But the Colossus Girl ones that we go to, they seem just so much more like not homegrown, because I think that has a negative connotation to some people. [00:06:29] Like you see people you haven't seen in a year and you've had good times with them. So I like them. I agree. I agree with that 100%. It is definitely a great show. [00:07:27] So let's start with this. Sadie goes a little gray. The mutant era just took a fiery step forward, and it's coming straight through the Spider-Man corner of the MCU. Insider Daniel Reichman now claims that Sadie Sink is officially playing Jean Grey in Spider-Man Brand New Day, confirming weeks of speculation about the film's mutant crossover ambitions. If this sticks, Peter's next team-up might come with a Phoenix-level power tingle.

[00:07:55] So Reichman says that the deal is 100% locked in, ending the rumor cycle. So, I mean, he is really putting it out there. Like, there's... He does not want speculation to be there at all. He's just like, I'm going to spoil it right now. Jean Grey's inclusion signals Marvel accelerating mutant integration into the mainline MCU, and Spider-Man Brand New Day is expected to feature multiple mutant cameos. So, your thoughts on this, Jen?

[00:08:23] Well, I think I need to do another video. Because we did the Sadie Sink and Sadie Punisher. Remember? Yeah. Like a year ago. And so, maybe we should do one of hers, Jean Grey. And, yeah, the Sadie Sink as characters channel. That's what we should change to. We're just speculating what Sadie Sink is playing in all of Marvel. Yeah, what she's going to do next. Right. She's going to eat a taco.

[00:08:53] All right. I'm sure she will. At some point. No, I... You know what? I don't mind her as Jean Grey. I really don't. I've really come to think, you know what? Okay. I mean, she did play a little close to Jean Grey in the whole Stranger Things thing. But, you know, I don't mind it. I don't mind it at all.

[00:09:20] I do think it's interesting that Reichman is saying, oh, it's guaranteed. He went like Charles Barkley on that. And so, I'm like, okay, well, this must be a thing. He's like, I'm ending speculation now. I'm going to spoil this. I don't care if this is supposed to be a surprise. Everybody. 100%. She's Jean Grey. I don't care what anybody says. That's basically what he's doing.

[00:09:42] I mean, I've been saying for a while that just based on some of the costumes and the way that you kind of seen her in a lot of the marketing material and everything like that. Like, I think closer and closer, I do believe she's Jean Grey. I have been avoiding... Like, I really... This year, I decided I'm going to try to avoid looking at stuff before I go see the movies. Because I want to be surprised again.

[00:10:12] And I know we do this show every week and it's like, really, Jen? Why? Why would you do that to us? But I just don't want to see it. I want to be surprised. So, I have no problem speculating. But I want to be surprised. But if she is Jean Grey, that's fine. If she's not, that's fine. I'm really not that bought into any of this right now. I'm like, cool, Jean Grey. Oh, she's going to be Lady Punisher. Cool.

[00:10:42] I don't care. Like I said, just based on some of the costumes that we've seen her in, I feel like she... Her costume right now, the one that we've seen in the trailers, is very much Jean Grey's jacket. There's a Jean Grey color palette. I 100% believe that she is... Oh, like the green and yellow? Right. Right. I 100% believe that she's Jean Grey. I'm with that. So, any other speculation on this before we move on?

[00:11:11] No, I think that... Yeah. I can't wait to see it. I think it's going to be fun. I haven't actually seen any of the trailers. Like I said... The trailers are so good. I'm purposely not watching them. Unless we go to the movies. And then I'll watch them. Because I can't not watch them. But I have seen the Odyssey one. It looks really good. That trailer looks great, too. But again, that was because I was watching basketball. So...

[00:11:41] Alright. Shh. Do not tell Aunt May. Sony and Marvel are turning the hype dial to 11 as the next Spider-Man film ramps up its global footprint. The studios behind Spider-Man Brand New Day have launched a worldwide Spidey tracker marketing campaign and officially confirmed the film will headline a major panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

[00:12:08] So, the Spidey tracker lets fans follow real-time promotional drops across multiple countries. Which has been a thing that Marvel's been doing. Like dropping promo packets in other countries that we don't get to see here. Because they're making it this massive global thing. SDCC panel... The SDCC panel is expected to debut new footage and cast reveals. And then the marketing push suggests the film is positioned as a tentpole event. So, again, what are your thoughts on this?

[00:12:38] Again, I think 100% this is something that's happening. That they're pushing to SDCC. I don't know about cast reveals. Because I think they may do reveals because, you know, stuff like Reitman saying, like, she is Jean Grey. There's no speculation. It is Jean Grey. You know, you get to a point where it's like, all right, we have to reveal this. We were trying to save it for the movie. But, you know, I think that, you know, other than that, I think they're going to hold a couple things to the chest.

[00:13:08] Just to make it so that the film, you know, you give people a reason to go see the film. Okay, here's what you want my spec. You want what I think is going to happen at San Diego Comic-Con. Okay, I will tell you. They're going to do a premiere there. Yeah. You think they're going to show the... They're going to premiere in Spider-Man? Yeah. Why not? The movie comes out July 31st, correct? Right. When is San Diego Comic-Con? Like mid-July, right?

[00:13:38] July 23rd. So, actually, you're not wrong because they would just be doing it a week early. They could do like a special screening premiere type thing with some of the cast and make it a big deal and have a huge Spider-Man like experience there. So, if they say it's going to be big, because remember like with King of the Hill, what was it last year at San Diego Comic-Con? They had like a whole thing. Yeah.

[00:14:05] And that was a TV show on a streaming service. So, I can't imagine what they're going to do for Spider-Man. I'm actually pretty excited about that. I think that's going to be really interesting. I would like to see the old days of San Diego Comic-Con where like the big spectacle was back. Where the comic books took it back as the big spectacle. Like they used to. I'd love to see something like that.

[00:14:34] So, I hope I'm right about this. And if I'm not, I know some of you at San Diego Comic-Con and I will be speaking to you. Yeah. I can see that actually. I wish I was kidding.

[00:15:01] Like, I do want to see something where San Diego Comic-Con can start setting itself apart rather than just being like, you know, oh, this is where all the big celebrities go and everything like that. Like them actually getting a lot of those exclusives back. Because that's been like CinemaCon is getting a lot of that. But I'm forgetting what the con Rio de Janeiro is. But like they're getting a lot of stuff like that. Oh, what? CCPX or something like that? Yeah, CCPX. Something like that. Yeah.

