[00:00:26] [SPEAKER_05]: What's up nerds? Your boy Young Phil coming at you with a special LA Comic Con edition of...
[00:00:30] [SPEAKER_01]: A Comic Conversation!
[00:00:35] [SPEAKER_05]: We got a chance to interview entertainment journalist Jamie Jirak. So call up Clark Gregg, write up your interviews, come up with a magical theory. It's time for...
[00:00:42] [SPEAKER_01]: A Comic Conversation!
[00:00:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Alright, what's recording now?
[00:00:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Whatever happens, happens.
[00:00:49] [SPEAKER_05]: There you go. I'm using all this at the beginning of the episode anyway, so there you go. As if I'm not writing an intro. It's fine.
[00:00:54] [SPEAKER_04]: We'll put it, we'll fix it in post.
[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.
[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Fix it in post.
[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_04]: There is no post.
[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Alright, I'll dive in.
[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's a podcast. It doesn't work that way.
[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Our guest is an entertainment journalist, so fancy. According to Blank Check Podcast, also known as a nerd reporter, Jamie has been writing and talking about the geek industry for years she's written for and has been a star podcaster for ComicBook.com Phase Zero.
[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_04]: She's interviewed huge Hollywood celebs like the cast of Agatha All Along and Harrison Ford for Indiana Jones. With all her insider MCU knowledge, she just may be Mephisto. Please welcome Jamie Jirak. How are you?
[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_02]: That was such an amazing intro. Thank you so much.
[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_05]: And it's confirmed, you are Mephisto.
[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, 100%.
[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_05]: They said it.
[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Totally.
[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Episode three, they said it.
[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I love that you did that Blank Check, because I think that's so funny, but it has made some people mistakenly think I'm in any way associated with that podcast. But if anyone from Blank Check is listening, I would love to come on the podcast.
[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, this is now a promo for Blank Check.
[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, exactly.
[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_05]: If anybody from Blank Check is listening, we'd also like to come on the podcast.
[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that'd be great. That'd be great. We'll all be part of it.
[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly, right.
[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_05]: We're a team now.
[00:01:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly. Now, you're part of our team. We're part of your team. We're interconnected. It's fine.
[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_04]: All right. Before we get into the story, we have a segment on our show called, our show is Distance Nerding.
[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_04]: The segment's called Growing Up Geeky.
[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Ooh, okay.
[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_04]: What did you geek out on when you were a kid?
[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I've always been obsessed with everything. I think my first big obsession was 101 Dalmatians.
[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Nice.
[00:02:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but when it comes to like real nerdy stuff, it definitely started with Power Rangers.
[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Which I didn't really continue with. I know a lot of people still keep up with it.
[00:02:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I have revisited the show, the original show, and it's so, like it aged beautifully.
[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_02]: But Star Wars was really, I watched that for the first time when I was five, and I just never let it go.
[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Like my obsession with Star Wars has never wavered in my entire life.
[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Awesome.
[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_02]: And I am grateful though that it's my job to talk about Marvel and not Star Wars,
[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_02]: because I'd rather just keep Star Wars as my little thing.
[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Like guarding Star Wars.
[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Because it can be a little intense in the old Star Wars fandom.
[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, it can. I mean that's one of the things we talk about a lot is trying to combat like toxicity within the Star Wars community,
[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_05]: like Star Wars fan community, because it's there. It's all over the place.
[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, totally.
[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_04]: And I like that you say like, hey, I've been kind of working Marvel, you know, for a long period of time, but like Star Wars is mine.
[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, 100%.
[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_04]: That's so cool because that happens to us too, where we're like so into Marvel or something, and then people, you know, maybe talk smack about it.
[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_04]: We're like, you not do that because it hurts my feelings.
[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_04]: That's my thing.
[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_04]: You know? So it's cool that you said that. And I totally feel the same way.
[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Grew up on Star Wars, like the jam, the entire time.
[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Are you guys going to be at Celebration?
[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I wish.
[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh God.
[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_05]: If I had unlimited money.
[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, because we have Japan money.
[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_02]: It sucks that it's, but I'm like, I can't miss the 20th anniversary of Revenge of the Sith.
[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_02]: God.
[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_02]: That is the number one priority of my life. So I'm really going to try to miss.
[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that'd be awesome. Except I have three kids.
[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_04]: So that's the problem.
[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Bring them to Japan. That's the problem.
[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_02]: That can't be too expensive.
[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, no, not at all. Not at all.
[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. Where did I go?
[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_05]: So let me ask you this. If a movie was made about your life, like today, somebody just made a movie about a Jamie Jerick story, right?
[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_05]: Who would play you and why?
[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a really interesting question. I don't, you know what's funny? I feel like how do we time travel a young Susan Sarandon?
[00:04:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Like how do we like get her? I feel like she would really capture me well, but now the age is way off.
[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_02]: She's a lot older than me. But if, but in the, does that, can that, can I answer that? Can I say like, but not de-aging.
[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_02]: She has to somehow magically get younger. Like it's not a technology thing.
[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_02]: We're okay with that.
[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, good.
[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. I think, I don't know. I think that she has something that would work and we both have kind of buggy eyes.
[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_04]: That's good. I never had anybody be like, Hey, this person, but rewind when, you know, when they were this age.
[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm like, that's a good answer. Thank you. All right. Um, let's get into the origin story.
[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, you've been talking nerdy for a living. Um, how did you get into entertainment journalism?
[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_02]: It's funny. You like what a fancy title. I don't know where that title even came from, but I do like the ring to it because technically I was like a staff writer, but I did so many interviews and I like, that was my favorite part of the job that just calling myself a writer didn't feel right.
[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know where I saw that the term somebody was using it. I was like, that's, that is what I am.
[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. I'm going to use that. Um, you know, it's all my twenties. I did comedy. I wasn't, I did improv. I did standup and, um, I got really burnt out.
[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh, like I was just like spent 10 years in Chicago with that and I was kind of over it. So I moved to New York and I applied to a Buzzfeed internship because I wanted, because like, you know, at the time they wrote a lot about movies and TV and they've switched.
[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_02]: They do a lot more like celebrity gossip stuff now. Um, but back then they were doing a lot of that.
[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_02]: So I applied and I got it. And in, during my internship, it was, uh, the hiatus between season four and season five of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_02]: And I wrote like 10 reasons you should be watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_02]: And it caught the attention of Clark Gregg and the cast. And, um, Clark started following me on social media and everything.
[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And then when season five was happening and the 100th episode came up, they asked me to come moderate in LA.
[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I was still living in New York. And because, because I was a mega fan and in journalism, but also had a comedy background, they're like, oh, she knows how to be on a stage.
[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_02]: So, and it was totally Clark that championed me. He's like, I don't think I'd be sitting here right now if it wasn't for Clark Gregg.
[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_02]: He's the best.
[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_02]: For Agent Coulson?
[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_04]: So you're like an original Avenger.
[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yes. That's how I like to think of it.
[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_04]: You might have your baseball card or something.
[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm waiting for the day that Clark Gregg says, hey, we want you to come and do something for us.
[00:06:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Right?
[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I think we gotta get funnier.
[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I know.
[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. That's the problem is we're also comedians just badly and to ourselves.
[00:06:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know. I'm having a great time. I've known you for 10 minutes and I'm having a blast.
[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_02]: That's awesome.
[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Loving it.
[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_02]: But so I came out to LA and I did that panel and then my-
[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_02]: You never left?
[00:06:17] [SPEAKER_02]: No, I did leave and come. I came back. I moved here in 2020. But so after that, my internship was
[00:06:24] [SPEAKER_02]: ending and my friend saw a tweet about comicbook.com hiring. And so I was like, well, I just, I have
[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_02]: a pretty good in with Marvel. I did this Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. thing and I think that's why I got
[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_02]: hired. And so the next six years, I just left. I was there for six years and which was cool because
[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_02]: the last two seasons of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., that got to be my beat. So I got to do a lot of
[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_02]: stuff with S.H.I.E.L.D. for the end. And that has to this day still a thing. Like I'm sure we'll talk
[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_02]: about my Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. podcast at some point. Oh yeah. I got to plug my business.
[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. But yeah, I kind of like, I really started with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. because
[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I liked the Marvel movies. I'd seen them all in theaters. I wasn't a huge Marvel comics
[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_02]: reader. I've since read a lot of comics, you know, being, it's part of the job. Yeah. But
[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_02]: back then I was more of like a, like the comics I would read were like Craig Thompson
[00:07:05] [SPEAKER_02]: and like Bone and like really like, you know, like kind of like drama stuff. Yeah. I wasn't like,
[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_02]: you know, I'd read Watchmen, but like it wasn't until then that I got more into
[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Marvel comics. So it really, it really comes down to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Everything always goes back to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. That's so interesting. I didn't
[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_04]: know that was your, that was your in. That's, that's so cool. I love the show
[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_04]: too. I watched all, is it seven seasons? Seven, yeah. Oh, crazy that it went seven seasons.
[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't believe it wasn't canceled. It would never have lasted, no. With like 20
[00:07:30] [SPEAKER_04]: episodes each season. So that's nuts. That's, is that the most amount of Marvel?
[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_05]: 136 episodes? Maybe, honestly. Yeah. 136 hours. They figured out after a while that we can
[00:07:39] [SPEAKER_05]: scale back episodes and focus more on story with shorter episodes and I think
[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_05]: just in general the industry is figuring that out and focus more on better stories and it
[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_02]: doesn't have to be as long. See, I'd rather 22 episodes because then you can get weird
[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_02]: stuff. Yeah. Like, cause my favorite show of all time is Buffy and there's just like
[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_02]: so many weird little side quests. Like side quests. Yeah. Exactly that you can do and like
[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I always say I think Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is the last network TV show I'll ever
[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_02]: love because we just, it's a dying art unless you're into like procedurals and I'm not.
