[00:00:00] Warning! This chapter of Distance Nerding was recorded live, which means there may be strong language unsuitable for children and unusual humor, which may be unsuitable for everyone who claims to be human. Perennial discretion is advised.
[00:00:53] As of course, the only guns that you can see for those of you who are listening, I'm sorry, you don't get to see James's guns. But James's, James's guns, yeah. James's guns, that is funny.
[00:01:09] We don't know where they came from but all of a sudden James is ridiculously built. Steroids, that's where they came from. The man is just massive. Don't be jealous. All the steroids went to my stomach so it's really fired on me. The rock is jealous of the james.
[00:01:33] Yes, but if anybody's not watching and just listening, Yung Phil's got his tidy whitey shirt on. You know what's funny? This is actually a loose shirt. Ladies and gentlemen, it's Taco Tuesday. Look at me, I'm so skinny these days. I'm not losing weight. I'm definitely not losing weight.
[00:01:49] I've gained weight man and not in a good way. It's Taco Tuesday and you know what that means. You are now watching and listening and experiencing distance nerding. Part of the Comic Con radio podcast family. Yeah, she still doesn't understand the... Total. Total. There you go.
[00:02:09] It's Jen from Frey Comics. He's been stuck on Isla Nublar for three weeks. That's Shaddo. That is true. He's been learning to... Excuse me. He's been learning the sling ring with Wong. It's Jabez 5000. And he wants to yabba-dabba-don't. It's Yung Phil. Absolutely.
[00:02:31] We're here to nerd together, even though we can't do it together for the 184th time. No, we can't do it together. You know what we can do together is come fresh to death with our new hairdos, everybody. Everybody here has a new haircut and I don't know.
[00:02:50] It just happened that way. My doctor's shrink is coming out. Sling ring. Sling ring. We're talking anything. Pop culture. News, movies, music, food, wrestling. Comic cons. Toes, Comic cons. Whatever you're nerding out on. We want to talk about it.
[00:03:13] Of course, follow us on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, threads, YouTube, Discord, all at distance nerding. And of course, if you would like to shoot us an email, you can shoot us an email at everybody's favorite place to do emails. DIST. Is that a new shirt? Oh look, graphics.
[00:03:31] Finally, the graphics team got it changed. No, it is cut off a little bit though. There we go. That's good. That's good. That's going to downsize the graphics department. Let half of them go before they unionize.
[00:03:46] It's nerding at aol.com and we will read it live on air. Ladies and gentlemen, how are we doing guys? Doing good. How are you doing? Oh, I'm great. I'm doing good, man. We were just talking about this, but it's a huge week.
[00:04:00] Metal Arc Comic Con is about to be here. SDCC is going to have all the news in a little bit. I don't know if you saw the Deadpool and Wolverine premiere in New York last night, but it was awesome.
[00:04:12] I know we had a bunch of friends that were there. No, we had so if I was watching it live because shout out to Cam, Cam posted it for us and were like, Oh, thanks, Cam. Appreciate that.
[00:04:21] So I clicked on it and I'm sitting there watching like, Oh look, there's Logan and his dad Emmanuel just hanging out right behind on the red carpet. And then like the very next scene is like, Oh shit, is that Albie? Yeah.
[00:04:33] And when they cut the other guy outside and I'll be sitting out here, like, Hey, these guys know where to, where to be. They said it was amazing. We were talking to both of them. We were talking to Albie and talking to Manuel and Logan and,
[00:04:44] and they said it was an incredible time, probably the best red carpet they've ever done. And they go to all the red carpets, all the red carpets done in LA. So they said it was like the best one and the movie delivered. Yeah. I'm hearing.
[00:04:58] People are saying it's, it's actually really good. And like, it's not like the trailers don't spoil. Yes. Any of the big stuff. Like it's not like there's a lot still to discover and so I'm pretty happy about that. Yeah.
[00:05:12] I love hearing that the trailers didn't spoil anything because like you feel like there's a lot that happens in the trailer and it's like, God, they gave us everything. And from what I'm hearing everybody saying no, there's you did not, they didn't spoil anything in these
[00:05:25] trailers that there's barely anything in the trailers that even are consequential and that means so much. Yeah. Everything I hear about it is that it's a love letter for comments. I agree, but I want to go ahead and let's put a pin in this
[00:05:38] because I think we have a story about. We do. And we can talk about that when I feel like we're going to talk about this again then. Yeah. Let's just like move into the next thing. Of course. Get into that. We'll have that dead pool and Wolverine.
[00:05:51] Before we do that. That's good. It's organization. Who's got tickets already? I didn't get them in time. We're going to try and see if I can. And that guy. Yeah, I'm going to try and see if I can hit a theater. We're going Friday at one. Yeah.
[00:06:07] But we doing the movie this weekend, I'm hoping Delong. Well, I mean, we're going to be in Oregon this weekend along family cosplay, but I mean, let's see if we can maybe Friday night, see if we can, if we can like sneak in some tickets.
[00:06:20] You can't go Friday night. Why? We'll be driving. We'll be there. Yeah. So you mean go to Oregon and then go see the movie? Yeah. Oh, okay. I thought you mean like, oh, let's hang out for a little bit and then watch. And you're like, no, you're not.
[00:06:35] No, no, no. After when we get to Oregon, man. No, absolutely not. They have movie theaters in Oregon. Yeah, that's exactly. They have movie theaters in Medford specifically. It seems like a foreign country. Do they, do they make like one of the people working
[00:06:49] there, like feed you the popcorn kind of like how, James, how like when you go get gas, you have to have somebody else pump your gas. James, we're like that. They got a pump, they got a pump your gas and they got a pop.
[00:06:59] They have flavor popcorn though. James, that's what I'm saying. Didn't we go watch the Batman in Oregon? Yeah. And didn't somebody have to feed me popcorn? It was really weird. I don't know where your hands have been. That's what I'm saying.
[00:07:12] I think specifically me and James went to go see the Batman in Medford, Oregon. And he's like, do they have theaters in Oregon? Like, yeah, we saw, we literally saw the Batman in Oregon, dude. Some, some dude fed me popcorn. I don't even know if he worked there.
[00:07:27] And that dude Robert Pattinson. Absolutely. And that's how we met. We'll be in known. I was going to say big chin, but okay. That's how we met. We knew. Shout out to Wayne. He'll be a say Wong saying he thought we were going to be at SDCC.
[00:07:45] Dude, we wish we could be at SDCC, man. Yeah. That would be, that would be the dream is, is getting over to SDCC. Anyways, that's what we should do like one year. Yeah. Yeah. Celebrating like five years of us, like doing this
[00:07:59] all together, like all four of us and we'll all meet up at San Diego Comic Con. I'm down. I'm in. I don't have to be five years. Let's do four years. Yeah. It's two or four years. Oh my God. Yeah.
[00:08:11] Well with that all being said, because we will, we will derail for the rest of the year. Let's get into this guy's this week on deck. We have a show. We've got the geek and update. The key. Here. Metal Arcus here. Metal Arcus here. My wallet.
[00:08:26] My wallet was stolen. You're watching the download. God. Starting rumors. Oh, wait, you're not doing the thing. We did the intro. I didn't realize it wasn't on the screen. Keep going. Let's go. Starting rumors. Oh, are the rumors? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Starting.
[00:08:45] Oh, are the Russo brothers getting unsnapped? Unsnapped. Unsnapped. Oh, Matt in the chat saying he's covering NXT, but he wanted to come by and say hi. Matt, I, Matt, you should talk to Matt. Matt, jump in here.
[00:08:56] We'll send you a link because I know Kobe is an SD in San Diego for Comic Con. I know Brandon Davis is an SD for Comic Con and Brandon Davis went to the Deadpool premiere. I saw him very jealous to him.
[00:09:09] But Matt, are you going to power Morphincon? Come on, buddy. The download. The download. I know. I was shouting out. Get ready for your close up. The Emmy nominations are here. But before we get into that, of course, let me get a shout out. Shout out.
[00:09:27] Let's do a special shout out to War Machine 947. He's a new. War Machine 947. This is a new one. War Machine 947. He gave us a five star review on Apple podcast. So thanks a lot for that. War Machine.
[00:09:44] He said new listener met y'all at Gem state Comic Con figured. I checked this check out the show. I didn't make it through the first episode before I got hooked. I listened while I'm at work and love the show. Hey, I'm just going to throw this out there.
[00:09:58] It was at Gem state Comic Con. War Machine 947 could be Sean Aston. I'm just saying it could be Sean Aston. That 100% calling Baker. I made quite the impression on. I think Colin Baker is literally a fan now after that interview. I'm sure he had a lot of fun.
[00:10:16] The name should be doctor war machine 947 and then exactly. Yeah, he's if it was War Machine 947 taters, it might have been Sean Aston. There you go. Yeah. Or our lambos. Yeah. There we go. Shout out to War Machine. Appreciate you posting the five star review. Exactly.
[00:10:38] All right, well, ladies and gentlemen, hold on one second here. Our guest just messaged me. We can do Debbie. Shout out to Debbie. Debbie is an emerging brand of energy drinks created to help focus concentration reaction time with no jitters or crash.
[00:10:52] There's no multi dextran sugar fillers artificial colors or dyes and mosquito friendly. Debbie can't be your. You can change your neuro factor to help give your brain focus and clarity and the 150 milligrams of caffeine and three essential B vitamins help you stay alert. So finish this off.
[00:11:10] And energized. Find out more about Debbie at www.db.gg. Use the code nerding 10 and get 10% off at checkout all the deliciousness. You guys can see it behind me on that side right there. There's some W right, right on the other side of my apparently well rounded shoulders.
[00:11:28] Flexing dude. I'm not flexing at all. That's literally my God. This guy with his shoulders and his defined arms. Jeez. Come on guy. I'm literally just sitting here now this. It was better when you were. Father or mother. What father or mother?
[00:11:45] Use your dad is Debbie father or mother in what context. I say daddy. Debbie is pop up. Debbie daddy. Debbie daddy. I'm just going to go. Debbie is mother because it's more nurturing. It's it's the mother of energy. What are we? Yeah, what are we leading into here?
[00:12:04] I don't know. I'm sorry. You guys aren't young enough for this conversation. Distance earning is on comic. Shout out to Sandra by the way who used nerding 10 and got herself some Debbie. Absolutely shout out to you. I like that. Look for the distance learning podcast.
[00:12:26] Even this episode and our second show a comic conversation each week on Comic Con read comic con dash radio dot com slash podcast. So I'm pop that in the chat. Do it. We jumped that we jumped the gun on that because the next
[00:12:40] slide is actually supposed to be the geek end update. So it's like. Distance earning is on comic on radio. Okay. Look for the distance learning podcast even this episode at our second show a comic conversation each week on this is turning is on comic on radio.
[00:12:55] Do you get royalties or something for flights? Is it like a union thing? What are you doing? No, it's a slide show and the slides are already set up in a way. I can't skip a slide. Okay. Wow. Geez.
[00:13:09] I said I would do anything if he gave me enough money and somebody paid me for this. And that he will we know that if you give him enough money he will do anything. Yeah. Even if. No, no, no. No, wait, stop. No.
[00:13:25] I put it in the chat but it didn't do a link. So there'd be there. It'd be real quick. Young Phil we have a new comic conversation but it's on the distance nerding podcast feed on the distance nerding feed. Correct.
[00:13:42] So we didn't interview recently with Lawrence and Diego while we were at Silver Edge Comic Con and they announced some new books and some new projects that they have going on. It's a really fun conversation. We went into the history and kind of their relationship
[00:13:59] and their relationship with comics and of course like their father son relationship and now with Diego being an artist where his dad has always been an artist and now they're making comics together and everything. It's pretty awesome story. I love a generational artist story. Yeah.
[00:14:17] So go and check that out guys. It's in currently in our distance nerding feed and this week I'm putting out another couple of episodes of Comic Conversation. So we've got. Let's go. Yeah, we've got them up. I'm going to be putting out a few episodes a week because
[00:14:33] we got to catch up. We've got a whole bunch of interviews that we've done that need to be out some stuff that's salient so we need to get that stuff out there. So it's a celebration of San Diego Comic Con. Exactly. It's like comic conversation time. Definitely.
[00:14:48] And they're really cool interviews. Yeah. Oh yeah. That's like that's I think that's the best thing is the ones that come from the live events that we do. They're really fun and they're so like off the cuff.
[00:15:00] A lot of times we'll have it set up where we're like, okay, we've got these. We know where the interview is going to go and we'll mention something and it leads into this amazing thing that they've never told before or that they have
[00:15:13] told before, but they haven't told in a long time or something like that. If you like the odd tangents we go on on the show, watch those or whatever. Yeah. But it is really neat to be in the same place as the person you're interviewing.
[00:15:26] I think it makes it a little more special. So yeah, it makes it more intimate. Right. Okay. Let's not get, let's not go there. Speaking of getting intimate. Metal Art Comic Con is just around the corner of July 27, 28th in Medford, Oregon.
[00:15:43] A short, less than five hour drive for us from here in Sacramento. It's going to be awesome. So who are you calling us? Us. Yeah. Yeah. Because John is going to be there. Hey man. Things happen. Things happen. I'm not going to be there.
[00:15:58] I'm not going to be there because we have a family camping trip, but I'm super jealous because Andy Merrill is going to be there. Who we interviewed at powerhouse.com. The voice of Brack. He's super fun. He's super fun.
[00:16:10] Oh God, he comes on stage with this Brack puppet. And it is the greatest thing ever is if you go to our Instagram right now, you can see a picture of it. Of he, when we took our con picture,
[00:16:23] he sat it on my shoulder and so funny man. It makes me wish I was going to be there because I could bring creepy baby and Brack. The baby could really get along. There you go. And sit on each one of young Phil's shoulders.
[00:16:38] What the hell is that? So Andy Merrill is from Space Ghost, Coast to Coast, Aquatine Hunger Force. He's been in a bunch of other stuff. He, he's great. He's super fun. Like, you know how we make all the interview questions and whatnot ahead of time research.
[00:16:54] It all went out the window when it came time to interview Andy, but in the funnest way, like we realized like, oh wait a second, he did stand up comedy. That's right. And then all of a sudden it was just like tangents, just like what she do.
[00:17:05] It was tangents and all over the place stories and, and all of a sudden his Brack puppet is like playing the ukulele on stage. And then, and then the canopy that was covering us flew off. It was the craziest interview, but it's, but he's so much fun.
[00:17:21] He like just went with it. It was so great as, as we were putting the canopy back on real quick. He's like, I guess you'll just play the ukulele. And he just starts singing a song while we're like, but it's like, it's, it's, it's a 100% improv song.
[00:17:36] So he's just like singing about what we're doing. Like, and they're bringing it back on the table connecting all the things to keep it from flying away again. Stephen Constantino, he was in Return of the Jedi. He's got a fun story of how he got there.
[00:17:58] And it's because of Billy D. Williams. Is it, he was playing one of the Gamorians. One of the Gamorian Garden. Yeah. Yeah. So he has a fun little story. And he has a big music background too. So that'll be an interesting, interesting interview.
[00:18:11] And then Lou Temple, who's been in a ton of stuff. Right. You guys know that he actually played minor league baseball? No, I do not. And I saw, I saw the notes on that. I'm like, oh, that's kind of interesting. Yeah. He actually made it up to scout.