[00:15:28] You know, like a lot of these other, you know, cons are starting to get a lot of the things that San Diego used to get. And it's like San Diego's got to fight back. I mean, aside from the fact that if you go to San Diego Comic-Con, it's still San Diego is like nerd heaven. But I mean, like, you know. It is. Yeah, it becomes nerd heaven. At least for those eight days. Yeah. Eight days. Nerdvana. Nerdvana. Yeah, there you go. It becomes nerdvana. No, it's not nerdvana.

[00:15:57] It's got to be the, the, the, oh, Valhalla. It's got to be nerdhala. Yeah, nerdhala is going to. I was trying to think, is there another way to say that? Come on! Why wouldn't you do the Odin? Odin would be so mad at you for that. Nerdholla probably would be the best way to put that down. So that's also writing that down. Are we going to nerdholla?

We're both here and we aren't being supervised. Exactly. So yeah. Just with all that being said, I didn't mention before, but Spider-Man brand new day is swinging in the theaters on July 31st.

[00:16:55] And Spider-Man isn't just swinging back. He's taking over the summer hype cycle and I'm all, I'm all here for it. Going to be a vibe y'all. Exactly. Five, five, five. Exactly. Six, seven. Oh, sorry. Six, seven. Seven. So. He can't tell us to stop. Moving on. Has Yelena found her Sriracha sister? Or Sriracha sister? Sister. Sister.

[00:17:23] The rumor mill is heating up again and this time it's targeting Marvel's biggest upcoming crossover. A new online rumor suggests that Yelena Belova and Mystique will share several hot scenes in Avengers Doomsday hinting at unexpected character dynamics in the ensemble film. Source claims, a source claims the scenes are surprisingly bold for a mainline Avengers movie. No confirmation from Marvel or the actors involved, but it does suggest that Mystique may have

[00:17:53] a larger role than previously expected. Are you, are you in on this? Do you, do you want to see some, some hot Mystique on Yelena Belova action? Okay. Well, look, we've already discovered that Mystique can be a man because she was the father of her own child. Right? She's the father of her own child. Yeah. Yes. But it just says hot scenes.

[00:18:19] I think it's going to be on a volcano, an erupting volcano or something. I think the hot scene, or it's going to be hot sauce. They're going to have a scene where they're both trying to out hot sauce each other. Something like that. Because first of all, Kate the Bishop, the Kate the Bishop of it all and the macaroni and cheese. And then the hot scene.

[00:18:48] So that's what I think. I think it's going to be girl on girl or girl on shapeshifter action. Although I do think that would be lovely. I think it would be lovely. I think she needs something after Bob because her and Bob bonded in a weird way and she's going to need something after that. But she could fall in love with Mystique while Mystique is somebody else. True. True.

[00:19:18] That was Mystique and then it's like all awkward and then that could be hot. I mean, there's so many ways they could go with this. Yeah. No, I get it. I do like the idea of the hot action is literally them just putting Sriracha on stuff or the like a behind the scenes thing of them just like bonding over Sriracha. You know what I mean? Like it's. Yeah. Yeah. And it's like, oh yeah, no. Because I mean, that could easily be a swerve. That's something that like, you know, a lot of these creators like to do is like,

[00:19:48] there's going to be hot action. Yeah. The hot is spicy. Paul Bettany ruined it for everyone. About him saying that he, uh, he, he, he acted with the best actor that ever exists. And he's talking about himself. The best actor he's ever acted with. I was like, oh my God, who is it? Oh my God. Is it going to, you know? And we were all like on this like speculation train. And then it was him. Yeah. He was talking about himself.

[00:20:17] Dare he. How? Although it could have been Catherine Han, because as we know, she's fantastic. Absolutely. Uh, so let's move on to the next story here or the last story that I have on here. Uh, move over Magneto. Get out of the way. The animated revival isn't slowing down. It's escalating. Marvel has dropped the first trailer for X-Men 97 season two, showcasing apocalypse,

[00:20:42] multiple new mutant squads, and a massive escalation in the series ongoing conflict. Trailer highlights apocalypse as the central threat for the new season, which I'm all for. Of course, apocalypse is one of my all time favorite villains. So they just give him more shine. Uh, new teams include fresh lineups and returning fan favorite characters. Uh, the animation appears even more dynamic than season one, which makes it even more drawing to the eye.

[00:21:09] Uh, and then of course season two, uh, is premiering on Disney plus on July 1st. So we're like less than a month away. We're like two weeks away. Um, so I'm, I'm, I'm so excited for this. Uh, uh, and again, I'm skipping over. I'm skipping over other things. Uh, I forgot to mention that Avengers Doomsday, uh, steams up the theaters on December 18th. Um, you had just not been doing any of the like, Hey, this is when this stuff is coming out.

[00:21:37] Because I get so excited to get into the next, uh, the next story. Um, like this specifically, I'm, I'm so excited for like more apocalypse.

[00:21:46] I mean, we got a lot of apocalypse in the first original series, but kind of seeing them dive into more stories, dive into, you know, kind of like the survival of the fittest storyline, getting into more of these apocalypse storylines that are just, you know, uh, uh, seeing this genocidal maniac, uh, just be the scene stealing monster that he is. Here's what I want. Here's what I want. So here's my headcanon. This is just Jen headcanon. Okay.

[00:22:15] I'm totally of the belief that Xavier and Eric were a gay couple. And I really think that apocalypse was their third for a little while. And so now apocalypse is back into, in their lives and he's just destroying all of their relationships with people, uh, just to get back at them because he didn't feel like he was included enough in their throuple.

[00:22:42] And so I feel like that's what this is, but I have to say a lot of people would say apocalypse now, but I want to say apocalypse. Wow. Oh God. Uh, this, this version of Abin Sur is just, he has three snap. Oh man.

[00:23:10] Um, you're going to watch this whole season of 97 and you're going to be thinking in the back of your head. They were a throuple. They were a throuple. And you're never, you're never going to see him the same again. I almost want to put a poll in the chat right now and say, do you guys think that they were a throuple? Uh, so good.