[00:08:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Right. That's a good point because everything ends up going to streaming and
[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_04]: streaming's like, hey, and episodes max. And then they cancel everything. I'm like, I don't want to invest
[00:08:13] [SPEAKER_02]: in anything anymore. It's NBC all over again. Yeah. It's crazy. Can we talk about stand-up comedy?
[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Sure. Because I'm, God, it's been a while since I've really talked about it. Well, I mean,
[00:08:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I've always, we've always been like comedy geeks, like stand-up comedy geeks. I've always been
[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_04]: fascinated about comedians crafting a comic, getting on stage. Can you just tell us what that's like?
[00:08:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. It's, it's funny because for five years I hosted a mic and when I was doing that,
[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_02]: like I didn't want to tell the same jokes every week because it was a lot of the same people
[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_02]: and I was getting bored. So I would, a thing that I would do is that I would write erotic
[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_02]: fan fiction like, like last minute and then read it on stage. So like you're writing Fifty Shades of
[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Grey and going on stage. Yeah. Basically. Except it's, but it's more, it's sillier. And Clark Knight
[00:08:51] [SPEAKER_02]: didn't pick it up? No. I, you know, it's funny on my Agents of Shield podcast, we've talked about,
[00:08:56] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe I should get back into my erotic fan fiction and start reading it on the podcast. But I,
[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_02]: literally the other day I was at this weird party and everyone was reading poetry and it was
[00:09:05] [SPEAKER_02]: getting like, I'm like, I don't, cannot hear any more poetry. I was like, I'm going to get up and
[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_02]: read some of my old erotica. It was from eight years ago and it was Finpo. And I got up there
[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_02]: and I read it and I was like, oh, I can't do this on my podcast. That's not, the Agents of Shield fans
[00:09:17] [SPEAKER_02]: don't want to hear what I have to say. They're not ready for this. They're not. They're not. But other than
[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_02]: that, I was very much the kind of comic that just like told true stories, told a lot of, you know,
[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_02]: sometimes self-deprecating things like that. But it's been so long. That's my wheelhouse.
[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Everything is self-deprecating. There's gotta be a super, super niche crowd for like Agent Olsen.
[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Something. Right. I feel like if like, one thing that I would love to do is like,
[00:09:39] [SPEAKER_02]: how do I become like a host at cons? Because I feel like that would be a blend of things.
[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_02]: That's why I really like interviewing though too. Especially like my improv background. It
[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_02]: really helps in those settings. I'm never nervous in front of people because I've been on a,
[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I was on a stage for my whole life. I went to theater school in high school. So it was always,
[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_02]: that's something that comes easy to me. Whether or not I was good at it. I can't,
[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_02]: like, you know, I'm not doing it anymore, but I am comfortable on stage.
[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_05]: So you, you, you were more on stage, you were more improv than you were like a George Carlin
[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_05]: who wrote a joke and practiced it to perfection kind of thing.
[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_02]: It's funny. I did both, which is not common. You'd think there'd be a lot of crossover.
[00:10:14] [SPEAKER_02]: There's not a lot of improv comic crossover. Um, it's, they're very different types of people.
[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. So I did do improv. My college team dropping science with the 2012 national champions.
[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I love that because it's so funny. It's like a funny thing to have a trophy for.
[00:10:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Right. Um, and this is in Chicago. Yeah. It's like, we are the national improv champions. It's like,
[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay. Uh huh. Really cool. Cool. Very cool. Chicago is a pretty big comedy scene, right?
[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it's yeah. It's the Mecca for sure. Yeah. Um, and so, but then separately I did the standup
[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_02]: and it is a total, that would be more rehearsed for sure. Um, and you know, jokes, but I,
[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_02]: but I wasn't like a set up punchline joke person for, I was definitely more of a storyteller.
[00:10:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Um, okay. What has been a, Oh my God, I made it moment for you.
[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, nothing will ever top interviewing Harrison. Ever. Like, and, and somebody, I don't, it was a
[00:11:03] [SPEAKER_02]: younger person. And when I said that they were like, no, no, bigger things are coming. I was
[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_02]: like, no, you don't understand. There's literally no one bigger than Harrison Ford. And the fact
[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_02]: that because I was the first person to ever ask him about Red Hulk, that's now my legacy.
[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. The him saying to me, what is Red Hulk? I see news about it still constantly. And I'm like,
[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_02]: that was, that was me. I did it. So, and, and the fact that, um, you know, Harrison Ford is kind
[00:11:24] [SPEAKER_02]: of notorious. Like he, you don't want to bring up Star Wars to Harrison Ford. He does not want to
[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_02]: talk about it. And so sometimes in my interviews, I'll show people my tattoos and I was not, I have,
[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_02]: you know, this big Leia tattoo here. And I was like, it didn't even occur to me to show it to him.
[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_02]: There's no way. But I did during the interview kind of clock him looking at it. And I was like,
[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my God, he's seeing it, but I'm not going to say anything. And then at the end of the
[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_02]: interview, he set me up, it was, it was for the new Indiana Jones. And he's like,
[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_02]: So did you like the movie? I went, yeah. And he goes, I know. I can't, like, I literally,
[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_02]: like, I can't believe Harrison Ford just said, I know to me. I know. Cause he saw my tattoo.
[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_02]: That was like, like truly, I can't think of anything bigger than that.
[00:11:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Like you're going into the interview. Like, no, I don't want to talk about him.
[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Tell me about Declan.
[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_04]: That's the coolest story ever. Oh, that's so cool. You know, what's funny is that, um,
[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_04]: we've reached out to like Brady Prince Jr. Who was in Star Wars Rebels. And we're like,
[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, he's a big wrestling fan. We're a big wrestling fan. Used to write for like WWE.
[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And we're like, Hey, you know, you have a podcast about wrestling.
[00:12:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Love to talk to you about wrestling. He's like, Oh, uh, I see that you're in the Star Wars.
[00:12:19] [SPEAKER_04]: So there's a big toxic Star Wars fan base. So I'm just going to say no.
[00:12:23] [SPEAKER_04]: No, we want to talk wrestling.
[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, that's ding.
[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_05]: And you, and you, and you just, you're starting your own promotion.
[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Like this is, we want to talk about that.
[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_02]: But also I've never seen anyone ever in my life say something negative about Kanan Jarrus.
[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Like never.
[00:12:37] [SPEAKER_05]: And that was the other thing is that Kanan Jarrus is such an amazing character.
[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Like I get it. There's a toxic, toxic fan base.
[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_05]: That's like, for some reason there are the people who don't like Rebels.
[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_05]: And it's like Rebels was such a great addition to the lore,
[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_05]: but it's like Kanan Jarrus was one of the best characters in the show.
[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_05]: It was like, I can't see anything negative on that. Right.
[00:12:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't blame him though.
[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause like it can get, and you see, like you say one little thing.
[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And it goes like insane.
[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I invited Brad Winterbaum, the head of Marvel television, to come on Lido, my Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. podcast.
[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And he literally was like, I can't, anytime I say anything about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,
[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_02]: like the headlines are crazy.
[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_02]: He's like, I can't risk it.
[00:13:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't risk talking about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. publicly like that.
[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Because anytime, anytime anyone marveled, cause they're always wondering, is it canon?
[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. canon?
[00:13:16] [SPEAKER_02]: It cares, but people care.
[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_02]: And so, you know, sometimes some actors or people are like, no, no subject.
[00:13:21] [SPEAKER_02]: That's great.
[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_02]: So let's talk about Phase Zero.
[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_05]: There's a multiverse.
[00:13:24] [SPEAKER_05]: It's canon.
[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a totally good one.
[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_02]: We've got friggin' Blade up in there.
[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Wesley Snipes is in there.
[00:13:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Everything is canon.
[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's a multiverse.
[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_02]: It's canon.
[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's how I feel.
[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's talk about Marvel, Phase Zero.
[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_04]: What has that journey been like?
[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Kind of being part of Phase Zero, getting to birth it?
[00:13:41] [SPEAKER_04]: You and BD?
[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_02]: So BD, it's kind of sad because right now it seems it's done.
[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't really speak to the future or what's happening there,
[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_02]: but I can say that I know that BD and I, like BD drove me here.
[00:13:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Like BD and I want to keep doing things together,
[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_02]: and I think that that's inevitable.
[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_02]: But it's funny because when BD and I had, when Phase Zero started,
[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_02]: had already worked together for a couple years,
[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_02]: but we did not know each other.
[00:14:01] [SPEAKER_02]: We'd barely spoken to each other because he lived in Nashville.
[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I lived in New York and then L.A.
[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_02]: But he wanted to start Phase Zero when WandaVision was starting,
[00:14:08] [SPEAKER_02]: and I was the Scarlet Witch person.
[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Everyone knows, like, if you're at comicbook.com,
[00:14:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Jamie's the Scarlet Witch girl.
[00:14:13] [SPEAKER_02]: So he invited me to come talk WandaVision for the WandaVision run,
[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_02]: and then I just never left.
[00:14:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think a part of it, too, is...
[00:14:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_02]: And when it started, it was BD and then Jim Viscardi,
[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_02]: who was our boss at the time.
[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think that also BD recognized that, like,
[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_02]: it can't just be two white dudes, right?
[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, you need somebody else in there.
[00:14:31] [SPEAKER_02]: And, like, yes, I'm a lady,
[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_02]: but I'm also, like, very, like, open about being queer,
[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_02]: and I think that, like, they needed a little bit of me in there.
[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And, but it's funny, somebody...
[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just a personality.
[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just a personality.