[00:18:27] So he scouted talent. So I thought that was kind of neat. That's pretty cool. But he's been in The Walking Dead and Walker, Texas Ranger. The new one. He likes to walk. Once upon a time in Hollywood. So he's got a ton of stories.
[00:18:42] And also speaking of walking dead Dave Fenway. Is that how you pronounce it? Yeah. Dave Fenway. Fenway. He's, he's a voice actor and he's been in Starcraft 2. Bayonetta, Spider-Man 2. Whole bunch of games that I've actually played. So I'm actually excited. Walking Dead. The Telltale Game.
[00:19:01] The Telltale Games Walking Dead. Oh, cool. Did Elder Scrolls as well? Yeah. Oh, now you're talking to New Slanguids. You got all excited. So ladies and gentlemen, to further talk about Metal Art Comic Con and all the things that we are going to be having a whole
[00:19:19] crap ton of fun doing over there. I would like to welcome back to the show the proprietor of Colossus Girl Entertainment. The man, the genius behind all of it. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome back to the show. Dave Hayworth. Hey James. Nice seeing you. Hey Dave.
[00:19:35] How are you? Who is this guy? Who is this guy? Clean shaven. This guy. No, no, no. I got a little bit right here. He's got some peach fuzz. It's fine. Yeah. When it's 105, like 50 days in a row, you kind of have to. That's fair. That's fair. Yes.
[00:19:52] I feel yes. I agree. It's 107 here in Sacramento right now. Really? Yeah. And we have loads of smoke from Oregon from the fire. So I literally feel like I'm in hell. It's crazy. So I shouldn't tell you all it's a nice 84 degrees here. Yeah.
[00:20:09] I'm not sure if I'm going to get that. So I shouldn't tell you all it's a nice 84 degrees here. Nice. You know, it's funny is it's 107 here right now. It was supposed to be 113 today. So at least at least it's 107. Right. Well,
[00:20:24] I don't know if I can feel the difference between those two. So, you know, Snap is what they call it. I work outside. So yes, I get to deal with that. Well, Endorse. Enough of the weather news. Wow. Yeah. Let's talk metal like whatever you're nerding out about.
[00:20:41] Yeah. And we're nerding out about the weather. Meteorology. Yeah. Look, hey, You can be a meteorologist. What I did today, Nerding out. Is that what you asked? Yes. That's exactly what I asked. Well, I watched Star Wars rebels half the day and then I watched
[00:20:58] Ultraman the other half of the day. Wow. Very good. Which season of Star Wars rebels did you watch? First season. Just, just the first season. Oh, okay. All four discs. When they were, when they were sweet summer children. Yes. And I'm looking forward.
[00:21:14] I know this is controversial in some circles, but I am looking forward hopefully next week watching the acolyte and having my own opinion of the show. So I'm looking forward to that. Yeah. Okay. Then we will not talk about it. Nope. We will not. Except I will say.
[00:21:30] No, no, no. No, no. Hot up on hot D. Whoa. Hot D. Yeah. How's the dragon? I'm hot D. What do you mean? He's hot. The game of Thrones prequel. Bottom Tess. Game of Thrones. Oh, I have, you know, I've never seen Game of Thrones. So well,
[00:21:48] Get him off now. Well, being a writer. Lighters don't read. I'm not going to read. I'm not going to read. I'm not going to read. Writers don't read other writer stuff unless the writer is dead. Like, you know, I'll be talking Lewis, you know,
[00:22:02] Asimov all that stuff because they're dead. So. What do you think of rebels right now? Are you excited for it? You like it? Rebels. Yeah. I've seen it before. I enjoy it. I'm a big Star Wars freak, you know, and I have to,
[00:22:18] Kiber Cabe is not going to like to hear this. I'm not going to like to hear this. When we were at Silver Age, there was a lightsaber. I really, really liked, but I promised my friend to be that I would buy one of his lightsabers,
[00:22:31] but he didn't have any lightsabers available. I didn't like it at the time. So I went over to Kiber Cabe gave and they had like a blue ish metal lightsaber that I really liked. And I said, well,
[00:22:44] I need something to take with me to Japan next year for celebration. I don't want to bring my Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber because that's expensive. So I went to get it and it was gone. And I asked him, Hey, yeah, where's this lightsaber? Do you have any more?
[00:22:58] They were like, no, I'm like, oh man. So like the whole weekend, every, every half hour I went over there just to see if there was miracles happening. And nothing happened. So I went to neon sabers.com because now I was mad
[00:23:10] and I was like, oh, I'm going to be like, I'm going to be like, what is it? I'll be like, oh, I'm like, I'm going to be like aاي and then I'm like, oh, you can't be like like, like, I'll be like,
[00:23:20] I'm going to go to neon sabers.com because now I was mad and on a mission that I needed something. And they had a deal, like two lightsabers, $99 each, and I bought a couple of sabers and, you know, Phil will understand this. You know,
[00:23:34] when you go to galaxy's edge and get like a one of their expensive lightsabers, you can't use it and hit it against the wall or it's someone in the face with it. if it breaks or if TSA takes it, you're like, oh, well, fine. Right. Whatever.
[00:23:48] And that's basically what it was for. And, but, you know, I'm still waiting for him. So hopefully they'll show up. But yeah. And I'm a weirdo. I get in these trends and Marina will tell you like now, and I bought and I bought lightsaber
[00:24:02] wall hangers for them as well. So I'm bad. You should have said something to us. We would have, we, you know, Kyber gave down the street from us. From us. Yeah. The one. Yeah, they said they were sold out at Silver Age completely.
[00:24:20] And for that one, they would probably have to wait for a whole new shipment. But I'll be, I'll be buying from them again. You know, I really prefer to buy stuff from the vendors at our shows. So I'm going to hit up a 2B at gem state.
[00:24:34] I'm going to hit him up a lightsaber there and then somewhere down the line, I'll hit Kyber, Kate, Nick's kit next time they're in one of our events. And then I'll get them both because when I say something, I always do it.
[00:24:44] So yeah, they will definitely be getting sales from me. They'll it'll just be a little bit longer way. There you go. There you go. 2B does have some cool lightsabers, but it's all his are all like custom built, you know, right?
[00:24:59] And, you know, I'm hoping that he creates some and sells him at his table. So I don't know. I would like to buy one from him as well, because I've known him for like what, 12 years or something? I remember his daughter when she was just a little baby.
[00:25:15] You know, so, you know, I'd like to support the people who support us. So it just makes sense, right? So yeah, 2B is great. His wife, Sandra Chandra, she's great too. She's awesome. Yeah, the whole family school. Have you spoken to their daughter? Oh, yeah. Yeah.
[00:25:33] She is her a Funko pop. She is the most I'll tell you, she is one of the most intelligent kids I've ever met. I'm sitting there talking to her and I'll be like, how old are you again?
[00:25:45] Because she sounds like she's like, you know, in her 20s, her vocabulary and everything is she's just such an intelligent girl. And I say that to Chandra every time I see her. So that's awesome. Yeah. You're like, it didn't come from 2B. I know that.
[00:26:04] You're a great artist. Thanks. Thanks. The shade in just that like, hey, you're a wonderful artist. The shade. He didn't even show up for Gem State. Yes. Hey, 2B is also down the street here in Sacramento. He knows where to find me.
[00:26:24] Yeah. And he still went to Gem State. Be careful. And I'm telling you if you're going to get out of town, well, if you're going to Gem State next year, you're going to want to bring your lightsaber, is that's all I'm going to say. Oh, no.
[00:26:39] OK, but let's talk about Metalark because we got some fun guests. And these are like mostly new guests. So this is kind of nice. Yeah. You know what happened was, you know, Gigi and Spencer has been with us for a while. And, you know, Spencer
[00:26:56] right after Silver Age had to go back to the UK because he's filming Toxic Avenger. Yeah. So, you know, he's not going to be doing any shows for the conventions for the next couple of years. So we're like telling people, you better go see him.
[00:27:10] You're not going to see him maybe never in the United States. And then Gigi had another commitment because what happened is we had to change the dates for Metalark because of the venue change. And you know how difficult it is to get venues.
[00:27:25] But, you know, in Oregon, I don't know for how long. I think for the last eight years, every year we want to walk. Wonking dead people. We want walking dead people. So I always look for walking dead people and they're always people
[00:27:38] who are noncredited, an extra in the back of a scene or a guy who's a walking zombie, no one substantial. And Lou just temple, yeah, temple. Just boom came out of the blue. I said, you know what? I don't remember him on Walking Dead,
[00:27:56] but I've seen him in so many other damn movies. His face is so familiar to me. And then I go to IMDB and I'm like, he talked no more. I got to sign this guy. And you know, he's someone on Walking Dead who actually has lines.
[00:28:12] So Oregon got what they requested. It took a few years, but they got it. And then it was funny because I ended up getting a call from an agent saying, you know, I have this guy named Dave Finoy, who doesn't really do any shows.
[00:28:27] You know, he's kind of high end. He's a great guy, though. And he would love to come to Oregon. He heard about you. He would love to come. He's never been and they said, Oregon seems to be kind of his style.
[00:28:38] Right. You know, and I said, well, you know, I'm not sure. And I went on the IMDB because you know me, I don't watch anything after 1970s. So I got. Oh, so it's currently, right. Exactly. And so I'm looking at this guy.
[00:28:54] I'm like, oh my gosh, he is freaking amazing. I love, you know, I love video games. Right. Yeah. And he's the antagonist of Bayonetta, the video games. Oh, yeah. So many other video games and animation and all this.
[00:29:07] And I said, yeah, I definitely want them because, you know, we like exclusives and we don't like, you know, to get guests who appear to other events most of the time. And he doesn't do events. So I said, how perfect is that? It's such a interesting lineup.
[00:29:25] It's not a lineup that you see every day. It's almost like a film nor lineup. It's just it's just kind of like, you know, etchy. I don't know what the word to explain it, but it's so edgy and cool. And these guys are like collecting, right? Yeah, exactly.
[00:29:44] And I think it's perfect for Oregon, because that's what Oregon is. Right? I mean, yeah. Yeah, totally. It's so interesting, because whenever you have a new set of talent coming into these shows, I'm like, they look familiar, but I don't quite know who they are.
[00:30:00] And then, you know, as we start researching them to do the interviews, it's amazing the credits that they bring. Like you were mentioning Dave Van Noi and it's like, oh, yeah, he's been in Spider-Man 2 the game. OK, that's cool. But also Elder Scrolls. He's been in that.
[00:30:14] He was in the Walking Dead game. You know, he's in Starfield, you know, huge, huge franchises. Speaking of Star Wars earlier, by the way, he's also got some credits for Young Jedi, the brand, the newest show. Yeah, that's on Disney Plus. And he's a Star Wars Rebels.
[00:30:30] Yeah. He plays the Jedi. I forget the name of the Jedi. Sorry for not remembering it. It's funny because. Sorry. Is that his name? No. It's funny because after the fallout show came out, I started going through all the fallout games, right?
[00:30:46] I'm currently on fallout four right now. And looking at his resume, Dave Van Noi has been in every fallout game. He's played a character, a different character in every fallout game. And I'm just like, wow, you know, I actually was funny is when we
[00:31:01] when we started doing research on him, I had just dealt with his character in the game. Like, right after I'd like pulled up his resume, I was like, holy crap, because I had just got off the game.
[00:31:11] I'm like, holy crap, I was just dealing with this guy like right now. Yeah. Well, he's one of those guys like a like a Phil Le Mar, who is part of like every single franchise that's out there.
[00:31:21] Like I was just looking. He was in he was in Fortnite. He was in Transformers. He was in Final Fantasy. He was in was the other one I just saw. Skylander. World of Warcraft. You know? Yeah, he's got he's got credits everywhere.
[00:31:35] Right. And you know, believe it or not, you probably won't believe this. But believe it or not, when I'm looking for guests, I'm also looking for actors who compliment the panels that you guys will be doing.
[00:31:49] So when I'm looking at guests, I'm also thinking of you guys at the same time. You know, so I'm not selfish and only get the people I like. I get people I think that maybe you guys would like to interview
[00:32:00] or what I think you guys might like to interview. You know what I mean? Yeah, it's fun. It's fun. It's definitely fun. So it's really cool. Did we did we talk about Steven yet? Steven Costantino. Well, we haven't yet not yet a weekend now if you want.
[00:32:15] Yeah, well, David has been in a couple of Barbie things too. So I definitely think you should ask him if he's got energy. If you look at the dude, he definitely has energy. He's enough. He's enough. OK. Enough for sure. He's enough.
[00:32:31] And his dreads have enough Ken than most people. So I got more Ken in one. Dreads than most people have in their whole body. Right. So no, Steven Costantino. He's played a Gamorian guard in Return of the Jedi.
[00:32:49] He's actually the Gamorian guard that Luke Skywalker also attacks on the barge. Yeah, cool. He's good friends with Billy D. Williams and the son of Billy D. Williams, who also played. Yeah, Corey, thank you. Who also played a creature in Return of the Jedi.
[00:33:06] And they've remained friends all this time. And we had Steven way back in 2016 for Campbell Con. And then we had him also at California Republic Comic Con in 2016. And, you know, he called and, you know, he says, hey, let's get the band back together again, sort of speak.
[00:33:28] And I said I would love to because he's he's great to hang out with and just have conversations about what went behind Return of the Jedi. Like during the desert scenes and the Java scenes, all these things that he can tell you that you're like, really?
[00:33:42] Wow, just some interesting, very interesting tales. And so he'll be there in Metal Art. You know, he's always had some kind of Star Wars connection every year. You know, I think it was last year. Was there two years before God rest his soul?
[00:33:56] We had Alan Fernandez and Andrew Nelson. And before that, we had other people. We had Keone Young, who was a Star Wars rebels. So there's always been someone Star Wars at Metal Art. That's awesome. That's awesome. No, it's great. And Return of the Jedi is my favorite.
[00:34:13] It's my favorite Star Wars movie. It's also mine. It's my third favorite. I can tell you, for Empire's takes back. And then you go up and it's new home. Number three, Return of the Jedi. Number four, Rogue One and number five, which I'll get some complaints about.
[00:34:32] Number five all time, believe it or not, is solo. OK, interesting. What now would you if you were to throw in the series, would you throw rebels into that mix? You know, that's that's really a question I would I would have really had to think about that.
[00:34:49] We got time. We can just sit here and wait. No, rebels. I don't think would be solo. There's something about live action. You know, yeah. I always say that rebels is my favorite animated Star Wars. And that's that's why I have to separate them
[00:35:08] because I can't I can't do all that. Better than better than bad batch. Yeah, it's lightly off. Shoot a bad batch. No. Yeah. But I to me bad batch is an offshoot of it. Is bad as an off-roader. Story like each character completes their arc.
[00:35:25] Like when you finish that story, you're like, no, I feel like each character started somewhere and ended somewhere else. Like whereas and it bad batch does that too. But it really bad batches whole thing is Omega story. Not. Yeah. All until they created a Soka. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:35:45] Well, I mean, a Soka was was one worse. I sing on the cake. But you know what I'm saying? Like it like the characters that are in that and bringing some of the characters back.
[00:35:54] I think that's amazing, but they didn't have to do it for all of us to be satisfied with where we left them. Right. Well, I will tell you, I forget the character's name, but it's the one with the green face and the air. That's her.