[00:23:34] Uh, he was just their twink and he wanted more than that. Oh God. Uh, guys, if season, like he wants their kids. That's all bad. All right. If season one was a resurrection season two, it looks like a full scale mutant war. Uh, that is it for a fashion.

[00:24:00] Uh, that is it for, uh, our Marvel side of the, uh, of, of the game here. Uh, so ladies and gentlemen, it is now time for watching the watchtower. Let's talk about this DC news we got going on here. Oh, I was just doing more. I don't know. I'm in, I'm in it. I'm feeling that the muse has hit me. All right. So look who's back. Back again. Gotham is officially back in motion.

[00:24:30] And the first glimpse from the set may have revealed more than Warner Brothers intended. Production has begun on the Batman part two. And the first leaked set photo appears to tease a potential villain presence. Sparking immediate speculation about who Matt Reeves is bringing into Robert Pattinson's next chapter.

[00:24:55] If this tease is real, Gotham's rogues gallery might be expanding in a big way. So the photo, it's a mysterious figure in a long coat, prompting theories that range from hush to scarecrow. Cause they both wear that. Uh, and then I'll, I mean, but it could be several other people too. There's a lot of people that wear coats in Gotham. Cause it's, it rains a lot.

[00:25:24] Matt Reeves has emphasized a grounded psychological approach to the sequel. And Robert Pattinson is returning obviously as Bruce Wayne, continuing that noir driven arc from the first film. Um, it is premiering or it's supposed to like premiere in theaters on October 1st of 2027. And if they're starting now, they should have enough time. So that's cool. As long as there's not.

[00:25:51] And if it's grounded, there's probably not going to be a lot of, well, no, it is still Batman. Anyway, I'm going to stop talking now and let you say things. Say words, Bill. Say words. Uh, the rumor right now, it has been, so, you know, we all thought that Sebastian Stan was going to be, um, Harvey Dent, you know, and that's kind of where we're going. And then the shift when they said, oh, he's not going to play Harvey Dent, uh, the shift went to, okay, well maybe he's going to play Hush. The rumor right now is he's actually playing Victor Zaz.

[00:26:21] Yeah. I, I really feel like they shouldn't use. Sad. Cause you know, I, I know Sebastian, so we're close. Seb. That's the nickname you have for him, Seb. That's what everybody calls him, Seb. Okay. So anyway, Seb deserves to be in more than just like, I, hmm.

[00:26:50] Victor Zaz, I have issues with Victor Zaz because I feel like he is a lowlife criminal and a lower scale villain that gets hyped up a little bit too much and doesn't deserve to be a main villain. And I feel like if you're going to hire Sebastian Stan, Seth, then he should be a main tier villain if he's going to be a villain. I hear that.

[00:27:17] So I, that's why I'm like, I don't, I don't like him being Victor Zaz. I like him being, uh, Hush or, uh, but I mean, he doesn't really fit Hush because Thomas Elliott is a ginger. So they should have a ginger in that role. And there are plenty of gingers out there. So let's not do that. Let's just have a ginger. Um, but you know, I don't mind Hush. I don't mind him being Scarecrow.

[00:27:47] I don't mind him being, um, two face. I don't like, I don't mind any of that. I feel like he would be a really good Harvey Dent. It's just now at this point, I want to know who's going to play Harvey Dent. Yeah. I, I think he would be a good Harvey Dent. Harvey Dent is a double-edged sword, which is very funny because, you know, this whole, uh, but he really is because it is so hard to get him right.

[00:28:12] Either he's too clownish or he's too grotesque or he's too, it's, it, they don't, it's like they haven't gotten that the exact right, like balance that they should. And a lot, a lot of Batman's rogues have that same psychological, uh, duality that Bruce does.

[00:28:40] And so you really have to know where those lines are to get them correct, to get them right. I haven't disliked any of the two faces. Well, Tommy Lee Jones was a little much, but I haven't really disliked the, like the two faces portrayals, like especially in Batman animated. I loved how they did him in that, but they had a longer time. They had a slower burn on that. And I'd love to see something like that. Anyway. Okay. I'm done. I'm done with that.

[00:29:11] I had a lot to say. I didn't even know I had that in me. Let's go ahead and move on. Okay. Let's go. Let's do the next one. It's mine as well. Oh, I'm really excited about this. Okay. Supergirl is all about vintage vibes. The DCU's new Kryptonian isn't just stepping into a legacy. She's wearing it. A new behind the scenes reveal shows that Millie Alcock's costume for Supergirl includes a subtle

[00:29:37] but meaningful design connection to Christopher Reeve's Superman, tying James Gunn's reboot directly to the franchise's most iconic era. If this suits any indication, the DCU is embracing legacy while forging something new. Yeah. So, apparently, the suit's S shield shape mirrors the Reeve era curvature. So, that S is a little bit different than Clark's. Right.

[00:30:04] And costume designer, Judiana Makowski, reportedly pushed for, like, classic Kryptonian lineage cues, too. So, and then, I mean, obviously, the way that they're setting this up, and I said this, I did see the Supergirl trailer. I did watch that because, hello, it's Supergirl. I'm going to watch it. Right.

[00:30:28] And I said, after we watched that trailer, I said, I think Supergirl, the Supergirl movie is what Captain Marvel should have been. I can, yeah. No, I can see that. Because I feel like those characters, when Carol took over as Captain Marvel, when she was Miss Marvel, those characters were very similar.

[00:30:54] Their power ranges, how they, you know, how they were portrayed, how, you know, they were really strong, but they didn't want to seem too strong, and, you know, just that kind of stuff. And so, and they had a lot of crap happen to them, you know, I mean, Carol got kissed by Rogue, and then she took everything. So, you know, and Supergirl, that whole angel-demon thing, I mean, we all know that was a mistake.

[00:31:22] So, I, you know, they've been through some shit. They both have. So, I really feel like this Supergirl movie is what Captain Marvel should have been, and so I'm really excited for it. And because of that, I do think that Alcott, Supergirl, being positioned as a major pillar in the DCU is going to be really interesting to see. Yeah. Anyway, what do you think?

