00:02:14
To be fair, I almost said like 3 different like different
00:02:17
segments that we normally do. And I was like, wait, I'm
00:02:19
introducing the show. My mind was all over the place.
00:02:23
Your mind is always all over the.
00:02:25
Place it is I'm apparently Jen the fray ice cream that Jen the
00:02:28
fray the ice cream to get to I don't know I'm broken.
00:02:30
Ladies and gentlemen, let's get into this.
00:02:34
This week on deck, we've got straight from Jay Jonah watching
00:02:38
the Watchtower. Got a new trailer segment for
00:02:41
you here. Trailer talk, going to review a
00:02:44
couple trailers here. Headlines, of course.
00:02:47
And in the show with everybody's controversial takes, it's the
00:02:50
trend up. But before we get into all of
00:02:53
that, James, tell us what the show has brought brought.
00:02:57

00:03:31
Well, ladies and gentlemen, let's see if I can get
00:03:33
everything back on track here because I am not doing well
00:03:37
today. Ladies and gentlemen, let's jump
00:03:40
into the first segment. Let's talk about all the news
00:03:42
that's going on in the world. It's the time for the download.
00:03:45
Oh God, did I really just do this without 7 screens?
00:03:48
All right. Here we.
00:03:57
It also doesn't help that like things have to load when I tap
00:04:00
on them, so it's like cool, now I get to wait for this to load
00:04:03
up on the screen. It happens.
00:04:05
Yeah, yeah. Anyways, all right, ladies and
00:04:07
gentlemen, let's jump into the first segment here.
00:04:09
It's time to get everything that's going around the Marvel
00:04:12
Universe. It's time.
00:04:13
I'm straight from Jay Jonah. Oh, that's me.
00:04:16
If these leaks are real family, maybe the heart of Doomsday.
00:04:22
Alleged alleged descriptions. Alleged descriptions?
00:04:25
That sounds very like serious. Alleged descriptions of four
00:04:29
separate teaser trailers for Avengers Doomsday have surfaced
00:04:32
online, each spotlighting a different character or theme.
00:04:36
If true, Marvel is rolling out a carefully staged hype campaign.
00:04:42
OK, so I'm going to give you the lowdown on all four, right?
00:04:46
And then I kind of want to talk about this a little bit.
00:04:48
So there's a Steve Rogers teaser apparently, and that's supposed
00:04:52
to be the first one. So Steve is shown riding home on
00:04:56
a bike. He's and he carries his baby boy
00:04:58
like different things. And the tagline reads, Steve
00:05:02
Rogers will return in Avengers Doomsday.
00:05:05
Then Thor in the woods. So Chris Hemsworth Thor kneels
00:05:09
in the forest, praying to Odin before a massive battle, asking
00:05:14
for his safe return to his his daughter.
00:05:17
And then there's the Doctor Doom teaser.
00:05:20
Now it's shrouded in secrecy, only described as a Doctor Doom
00:05:24
reveal. So you know it's going to be
00:05:26
crazy. Maybe they'll get Trevor
00:05:28
Slattery to do like the narration.
00:05:29
Anyway, no footage details have leaked for it, leaving fans
00:05:33
speculating wildly about how Marvel's going to introduce
00:05:36
them. And then the 4th 1 is going to
00:05:38
be like the whole like the big ensemble one like everyone's in
00:05:41
that one. And there's like some idea that
00:05:45
since they're really pushing Steve with his baby son and Thor
00:05:50
with his daughter in the first time we see Doom on screen is
00:05:55
Franklin gets to look at his face 1st.
00:05:57
And so that's also kind of a familial connection.
00:06:01
So they're saying that maybe it's all family theme that it's,
00:06:04
you know, tying all that stuff together and and really talking
00:06:07
more about lineage and like maybe making it about that.
00:06:11
So, but the release date is going to be December 18th of 20
00:06:16
26. What do you guys think about
00:06:18
these 4-4 different like teasers?
00:06:22
I, I think it's a smart strategy, mainly just because it
00:06:25
seems like what they're trying to do is build that hype exactly
00:06:28
almost what you're saying right now, where they're building the
00:06:30
hype when it comes to family and family ties to characters and
00:06:34
everything like that. Unfortunately, I've seen the
00:06:39
screenshot leaks, leaks of that first Captain America trailer
00:06:44
and it just because it came across my feed and the way they
00:06:46
did it was like, you know, one of those one screen, but it has
00:06:49
eight screenshots and it's like, damn it, all right, well, I'm
00:06:52
not missing this. And the things that I've seen.
00:06:55
It's obviously new faded footage.
00:06:58
It it basically was exactly what you just described right now.
00:07:02
You know, him holding his child, him on the bike, him folding his
00:07:05
Captain America uniform back into into like a crate.
00:07:09
And it's I think that it's a good strategy.
00:07:12
Again, I think that what the whole thing is, it's not only
00:07:16
going to be families, but it's going to be an attempt to break
00:07:18
families, especially with the way that the what they're doing
00:07:21
is trying to tie it from from things that have been coming
00:07:26
out. They are tying it from, you
00:07:28
know, end game, and this is supposed to be directly tied
00:07:31
into end game. So it's almost like they're
00:07:34
acknowledging the multiverse stuff that's happened so far,
00:07:37
but at the same time they're almost going to erase it, with
00:07:40
this movie being something that kind of messes with all the
00:07:43
timelines all at once. Do you think that this is going
00:07:46
to be like a movie that we see what was going on while the
00:07:49
other stuff was going on? So like this is taking place at
00:07:52
the the same time like the Disney Plus stuff is, and all
00:07:56
the movies like the Fantastic Four and all that.
00:07:58
Like we're seeing Doom get to Franklin and he gets to Franklin
00:08:03
last. Like he's already done all the
00:08:05
rest of this. I do believe that that's
00:08:08
probably where they're going to go.
00:08:09
It's it's that is going to kind of show, hey, here's where
00:08:11
everything was was has been happening and this is what
00:08:16
everybody's been doing in the meantime, especially with the
00:08:18
big major characters that have been kind of absent from
00:08:20
everything happening. James, what do you?
00:08:22
Think, you know, that's a good point.
00:08:23
I didn't think about that happening at the same time, but
00:08:26
that would explain a lot. Like, you know, when we watch
00:08:29
some of the Disney plus shows, we're like, where is everybody
00:08:32
else, you know, like what happened to to their teammates?
00:08:37
So that would explain a lot. So I'm interested.
00:08:42
I didn't, I didn't think they were going to do this, but
00:08:44
they're going to do this like 4 different trailers.
00:08:47
I know there was rumors about it, but but they're doing it
00:08:49
like it's, it's right upon us. It's it's pretty interesting.
00:08:52
I do agree with the whole it's, it's a family theme and
00:08:57
something's going to be breaking.
00:08:59
Because I think there's a good hook for like Steve and Thor
00:09:02
that there's stakes that matter to them now, not just like, hey,
00:09:06
we're going to go save the world again or the universe again.
00:09:10
But it's more personal for them, so it makes me wonder what
00:09:14
what's going on with Doctor Doctor Doom.
00:09:17
I don't know what he's going to be doing with Franklin though.
00:09:20
Doctor Detroit, yeah. Yeah.
00:09:23
And and also this, this is where it gets a little weird, right?
00:09:26
Like, do we think that the son that he has here, do we think
00:09:31
that's James Rogers or Ian Rogers?
00:09:34
Oh, I don't know. That brings a lot out.
00:09:38
Like that's something that I don't know.
00:09:41
Because you have James Rogers. So James Rogers is is is Steve's
00:09:46
actual son. He names him after Bucky.
00:09:49
And Ian Rogers is his adopted son in the comics, but you could
00:09:53
easily make Ian his actual son depending on which way they want
00:09:57
to go with that. And Ian is much more of an
00:10:01
expert in hand to hand combat versus where kind of, you know,
00:10:05
James is more James is the actual kid that he had with
00:10:09
Peggy. So it would make sense.
00:10:11
Yeah, you know, and hopefully it is James could.
00:10:13
Didn't they show like a picture of her kids when she was dying
00:10:18
in one of the Captain America movies?
00:10:20
And didn't she have a a son and a daughter?
00:10:23
I think she. I want to say yeah.
00:10:25
Yeah, who was what? What was her name?
00:10:28
His love interest? Sharon.
00:10:29
Sharon. Well, Sharon Carter was Peggy's
00:10:32
niece. Yeah, that would be weird
00:10:34
because he did kiss her and maybe did more.
00:10:36
Stuff again, the family theme. It's a family affair.
00:10:40
Oh, affair. I shouldn't have said that, OK.
00:10:42
Anyway, Oh my gosh. Fred, what do you think about
00:10:44
all this? I like what you guys are saying.
00:10:47
It's really does line up with a lot of the stuff that I'm seeing
00:10:50
and it really does pay off a lot of that.
00:10:54
Thor getting a daughter that's not his own really, but he loves
00:10:58
her as his own. Seeing Doom first with Franklin
00:11:02
is also an interesting. And then also and Steve, like
00:11:06
actually getting to see the stakes that Steve has now.
00:11:09
I love that idea. So yeah, no, I'm totally on
00:11:12
board with all of this. And I just think it's funny
00:11:14
because everybody's like, oh, we're going to have to see this
00:11:16
trailer. And then they're like, Oh no,
00:11:18
it's going to be 4 trailers. And then it's like, you know
00:11:20
what? Fuck you.
00:11:22
Fuck you. It's.
00:11:23
Smart. See them all later.
00:11:24
It's smart marketing on Disney side because now I know at least
00:11:28
three of those are attached to Avatar, so it's going to force
00:11:31
people to go see Avatar. Yeah, three times.
00:11:34
What the fuck? I don't want to see Avatar once.
00:11:37
Why would I want to see it three times?
00:11:38
I'm not doing it. I'm not.
00:11:40
You don't have to sit through Avatar.
00:11:42
I refuse Disney. I refuse.
00:11:45
OK, I'm done with that. I'm I'm over it.
00:11:48
We'll talk about Disney a lot more later.
00:11:49
And I have some things to say about this little Mr. Bob Iger.
00:11:54
OK, next. It's my guy.
00:11:57
It's my little guy. From Hell's Kitchen to the
00:12:00
multiverse, Daredevil may be suiting up for the biggest
00:12:03
crossover of them all. He's going to cross over to my
00:12:07
house. Reports claim Charlie Cox will
00:12:09
reprise his role as Daredevil in Avengers Secret Wars, marking
00:12:14
his return to the big screen after Disney Plus appearances.
00:12:18
So here's like The big things about it is this is going to be
00:12:22
the first time he's in an MCU movie since Spider Man No Way
00:12:26
Home and the rumors that are that tie his arc to multiverse
00:12:31
battles and potentially expanding the street level
00:12:35
heroes roles in the cosmic stakes.
00:12:37
So maybe not just him. Maybe we'll see Jessica, maybe
00:12:41
we'll see a couple of the people from the Disney stuff.
00:12:44
I don't think it's going to be Tatiana Maslany because she
00:12:47
basically told Disney to. And then also Daredevils present
00:12:53
in Secret Wars could point to him also appearing in brand new
00:12:57
Day, right, Because they said Brand new Day leads right into
00:13:01
Doomsday, right? And so you know, him saying, oh,
00:13:05
I'm not in it, I'm not in it. And people going, are you the
00:13:08
werewolf? I think he's the werewolf,
00:13:10
y'all. But the Secret Wars is going to
00:13:12
come out a year and a day after Avengers Doomsday, right?
00:13:17
So it's like December 17th, 2027, whereas Doomsday premiere.
00:13:22
Oh no, no, last, it's like one day less than a year as it's the
00:13:26
18th in 2026. So, Phil, what do you think?
00:13:29
I think it makes sense and mainly just because even though
00:13:32
he is basically just like a, you know, like a sense enhanced, you
00:13:38
know, person fighting amongst meta humans and things like
00:13:40
that. His on screen acumen and just
00:13:44
kind of the way that he conducts himself, his fight style, like
00:13:48
everything about him just screams that he needs more on
00:13:52
like big screen stuff. And the one the one big screen
00:13:57
moment that we had with him was him being a lawyer as Matt
00:14:01
Murdoch, but not fighting. And I want to see with the way
00:14:05
that his character fights and the stunt team that is behind
00:14:09
Matt Murdoch, I want to see what they can do on the big screen in
00:14:13
a higher stakes, you know, bigger budget than what they
00:14:17
already have because, you know, we all know 90% of the budget
00:14:21
for Daredevil ghost of those fight scenes.
00:14:23
So it's like, so I I want to see that same care done to him on
00:14:29
the big screen. And also the blood packets,
00:14:32
because, you know, they got to, they got to use a lot of money.
00:14:35
For God his face is covered in blood in every scene in every
00:14:39
season of Daredevil, including the Disney one.
00:14:42
Because the Disney 1 and they also had a huge budget.
00:14:45
Spoilers for the scene where Fisk crushes that dude's head,
00:14:49
right? Yes, well, and Olive.
00:14:51
And then Frank. When Frank got beat up, he was
00:14:53
dripping with blood. Yeah, blood budget.
00:14:57
I'm telling you, it has got to be massive.
00:15:00
They're just like making corn syrup.
00:15:01
Just like we're just, we're, we don't want you to make meth, we
00:15:04
want you to make corn syrup. So we.
00:15:07
We need more. Labs or corn syrup, Now there's
00:15:12
a market for that. I think we can do it.
00:15:14
Are we starting a business y'all?
00:15:16
Think we might be? James, what do you think?
00:15:18
Well. I think this is a good idea
00:15:20
because, you know, there's not a lot of hand to hand fighters
00:15:24
left, you know, like scar Joe or or Black Widow is gone.
00:15:28
Black Panther, you know, are the new Black Panthers doesn't
00:15:33
really do a ton of of hand to hand type stuff, you know, so I,
00:15:37
I keep picturing like the way Captain America or Nomad was in
00:15:43
was that Infinity War where he just had the two pointed Shields
00:15:46
and just coming at coming at aliens or whatever it was.
00:15:49
We need people that can do that. And I think bringing Daredevil
00:15:53
in to do that would be interesting.