[00:36:08] I like the live action here a lot more than the animated one. I'll tell you that. Oh, really? Well, she is married to Obi-Wan. You and the Gregor. Yeah. Yeah. Well, you and the Gregor. That sucks. But anyway, before we get back to metal art,
[00:36:26] Conor Conn, I mean, if you have a chance, I'm just throwing it out there. If you have a chance, if you can get Freddie Prince, Jr. Oh my God. At one of the shows, I mean, that would be amazing.
[00:36:37] He'd have all the the 90s rom-com crowd, you know, up in arms like, oh my God, it's pretty pension year. The Star Wars crowd, the wrestling crowd. And then you have me because I would ask him about Chico and the Man. Exactly. Oh, Chico and the Man.
[00:36:53] Oh, yeah. Well, his dad, right? Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. I'm dating myself, but I remember being six years old and watching that show. But no, Freddie Prince, Jr., he really doesn't leave the house much
[00:37:06] because I mean, if you're married to Michelle Geller, do you really leave the house? Exactly. He's been doing more lately. So like now is the prime time to get him. I'm just planting a seed. Go go out there and do work your Dave Magic, you know?
[00:37:20] I agree. I would also ask about Wing Commander about how much he hated filming that movie. We've talked about that a lot on the show. How much he hates that movie. Yeah. Whenever we do lists and we talk about like the worst
[00:37:32] like video, we did worst video game adaptations. We talked about Wing Commander and Wing Commander only made it as far as it did because the argument was you can like a movie where your cast hated making it.
[00:37:46] And and to this day talks about it being their worst mistake is is is a movie that deserves to be high in a list of worst video games. It is objectively worse. Yeah. Because Freddie Prince, Jr. said that the script that he got
[00:38:01] was not the movie they filmed. All right. All right. Everyone talk about the Lord. Well, everyone talk. Wait, one thing first. Everyone talks about the worst movies ever made. I have to tell you, I'm giving you a challenge. OK, watch Gamera from 1980.
[00:38:17] Watch that film. It is the worst film ever made. You have images of Star Blazers where Gamera is going up and it's like they're trying to pretend that Gamera meets Star Blazers and then Gamera meets Kevin. It's the worst movie.
[00:38:33] And then you have three girls who are like Superman. You want to see the worst movie ever made? Gamera, 1980 version. Go check it out. It's worse than Mano's Hands of Fate. Oh, Manos, the Hands of Fate is Academy nominee compared to that film. Oh my God.
[00:38:48] And we've had an actress from Mano's Hands of Fate on the show. So Jackie, that's funny. We had Jackie on the show. She's fun. That's funny. I'm trying to think who else we're getting. We are also getting Tanya Todd. I was just doing the research on her.
[00:39:04] She's interesting. It'll be fun to talk to another. She's an author. She's a writer. She's author writer. It's kind of the same thing. Actor. She does a lot of film production, but also a podcaster. So it's going to be fun to talk to her.
[00:39:20] So what time is that panel? That is Sunday 2 p.m. to 2.45 p.m. You should come check it out. I hope I can make it. Hey, I know a guy. I'll get you some tickets. I got. Thank you. I got it.
[00:39:38] Wait, you're going to be at the show though, right? Right, Dave? Yeah, I'll be at the show. I mean, I'll have to drive through a wall of fire to get there. Oh, are you not in or I figure you'd be in Oregon already? Not yet. Oh, OK.
[00:39:52] But I have no organs really embraced us this year. I got a heavy schedule. I got two radio interviews on Friday and then Friday morning, I have a morning TV show to go to. So I'm very excited about that.
[00:40:05] I know well, I'm excited about it because, you know, the media should be involved when you have this show out in the community. And, you know, what's funny about California is no offense, Philippe. Here we go.
[00:40:17] But young Phil, but in California for a convention to get on the news, the convention has to pay. So anytime you see like a news broadcast about a convention, it's paid for. It's paid for.
[00:40:29] It's not free. So it's nice to be able to get like an Oregon where they come out, they invite you and it's free advertising. But they should because it just helps the community, right? Yeah, it's good stuff.
[00:40:40] And in some, you know, there's all the social media going on right now and whatnot, but some communities need that little bit of down home like, yeah, go on TV, go on radio. And that's how you need to promote it. You know, there's a couple of times
[00:40:55] where we've gone to Metal Arc or gone to Anna Medford with y'all and we're talking to the person at the front desk and they're like, all of a sudden, there's so many people here. What's going on? Dude, you have a comic con in your town.
[00:41:09] He's like, oh my God, really? I would love to go. I'm like, oh my gosh. You know what? You know what I love when you're doing a venue for the first time, which is the first event for this venue called Rogue X, right?
[00:41:21] And it's a lot of space and they still don't get it. They don't they don't get it. And they're all government employees and and they don't understand that there's going to be people dressed up as Batman and suit and all these things.
[00:41:34] There's going to be a skippy bikini is all kinds of stuff. And it will hit them during right there in the middle of the show. That we're like, oh my God, what happened? You know, it's just like Jim State last year or this year, earlier this year,
[00:41:47] the girl who was working with us. It was her first year in that position. So she didn't realize what she was getting involved in. And halfway through the event, she's all, you know, I met Sean Astin. You got all these people.
[00:42:00] I thought it was going to be like 200 people in a few. Yeah. And she just and she goes next year, you have the whole you have everything. You have all the bills. I said, good, it's about time someone learns. There you go. We need space. That's awesome.
[00:42:14] Yeah. And the bigger the venue gets, it feels like you have no problem filling it, you know, it seems like bigger and bigger every year. It's a bigger purse. So like that's it. You fill the purse you have. If your purse gets bigger, you fill it.
[00:42:28] If it gets smaller, you take stuff out. I mean, it's the same thing. Right. And this year, in this year, we were very careful, you know, Rogues, it's first year. They've never done an event before. They have no idea.
[00:42:40] So, you know, we made sure we have enough space for people and things like that. We didn't want to sardine it because we just don't want to, you know, we just don't know what can happen, especially since it's a building I've never been in, right?
[00:42:54] So it's you got to be a little cautious. But yeah, it's going to be it's going to be a lot of fun. Loads of people. What do I always say? I always say, you know, if you want to support these events,
[00:43:03] you have to buy those tickets online and get there because if you don't show up, maybe next year won't show up in some other city will get it. You know what I mean? Instead of, you know, Oakland. Take that Seattle SuperSonics fans.
[00:43:21] Are they like Oklahoma City Thunder fans now? No, they just cry on their Mariner jerseys. Anyway, on their. Is the SuperSonics don't exist anymore? Going back to Metal Art Comic Con. I love the actors. I love the voice actors.
[00:43:41] We're always you always have brilliant actors and voice actors coming. And it's always interesting. But one of the guests that you're bringing is Mark Arnold, who's like an author. And there's a panel and he has some amazing books about like music,
[00:43:54] about like Cracked Magazine, about Disney, about that. That's going to be an interesting panel. Oh man. Yeah. Now, Cracked Magazine, that that's that's going to be interesting because, like, you know, they were that was a fun thing before it imploded. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:44:08] Yeah. He wrote for, I think, Mad Magazine and Cracked. So I thought it was good for to get someone who actually worked on those books, you know, to get, you know, kind of perspective.
[00:44:21] I think we all read those as kids, you know, you go to Safeway and you see the Star Wars Mad Edition and you pick it up and read it. And it was hilarious, you know, same with Cracked.
[00:44:31] And you always want to kind of talk to someone who worked on those. And, you know, so when he offered, I said, come on down, you know? So that's great. I remember I would get Mad Magazine specifically because of Spy versus Spy.
[00:44:44] And then and then I just got like hooked on the entire magazine after that. And then, of course, Mad TV became a thing. And you know, but like it's it's like Mad Magazine was amazing. I was I was doing my research on Mark.
[00:44:58] And, you know, I was looking up his books. I'm like, oh, that's really cool Cracked Magazine. That's awesome. Underdog, he has a book on like underdog. Well, I'm like, all right, cool. Let's see what else he has. But then he has a book on the Beatles.
[00:45:09] But then I found his his podcast, his show on YouTube. And he had a whole series on like the monkeys discography. I'm like, this guy goes super deep into his content. It's so good. And I was watching that. What? I didn't get that far. I love the monkeys.
[00:45:28] Like they were like my first like real like she had a plus on Davey Jones. Yeah. No, actually, as we all did, I was a Mickey Dolan girl. We're all Mickey Dolan's girls, right? Am I right? Am I right?
[00:45:44] No, but it was super interesting listening to him and his talk about the monkeys and rating all the albums, like 13 different albums. I'm like, I don't even know they had 13 albums. But it was so cool just because I love the monkeys too.
[00:45:59] I love the show, you know, and so seeing that kind of level of knowledge on something, I'm like, oh, this guy's this guy's fun. Look, I'm going to buy me a dog. Amazing. That is such a good song. I bet you guys don't even know about that song.
[00:46:12] Exactly. But you know who that is, Mark Arnold. Yes. Mark Arnold knows about it. I'll say that much. Well, you want to see Mark Arnold? Good. Oh, yeah. Exactly. Good. A metal artist from McGon. Yeah, I don't know about Mark Arnold, but there are times
[00:46:26] I spend four or five hours on YouTube just watching Bee Gees too much Heaven reaction videos of the, you know, so talk about monkeys and music in 70s and 60s. Also, monkeys, they really were the first boy band. I did see them in concert.
[00:46:41] It was Mickey, Peter and Davey Jones and Nesmith had left. And I think I was like 13 at the time and I had seen them on stage at Marriott's Great America in Santa Clara, California. And they were a pretty good show. It was decent.
[00:46:56] I was supposed to see them at the old Texas stadium when it was in Arlington. And then I couldn't go because I had to spend that week with my mother in a different state. So then my dad got me tickets to Amy Grant instead.
[00:47:13] And I'm like, how is Amy Grant on the same level as the monkey? I went, but I did not. Oh, really? I'd never heard any of her songs. So I don't know. I like that she's OK. She's a little churchy, but that's OK.
[00:47:30] So Rogue X, is this the first like big event that they've done? It is the first big event that they will be doing or they will be doing. I should say, yeah. OK. So I will be I will be ready for anything when I walk through those doors.
[00:47:45] Hopefully it's not like powerhouse where I walk in there and I have to set up like 200 tables by myself with Marina. That's that's no fun. That is no fun. No. Well, Rogue X looks like a beautiful venue. It's a brand new brand new facility.
[00:48:01] It just opened up in March. They do a lot of sporting events there and they have next to it a water park. I tried talking to Marina about maybe doing a swimsuit cosplay contest, but she wouldn't have it. So that's out of the question.
[00:48:18] But you know, if you're looking for the kids, it's for the fans, it's for the fans. And if you're willing to, you know, it's to keep cool, you can keep cool and it's going to be air conditioning is going to be blazing.
[00:48:31] So it's not going to be like last year's Medford shows. No swamp coolers. It's all top of the line. AC and it's going to be very nice. Good, good, good. Because that was that was fairly uncomfortable last year.
[00:48:46] I didn't notice I'm hot no matter what the show is and what the temperature is, you know, so. Yeah, you are. I mean, I mean, I mean, hot as in. Go back to that bikini contest we were talking about. No, I'm not.
[00:49:09] How low he was when he said, yeah, oh my goodness. That's my child. That's my child. I burst him. I, you know, I will say about metal art, I do like how the community comes out speaking of cosplayers. There's always a big cosplay community that comes out.
[00:49:29] So shout out to metal art in the community that you've built up there of nerds and geeks and cosplayers. So that'll be awesome. Looking forward to it. Right. Looking forward to it. It's always a good time.
[00:49:42] And, you know, one thing that you have that, you know, the local media doesn't have is your worldwide. You know what I mean? So if you if you're watching this nerding and you're in Indonesia, come on over. Yeah, I like it. Come on, Indonesia show up. Represent.
[00:49:57] Yeah. All right. So let's get back. Metal Art Comic Con July 27th, 28th, Rogix in Medford. Go to metalartcomicon.com. Get your tickets. Do we sell? I'm just checking. Get your tickets online because it's discounted. Family packs are only available online.
[00:50:16] You have to emphasize that because you get people at the door. Can I have a family pack? No, those are online. Or tickets still $10. No, that's online. Go online and get them now. You know, it's way to do it. Speaking of tickets, the forever pass.
[00:50:33] Can we talk about that for a second? So there's the Metal Arc Forever Pass and then the team Colossus forever multi pass. Right. Well, all forever passes next year are all going to become multi passes. So that's awesome.
[00:50:48] So now if you have a forever pass, you can go to any show no matter what. That's ours. I mean, you can't go to San Diego and do that, but you can do it at our event. I mean, you know, I mean, you could probably try.
[00:51:02] Yeah, sure you could. Yeah. Yeah. You know, that's particularly lenient that day. That's really cool. I've never heard any even some of the other shows like like a Galaxycon. I've never heard them do anything like this. This is super innovative, especially for somebody in Oregon
[00:51:19] because you have three shows in Oregon. Yeah, shows in Oregon. I mean, come on. And the thing is, you know, these other events will eventually catch up to us and take the idea like most most events take all their ideas from us.
[00:51:31] So it just will take time for them to catch on. Like we're still the only convention with our own comic book and they'll catch on eventually. I mean, next year we plan on six titles. So we'll see. But yeah, that's moving along as well.
[00:51:43] And, you know, you got to come out and have just have a great time. Bring the family and hug James and. Hug Phil with those arms. Look at those arms. Man, maybe Phil can like. Have a multi city fan girl thing.
[00:52:01] I don't have I don't have another shirt where I can like cover up my arms. Talking about what happened at Silver Age. Yeah. Oh, I heard those girls were all from the Mustang Ranch. It's a god. Down the street. Yeah, that makes me more jealous.
[00:52:19] You had professional fan girls. Yeah. What can I say? Real quick, Shadda. Shadda, Sandra in the chat. She's part of the DeLong family cosplay they got forever passes. So they're going all over the place. You know, I've seen them. Yeah, they're awesome.
[00:52:37] So they're out there cosplaying it up, living the con life. It's super cool. Yeah. And if they're coming to Metal Arc, you know, if they want to do like a Marvel meetup or whatever, you know, we're always going to promote it. So yeah, just email. Just email.
[00:52:52] I like that idea. I do like that Marvel meetup idea because that's the one thing I really love about all the team Colossus Girls shows is like it's so community based. I've been to other cons, none of them build a community the way Metal Arc,
[00:53:07] Ante-Medford, Silver Age, you know, Jam State, the way they build communities is nothing like I've ever seen going to any other con. So I really do appreciate that about about Metal Arc and all the shows you guys do. And I just and I just finished today.
[00:53:21] I just sent it to Lewis Rivera, Team Colossus number six. So that'll be ready for next year in James Pasco. We'll also be doing some comics with us. So we're happy about that. Oh, nice. Shout out to Louise Rivera. Good buddy. We see him at all the shows.
[00:53:37] Actually, we didn't I did not see him at Silver Age because he was too busy on wrapping all the comic. Yeah. And also also busy, gambling. So maybe we keep him away from from the tables.
[00:53:53] All right. As soon as he gets in, as soon as he gets in, he goes straight to the slots and he's any any text me, Hey, Dave, I've been here an hour. I made a grand, right? He doesn't leave Reno until like 6 p.m. Sunday.
[00:54:08] He checks out 11 a.m. But he gambles until he has to go to the airport. So we just so he gets to the airport and he texts me, Hey, Dave, guess what? I lost everything that I'm like, Oh, Louise, he just doesn't know. Right. Yeah.