[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Which, you know, I'm very happy to be.
[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[00:15:11] [SPEAKER_02]: That's no pressure.
[00:15:12] [SPEAKER_02]: No, I'll be the goofy one all day.
[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_02]: It's the easiest job possible.
[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't even know anything.
[00:15:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Also, though, I know the movies really well.
[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_04]: You all had good chemistry, though.
[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_04]: And you're all, like, individually funny.
[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Everyone has their own thing, for sure.
[00:15:22] [SPEAKER_04]: And you all knew how to play off each other, which was really cool.
[00:15:25] [SPEAKER_04]: It's, like, a couple episodes when, like, somebody would, like...
[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, BD's internet would, like, no, timeout or whatever,
[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_04]: and then all of a sudden you guys are just picking it up.
[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_04]: It's still fun.
[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_02]: But it didn't start that way.
[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure if you go back to the earlier episodes, like, I can't...
[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_02]: It took a while.
[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, there was a time where I'm like,
[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_02]: ugh, I have to get up at 9 to do this.
[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_02]: And then over time, it just became my favorite part of the job.
[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_02]: And when I was, like...
[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I guess I was laid off.
[00:15:46] [SPEAKER_02]: That's how you say it.
[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I got a severance.
[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I've been laid off.
[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:15:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, it felt like a firing, but no, I was laid off.
[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_02]: But, like, I was totally fine.
[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's, you know...
[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_02]: But I was, like, a phase zero.
[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_02]: But at that point, Brandon was already gone.
[00:15:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:15:59] [SPEAKER_02]: And as soon as Brandon left, I was like, my days are numbered.
[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like you miss your friends the most.
[00:16:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, changing schools or something like that.
[00:16:05] [SPEAKER_02]: I was literally, like...
[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_02]: We have...
[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_02]: The four of us have a group chat,
[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_02]: and we were literally texting on the way here
[00:16:09] [SPEAKER_02]: because Jenna just got out of the new Joker.
[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_02]: And so we were all just texting about Joker, which...
[00:16:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Have you seen it yet?
[00:16:13] [SPEAKER_02]: No, and I won't.
[00:16:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, my thing is...
[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Here's the thing.
[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I've never actively ever wanted to not see a comic book movie.
[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_02]: And getting, like, a comicbook.com right before this,
[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, I'm free.
[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_02]: No one's making me see this movie.
[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't have to see it.
[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's rare because I like to see everything.
[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_02]: But I'm like, no, I'm not going to see that.
[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_05]: We were just talking the other day.
[00:16:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Todd Phillips made a statement about the movie
[00:16:33] [SPEAKER_05]: before it coming out.
[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_05]: And it kind of gave me...
[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_05]: I didn't want to watch it at all.
[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_05]: But, like, Todd Phillips' explanation of it
[00:16:40] [SPEAKER_05]: kind of made me want to see it more.
[00:16:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Because it seems like it's what I want in the Joker.
[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_05]: It's just everything is made up in his head at this point.
[00:16:46] [SPEAKER_05]: So it's like, okay.
[00:16:47] [SPEAKER_05]: I want to see the twisted mind that he has
[00:16:48] [SPEAKER_05]: and the fact that this may not be something
[00:16:50] [SPEAKER_05]: that's actually happening.
[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Did you see it?
[00:16:52] [SPEAKER_05]: I haven't.
[00:16:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, okay.
[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_02]: My thing is, I love musicals.
[00:16:54] [SPEAKER_02]: My favorite movie of all time is Grease.
[00:16:56] [SPEAKER_02]: I love musicals.
[00:16:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Great movie.
[00:16:57] [SPEAKER_02]: But everything that I've heard is like,
[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_02]: it doesn't applicate musicalness.
[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Wow, that was a weird sentence.
[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not a good musical.
[00:17:07] [SPEAKER_02]: And the fact that in the press chart,
[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_02]: he was like, well, it's not actually a musical.
[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just that people are using their thoughts
[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_02]: and feelings through music.
[00:17:12] [SPEAKER_02]: That's literally a musical, man.
[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_02]: That's literally the definition of musical.
[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I still like Road Trip.
[00:17:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm a Road Trip fan.
[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_04]: It seems like everybody's saying that
[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_04]: if you're a musical fan, it's not a musical.
[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_04]: But if you're just a fan, you're like,
[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_04]: oh, it's a musical thing.
[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Because there's a lot of songs.
[00:17:25] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's like, it's not hitting either demographic.
[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's like he was afraid to go full musical.
[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Then why are you doing it in the first place?
[00:17:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, because Todd Phillips wanted to do something weird.
[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_02]: But I also, I actively disliked the first one too.
[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Gotcha.
[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm just not a fan of that movie at all.
[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Gotcha.
[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Go watch The King of Comedy.
[00:17:37] [SPEAKER_02]: It's a brilliant Scorsese film.
[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_05]: It's, I mean, yeah.
[00:17:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Joker is just basically a ripoff of King of Comedy.
[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, you were saying something about watching The Joker.
[00:17:45] [SPEAKER_04]: It's hard to get behind a movie or get behind a character
[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_04]: where it's like, it's an untrustworthy narrative.
[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, okay.
[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_05]: I would rather be, if it's The Joker,
[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_05]: I'd rather be a untrustworthy narrative.
[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't want it to be something that you can, you know,
[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_05]: definitely be his background and his origin story.
[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_05]: My belief is a character like The Joker is a monster
[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_05]: and needs to be a monster.
[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_05]: If you humanize The Joker,
[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_05]: then that takes away a lot of the monstrous mystique
[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_05]: from the character.
[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_02]: That's fair.
[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I want him to be a mysterious,
[00:18:13] [SPEAKER_05]: you don't know anything about him kind of guy.
[00:18:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Because the more you don't know about him,
[00:18:17] [SPEAKER_05]: the more you can disassociate from him
[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_05]: and the more the demonstrable acts that he does
[00:18:22] [SPEAKER_05]: relegate him to the realm of being a monster
[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_05]: and being needed to be stopped.
[00:18:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Versus you say he's somebody who has mental health problems.
[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, now I sympathize for The Joker
[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_05]: and I don't want to sympathize for a monster.
[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_02]: A hundred percent.
[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I think also it's like Todd Phillips
[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_02]: doesn't seem to care about comic books at all.
[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And I just, fine, that's a take of it, whatever.
[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_02]: But you're working with like one of the most famous characters
[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_02]: in comic book history.
[00:18:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[00:18:46] [SPEAKER_02]: And like have a little respect, I guess.
[00:18:48] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.
[00:18:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Have we ever gotten a movie about a villain?
[00:18:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, now that we have Penguin, I guess.
[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Morbius.
[00:18:53] [SPEAKER_05]: It's Morbentime.
[00:18:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, yeah, we're in the middle of Agatha.
[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
[00:18:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Speaking of Agatha.
[00:18:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, segue.
[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_05]: No, that's the perfect segue.
[00:19:01] [SPEAKER_05]: It's almost like she read our script.
[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_05]: I know.
[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_05]: We are.
[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Hey, there's no script.
[00:19:04] [SPEAKER_04]: We're in the thick of things with Agatha.
[00:19:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And I got a couple of questions for you.
[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I think the first one is, what's it like being lied to by Catherine?
[00:19:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Catherine.
[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_04]: But you know what?
[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Catherine lied to me about what if.
[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Your face.
[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_02]: What if.
[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Catherine lied to me about what if.
[00:19:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
[00:19:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And, but like technically, they haven't really officially announced that she's in what if.
[00:19:23] [SPEAKER_02]: So, but Brad Winterbaum told Joe Duckelmeyer from Screen Rant that there was an Agatha episode.
[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_02]: So I was like, oh, Brad approved it.
[00:19:29] [SPEAKER_02]: So I can ask Agatha and she was like, or I can ask Catherine.
[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_02]: And she was like, what?
[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And I've said this before, but getting lied to by Catherine hurts 10,000 times more than getting lied to by Harrison Ford.
[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, getting lied to by Harrison Ford is par for the course.
[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_02]: But Catherine, how could you lie to me?
[00:19:42] [SPEAKER_05]: It's like, dude, you don't have to be an actor right now.
[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Come on.
[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_05]: You don't have to do that right now.
[00:19:46] [SPEAKER_02]: As soon as they officially announce her being in what if, I will take to the internet and pretend to be really her.
[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like 2% hurt, 98% excited that I just, who cares?
[00:19:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I talk to Catherine.
[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, whatever.
[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_04]: That's so cool, though.
[00:19:58] [SPEAKER_04]: It's even better to be like lied to than you.
[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Then you have this story.
[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I met her.
[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_04]: She's amazing.
[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Also, she lied to my face.
[00:20:03] [SPEAKER_04]: She lied to my face.
[00:20:05] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's becoming more and more common.
[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_02]: What a witch.
[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like they used to not do that.
[00:20:08] [SPEAKER_02]: But now, like, Brandon's been lied to so many times.
[00:20:10] [SPEAKER_05]: I think a lot of it, though, is because there are, you know, sleuths on the internet that were like, oh, yeah, you guys did an interview.
[00:20:16] [SPEAKER_05]: So they'll be like, whoa, they said this.
[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_05]: And that means that they mean this.
[00:20:19] [SPEAKER_05]: So then all these speculations come out.
[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_05]: And I think they would just rather you guys are going to ruin the surprise.
[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, you're not ruining the surprise.
[00:20:25] [SPEAKER_05]: It's the fans who are speculating off the interview you did.
[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_05]: So they're just like, we would rather just lie about it and say that none of this ever happened so that it doesn't ruin the surprise for people.
[00:20:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Especially Marvel.
[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I feel bad for Marvel actors because it doesn't matter what they're promoting or what they're doing, they're going to get asked.