[00:31:51] I'm really excited for this movie. This is one of those movies that was my, like, one of my high-anticipation movies for the summer. You know, my first one was Masters of the Universe, and that blew every expectation out of the water for me. So, Supergirl is, like, another massive one on, probably a higher level than even that. And I'm hoping that, you know, it follows the comic the way that I want it to in a way

[00:32:19] where, you know, we're still getting something new, but it's still a good adaptation. We're not, like, bastardizing the story kind of thing. Mm-hmm. And so far, the way the trailers look, the way that everything's been kind of, like, presented seems very well done, and I'm excited to see what the outcome of it is going to be. And then all the new, or, like, all the early reviews have all been just giving it nothing but praise. It makes me that much more excited about it, you know?

[00:32:47] So, and then knowing that Millie Alcox, her entire, the shield on her chest is based on Christopher Reeves, and we're getting that connection, like, that nostalgic connection makes me that even, like, I appreciate the small, subtle things like that. Absolutely. That's what we want. That's what we want with Supergirl. I mean, she, some of these characters are really hard to do.

[00:33:16] They really are. And, and I think it's also because with Supergirl, the comics didn't know what to do with her for so long. Like, they just were like, well, let's try this. Well, let's try that. Let's make her really mad. She's just mad all the time. Oh, let's make her super naive. You know, it's just like, just how about make her, you know, a person? How about that? How about a person? That'd be kind of cool.

[00:33:44] But, sorry, I went off on a soapbox. I apologize. But, yeah, no, I'm really excited about this. I feel like they're really dialing into her power and that this is going to be an origin movie almost for her, even though we already know who she is, you know? So I really enjoy that. And I think we're going to see some depth to Supergirl that we haven't seen before.

[00:34:14] All right. Supergirl lives into theaters on June 26, 2026. A little over a week. A little over a week. I know. I know. Oh, I got to go throw up. No, I'm just kidding. All right. So this next story, we're going to fly into this next story. Capcom is salivating right meow. Right meow. So, DCU's architect is finally shedding light on the emotional core of his first Superman film.

[00:34:42] James Gunn explained why Superman and Brainiac have beef. Beef. Beef? I don't know why I said beef. Hinting that their conflict in Superman Man of Tomorrow will be rooted in ideology and identity rather than simple villainy. So if Gunn pulls this rabbit out of his hat, this could redefine Superman's cinematic mythology.

[00:35:08] So some of the things about this are like, so Gunn says that Brainiac represents control while Superman represents compassion. I think he might have been trying a little too hard with the C2C. But, you know, whatever. He's a writer. He's going to do his thing. The dynamic may explore like more of Kal-El's like past that we kind of got a little bit

[00:35:35] of a hint of, like who the Kryptonians really were. That we kind of, because that message, is that message real? Is it not? We really didn't get a definitive answer on it if it was or not. It was just more like, hey, they're your parents, but you don't have to be what they want you to be kind of thing. But how Brainiac also sees Krypton and Kryptonians.

[00:36:02] And then also Brainiac really like dialing up the sci-fi and the like universal view of the DC universe instead of just, hey, here's on Earth because we're kind of, you know, Earth-centric on this planet. So, yeah. But that's some of the stuff. I think it's interesting. What do you think?

[00:36:29] I'm really interested in seeing which version of Brainiac we're going to get because there are multiple versions of Brainiac from the comics. My favorite version of Brainiac is always the one that was Krypton's supercomputer. Right. And he saves himself. That one was cool. Yeah. And then like he saves himself when everything is getting destroyed. So he knows Kryptonians better than anyone.

[00:36:55] But just because the way time is not linear, he spends like centuries traveling around and conquering worlds and for his quest for knowledge. But because he doesn't want new knowledge to escape, he destroys the world so that he has the only knowledge of an existence of this extinct world that he destroyed.

[00:37:23] And it's like, you know, he gets to Earth and it's this crazy thing where it's like, you know, Clark, you know, came to Earth as an infant. But over this time, somehow Brainiac has spent millennia traveling around the universe, destroying everything. And somehow he's like 10,000 years older than Clark, even though they left Krypton at the same time, which is I mean, the time thing still kind of works in the same way, because

[00:37:52] if you look at the way Supergirl's whole storyline is, it's almost the same thing where time is not linear. And technically, Clark is younger than Supergirl, but he's older than her when she arrives on Earth. You know, so it's like like I said, it's this whole thing where they mess with time. Yeah. Yeah. And I enjoy that storyline because it makes Brainiac that much more of a threat. I mean, I don't know.

[00:38:21] Like, I like that he was that they like did the what he's from Colu and there are others there and they're all this kind of like I mean, that's when Star Trek was really popular and they wanted to kind of cash in a little, I think, on that Legion of Superheroes, I believe, was kind of like that, too. Like, hey, it's the future. We're all to get together as a team and, you know, that kind of stuff. But anyway, going down the comic book rabbit hole.

[00:38:51] But no, I love Brainiac as a villain. I think it shows that Superman's not just a himbo. You know what I mean? Like, he's not just the brawn. He's the brains, too. Yeah. Because in order to be able to defeat Brainiac, he has to outsmart him in a certain way and

[00:39:17] in a human way, obviously, you know, a non-Android. I don't know. What the hell is Brainiac? Sometimes I feel like he's an android and sometimes I think, well, he's just a sentient being. Just in that kind of context. He's an AI. For the most part, he's an AI. That is kind of like the main thing about him is that he is an AI that has evolved to a point where, you know, he has a body and he is corporeal and everything like that. But he is generally a self-reliant AI.

[00:39:47] And his whole thing is the same thing that everybody's afraid of when it comes to AI is at what point does AI become so intelligent that it realizes humanity is a threat? And that's kind of what he is, is he is this AI that realizes not just humanity, but beings in general are a threat to themselves. And the only way to preserve knowledge is to kill off a race, but learn everything that he can about it.

[00:40:15] Like, it's such an evil thing, but at the same time, it's not so much evil as it is just cold. He's just a librarian. He kind of is. That's kind of what he is. And that's why I like the version of the story where they made him Krypton central knowledge computer, because it feeds into the fact that he is just a massive librarian. Yeah. And he would know the ship of Theseus. That's all I'm going to say. Yeah, absolutely. Would know the ship of Theseus.

[00:40:45] All right. So it says Man of Tomorrow flies into theaters on July 9th of 2027. So they best be getting this on the road. It's filming right now because there have been leaks off of the set. Yeah. Like all like the last couple of weeks. So. Yes. Yes. And Alan Tudyk stood me up again for it. Alan, you get one more chance, bro. I don't know if he does. Jewel will be at my wedding.