[00:54:27] No, we, Louise Rivera is good people. We've hung out with him a bunch of times in in Oregon at Anna Medford and in Metal Arc and then Silver Age as well. So yeah, he's he's a really good and a good artist.
[00:54:40] Yeah, we hung out with him at Gem State too with me. Oh, that's true. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So really good artist. So he knows his cross gen comics. He and I talked cross gen comics for like an hour.
[00:54:52] You kind of touched on it, but the Colossus Girl comics that you guys make for all the cons that you guys make, Louise works on those and he will sign all those for free when you go to the show. So it's really smart.
[00:55:06] Comics. If you're smart and some people do this and it surprises me every time, but I'll get someone who comes behind me and grabs me by the collar and says, sign this. So if you recognize me and I'll sign them too, because I write the damn things.
[00:55:22] So there you go. You can have the artists and the authors. Right. That's awesome. All right. So again, go to you put it in the chat, right? Metal Arc Comic Con dot com slash tickets. Get those tickets. We don't have the ticket master issues, right?
[00:55:35] Especially if you go online and buy the tickets. The master is only in Reno. It's like a read. Gotcha. Don't even get me started, man. Either way, just buy your tickets online. It makes the process a lot easier for you getting into the show. That's right.
[00:55:51] And you get look, you get all the swag. We got so many, so much swag and you get a Dave Warren, Sochquatch, Simpsons, a poster, which is so cool. And these are only available, you know, at the specific show. So if you want to get that Sochquatch Homer,
[00:56:12] it's only at Metal Arc. That's it. No more. That's it. You got to come and get it for that. And with all the news with the Simpsons lady, lately predicting the future and the latest predictions of the. You maybe never know this might be a prediction
[00:56:26] where you might see a guy dressed up as Sochquatch. So pick up that post. There you go. It's a super cool poster. I saw that you guys post about it and exclusive. I want to see more of those. No one's fun. That one's fun. Yeah. A lot.
[00:56:38] And yeah, get there early. Get all the free swag, especially the comic books, because I went and got my comic books at the end of the day. And Dave's like, yeah, here you go. Here's the comics. And there's like one left out of like the five issues
[00:56:51] or whatever that you had. And what are you covered? What issues do you guys have? I'll have to go back and look. I think I got number three and maybe a variant of number. Isn't isn't number three where you have the variants?
[00:57:04] Yeah, I have a variant on that. Yeah. I think I think I got that. That's what I got. Two number freeze. Yeah. Marina said no more. Yeah, no more variants. I got a little political on that variant and she told me.
[00:57:19] OK, no more variants, but we'll go foil covers. You know where it's all reflective? Oh my God. It's not the 1990s anymore. Let's let it go. No, but we should bring it back. Coming back. Bring it back. Bringing it back people.
[00:57:33] I'm just waiting for someone to give me an opinion on reading them because they come up to me. Oh, I picked up this comic book. It's so great. The artwork is so great. We love what this is doing. And I go, have you read it? Not yet.
[00:57:45] Oh, you know, so someone read it please. I like it. I'll read it if I had them all. Oh my God. There we go again. Gem state. Oh, we're going to work on it. Yeah. What is going on here? I know I did say James do readings.
[00:58:04] Oh, like. Like, have a library down the street. We do all the kids just have James like he's reading. He's reading with Uncle James. He's looking at a big, big one. Is if we had Louise come up maybe for one of the panels
[00:58:18] or like if there's an open panel just in the future. And we talk about the comics and he can sign them there or like cake, meet me back at the table and I'll sign them. That'd be actually be a fun idea. Great idea. I like that idea too.
[00:58:30] In fact, we're going to do it. There you go. You heard of your first book. I like that. It's going to be done. I like that. Speaking of, we do have an open schedule for Saturday 11 AM as to be determined. So I have a panel for you.
[00:58:47] You know what? I think you're right. I just had to run it by all of us. But yeah, I think it can be done. No, nothing is set in stone until the boss says it's done. So you want them to get the free comic books
[00:58:59] after the panel or at the door? Well, they can get them at the door and bring them to the. Sign them. Sign them out. To get signed. Maybe they get the latest issue at the door and back issues they can get at the panel or.
[00:59:14] I don't know wherever you want to do it. Something like this. I think this is a great, like we're starting, you know, brain trust here with this. Now we're marketing. Now we're marketing. I like this. Well, before we have any more great ideas. Yeah.
[00:59:29] Our copywriting these ideas first. OK, metal or comic con. July 27 28 Medford, Oregon. Get there. It'll be so much fun to go to metal art, comic con dot com slash tickets to get them. Pick it. And until Phil, until Phil to get off porn hub,
[00:59:45] you look so serious right now. I know, right? No, he's uploading to porn. I mean, yeah, everybody likes the gun. Apparently, everybody likes the gun show. So well, at least you guys get to have porn in Idaho. You can't watch porn. It's illegal. In fact, you know,
[01:00:07] yeah, you can't get onto those sites, which, you know, I don't know. I don't I don't watch that, but I'm just saying. Uh-huh. OK, it's because you can't. That's why you have shows in Oregon and Nevada. Well, so you're telling me I'm going to do Oregon shows
[01:00:24] just to get on porn hub. I have Nevada shows. Nevada shows. Other and others are going to Oregon, so they can go to the sensory. So I don't I don't know exactly, but I'm just stating the facts. You have three shows now in Oregon
[01:00:37] and the latest one is called Beaver State. So I don't know what you're doing, but apparently we know what you're doing. The little message. Oh my God. He's like, yeah, it's called Beaver State. You couldn't be more blatant with the lack of porn in Idaho.
[01:00:56] Well, I mean, if you called the Beaver State in Reno, there might be a problem. Yeah. That'd be good. Yeah. It'd be a different kind of beaver. Oh, goodness. All right. So get out everybody. OK, so James has been sweating for the first time
[01:01:12] I tried to end it, but then I don't know what happened. It's just going very hard. He's just going to go on and that's just more content for our only fans page. Don't worry about it. That's something like that to you guys during Silver Age or something.
[01:01:27] I'm getting bad. You mean you mean Mustang Ranch Con? Is that what you mean? Mustang Ranch Comic Con. We didn't want to do the swim to your competition. Yeah, Mustang Ranch Comic Con. There's a theme tonight at Sims.
[01:01:42] Like, yeah, I was going to say Mustang Ranch sounds like some sort of either STD or weird like crossover for ranch. Well, it is a place where you go to get STDs. Either way, it's definitely spicy. Yes. Oh, God, no. So don't get the spice.
[01:02:03] Go to metalarcomicon.com. We are really off the rails here. We are. And there are people in the chat saying that I think we broke Sandra. So she says she can't breathe. She's snorting Jeff from the Long Family Cosplay. She said, are we going to the Bunny Ranch?
[01:02:25] And Tater said, oh my God, Sandra. We're done with that. Metal Art Comic Con July 27th, Medford, Oregon. Shout out to Wayne B. Unknown. He's up there. He's a great like department for the show. When is Metal Art? 27th and 28th of July.
[01:02:43] And where can we get tickets? MetalArtComicon.com slash tickets. Oh, you know, I was about to, I was going to say the price of tickets and I totally forgot to say the price of tickets. Both days are 25 online or 35 at the door. Yay. For two day tickets.
[01:02:58] Yeah, two day tickets. How much is a Sunday ticket? How much is a Saturday ticket? Saturday general admission is 15. So, dude, that's so cheap. And then Sunday is 10 bucks. I know every time people come into the event, I feel like I'm being ripped off. It's so cheap.
[01:03:13] I'll tell you what. So if you want to feel like you're being ripped off, come on. So we had panels all through during Silver Age and we forgot to eat. You know, so I'm like by four o'clock, I'm like, oh my God, I'm so hungry.
[01:03:25] And I ended up buying some chicken strips at the counter there and it cost me $19. That's more than a ticket for Saturday or Sunday at Metal Art. So you got to get out there. You got to get out there.
[01:03:38] Yeah, well, I told Marina that you fill all you guys when you come to the events now, you're going to be having special guest badges, not media badges. Sweet. Look at that. So there's no problem getting through my Gestapo. People have a problem with it.
[01:03:56] They just let me go wherever I want. You didn't hear what happened with Tater at Silver Age. Anyways, Metal Art, we'll talk about it later. July 27, 28, Medford, Oregon, so much fun. That'll be awesome. Thanks, Dave. You're awesome. Thank you. See you guys next weekend.
[01:04:14] We didn't get an exclusive. You have to give us an exclusive. No, he did. He does not. We created a freaking panel on here. OK. OK. You want me to give you a little bit? Yes, I do want an exclusive. I will save gem state exclusive.
[01:04:30] I'll give you a hint. Lightsabers and magic wands. That's all I was saying. I like that. And on that note, Dave, thank you so much. You're amazing. Please keep doing the amazing work that you, Marina, do
[01:04:44] to bring all these amazing shows to us out here in New Zealand. Yes, thank you so much. And on behalf of the four of us here, I will see you this weekend. I see how it is. I will see you eventually. I am in Oklahoma.
[01:05:01] So as am I. I haven't started even like thinking about going. So I'll do it. I flew to London just to see Tom Baker. And then after that, I drove all the way to Nottingham just to see Peter Davidson the next day. You can come on out.
[01:05:16] Commitment, commitment. Yeah, there we go. But it gives us other ideas. Maybe we need maybe we need more cons in Oklahoma out that direction. No, I just need to bring Sean Assen to every show. And they were set. I don't think anybody has a problem with that.
[01:05:35] Absolutely not. Excitedly he got out. Let's let's just throw it out there. Let's just throw it out there without saying any of the names or anything like that. Sean Assen level mattery happening at Gemstate next year. Just just be there, guys.
[01:05:49] Yeah, you need to make it to Gemstate. I will be there and I will bring Shadu. Yes, I will. I will go. Shadu's like, I will make sure I ask for the time off now. And maybe another TARDIS landing next year for Gemstate.
[01:06:05] Now you're just flirting with me, Dave. Now you're just flirting with me. Don't you threaten me with a good time? By the way, just because you guys talk so much, Dr. Who and whatnot, I started watching Dr. Who, the new one on Disney Plus. Yeah, I liked it.
[01:06:22] Yeah, I enjoyed Dr. Who. I'm like, OK, maybe I need to go back and watch more Doctor Who. Yeah, do go back. Yes, yes. Go back. Unearthly child is where you should start. I will look that up. That was a good one. And I actually.
[01:06:35] In terms of script, not special effects. Yeah, I went back and watched the first stop, like the first and the second doctor stuff, like what I could find at the time. And I was really I was impressed because it was the 60s when they were doing
[01:06:48] and they did some really cool stuff in the 60s for what they had. So yeah, it was neat. But the best scripts were written with the third doctor, John Perkway. Yeah, it's mind blowing, visually wise, special effects wise, you know,
[01:07:05] but you had to think of it as in a script and the story lines were so far superior than anything that's been out since. Yeah, they really hit their stride. Like they like the first one, they were like, is it a kid's show? Is it a horror show?
[01:07:20] Is it they didn't know? And then the second one, it got a little perky. And then by third one, it was like, no, no, we don't want to. We're doing now. So they find out. Right. I love it. And then Tom, then it was Tom.
[01:07:32] Yeah, Tom. Yeah, you can't. Tom's one of the best. He is. OK, guys, let's. I know we're just. I know, stop with your. Who's in your universe? Your universe and our who will and your who will. Isn't isn't. Didn't you come out to California for a Gallifrey one?
[01:07:53] I do go to Gallifrey one because I've been going to that thing for like 20 something years. Yeah, close to it's the only show that I'll pay to get into. I was going to say, is that the only show you pay to get into?
[01:08:04] That's nice that you have like your own fandom that's kind of. It's in a weird way separated from. Yeah, that's why I'm on my long time ago. That's where Gigi and I actually met was at Gallifrey. Oh, that's cool. Yeah, that's awesome. I like that. I like that.
[01:08:17] You got an interesting crew of people that you surround yourself with. Yes, the only convention I actually mentioned by name. That's not ours is Gallifrey. Understandable. That is high praise then it is. It is absolutely. All right. Thank you. Well, Dave, one more time.
[01:08:35] Thanks for coming on the show. We highly appreciate you coming on and giving us your time. And so we will see you this weekend. And one more time, guys, Metal Art, Comic Con, get your tickets now at metalartcomicon.com slash tickets. Thank you guys. Appreciate it.
[01:08:50] You guys. Thank you. Appreciate you. Yeah. All right. Dave that you loved him. Yeah, I do. Love you. Love your face. He's like, I'm just throwing it out there. Yeah. Yeah. You have pretty lips. Let's get into some rumors. Yeah, because we've got some rumors to cover.
[01:09:09] Ladies and gentlemen, let's jump right on. Don't know. I don't know. Oh, yeah. Before we get into like the official rumors, I have a rumor. Oh, yeah? Yes. Rumors out. Someone on this panel may or may not be being vetted for deep status. I'm kidding. I'm joking.
[01:09:45] It's me. I'm sorry. It's it's you. I don't know what V status is. I'm like, what? Vice president. Vice president. Vice president. Can we not? Vice president or VP? What is V? No, come on. No, we're not doing that. The TV show. Hello. No. All right.
[01:10:04] Hey, we can't get too political right now. OK. Yeah, absolutely not. Let's jump into the rumors, ladies and gentlemen. I was talking about the TV show. Though Julia Louise Dreyfus is super cool. I think that's who Dave should get.
[01:10:18] Oh my God, can you imagine the stories we would get from her? Yeah. She was on Doctor Who. And oh. Where were we? James, this is your story. From long legs to spider legs. We have a plot summary for Prime Video's upcoming
[01:10:35] Spider Noir series and it reveals the possible villains that Nicholas Cage's Spider Noir will be facing off with. The series will follow an aging and down on his luck private investigator, Nick Cage, in 1930s New York,
[01:10:49] who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city's one and only superhero. OK, sounds good. Good plot. I do have a rumor synopsis. Opsis isn't technically a synopsis. Synopsis. Rumor synopsis. Opsis isn't technically a synopsis. Synopsis. Synopsis. Synopsis in wire synopsis.
[01:11:14] I synopsis synopsis in wires and up sing the synopsis. Exactly. We follow Ben Riley, a PI, as he stumbles down a rabbit hole of corruption in 1933 New York City while also establishing his past as a superhero. Riley investigates the death of Edward Addison, which
[01:11:32] leads him to discover that the mayor is up to something nefarious that involves the crime boss Silvermane and fan fatale Yuri Wantonabe, a.k.a. the Wraith. So tacos on the table. Remember we talked about this last week, Brendan Gleason is Brendan Gleason playing Silvermane.
[01:11:52] That's actually a pretty good prediction. It took me a while. My talk is around the table for this. Yeah, let's do it. Yes, my very. Targaryen, my very normal tacos, actually. This is normal taco sundae. We've been waiting how many episodes for him to just do
[01:12:10] normal tacos and and it's for Spiderman noir. So first, the picture, it looks like he's in the Old West. The way that they've got like his color yet really looks like he's like Old West Spiderman, Spiderman, Spiderman. Spite, Spiderman.