[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And when I work for comic book, it's like, yeah, I do have to ask this question.
[00:20:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:20:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Literal job.
[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_02]: But then people are like, why don't you always do that?
[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like, because I have to.
[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_02]: That's what I get paid for.
[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:20:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, we made a Mephisto joke earlier, but every show has a Mephisto thing happening in it, right?
[00:20:52] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I'm making speculation about Mephisto right now and Agatha.
[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_05]: So, I mean, like.
[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_02]: We got a name drop in episode three.
[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_02]: We did.
[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_02]: That's so crazy.
[00:20:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.
[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_04]: So, that was my next question.
[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_04]: What is, I mean, you have no NDAs right now.
[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_04]: No, I've seen it.
[00:21:03] [SPEAKER_02]: So, I had seen the first four episodes early, so now I'm back.
[00:21:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm in the trenches with all the rest of the fans now.
[00:21:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I have not seen the rest of the show.
[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_04]: You're back to one of us boars.
[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah.
[00:21:11] [SPEAKER_04]: One of us boars.
[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Doesn't have a screener.
[00:21:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, though, here's the thing.
[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I hate screeners because you have to watch them on your computer and there's a giant watermark
[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_02]: of your email slapped across the middle.
[00:21:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, really?
[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Especially for Disney.
[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, Netflix lets you do it through the app on the TV.
[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I hate watching things on my computer.
[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Especially with a watermark.
[00:21:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, this is not how this is meant to be watched.
[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_02]: But, like, that's, again, like, I have privilege.
[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I do get to watch it early.
[00:21:33] [SPEAKER_02]: But, um, I, but it's, I don't get excited when I have to do that because I'd rather watch
[00:21:37] [SPEAKER_02]: it properly.
[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah.
[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_04]: That makes so much sense.
[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_04]: So, I need one prediction.
[00:21:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:21:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Whether you know it's real or not.
[00:21:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:21:44] [SPEAKER_02]: So, it's, so this is my, has been my prediction and due to some leaks, I think I'm wrong.
[00:21:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
[00:21:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Unfortunately, I've seen some things, but I'm pretending I haven't.
[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Because, like, this is what I would say if I didn't see these things.
[00:21:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:21:55] [SPEAKER_02]: But, you know what, maybe those leaks are wrong.
[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe I'm right.
[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Right, right.
[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I really thought that, I have been thinking that Rio is Blackheart.
[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_02]: She is Lephisto's daughter.
[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_02]: That's the same thing.
[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_02]: That's what I was thinking.
[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_02]: And that she somehow took Agatha's child, gave it to her father, and that is why they're
[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_02]: having a lover's spell.
[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_02]: That's what I was thinking.
[00:22:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Now, I'm probably wrong.
[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_02]: But that is where I, I mean, like, all the Blackheart hints, maybe those were just to
[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_02]: throw off us.
[00:22:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[00:22:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Which they do.
[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_02]: They tend to do that.
[00:22:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, you do think that.
[00:22:26] [SPEAKER_05]: I think Teen is Nicholas Scratch.
[00:22:28] [SPEAKER_02]: See, I think he definitely can't be Nicholas Scratch.
[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Why?
[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_02]: And two reasons.
[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_02]: One, the bunny is already named Senior Scratchy.
[00:22:34] [SPEAKER_02]: If anything, that bunny.
[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_02]: He was holding the bunny.
[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, but the bunny was in WandaVision.
[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_02]: The bunny's been around.
[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_02]: But also, literally in the last episode, episode four, Rio literally said to Agatha, that's
[00:22:44] [SPEAKER_02]: not your boy.
[00:22:44] [SPEAKER_02]: She said that to him.
[00:22:45] [SPEAKER_05]: It could also be to throw it off, though, but they do that.
[00:22:47] [SPEAKER_02]: She could be lying.
[00:22:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think she would lie.
[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that they, there's a love there.
[00:22:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:22:51] [SPEAKER_02]: And there's a lot of trust.
[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh.
[00:22:53] [SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of trust has been broken.
[00:22:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think Rio would lie to Agatha about that.
[00:22:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:22:57] [SPEAKER_02]: That's why I don't think.
[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Also, I've said this a lot, but Joe Luck looks like, like, Gillian Hillary looks like
[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_02]: the frickin.
[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_05]: That was my second prediction, is that if it's not Nicholas Scratch, then it has to be
[00:23:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Billy.
[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_05]: It has to be Billy.
[00:23:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it has to be.
[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_02]: But the big question, the exciting question, I think that whether or not he's Billy, I
[00:23:14] [SPEAKER_02]: think he is.
[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_02]: But what Billy is he?
[00:23:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Is he Billy from an alternate universe, or is it like the comics where it's Billy Kaplan
[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_02]: where he's like a resurrection version of another kid that's like embodied by Billy?
[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_02]: That seems where they're going, but it still doesn't answer why he looks like that
[00:23:27] [SPEAKER_02]: frickin' kid.
[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_05]: They look alike.
[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Because my whole thing with that, the way I was looking at that is, if it's Billy, Marvel
[00:23:34] [SPEAKER_05]: does a really good job at, if they're not going to follow a storyline from the comics,
[00:23:38] [SPEAKER_05]: that they still do homages, right?
[00:23:40] [SPEAKER_05]: So in the comics, Agatha taught Wanda.
[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_05]: She was Wanda's mentor.
[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_05]: So if they're not going to go that route, they're kind of like rivals at this point.
[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_05]: So what's the next best thing?
[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_05]: You make Agatha her son's mentor, right?
[00:23:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:23:52] [SPEAKER_05]: And I feel like that's just a smart way that when Marvel does these twists, it's both
[00:23:58] [SPEAKER_05]: a surprise, but it fits in universe still.
[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And it is weird to see The Witch's Road without Wanda.
[00:24:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[00:24:03] [SPEAKER_02]: It is because like the James Robinson run is really, is the Witch's Road stuff and it's
[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_02]: odd, but it doesn't bother me.
[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Because I just, I love Agatha, I love Gavin Hahn.
[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_05]: On the Jennifer Kale, I'm like, I got excited when you see Jennifer Kale because that means
[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_05]: that, oh, Ghost Rider's not too far away.
[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Ooh.
[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_05]: Right.
[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Because like Ghost Rider can't be far away because they're cousins.
[00:24:20] [SPEAKER_05]: He's right there.
[00:24:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I love that.
[00:24:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:24:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Wouldn't that be crazy?
[00:24:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:24:22] [SPEAKER_05]: What if Ghost Rider shows up?
[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Gabriel Luna, come on.
[00:24:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think, I think Gabriel Luna's days of playing Ghost Rider are done.
[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I think he's getting too far with Ghost Rider.
[00:24:29] [SPEAKER_05]: No, but I mean, he did say, like he did say that that's one of the characters that he's
[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_05]: been trying to find a way to inroad into Marvel is he's been trying to get.
[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_05]: It's inevitable.
[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_05]: I see what you did there with the road.
[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_05]: That's what I did there.
[00:24:42] [SPEAKER_02]: You are comedians.
[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:24:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:24:46] [SPEAKER_05]: Amateur.
[00:24:46] [SPEAKER_05]: Amateur.
[00:24:47] [SPEAKER_04]: This is a bad segue.
[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I need, I want to hear a cringe moment from your career.
[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh.
[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_04]: So I'm talking about like, ask the question and you're like, ooh, why did I ask that question?
[00:24:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Because we host Comic-Cons and up and down the West Coast and that has happened once
[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_04]: or twice.
[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's like, oh, I feel like I used to be a professional.
[00:25:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Now I'm just like, I feel like this amateur off the street where I just asked this question.
[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_04]: It didn't land or it was like the wrong info or something.
[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Fair.
[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Luckily in my like official four minute interviews, nothing really comes to mind.
[00:25:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Like there are things I wish could have gone better or whatever, but none that I've really
[00:25:20] [SPEAKER_02]: loved poorly.
[00:25:22] [SPEAKER_02]: But I do sometimes think back to that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 100 episode panel where it
[00:25:27] [SPEAKER_02]: went very well.
[00:25:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I felt very good about it.
[00:25:29] [SPEAKER_02]: But there were two things that I wish I didn't do.
[00:25:31] [SPEAKER_02]: And one was when I was, I was introducing Constance Zimmer.
[00:25:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I kind of like, I don't know what happened in my brain, but I was like, she died on the
[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_02]: show, but she's alive in real life.
[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, what a stupid way to introduce somebody, an Emmy nominated actor, Constance
[00:25:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Zimmer.
[00:25:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I felt really dumb.
[00:25:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I felt dumb about it.
[00:25:47] [SPEAKER_02]: But it got like, laugh.
[00:25:47] [SPEAKER_02]: So awkward.
[00:25:48] [SPEAKER_05]: But I mean, like, that's, I love that kind of stuff.
[00:25:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Like when I say something awkward, it's like, oh, improv.
[00:25:54] [SPEAKER_05]: All right, joke.
[00:25:54] [SPEAKER_05]: We need to make a joke.
[00:25:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Whoops.
[00:25:56] [SPEAKER_02]: But I do really regret, I kind of, I've said this on Lito.
[00:26:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I regret treating Henry Simmons as kind of a piece of meat.
[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, cause he's just an attractive man.
[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_02]: And he is like the hot one on the show.
[00:26:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, he's just like a beefy, beautiful, godlike man.
[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_02]: He just is.
[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_02]: But like, and I, but I think I joked about it a little too much.
[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think I may have made him uncomfortable.
[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_02]: And I really regret that because like, it was also like a different time.
[00:26:18] [SPEAKER_02]: 2018, different time.
