01:21:37] [SPEAKER_07]: Not El Muerto.

[01:21:38] [SPEAKER_07]: With his weird ass.

[01:21:39] [SPEAKER_07]: You know.

[01:21:39] [SPEAKER_07]: Super jumpy powers.

[01:21:41] [SPEAKER_07]: And The Rock is just.

[01:21:43] [SPEAKER_07]: I mean.

[01:21:43] [SPEAKER_07]: He has his own superpowers to begin with.

[01:21:44] [SPEAKER_07]: But.

[01:21:45] [SPEAKER_07]: You know.

[01:21:45] [SPEAKER_08]: Without the eyebrow.

[01:21:46] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't.

[01:21:46] [SPEAKER_08]: Without the eyebrow.

[01:21:47] [SPEAKER_07]: Dwayne Johnson without the eyebrow.

[01:21:53] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:21:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I got to go Bane.

[01:21:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Bane.

[01:21:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Because I feel like Bane has shown.

[01:21:57] [SPEAKER_04]: In other comics.

[01:21:58] [SPEAKER_04]: And other iterations.

[01:22:00] [SPEAKER_04]: That even without the Venom.

[01:22:02] [SPEAKER_04]: He's still a scary dude.

[01:22:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And he's still a.

[01:22:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:22:05] [SPEAKER_04]: A lethal dude.

[01:22:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Even when he wasn't super reliant on the Venom.

[01:22:09] [SPEAKER_04]: So I think.

[01:22:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I almost said The Rock.

[01:22:11] [SPEAKER_04]: But.

[01:22:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Because I think.

[01:22:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I think they would both.

[01:22:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I think they all three would hold their own.

[01:22:15] [SPEAKER_04]: But I think Bane.

[01:22:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I put my money on Bane.

[01:22:16] [SPEAKER_07]: Dwayne Johnson.

[01:22:17] [SPEAKER_07]: You are nothing to me.

[01:22:19] [SPEAKER_07]: I would beat you like I broke the bat.

[01:22:22] [SPEAKER_07]: So.

[01:22:23] [SPEAKER_07]: What's next for you man?

[01:22:24] [SPEAKER_07]: Right from Comic Book Nation.

[01:22:25] [SPEAKER_08]: Besides the show on Friday.

[01:22:27] [SPEAKER_08]: 9 a.m.

[01:22:28] [SPEAKER_08]: Pacific Standard Time.

[01:22:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:22:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Comic Book Nation.

[01:22:34] [SPEAKER_04]: We got a big show.

[01:22:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Tomorrow.

[01:22:36] [SPEAKER_04]: We got.

[01:22:36] [SPEAKER_04]: We're going to be doing our hype rankings.

[01:22:39] [SPEAKER_04]: For the new DC slate.

[01:22:40] [SPEAKER_04]: So that's going to get super.

[01:22:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Super.

[01:22:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure that's going to get super divisive.

[01:22:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I know that's going to be a big debate.

[01:22:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Big discussion.

[01:22:47] [SPEAKER_04]: And then.

[01:22:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:22:48] [SPEAKER_04]: We got Elimination Chamber coming up.

[01:22:50] [SPEAKER_04]: So I'm going to be kind of head down in that.

[01:22:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Also NXT Sand of the Liver is coming up.

[01:22:53] [SPEAKER_04]: So.

[01:22:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Nice.

[01:22:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I'll be in that.

[01:22:55] [SPEAKER_04]: As far as for me.

[01:22:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Is like going places.

[01:22:58] [SPEAKER_04]: And stuff like that.

[01:22:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I think.

[01:22:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I might honestly not go anywhere this year.

[01:23:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Until Gen Con.

[01:23:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I.

[01:23:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I got to go to Gen Con last year.

[01:23:05] [SPEAKER_04]: For the first time.

[01:23:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Super hype.

[01:23:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And.

[01:23:07] [SPEAKER_04]: But I only could go for one day.

[01:23:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And then the whole family went and stuff.

[01:23:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And this year.

[01:23:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I am going all four days.

[01:23:17] [SPEAKER_04]: So.

[01:23:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Very cool.

[01:23:18] [SPEAKER_04]: To really make that a thing this year.

[01:23:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And then the rumble was kind of my.

[01:23:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that was the one.