[01:12:31] Well, you know, he's from New York, so he's a Spiderman. OK, so. Taco's tables. Taco's my tacos are on the table. 100 percent. I think that Brendan Gleason is a good actor to begin with, but him and Silvermane would be dope. James. I'm in it.
[01:12:45] Tacos table. I like it. OK. Let's rewind the sling ring, maybe still a DeLorean and snap a star for this next story. OK, I like it. That was my angry comedy. I'm trying something new. Is that good? Get it. Was it too angry? Not angry enough?
[01:13:06] Not angry enough. OK, all right, I need to commit more. I agree. Marvel Studios is in talks with Joe and Anthony Russo to return to direct the next two Avengers movies that have been in development. Those films were previously titled Avengers, the King Dynasty and Avengers Secret Wars.
[01:13:26] Several directors have been in talks to help these films over the past several months, including Sean Levy, blah, blah, blah. We know he can do whatever you want. Sam Raimi. Oh, yeah. Sam Raimi, Spider-Man, and all. It's also no secret that the Russo's are big fans of the
[01:13:43] Secret Wars storylines. Joe Russo once said, we just always answer truthfully when we're asked, would you work with them? Marvel Studios? Of course we would. We adore them. What would you like to do? Secret Wars, that was our favorite series growing up.
[01:14:03] So tacos on the table are the Russo brothers, the real Marvel Jesus? Or are they that can enable? It's just because they were brothers. That's why they became an animal. I mean, yeah, I don't really think that. Let's just go with the Are They the Marvel Jesus?
[01:14:16] I mean, I would say so my tacos are on the table. I know that they want to come back. I wouldn't say that they're the Marvel Jesus because Ryan Reynolds and and and crew are the Jesus of Marvel
[01:14:32] at this point, because after hearing the reviews, you know, I think those guys are the ones Sean Levy and Ryan Reynolds. Should we call them the wise men? I you know what? I say that they're Castro and Paulus. Oh, wow. Oh, that's a good reference.
[01:14:46] Yeah, it is a really good reference. Well, you're doing mythology. But yes, I'm going to say the wise men. I'm going to say they're the wise men. I actually like Levy, Jackman and Reynolds as the wise men of the MCU because there's three of them. Right.
[01:15:01] Yes, my my tacos are definitely on the table. What about you guys? Wonder twins. They're the wonder wonder twins. My my normal looking tacos that sometimes if you really look closely or a little bit green sometimes, you know, they might change a little bit.
[01:15:18] They're they're on the table. That sounds like moldy tacos. Yeah, well, no, no, no, not all the time. They just sometimes they'll change and then. Yeah, that's that's like you get tacos that have mold on them every now and then. That's just weird. That's strange.
[01:15:33] So my tacos are on the table for this because I'm pretty sure the Russos are going to do it. I think they're going to do the next chair of Avengers movies. They we need we need somebody, especially with all the changes that have been made with everything
[01:15:46] like all the crap that's happened. They need directors that they know will give them a good product and a solid storyline. So mm hmm. Jamez tacos on the table for this. Do you think we'll get this at San Diego Comic Con? Oh, 100 percent.
[01:16:02] The whatever news that's coming out about this would be at San Diego. Yeah, I could I could totally see that. So I think I was was this. I think I may have said this on comics podcast. It might have been in the comic book nation podcast,
[01:16:13] but I was saying getting the Russos back would be a nice like reset for everybody because the latest phase of Marvel has been so hit and miss for people. And you know, and you know who who was the bar that had to be beaten them. Yeah, exactly. Exactly.
[01:16:28] So getting them back, getting them back is just as big as getting like Chris Evans or Robert Downey Jr. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. We don't say yes, it is. The Russos are as big as Chris Evans. Do not talk about my third husband that way.
[01:16:43] So maybe these are your fourth and fifth husbands. I'm just throwing out my fourth husband's going to be Manic Jacinto. Don't you listen? I said this last week. I like I like that you have the Filipino part of your harem. Part of your man harem.
[01:16:57] I mean, she already has a Japanese man as the main part of her harem. So I appreciate the representation. That's good. Yeah, I think it would be very it would be a good get for them. Like as much as Sean Levy is amazing.
[01:17:11] He's like the darling right now. But getting the Russos back would be kind of a level set. Like, OK, we heard you, everybody, that you weren't as happy. But right now we're moving forward. It'd be like a nice like here we go or set.
[01:17:23] So I'm down. I'm down. You know, and I'm thinking about it. I think they do better with more characters because we remember. Yeah, everybody likes Winter Soldier. And that was the first movie they did. And that's when they expanded Captain America was Captain America.
[01:17:39] We got Falcon. We had Black Widow. We got Bucky. We had, you know, I mean, there were so many things going on. They had Nick Fury. So to them, it was kind of an audition for an Avengers movies. And then after Civil War, they did the other two
[01:17:55] like they did the Infinity War and Endgame and knocked it out of the park. So they definitely know the sandbox that they're playing at. So so yeah. Well, this next rumor is a little bit toxic. Yeah, like in the Britney Spears way.
[01:18:10] Very much in the Britney Spears way. It's been a long time since there's been any news regarding the Toxic Avenger remake, which stars Game of Thrones Peter Dinklage. Red Band trailer was released almost a year ago and not long after that updates on the movie stopped.
[01:18:25] Now report that director Macon Blair's film is currently considered to be unreleasable. Oh, what? Yeah, OK, a producer of the movie said that the Toxic Avengers commercial prospects are too out there for any sort of traditional theatrical release.
[01:18:42] This would explain why the movie still has no confirmed distributor. So tacos on the table is the Toxic Avenger going to be shelved. You know, I think my tacos, your toxic tacos, one of them didn't come from like a like a, you know,
[01:18:58] Tex-Max restaurant or a truck or anything. It was an Italian restaurant. It's a very non-traditional taco distributed. Oh, I'm thinking that right. Right. Yeah. I don't know. And so I'm thinking that, you know, those tacos are not going to be on the table
[01:19:14] because then they just to there's two non-traditional. Nobody wants the tacos on the table. My truck stop tacos with green, Uzi nacho cheese sauce on top that weren't meant to be green or Uzi are not on the table as well because I think it's going to happen.
[01:19:33] And Dave kind of, you know, shout out to Dave. He kind of gave us a little word that Spencer Wilding, who was in this movie, is going back to do some reshoots in London. So it's probably. Yeah. So. Oh, no, go ahead, Jen. So my, you know,
[01:19:51] now I'm not putting any tacos anywhere near any tables because I, I, you know, a toxic Avenger is not my thing, but I do understand the pulpy goodness of it and I want it to come out. So I'm not going to put any tacos anywhere near any tables.
[01:20:05] I want you to get these MF tacos off these MF tables. Um, so, so here's where my tacos sit. My tacos are on the table for this and it's only because I think that the studios are too afraid of this. The studios were afraid of the original studio.
[01:20:24] Yeah, I feel like the studio is probably sitting here saying, why are we doing this and thinking that there isn't a market for it? And they're going to want to shelf it because they don't think that there's enough market for mainstream market appeal for this.
[01:20:37] Now, does this mean that it's not going to end up streaming somewhere? Probably not. I mean, like it probably will end up stream streaming somewhere. But I don't think that they're going to do a theatrical release on the run on this. That's kind of what I was saying.
[01:20:50] Non traditional tacos. Yeah, I feel like they just don't have confidence in it, which we all know that studio executives are not the greatest judge of character when it comes to what audiences are going to like. They're not the greatest judge of anything really. Right.
[01:21:05] They think that they know these are people who think that they know what people want and have no idea because like, remember, famously Fox said that Deadpool was not going to be a good movie and they gave it a shitty budget
[01:21:17] and said this whenever we barely want to release this. And it is one of the most successful franchises ever at this point. Right at our franchises, at least. So it's like, you know, it's like a lot of what's going on is executives
[01:21:30] thinking they know what fans want or like, again, I kind of get on Disney about this all the time, right? And then predicting what they think is going to make the most money or what they think fans are going to want.
[01:21:40] And it's like, well, no, there's a giant following for the Toxic Avenger. It's going to make money. If that's what they're going to make money. It's a call. It'll make money. You put it in the right thing like how they did with Rocky Horror Picture Show.
[01:21:54] You could actually it could make money and it could be this whole cult thing that people go to. And I mean, it could be amazing. Yeah, I 100 percent believe that. They don't want to do that. But again, it's the studios believing that they know what's best
[01:22:07] and not knowing a damn thing. So yeah, stupid. Well, we shall see. Yeah. Or or again, like, you know, Sony thinks they know what everybody wants and they keep putting out shitty, you know, spider-verse movies that nobody wants. I mean, like, Morbius and Madame Web.
[01:22:23] Morbius and Madame Web. They really thought that those were going to make money. Yeah. Matt Smith couldn't even save that movie. All because because it's morban time. All right. All right. And you know why sometimes they release these things because movies find a way.
[01:22:40] I should say that with a red wig on like Nicole Kidman. I was thinking he should lay down and unbutton his shirt just like Jeff Goldblum and say like, no, no, no one needs to see that. Oh, come on. People are demanding that.
[01:22:57] You got to go to the only fans for that. Here you go. The title for the upcoming Jurassic World movie has reportedly been revealed. The film has been in production since June with Gareth Edwards directing for a script by original Jurassic Park scribe David Cote.
[01:23:10] The rumor title of the film will be Jurassic World Rebirth. Amalyn and Juhayman and Universal Pictures will supposedly release the film on July 2nd, 2025. Is this where all the dinosaurs find Jesus? Yes. And then and then basically it's a crossover of a velocipaster. Yes. Yes. That's good.
[01:23:34] Yeah. Jurassic Park Rebirth and the Velocipaster is the one. Wait, I'm sorry. Who changed my little title here? What happened? Oh, I did not do that. I had a Jurassic Park joke that I was ready for. I had Jurassic Park. Come on. We'll switch it back.
[01:23:54] I don't know what you're talking about. And maybe you can do it. So talk us on the table. Are the dinosaurs finding Jesus? Is it a crossover of a velocipaster? I did not see the third Jurassic World movie. What? How dare you? I have not seen it yet.
[01:24:15] I will. I have heard nothing. I don't know. There's just one plot detail that is just kind of like why. Chris Pratt's stubble was on point. Well, it's always on point. You know, it's I don't. So I don't know. I don't know where you go from here.
[01:24:32] You know, because they want to kind of redo all of Jurassic Park or rebirth. You don't need to. You don't need to reboot it. So Jurassic World Rebirth, the plot ends up being that in all reality, Jurassic Park entire, the entire universe was a part of the Matrix
[01:24:49] and they're rebooting the Matrix. Or you're getting out of the Matrix and you find out that the world is ruled by a bunch of sentient velociraptors. I know, I was going to say, I think, yeah, you just go in different colored wigs.
[01:25:03] Yeah, well, I was gonna say, hence. Planet of the Apes, hence the velocipaster. Right. No, no, I think you go like 500 years into the future. The dinosaurs have taken over. And then there are dino rays and raptors, raptors. Raptors as a real restaurant. Yes. Yes.
[01:25:19] That is an inside joke between just us. Thank you for sharing and explaining. I'm not explaining the joke, but you know, yeah, I said only fans, it's only claws. I'm into that. Quad jobs, in light of all of that, my, you know,
[01:25:45] if you get the more like traditional tacos, they're more scaly. And if you get the newer ones, they're more feathery. So, you know, but they were both on the table. Always in corn tortillas. Yes, always in always in corn tortillas and they all have chicken in them.
[01:26:00] Only chicken. They're all chicken tacos. That is that is a deep cut dinosaur reference for anybody who does not understand that. Which which is also my name. That was my little my little thing before I'm not saying James. What? Don't look at me. Oh, man.
[01:26:20] I'm on your side. I'm on your side. Team I will do anything for money. So my my velocity raptor tacos. Are we allowed to eat velocity raptors? I mean, if we can eat Rantos and I'm sure you like, well, no.
[01:26:36] And if I get their birds, they're just birds, their poultry. The chicken joke is because you don't have to say like that. The chicken joke is because now they're saying that T Rex's were just giant chickens. Yeah, say DNA because all birds are technically dinosaurs. Right.
[01:26:52] Just ended from Therophants. Oh my goodness. Look, this you can't say you don't learn nothing. Look, look, this is just it's nerding. I have different nerds. I've been fandoms and one of them is dinosaurs. That's good.
[01:27:06] I need like I want to go to Disneyland now or Universal Studios and get like a turkey leg, but they call it like a velocity. They need to do like a like a galaxy, but it's Jurassic Park. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, exactly. My talk are on the table.
[01:27:22] That's a perfect name to reboot the franchise and let's Scarlett Johansson take it somewhere. I'm into it. Tacos table done. Yeah, my tacos are on the table 100%. It just seems like something that they would do for my bless your heart.
[01:27:36] Paco around the table where you're Jesus dinosaur tacos. Yeah, exactly. My my my you should believe in the Raptor God, the Carnosaur God, God that the velociraptor leaving. Okay, so that is it. That's our last rumor, ladies and gentlemen. Let's let's jump right into the news.
[01:28:02] How cute that little raptor is. So I know a little raptor should you do you know that raptor's name? No, I it's bluey. Exactly. Moving on. Moving on. Mom. Okay. Great. Great. Take us out of this please. All right.
[01:28:26] Well, ladies and gentlemen, it is now time for the news. Let's get into the download. Okay. Little extra for everybody out there. I like it. I like it. Bonus little something something right. A little cheese of taco and eat it.
[01:28:55] A little cheese of the main intro that we never did. Yeah, young Phil. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Give me a moment here. No, I need you to calm down. Yeah. Okay. It's okay. This is upsetting me like a lot. It's okay. Take a breath. No.
[01:29:08] Breathe in the good. Out. And the good. Out. Who heard her thought about this too, but okay. WNBA weekend has seen a lot of folks in attendance and yesterday featured team WNBA beating USA basketball in an exciting showdown WBA WNBA weekend has seen a lot wait.
[01:29:31] That's the same as that. Okay. Anyway. So Plaza is known as a basketball fan, but she got a little more than she bark and for when she tore her ACL playing a game of knockout at the Phoenix Mercury practice facility.
[01:29:45] So she was going to play in there like celebrity thing and she tore ACL and so now she can't do it. So brace yourself.
[01:29:54] Mar-Marvel's Agatha all along from your September 18th magically with two episodes that have nothing to do with the picture on your screen or what happened to- No. This is just, this is just us loving on Avogada. Whoever broke her-
[01:30:09] And hoping that she actually that she doesn't have permanent damage on her ACL. Yeah. Whoever tore her ACL I will find you and I will kill you. I have a certain set of skills. Just look at his muscles. You really want to- Look at those guns.
[01:30:25] You really want to mess with them? Never wearing a tank top again. So I was reading this article. Maybe if I get more viewership if you do, I don't know. I know right? Maybe I should flex just- Yeah there you go. See? Do that.
[01:30:40] Do that the entire show. Just dripping sweat with the flexing muscles. Let me move the microphone so you can see both arms. There you go. You gotta like cheat closer so your arm looks bigger. You can't lean back like that. There you go.
[01:30:55] Give me some of that definition. Show me that deltoid, you know what I'm saying? But I was reading this article. This isn't the first time she tore her ACL and it's not the first time she tore her ACL playing basketball. Yeah.
[01:31:11] So I mean she probably does have an injury. She enjoys playing basketball. She does have an injury. She enjoys her basketball everyone. There's nothing wrong with that. Yeah and so I was reading the article.