[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_02]: And, and at the time I didn't seem like a big deal, but in retrospect, it was like, I wish I didn't, maybe like one joke.
[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_02]: But I think I made a couple jokes about him being hunky or hot.
[00:26:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, that's, you know, men can be objectified too.
[00:26:31] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's not okay.
[00:26:33] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not okay to objectify anyone.
[00:26:35] [SPEAKER_02]: But like, like I talk a lot about how like Aubrey Plaza is hot, but I would never get on a stage and introduce her that way.
[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, exactly.
[00:26:41] [SPEAKER_02]: And you don't think about that with men sometimes.
[00:26:43] [SPEAKER_02]: And that, I do regret that a lot.
[00:26:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause I would love to have him on my podcast eventually.
[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, but what if that's all he like thinks of, if he thinks of me?
[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, is that time?
[00:26:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, hopefully he hears this interview.
[00:26:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, Henry Simmons.
[00:26:54] [SPEAKER_02]: This is my official apology.
[00:26:57] [SPEAKER_04]: It's probably one of those like self-deprecating, like magnification things you do where you like hone in on that one big mistake.
[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_02]: But it's not that big of a mistake.
[00:27:05] [SPEAKER_02]: No.
[00:27:05] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's not something, it's not like I did it for an hour straight.
[00:27:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I was probably at max three jokes.
[00:27:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_02]: For sure.
[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_02]: But I still, like, it's not something I would ever do now.
[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_02]: But.
[00:27:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but you're a comedian.
[00:27:14] [SPEAKER_04]: You gotta try sometimes.
[00:27:15] [SPEAKER_04]: You gotta see what happens.
[00:27:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's not like I lay awake at night thinking about it.
[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, you know, there are certain things I'm like, oh my God, I can't believe I did that in life.
[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_02]: But that doesn't mean to do with my job.
[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_02]: You know?
[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Just stupid things I did in my 20s specifically.
[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, like Aubrey Plaza is my crush that my wife approves.
[00:27:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh-huh, yeah.
[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_02]: My boyfriend also approves.
[00:27:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:27:32] [SPEAKER_05]: My crush on Aubrey Plaza.
[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I approve of all that.
[00:27:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's great.
[00:27:46] [SPEAKER_05]: You're just interrupting me.
[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, loving the time of Hydra.
[00:27:48] [SPEAKER_05]: That's what I do.
[00:27:48] [SPEAKER_05]: The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 10th Anniversary Podcast with you and Tony Paletto.
[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Your Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. podcast.
[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_05]: So why is it going to take seven years?
[00:27:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Where are we?
[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Because, so I knew the 10th anniversary was coming up last year.
[00:28:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:28:02] [SPEAKER_02]: For season one.
[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, wouldn't it be fun if we recorded every episode on that episode's 10th anniversary?
[00:28:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And if you do that, that's going to take seven years because the show lasted for seven years.
[00:28:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And we usually record the day before and then release it on the right day.
[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_02]: So like our panel is tomorrow at LA Comic Con.
[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Will this get released before tomorrow?
[00:28:21] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll try.
[00:28:21] [SPEAKER_02]: If not, it's okay.
[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_02]: It could be up tonight.
[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Great.
[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_02]: If you are listening before Sunday, October 6th, we do have a one o'clock panel.
[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_02]: But we're just treating it as an episode.
[00:28:30] [SPEAKER_02]: So tomorrow's episode is season two, episode three of the show.
[00:28:33] [SPEAKER_02]: So we're still really early.
[00:28:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:28:35] [SPEAKER_02]: But a fun thing is that, so Tony, Tony's my boyfriend.
[00:28:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Part of it came from the fact of like, you need to watch Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
[00:28:40] [SPEAKER_02]: You can't live with me and be my life partner and not see Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_02]: There are requirements.
[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I made him watch all of Buffy and Angel.
[00:28:47] [SPEAKER_02]: And that was like a kind of a test for him because he's not a network TV guy.
[00:28:50] [SPEAKER_02]: He's a film guy.
[00:28:51] [SPEAKER_02]: And he had never really watched something like Buffy or Angel before.
[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_02]: And he really enjoyed it.
[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_02]: But if we had just started with S.H.I.E.L.D., I think it would have been a different podcast.
[00:29:00] [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm glad we did that.
[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_02]: But it is fun to keep him.
[00:29:02] [SPEAKER_02]: The point is we're keeping him spoiler free.
[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Hashtag protect Tony.
[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_02]: So we're trying to.
[00:29:06] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's almost a watch along with him.
[00:29:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
[00:29:09] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm putting that in the episode description, by the way.
[00:29:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Hashtag protect Tony.
[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_02]: We have that on a T-shirt.
[00:29:13] [SPEAKER_02]: You need to disclaim that.
[00:29:14] [SPEAKER_04]: You need to disclaim that right away in the panel.
[00:29:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, we will.
[00:29:17] [SPEAKER_02]: And then, but so at the end of every episode, the last 10 minutes, we do Tony leaves the
[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_02]: room.
[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_02]: And then we talk future spoilers.
[00:29:21] [SPEAKER_02]: We talk about things that he can't hear.
[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_02]: He leaves the room.
[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:29:24] [SPEAKER_02]: And we're going to kick him out of the panel tomorrow.
[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I was going to say.
[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_02]: You got to make him move the path.
[00:29:27] [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to kick him out.
[00:29:28] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think we might have a special guest coming in for the last 10 minutes.
[00:29:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, teaser.
[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Some people who have appeared on the show, however briefly, but I think it will excite
[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_02]: fans.
[00:29:38] [SPEAKER_02]: That's awesome.
[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_02]: But Tony won't.
[00:29:40] [SPEAKER_02]: But Tony, yeah.
[00:29:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I did try to get Mignol Wynn to come to the panel because she is here at the con.
[00:29:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.
[00:29:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Her reps.
[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it even got to her.
[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think, you know.
[00:29:49] [SPEAKER_02]: But we have had Clark Gregg on the show.
[00:29:50] [SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah.
[00:29:51] [SPEAKER_02]: How cool is that?
[00:29:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Again, Clark, he's my, where would I be without him?
[00:29:54] [SPEAKER_05]: He's the whole reason that this whole thing exists.
[00:29:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Truly.
[00:29:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And in every sense of the word, for sure.
[00:29:59] [SPEAKER_02]: But it's really fun to watch Tony watch it for the first time.
[00:30:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And like, I consider myself an expert.
[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I've probably seen every episode 10 times.
[00:30:06] [SPEAKER_02]: So we do have these differing, but it is like, it's fun to get that perspective.
[00:30:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Somebody who's never seen the show and like, he makes guesses that are so wrong.
[00:30:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And sometimes he's right.
[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes I try to throw him off the scent.
[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I was like, wow, Sky and Hunter, are we shipping them?
[00:30:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Which is nothing.
[00:30:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Nothing is going to come of that.
[00:30:21] [SPEAKER_02]: But like, I'm trying to confuse him a little bit.
[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_04]: That's interesting.
[00:30:23] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a weird entry point, I guess, for Marvel.
[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_04]: But I guess he's not going to get spoiled by comics.
[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_02]: No.
[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_02]: The big thing was Ward as Hydra.
[00:30:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, all season one, it was stressing me out deeply.
[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_02]: And the other big thing is he only knows Chloe Bennett as Sky.
[00:30:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And we are so close to the Daisy quick reveal.
[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, we're getting really close.
[00:30:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And so it's just.
[00:30:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I hope he doesn't listen to this podcast.
[00:30:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll tell him to wait.
[00:30:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:30:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Because he probably would.
[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_02]: But he's a big.
[00:30:45] [SPEAKER_02]: He drives for work.
[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_02]: So he's constantly listening to podcasts.
[00:30:48] [SPEAKER_05]: He's going to be like, oh, yeah, my girlfriend's on a podcast.
[00:30:50] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to listen to it.
[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Don't listen to it yet.
[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll warn him.
[00:30:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Don't listen to Blank Check again.
[00:30:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Hashtag Protect Tony.
[00:30:55] [SPEAKER_02]: That is what he's doing.
[00:30:56] [SPEAKER_02]: He's going to be playing.
[00:30:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Probably right now as we speak.
[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_02]: He's going to be playing check.
[00:30:59] [SPEAKER_04]: That's good.
[00:31:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:31:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's get into some rapid questions.
[00:31:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Because we got some panels to get to.
[00:31:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:31:04] [SPEAKER_04]: What is your coolest red carpet experience?
[00:31:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh.
[00:31:07] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's funny.
[00:31:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I haven't done a ton of red carpets.
[00:31:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I've done a fair amount.
[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_02]: But usually with.
[00:31:12] [SPEAKER_02]: You've done more than us.
[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Fair.
[00:31:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:31:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Especially with like Marvel and stuff.
[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm in the actual.
[00:31:18] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll do like actual interviews.
[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of things.
[00:31:20] [SPEAKER_02]: A carpet is such a difference.
[00:31:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:31:22] [SPEAKER_02]: But like thinking about it recently.
[00:31:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I did the Union Red Carpet, which is a Netflix movie with Halle Berry and Mark Wahlberg.
[00:31:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, yeah.
[00:31:30] [SPEAKER_02]: And it was a really successful carpet because a lot of times the cast does not come until like 10 minutes before the screening starts.
[00:31:36] [SPEAKER_02]: And like when it was at comicbook.com, like we're at the end of the line.
[00:31:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Like Variety, Hollywood Reporter, all the big ones are on the other end.
[00:31:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:31:43] [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm like, I just need to.
[00:31:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Deadpool Wolverine was out and thriving.
[00:31:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I just like if I can get any kind of storm quote from her, it'll be great.
[00:31:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And her rep was like one question.