[00:41:15] I know that. All right. So I've got something to say to you, Phil. Fight me, fanboy. My fucking man. My man. I can't do the Momoa thing. My man. All right. The main man himself is drawing a line in the sand and it's painted in heavy metal.

[00:41:37] Jason Momoa says he won't make a solo Lobo, solo Lobo movie unless it's R rated, insisting that the character's tone, violence and attitude demand a fully unrestrained approach. And I agree. So Momoa or Lobo Mowa calls an R rating the only way to do Lobo justice. His casting has been heavily rumored.

[00:42:06] Well, I mean, he's he's Lobo. But I guess they're saying like he's in the trailer. Yeah, I know. Like, but I guess they're saying that, you know, the the film has been like a solo film has been rumored. Oh, gotcha. Yeah. I was going to say they just did like a whole thing with they just put out the whole introduction of Lobo and Supergirl online. And like officially, not like as a not as a as a leak. It was official. Yeah. Yeah. No.

[00:42:36] And he he actually talks in one of the trailers. I mean, it's like, you know, it's frickin Momoa as Lobo. Yeah. I mean, it's a hello. Either that or he's in a frickin kiss cover band or something. Oh, anyway. But an R rated Lobo. I mean, it would align with guns willingness to explore more like adult stuff like with Peacemaker. So it's not like it hasn't been done for. I mean, he was the first guy to say the F word in Marvel.

[00:43:06] So come on, y'all. But yeah, I mean, this is basically pie in the sky. Okay. So. But if it were greenlit, Lobo could become the wildest character in the DCU. I pretty much agree with this. My thing with Lobo is I want Lobo to be the one dude in a rated R movie that doesn't cuss.

[00:43:33] And the reason is because I want him to use his cuss words, not the cuss words that we know, because they gave him his own set of cuss words in the comics. Yeah. Right. I want I don't want him to say fuck. I want him to hear. I want to hear him say frag the entire time. Yeah. Frag. And what was the one? There's another one that he says all the time. Yeah. That is. I'm trying to ridiculous word. I can't remember. He's got a. Well, remember. Cuss words.

[00:44:03] And it's like, you know, let him have his own cuss words. I do not want him doing like regular human cussing as much as I'm OK with that. The reason I don't is because it is something that is intrinsically tied to that character. I think it would be funny if they. Yeah. If they were. If it were an R rated movie and there were cursing and there's one scene where he says fuck one and it's like he says it and then he goes. That's a nonsense word. What's that? What?

[00:44:33] And then he's like, start. He's like, what the frag are you talking about? Like, it's really upset about it. And he's like, ah, that even tastes weird in my mouth. Like, you know, that kind of thing. And then just and then he never says another curse word again. Like, that's it. Make a big deal about him not cursing. Yeah. And I mean, like, I feel like there is a level of of that as well. Like, if you like I had another joke that was in my head where I felt like, you know, would

[00:45:02] be really good is if he goes. He says frag and someone goes, wait, do you mean fuck? And he's like, the hell is a fuck? Yeah. Yeah. See that that would be perfect. That would be the best thing. And then he's like, ah, no. Frag. You know, like shouting out to TGT media right now. Hey, guys, feels like I was just staring at you for for a few hours editing. All right. Anything else on this Lobo?

[00:45:33] Lollapalooza? No. Again, the thing I want down the road is I want that Deathstroke versus Lobo movie eventually. Such a good. I want a Deadpool versus Lobo. That would be fun. I really just want a Momoa and Ryan Reynolds team up movie. That's really all I want. That would be fun. But again, I love the idea of because in the comics when they did Lobo versus Deathstroke, it was so good.

[00:46:01] I want to I want to see that on screen and just see what see how they build those fight scenes would be really fun. Yeah, absolutely. No, I I would love I love Deathstroke and I love Lobo. So I'm on there. Take my money. Shut up. Yeah. All right. So next, they're taking back Amazon Bezos. I know it's it's Bezos, but I wanted to say it incorrectly as more humiliation. All right.

[00:46:30] The Amazons are officially back on the island and the new creative direction is taking shape in the clay. Writer Anna Noguera confirmed she is actively scripting the Wonder Woman reboot for the DCU and shared early insight into her creative approach, emphasizing mythology, emotional grounding and a fresh thematic identity. So she says she's focused on Diana's humanity and her Amazonian heritage, which, hey, I'm

[00:47:00] all about that. The reboot is expected to be disconnected from the previous DC. Like the we're not getting Gal Gadot back. Right. OK, I'm just let me just rip that bandaid right off. She's not coming back. James Gunn has teased more mythic world building heavy take on Themyscira, which I would love that. Let me see some architecture. No release date obviously has been set because they're still writing the script.

[00:47:30] But if the script delivers, Wonder Woman could become the heart of the DCU's next era. Oh, you would love that. That would be that would be the only way to to redeem anything. DC in your eyes is just center everything around Wonder Woman. Well, you have to I mean, like, look, so there's the Trinity, right? So you've got Batman is the the brain, right? Right.

[00:47:55] He's like the logic and the cold, like, yeah, the cold logic. And you've got Superman, who's the soul. He is the soul of the group. And you've got Wonder Woman and she's the heart. She's the heart of the group. She's got, you know, if somebody's controlling her buddy, Superman, she gonna crack their neck. She gonna kill him. It's just gonna happen because she's the heart.

[00:48:23] She's like she does what needs to be done. And and that, you know, and then Batman with the OMAX. Batman did the OMAX because he's the cold logic. And Superman came back from the dead because he's the soul. I made it work. There you go. So I don't know what I was going for there. Yeah. Yeah. I so where I where I want to see Wonder Woman. I love that they're going like deep into the mythology.

[00:48:52] I love that they're going to be doing, you know, more on the world building around Themyscira. I love the idea of making everything kind of like, you know, you make it a world within a world kind of thing. Right. Like you have an entire storyline about Themyscira and the history of Themyscira. And that lives within DC's architecture and their entire structure.

[00:49:15] What I want to see, what I would like to see is if they revisit her origin, I want her origin to be similar to what it was in D.C. in the D.C. EU. I really like the way they merged her to origin stories where, you know. Oh, yeah. Like that. The clay was just her mom telling her a story. But she's actually the daughter of Zeus, right?