00:15:55
So I, I could definitely see that happening.
00:15:58
Plus having people like Thor, like Thor's way Opie, he's way
00:16:04
too Opie. So we need people that are kind
00:16:06
of grounded, that could take a punch.
00:16:09
He's full God status at this point.
00:16:10
So yeah, it's like, you know, like he is super Opie.
00:16:14
And then you have Captain Marvel, who is super Opie.
00:16:17
You have, you know, so many Scarlet Witch, which rumors are
00:16:21
that she's going to be backed by by Secret Wars, Super Opie, like
00:16:24
just all these characters. And then now we're bringing in
00:16:27
mutants who have nothing but Opie characters.
00:16:30
So yeah, we definitely need some of those grounded fights.
00:16:33
I supposedly we're supposed to be getting more martial arts and
00:16:36
brand new day like with with Spider Man and he's supposed to
00:16:39
be fighting the hand and all that.
00:16:40
So I mean like I, I want to see, I want to see more of that hand
00:16:45
to hand combat stuff. Yeah, I think that's part of the
00:16:48
reason why they didn't have the Hulk in Infinity War is because
00:16:53
he would just be Opie and like whatever Thanos threw at them.
00:16:56
It's like it didn't matter. Yeah, I need more Shang Chi.
00:16:59
I'm sorry, I've been saying this on threads for like the last
00:17:01
month. I need more Shang Chi.
00:17:03
I'm I'm so upset that we have not had Shang Chi in five years.
00:17:07
I know, I mean, you know, Simu was busy being a Barbie, but you
00:17:13
know, whatever. Speaking spider man.
00:17:17
Oh look, it's Charlie Cox again. Spidey, Punisher and Grey Hall.
00:17:22
They're not walking anywhere. Sounds less like a team up, more
00:17:25
like a demolition Derby. Kind of does.
00:17:28
If I hadn't fucked it up, it would have been great.
00:17:30
Rumors suggest Spider Man Brand New Day will feature Peter
00:17:33
Parker teaming up with the Punisher to take on none other
00:17:37
than the Grey Hulk. That's right, fellas, a grey
00:17:41
Hulk. Not Maestro, but Joe Vixen.
00:17:43
All right, so Spidey, A Punisher, a lion, Are you ready?
00:17:50
So a rare came up that could bring Marvel's darker St. level
00:17:53
vigilante into Spider Man's orbit.
00:17:55
I just I I see like spider man doing all these jokes and stuff
00:17:59
and punish her just being like, are you done?
00:18:02
Like that's really what I see. And I feel like it's just going
00:18:05
to be perfect. It's going to be chef chef's
00:18:07
kiss perfect. Anyway, the Joe Fixit persona of
00:18:10
Hulk is rumored to be the antagonist, adding a moral,
00:18:15
morally complex foe. And then I mean, I said this
00:18:19
too, you know, the Spider man quips and the Punishers grit.
00:18:22
But I, you know, I feel like he might corrupt Peter a little.
00:18:27
Peter might get a little darker viewpoint.
00:18:29
Anyway, it releases on July 31st of 2026, so less than a year,
00:18:37
like seven months. Bill, what do you think?
00:18:40
It's interesting if they're bringing in the Gray Hulk for
00:18:42
the ring and Joe fix it in. Are they going to Vegas?
00:18:45
He could leap there. Like is is, is Peter even old
00:18:49
enough to go to Vegas? Not yet.
00:18:50
I mean, graduated high school, yeah.
00:18:53
Yes, but that's three years later.
00:18:55
There's this three years after he graduated high school.
00:18:57
Like, I mean, it could be they could be telling that story
00:18:59
because I mean, you can. Go on the floor at 18 into
00:19:04
casinos, buddy. Yeah, but.
00:19:05
That's not fun. Vegas isn't fun until you're 21.
00:19:08
Oh that's alright. Unless you're a Raider fan, then
00:19:10
you can go be disappointed at Allegiant.
00:19:12
But I mean like. That was uncalled for.
00:19:16
That's unsportsmanlike conduct, so I'm throwing the flag.
00:19:21
The Emirates game that the Spurs are in right now.
00:19:24
There you go that that that that's fine too now and and Frey
00:19:28
you know you know my reference to that Joe fix it like first
00:19:31
emerges in in Vegas. So I was like, are they going to
00:19:33
Vegas or are they going to reference Vegas with this?
00:19:36
But I I like that they're bringing in the different
00:19:40
versions of the Hulk. I think eventually, given that
00:19:44
they keep expanding on the Hulk in this, I feel like they're
00:19:48
almost setting up agents to smash at this point, which would
00:19:52
be really cool. Maybe no, I want it.
00:19:55
Yeah, I know. Like if they just, if we're
00:19:57
getting Grey Hulk, we've already got Red Hulk, we've already got
00:20:00
the original Hulk, we've got multiple versions.
00:20:02
If we get, we've been introduced to Amadeus Cho in an alternate
00:20:06
universe. So it's like, OK, we get Amadeus
00:20:08
Cho and and we get. She Hulk.
00:20:11
We have she Hulk. That's right.
00:20:12
So like, it almost seems like they're setting up, like
00:20:15
inadvertently setting up Agents of Smash, which would.
00:20:18
Be we have 5 hulks. Are we talking 5 Hulks in the
00:20:22
MCU right now? If, if it's true that we're
00:20:24
getting the Gray Hulk. And again, Amadeus Cho has been
00:20:28
introduced, but he hasn't Hulked out yet.
00:20:30
So it's like, yeah, in in the MCU, his mom was introduced.
00:20:35
So we know his mom exists in the universe, and again, he's a
00:20:39
scientist in an alternate universe at this point.
00:20:41
So, you know, we know Amadeus Cho is there, which means, you
00:20:45
know, where they're begging for to to have the 2nd hole come
00:20:48
out. And technically we have the
00:20:50
Hulkling too. Yeah.
00:20:51
Yeah, with weird hair, but yeah. Yeah, I mean, we have the
00:20:55
Hulkling scars here. So I mean, like technically we
00:20:58
have another Hulk. So I mean, you know, there
00:21:00
there's there's, there's a couple of different Hulks that
00:21:02
we have. I think that it makes sense.
00:21:04
That also makes sense to have Spider Man and Frank Castle, to
00:21:09
have to have Peter Parker and Frank Castle, instead of
00:21:12
fighting regular Hulk, you're fighting the Gray Hulk, who
00:21:16
tends to be more savage on the front.
00:21:19
Yeah, on the front end, you know, and then he's more
00:21:21
reasonable on the back end, but it's like he tends to be way
00:21:25
more savage in the on the front end.
00:21:27
Punches first and ask questions later.
00:21:29
What would, yeah, what would be cool is if we get a moment where
00:21:34
Bruce shows up and punches Joe, fix it in the face and we get to
00:21:39
get some Hulk on Hulk action. He's so dope.
00:21:42
And then the porn parody would be totally different.
00:21:45
Oh, yeah. Hulk on Hulk action.
00:21:48
Didn't that happen? All right?
00:21:49
Didn't that happen with China back in the day?
00:21:52
OK, stop. I'm, I'm not, I'm not feeling
00:21:56
this. I think there's too many people
00:21:59
with with the gamma rays and the Hulkness.
00:22:02
There's too many people with the, with the secret serum.
00:22:05
That's not so secret. Everybody can be a Captain of
00:22:07
America now out of nowhere. So I don't like it.
00:22:10
I feel like this is a, a quick fix for a, a villain or
00:22:14
something to fight, but I don't like it.
00:22:16
Like, I don't know who Joe fix it is.
00:22:18
Like we're just going to throw another Hulk in.
00:22:20
Like what? Nah, I'm not feeling it.
00:22:23
So his tacos are off the table for this one.
00:22:26
Yeah, I guess so to call back from, I don't know, episodes ago
00:22:30
since we haven't done that in a while.
00:22:33
Yeah, Yeah. No, I, I, you know, at this
00:22:35
point I'm just like, so over how many people they've talked about
00:22:39
being in this. Oh, where are your tacos?
00:22:42
No, I'm like, do it. Just put everybody in it.
00:22:44
I don't. I don't care anymore.
00:22:45
But again, I've mentioned. My tacos are ambivalent at most.
00:22:49
Again, I've mentioned that as long as the way that they do it
00:22:52
is not just, you know, characters in the entire movie
00:22:57
for the entire movie, it's like you can do an opening scene.
00:23:02
They've done this in other movies.
00:23:03
You can do an opening scene with Peter and and Frank teaming up
00:23:08
to fight grey Hulk. And that's like the opening, you
00:23:11
know, insight into what's happening in in in in the movie.
00:23:15
And it's more just showing like, you know, kind of like what
00:23:17
Spider Man has been doing since he's been, you know, since
00:23:21
nobody knows who he is again. Or they could do it thing where
00:23:24
they're fighting, go fix it. And then it it like stops and
00:23:29
you hear Tom Holland like say, oh, hi, let me tell you how I
00:23:34
got here. Yeah.
00:23:35
And then they go back and then it ends with.
00:23:38
That would be cute. Or, or or you do a or at some
00:23:43
point in there you've got to do a sun's going down big guy, and
00:23:46
Joe just looks at him and punches him across and like into
00:23:49
a building and it's like that usually works.
00:23:50
He's like, he's like, it's noon. No, but like because that worked
00:23:55
with with David, right. But it's the word with David
00:23:57
with Bruce got harkening back to the 70s.
00:24:00
Sorry, harkening back to the 70s that that worked with with
00:24:03
Bruce, right. But it's like Joe Fixit isn't
00:24:06
Bruce Banner psyche wise. So it's like.
00:24:08
Yeah, like, whatever. OK, good for you.
00:24:11
All right, so the Marvel Universe is shaping up for some
00:24:15
seismic lashes. Now let's teleport to the
00:24:18
Watchtower for some DCU news and rumor.
00:24:22
Hey, before we get to the DC stuff, just to pull back to the
00:24:26
Daredevil, I did see that Charlie Cox is in a new movie on
00:24:30
Amazon. I think it's called Merv.
00:24:33
I watched it by accident the other day.
00:24:36
It is very cheesy. That dude can see he didn't have
00:24:39
sunglasses on, he was using his eyes.
00:24:41
It was weird to see his eyes moving around the screen.
00:24:44
It felt off to. Me, I don't like it.
00:24:46
Did you also watch MERV? I'm just saying that I saw the
00:24:49
trailer. I'm like, is that Charlie Cox?
00:24:51
Then he started talking and then he had a British accent and like
00:24:54
Daredevil's British, and then now Daredevil can see.
00:24:57
Yeah, I'm not going to jump too much into this, but it felt
00:24:59
really weird because there's a scene where he meets his parent
00:25:02
where you meet his parents and you meet his mom 1st and she's
00:25:05
just 100 percent American. And I'm like, so is he just
00:25:08
gonna? And they're like in California?
00:25:10
So it's like, so he just, he's just weirdly has a British
00:25:14
accent and then you meet his dad and his daddy's British.
00:25:16
So it's like, okay, now it makes sense.
00:25:18
Yeah, yeah, okay, wow. All right, so Greece maybe
00:25:24
setting up Gotham's most heartbreaking love story.
00:25:27
Rumor suggests Scarlett Johansson, AKA Scar Joe is being
00:25:31
considered to play Gilda Dent in The Batman Part 2, potentially
00:25:36
weaving in key storylines from The Long Halloween.
00:25:39
So not, I mean, I don't want to spoil a lot.
00:25:43
So if it does happen, but Gilda Dent is married to Harvey Dent
00:25:48
and she is part of that. She's she's a major part of the
00:25:53
story and Long Halloween, but I, but yeah, I don't want to really
00:25:59
spoil it. It's just she, it takes her job
00:26:02
as his wife very seriously. I'll just say that.
00:26:06
And so Johansson's casting would also bring star power and
00:26:10
emotional weight to that role. And then I mean, of course, like
00:26:14
The Batman is going to be released on October 1st of 2027.
00:26:18
I like they're doing it in October just to say like because
00:26:22
it does seem very Halloween like Batman to me.
00:26:27
Should be a Halloween movie. All of them would be October.
00:26:31
Well, especially if what do you think?
00:26:33
Yeah, especially if they are tying into Long Halloween.
00:26:36
That makes a lot of sense, yeah. Did they say if they were going
00:26:40
to playoff Long Halloween? I I wasn't.
00:26:42
Sure, the first movie was was 100% based on Long Halloween.
00:26:46
It was a portion of it, but it was based on long Halloween.
00:26:48
OK, so it's it's like if they're going that route, if they're
00:26:52
going along those lines and then that makes a lot of sense.
00:26:55
Guilt bringing in gilded dent makes a lot of sense.
00:26:58
I also, I, I can understand why Scarlett would, would cancel the
00:27:04
other movies that she's working on in order to do this because
00:27:09
gilded Dent is a character wise, she is a major player in that
00:27:16
series. And she would she would be
00:27:19
spanning between both Batman Part 2 and Batman Part 3, which
00:27:23
you know, they're saying they're going to end it on the third
00:27:24
movie. So it's it makes a lot of sense
00:27:28
to bring her in and for her to focus so much on this because
00:27:31
this is going to take a a lot out of her emotionally.
00:27:34
That character is so tragic. It's ridiculous.
00:27:37
She's got a lot of layers and all of them are crazy.
00:27:41
Anyway, James, what do you? I it's interesting if they pull
00:27:46
this off because having a name like Scar Joe, I, you know,
00:27:51
somebody that like a major name coming over from the MCU over to
00:27:55
the whatever version of the DCU this is, is a major get.
00:28:00
But also having them not be like a main character that is in
00:28:05
multiple projects is, is sort of interesting.
00:28:09
You know, I thought maybe they'd bring her in and she'd be, I
00:28:11
don't know, like part of the Justice League or something like
00:28:14
that somehow. But she's going to be playing.
00:28:16
She's going to be in the Long Halloween.
00:28:19
Canary, right? Yeah, she would be.
00:28:21
The only thing is that what they're going for is more
00:28:25
dramatic realism when it comes to this version of the Batman.