[00:31:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, can I please ask two?
[00:31:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Because if I get one, it has to be at the freaking movie that we're going to that we're watching.
[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_02]: And no one's clicking on the Union articles.
[00:31:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:31:57] [SPEAKER_02]: So the rep's like, OK, you can ask two.
[00:32:00] [SPEAKER_02]: So I asked like if there were ever any basically thoughts of her being in Deadpool Wolverine, whatever.
[00:32:04] [SPEAKER_02]: And she told me that Blake Lively asked her to be in it.
[00:32:07] [SPEAKER_02]: It was like, will you be in my husband's movie?
[00:32:09] [SPEAKER_02]: And she was like, yeah.
[00:32:10] [SPEAKER_02]: But then she never heard anything.
[00:32:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And that quote went really far.
[00:32:13] [SPEAKER_02]: So I was really proud of getting that Halle Berry quote on a red carpet.
[00:32:17] [SPEAKER_04]: You do a pretty good job of like little nuggets and see what happens.
[00:32:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if you guys saw this.
[00:32:22] [SPEAKER_02]: When Phase Zero was at D23, we just like recorded on the car, like the floor.
[00:32:25] [SPEAKER_02]: The four of us were just doing a random thing.
[00:32:27] [SPEAKER_02]: And Bob Iger walked by.
[00:32:29] [SPEAKER_02]: And it was like, he's right there.
[00:32:31] [SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, like I can't say I'm a fan of Bob Iger.
[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Personally, I'm not really a fan of billionaires and like people, you know, but it's like to get him on the podcast.
[00:32:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course.
[00:32:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:32:39] [SPEAKER_02]: That's huge.
[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_02]: So he walked by and kind of like looked at what we're doing.
[00:32:43] [SPEAKER_02]: And BD was like, we're a Marvel podcast.
[00:32:44] [SPEAKER_02]: And I just shoved the microphone.
[00:32:46] [SPEAKER_02]: And that was a proud moment because that was like the most journalist I've ever felt where I like attacked Bob Iger with a microphone.
[00:32:54] [SPEAKER_02]: And like, but it was, he just walked out of the activation.
[00:32:56] [SPEAKER_02]: And so I was like, so did you talk to Rocket Raccoon?
[00:32:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Because that's what you do in the activation.
[00:33:00] [SPEAKER_02]: He's like, oh yeah, Rocket and I are old friends.
[00:33:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, this is nothing but everything at the same time.
[00:33:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:33:04] [SPEAKER_05]: It's fluff.
[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_05]: It's great.
[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, what am I going to say?
[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, what, like, can you tell me about why Pixar isn't giving all of the people who worked on Inside Out 2 and got laid off bonuses when that movie made a billion dollars?
[00:33:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, you know, like I'm not going to ask things like that.
[00:33:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Answer that billionaire.
[00:33:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_05]: And he's just going to be like, oh, cool.
[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Make sure she never goes to any of our press junkets again.
[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[00:33:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I wish that I was like that kind of hard hitting journalist, but no, my job is to ask about Rocket Raccoon.
[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_02]: That's the life I've chosen for myself.
[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, the most softball, softball questions.
[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I wish I had that in me, but that's just, it's not who we are.
[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_05]: We go and make a whole, like, organization where, like, we're, like, the hard hitting nerd question guy people, right?
[00:33:44] [SPEAKER_02]: There's a niche for that, I'm sure.
[00:33:45] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm sure there is.
[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_05]: It's the internet.
[00:33:47] [SPEAKER_05]: The more horrible we are, the more people are going to listen to us.
[00:33:52] [SPEAKER_05]: That's probably why we're where we are right now.
[00:33:54] [SPEAKER_05]: Because we're not horrible people.
[00:33:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Do love that.
[00:33:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:33:59] [SPEAKER_05]: So, we're going to get into some wrap up questions here.
[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, great.
[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to ask you the hardest question you've ever been asked in your life.
[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, my God.
[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_05]: Are you ready for this?
[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm ready.
[00:34:06] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
[00:34:06] [SPEAKER_05]: What is your favorite kind of taco?
[00:34:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, interesting.
[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a really good question.
[00:34:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm, like, a big meat eater.
[00:34:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:34:12] [SPEAKER_02]: So, I love meat.
[00:34:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I like, like, my best friend makes really good, like, white people tacos.
[00:34:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:34:16] [SPEAKER_02]: White people taco night.
[00:34:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:34:19] [SPEAKER_02]: She's really good at that.
[00:34:21] [SPEAKER_02]: But my boyfriend is, like, Tony is a really good cook.
[00:34:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And he will make some, like, legit, like, Asian style tacos.
[00:34:28] [SPEAKER_02]: But, like, an actual favorite, like, I don't know, like, take me to T-Bell and give me a hard shell with some sloppy beef.
[00:34:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm happy, you know?
[00:34:34] [SPEAKER_05]: I can never go wrong with that.
[00:34:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Because, like, you know, it's my...
[00:34:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, it can go wrong.
[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_03]: It'll always go wrong.
[00:34:40] [SPEAKER_05]: For the fans of the podcast, Taco Bell Bear.
[00:34:43] [SPEAKER_05]: We'll just leave it at that.
[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:34:45] [SPEAKER_05]: But, no, there is a right answer to this.
[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh.
[00:34:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that is...
[00:34:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Al Pastor.
[00:34:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, great.
[00:34:50] [SPEAKER_05]: So, in the Hispanic community, I'm Latino, so, like, in the Hispanic community, our litmus test for any restaurant you go to is Al Pastor.
[00:34:58] [SPEAKER_05]: They make good Al Pastor.
[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_05]: They make good everything in the entire restaurant.
[00:35:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Now, that's what I want now.
[00:35:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:35:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I do, like, real Mexican food as well.
[00:35:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:35:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's like...
[00:35:05] [SPEAKER_04]: You have...
[00:35:05] [SPEAKER_04]: You're out here in L.A.
[00:35:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:35:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Do you have, like, a Mexican spot or...
[00:35:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, but only because it's conveniently located.
[00:35:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I really like Don Cuco.
[00:35:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:35:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Which is, like, good.
[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not amazing, but it is good.
[00:35:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, it hits the spot because it's near the Burbank AMC, and that's where I like to go to the movies.
[00:35:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:35:20] [SPEAKER_02]: There's another one, but I can't think of the name.
[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Usually, like, there's a taco truck that sits right side of Ralph's, but I usually will get a quesadilla rather than a taco, but that's really good.
[00:35:30] [SPEAKER_02]: The trucks are the way to go.
[00:35:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_04]: My cousin lives in Burbank, and he always ends up taking us to King Tacos.
[00:35:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:35:35] [SPEAKER_04]: That's always the spot.
[00:35:36] [SPEAKER_04]: But I think that's pretty generic.
[00:35:37] [SPEAKER_04]: There's a bunch of King Tacos.
[00:35:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Now it is.
[00:35:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Now it is.
[00:35:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm actually...
[00:35:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm always looking for pizza recommendations because my only thing I don't like about Los Angeles,
[00:35:44] [SPEAKER_02]: is I can never find good pizza.
[00:35:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Because I lived in Chicago for 10 years.
[00:35:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I was born in New Jersey.
[00:35:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I live in New York.
[00:35:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I know good pizza.
[00:35:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And there's just...
[00:35:49] [SPEAKER_02]: It just doesn't exist here.
[00:35:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I have an ongoing list of recommendations that people give me, but I've yet to have pizza that I think it's actually good.
[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Now, are you a...
[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_04]: What is it?
[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Deep Dish Chicago style?
[00:35:57] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's funny because Deep Dish is kind of like the tourist pizza.
[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_02]: The real Chicago pizza is like the squares.
[00:36:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_02]: What do you call those?
[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Pub style or something.
[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:36:06] [SPEAKER_05]: They call it Detroit style.
[00:36:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:36:08] [SPEAKER_02]: It's that Chicago.
[00:36:09] [SPEAKER_02]: That's the...
[00:36:09] [SPEAKER_02]: But Deep Dish is amazing.
[00:36:10] [SPEAKER_02]: But that's like an every once in a while treat.
[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_02]: You can't eat that all the time.
[00:36:14] [SPEAKER_05]: It's soup and a pie dish.
[00:36:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.
[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a Thanksgiving meal.
[00:36:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:36:17] [SPEAKER_02]: If you get it right, like...
[00:36:18] [SPEAKER_02]: And there's debates.
[00:36:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, what's the best?
[00:36:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I would say Illuminati's, but like, people like Giordano's, but I think that's
[00:36:23] [SPEAKER_02]: too chain-y.
[00:36:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, you know, it just depends.
[00:36:25] [SPEAKER_02]: But I am on...
[00:36:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Anyone, if you're listening and follow me on social media, at me, a good Los Angeles
[00:36:30] [SPEAKER_02]: pizza sauce.
[00:36:30] [SPEAKER_02]: There we go.
[00:36:31] [SPEAKER_05]: This is like the Philly cheesesteak debate in Philly.
[00:36:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, you have everybody who argues over everything.
[00:36:36] [SPEAKER_05]: So, going into the next question, what's some advice you might have for somebody trying
[00:36:39] [SPEAKER_05]: to get into the industry?
[00:36:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Because we're trying to get into the industry.
[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_02]: I honestly, like, I just feel like I got so lucky.
[00:36:46] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think I got lucky because I was writing about the thing I loved the most, Agents of
[00:36:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Shield.
[00:36:50] [SPEAKER_02]: That's awesome.
[00:36:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I really think, you know, go...
[00:36:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Just go all in on something you love.
[00:36:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, the fact that I've become...
[00:36:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Marvel's become my thing.
[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And I joke about this sometimes at BD, where I'm like...