[01:23:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I really wanted to do.

[01:23:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know about Comic Cons.

[01:23:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Or anything like that this year.

[01:23:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Probably not.

[01:23:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Also.

[01:23:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I will say like.

[01:23:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Traveling more and more now.

[01:23:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I have to leave my.

[01:23:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I have to leave my little one.

[01:23:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And.

[01:23:35] [SPEAKER_04]: That's.

[01:23:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Like man.

[01:23:36] [SPEAKER_04]: That sucks.

[01:23:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Like we.

[01:23:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Look.

[01:23:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Pandemic.

[01:23:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Parents.

[01:23:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Understand.

[01:23:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:23:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Like been around our kids a lot.

[01:23:43] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[01:23:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And you get.

[01:23:44] [SPEAKER_04]: And like she was born literally right before the world shut down.

[01:23:47] [SPEAKER_04]: So.

[01:23:48] [SPEAKER_04]: It's.

[01:23:48] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:23:48] [SPEAKER_04]: There's not a lot of times that I'm not near her.

[01:23:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And.

[01:23:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:23:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:23:51] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:23:52] [SPEAKER_04]: So going away.

[01:23:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And being out of state even.

[01:23:54] [SPEAKER_04]: And so.

[01:23:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:23:55] [SPEAKER_04]: That's.

[01:23:55] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:23:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Not the easiest thing.

[01:23:56] [SPEAKER_04]: So.

[01:23:57] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah.

[01:23:58] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's why I'm excited about Gen Con.

[01:23:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Because they're going with Tone.

[01:24:00] [SPEAKER_08]: Awesome.

[01:24:00] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah.

[01:24:01] [SPEAKER_04]: That's.

[01:24:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that's.

[01:24:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Much of what's next for me.

[01:24:03] [SPEAKER_04]: We'll see.

[01:24:03] [SPEAKER_04]: We'll see what else the year holds.

[01:24:05] [SPEAKER_04]: But it should be fun.

[01:24:06] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[01:24:06] [SPEAKER_07]: Well now it's time for pluggables man.

[01:24:08] [SPEAKER_07]: Put yourself over.

[01:24:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:24:12] [SPEAKER_04]: You can hit me up on Twitter at Matt Aguilar CB.

[01:24:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I tend to be the most active there.

[01:24:16] [SPEAKER_04]: But I am trying to also be more active on Instagram.

[01:24:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And that is also.

[01:24:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I believe that is also Matt Aguilar CB.

[01:24:24] [SPEAKER_04]: If I'm correct.

[01:24:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Or it might be Night of O.A.

[01:24:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Either way.

[01:24:26] [SPEAKER_04]: And then.

[01:24:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Over on Comic Book Nation.

[01:24:45] [SPEAKER_07]: That's awesome.

[01:24:46] [SPEAKER_07]: I saw that box.

[01:24:47] [SPEAKER_07]: That.

[01:24:48] [SPEAKER_07]: That unboxing you did.

[01:24:49] [SPEAKER_07]: And I was like.

[01:24:50] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh that's dope.

[01:24:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my God.

[01:24:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:24:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my God.

[01:24:53] [SPEAKER_04]: The dinosaur has already been claimed.

[01:24:54] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like.

[01:24:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Amber took it from my.

[01:24:55] [SPEAKER_04]: From my table.

[01:24:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I was going to say.

[01:24:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Did your daughter take it?

[01:24:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:24:58] [SPEAKER_00]: She took it.

[01:24:58] [SPEAKER_00]: She took the.

[01:24:59] [SPEAKER_04]: She took everything.

[01:24:59] [SPEAKER_04]: She took the stickers.

[01:25:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And she took the things.

[01:25:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like.

[01:25:02] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh there you go.

[01:25:03] [SPEAKER_04]: But.

[01:25:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:25:10] [SPEAKER_04]: From the show.

[01:25:10] [SPEAKER_04]: On that page.

[01:25:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Plus all the wrestling interviews.

[01:26:38] [SPEAKER_09]: I was going to kick the hell out of him.

[01:26:40] [SPEAKER_09]: But because he's got taste in podcasts.

[01:26:43] [SPEAKER_09]: So do yourself a favor.

[01:26:44] [SPEAKER_09]: Listen to the Distance Nerding Podcast.