00:28:27
I mean judging based on the 1st movie and then how the Penguin
00:28:32
played out like she her coming in as gilded Dent in this
00:28:36
universe again would be highly tragic.
00:28:39
And it's, it's a way for her to like to, to, to really stretch
00:28:43
those acting jobs. Yeah, doing something that she
00:28:46
hasn't done for a while, and I think that's good.
00:28:48
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, I agree with you guys.
00:28:51
I, I think it's interesting. I didn't think about Gilded Dent
00:28:54
because I didn't know if they were going to continue the long,
00:28:57
long Halloween or if they were going to do something else.
00:29:00
So that's why I was like, hey, Sasha Bordeaux.
00:29:02
Hey, what about this? What about?
00:29:03
Yeah, but I, I like it. I, I think she can do it.
00:29:06
I think it's really, it would be a good character for her to do,
00:29:11
giving a little like Lucy vibes to me, just a little bit as far
00:29:15
as like how far she'll go kind of thing.
00:29:18
But yeah, I like it a lot. That's kind of kind of dope and.
00:29:22
We didn't get Harvey in the first movie, did we?
00:29:24
No, and they did kill off the DA so it does make sense.
00:29:29
Right. So it would make sense for for
00:29:31
Harvey to come in as the DA in this.
00:29:33
And I mean, even then, Harvey, Harvey Dent in Long Halloween,
00:29:36
like it's one of those characters that plays a big role
00:29:38
but doesn't play the big role. Like, he's not, he's not kind of
00:29:42
like the main focus, but he's there.
00:29:44
Yeah, that'll be that. I like it.
00:29:46
I think it's a interesting take and I hope it is is true so.
00:29:50
Yeah, it'll be interesting if they go the entire Long
00:29:53
Halloween, Halloween, the Long Halloween arc in this and then
00:29:58
go, yeah, go to Hush by the third movie.
00:30:01
But like, if they do Long Halloween and we get Harvey Dent
00:30:05
and we get Calendar Man and we get Scarecrow and we get all
00:30:09
these characters that are so involved in Long Halloween and
00:30:13
then the if it pays off by the end of the end of this movie and
00:30:16
leads into Hush, that'd be amazing.
00:30:18
It would be amazing. It would be a good lead in, too,
00:30:22
because I think Hush really does lend himself to something like
00:30:25
that. Yeah, You know, I do enjoy
00:30:28
Batman and his family, but I feel like we should get super.
00:30:32
An imperfect Supergirl may be exactly what the DCU needs to
00:30:36
soar. James Gunn has emphasized that
00:30:39
his version of Supergirl will be imperfect and human quality, he
00:30:43
says make her compelling. So guns approach does contrast
00:30:47
with the traditional portrayals of Supergirl as flawless or
00:30:51
idealized and gives her more depth and layers there.
00:30:54
There was one where, like when Jim Lee reintroduced her, where
00:30:59
they tried to make her a little flawed and they went through
00:31:01
that whole dark side thing where she went bad and then she was
00:31:05
redeemed and then she went to Paradise Island and all that.
00:31:09
But and I feel like that's the closest that they've come before
00:31:13
for woman of tomorrow, but woman of tomorrow does tend to really
00:31:16
highlight that part of her. So I think that's great.
00:31:19
The vision aligns with his broader DCU philosophy of plot
00:31:23
relatable hero as well. And the release date for
00:31:26
Supergirl is slated for June 26th, 26th.
00:31:30
So that's 062626 y'all nice. Not a seven in the in the group.
00:31:36
What's up Bill, Tell me, tell me your thoughts and your dreams
00:31:39
about Super Ghoul. I, I am so, so on board and
00:31:44
we're going to talk about this here in a minute, but I mean,
00:31:45
like, it's just, I'm so on board for what this is and where
00:31:51
they're going with it. I, I, I, I love the way that
00:31:55
they've already portrayed her so far, the way that she looks in
00:31:58
the trailer and, and just kind of the way that they're playing
00:32:02
her off to be. She's not the, you know, broken,
00:32:06
but still innocent Cara that we knew before Woman of tomorrow.
00:32:10
She is very much the broken and and I don't know how to fix
00:32:17
these pieces oral that we know from from from the better,
00:32:22
better comics that are out there.
00:32:23
It's it's these character studies that that make her
00:32:26
again, so much more human than than anybody gives her credit.
00:32:31
And I get it. Her and her and cow are both
00:32:33
alien, but you know, and Cara had time to grow up, you know,
00:32:38
on, on Krypton. And she, I, I, I, I just love
00:32:42
the level of PTSD and a superhero that they're playing
00:32:46
off of on this. And again, we'll talk about that
00:32:48
when we're here in a moment because I'm I'm blown away by
00:32:51
the way that they're, they're already portraying the character
00:32:54
and we haven't even seen that much yet.
00:32:56
Absolutely, James. Yeah, I agree.
00:32:58
Let's get to the trailer. I.
00:33:01
Just wanted to talk about the trailer.
00:33:03
Yeah, things that I will say about this before we do get to
00:33:07
the trailer. I do enjoy that, that James Gunn
00:33:11
wants his heroes to be flawed and wants them to be like human,
00:33:16
to show the human side of them. Because I feel like when you do
00:33:20
that to any hero, you really make them more relatable and
00:33:25
then and that makes people love them more.
00:33:28
And so, yeah, I absolutely love it.
00:33:30
And I do love how she can't talk to Clark, think about it,
00:33:34
because Clark didn't go through any of it.
00:33:37
And so she feels way more isolated than he does.
00:33:40
And so I like that. Like, you know, as Clark feels
00:33:44
isolated himself because he's different.
00:33:46
He still had that human experience growing up and and
00:33:50
Cara didn't get that. So I love that they're
00:33:53
highlighting that. But anyway.
00:33:55
Weirdly, he's still her baby cousin somehow, but I mean like
00:33:57
you. Know, I know, right?
00:33:58
And that's kind of also like screw with her head too.
00:34:00
It's like my baby cousin is older than me and look how
00:34:04
totally got oh shit, you know, like it's that kind of thing.
00:34:07
But from cosmic clashes and Gotham shadows, we zoom out of
00:34:12
the Watchtower and back down to earth.
00:34:14
It's time to shift gears, get out the popcorn and talk some
00:34:17
trailers. It's time for trailer talk.
00:34:20
Oh yeah, that's right. But before we get into Trailer
00:34:23
Talk, ladies and gentlemen, this show and everything that we do
00:34:27
here is brought to you by the good folks over at Debbie.

00:34:49
Guys, it is delicious. There are all kinds of fun
00:34:52
things that they've got going on.
00:34:53
Got a bunch of new flavors. I think they just dropped a new
00:34:55
flavor yesterday. I didn't even look at what it
00:34:57
was, but I got a notification. They've just been dropping
00:35:00
flavors like like, like, like flies in a barn.
00:35:03
It's crazy. OK, Yeah, just keep going.
00:35:09
He's like, weird. Reference to keep going it.
00:35:12
Was meant to be it was meant to be a weird reference, but yes,
00:35:15
ladies and gentlemen, let's keep it going.
00:35:17
We did watch a a couple of trailers and we want to tell
00:35:20
everybody about what we saw and how we feel about those things.
00:35:24
So, ladies and gentlemen, let's jump right into trailer talk
00:35:27
here. Supergirl finally takes flight
00:35:30
in her first DCU teaser. This was awesome.
00:35:34
The teaser for Supergirl. It's not you, James.
00:35:37
No, it's me, Phil. No, it's me.
00:35:40
I'm the one that wanted to talk Supergirl.
00:35:42
It's OK, Let him, let him took it.
00:35:43
Here let me do Supergirl cuz this.
00:35:45
Is actually. I want to talk to the other two
00:35:47
anyway, so let him do this one. Yeah, see.
00:35:50
All right. Anarchy, the teacher for
00:35:52
Supergirl, introduces Millie Alcock as Cara Zorro, showcasing
00:35:56
her journey across alien worlds and her struggle with
00:35:59
imperfection. Okay, we all saw the trailer.
00:36:02
Yeah, yeah, as Philippe was talking about it on the last
00:36:06
story. I'm like, let's just get to the
00:36:07
trailer. Let's talk about the trailer.
00:36:08
So would you guys think of a trailer of, of Cara?
00:36:12
You know, we've, we've read Woman of tomorrow.
00:36:15
Yes, we saw her wielding a sword.
00:36:17
Yes. What did you guys think of the
00:36:19
trailer? How about we do some kind of
00:36:21
rating like out of 10? Yeah, yeah.
00:36:26
I'm also going to give it a 10 out of 10.
00:36:27
I'm going to give this 10 small city or 10 giant cities in a
00:36:31
small bottle out of 10. 10 swords.
00:36:38
That or no no no no no. 10 lassoed things that are
00:36:43
destroying people in a circle. Reference to the end of the end
00:36:47
of the trailer. We haven't done this in a long
00:36:51
time. We haven't done this in a while.
00:36:53
And, and I, I miss doing this actually just making things up
00:36:56
on the fly like that. No, this trailer was great.
00:36:59
Just, it's funny, everybody who's complaining about it
00:37:02
online is like, oh, it's James Gunn doing Guardians of the
00:37:04
Galaxy. Well #1 James Gunn didn't direct
00:37:07
or write this movie. So you guys can shut shove it.
00:37:09
Just shut up, right? He did not write it.
00:37:12
He did not direct it. He is the producer and executive
00:37:16
producer behind it, but he's not the one doing all the work on
00:37:20
this and, and the comic. If you if you're sitting there
00:37:24
complaining about this movie looking like Guardians of the
00:37:28
Galaxy and you didn't read Women of Tomorrow and you don't
00:37:31
realize how much Women of Tomorrow is basically fucking
00:37:34
DC's Guardians of the Galaxy, yeah, then then you don't
00:37:39
understand shit. I'm sorry.
00:37:41
I'm just throwing that out there.
00:37:43
And this is going to be our take and this is going to be the
00:37:44
TikTok and I'm going to get yelled at by all the the weird
00:37:48
Intel nerds on on TikTok, but it's fine.
00:37:50
This trailer was perfect. It's everything I wanted Woman
00:37:54
of Tomorrow to be. And, and I, I was just kind of
00:37:57
when they said that they were doing Woman of Tomorrow, I was
00:37:59
like, God, this can go both ways.
00:38:01
This could be really bad or this could be the most amazing thing
00:38:03
ever. And so far, that trailer makes
00:38:05
me feel like this is the most amazing thing ever.
00:38:08
One of my favorite lines out of all of it, right is and echoes
00:38:12
across everything, right? Superman sees people for who
00:38:16
they are. I see things the way they really
00:38:18
are. I love that line so much.
00:38:21
The lines, actually, Superman sees the best in people.
00:38:26
That's what it was. I see the truth.
00:38:29
Right, that's what it is, but it's such an impactful line the
00:38:32
way she says it. I I am so on board for this.
00:38:36
I cannot wait for a story trailer.
00:38:38
Also, Jason Momoa for two seconds.
00:38:41
Is Lobo smoking the cigar? He's got the eye, The, the, the,
00:38:45
the, the rings around the eye. He looks like Lobo.
00:38:49
Everybody who's complaining, shut your mouths.
00:38:53
Why would they be complaining he was on screen for like 2
00:38:55
seconds. No, they're complaining because
00:38:57
he was Aquaman before and now they're like, Oh well, now he's
00:38:59
Lobo. Some dude who obviously doesn't
00:39:02
know shit about comics was like, oh, now Jason Momoa.
00:39:04
Jason Momoa went from being a a a superhero to being someone
00:39:08
nobody knows. If you know DC, you know who
00:39:10
Lobo is. Almost everybody who knows DC,
00:39:15
anybody who loves DC Comics, top ten favorites, Almost everybody
00:39:19
on your list, everybody who has a top ten list of comic book
00:39:23
characters, comic book characters.
00:39:25
Lobo is on everybody's top 10 somewhere, whether it's low on
00:39:28
that 10. That he might not be.
00:39:30
He might not be in my top ten. He's in most.
00:39:32
People's top 10s He's in most. He was like DC's answer for
00:39:36
Wolverine. He's worse than Wolverine dude
00:39:39
like Lobo. What I love about Lobo is he was
00:39:43
the first person to cuss non cuss in in in in the thing
00:39:48
because they gave him his own cuss word.
00:39:50
Yes, yeah. So he says frag, right.
00:39:52
And it's just like fragging frag, frag, you know, And he
00:39:55
cusses so much. And, and I considering James
00:40:00
Gunn and the way he he runs things, I wonder if he's going
00:40:03
to go purist and let him just say frag or if he's just going
00:40:06
to cuss up a storm. I would, I would, I'd like to
00:40:08
see him say Frag. I would like that to be like the
00:40:11
bad word out in the Galaxy and like, fuck's not that big of a
00:40:16
deal, yeah. Yeah, I want him.
00:40:18
I want I want to hear him say fuck, but at the same time I
00:40:21
want to hear him use frag like it's somebody freaks out when he
00:40:24
says frag like you fragging looking at me.
00:40:27
Yeah, I want to see. I want to see like Ferret say
00:40:30
it. They fuck and like she's like,
00:40:33
oh, and he goes, what? What are you fragging talking
00:40:36
about? And then like everybody else
00:40:38
goes like you said something. Yeah, that.
00:40:41
Would be good. Thing I it won't be in there but
00:40:43
it would be amazing so yeah so can I talk about it now or are
00:40:48
we going to. Unchange No, please, please talk
00:40:50
about it. I definitely of all people, I
00:40:52
love James's take, but of all people I want your take because
00:40:56
you are probably our subject expert when it comes to this
00:40:58
character. All right, so at first the
00:41:02
opening I was like, OK, no, this is definite.
00:41:05
This is has such James Gunn James Gunn feels because it's
00:41:09
the it's Crypto and he knocks something over very Groot like,
00:41:14
very rocket like, and then the whole peeing on the paper and
00:41:18
then she wakes up and you can tell she's hungover and she's
00:41:21
like, Oh yeah, almost got all of it on the paper way to go.
00:41:25
And I was like, Oh my gosh, she's a millennial teen.
00:41:28
She's a teen. She is a teenager.