[00:49:42] Like and like I love that, you know, she's like a legitimate demigod and not just a creature that was breathed into clay, you know, because I feel like that gives her a lot more legitimacy. I also feel like that gives her a deeper connection to characters like Ares, to characters like Hades down the road to like all the different gods. Because she's not just, you know, this Amazonian strong character. Like, you know, she is tied intrinsically to the gods.

[00:50:08] And I feel like that is the best way to tell her story because it makes that much more compelling. Yeah, absolutely. I do think that keeping her origin more like, hey, guess what? Mom had sex with the god. You know, I mean, that makes more sense than she made you out of clay. And Zeus breathed the life into her. Right. Which is basically the same thing. Kind of.

[00:50:37] She has, she was, she had the divine stuff. So, yeah, I mean, I, the time that Wonder Woman was first introduced, you couldn't talk about sex. Right. So, yeah, you made the baby out of clay. And a magic sky god, daddy, mom came down. And gave life to that clay. And that's it. Yeah, that's how you did it.

[00:51:06] Because you didn't talk about sex back then. Right. So now, yeah, I don't have a problem with updating it to make it make sense. And that does. So hopefully they'll find something on, on that. I know Historia is, has been a big part of it. And that's like the Amazons before Wonder Woman. Oops, sorry. And so I, I know that that's what Anna's been looking like. She's been going through that.

[00:51:32] And I think Wonder Woman year one is also something that she's going through. Both of those are excellent sources. That person just announced it online, too. You can look that up. But just quick thoughts on that. What do you think? I think it's going to be great.

[00:55:47] have joined the cast of Only Murders in the Building, season six signaling one of the show's biggest ensemble expansions yet. A whole lot of fun with this. I would be the idea of this again. We expanded a lot on it on Geek Freaks last night. So when the Geek Freaks episode comes out, I believe tomorrow, guys, make sure you check that check that episode out and you can hear kind of like an expanded thought process and all that going on. I think it's kind of funny and kind of cool.

[00:56:16] And you got a couple of Harry Potter people. You got a couple of Doctor Who people. Right. You have two doctors. Yep. Yeah. Well, they're the same doctor, but two different two actors who have played the doctor. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Because that that's a sentence that makes sense. And then the last headline here. [00:56:45] Actor Steve Toussaint says he's heard promising internal updates about HBO's The Sea Snake, the Game of Thrones spinoff centered for Coralus Valerian, suggesting the project is gaining momentum behind the scenes. I want this. I want to see an entire show about nothing but The Sea Snake. The Sea Snake was such a interesting character.

[00:57:11] And I believe he deserves his own show, especially given that the way that the character was portrayed on the show. Like, I'm all for this. I'm for more Game of Thrones spinoffs. But as long as they stay within canon. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think they redeemed themselves with Night of the Seven Kingdoms. I felt like that was really a good adaptation.

[00:57:33] And so it makes me a little bit, I don't know, more hopeful for like a Sea Snake thing. I do. I really love Steve Toussaint as Coralus Valerian. He was so good. So good. He brings a lot of gravitas. He brings a lot of gravitas, especially as Coralus. He like, you, every time that he delivered a line, you felt it in your chest.

[00:58:01] Like that was, he gave that kind of like the line delivery. Like he's that good of an actor. I would love to see him portray Othello. Yeah. Oh my God. If he played the Moor, that would be great. He would. Oh, he would just. Yeah. He would knock that out. Anyway, we got way off on that. But no, I, you know, I loved all of that. So I love Game of Thrones stuff.

[00:58:26] And it's not, it's tangentially connected to the Targaryens, but it's more, you know, a swashbuckling adventure with the Sea Snake. And I'm wondering if maybe the Sea Snake is because he had some illegitimate children. That's possible. That's possible. And then, and then, and then his. Sorry, but I was like, Sea Snake. I was like, maybe the boat isn't what they named.

[00:58:55] That's not why he's named the Sea Snake. And then his actual son doesn't actually have any children, even though he has children, but they're not actually his children. Right. Exactly. That is another sentence that makes sense. He's got no actual grandchildren, which kind of sucks for him, but. But he does. He does. But they're not actually his. Right. But they haven't, he's not blood related. Yeah. Yeah. They're barely Valerian. All right. Let's.

[01:01:22] Middle Earth just added one of Hollywood's most distinctive performers to its expanding cinematic poster. Anya Taylor-Joy has joined the Lord of the Rings, the hunt for Gollum, and a brand, and she's a brand new elf, Saren. Marking the first major casting edition since production began under Andy Serkis. So, she's original. She's not from Tolkien.

[01:01:50] Like, her character Saren is not from Tolkien's books. Uh, and I guess she's, like, connected to the Lee Pace's character, Thanduel? Thranduil? Uh, Thranduil. I don't know. Legolas' dad. Yeah. Uh, and then Andy Serkis is gonna continue playing Gollum while he's directing, uh, and they're

[01:02:15] saying that this could be the launchpad for the new, like, Lord of the Rings IP initiative. So, I don't know. What do you think? I think she's made to be an elf, to be honest with you. I, I, I, I'm fine with Anya Taylor-Joy. I'm, I'm, I'm fine with any character that she plays, especially in, in, in action. She, she does really well with action characters and everything like that.

[01:02:39] What I am not 100% with, um, is, I, I shouldn't be, you know, completely averted to non-canon, Lord of the Rings stories, like, things that are not part of the original canon. But, I mean, at the same time, it's like, I am willing to see new interpretations and stories that expand the universe.

[01:03:05] But it's like, do we really need a movie that is just the hunt for Gollum? Like, I, I feel like this is them cashing in and doing, hey, we, Lord of the Rings does well. We should do more Lord of the Rings. But it's like, there's material that you guys can do that you're not doing and you're choosing to do original stories, you know, in the vein of, let's make a movie, a book

[01:03:33] that is only worth one movie into three movies and put a bunch of fluff in. Right. Yeah. You know, like, it's, the Hobbit should have been one good movie instead of three long movies that had nothing to do with each other. Um, and this almost feels like, I don't know if we need this. And I, I want to be proven wrong. Yeah, like, it's a prequel to the Lord of the Rings that we don't really need because the Lord of the Rings is so long, it's its own prequel. Yeah.