[01:31:23] The first time she tore it, she was in like a pickup league down in LA or whatever. But she literally had a wig on and she used her sister's name because she didn't want to be like- Oh so they would know who she was?
[01:31:35] So she didn't want to know who she was. And so she's under this false identity, goes to this you know rec center, tears her ACL on the cord and she has to like limp out of there all by herself. Nobody knows who she is.
[01:31:47] Oh Aubrey Plaza, tough for you. Aubrey Plaza, you're so bad. I bet she's going to make a leg brace look sexy though. You know what I mean? Oh yeah. Stop it, right? Again, she can make most things look sexy. Stop it.
[01:32:00] I just want to travel the world with her. Stop it. I have a thoughts are in my head. Okay. All right. I'm so distracted in news. Netflix has given a series green light to the new horror drama series titled something very
[01:32:16] bad is going to happen from executive producers and stranger things creators, the Duffer brothers and Hillary LeVette. Leave it. Leave it. Just leave it. Leave it. Leave it. Leave it. Leave it. Leave it. Leave it. Leave it. Leave it. Leave it. Leave it. Leave it. Leave it.
[01:32:39] Putting the following bride and groom in the week leading up to their ill fated jewels. I want to try them. Let me try that long line. You always do the whispering thing. In a war. Let me try the log line. Let me try it. Please do it, please.
[01:32:51] Something very bad is going to happen. Okay. It's an atmospheric horror series set at a wedding following a bride room in the week leading up to their ill fated matcha walls. That was much better. Hey, it's a much better. Young Phil just be the eye candy.
[01:33:08] You know what? We'll handle the show. That's me the eye candy. I love it. I love it. That is like the now long running joke. It's time the eye candy. That's the name of the episode, right? Oh, yeah. That's the name of the episode.
[01:33:26] We got the rest of the show. Just relax. That would be our good. Just keep flexing like you're in a Mr. Universe contest. OK? Oh my god. Tighten the glutes. Tighten the glutes. From Tadum News to Kia News. Kia! Kia! Kia! Kia! Kia!
[01:33:48] The first part of Cobra Kai season six is out now on Netflix. Tadum. The second part of Cobra Kai sixth and final season is coming sooner than expected to Netflix. Tadum. Good luck. The series which wrapped production in June is a spin off of the original Cratty Kid
[01:34:13] film franchise and is now positioned as the link between the classic series and the rebooted 2010 Jackie Chan version. You guys watch? You guys watch Cobra Kai? Absolutely. Yeah, I'm totally watching Cobra Kai. I've been all five episodes yesterday. That's awesome. I love Cobra Kai.
[01:34:31] I want to binge watch it so I'm waiting until it finishes and then I'm going to watch all of it. No. This is season six. You can start watching it now. No, I can do it my way.
[01:34:42] The blocks of episodes originally set to release on November 28th has moved up two weeks and will now drop November 15th. I like that. That's so much better because there's a bunch of stuff coming out like Thanksgiving weekend. Was that a velociraptor? That was a velociraptor, yeah.
[01:35:02] Is somebody killing a velociraptor? OK, all right. Oh, God. I wish we had a master chef around here. Oh, I see what you did there. Uh, looks like Master Chief might have taken his helmet off for the last time. That's a two for right there.
[01:35:25] That's a two for right there. If you played Halo, you know what that sound is. Oh, especially if you turn on a grunt party when you headshot a grunt. All right, Paramount Plus has canceled its series adaptation of Halo after two
[01:35:45] seasons but Amblin Television, Xbox and 343 Studios are currently shopping the series around in hopes to find a new home. And I 100% hope that if they do that they actually care about what's there like the lore that's there and we no longer have this crappy
[01:36:04] ass Master Chief out of the out of the armor. I'm sorry, like their argument and I think James is also making this argument after season one. Their argument is yeah, but you can't write a nuanced character if you're if they're wearing a helmet all the time. Mandalorian. Exactly.
[01:36:20] I was saying bullshit. Mandalorian doesn't take his helmet off. He takes them off twice. Right. I think that if they would have done a series that actually cared about the fans like if they did what Fallout did and did something
[01:36:31] that actually lives in the universe and was something that was actually something that the fans enjoyed and you did like a end of season one reveal and he takes his helmet off. That would have been so much better than, oh, let's take his helmet
[01:36:43] off in the first episode and now he doesn't have it on the entire series. Yeah. You know, but how was the story? The story was OK. I wouldn't say that it was like amazing. I wouldn't say like, oh my god, more upset about the story
[01:36:55] then than if he has his helmet on or off. I I'm upset that they bastardized the character. I'm upset that they didn't they didn't do there's so much lore and story that they could have gone with what I did like is OK.
[01:37:10] Yeah, you did kind of go that they did go into John's fire team, which was kind of cool. You did go and kind of get into that last name. Fire team. No, saying they went into John's fire team. Right. And is that like a bathroom?
[01:37:25] No, John is his name. Names on the last name was numbers, I think. Yeah, Master Chief John is his name. Yeah, John Master Chief John Fire team. Yeah, sure. We'll go with that one. But I mean, like there's there's novels, there's comic books, kind of what
[01:37:38] say Wang Tsing in the chat. There are there's so much you can go off of there. Like you don't have to do this whole, you know, let's we have to give him a sex scene and we have to take off his armor for the entire show.
[01:37:55] No, he should always leave the helmet on and sex scene. Yes. 100 percent to happen. That's 100 percent to be there. OK, once again, I don't know if he has working. I'm pretty sure he doesn't have junk. I think that's how they watch in Idaho.
[01:38:10] That is how they watch born in Idaho is that you have to wear you have to have a helmet and a VPN. I want to be the rest of the United States. Yeah. And it's it big VPN wants to sponsor us. We'll say a certain. Oh, yeah.
[01:38:25] Oh my God, if we ever got sponsors for VPN, the jokes about porn in Idaho would be endless. Yes. So the scaredy cat VPNs no need to apply. I am so excited about this. We will sell the hell out of your VPN. There you go.
[01:38:44] From Paramount News to Amazon is I mean news. Is it? It's not bad. They're pretty well. That can manipulate blood. That's it. But she's really awesome. There's also a character that can manipulate his penis. But I mean, yeah. Oh my God. I mean, technically, everyone could do that.
[01:39:05] But you know, manipulated in a way where he turns it into like basically look. No, no, no. Nope. He hasn't seen any of the boys. So I don't say he can manipulate it in a way where basically he turns into scorpions, like, you know, hand thing.
[01:39:20] It's just yeah. It's what you guys can't do that. That was my. What's in the water in Oklahoma? A lot. Way more than fluoride. The second season of Gen V is officially in production and has been for the better part of the past two months.
[01:39:39] Oh, Eric Kripke, you will tease after tease earlier this month featuring Gen V star Jazz Sinclair, Amazon NGM Studio Aussie boss, Vernon Sanders has confirmed the show's second batch of episodes are now filming. The rap confirmed the show is aiming for a 2025 release.
[01:40:02] I really enjoyed the first season. Oh, yeah. It was good. And then I watched it late because of the blood manipulating character. It's just weird for me. But I got over that and then I got over the person that turns from a girl
[01:40:14] to a boy over and over and over again. And those were some hot scenes, I have to say. And then and then like some of the kids show up in the boys in the season of the boys spoiler.
[01:40:25] I mean, it was it was I didn't say who I didn't say in what capacity. Just it was inevitable. It's they live in the same universe. So it's not something that's like crazy. But I mean, like, do Gen V was really good.
[01:40:38] I am excited for a second season. And yeah, if you haven't watched the latest season of the boys, get on it, guys. It is it is it is epic. Yes. Yeah. Like some of the stuff that went on is so dark
[01:40:51] and not in just like a blood and guts kind of way. Yeah. It like gets really dark. And I do have to say I really enjoy Sage in it. Yes. Yeah, it was great. I love Sage. I saw a lot of people complaining on Twitter about about Sage
[01:41:07] in the last episode and it's like, no, shut up. Get over it. She know that's exact. The way she reacted is exactly what the smartest person on the planet would do. Right. Did it to do it. I mean, that's honestly. And I think, yeah, that was perfect.
[01:41:23] And everything that she did because again, without giving spoilers, everything that she did was in character. Everything that she did was was genius. And, you know, again, she's a master manipulator. Obviously, if you're the most if you're the smartest person in the world,
[01:41:39] you're going to be a master manipulator. And she's she did it with with pros. It was it was amazing. Think of Belma if she was evil and that's who Sage is. Right. So so yeah, let's let's continue on
[01:41:51] because we do have a lot of news to cover. We do. Yes. From oh, my Mr. Darcy to this next story is elementary. Colin Firth has joined Guy Ritchie's upcoming young Sherlock series, which is set up at Prime Video.
[01:42:07] Firth joins hero finds Zine saying Joseph finds and Natasha, McKellen. Hmm. All right. I have no idea if I did any of those right. But you get them all perfectly. Are they all related to Ralph Fiennes? Yes. I don't know if Zine saying is. Well, no, no, no.
[01:42:29] Tasha's not unless she's married to one of them, I guess. Great uncle Zine saying there you go. The series is described as an action packed origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's beloved detective and an explosive reimagining of this iconic character at age 19.
[01:42:47] Sherlock Holmes is disgraced, raw, unfiltered and unformed. But he finds himself caught up in a murder mystery at Oxford University, which threatens his freedom. Diving in to his first ever case with a wild black discipline. Sherlock manages to unravel a globetrotting conspiracy that will change his life forever.
[01:43:07] Played by Zine saying. Having been able to solve the case on a release date for the series. I mean, I am skeptical. I think it's going to be amazing. I think it's going to be amazing too. Thank you. Yeah, I'm into it.
[01:43:20] Give me some. I'm not against this at all. I am wary of them trying to turn Sherlock Holmes into an action hero because there's no dinosaurs in it. Is that why? No. But see, here's the thing. Because Guy Ritchie did the two movies with.
[01:43:35] Ingsman? No. No, he did the two movies with Jula and Robert Downey Jr. Robert Downey Jr. Oh, there you go. So that's the thing is I don't feel like he is going because there was the right amount of action with those with those characters.
[01:43:48] Like because it wasn't like he was an action hero. It was like if he had to fight, he had to fight and he knew what he was doing. You know, so I feel like if Guy Ritchie respects it
[01:43:58] the way that he did with those movies, I don't see him doing it wrong. You know, like it's just going to be more. I feel like it's going to be like a more scrappy Sherlock Holmes because he's probably not as refined a fighter. Right.
[01:44:09] Because remember, it's not like, you know, he's like, oh, he's the best fighter ever. He's he's just a dude who knows how to box, but he also knows how to analyze everything. So he, you know, right?
[01:44:18] You know, so which makes him seem like he's better than he is. Right. Exactly. You know, it's just especially like I love the scenes where he slows it down and like analyzes, OK, if I hit him here, I'll break his rib.
[01:44:29] And if I hit him here, it'll do this and it'll cause him to do this and all this kind of like you see this overanalyzation that is very in line with Sherlock Holmes and applying that to him getting in a fight.
[01:44:41] So like I'd love to see him at 19 having those deductive skills, but getting his ass kicked a lot because he's still trying to figure himself out. Yeah. Yeah. But I mean, like, you know, he's trying to figure himself out. You know what I mean? So. OK.
[01:44:53] I wonder if this is going to connect. I assume it's going to connect to the to the other films. Right. I take Colin first, the bad guy. I can see that. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The Moriarty. I was going to say also,
[01:45:04] this is probably going to be like the origins of how he meets Moriarty. Maybe. Yeah. Because even in Guy Ritchie's first two movies, he already knew Moriarty. No, he didn't. Did he not? No. I thought I thought he found out who Moriarty was in the first one.
[01:45:18] Right. In the second one. And then that's when he. Yeah, but he didn't know who he was prior to that. Because Moriarty purposefully didn't let himself be known. That's right. Well, like maybe maybe like this is the origin of like Moriarty
[01:45:31] because Moriarty was a professor at Oxford, wasn't he? Yeah. He was a professor. I don't remember what school it was, but I remember he was a professor at Naively. Yeah. And it may be that that may be how they tied together.
[01:45:42] But Sherlock may not know that he's Moriarty. Yeah. So I like how this is giving off like Sherlock Holmes Batman year one vibes. Yeah. Sherlock Holmes year one. Yeah, exactly. See that I'm into it. So am I. All right. In Yabba-dabba don't news.
[01:46:01] Bedrock is Yabba-dabba done at Fox. The adult reboot of the Flintstones with the network's developments a sequel to the classic primetime cartoon about the modern Stone Age family from the town of Bedrock is not moving forward. First announced in 2019, the adult oriented Flintstone sequel was
[01:46:19] to be produced by Warner Brothers Animation, which is of Max's Harley Quinn fame and Elizabeth Banks, Elizabeth Banks, Brownstone Productions, picture of a big number in Berlin, stuff like that with banks set to executive produce and voice a grown up Pebbles Flintstone.
[01:46:34] So they were like going really deep into like when they did the Flintstones teams and they had Pebbles and Bam Bam as teenagers. And I adored that. So I really am disappointed in this. But it is no longer happening. I am disappointed.
[01:46:51] I just pulled up the cast list. I mean, it's kind of shown right there. But the more I was like, who won? Who who wanted this? Who who needs this? But then after I'm reading through the cast, I'm like, I think I kind of wanted this.
[01:47:03] Yeah, Steven Root, Amy Sedaris, you got Manny Jacinto, Elizabeth Banks. I mean, what the heck? What's his name? I don't know how to say. Jolo Trujuglio from Brooklyn Nine-Nine, who was super funny. Blin nine nine. Yeah, hello. For any chance? But I'll say Cholo. I'm OK with that.
[01:47:23] What are they? What the manager sent to his Bam Bam, though? Yeah, I can see that just because like the way he plays the way he played this character in in the acolyte, like just kind of like a lazy Bam Bam.
[01:47:38] Like, you know, just kind of like like a jokey lazy kid. Like I think that that would be great. Did you see him in the good place? Yeah, because he's a total like Miami like him, though. And so I think that would be great.
[01:47:50] Yeah, he clearly can do either way. So what what I like is we got Jolo Trujuglio. I think he's Italian and then as Barney Rubble and then Nicole Byer from what's she on? Like is it cake or something like that? No, nailed it. Nailed it. Oh, oh yeah.
[01:48:08] I love it. He's great. Velma and then many. Oh, as Betty and then many has sento or just sento as Bam Bam. Yeah, yeah. It's a very culturally diverse family. Yeah, I guess so say one saying Cambridge. Yeah, that already was Cambridge. I think that's what it is.
[01:48:27] Yeah. Um, yeah, no, I think that and that's actually good if it's at Oxford because they have such the rivalry Oxford and Cambridge. Right. Mm hmm. OK, let's keep it sometimes that rivalry turns into murder. Murder. Absolutely does. On the dance floor. It's Glenn Powell's world.
[01:48:46] We're just watching it. Sorry. Twisters and Top Gun Maverick star Glenn Powell might be starring in a remake of director Ron Howard's classic 1991 film Backdrap. What the hell? I mean, did we just run out of things to like make movies?
[01:49:03] Well, if you look at the movies that he's in, right? Twisters, Top Gun and Backdrap. Later. Yes, we did. Yeah. Well, I mean, yeah, because like Quisters, that's like a remake. Oh, it's a sequel. Or well, like a sequel, I guess. And then Top Gun Maverick. Yeah.