00:41:32
And I loved that because in the comics, the the reason that her
00:41:38
series doesn't do as well as other Superman series, because
00:41:42
they don't know what to do with her.
00:41:44
Nobody has teenage girls, I guess in their lives or what?
00:41:49
And you know what, if you're not married, don't have teenage
00:41:51
girls in your lives. But I she was very in the whole
00:41:57
thing, the through line. I just kept thinking she's a
00:42:00
teen. She is a young adult teen.
00:42:03
She doesn't know what she's doing.
00:42:05
She's trying to make it work. She's going out and she's going
00:42:09
to these places so she can drink away her pain.
00:42:13
And I completely understood it. I was like, I would absolutely
00:42:17
do that. If I could go to another star
00:42:20
system and just drink my pain away, That would be fantastic.
00:42:23
And that she brought crypto with her and she's talking to him.
00:42:26
I'm like, no, I totally understand that.
00:42:29
I feel like this movie might have been made for me personally
00:42:32
made for me. Thank you all for, you know,
00:42:35
watching it in the future, but no, this is for me.
00:42:38
This movie is for me. So what would you rate the
00:42:41
trailer? Then the movie it would be for
00:42:43
me that one out as well. Any of the female movies are me.
00:42:47
I'm just going to say that right now.
00:42:48
Right now. So what would you rate the
00:42:50
trailer? I already said a 10 would give
00:42:53
it a 10. What?
00:42:54
Oh I would give it 10. Tara blowing blowing out the the
00:42:59
drinks out of 10. Crypto peeing on the paper.
00:43:04
There you go. I love it.
00:43:06
Because I thought it was great. That was really great.
00:43:08
And I just, and the, all the Easter eggs, the when Raya, no
00:43:15
Raya, Ravi Rava, I can't remember what her name is in
00:43:18
that. I'm sure we'll, they'll tell us.
00:43:20
But she asking, well, what's Superman like that?
00:43:24
And then also when she was like, oh gosh, I'm so sorry.
00:43:28
You're from Krypton and your, your, your world was destroyed
00:43:32
in a day. And she said Krypton wasn't
00:43:34
destroyed in a day. The gods are not that kind.
00:43:38
And I was like, she's there's a lot of pain and and she's got a
00:43:42
lot of stuff to get through, really.
00:43:45
And I liked it because I was like, we need this damaged Kara.
00:43:49
Because then when she finally gets over it and she realizes
00:43:54
that she's a hero too, it's going to be such a payoff.
00:43:57
So yeah, I love that. And the Lobo, as soon as I was
00:44:00
like, Oh my God, Lobo, as soon as that.
00:44:02
And then I was like, like that. That was how I did it.
00:44:05
I watched the premiere by the way, sat there for 30 minutes on
00:44:09
that screen of just her so I can watch it when it came out.
00:44:14
So good. That's fun.
00:44:15
That's fun. Yeah.
00:44:16
I'm excited for it too. I I really love the trailer.
00:44:20
I kind of agree with everything you guys said.
00:44:22
It felt very Guardians of the Galaxy DNA like that lived in
00:44:27
universe, like they're living in space, living in the future, but
00:44:30
it's very worn down, you know, and I and I just like that
00:44:34
aesthetic. I think it's pretty cool.
00:44:35
It's like cyberpunk in space or something, but I like it.
00:44:40
I like Kara again, James Gunn handling broken characters is
00:44:45
great. I think this is going to be a
00:44:46
good breakout for Millie Alcock because in Game of Thrones or
00:44:52
House of Dragons should say very quiet, very stoic, but she could
00:44:56
act. But now playing this character
00:44:58
with a ton of range, I'm excited for her version.
00:45:02
I also. Like that Tom King is involved,
00:45:07
like he's not just a consultant, like he helped write it.
00:45:10
And I feel like that is where you really start to get those
00:45:15
little nuances and knowing each like he knows Kara.
00:45:20
So having him help write it I think was a stroke of genius
00:45:26
that they, you know, they could say, hey, can we have this in
00:45:29
here? Or is, was that just like you
00:45:32
wanted to have comment in the in the store, like, you know what
00:45:35
I'm saying? Like, is this the essence or can
00:45:38
we move a little away from it? And I feel like that is
00:45:40
something that a lot, a lot of companies don't do and I think
00:45:46
they should. So Percy Jackson, they do that.
00:45:49
Rick Riordan helps write scripts and stuff for the Percy Jackson
00:45:53
and the Olympians. So and I love that show.
00:45:55
So. Yeah, it's really good.
00:45:57
Yeah. 2 new episodes out so far I think third one this week.
00:46:02
Oh wait, is the new season of Percy Jackson already on?
00:46:06
Like this last week? Damn it, new episode.
00:46:08
So I've got I've got to watch. I've got to watch that.
00:46:11
And then tomorrow, Fallout drops early.
00:46:15
I think Fallout comes out tonight.
00:46:17
Oh well, I'm watching that. So OK, we got we got to continue
00:46:20
because more things to talk about from the gaming awards.
00:46:22
I'm really excited about the next two things we're going to
00:46:24
talk about. Go for it.
00:46:26
So let's let's talk about this. The Old Republic returns in a
00:46:31
Galaxy spanning teaser. Archonaut studios unveiled the
00:46:34
teaser for Star Wars Fate of the Old Republic APC and console
00:46:38
title in early development. While not a direct sequel, the
00:46:41
game shares DNA with Knights of the Old Republic and the Old
00:46:44
Republic MMO, which was on PCs promising a fresh but familiar
00:46:49
dive into Jedi versus Sith conflict.
00:46:51
So a mass figure resembling Darth Revan flash briefing on
00:46:55
the screen, which was pretty dope when you when you see him
00:46:58
kind of show on. It's got a lot of people talking
00:47:01
about the role that he may be playing in this, especially if
00:47:03
it's not something that ties to the original games.
00:47:06
The Jedi temple architecture mirrors, classic couture concept
00:47:10
art and it Oh my God, the trailer is absolutely gorgeous.
00:47:14
I'm hoping that this is. Actually, what the game?
00:47:17
Yeah, I'm hoping this is actually what the game is going
00:47:19
to look like and it's not just old school couture doing like,
00:47:24
oh, here is the most amazing trailer in the game doesn't live
00:47:26
up to it kind of thing. Now the Sith armadas feature
00:47:29
designs reminiscent of cinematic trailers from the Old Republic.
00:47:33
So we're seeing a lot of that old Republic stuff.
00:47:36
As of right now there is no release date and and they don't
00:47:39
have anything but people are speculating it's going to be
00:47:41
closer to 20-30 just far time away but they're getting the
00:47:45
hype built right now. So guys, did this teaser
00:47:48
convince you that the either of you that Arkanot can carry the
00:47:52
Old Republic legacy forward or does it feel like a recycled
00:47:55
nostalgia game? It did have a feeling of
00:47:58
previous games, I didn't know which one it was, but it did
00:48:02
feel like that. But I think that's a good thing.
00:48:05
I think it felt like it was in the same universe as some of
00:48:08
those really good Star Wars games.
00:48:10
So this is, I think it's going to be fun for me because I don't
00:48:14
know a ton about it. So I think it'll be fun just to
00:48:17
hear all the lore that comes out of it.
00:48:19
Yeah, and there's also, they're still working on the remakes of
00:48:23
Couture and Couture 2, which expand heavily on Sith history,
00:48:29
on Darth Bane, on Mandalorian lore and Mandalorian history,
00:48:33
which they've actually implemented within the shows and
00:48:36
everything like that. So I mean, yeah, there's there's
00:48:39
a lot of fun stuff. If you if you didn't get a
00:48:41
chance to play it when the games came out, now is going to be the
00:48:44
time to to to get on this. Frey, what are your thoughts?
00:48:47
Did you ever play Kotor? Did I play Kotor?
00:48:50
Oh, then what are your thoughts on this?
00:48:51
Dare you, How dare you. I played them both.
00:48:55
I played Kotor and Kotor too. Thank you.
00:48:57
The the sick one. All right.
00:48:59
I loved them both. I cannot wait to play this game.
00:49:05
I am a huge Kodor Star Wars game fan, so this is right up my
00:49:11
alley. The only thing is like the the
00:49:14
faces and stuff, they're so good.
00:49:17
Like I'm getting uncanny valley a little by them.
00:49:20
Yeah. Like the graphics are amazing
00:49:23
and I just I think it's going to be cool and I cannot wait until
00:49:28
it comes out. I hope it got sound sooner than
00:49:30
the 2030. Yeah, no, it's it's kind of
00:49:33
ridiculous. Just one when she ignites that
00:49:37
lightsaber, just the way that that blue shines across her
00:49:41
face. One of the issues that they've
00:49:43
always had was making water look good on skin.
00:49:48
And it seems like this is what makes me feel like this studio
00:49:52
is probably going to be, you know, who's gonna carry it
00:49:56
forward because they managed to make the water look good on
00:50:00
skin. I mean, you just, I'm gonna put
00:50:01
it back on the screen. Like if you look at that, just
00:50:03
look at how well that looks, you know?
00:50:06
I feel like I'm getting, like I'm also moist.
00:50:10
Because she is. Yeah.
00:50:12
That's how good it is. Philippe is moist for different.
00:50:15
Reasons I'm very moist for different reasons.
00:50:17
I'm my, my whole thing is, you know, are these going to be new
00:50:22
characters if they are going to be redoing the lore altogether,
00:50:26
or is this Basta la Sean? Are we getting a new version of
00:50:29
Basta la Sean out of this? Especially when what?
00:50:32
If it's their daughter. It could be that too.
00:50:35
Now what they're saying is it's not connected to the Old
00:50:38
Republic games as it is. And I think part of that is
00:50:41
because the the the rumor is what they're doing right now is
00:50:46
bait of the Old Republic is going to be retelling the lore
00:50:49
so that it becomes Canon. So this is their way of taking
00:50:54
things that were in the first three sets of games, being Cult
00:50:58
or Quarto True and Old Republic, and taking elements of those,
00:51:04
recycling elements of those, and making things officially Canon.
00:51:08
Those games weren't produced by Disney, right?
00:51:10
No. Those were all yeah.
00:51:13
That's cool. All right.
00:51:14
But the Feige has no. Sorry, not Feige Filoni.
00:51:20
I always get their names backed up, mixed up.
00:51:22
Filoni has has he's expressed multiple times that he wants to
00:51:27
find ways to get the Old Republic lore and make it a part
00:51:30
of Star Wars and just not all at once.
00:51:34
So he's been kind of like, you know, drip feeding different
00:51:37
parts of Old Republic lore. Like Darth Bane is now
00:51:40
officially a part of Star Wars lore being that he communed with
00:51:45
Yoda at the end of season 7 of Clone Wars.
00:51:48
So things. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:51:50
Yeah. So like, you know, they've,
00:51:52
they've done things like that. They've done a couple of
00:51:55
different things. Again, I believe in Andor, they
00:52:00
confirmed the existence of the the Forerunners, who were the
00:52:04
people who essentially originally populated the Galaxy,
00:52:09
you know, and they were the first like interstellar
00:52:12
travelers and things like. Toyota.
00:52:14
Yep, Toyota. They last a long time.
00:52:17
But but like so. So they have taken different
00:52:20
parts of the lore and and added it in.
00:52:23
Vibro blades were also something that came from from couture, you
00:52:27
know, and now, you know, we've seen Mandalorians that walk
00:52:29
around that train with Vibro blades.
00:52:31
So I mean, like, it's things like that that you're doing.
00:52:34
I love the idea of them taking the parts that they want to make
00:52:39
Canon and then retelling that story.
00:52:42
And then, and I mean, obviously we're going to be seeing
00:52:44
something that right there say Wong's putting it in the chat,
00:52:50
the not a said do who are right, who are like the the original
00:52:53
race And then the the great Hyperspace Wars, which was the
00:52:56
first Sith Empire, right? This was back before the Sith
00:53:01
were a ideology. It was back when they were still
00:53:03
a people. Didn't they also talk about the
00:53:07
Ricotten? Yes, the Ricotten.
00:53:10
The the Ricotten have been brought up on this too.
00:53:13
And, and just again, there are so many different things that
00:53:18
they've brought up that, you know, I, I, I would like to see
00:53:22
if that's what they're doing with this, right?
00:53:24
It's hey, we're going to take parts of this and, and establish
00:53:27
certain things. Again, Darth Revan being one of
00:53:30
the most beloved characters that people have.
00:53:33
Again, if they canonize Darth Nihilus, which is a character
00:53:37
that people are absolutely afraid of, Darth Scion, another
00:53:40
character, Darth Trey, Trey that another character that people,
00:53:44
you know, those were the three Sith Lords that that essentially
00:53:47
just destroyed the universe before the Republic had to fix
00:53:50
everything. So again, I'm I'm very excited
00:53:53
for what implications this could have and whether Filoni is using
00:53:57
this as a vehicle to establish Old Republic lore within Canon
00:54:02
in Star Wars. Yeah, it it does tell me that
00:54:05
DC, Disney wants to care, keep this going.
00:54:10
They want to carry it forward. So I'm OK with them kind of
00:54:13
cherry picking from previous games and previous storylines to
00:54:17
make it part of the Star Wars universe.
00:54:20
And I, I do kind of appreciate that Star Wars has like 1
00:54:24
continuity now. Yeah.
00:54:25
And moving forward, they're finding ways to bring in the
00:54:29
stuff that worked and, and bring it into this, into the Canon.
00:54:32
So yeah, cool, I'm in. All right, so let's let's go
00:54:36
ahead and move on because I, I definitely spent too much time
00:54:40
on this and I'm probably going to spend too much time on the
00:54:41
next one too, because again, something I'm very excited for
00:54:46
Capcom's fighters stepping into the cinematic arena.
00:54:49
Arena. Arena.
00:54:50
Arena. And is this the finish him one
00:54:53
or is that the other one? No, that's Mortal Kombat.
00:54:55
OK, Yeah, this one is. You win, you lose, the teaser
00:55:02
for the Street Fighter movie showcased.
00:55:04
Right Ryu, I was going to say Ryu Ryu, Chunli and Guile and a
00:55:09
globetrotting martial arts showdown.