[00:36:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Because I watch a lot of movies.
[00:37:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:37:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Last night, I watched my 491st movie of the year.
[00:37:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, that's all I do is watch movies.
[00:37:04] [SPEAKER_02]: And I love film.
[00:37:05] [SPEAKER_02]: The last movie I watched last night was Black Sunday, which is a 1960 Italian horror film.
[00:37:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I love all types of film.
[00:37:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And I always have.
[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I went to film school.
[00:37:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And...
[00:37:14] [SPEAKER_02]: But it's just...
[00:37:15] [SPEAKER_02]: But people want to hear me talk about Marvel.
[00:37:16] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's cool.
[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'm totally cool with that.
[00:37:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I would love to, like, dive deep into, like...
[00:37:21] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I would never say Marvel's not cinema, because I believe it is.
[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_02]: But there is a whole area of my life that, like, people, like, do not care.
[00:37:28] [SPEAKER_02]: They do not want to, like, hear me talk about that.
[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, no one wants to hear me talk about Black Sunday from 1960.
[00:37:33] [SPEAKER_02]: My wife does.
[00:37:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah?
[00:37:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:37:35] [SPEAKER_05]: My wife is all into Golden Age Hollywood.
[00:37:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, cool.
[00:37:37] [SPEAKER_05]: So that's all she wants to hear.
[00:37:38] [SPEAKER_05]: She would rather listen to you talk about Golden Age Hollywood and movies and stuff like that
[00:37:43] [SPEAKER_05]: than talk anything about, like, Marvel or Star Wars.
[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I'd love to hear that.
[00:37:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Because I meet a lot of people who...
[00:37:47] [SPEAKER_02]: So even, like, my age or a little younger, they're like,
[00:37:49] [SPEAKER_02]: oh, I don't watch anything before 2000.
[00:37:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Or I won't watch anything that's black and white.
[00:37:52] [SPEAKER_02]: And, like, that makes me sad.
[00:37:54] [SPEAKER_02]: That really bums me out.
[00:37:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I do not like silent films, though, because they creep me out.
[00:37:57] [SPEAKER_02]: They need the talkies.
[00:38:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Or really...
[00:38:01] [SPEAKER_02]: But 1920s, I don't watch a lot of that.
[00:38:02] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and she's into, like, the history of, like, Hollywood and stuff like that.
[00:38:05] [SPEAKER_05]: She loves that.
[00:38:05] [SPEAKER_04]: We drove down from Sacramento yesterday, and that was, like, an hour conversation of,
[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_04]: like, one movie that she saw.
[00:38:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, is she here?
[00:38:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And the cast.
[00:38:12] [SPEAKER_05]: She's here.
[00:38:12] [SPEAKER_05]: She's here, yeah.
[00:38:13] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know where she is right now, but she's here.
[00:38:15] [SPEAKER_05]: I want to hang out with her.
[00:38:16] [SPEAKER_05]: I know, right?
[00:38:16] [SPEAKER_05]: We'll introduce you.
[00:38:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and you guys will have a good conversation for hours, especially if you're into that stuff.
[00:38:21] [SPEAKER_05]: She will...
[00:38:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Is she on Letterboxd?
[00:38:23] [SPEAKER_05]: No, she's not.
[00:38:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, we'll tell her to get on Letterboxd.
[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_05]: She's on Instagram, so...
[00:38:26] [SPEAKER_05]: So, again, another hard-hitting question here for you, right?
[00:38:28] [SPEAKER_05]: We only do the hard-hitting questions here.
[00:38:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Who'd win in a fight?
[00:38:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no.
[00:38:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Agatha Harkness without her purple or Indiana Jones?
[00:38:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Agatha without her magic.
[00:38:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Right.
[00:38:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Or Indiana Jones.
[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I do think Agatha, because, like, she will go, like, below the belt, right?
[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, Agatha doesn't have any rules.
[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh-huh.
[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Indy still has some morals.
[00:38:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, he's, you know, questionable, too.
[00:38:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.
[00:38:47] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, shoot instead of fight.
[00:38:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, if they're, like, in a fist fight, he could probably knock her out, but I don't think
[00:38:52] [SPEAKER_02]: she would let him get close enough to hit her.
[00:38:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Indy hit a girl or woman.
[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, doesn't he hit her in the third movie?
[00:38:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he does.
[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_02]: In Last Crusade?
[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Elsa?
[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he hits Elsa.
[00:39:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I could be wrong.
[00:39:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I could be wrong.
[00:39:02] [SPEAKER_02]: And then he fights the Russian...
[00:39:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe he smacks her.
[00:39:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think...
[00:39:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it's an open-handed.
[00:39:05] [SPEAKER_05]: He fights the Russian chick in Crystal Skull, too.
[00:39:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:39:09] [SPEAKER_05]: There it is.
[00:39:09] [SPEAKER_05]: There it is.
[00:39:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:39:11] [SPEAKER_05]: All right, so let's do a...
[00:39:12] [SPEAKER_04]: So you think Indy wins?
[00:39:13] [SPEAKER_04]: No, I think Agatha wins.
[00:39:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Agatha wins.
[00:39:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Again, like, again, if we're just talking, like, brute strength, yeah.
[00:39:18] [SPEAKER_02]: But I think she wouldn't let it get there.
[00:39:20] [SPEAKER_02]: No holds barred for Agatha, right?
[00:39:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, so this is for every character currently in the MCU.
[00:39:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
[00:39:25] [SPEAKER_05]: All right?
[00:39:26] [SPEAKER_05]: We're going to do the Marvel version of F, Marry, Kill.
[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, I love this.
[00:39:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:39:29] [SPEAKER_02]: This is a game that I was made for.
[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, so F1, Marry 1, Kill 1.
[00:39:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Who is it?
[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_05]: I keep saying F, but, I mean, you can say what you want, so...
[00:39:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Bof is what they say on 30 Rock.
[00:39:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Bof.
[00:39:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, yeah, let's do that.
[00:39:41] [SPEAKER_05]: All right, that works.
[00:39:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Bof, Marry, Kill.
[00:39:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:39:43] [SPEAKER_05]: That's good.
[00:39:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Any character.
[00:39:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I thought you were going to give me three and I would pick.
[00:39:45] [SPEAKER_02]: No, I said any character in the MCU.
[00:39:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, my God.
[00:39:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:39:48] [SPEAKER_02]: You can start with whichever one.
[00:39:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, Bof, Kill.
[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, wow.
[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I'm going to kill Sharon Carter.
[00:39:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Get out of my face.
[00:39:54] [SPEAKER_02]: That's good.
[00:39:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, my friend Jackie loves Sharon Carter and I feel bad because, but, like, get away
[00:39:59] [SPEAKER_02]: from me.
[00:39:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I have no interest in ever seeing you again.
[00:40:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I hope she's not listening to me.
[00:40:03] [SPEAKER_02]: You can get lost in the time stream or whatever.
[00:40:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, that's easy.
[00:40:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Marry Bof.
[00:40:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I think, like, it could be recency bias, but, like, right now, like, it's got to be Rio
[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_02]: is who I'm Bof.
[00:40:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she's so amazing.
[00:40:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, she's just, like, so hot.
[00:40:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm with you on that.
[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she's my hall pass.
[00:40:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[00:40:18] [SPEAKER_02]: So, I'm using it.
[00:40:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:40:20] [SPEAKER_02]: And I feel weird not including Scarlet Witch in any of this, but, like, but I don't think
[00:40:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I'd want to marry her.
[00:40:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that would be really intense.
[00:40:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I actually, I think I would like to marry Aunt May.
[00:40:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Ooh.
[00:40:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, does she count, though?
[00:40:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Because she is technically dead, I guess.
[00:40:33] [SPEAKER_02]: But when Marissa Tomei's Aunt May was alive, I would like to marry her for sure.
[00:40:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Nice.
[00:40:37] [SPEAKER_05]: She's, like, the nicest.
[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_05]: So good.
[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, the Marissa Tomei version, I would say yes.
[00:40:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:40:42] [SPEAKER_04]: But if you just said Aunt May.
[00:40:43] [SPEAKER_04]: No, it has to be Marissa Tomei's Aunt May, for sure.
[00:40:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm like, I don't want to be Uncle Ben.
[00:40:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to be Uncle Ben.
[00:40:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:40:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Post, like, I'm the second marriage.
[00:40:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
[00:40:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no, I'm not Ben.
[00:40:53] [SPEAKER_05]: It's fine if you're Uncle Ben in Spider Woman's universe, because he's still alive.
[00:40:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's great.
[00:40:59] [SPEAKER_02]: But no, I would like to be me, Jamie Jarek.
[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Specifically, Marissa Tomei's Aunt May.
[00:41:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:41:04] [SPEAKER_02]: And then I'll be Peter's, like, kind of step-aunt.
[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think that would be really fun, too.
[00:41:10] [SPEAKER_05]: That would just be a fun family dynamic relationship.
[00:41:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:41:13] [SPEAKER_05]: We'd have a great time.
[00:41:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.
[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_05]: So what's next for you?
[00:41:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, what do you have coming up?
[00:41:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, the big panel tomorrow, October 6th, 1 p.m., room 402A.
[00:41:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Come check it out.
[00:41:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I really have to put this episode out tonight.
[00:41:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.
[00:41:24] [SPEAKER_04]: You're sorry.
[00:41:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Figueroa Street in LA.
[00:41:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:41:29] [SPEAKER_05]: At the Los Angeles Convention Center.
[00:41:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, here we go.
[00:41:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Downtown Los Angeles.
[00:41:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I made bracelets to throw out, so that's really exciting.
[00:41:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I know.
[00:41:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Other than that, oh, my gosh.