[01:04:02] I'm like, I want to be proven wrong. I want to, I want this to be something that is like, oh, this was actually really good and it adds to the lore. But at the same time, it's like, you guys have so much that you can do. There is so much that you can expand on from the Cimmerillion that is good enough on its own. You know, like, I would be okay with them taking one of the short stories from the Cimmerillion and expanding on that.

[01:04:30] At least that's something that is written in the canon already. Yeah, no, I, you know, I, I, I think it'll be cool for her to be in it. I think it'll be a grand adventure. I think it'll be fantastic. But yeah, I don't know if we need it. I would rather dig into the lore that's already there that we have yet to explore. But, you know, we'll see what happens because, you know, Lord of the Rings, the hunt for Gollum arrives in theaters on December 17th of 2027.

[01:05:00] This next story I'm excited for, though. Yeah. Okay. So Wanderlust in the Wasteland, Fallout style. So Prime Video's breakout hit is gearing up to go deeper into the lore that fans have been waiting to see. Showrunners for Fallout confirmed that season three will finally tap into several long-teased elements from the video game series, expanding the wasteland's geography and introducing new factions.

[01:05:29] So they're saying that they're unlocking storylines that they held back in seasons one and two. Now, season three is expected to, like, broaden the show's map, like, introduce new vault-related mysteries and different things like that. But, uh, and then the series can, it's obviously, it's huge right now. So, and I have finally started watching it. Yay. Yay. So don't tell me what happened. I will not.

[01:05:58] I will not. And there's no release date yet, obviously, for the third season. But I think it's great that they're doing a third season. I do enjoy all of the actors in it. And the, I love the, the setting and, and how it's like this just desolate land. And it, they're just kind of, you know, it's like they're palling around with each other and he's a ghoul and she's not. And, you know, it's just like, what?

[01:06:27] And then there's a dude that his whole, like, self-worth is tied into this, like, Iron Man suit, basically. So. If you, if you, if you get into the games, you start to realize kind of like the whole big thing with the power armor and the power suits. Like, there's a, there's like, it's, it basically has its own lore.

[01:06:52] Um, and it's in season two, they kind of expand on that lore a little bit more. So I'm not going to spoil anything for you, but once you do get into season two, they do, uh, expand a lot on, you know, the history of where that comes from, which is kind of cool. Um, yeah. But at the same time, like where I want to see this go, I, I would love to see them expand on the, on, on the lore and kind of everything that's going into this.

[01:07:19] Uh, I want to see, everybody's been waiting for fallout five, right? Like there's memes all over the place. Like, oh yeah. Obsidian still not coming out with fallout five. Um, what I want to see is them introduce elements in the show that become things in the games. Yeah. That'd be really cool. I would love that. I've always thought that that is where, especially like fandom stuff, you should have things that

[01:07:47] integrate back and forth. Like it, it's just really interesting. Like I loved that, uh, with Buffy, the, uh, the site that she uses in the last season of Buffy originally was in the comic book Fray, the like Fray comics that, and that's where they got it, it was actually from like the first layer and they kind of explain it in

[01:08:17] the comics. And then that's what she uses Malika Fray. And then it shows up with Buffy. So they integrated it back. And I just thought that was just like the coolest thing ever, ever, ever, ever. I did actually see this. I didn't get to hold it because I was too afraid, but I did see it. And it was amazing. Anyway, sorry. Yeah. Like I, I want to see something, like I said, where they introduced the lore, this lore in

[01:08:45] the show, it becomes a thing in the games, uh, vice versa. Like I want to see them kind of like feed off of each other. Like I really want this show to be something that, that really lives in the games that really tells these stories, uh, that take place in that universe where you can make references to the, to the show in the games and vice versa, uh, in Fallout 76, because Fallout 76, uh, takes

[01:09:10] place like not too long after the bombs drop and like not too long after the incident that turns the world into what it is. Um, they, uh, in, in Fallout 76, they introduce, uh, um, the, uh, the ghoul, the, the, the character from the show, he's in the game, they, they, they put him in, in DLC, uh, and they tell

[01:09:36] a story about him earlier on, like, like a story from his early days. Cause by the time the show happens, he's been around for a hundred years. So it's like, you know, um, it's, it's one of the earlier stories because they're like, Hey, we can tell this story because this game takes place like 75 years before the events of the show. Okay. Oh, that's cool. You know? So I kind of thought that that was a cool thing to do where, you know, again, they're taking,

[01:10:05] because he was so popular, they're taking these elements from the show and saying, we can put it in the game. And now you have another story that you can play through that the ghoul was a part of, you know? So it's like, I want to see more of that where the show feeds off the game. Obviously it already does, but then the game starts taking elements from the show and adding it into the games. And if they're going to be creating new factions, they're going to be creating new lore. If they're going to be expanding on existing lore and everything like that, then I want

[01:10:35] to see, you know, Bethesda go and take some of that and say, Oh, this faction's dope. We're putting it in the next game. Yeah. That would be amazing. That would be amazing. Well, we won't know what's happening for season three cause they haven't announced it yet, but if it does lean deeper into the game lore, it could become one of the most ambitious chapters yet. And who knows what we'll get from the game to put in the games like Phil said.

[01:11:05] You did say that, right? Yes. That's what you're going for with that. Yeah. That's exactly what I was going for. That's it. Okay, cool. All right. So let's just switch gears here and we'll get our sonic screwdrivers out because this is how we get Cybermen doctor. The TARDIS is slowing down as. The D that's the D as the BBC recalibrates one of its longest running franchises. The BBC is preparing a significant creative overhaul for Dr.

[01:11:32] Who resulting in a longer than usual hiatus as producers take their time deciding the direction of the next era. So insiders say that the BBC isn't rushing to greenlight new episodes. Duh. And the pause is being allowed for reevaluation of tone, structure, and long-term plans like storytelling.

[01:11:57] Recent seasons have experimented with format and pacing prompting internal reassessment. These sound like really big words for saying we're going to probably cancel it, but we don't want to tell anybody that yet. So no return day for Dr. Who has been set. So we actually, again, we talked about this extensively on Geek Freaks last night. Uh, and the big thing is it's not so much that they are canceling.