00:55:11
So guys, Ryu was a kind of hadoken pose was teased in the
00:55:14
silhouette. Chunli's stage backdrop for the
00:55:17
arcade classic recreated in the live action shot.
00:55:20
Liu Insignia within Bison's presence.
00:55:22
The movie itself is scheduled for October 16th, 2026.
00:55:27
For you guys because I have a lot to say.
00:55:29
But for you guys, did this teaser convince you Street
00:55:32
Fighter can finally break the video game movie curse?
00:55:34
Or are you guys still skeptical? Fred, you have any thoughts on
00:55:37
this? I do actually have some
00:55:40
interesting thoughts, well I mean like I saw the 1st Street
00:55:43
Fighter movies, first one with Raul.
00:55:47
Raul, Julia. Raul Julia.
00:55:49
I cannot believe I forgot his name.
00:55:50
Anyway, I I loved it. I loved the first one.
00:55:53
So I like all. I'm bored for this.
00:55:55
I'm like, yeah, it's going to be a fun movie and seeing.
00:55:59
Didn't we get to see like $0.50 one he in it too?
00:56:02
Playing ball rock in there, yeah.
00:56:03
He's playing ball rock and he looks like ball rock.
00:56:06
Yes, and freaking the wrestler guy, which one looks like he
00:56:11
came out of the freaking game with his hair up like.
00:56:15
That Oh, she's talking about Cody Rhodes.
00:56:17
Yeah, Guile. Guile I was like, what the hell?
00:56:21
Oh, so I'm like, I'm super excited about this.
00:56:24
It looks so much more colorful than the original 1, and I love
00:56:28
that because I'm so happy that they're like going back to the
00:56:31
game version of them. Yeah, I think that's really
00:56:35
cool. So yeah, I like it.
00:56:36
I'll watch it. Yeah, I'm gonna watch it too.
00:56:39
You know what I like? This holiday.
00:56:40
It didn't feel like it was taking itself too seriously,
00:56:44
right? Like it was having fun.
00:56:45
The, you know, the colors were super punchy.
00:56:47
Everything was like larger than life.
00:56:50
Honestly, when I first saw it and I saw it on Instagram, I
00:56:53
didn't think it was, I didn't get like, you know, trailer this
00:56:56
intro. It was just straight into the
00:56:58
trailer. I thought it was fake at first.
00:56:59
I'm like somebody came out with some really good, good AI or
00:57:03
something like that. And then I started watching
00:57:05
like, wait, this is this is real.
00:57:07
This is the real trailer. And it, it's, it was so fun.
00:57:11
It, it's such a fun take on, on the Street Fighter and like a
00:57:15
beloved franchise. I think they're gonna, I think
00:57:18
this is gonna be a franchise where they're gonna start
00:57:20
spinning out a bunch of them. Yeah.
00:57:22
Are are we ready? Are we ready for this?
00:57:24
Yes, all right. Did I time you?
00:57:26
Should I tell you at like 3 minutes?
00:57:28
OK, wrap it up. You might need to.
00:57:30
So did you guys get a chance to watch me play Street Fighter Six
00:57:34
on the stream? No.
00:57:35
I think so. Back in the day, Yeah, do.
00:57:37
You love how I went, No. OK, so the reason I'm bringing
00:57:41
that up, the reason I'm bringing that up this trailer is so much
00:57:45
Street Fighter six vibes. And and when I say that it's the
00:57:48
neon colors, it is the the the way that everything kind of
00:57:52
flows and moves. It is the hip hop music backdrop
00:57:55
because Street Fighter Six, so much of its personality was, was
00:58:00
hip hop. It really was, it was kind of
00:58:01
crazy. And not only just that it's,
00:58:05
it's, it seems like there's a focus on the martial arts.
00:58:07
There's a focus on all the fighting.
00:58:09
A lot of the fight scenes look like old school, like Chinese
00:58:14
martial arts movies, like the weird, the weird cuts and the,
00:58:18
and the zoom in, the zooms in and things like that.
00:58:21
Yeah. There's a scene where Chun Li
00:58:25
chokes Cami out with her foot, right?
00:58:27
Yeah. And it, it zooms in on, on, on,
00:58:30
on them and then zooms back out and she's just holding her up
00:58:33
and she's choking. There's there's a scene where
00:58:35
they do the same thing with Roman Reigns as Akuma there.
00:58:39
There's you. You have so much of it where it
00:58:42
is not taking itself very seriously.
00:58:44
It is very just like outlandish crazy martial arts like
00:58:49
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon kind of kind of fight scenes.
00:58:53
The immediate moment that you see Guy will do the superkick to
00:58:57
Vega through the wall. That is so much something you
00:59:00
see from the games. You know, Dan Hibiki being like
00:59:05
the most nerdy character and then getting a superpower driver
00:59:10
by Zen Geef, like I mean that whole thing right there.
00:59:13
Now, one of the things that I was upset about in the way that
00:59:18
they announced this the the this movie was they gave us a bunch
00:59:22
of announcements for characters that are going to be in the
00:59:24
movie. But there were a couple of names
00:59:26
that were just like like a couple of my favorite characters
00:59:29
that were not included on that. One of them, the big one against
00:59:32
me was was Sagat. Sagat's one of my favorite
00:59:36
characters in all the Street Fighter, right?
00:59:37
And Sagat was not announced in, I know I'm coming up on time.
00:59:40
Sagat was not announced in this movie.
00:59:44
But what gives me a little more faith, something that happened
00:59:47
in this trailer that I think a lot of people didn't realize
00:59:50
because it was flashing through things so quickly, right?
00:59:54
There were two characters that showed up in that trailer that
00:59:57
were not announced with the rest of the cast, right?
01:00:00
There is a scene towards the end of the trailer where it is
01:00:03
clearly for Street Fighter fans out there, a Don fighting a
01:00:07
Fuerte, right? A Don is throwing a.
01:00:13
A head kick and he basically knocks El Fuerta down to the
01:00:17
ground. And these are two characters
01:00:19
that they did not announce were in this movie, which tells me
01:00:22
that, OK, we're getting more Street Fighter lore characters,
01:00:26
which means there's a chance Sagat's going to show up in
01:00:29
this. And it could be that Sagat is
01:00:31
playing so big of a role that they didn't announce who he is.
01:00:35
Could be or setting him up for Street Fighter 2.
01:00:37
Could be that too. It could be like Sagat is 1
01:00:40
character, Golkin is another character because Golkin is a
01:00:44
character that has so much lore tie to Akuma and it's like, OK,
01:00:48
we have Akuma in this, but why not Gokin, right?
01:00:51
Gokin is basically his brother and he's also Gokin's the guy
01:00:54
who trains Canon Ryu. So it would make sense to have
01:00:57
him in this. He's also and then Ryu trains
01:01:00
Dan Hibiki. But I mean, like, I also want to
01:01:03
see Sakura, right? If you're going to have Dan
01:01:04
Hibiki in this, we need to see Sakura.
01:01:05
She's she's so much better of a character than than Dan.
01:01:08
But Dan it's funny. So I mean of course you show
01:01:10
Dan, but you also have a a well known comedian playing Dan
01:01:16
Hibiki. Why would you not show him off
01:01:18
in the trailer? So overall you were excited for
01:01:21
this I'm. Very excited for this.
01:01:23
This this passes a Street Fighter fan test.
01:01:27
Absolutely man, I say I this trailer for the trailer, the
01:01:31
trailer I'm giving. Also, A10 dragon punches out of
01:01:38
10 psycho powers. OK.
01:01:41
Those are Street Fighter references.
01:01:44
Yeah, those are Street Fighter references.
01:01:45
If you don't get them, look the shit up.
01:01:48
Also, they didn't. Also, they didn't show Blanca in
01:01:51
the trailer, and I know that he's in the movie, so there's
01:01:53
that too, yeah. Yeah, tell you what.
01:01:55
Though you can't show Mamoa in everything so.
01:01:58
Come on, Literally in three trailers right now that are like
01:02:01
that matter. So it's like.
01:02:04
You know, you didn't mention it really, but Davis Mulchin looked
01:02:07
pretty good as Bison. Oh my God, I think I said that
01:02:09
off my Davis Mulchin looks amazing as as as.
01:02:12
Yeah, I was like, oh, look at him, all right.
01:02:14
Which also again, I, Sagat and DJ are two characters that are
01:02:18
so intrinsically tied into Shadowlou and him, they need to
01:02:23
be there. Well, I hit the Cape thing, the
01:02:25
Cape Furl. I love that.
01:02:26
And I was like, oh, that's so in bison.
01:02:28
Yeah. Philippe Philippe was about to
01:02:30
shadowlou his pants over this trailer.
01:02:32
I'm. I'm a big Street Fighter fan.
01:02:34
I mean, like anybody who follows the show knows that I am you.
01:02:38
Are big. Street Fighter fan?
01:02:39
No idea. There's not very many games that
01:02:42
I've played on stream, and Street Fighter 6 was one of
01:02:44
them. So I mean, like, you know, it,
01:02:46
that should say a lot about how much Street Fighter, what Street
01:02:49
Fighter means to me as as a franchise.
01:02:50
Cool. All right, something to look
01:02:52
forward to. Also, E Honda, Jen, I don't know
01:02:55
if you saw that, but I believe he's an actual sumo wrestler.
01:02:59
The guy who who played plays E Honda.
01:03:01
What? I'm going to have to look again.
01:03:03
Oh my God, that'll be amazing. I bet I don't know who he is
01:03:06
because he probably retired already.
01:03:08
Yeah, but super go All right, so yeah, we do need to move on.
01:03:11
I I'm very excited. You guys know how excited I am.
01:03:14
Again, based on the trailer, what do you guys rate the
01:03:16
trailer at? I already said I gave it an 8.
01:03:19
Why do you guys you guys don't listen?
01:03:21
Yeah, it's got to be. It's got to be memorable.
01:03:24
I need I give it 9 Hadouken's out of 10 long Dal SIM arms or
01:03:31
something. I don't know.
01:03:33
I was hoping one of you guys was going to say something about
01:03:35
broken cars out of 10 broken cars.
01:03:39
I'm I'm giving it 8. I don't even know if that's a
01:03:44
thing out of 10. We're getting a sumo wrestler in
01:03:48
this motherfucker. OK, go ahead.
01:03:55
I'm just pulling it up for you before we move over his name.
01:04:00
Never mind they pulled up the someone actor who played him in
01:04:02
the first movie. His name is Robert Paulson.
01:04:07
His name? Is John Cena?
01:04:09
Oh Cena? His name is John Cena first.
01:04:12
Oops, sorry, wrong John Cena. Now I just do it.
01:04:18
I don't. I'm not even a fan of him as a
01:04:20
wrestler, and I do it. I can't find it here, but I'm
01:04:26
not going to even worry about it.
01:04:27
So guys, let's go ahead and move on, you know?
01:04:29
Yeah, Yeah. Now I'm saying we're moving on.
01:04:31
So now it's time to get into the headlines.
01:04:34
Did we have something written this?
01:04:35
We did not. All right, but we're going to
01:04:37
jump into the headlines. All the big things going on
01:04:40
around the world, we're going to do this rapid fire here, guys,
01:04:43
because we've got a lot to cover before we get to trend to the
01:04:45
trend up. So let's let's jump into this.
01:04:48
Darren Aronofsky weighs in on streaming's shifting landscape
01:04:52
Speaking at the Red Sea Film Festival, Darren Aronofsky
01:04:55
admitted the Netflix Warner Brothers deal has left him
01:04:58
unsettled. He warned that consolidation
01:05:02
shrinks creative opportunities. But at the same time, Aronofsky
01:05:05
acknowledged AI is reshaping filmmaking, noting his own
01:05:09
experiments with new technology from streaming to AI, Aronofsky
01:05:14
sees both limits and possibilities.
01:05:17
Interesting, Interesting. He's basically saying what a lot
01:05:21
of creatives in Hollywood are saying.
01:05:24
I sent that Pablo Torre finds out to you guys.
01:05:27
You guys get to watch that. I think, James, you said that
01:05:29
you you you thought that it was a good conversation.
01:05:32
It was Michael sure who did Parks and Rec, The Good Place,
01:05:37
and now he like executive produces like hacks or
01:05:39
something. And he was talking about how he
01:05:42
didn't think either deal was good for for Hollywood because
01:05:46
it's less. A less opportunity, less
01:05:48
competition. Less competition, less
01:05:50
opportunities. Yeah, I mean, and I, you know, I
01:05:53
feel like we we said that too, like if we had our way, we
01:05:56
wouldn't want this deal to go through at all, period.
01:06:00
But of those two, Netflix is our choice over her Paramount.
01:06:06
So yeah. Right, well, let's, let's
01:06:09
continue on, unless you guys have other thoughts here.
01:06:11
Nope. All right, let's do this.
01:06:13
Terry Gilliam is pushing for one last ride.
01:06:17
Terry Gilliam urged Paramount's green light, the defect
01:06:21
defective detective calling it his final film and saying he
01:06:24
wants to direct it before he dies.
01:06:27
Terry Gilliam's swan song may finally get its curtain call.
01:06:30
What are you guys? Are you guys fans of Terry
01:06:32
Gilliam at all? I don't know what else.
01:06:34
Oh. That's cool.
01:06:37
So they're are they green lighting the.
01:06:39
Monty Python stuff. Yeah, Terry Gilliam is from the
01:06:41
Monty Python. So did they green light it?
01:06:43
He's yeah, he's. Trying to get them to green
01:06:46
light it right now he's saying that they're not.
01:06:48
They haven't greenlit it yet. Oh, I see it here.
01:06:50
So the long lost fantasy noir has been sitting in Paramount's
01:06:54
vault since 1990. Paramount's busy trying to buy
01:06:59
Warner. It's Terry Gillum's over here.
01:07:02
Hey everybody, I just want to make my movie.
01:07:04
Throw some money at stuff. Throw some over here.
01:07:07
Exactly. Take take a fraction of that so
01:07:10
I can make my movie. Cool.
01:07:11
He was the American Python. He was the American Monty
01:07:14
Python. He's American.