[01:49:20] I mean, seriously, dude, seriously. He's a sequel guy. Come up with new things. OK, producer Brian Grazer. Oh, here we go. Revealed to new ones C and B.C. And said these formats of the late 90s and the 2000s have
[01:49:35] become very important because the streamers or studios are right now even more risk averse. They like brands that are already established that people have high level of awareness to do the brick remembers backdrop. I do. Never mind where you actually add a new twist are really interesting
[01:49:56] casting, which is of course what we're doing with ours. Really? We're doing something with Sydney Sweeney, which I'm very excited about. Of course, he's better than Ryan. He's better than that. Do you know what color Sydney's eyes are, Brian?
[01:50:10] We're doing something with Scarlett Johansson, also very excited about. And I mentioned Glenn Powell with backdrop again. Do you know what color Scarlett Johansson's eyes are there, Brian? Bri Bri. Do you know what color Glenn Powell's eyes are? No, he's wearing freaking sunglasses.
[01:50:26] That's what I'm saying all the time. Hey, hey, my eyes are up here. Not right there. Hey, my eyes are up here. Hey, James. I'm looking at you. Look at our shoulder. I'm saying James. My eyes are up here, not here.
[01:50:35] My eyes are flexing, keep flexing up here, James. Hey, I see your eyes up there, but you know where my eyes are. You know what I'm saying? Right there. Anyway, speaking of Brian Grazer. Whoever continuing the Brian Grazer spilling the T news,
[01:50:54] 20th century studios and imagine entertainment are an early development on a feature film adaption for the hit action thriller series 24. Oh my gosh. And you know what's funny? Than 24 25. 25. This is like 10 years too late. I'm sorry. OK, I know it was my childhood.
[01:51:18] Is that Glenn Powell up there? Oh no. Up here, up here. Good news. Down here. Hinted at a potential feature version of the series in a recent interview with CNBC, the original Fox series starring Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Barr as an agent from the US government's fictitious counter
[01:51:43] terrorist unit that series ran for nine seasons between 2001 and 2014. And in the middle, they also threw in a 2008 movie titled 24. We're a damn show. Yeah, like I said, 10 years too late. I don't think if they're going to do a movie, I don't think it's going to work.
[01:52:04] You blow the whole premise of 24. The whole premise is that the TV show each freaking episode is one hour in that day. Yeah. Are you going to have 24 different movies? Exactly. Exactly. You know, if they could get away with it, they probably could.
[01:52:21] Unless they call the movie like one hour and 57 minutes, then I don't want it. Exactly. Two hours, 30 minutes. Exactly. With credits. You got to. With credits, right? Including trailers. I like the show a lot, but that's part of the gimmick is that
[01:52:38] like it's an hour of this day, you know? So that's what I want. Are they going to have Kiefer Sutherland in a wheelchair just wheeling around everywhere? Oh my God. I mean, he's not in a wheelchair now, but I mean, his character could be. Yeah.
[01:52:49] Or did his character die? I didn't watch the last season. You know why? Because the premise got stale after like season three. And then I went nine with a movie. I am OK. All right, all right. My blood pressure and blood pressure is high.
[01:53:03] Yeah, well, let's keep it high because in in mouths, hiding another mouths news. And with the good. Oh, with the bad. Noah Hawley's Alien series, which is set up at FX, has completed production and the official title has been revealed that title is Alien Earth. Oh, wow.
[01:53:23] Oh, is this the new Stargate thing? I don't know. Right. I mean, it could be with the way that the naming convention works, right? The story is set three decades before the events of Ridley Scott's 1979 classic Alien and a few years before Prometheus,
[01:53:40] the series will find the characters caught in a conflict with the beginning of artificial intelligence and the competition among developers and users. Hawley also talked about the project saying it's about how we're trapped between the primordial past and the artificial intelligence of our future.
[01:53:56] We are where both are trying to kill us. This seems if there's not any aliens in this and it's just like, oh, I scary. I don't know how interested I am in this. They have to have aliens. OK, I have a theory. OK, theorize this.
[01:54:13] So in all technicality, the alien universe and the Blade Runner universe are the same universe. Kind of. Yeah. Yeah. So this is just a Blade Runner series. Yeah. I mean, it's just basically it's essentially going to be cyberpunk. That's all it is.
[01:54:26] Yeah, it's just a Blade Runner series. Yeah. They're calling it alien because that I don't know. Maybe that's more recognizable or something. But is there just like a. Do you think they'll make the alien take a Talbot off? Yes. Yeah.
[01:54:36] But if there are no aliens in a series called alien, that's kind of pointless. You're you're finally going to see the face behind the second mouth. Oh, there we go. You know who it is? Michigan Jay Fra. Hello, my. That's a W. Bear. The W. The W. Brrr.
[01:54:58] I think I have a Michigan Jay Frog plushie somewhere in the words of Dave Chappelle, a racist ass frog. That was a gaslighting frog, actually. Yeah. Oh my God. Speaking of the terrors of artificial intelligence, it's the Emmys. That's your really good joke, man.
[01:55:25] Keep going. Or I guess the way it's seven degrees outside. It's time to get your warm, long sleeved cotton tuxedo ready. I was going to say the way we feel about the Emmys right now. Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Slow horses got some pretty good not.
[01:55:47] And Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced the nominees for the 76th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, covering TV shows and made for TV movies that were released in 2023. The Emmys exist to celebrate excellence in television
[01:56:00] and have voted on by Academy members who know nothing about excellence in television. Professionals. Oh, and yeah, TV industry professionals who vote on the work of their peers again know nothing about excellence in television. This year is a more wide open field because we've had in a while
[01:56:14] the number of last year's big winners no longer eligible for consideration. That's how the profession, Ted Lasso and Better Call Saul all ended last year and shows like Beef and The Last of Us did not get any new season out during the consideration period for nomination.
[01:56:27] The Bear, which dominated its categories last year, earned 23 total nominations, including writing, directing and technical. That's more than any other comedy series has ever nabbed in one year. Shugun was similarly dominant, earning 25 total nods, which was not a record in the drama category,
[01:56:42] in spite of being two ahead of the Bears at record breaking pace. There's more than one. Before we do all these, let's do them like they would when they're announcing the shows. Let's each take a category and we'll announce each of the things. I won't say anything else.
[01:56:58] Just this is the category here, the nominee. What do you say? Who's taking one here? Frey, do the first one so we know. OK, I'll do outstanding comedy series. Hi, kid. Can everybody can everybody can everybody can everybody hear me? OK, thanks for getting up so early, everybody.
[01:57:16] Thank you. Thank you. OK, I'm here to announce outstanding comedy series. I'm so excited. All right. First up, Avinelah Mitre. Curve your enthusiasm. You curb it now. Hacks. Only murders in the building. Home Royale. Reservation dogs. The Bear. I mean, and finally, what we do in the shadows.
[01:57:52] Thank you to all the nominees. Good luck, everyone. And maybe odd, definitely in your favor. Yeah. All right. Are we going down or across? Let's go down. All right. Who's next, Bill? I thought he was OK. In the category of outstanding lead actress
[01:58:13] in a comedy series, Kinta Brunson and Abbot Elementary. I.O. Etterberry in The Bear. Let's get an old quick. Selena Gomez and only murders in the building. Maya Rudolph in Lute. Jean Smart in Hacks. And Kristen Wiig in Palm Royale. OK, I love that she was trying.
[01:58:42] And James is just like, OK, can we end this? I just wanted to get to my part where I go outstanding lead actor in a comedy series in Dean Amundzumina. Anyway, is there anything that stands out for I only put in the comedy drama and then out?
[01:59:05] No drama's pretty good. I still hear that the bear ends up in comedy. Now what? Yeah. Now, why pretel is House the Dragon on here? Did it miss the boat? Yes, I think it missed it. Yeah, I think it missed it and missed the cut off.
[01:59:18] I, you know, the drama series like fall out. I mean, no, they're pretty solid. Like three body problem. Like I'm pretty like show guns. They're excited about that. I mean, I figured Shogun, like slow horses, the crown and the gilded age are probably be there
[01:59:36] because they're like tradition, like the traditional what you would see. Yeah. So in the morning shows been nominated before. So but yeah, fallout, which is a technically a sci-fi series, the three body problem as well, which is very much a sci-fi.
[01:59:50] Right. Fallout to see that fall out as genre. And you know, genre usually doesn't get nominations. So I mean, that's pretty good. Reservation dogs. I'm glad to see that in comedy. Yeah, on there because it's a really good. It's it's one of those small shows that
[02:00:06] but it's really good. The writing I have not seen it, but I really want to. So I like that. Palm Royale, which is on Apple TV plus with Kristen Wiig. I don't know if you guys watch that series, but I enjoyed that show a lot.
[02:00:19] It is on our list. But we have yet to see it because we're catching up on stuff. But yeah, it's definitely not one of those ones that's like sits at the top of your list, but we sat and watched it. And I liked it a lot.
[02:00:30] Ricky Martin is in it and he was really good at it. It was really good. Yeah, it's there are a lot of repeats here, too. You know, I'm also really interested in in how they pick like the actual leads in TV series
[02:00:44] because a lot of these TV series are very like ensembles. Ensembles. Yeah. And so like like Walton Goggins being a lead actor in a drama series. Yeah. And like that very here. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's a very ensemble show. Yes. I mean, I think that's interesting.
[02:01:02] It's nice to see so many different people that we actually, you know, that we know from other things and they're getting they're getting their due and that. So that's nice. So Donald Glover, Hiryuki Sonata, like, yeah. I am so happy about Anna Swai for Show Gunn.
[02:01:17] She was so freaking awesome in that series. She was. Yes, she was. If she made that series, she was the blue for that series. I don't know how they're going to keep going without her. So I mean, we talked about this.
[02:01:30] I don't know how they're going to keep going in general because. Yeah, like they're going off of a story that that's I would still think you just cover different historical periods. And that's what I hope that they do. But I mean, Hiryuki Sonata.
[02:01:42] Hiryuki Sonata has said that he's involved. So it's like seems like they're staying in Japan. But yeah, well, it could be a different era of Japanese history, too. Yeah, it could be. I just love that I would love it to be more of an anthology
[02:01:54] where each season is a different story that they tell. Especially considering the writer had a whole series about adventures in Asia, like you can do the Korean story. Like there you go. Yeah, there you go. Yeah, there you go. There you go. All right. Yeah, so yeah.
[02:02:09] And just one more thing, sadly, in Hollywood, most Asian actors or even of a specific ethnicity are, you know, typically anywhere in Asia. Oh, yeah. It's not good, but, you know, yeah. For some reason, Korean actors tend to play like everything. Right. That's yeah.
[02:02:24] So except in Star Wars. Shout out Star Wars. That's Asians. Yeah, that Koreans. They got Filipinos for them that aren't like, you know, typecast it as Asian characters. Right. That's exactly. Well, let's also screw you to the fans that don't like it. All right. Oh, yes.
[02:02:41] Let's go ahead and move on to this last story here, guys. Santa's a bitch. The microwave chimichangas are almost done. Marvel has released the track list of songs that are used in Deadpool and Wolverine and it features a wide variety of songs from several popular musicians.
[02:02:57] One of the most interesting, though, is The Greatest Showman, which is a song from Jackman's movie, The Greatest Showman. Here's the full track list for Deadpool and the Wolverine soundtrack. Only you and you alone by the platters. Is that the only you? Yeah, I think so.
[02:03:14] Can make the world so nice or something whatever. I don't know the size. No, the. And of course, but by and sing Angel of the Morning again. Oh, that was from Ted Blassom. But he Angel of the Morning they also did in the first movie.
[02:03:31] It was one. Yeah. Yeah. Slash by Stray Kids. Oh, I love Stray Kids. Glamorous by Fergie. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Taking him back to the 90s with Iris from the Goo Goo Dolls. And of course, the power of love,
[02:03:48] Huey Lewis in the news also famous from Back to Future. I'm a rambling man by Waylon Jennings. I do love that song. You belong. You belong to me by Patti Klein. I am not doing that song. By Krista Berg. I'm with you by Avril Lavigne.
[02:04:08] So like this is really a. Neclectic. This is really a neclectic soundtrack. Yeah, The Greatest Showman from The Greatest Showman by Zach Efron, Zendaya, Hugh Jackman and Kila Seidle and The Greatest Showman Ensemble. Mm hmm. OK, there's. There's a joke there. You're the one that's introducing Wolverine.
[02:04:29] That's the. I what I think is going to happen and, you know, correct me if I'm wrong, people who have seen the movie early, AKA Albie. This is going to be like they're going to get in the car
[02:04:43] together and he's going to be like, oh, I've got some tunes and put on The Greatest Showman. And he's going to look at it like turn the shit off. That's right. That's before the. Pew, pew, pew, pew. Yeah, but that's what causes you.
[02:04:55] That's what causes the fight in the minivan is that Deadpool turns on the radio and it's that. But I guarantee you it's the joke is going to be like he puts the song on and Hugh Jackman is going to be like, what the fuck is this?
[02:05:06] Yeah, the shit sounds terrible. Bullshit. Exactly. Exactly. Right. Because I mean, he can be meta about his own shit. Right. So. Oh yeah. Of course, you're the one that I want by Olivia, Olivia Newton, John and John Travolta. I'll be seeing you by Jimmy Durant.
[02:05:27] That's the I'll be seeing you in all the familiar places. Make me make me lose control by Eric Carmen, not Cartman, Carmen. Okay. Music. You're all I need to get. OK. You're all I need to get by by Aretha Franklin, but it's the one with the royal Philharmonic
[02:05:50] Ark Philharmonic Orchestra. Man. Yeah. Good riddance time of your life by Green Day. That's gonna be so big. And I hope you have the time of your life. Shut up. And then LFG Let's Fucking Go is the theme from Deadpool Wolverine by Rob Simonson.
[02:06:13] So all these things, the vinyl soundtrack is available for preorder now with an expected shipping date of July 24th just ahead of Deadpool Wolverine's July 26th release. So tomorrow I'm going to go ahead and put it on my my iTunes download, so it'll just download automatically.
[02:06:30] So it's that comes out tomorrow. There it is. Cool. Let me let me go ahead and see. And if you wanted to, I mean, it's already on Spotify. You know, so many people have made playlists. So it's up there. Yeah, exactly.
[02:06:43] It's not a hard, hard thing to get. Yeah. If you're looking for it on there and kind of thing there. That's pretty cool though. I'm not going to say are you guys talking to me about that? No, I'm just we're talking in general.
[02:06:55] We're just sort of ambitiously discussing. Yeah. So I mean, you don't have to go out and buy it. You know, you can just go get the Spotify playlists for free so you can save your money for merch because and that's merch people. We got merch people.
[02:07:12] Nice. That was good. It was good. I was waiting for it because I was like, he's got the transition coming. I know him. I know Jim. You know, we don't got though. We don't got a hat. No. But we got we got shirts.
[02:07:25] So all you got to do is DM us at distance learning and you can have a shirt too or have multiple shirts. Let us know what size you're looking for. What color you're looking for. You can have a black logo shirt or the gray.
[02:07:37] I forgot what color gray character shirt. You can have either one. Let us know the sizes. How many are you looking for? Twenty bucks each if you're local in Sacramento or local in Medford this weekend. Medford, Oregon. You're in Oregon. Make your way to Medford.