[00:41:38] [SPEAKER_04]: By the way, the whole bracelet thing that you made for Katherine Hahn and the cast, super cute.
[00:41:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
[00:41:44] [SPEAKER_02]: It's so funny because I'm not a Swifty.
[00:41:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I have, like, no feelings about Taylor Swift whatsoever, but I love that she's made these popular.
[00:41:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:41:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Because I think they're really fun to make.
[00:41:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I really am.
[00:41:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I enjoy the craft.
[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_02]: And it is fun.
[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_05]: It was a part of the EDM community way before that.
[00:41:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
[00:41:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, it, of course, predates.
[00:41:58] [SPEAKER_02]: But, like, the fact that it's, like, now so mainstream.
[00:42:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:42:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And I do have to constantly explain, like, no, I'm sorry.
[00:42:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I don't know any.
[00:42:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I could name three Taylor Swift songs probably.
[00:42:06] [SPEAKER_05]: My wife is a Swifty, too, so I mean, like, there's that.
[00:42:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:42:08] [SPEAKER_05]: No shade.
[00:42:09] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just not for me.
[00:42:11] [SPEAKER_02]: So, but Love and the Time of Hydra, we typically record live Sundays.
[00:42:16] [SPEAKER_02]: So if you ever want to come, like, listen live on the chat, tomorrow's episode is...
[00:42:21] [SPEAKER_03]: So, like, live on YouTube?
[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:42:23] [SPEAKER_02]: We record Sundays at 5 p.m. Pacific time is when we record live.
[00:42:27] [SPEAKER_02]: So we love the chat.
[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_02]: We love when you guys come in and chat with us.
[00:42:30] [SPEAKER_02]: And, but then they release on Mondays because those are the actual 10th anniversaries.
[00:42:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Right now, I feel like that's all is just Lido because I don't have a job.
[00:42:37] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm, like, I feel like I'm, like, missing something really big.
[00:42:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to walk away, like...
[00:42:42] [SPEAKER_02]: You make your own job.
[00:42:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[00:42:44] [SPEAKER_02]: You're a hustler.
[00:42:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, actually, okay, I do.
[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I actually do have something to plug.
[00:42:47] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm stalling for time while I pull it up so that I can get it all correctly.
[00:42:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Wow, look at me.
[00:42:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Riffing, riffing, riffing.
[00:42:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Here I go.
[00:42:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm with it.
[00:42:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so because Phase Zero is not happening anymore, I was like, well, I have to talk about
[00:42:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Agatha on the podcast.
[00:43:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Somewhere, yes.
[00:43:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, so I'm kind of doing, like, a tour, a podcast tour.
[00:43:04] [SPEAKER_02]: So for the first episode, yeah.
[00:43:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so I, for episodes one and two, I did the direct podcast.
[00:43:11] [SPEAKER_02]: For episode three, I did Slayer Fest 98.
[00:43:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Episode four, I did Agents of Fandom.
[00:43:15] [SPEAKER_02]: And coming up for episode five of Agatha, I will be on Comic Book Queers, which is hosted
[00:43:18] [SPEAKER_02]: by my very good friend, Brett Maness.
[00:43:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Episode six, I'm doing We're Watching What?
[00:43:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And then episode seven, I'm very excited for this.
[00:43:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm doing New Rockstars, The Break Room for episode seven of Agatha.
[00:43:28] [SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah.
[00:43:29] [SPEAKER_02]: So keep an eye out for those to get all my...
[00:43:31] [SPEAKER_05]: We're friends with Tommy Bechtold.
[00:43:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, I know Tommy.
[00:43:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:43:34] [SPEAKER_05]: We're friends with Tommy.
[00:43:34] [SPEAKER_02]: He once accidentally abandoned me and two other people at an airport.
[00:43:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, yeah.
[00:43:38] [SPEAKER_02]: It was not his fault, but, like, we gave him a hard time for it.
[00:43:40] [SPEAKER_02]: We blamed him, for sure.
[00:43:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Filled out.
[00:43:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I know.
[00:43:54] [SPEAKER_02]: But, like, if anyone ever wants me to talk about the Penguin, I'm very good.
[00:43:57] [SPEAKER_05]: I would love to do that because the Penguin's for great.
[00:43:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm so into it.
[00:44:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And, like, recently a podcast had me on to talk about, like, just some, like, megalopolis.
[00:44:04] [SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, yes, I'd love to talk about literally anything else.
[00:44:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, that's, like...
[00:44:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about the trailers.
[00:44:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I love Marvel, but, like, I do see all the new movies.
[00:44:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I see everything.
[00:44:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, if you invite me on to talk about anything, I'll be like, heck yeah.
[00:44:16] [SPEAKER_05]: The way I've been describing Penguin is it's Sopranos with Batman characters.
[00:44:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:44:20] [SPEAKER_05]: And it's amazing.
[00:44:21] [SPEAKER_05]: I love it.
[00:44:21] [SPEAKER_02]: The two of them are just so good.
[00:44:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:44:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I...
[00:44:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Because I...
[00:44:25] [SPEAKER_02]: The Batman is a very good film, but it's a little too serious for me.
[00:44:28] [SPEAKER_02]: And my personal tastes.
[00:44:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, my favorite movies are Batman Returns and Batman and Robin.
[00:44:33] [SPEAKER_02]: So, like...
[00:44:34] [SPEAKER_02]: But, like, Colin Farrell and Kristen are both being, like, they're funny in this show.
[00:44:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:44:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And I appreciate the humor.
[00:44:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
[00:44:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
[00:44:40] [SPEAKER_02]: So, wait.
[00:44:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't get to ask, what is your favorite movie?
[00:44:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Or just a movie that you love?
[00:44:45] [SPEAKER_04]: No, it doesn't matter what era.
[00:44:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[00:44:47] [SPEAKER_02]: So, Grease is number one.
[00:44:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:44:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Grease is number one.
[00:44:49] [SPEAKER_04]: It's number one.
[00:44:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[00:44:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I can just tell you my top five.
[00:44:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Number two is Star Wars.
[00:44:53] [SPEAKER_02]: E.O.G.
[00:44:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Love it.
[00:44:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Love it.
[00:44:54] [SPEAKER_02]: All right.
[00:44:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Number three is Pulp Fiction.
[00:44:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:44:56] [SPEAKER_02]: There you go.
[00:44:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Number four is Die Hard.
[00:44:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Ooh.
[00:44:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And number five is When Harry Met Sally.
[00:44:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Those are my top five favorite movies.
[00:44:59] [SPEAKER_05]: So, I've got to ask you about your fourth movie.
[00:45:01] [SPEAKER_05]: Is it a Christmas movie?
[00:45:02] [SPEAKER_02]: So, this is interesting because, like, yeah, sure.
[00:45:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, if something takes place at Christmas, it's a Christmas movie.
[00:45:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
[00:45:07] [SPEAKER_02]: But for me, I will watch it at Christmas time.
[00:45:09] [SPEAKER_02]: But I actually watch Die Hard every Valentine's Day.
[00:45:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I have watched it 16 years in a row on Valentine's Day.
[00:45:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I have Candy Heart, C.A.P.K., Candy Heart Tattoo.
[00:45:16] [SPEAKER_02]: It started as kind of like a thing in college and became a tradition where we play a drinking game to Die Hard every Valentine's Day.
[00:45:22] [SPEAKER_02]: And my birthday is the day after Valentine's Day.
[00:45:24] [SPEAKER_02]: So, for the past 16 years, I have woke up hungover on my birthday every single year because of Die Hard.
[00:45:29] [SPEAKER_02]: That is awesome.
[00:45:29] [SPEAKER_02]: It is hard.
[00:45:30] [SPEAKER_02]: It's Die Hard.
[00:45:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:45:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, you know, if you're going to die, you've got to do it hard.
[00:45:34] [SPEAKER_05]: It's so good.
[00:45:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Where can everybody follow you, learn more about you, like social media, all your pluggables, everything that you got?
[00:45:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm at Jamie Jerak, my name, on Instagram, TikTok, and Letterboxd.
[00:45:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Letterboxd is my favorite app.
[00:45:46] [SPEAKER_02]: It's the one that I like to use the most.
[00:45:47] [SPEAKER_02]: And then at Jamie Cinematics on Twitter.
[00:45:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I made that handle when I was 19, and now I'm stuck with it 15 years later.
[00:45:53] [SPEAKER_02]: And then for my podcast, at LidoPod on Instagram and Twitter.
[00:45:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Love in the Time of Hydra is the full name.
[00:45:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Wait, you have to spell out Lido.
[00:46:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Lido is L-I-T-T-O-8.
[00:46:01] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's like we wanted to do an acronym because of S.H.I.E.L.D.
[00:46:05] [SPEAKER_02]: But Love in the Time of Hydra is the official name, and you can find us on YouTube, on Spotify, all those places.
[00:46:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:46:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And if you've never watched Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., watch along with Tony.
[00:46:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:46:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Make it your first time.
[00:46:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:46:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Be a Tony head.
[00:46:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I just made that up.
[00:46:18] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if that was stupid.
[00:46:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Hashtag Tony head.
[00:46:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:46:21] [SPEAKER_04]: There you go.
[00:46:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Perfect.
[00:46:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Jamie, it's been amazing.
[00:46:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you so much.
[00:46:24] [SPEAKER_02]: This was awesome.
[00:46:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I had so much fun.
[00:46:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Awesome.
[00:46:26] [SPEAKER_05]: We're happy you had fun.
[00:46:27] [SPEAKER_05]: This was great.
[00:46:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Hail Hydra.
[00:46:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Hail Hydra.
[00:46:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, there you go.
[00:46:30] [SPEAKER_05]: And thank you.