[01:12:27] They basically specifically said they are not canceling the show. That is not what's happening at all. Uh, they are, uh, they, they did confirm that they are not doing the Christmas special because they, uh, somebody had said, well, they're, they're going to do a Christmas special. And they said, no, we're not doing Christmas special. So don't, don't get excited for that. It's not something we're doing. Um, they are letting go of Russell T Davies, Davis, Russell T Davies. Uh, and that's it's Davies.

[01:12:56] You were right the first time. Okay. So yeah, they are getting, they're, they're going to let go of Russell T Davies. Uh, and, uh, the big thing is they are, they are, uh, looking for a new network to partner with. They don't want to do global partnership with Disney anymore. Um, so what we were discussing last night was if they're looking for another studio, uh, we started talking about, okay, well, what studio do we think they could partner with globally?

[01:13:22] And again, as much as we have our disagreements with Amazon, Amazon does a really good job of taking, uh, uh, like fandom shows and living within their universes and making them like doing enough fan service that people enjoy what they're doing. But then also, like, I mean the whole studio was built because Bezos was upset that they,

[01:13:52] uh, canceled the expanse and decided I'm going to buy a movie studio so that I can make new episodes of the expanse. And he actually improved the show. So the whole thing is, you know, and then again, we have shows like they, they do really well with fandom shows. Again, they, they've done really well with fallout. Uh, they did a really good job. No, they don't do really well with all the fandom shows because of wheel of time.

[01:14:18] Shall we talk about wheel of time? Are you trying to get me to not talk about wheel of time? I'm, I'm just, uh, you knew it was coming when you said Amazon, you knew it was coming, but they've canceled. They've canceled a lot of shows that have been good though. Like again, they canceled the tick after two seasons and that show was really good. Yes. Again. But the thing is, is that when they just forgiven them for that, but then they canceled wheel

[01:14:48] of time when they do do fandom shows, they handle them well, whether they cancel it or not is different. But the thing is, is that when they do do the shows, they handle them well. And I do also, I do also respect that like with the Lord of the Rings thing, right? Where, where they do the whole, uh, you know what, the story is going to get better and whether you like it or not, stick it out for the entire story.

[01:15:15] Cause it's going to be, it's one of those things where it's, it's, it is going to over the, over the course of time is going to be appreciated more for, for, for, for what it is. And I mean, the story is getting better. I mean, as much as people complain about the first season, the story is continuously gets better. So, I mean, uh, again, the whole thing with wheel of time, I think that was just, it's the same treatment with the tick.

[01:15:43] It was a show that probably shouldn't have gotten canceled that did. Uh, but at least there is an avenue where they are trying to continue that story. You know what? I don't want to talk about it. Cause the tick, they just let go completely. And, and that just, no, I don't want to talk about wheel of time. I think Netflix. Well, yeah. If Netflix picks it up, that's on them. But I mean, they haven't yet. And that's kind of where it's been a little while and they haven't done anything with it. Yeah. Okay. Whatever.

[01:16:14] All right. Well, the, the, the, ultimately what I was saying is if anybody is going to pick up that, uh, that, that, that global distribution, uh, Amazon prime would probably be a good home for doctor who. And I'm saying Netflix, but okay. So a slower reset could reshape the future of the doctor's adventures. Yeah. I don't want to talk about wheel of time. Okay. All right.

[01:16:45] So the last story is the last of us story. Uh, why did it have to be mushroom? Why did it have to be mushrooms? Why did it have to be the mushroom? Uh, Peter Sarsgaard has joined the last of us season three, landing a key role as the series takes a brief production break to adjust scheduling and creative logistics.

[01:17:11] So his characters details are like still they're under wraps. So we don't know who he's going to play. Um, you probably have some sort of idea. I have no clue. Um, the production pause is described as temporary and not tied to delays in writing. Uh, I, I don't know. Scheduling can mean a whole bunch of things. So who knows?

[01:17:36] Uh, season three is expected to adapt major storylines from the last of us part two. Uh, and HBO is targeting a 2027 premiere for season three. So the break better be temporary because they've running out of time. It'll be interesting to see what they end up doing and kind of who he ends up playing. Um, there's a couple of different characters that Peter Sarsgaard can play, uh, within that.

[01:18:04] And, uh, I mean, some of these characters are tied to Abby. Some of them are characters that are back at home. Uh, yeah, I mean, Abby does end up becoming in the game within the game. She ends up becoming one of the main characters. So, I mean, you know, she's kind of the villain in the first half and then she, you know, again, nuanced storylines. So, um, yeah, it's, it's, it's interesting to see kind of who he ends up being. Yeah, I think so too.

[01:18:31] I think he's a good, uh, actor to kind of take up the mantle of being like a male, uh, strong male character in that show. Right. Because like they lost that with Pedro. So. Right. Right. Which again, we all knew, uh, those of us who played the games, we all knew that he was dying at the beginning of season, season two and they spoilers.

[01:18:55] And they told me, so I had been spoiled because we talked about the last of us before the show came out. Yeah. Cause I mean, that was a, that was a very, very gut wrenching, heartbreaking moment. Uh, and, and it was even more visceral in, in the show than it was in the game. And they specifically said they wanted it to be that way because they wanted you to feel

[01:19:23] that this level of despair when, when, when, when they killed Joel, you know, and, uh, and, and, and, and it makes you, it makes you hate Abby that much more, but at the same time, that makes it that much more of an emotional turn when you start realizing what her entire arc is. And it makes it that much harder to, to redeem that character for a lot of people. Yeah. Yeah. Which is ultimately what the entire storyline is.

[01:19:52] It's a redemption storyline for Abby. Yeah. Okay, cool. Thanks for spoiling it for everybody. Yeah. Yeah. Sure. Except for, you know, the billions of people who have played the game. All right. Well, even with a pause, the addition of SARS guard signals a high caliber third season ahead and thus endeth the newseth. That is right.

[01:21:13] The idea behind this whole thing is just kind of like the rights war and everything. Here's actually the synopsis of the book. Superman was created to stand for truth, justice, and the American way, yet none of those were extended to his own creators. Seeing his name on the screen mattered more to Jerry Siegel than money ever could.

[01:21:33] So that's kind of like a big thing is this whole rights battle that the original creators of Superman had over the character itself. So it's going to be interesting to bring Bill on. He had a lot of interviews and things like that with people involved in the matter and whatnot. So this is a very interesting book, and I'm excited to talk about it.