01:07:16
Is Harry Gilliam. American.
01:07:17
Yeah, I. Always thought he was British.
01:07:19
He was. No, he's he's American.
01:07:21
Yeah, cool, because I know he's. The only one.
01:07:22
I know he's Co creator of of Monty Python that's why I was
01:07:26
just like oh. Yeah, yeah.
01:07:27
He, yeah. No, he's American.
01:07:29
Yeah. Did not know that, I always
01:07:30
thought he was. British, yeah, well, he doesn't.
01:07:32
He's never on the show like he's behind the scenes.
01:07:35
He did all the graphics and did all that stuff.
01:07:37
So he, he was there like behind the scenes guy, he.
01:07:40
Did a lot of the animation stuff.
01:07:42
He made Brazil and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
01:07:46
Wow, yes. All right, let him make that
01:07:48
movie. Give him the movie.
01:07:50
Let him make the movie he wants to make.
01:07:54
Yeah, I love him. I think it.
01:07:56
I think it's. I want to see it.
01:07:57
I just love that. He's like, I want to do this
01:07:59
before I die. Y'all let me make my movie
01:08:02
Exactly. That was like, I'm like, you
01:08:05
know, he's not getting any younger.
01:08:06
Let's let him do it. Not wrong, not not wrong at all.
01:08:09
He's he's definitely not getting any any younger.
01:08:12
Let's go ahead and move on. Disney is in its villain era.
01:08:15
Disney is developing a live action Gaston movie with Across
01:08:19
the Spider verse writer Dave Callum attached.
01:08:22
Plot details are scarce, but sources say the movie will tell
01:08:26
a new and original story with a new actor stepping into the
01:08:29
role. Beauty may be timeless, but
01:08:31
Gaston is getting his own beastly tale, especially with
01:08:35
that massively hairy chest. Yeah, I cool move on.
01:08:42
Is, is Disney going to try to make us love Gaston like we
01:08:48
liked Maleficent in the Maleficent movies?
01:08:51
Like, you know, telling, giving, giving the the villain some kind
01:08:54
of humanistic character. Gaston is such a jerk.
01:08:58
Like, like he's such an asshole. And it's like, OK, the live
01:09:01
action movie gave him a little bit of a little bit of of like
01:09:06
relatability, but he was still a Dick head.
01:09:08
Yeah, You know what I mean? I.
01:09:09
Want it that he discovers he's he's gay.
01:09:13
I mean, they did, they didn't make, I was gonna say lemur, but
01:09:16
it's not the other guy that's that's with him.
01:09:21
Ah, no, no, the guy that's with Guy.
01:09:23
Oh, what's his name? I know, I know you're talking
01:09:25
about but. Oh, I know you're talking about.
01:09:27
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
01:09:28
But they they Lafleur, Lafleur, Lafleur.
01:09:32
Lafleur, lefleur Lafleur. They did make Lefou gay.
01:09:35
Lefou is is officially gay now. Oh good.
01:09:39
Yeah, a diversity. Yeah, but the the best thing
01:09:43
about Gaston is the only good thing about Gaston is his song
01:09:47
from the first animated movie wasn't as good in the live
01:09:49
action. It wasn't as good in the live
01:09:51
action. The one the one in the animated
01:09:53
one was better. Maybe he'll kill the horse.
01:09:55
That horse man did nothing good. Shut up.
01:09:57
Ran away. What was that horse's name?
01:10:00
Philippe. Oh, that's right.
01:10:03
OK, OK, let's. Keep it, let's let's continue on
01:10:07
since James wants to have me assassinated and maybe these
01:10:11
these assassins can come for me, right?
01:10:13
Heartbreak looks good in a book like this.
01:10:16
The K Pop Demon Hunters art book confirms a long circulated fan
01:10:20
theory. Rumi's mother was a warrior who
01:10:22
died when Rumi was just a baby. Her mother's bandmate, Celine of
01:10:27
the Sunlight Sisters, became Rumi's caregiver and mentor,
01:10:30
hiding her and Huntrix in their mission to protect the horn
01:10:34
Moon. Behind the Neon battles, family
01:10:37
heartbreak takes center stage. That is tragic.
01:10:40
And, and if they're going to be doing anything with any of the
01:10:44
animated films and, and you know, they're going to be doing
01:10:46
new movies, they need to address that.
01:10:49
I actually do want to see that story of of her her mom
01:10:52
sacrifice, even if it's just for like the the 10 seconds at the
01:10:55
beginning of the movie. Yeah.
01:10:56
Look, I mean, yeah, I'd like to. That would be cool to see a
01:10:59
flashback. I mean, I haven't seen the first
01:11:01
one, but I think that would be good.
01:11:02
You always want depth, Yeah? I like it.
01:11:06
I like it. I'm not going to go out and buy
01:11:07
the hard book, but I think it's cool.
01:11:09
No, you're going to buy 3 of. Them that's true expand on the
01:11:14
universe is what I was going to say, but it might expand into my
01:11:18
wallet so it's. Definitely going to expand into
01:11:20
your wallet. I love them.
01:11:22
He needs one for each kid. Space Godzilla is stomping back
01:11:27
into the big screen. Legendary confirmed Godzilla
01:11:30
versus Kong Supernova will bring Space Godzilla into the monster
01:11:35
verse. The monster verse is blasting
01:11:37
off into cosmic territory. Where are my where are my Kaiju
01:11:41
fans at? Are you guys?
01:11:43
Are you guys big Kaiju? Fans, I just I just love the
01:11:45
picture I was. Like this I was going.
01:11:47
To say the worst. Kind of like what the hell?
01:11:51
Space I'm. Not even the even the modeling.
01:11:54
I'm like, were they thinking? But I think it's going to be
01:11:58
fantastic. It's also the 1970s in Japan, so
01:12:00
I mean like. Hey, I'm not a big Kaiju fan.
01:12:04
I think it's fun and all, but I'm not super into it.
01:12:07
But I am in the shoulder pads and the way that this Kaiju can
01:12:12
rock some shoulder pads, he could be yeah, I'm tough
01:12:15
Filipina Tita at any any formal gathering with those shoulder
01:12:21
pads. OK, so they're so.
01:12:23
Pointy. I wonder.
01:12:25
I wonder how too close. I wonder how our sponsor,
01:12:28
Colossus Girl Entertainment, feels about this.
01:12:31
I'm sure he would love it. I'm sure he loves it.
01:12:33
I'm sure Dave loves it. Yeah, Dave is a big Kaiju guy.
01:12:36
So I mean, I'm sure I don't know He's, he's on the he'll probably
01:12:40
be on the fence knowing him. Does that, does that mean that
01:12:42
we're going to get Godzuki? Oh.
01:12:45
God, I've been saying for a while, please don't bring in
01:12:47
Godzuki. I I do not want Godzuki in this
01:12:50
at all. That just it it, it takes
01:12:53
they're doing such a serious take with with the way that
01:12:57
they're doing this new universe. And it's like, if you bring
01:13:01
Godzooky, it just it, it takes away all the seriousness that
01:13:04
they've tried to establish with this this universe.
01:13:07
Is that like baby Godzilla? Kind of.
01:13:10
It's worse. It's.
01:13:12
It's just it's, you know what they should do?
01:13:14
They should do an animated series and do it full full on
01:13:18
Chiba. Do you like full chibi?
01:13:21
Yeah, Chibi, chibi Kazuki. Oh my God.
01:13:25
So bad. Chibi.
01:13:28
Scrappy. Godzuki.
01:13:31
All right, let's move on to the next.
01:13:33
I was going to say Godzuki is like the Star Wars holiday
01:13:36
special of Kaiju. It kind of is.
01:13:38
It kind of is all right it. Really is.
01:13:40
I just think it's hilarious. I'm like, we're good, Godzuki.
01:13:43
Jesus getting into the next story here.
01:13:45
Pennywise may not be done haunting dairy.
01:13:48
Reports suggest it chapter 3 is being considered as Welcome to
01:13:52
Dairy season 1. Raps.
01:13:54
Dairy's nightmare may be far from over.
01:13:58
Did you guys catch Welcome to Dairy at all?
01:14:02
Of course not. Again, what the hell?
01:14:04
It looks scary, but I'm hearing it.
01:14:07
It's really good. It's like if you're a fan of the
01:14:10
franchise, it's I heard it's really good.
01:14:12
So I made a point of watching the season finale last night and
01:14:17
it not last night on Sunday, but it's it was really good.
01:14:20
Now I know Graveyard feels very opposite of this.
01:14:24
Graveyard is a purist and he really hates the show.
01:14:28
For me that. Usually means it's going to be
01:14:31
really popular. Yeah, for me, it it it.
01:14:34
I really enjoyed what they did. They expanded on the lore.
01:14:38
They expanded on the character. They kind of took something that
01:14:44
was a throwaway line in the book and made it a big plot point in
01:14:48
the season finale, which is going to go into future
01:14:52
implications. It's going to tie into the next
01:14:55
two seasons, which they've already announced.
01:14:57
What season is going to be about because they all take place 27
01:15:01
years apart from each other, and if they're going into a third
01:15:05
movie, based on what happened at the end of this film or at the
01:15:11
end of the series, it is possible that he could come back
01:15:14
again. If you're unfamiliar with what
01:15:16
happened in the movie that had that that came out in 2019,
01:15:20
spoiler alert, Pennywise dies at the end of the movie.
01:15:23
The spoiler alert what he. Done died.
01:15:26
He dies, but there is there's something that happens.
01:15:31
Obviously you can't kill him off in the series because this takes
01:15:33
place 27 years before the events of the movies.
01:15:37
But one of the things that they kind of they explain at the end
01:15:42
of the show, and I'm not going to explain too much of it.
01:15:44
I want you guys to go watch the show, but one of the things that
01:15:47
they kind of get into at the end of the show is something that
01:15:50
could cause that, that that could create a possibility for
01:15:52
him to come back, which is why it makes sense when they say
01:15:56
that, OK, they're developing a third movie.
01:15:58
And again, I'm hoping Andy Muschietti is involved in all
01:16:01
this because he's the one that did the first two movies.
01:16:03
He's the one that did the series.
01:16:05
I would hope that he's doing the third movie if they do a third
01:16:08
movie. And again, based on the way that
01:16:11
he did the story, it could make sense.
01:16:13
Stephen King was also heavily involved in the in the in the
01:16:17
series. Cool.
01:16:18
Well, no, you know, I don't have a problem.
01:16:21
Like, look, I know that Stephen King's got this whole universe
01:16:24
thing going on and I think it's great.
01:16:26
I am just not a horror fan and so I'm not going to not going to
01:16:31
watch this. Cusby asked me.
01:16:33
He was like, are we are you wanting to watch Welcome to
01:16:36
Dairy? And I was like, fuck no, why
01:16:38
would I want to watch that? It's a horror movie and it's
01:16:40
Stephen King. I'm not.
01:16:41
I just, I don't do that kind of stuff.
01:16:44
The Shining scarred me. It I mean, I feel like I have
01:16:47
physical scars. And this show not?
01:16:49
Physical, but they feel like it. Funny enough, this show ties
01:16:52
into The Shining too. See.
01:16:54
Look. Look what I'm talking about.
01:16:55
And you want me to watch it? Are you sick?
01:16:59
I think you're sick in the head. It also, it also ties into the
01:17:02
Green Mile and everything like that, like it's, it's there's
01:17:04
there's a lot of cool things that they do or not Green Mile.
01:17:07
Sorry, Shawshank Redemption, I was.
01:17:09
Like Green Mile? What?
01:17:11
Yeah, not the Green Mile, sorry. Shawshank Redemption.
01:17:13
It also ties into Shawshank Redemption.
01:17:16
They, they they did a really good job in tying the universe
01:17:19
together and everything like that.
01:17:21
So yeah, I, I, I'm not going to speak too much more on this, but
01:17:24
definitely something to check out for everybody out there that
01:17:28
is, that is interested in this now.
01:17:30
Is it an anchor baby? Is it an anchor baby?
01:17:33
There there. Is welcome to dairy their anchor
01:17:36
baby? Maybe there's there's a baby.
01:17:38
The universe. That you say that and there's
01:17:40
like a weird baby scene at the beginning of the series.
01:17:42
That's why I'm like, did you not watch the show?
01:17:45
I didn't. I just know weird shit I guess.
01:17:49
I'm like, is it a anchor baby? Oh.
01:17:51
God, so, so going from Pennywise and everything going going on
01:17:57
there to another set of kids that are fighting horror
01:18:00
elements upside down, You turn me round, round we go.
01:18:04
You spin me right? Yeah, you turn me side out and
01:18:11
round and round, right? Oh, OK, Upside down, turn me
01:18:16
round and round and OK. Oh yeah.
01:18:19
The Duffer Brothers teased that Stranger Things Season 5 Volume
01:18:24
2 will be far darker as new details emerge and the trailer
01:18:28
drops. Hawkins may not survive the
01:18:31
final descents. Did you guys check out the
01:18:35
trailer, Fray? I know you're super far behind
01:18:38
on this. All right, James, did you watch
01:18:41
the trailer for? This.
01:18:42
I haven't watched it yet, but I was winning for Jenny to watch
01:18:45
it with me because we're super into Stranger Things and I've
01:18:50
been telling everybody that's been willing to listen to me
01:18:53
about Stranger Things. And in the final season, like
01:18:57
this is the best, like final chapter of a story that I've
01:19:02
ever seen ever, you know, and how it's tying everything in
01:19:07
together from the very first episode till right now.
01:19:10
I'm so impressed with with how they're handling this.
01:19:14
So yeah, we're going to watch it later.
01:19:15
She's like, oh, no, I can't watch it right now.
01:19:17
I'm like, well they can, but. Yeah.
01:19:20
I think one of my theories is because I talked about my
01:19:25
theories last week or two weeks ago when you weren't on.
01:19:28
Well, I think one of my theories might be true.
01:19:30
In this I have. Which one?
01:19:32
I have a feeling, yeah, especially after this trailer,
01:19:35
it's like, Oh my God, It really feels like the theory, one of
01:19:37
the theories I had is, is going to be true.