[02:07:51] You can get some shirts. Twenty bucks. You got to go find Ming Chen. Ming Chen got our last hat. Yes. And so you want to get your hat back. Oh, nope. Sandra said that they still have. Or they'll find the DeLong's. They'll find the DeLong's.
[02:08:07] That's why that's why Young Phil had to get a haircut. It's because he doesn't have hat. Apparently Bruce wears it to school. So I mean, I can't hate him for that. I appreciate the advertising. That's good. Yeah. We should probably like stop cursing as much
[02:08:22] than if he's wearing it to school. No, Bruce. Well, I mean, yeah, it's fine for Bruce. I don't know about other kids that like. Wait, what is the show? Yeah. What what greatest person? Third, fourth will be in fourth. Yeah. Coming up fourth.
[02:08:33] Oh, I'm not worried about the PTO. He just turned nine. So I mean, oh, no, I was like, I was like, if he was in high school, that's whatever. They've heard worse. But yeah, well, I was going to say, if he's in high school,
[02:08:44] I ain't saying shit about it, but yeah. No, we've hung out with the DeLong's while we're all drinking. He's definitely Bruce has heard worse. Yes. Oh, God, you should have heard some of the jokes over in Reno that we're throwing out there.
[02:08:58] And he's just he's just sitting there chilling. Doesn't care. Yeah. He probably wasn't even listening. He told you all out. Oh, exactly. It was like that. It was like. That is exactly how it works. So 20 bucks to your local 25 if we got to ship it to you. Exactly.
[02:09:17] So let's get it. And they don't block it in Idaho, like they do porn. So. Oh, man. So let's get into the schedule, ladies and gentlemen, Mondays from eight to 12, we do game streams. I've actually rebranded the game streams. I called it hanging with young Phil.
[02:09:35] Oh, did we all vote on it? Not. You know, this is a democracy drama. This is a I know. I know. And it's just a philocracy. It's a haker. Is it? Yeah. Philocracy. Exactly. Philocracy. There's my definition of my shoulders. Yeah.
[02:09:55] That that that man wishes that he had arms that look like mine. My deltoids are. My arms aren't really that buff. They just look really good on camera right now. My arms are huge, but I'm just like looking at it. I'm like, God, I look pretty good.
[02:10:13] I'm not. Yeah, especially when you do that, especially when you do this. No, you do that because then I go actually look at it and I'm like, no, I'm not that buff. It's the lighting. The light makes it look like six thirty eight thirty.
[02:10:28] Watch the download to see young Phil's muscles from six thirty to eight thirty on Tuesdays. Maybe we should sell some ring lights. Maybe that'll get people interested. You know, this this would be a real excuse for for normally fans like, yeah,
[02:10:44] look at me turn the ring light up. This make it does make them look more defined. Look at that. The lighting makes me look buff. OK, I'm less upset with myself. You look like it looks like you got Wolverine arms right now. I kind of do.
[02:11:01] I kind of like no cap, no cap. Look at it. Look at it. You know, no cap. No, no. The belt. So I have a quick story to tell. Why don't they look like that in real life? I need a better.
[02:11:17] Hey, why do you think I look so good? I got an amazing ring light. It's like, I'm like, I'm like, why don't I look like this in real life? I'm looking at them and they don't look like that. You know what they say?
[02:11:28] The camera adds 10 pounds, 10 pounds of muscle to my arms. Oh, my God. All right, Thursday's the build from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Ladies and gentlemen, this week, our guest is a actor, producer and writer, Brian Elliott coming on to the show, talking about his career
[02:11:49] and all the fun things that we that he's got going on and whatnot. And then, of course, on our schedule, building. Oh, I'm still building the land speeder, the land speeder. Oh, that's cool. All right. Cool.
[02:12:01] And then, of course, we talk about the guests, but we hardly ever talk about what you built. That's true. It's true. We talk more about your arms this week, especially at the end of the week. Of course, ladies and gentlemen, find your way to Medford, Oregon.
[02:12:13] Come and hang out with us at Metal Art Comic Con. We will be there all day. I will be on stage all day. Thanks to James. So you're actually it's not all day relaxed. You got like a three hour day. Relax. Oh, God.
[02:12:28] So that is it for our schedule. All right, plugables. Let's talk about your balls. Shadoozies. Yeah, you do because because your mom would rather not do plugables because she wants you to do. Yeah. Yeah. You get to go first. Yeah. And then my plugable.
[02:12:40] But show your arm while you do it. So I am. Yeah. Videos on YouTube and on Instagram. I do show shows music, world building, TTRPGs and other duty stuff. I'm also on. Oh, the show. Where we take your favorite pop culture characters and play
[02:12:56] some of their respective D&D classes. Jules, the classes is actually over. It ended a few weeks ago. The final episode and the entire series is up on Frays Channel, Freigirl currently, and we're still worth dropping a series to place it.
[02:13:09] In the meantime, we are filming season two of Classified. So keep a lookout for that. I'm also in the distance learning sphere. I am on the download on Tuesdays. The very show you're watching right now, the build on Thursdays.
[02:13:20] And I am on Kyber Cave Productions for the Saturday morning nerd out. And now the new order. The new order. Order, execute order. When it releases, which, you know, could be any time within the next few months. Hey, hey, are you filming some of that?
[02:13:35] Oh, they've already filmed the entire season. They filmed everything. Season one. Yeah. Uh, apparently season one a while back. Apparently episode one is finally getting edited. So we are. Yeah, I think that's as close. So you're playing.
[02:13:48] Are you playing D&D or are you playing a different game? The new order. Can we disclose that yet? I don't know if we can disclose that. Don't tell me. Yeah, it's in what we can say it's an original. Okay, there you go.
[02:13:58] Yeah, it is an original TTRPG. By our very own opera. So very, very nice. Captain C. Captain. Captain Lady Moon. Captain Lady Moon. I know she loves Sailor Moon. Frey, you got anything else to plug? Frey. Look at my hair. Yeah, let's plug your hairstylist. Yeah.
[02:14:20] Shout out to your hairstylist. Her hairstyle is awesome. Actually, Irish curls or Celtic curls. Again, we are Irish. We have Irish hair. That's why they look the way that they do. But look at those curls. Well, so everything he said and no, I don't know when
[02:14:39] Deadpool versus John Wick is coming out. I assume we can talk about that here in a second. Tomorrow. Yeah. Tomorrow, apparently. Tomorrow. Okay. Let's get him out tomorrow. Ask and ye shall receive. But yeah, so everything that should do said. All right. That's me.
[02:14:55] John is, do you have your children to plug or what's up? The no, they're not in the room to plug. So no, that sounds so wrong. Me at distance narrative. Or the sale of Funko Pops at shows that we do. Oh, yeah. You know what?
[02:15:12] I did go to shout out to Toy Fusion. I went to Toy Fusion this weekend and they were having an estate sale and a toy swap. So it was really cool. There's like, you know, 30, 40 vendors plus Toy Fusion.
[02:15:24] I was helping our buddy Andrew with some of his toy sales because he bought an estate and then he had to try to sell this estate sale. So we sold a ton of stuff. So Star Wars Hot Wheels. I didn't take home any. Ashley sold one Funko Pop.
[02:15:41] Oh, one Funko Pop. That's one more than Tater sold while we were at Silver Age. Thanks a lot, Tater. Too busy. Too busy and is Timu Kiteman outfit. I mean, I mean, Hydra Bob outfit. It's a good Hydra Bob instead of selling my Funko Pops.
[02:16:01] No, but check this out. I did meet some people. There will be maybe a new. You'll like this young Phil. There may be a new brick and mortar brick store coming to the area. Oh. And I told them about the show.
[02:16:18] I told them about the build and they were very interested in building stuff. So I can't say what exactly they build, but you also build the same things. OK. They may be doing some special events with their new store that's coming
[02:16:37] and they want to come promote, they want to come talk about it. And then they're also going to put together the potentially biggest D&D game together, like put together around like the world around the nation. Like a global Dungeons and Dragons game. Yeah.
[02:16:58] So they're putting something together. It's going to be amazing. So we'll get more details on that. We know a couple of nerds in Norway that would be super down for that. Exactly. Exactly. We have more details. No, no, no, they're not nerds. They're nerds. They're nerds.
[02:17:15] They're nerds on the fjords. The nerds on the fjords. Oh, my God. And they really are podcast. I know. Oh, my God. I'm going to call Sunny tonight. It's called Distance Nording. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Genius. I'm calling Sunny tonight and being like, dude,
[02:17:32] they just came up with the most amazing name for you guys. Distance Nording. Nordic on the fjord. I like nerds on the fjords. No, it's not fjords. Either one word. Nord on the fjords. Nord on the fjords is them doing live shows, like around Norway. Yeah.
[02:17:51] Or around the fjords. Around the fjords. Just set up a little tent next to a fjord. There you go. Oh, good. Reporting from the fjords, it's the Nords. It's the Nord. Because we're big Nords. Three and a half years to get there. Distance Nording right now. It's funny.
[02:18:08] No. Longer than three and a half years because we were friends with them when they were, when they're still listening to our the year. We need to like get this translated into Norwegian. Norwegian. You know, most Norwegian people can speak English. We can be the distance Njords.
[02:18:25] Oh, that's good. Distance Njords. Distance Nording. Where were we talking about? In minus to Norway, you cowards. Half of the growing discuss. Tell us what you're doing out on. I'm just throwing this out there. Johnny, I need you to translate this entire episode for us. Yeah, come on.
[02:18:42] The Norwegian Titan. Where are you at? Exactly. The Norwegian Titan. The man with the with the ankles of steel. Oh my God, that'd be so good. Oh, man. OK, but again, absolutely good discuss. So finish it. Tell us what you're nording out on.
[02:19:01] Been right there the whole time. Tell us what you're nording out on and make sure that's not a Facebook group. The distance starting to post. Oh, that's good. Ladies and gentlemen, join the taco party. Are you going to join the taco party so we can go to Norway?
[02:19:15] Yeah, so we can create this jam show. Yeah, and make those goddamn t-shirts. Oh my God. Again, distance Nording needs to be somewhere in the description. Visual montage of us trying to trek across Norway. We have we have two guys in Norway that would be our guides.
[02:19:39] Yeah, I just feel like just leave me. Just leave me here. Get the car and come back. And that's the Norwegian Titan and sunny. Yeah. So there are the Nord's on the fjords and distance Nording. Oh my God.
[02:19:56] I need I need to I need to I need to text sunny tonight and just be like, dude, I need you guys to record something and just call your guy. Call yourselves the Nord's on the fjords. Or distance Nording.
[02:20:12] Give them like the intro and then let them translate it. Oh yeah. And just say distance Nording at some point. Yeah. And it'll be yeah, they can be like, we're here for distance Nording reporting. We're Nord's on the fjord.
[02:20:24] And then like that would be something that Sunny would do, though, because Sunny, Sunny, here's the he's called the Indian Viking. Right? The best thing about him is because he's he's an Indian immigrant to Norway. That's amazing. And he has like he does the most.
[02:20:40] Like he has like a regular accent. But like when he doesn't over exaggerated Norwegian accent, it's hilarious. Because he's a funny dude, man. He's really funny. Sunny used to be the DM in our distance Nording Discord. Oh, that's awesome.
[02:20:55] So when when we did the origins of the distance Nording Discord were to organize D&D games. Oh, and Sunny was the the DM. That's amazing. Yeah, all the way from Norway. I think maybe should do and Sunny should like. Yeah, I've been. Yeah, yeah.
[02:21:13] Sunny's always looking for D&D. Oh yeah. Yeah, Sunny is an amazing writer, dude, the way that he that he writes his stories are looking awesome. Shout outs to Johnny and Sunny. I know they still listen the only way the only reason I know they still listen
[02:21:28] is because we still get hits from Norway all the time. So. Want to connect with us? Yeah, let's. On. Yes, speaking of things that are banned in Idaho. Connect with us. Connect with us. Oh, I got to put the screen back on. Oh, yeah.
[02:21:46] Connect with us on all the social media is all the places Instagram, Facebook, Twitter. It's not X. It'll always be Twitter. I guess I'm going to keep on saying Twitter just to piss off Elon Musk. I think Twitch is definitely banned in Idaho.
[02:21:59] Not Twitter, but X definitely is. At least three Xs are. Does that mean what? Oh, hold on. Does that mean that Twitter is banned in Idaho because Elon Musk just started allowing porn on Twitter? Probably. All right, there we go. Yeah, yeah, that's a thing. It's a thing.
[02:22:12] Well, he's got to get that 45 million somewhere. Exactly. Twitch, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, Discord, MySpace, Vine, GeoCities, Friendster, Second Life, Aim, Farmers Only, Christian Mingle. We are really going to open up an only fan. And it's just going to be pictures of Hills Guns.
[02:22:32] Of Hills Guns, James's glasses that are deductibly on a table and Aaron Watson's feet and mandals. Oh, that's good. I mean, I mean, normally I say it's Aaron Watson's feet and mandals, the beard and James's glasses. Yes, and the beard.
[02:22:46] But I guess now my arms are in this. Yeah, he's the only fans available in Idaho. I do not consent. Only if you get Phil VPN. Phil VPN is a new VPN. Is a new VPN specifically. It's specifically for people in Idaho so you can watch porn.
[02:23:06] No, it's the Nords on the Fjord VPN. It's not Nord VPN, it's Nerd VPN. Nerd VPN. Oh, my God. We got to go. The jokes. We got to go. This is falling apart. The jokes tonight are on point.
[02:23:24] All right, ladies and gentlemen, God, if you would like us to break up with your boyfriend, girlfriend, significant other pet schoolyard bully, annoying neighbor or just tell us how much you enjoy us, hate us or wish
[02:23:36] the internet would consume us completely and spit us out at the feet of the Indian Viking himself and the rest of the Nords on the Fjords. Send us an email at DIST. I'd talk more, but I'm too busy trying to park distance Nording.com.
[02:24:01] And then I'll remain folks. And then and then I'm going to resell it to Sonny and Johnny. By the domain. It very much is starting to sound like a wrestling team. You're right. He has got you right. Oh my God. The amount of jokes tonight.
[02:24:16] I have so much fuel for writing tonight. All right. And snirting at AOL.com and we will read it on the show. Oh my God. Nord, Nord, male fuel. That doesn't work. Nord male, Nord, Nord, male energy. I know it messes everything up. Why? You know what's funny?
[02:24:42] I think you have enough energy. It's enough Nord energy. You know, it's funny. I think there is something called Nord VPN. It is. There is. That was a joke I was thinking. Oh God, that's so good. So if you want to sponsor us Nord VPN. Yeah, Nord VPN.
[02:24:57] If you guys want to. Yeah, we've got plenty of time. Yeah, you can sponsor us because apparently we're going to sell on your Nord machine. Yeah. Now now we need to at Nord VPN. Yeah. Just just send them this part of the episode. And only fans in Idaho.
[02:25:13] Yes. Yes. I don't know what happened. Yeah, I don't know how it goes. But now we're just stretching because we're waiting on James to say his line. And keep nerding together. Together. Oh God, ladies and gentlemen, let's do the dance party because this has
[02:25:34] already gone too crazy tonight. Distance Nerding. This was the production of the Distance Nerding podcast and Time for Tacos Media. For more content, follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Twitch, YouTube and TikTok all at Distance Nerding.