01:19:40
It's that. Was that the one about Vecna?
01:19:43
Yes. So the one about Vecna not being
01:19:45
the actual villain of the show. Yeah, that Vecna is being
01:19:49
controlled by the Mind Flayer, and the Mind Flayer is the
01:19:52
actual villain of the show, and he's been controlling them the
01:19:54
entire time. There's been hints about that,
01:19:56
yeah, all over, especially with Will in Season 1.
01:20:00
Season one, yeah. Yeah, so there's show.
01:20:02
One of the things that you see in this season Part 2 season
01:20:06
trailer is there's a scene where Henry is looking up and there's
01:20:11
black veins coming up the side of his neck.
01:20:14
And that is very similar to what happened to Billy in season 3
01:20:18
when the mind flare took over his mind.
01:20:20
So I have a feeling that they're going to go that route.
01:20:25
The rumor is if you follow this kind of theory online, is that
01:20:29
the mind flare took control of Henry when he was a child and
01:20:36
helped him develop his powers. And the Mind Flayer basically is
01:20:40
the reason that that Henry killed all these people and kind
01:20:44
of turned into this little psychopath that he turns into is
01:20:46
because. He's Emperor Palpatine.
01:20:48
Yeah. He's Darth Sidious.
01:20:50
Right. The mind flayer was basically
01:20:52
controlling him the entire time and when he got banned into the
01:20:56
upside down, the mind flayer essentially his he tried to
01:21:02
elevate Henry and turned him into this, you know, vine
01:21:05
monster that he is now. So you know, he's just warped by
01:21:10
by the mind flayer in the upside down.
01:21:12
So it's interesting to see where they go with this.
01:21:16
And again, they're talking about they're going to be some major
01:21:18
deaths in this. Again, my predictions in this.
01:21:22
I think Jonathan Byers is going to die just because he hasn't
01:21:26
been doing very much the entire show.
01:21:28
I think they've just been kind of pushing him back or, or.
01:21:31
Still rocking a bowl cut and you're like, you can't live with
01:21:34
a bowl cut. Or, or again the theory that
01:21:38
everybody has because it's going to carry so much emotional
01:21:42
weight, is killing off what's his name, Chips Ahoy do that
01:21:47
everybody loves. Steve.
01:21:49
Steve. Steve.
01:21:50
I don't. I have.
01:21:51
I watched the first season and I remembered Steve.
01:21:54
Yeah, but I mean, like, I think again, because if you kill off
01:21:57
Steve, there's emotional weight to that and it's gonna break
01:22:00
everybody and and you know, either that or you kill off
01:22:04
Will. No, I'm sorry, not Will you kill
01:22:07
off Mike because. He's like kind of the main guy.
01:22:10
Mike is the leader of their group.
01:22:12
Mike is the emotional anchor between everybody.
01:22:16
All of the main characters have some kind of tie to Mike.
01:22:19
And if Mike dies, everything goes to hell.
01:22:23
And then when I say goes to hell, everybody's going to
01:22:25
break, right? Like every character in that
01:22:28
show is tied to Mike in some way, whether it is, you know,
01:22:32
related to him or they're friends with him.
01:22:35
Will is his best friend, right? Yeah, I mean, that's why they
01:22:38
had to go find him. Yeah, 11 is her.
01:22:41
Is is is his girlfriend. 11's his girlfriend.
01:22:44
So you kill Mike and you cause an extreme for everybody.
01:22:49
They'll be like, well, this is it.
01:22:51
That's the straw that broke the camel's back.
01:22:52
I can see that. Yeah, I think, I think Hawkins
01:22:55
is gonna die. I think they're gonna pull a
01:22:58
Buffy and hell mouth it. They already kind of hell
01:23:01
mouthed it. Yeah, they just put some band
01:23:03
aids on top. Exactly.
01:23:03
They put a big metal Band-Aid on it.
01:23:06
That's right. She hasn't watched it so she
01:23:08
doesn't know what's going on. No, yeah, they kind of, they
01:23:12
kind of did hell mouth it. There's a there's a giant rift
01:23:14
in the middle of the town that that is connected to the Upside
01:23:17
Down. This is how they connect to
01:23:19
Buffy. You know the reboot.
01:23:20
There you go. So, yeah, again, my my
01:23:23
prediction is we find out that Vecna is not the real villain,
01:23:26
that Vecna is creating an army to fight the mind flare.
01:23:29
That's why he's kidnapping all these kids.
01:23:32
And that. Yeah.
01:23:33
And that's why. And.
01:23:34
And again, I I feel like in the process Beckman is going to kill
01:23:38
Mike. Oh no.
01:23:40
Gil Girard passed away, guys. Oh, no, yeah.
01:23:44
Buck Rogers. Oh no.
01:23:45
Thanks. That's super sad.
01:23:46
Thanks Dave for telling us, but yeah, Oh my God.
01:23:49
It must have been itching, man, because we were just talking
01:23:51
about Dave. Yeah, Oh, man, that's sad.
01:23:55
And he actually said it like appropriately, because we're
01:23:58
getting ready to talk about Rob Reiner so now.
01:24:00
Yeah. So now we're going to bring
01:24:02
everything down right now. So all right, from all the
01:24:05
things that we were talking about to to one of the sadder
01:24:09
things that that's happened this week, we're going to miss you,
01:24:12
Rob. And apparently we're going to
01:24:14
miss you, Gil. So, I mean, you know, that's
01:24:15
breaking news for us that Gil Gerard passed Buck Rogers
01:24:18
himself. But we'll, we'll, we'll address
01:24:23
this here. Rob Reiner was a celebrated and
01:24:25
brilliant filmmaker whose career defined modern storytelling
01:24:28
across genres. Each film touched our hearts and
01:24:31
made us laugh through the tears. From heartfelt dramas to
01:24:34
timeless comedies, his films continue to inspire audiences
01:24:37
and film makers alike. A life cut short, a legacy that
01:24:40
will remain forever. Rob Reiner's legacy isn't about
01:24:43
endings. It's about the timeless stories
01:24:45
they continue to live on. Did you guys, have you guys
01:24:49
gotten a chance to see his latest movie?
01:24:51
No. Which one is that?
01:24:53
So he just sadly he didn't even get the chance to get the
01:24:56
laurels from it. They just released.
01:24:58
Oh, I'm forgetting the name already.
01:25:04
It's a sequel. I know he's going to be in the
01:25:07
Bear. And are you saying about Spinal
01:25:10
Tap 2? Spinal Tap 2.
01:25:12
OK, yeah, he was at the the premiere and then.
01:25:15
But I mean, like, again, he's not going to get his laurels.
01:25:17
Like basically it's, it's, there's been a lot of hype
01:25:20
because now that it's it's streaming right now, there's a
01:25:22
lot of hype about like how how much everybody's loving this
01:25:25
movie and it like it literally just hit streaming like a couple
01:25:29
of days ago. That's awful.
01:25:31
Yeah, so I mean, like, he's not even going to get a chance to
01:25:33
see, you know, the cult status that it's going to hit, you
01:25:37
know, and it's it's it's so sad, you know, everything surrounding
01:25:42
what happened and everything like that.
01:25:43
And I don't want to get into all that.
01:25:44
I just want to remember his legacy and you know, a few good
01:25:47
men and just all the movies that that Rob Reiner has Princess.
01:25:53
Bride. Princess Bride is a major movie,
01:25:56
you know, Like, yeah, it's, it's very sad to know that we're
01:25:59
never going to get his creativity, you know?
01:26:02
Yeah, super sad. Yeah, he'll be missed from all
01:26:05
in the family all the way till now, yeah.
01:26:08
I totally forgot he was an all he's.
01:26:09
Everybody's meathead. Oh, like.
01:26:12
That's how that's how he got famous, was was being an all in
01:26:15
the family. Well, he got famous because of
01:26:18
his dad but. Well, yeah, yeah.
01:26:20
I mean, Carl Reiner was a legend too.
01:26:22
So I mean he died in 92 I think. Yeah, I want to say 2000s, but
01:26:29
I'm I'm not sure on that. I don't know.
01:26:31
I I love Carl Reiner. I loved him in the Dick Van Dyke
01:26:35
show. I think that's the first place I
01:26:37
ever saw him and then heard he and and Mel Brooks like we're
01:26:42
like pals and stuff and it's like 2020.
01:26:45
OK, yeah, that's I thought it was in the 2000s so.
01:26:48
But yeah, it yeah, I'm in AI will absolutely miss him.
01:26:52
I feel like my favorite uncle died, you know?
01:26:55
Yeah, God. And you know, you know, when we
01:26:58
found out yesterday what was going on, Jackie immediately was
01:27:01
like, nobody tell Mel Brooks he's not going to be able to
01:27:04
take that because, I mean, they were best friends.
01:27:06
Yeah, I know. To this day, they were best
01:27:08
friends, you know, and it's, it's really sad to hear, you
01:27:11
know, that, that, that, that he passed.
01:27:13
And it's like God, Mel Brooks, I, I imagine he's not taking it
01:27:17
easy. He's 97, guys, yeah.
01:27:19
Man, he was, yeah, Rob Reiner, he was.
01:27:22
I mean, he goes so far back. He was even in, like, the Batman
01:27:25
series. Yeah, an episode.
01:27:28
Yeah. Yeah.
01:27:28
Damn Hollywood royalty. He really was, yeah.
01:27:32
That's crazy. He will be.
01:27:33
Missed for bitching about Disney?
01:27:36
Yeah, Yeah, let's do that. Let's.
01:27:38
I need to let out some of it. But Jen, before you do that, I
01:27:43
need you to talk about our last shot out here.
01:27:46
Oh yeah, yeah. Glad somebody remembered because
01:27:51
I forgot to. Yeah, where is Oh, here we go.
01:27:54
Distance nerding is a part of the Geek Freaks Network.

01:28:27

01:28:31
Disney Moms Gone. Disney.
01:28:33
Moms gone wrong. Disney moms gone wrong, which
01:28:36
they probably have a lot to say about the next story.
01:28:41
All right, let's dive into it before.
01:28:43
We do that. Before you get on that, remember
01:28:44
we've got it. We've got a transition for this.
01:28:46
So guys, it's time to talk about what's happening in all of the
01:28:50
nerd world, the things that are trending online.
01:28:52
It's time for the trend up. Now can I?
01:29:03
Go can I? Go.
01:29:05
OK, All right, Go. Bob Iger's got a lot of
01:29:08
explaining to do. Disney has struck a massive
01:29:12
partnership with Open AI, investing 1 billion into the
01:29:18
company and bringing more than 200 Disney characters to the
01:29:22
Sora video platform. The Rela is expected to begin in
01:29:27
2026 with integrated Disney's IP into interactive AI driven video
01:29:34
experiences, potentially reshaping how audiences engage
01:29:39
with beloved characters across Disney Plus and beyond.
01:29:43
This is kind of entity. So let me let me let's break it
01:29:47
down just a little bit. So Disney, you know, has always
01:29:50
led with some innovation when it comes to technology, from
01:29:54
animation to theme parks, all that stuff.
01:29:57
But AI is expanding storytelling possibilities.
01:30:01
And this could go in so many different directions, letting
01:30:04
fans interact with characters like Elsa or Iron Man or Buzz
01:30:09
and Woody and it talking back to you in the voices.
01:30:13
Kind of like that the turtle Turtle Time or turtle something
01:30:17
with Crush in California Adventure.
01:30:21
But there's an actor that's doing.
01:30:22
There's an actor behind that, so the automation can handle
01:30:26
repetitive tasks freeing human. Fire him.
01:30:30
You're freeing human artists to focus on bold creative work.
01:30:34
So thanks, Crush, go go focus on bold creative work.
01:30:39
The deal democratizes access to Disney's IP, making it more
01:30:45
interactive and globally accessible.
01:30:48
I don't. So the cons, I mean, there's a
01:30:50
gazillion cons, but a billion dollar AI push risks sidelining
01:30:54
human writers and animators and creatives.
01:30:59
Feeding 200 characters into sore raises concerns about narrative
01:31:03
control and authenticity. AI generated content may lack
01:31:09
emotional nuances of human artistry.
01:31:12
Disney's legacy was built on imagination, not automation.
01:31:16
Over reliance on AI could flatten creativity.
01:31:19
So I'm going to ask you guys, is Disney's billion dollar leap
01:31:23
into AI the future of storytelling, or does it risk
01:31:27
turning creativity into corporate code?
01:31:30
So this is where AI can become problematic like like hardcore,
01:31:35
because it's one thing if you're using it as a tool, it's one
01:31:38
thing to do like, hey, this is a fun little thing you can do
01:31:41
where you make a video of you interacting with Mickey Mouse or
01:31:45
something like that. But it's another thing, when you
01:31:47
use something like Sora 2, which is a full on replacement, you
01:31:53
know it's a. Freaky, freaky thing.
01:31:55
Yeah, like, you know, it's, it's, it's not you're, you're
01:32:01
taking creativity away from creators.
01:32:03
There, there's there's no, there there is no, you know, this is
01:32:07
the future and this is what's going on when you're doing that,
01:32:09
you're you're, you're hollowing out what is capable, what it
01:32:13
what is possible of, of happening.
01:32:15
It's this is again, I've always been an advocate for using AI as
01:32:20
a tool, but using it as a replacement is where it's wrong.
01:32:23
And, and Disney paying this much money into something that is
01:32:27
going to be a full on creative hindrance and to say that, oh,
01:32:32
no, we're using it so that they can free themselves up to do
01:32:35
more creative things. Sounds like you're looking for
01:32:38
an excuse to fire people because they're not being creative
01:32:40
enough in your way. It, it, it actually really
01:32:44
concerns me because these, this kind of thing needs to be
01:32:48
something where, again, you can use it as a tool to help refine
01:32:53
what you're doing, but to use it as something that's replacing
01:32:55
the creativity in the first place is problematic.
01:32:59
Fred, do you see any potential good uses of this AI with
01:33:04
Disney? The thing that got me, like the,
01:33:06
the pro that got me was the, the, oh, what was it?
01:33:12
It's the expanding, the not expanding the storytelling, the
01:33:18
democratizing access to Disney's IP.
01:33:20
Disney has always been really stingy with how they use their
01:33:26
their IPS. It's like they had the vault for
01:33:28
a long time where it was like, oh, it's not coming out for 12
01:33:31
years. So if you want to watch Sleep
01:33:33
and Beauty, you better watch it now.
01:33:35
Like that kind of stuff. And I was like, that's
01:33:37
ridiculous in this day and age. So that was really the only one
01:33:41
that I was like, you know what, I kind of I, I would like
01:33:45
Disney's IP to be a little bit more accessible, but they kind
01:33:48
of changed that with Disney Plus.
01:33:50
I feel like Bob Iger instead of spending a billion dollars on
01:33:56
trying to be more creative and have more creative people jump
01:34:01
on board, he gave a billion dollars to AI so he can push
01:34:06
humans out of the equation. That's how honestly how I feel
01:34:11
because Bob Iger is a fucking corporate shill.
01:34:15
He he's even more than a shill. He's not even a shill because he
01:34:18
fucking owns it. You know what I can't even with
01:34:21
him. I can't odd with him.
01:34:23
I don't even want to. I will punch him in the face if
01:34:26
I ever see him and I'm only like 50% kidding on that guys.
01:34:30
I he has done more damage over the years than any other studio
01:34:39
head and I'm still including Zasloff in this.
01:34:43
Wow, OK. Zasloff is a jerk and an idiot,
01:34:48
but Iger knew what he was doing. He knows what he's doing with
01:34:52
this, too. He is trying to get all that
01:34:56
money, everything he can. And you know what?
01:34:58
He's still going to die. And what's going to happen to
01:35:00
that money? Oh, his kids or whatever are
01:35:03
going to fuck it off. And then where's that money
01:35:06
going to be when he could have spent that billion dollars
01:35:09
enriching other people's lives, helping creatives, and maybe
01:35:13
bringing a second renaissance into the world?
01:35:16
But no, no, fuck that shit, let's go corporate, let's do AI.
01:35:20
So fuck him. And I hope his yachts, all of
01:35:25
them, sink. Wow, So you're OK with this?
01:35:28
OK, I get it. I get it.
01:35:30
I, I 100% don't disagree with Jen at all.
01:35:32
Like I'm, I'm again, I, I just. I mean, what concerns me is the
01:35:36
billion dollar investment, Not that they're using AI.
01:35:39
Like, I get it, you're going to use AI.
01:35:41
You have to stay ahead of the curve.
01:35:44
So you need to be aware of what's out there.
01:35:46
OK, I got it. But throwing a billion dollars
01:35:49
into another company, this is an investment that they're
01:35:53
expecting to pay off down the road.
01:35:56
So I don't know how they're going to, you know, equate this
01:36:00
to making their money back. I also think this is a way to
01:36:06
make characters live on past the actors that are portraying them.
01:36:10
So like, I don't know, you know, we're looking at Buzz and Woody
01:36:14
on the screen over here. You know, like if, if Tim Allen
01:36:19
ever decides, you know what, I'm done, they're going to find ways
01:36:22
to carry this forward with some kind of AI actor.
01:36:25
Or they're going to put this on the cruise ships and you could,
01:36:29
the kid can walk up and, and go interact with Buzz or Woody or,
01:36:34
you know, Sleeping Beauty or something like that.
01:36:36
Instead of having characters and costumes, you know, you'll just
01:36:40
walk up to a screen and interact with the screen versus, you
01:36:43
know, hugging Cinderella when you meet her at Disneyland.
01:36:47
So again, I think this is going to pull the humanity out of the
01:36:52
Disney magic. So it kind of bums me out.
01:36:55
Yeah, and I mean. Like being an actor, like I'm
01:36:59
going to, I'm going to put my actor's hat on for just a second
01:37:02
If we if we do that. So if you think about the stage,
01:37:06
think about theater, how many times has Shakespeare's Hamlet
01:37:11
been done, or Romeo and Juliet or like any of them Midsummer
01:37:16
Night's Dream. If you if let's say you put all
01:37:19
that in AI, then no one knew would be able to experience
01:37:24
being able to say Romeo's lines from when he spots Juliet on the
01:37:31
balcony. Park.
01:37:33
But yeah, it is the East and Juliet is the sun.
01:37:37
Arise fair sun and killed a envious moon.
01:37:39
I actually know the whole thing. I'm not going to do it, but I
01:37:42
do. And I'm saying that it is a
01:37:44
really good monologue. But I just feel like having
01:37:48
humans be able to interpret things like that, I feel like
01:37:53
that's what we need. I think that's what not only
01:37:56
fuels our creativity, but also helps us become more curious.
01:38:02
And that is something as humans we need to do.
01:38:05
And I feel like we don't have that as much with Google And
01:38:07
with all of that, I just, you know, everything's at our
01:38:10
fingertips now. Creativity, I feel has been
01:38:13
stifled because of it. So yeah, I, I, I get it's a, a
01:38:18
really good shortcut, but I'd rather have 15 actors play
01:38:22
Winnie the Pooh then have the original guide to it, you know,
01:38:27
because then it's like, oh, this actor brought something else to
01:38:29
it. Think about Wicked.
01:38:31
Like if we just had Wizard of Oz and they just, you know, put in
01:38:35
Glenda's old voice and hadn't had her AI character do it, we
01:38:39
wouldn't have gotten Ariana Grande's.
01:38:42
Good point. You know the wicked witch we
01:38:45
wouldn't have gotten Christina Evio.
01:38:49
How do I say her last name? Cynthia Revo.
01:38:51
Cynthia Revo. What did I say, Christina?
01:38:54
Yeah. I don't know.
01:38:55
OK, never mind. I am horrible about that.
01:38:58
I apologize but we wouldn't get her amazing singing or her
01:39:01
interpretation. You're, you're not getting new
01:39:03
takes on the different characters.
01:39:05
I mean, we've been talking about, I was talking about the
01:39:07
other day about Sebastian Stan potentially playing Luke's
01:39:10
younger Luke Skywalker, right? Because we're talking about Mara
01:39:13
Jade and doing a Mara Jade story where we need a younger Luke
01:39:16
Skywalker. You know, Sebastian Stan can
01:39:18
play that character and Sebastian Stan has talked about
01:39:21
how he wants to play Luke Skywalker.
01:39:22
So I mean, you, you don't get the opportunities to do that.
01:39:26
If we are doing AI Luke Skywalker, you know, if, if we
01:39:29
are doing AI versions of characters that you know, you're
01:39:33
programming but aren't emotionally there and not
01:39:37
portraying the emotion in the character, you know, you're not
01:39:39
doing anything new with the character because you don't have
01:39:41
an actor that's doing a take on the character.
01:39:43
It's in some cases AI is fine. And, and, and, and the cases
01:39:50
that I mean, it's going to be like, OK, we use Sora 2 to put
01:39:54
Mickey Mouse in a video game, right?
01:39:56
I'm OK with something like that if it's like a small cameo.
01:40:00
The only thing I don't like about that is, yeah, we're not
01:40:02
getting a voice actor to do the character right.
01:40:06
But I mean, even then, you know, there there are things with
01:40:09
Mickey where he you just visually see him and he doesn't
01:40:12
talk. Yeah, you know, and things like
01:40:14
that I'm OK with, you know, things where say you have like
01:40:18
the Harry Potter newspapers, right?
01:40:22
Like set something up like that, right where kind of how James
01:40:26
was saying in Disneyland, right? You walk by and you have
01:40:31
Cinderella, the the actual cartoon character Cinderella
01:40:34
interacting with you on screen but not saying anything.
01:40:38
You know what I mean? Like you walk by a you walk by
01:40:42
like a magic mirror and Snow White or the, the wicked Queen
01:40:48
is, is in that magic mirror and she's messing with you.
01:40:50
That's something fun you can do with AI, right?
01:40:53
Because she's not talking to you, but she's like mirroring
01:40:56
your movements and, you know, doing all kinds of different
01:40:58
things in a mirror in a way that like, again, like the newspapers
01:41:01
in Harry Potter where you have the, the, the GIF inside of the
01:41:04
newspaper. That kind of thing would be
01:41:07
something fun you do with Disney characters in AI, right.
01:41:11
But. But completely, Sora 2
01:41:14
completely fabricates videos that are somewhat realistic
01:41:19
based on scripts. And now you're going to have
01:41:22
people interacting with, oh, Mickey Mouse just got caught on
01:41:26
my front yard, you know, trying to grab a a box.
01:41:31
Yeah. It's a long in the chat, said
01:41:33
Mr. Rogers turns heel. So Sora 2 is, is that the videos
01:41:38
I see of like somebody takes Mr. Rogers and puts puts him in in a
01:41:42
wrestling arena and he's like walking down?
01:41:45
It's the ones that are real. The Sora 2 is are the ones that
01:41:49
look real. Oh my gosh.
01:41:51
Right. Husby sent me a couple of them
01:41:52
and I'm like, babe, that's Sora. Yeah, Sora 2 Did you see the
01:41:57
video? So like, like this is on topic
01:41:59
for everything we've been talking about tonight.
01:42:00
Did you see the video of Millie Alcock interacting with crypto?
01:42:04
Yeah, Yeah. So there's a video out there
01:42:06
right now of Millie Alcock. It looks like she's on set.
01:42:10
She's wearing her full on costume.
01:42:13
You know, she gets down on one knee and starts petting crypto
01:42:16
and starts playing with crypto, right?
01:42:18
People are being fooled by it because Crypto is a fully
01:42:22
animated dog. Yeah, there's no real dog.
01:42:24
There's no real dog. He's based on James Gunn's
01:42:28
actual dog, but that dog is black.
01:42:30
Yeah, James Gunn's dog is black. He's not white.
01:42:33
He's grey. A grey OK, but he's he's he's
01:42:36
he's not he's not a white dog like Crypto, right?
01:42:39
Crypto as a dog is not a real dog.
01:42:42
He was animated by animators, fully animated by animators.
01:42:46
And yeah, and there are, there's AI stuff out there right now
01:42:52
because AI does animals. Asura too, specifically does
01:42:55
animals really well. Yeah, interesting.
01:42:58
You know we're gonna talk about this though a lot.
01:43:00
I'm sure this isn't going away anytime soon so and we're almost
01:43:04
at 2 hours so we should probably move it along.
01:43:07
So, yeah, we're going to we're going to go ahead and move on.
01:43:09
Again, it's it's it's very concerning where they're going.
01:43:13
But either way, from Hawkins to Hollywood, that's the big
01:43:17
picture for the week. But now to bring it back to us,
01:43:20
it's time for some wearables. That's right, ladies and
01:43:23
gentlemen, because we got merch people.
01:43:25
I'm saying that like I don't have the button ready.
01:43:29
I think that was AI Young Phil, it was.
01:43:32
He. Got merch people.
01:43:36
In hindsight, in hindsight, that did sound like like like the
01:43:40
Internet was slowing me down and stretching me out.
01:43:43
No, ladies and gentlemen, that's my acting ability.
01:43:45
I was actually stretching that out trying to move screens for
01:43:48
the audio listeners out there. All right, James, go ahead.
01:43:50
You must have gone to the Trevor Slattery Acting school.
01:43:55
We got merch people and so can you DM us at distance starting
01:43:58
on Instagram? Let us know what shirt you're
01:44:00

01:44:02
We got the black shirt with the logo.
01:44:04
We got the character shirt and charcoal.
01:44:07
They're 20 bucks, 25 if we got to ship it to you.
01:44:09
We got different sizes. Let us know what size you're
01:44:12
looking for, how many shirts you're looking for.
01:44:14

01:44:38
Thursdays, the build. Ladies and gentlemen, James, I
01:44:43
don't know if you want to be here for this one, but from SAT
01:44:46
Geeks Direct Frisco is going to be on the show this week, so
01:44:50
it's. Going to be oh nice, good job
01:44:52
so. We're going to be talking.
01:44:53
With Frisco, such a good guy. Yeah, we're going to be talking
01:44:55
with Frisco on on on this Thursday, talking about his
01:44:58
origin story. I don't know if he's from the
01:45:01
city at all or he might be from Frisco, TX.
01:45:03
No, probably not. But we will be talking with
01:45:06
Frisco this the from SAT geeks this this Thursday.
01:45:11
So tune in for that. I am still building the Grinch
01:45:17
wreath. This is what I've got built so
01:45:19
far so you guys can see that. Nice.
01:45:21
Right now I've got to actually build the Grinch.
01:45:24
And then I also somebody sent me this and I, I may actually build
01:45:27
it. Somebody sent me like one of
01:45:29
those little mini kits of a Christmas tree.
01:45:31
Oh, how cute. Oh.
01:45:33
So I'm probably going to build that on on Thursday too.
01:45:35
You're. Going to build that so that the
01:45:37
Grinch can steal it. The Oh my God, yes, I'm probably
01:45:40
going to do that. And then of course, ladies and
01:45:42
gentlemen, on Fridays, we've got the buzzer from 6:30 to 8:30,
01:45:46
playing all the different games, all the different things.

01:46:02

01:46:04

01:46:10
the, the, the Christmas Carol, the Twisted Christmas Carol
01:46:14
movies. Yeah, yeah, guys ran those like
01:46:17
immediately. It was crazy.
01:46:18

01:46:20
horror one that that only graveyard knew.
01:46:24
I can't believe that the the hidden Bruce Campbell.
01:46:29
Of all people. He didn't even know that movie.
01:46:31
Of all people, the guy who knows nothing but Bruce Campbell
01:46:34
didn't know the hidden Bruce Campbell question.
01:46:38
I mean, to be fair, it was a hallmark.
01:46:40
Hallmark movie, Yeah. But it's it's fun, I thought.
01:46:44
For sure. I was like the only Hallmark
01:46:47
movie he'll know and he didn't even get it.
01:46:49
And freaking Bill was like, I bet it's Bruce Campbell.
01:46:53
And I was like. I made a joke.
01:46:55
Even say that. I made a joke that's like, it's
01:46:58
probably Bruce Campbell. It's probably, that's probably
01:47:00
the hidden Bruce Campbell. And it ended up being the hidden
01:47:02
