[00:00:55] You are now watching and listening and experiencing distance nerding.

[00:01:04] Part of the Cog On Radio on Ask Family.

[00:01:08] She wants to volunteer as tribute. It's Jen from Frey Comics.

[00:01:13] Every day, every day. He's too old to play Hal Jordan.

[00:01:17] It's Jhamis by a thousand. I was going to say something nicer than that.

[00:01:21] I just want to say that.

[00:01:23] Oh, Jhamis, you can't hear you. You're muted sir.

[00:01:26] You're muted.

[00:01:27] His spider sense is always tingling and itchy.

[00:01:31] It's young Phil. We can fix it in post.

[00:01:33] And we're here to nerd together.

[00:01:36] Together.

[00:01:38] We're talking about anything. Pop culture, news, food, movies, music,

[00:01:42] wrestling, comics, Comic-Cons, all the things whatever you're nerding out on,

[00:01:46] we want to talk about it.

[00:01:47] That's right. Now follow us on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter,

[00:01:49] Twitch, threads, YouTube, Discord, all at distance nerding.

[00:01:53] And of course, ladies and gentlemen, if you'd like to shoot us an email

[00:01:56] and be a part of the ever growing mailbag,

[00:02:00] you can email us at dist.

[00:02:02] I don't know why my mic was muted.

[00:02:04] It makes no sense. Who's meeting my mic?

[00:02:07] It's a self choice.

[00:02:08] Not me.

[00:02:08] I think it was young Phil.

[00:02:09] It probably was me.

[00:02:10] It's nerding at aol.com and we will read it live on air.

[00:02:15] Guys, how is everything going?

[00:02:17] Good. I'm getting into a new like book series.

[00:02:22] Well, it's not new. It's from the 90s, but it's new to me.

[00:02:25] So I'm having fun with that.

[00:02:26] That's right. Jhamis started a new job.

[00:02:28] That's exciting.

[00:02:29] Yeah.

[00:02:30] Making it happen. Doing things.

[00:02:31] Doing big things.

[00:02:33] Not really.

[00:02:38] All right. Well, ladies and gentlemen, let's jump into this.

[00:02:42] You have now stumbled onto the best or probably worst kept secret on the internet.

[00:02:47] Ladies and gentlemen, you are now watching the download.

[00:03:08] Oops. Remix. Double time.

[00:03:14] Well, let's get into this.

[00:03:17] Ladies and gentlemen, this week on deck we've got the geek end update.

[00:03:20] We're getting animated in Midford.

[00:03:22] Oh yeah.

[00:03:23] Yes, we are.

[00:03:24] Starting rumors.

[00:03:27] When spiders fight, we all scream.

[00:03:30] Well me, I scream because I hate spiders.

[00:03:34] Where's that?

[00:03:35] And of course the download.

[00:03:36] We say goodbye to my foc move Fossa one last time.

[00:03:40] Oh, so sad.

[00:03:42] I'm very depressed that we have to report this news, but we will get there later.

[00:03:48] But before we get to the circle of life, here it is.

[00:03:52] But before we get to all that, let me get a shout out.

[00:03:57] Shout out to Debbie.

[00:03:59] Debbie is an emerging because they have a new flavor.

[00:04:05] Brand of energy drinks created to help focus concentration reaction time with no jitters or crash, no maltrodections, no sugars, no fillers, no artificial flavors or dyes.

[00:04:15] But it is keto friendly.

[00:04:17] Debbie contains neuro factor to help give your brain focus and clarity and the 150 milligrams of caffeine and three essential B vitamins help you stay alert and energized.

[00:04:29] Debbie's doing big things.

[00:04:30] Find out more at W dot gg and use code nerding 10 for 10% off that order.

[00:04:36] Do you guys see what the new flavor is called?

[00:04:38] Is that grandpa's dentures or something?

[00:04:42] Denture water.

[00:04:43] I didn't know that the real name for dragon fruit was for tie.

[00:04:48] I'm probably saying it wrong.

[00:04:50] Pitaya.

[00:04:51] It's funny because I'm drinking dragon fruit and mango right now.

[00:04:58] I'm actually bringing it back.

[00:04:59] It's been a while since I drank W on the show.

[00:05:01] I'm drinking some.

[00:05:02] But yeah, it's a mango and pitaya.

[00:05:06] It's supposed to be flavored water.

[00:05:08] Wow.

[00:05:08] And I hear you mixing with a spoon so you're not just using a finger like a hobo.

[00:05:14] That's awesome. Good for you.

[00:05:15] Uh oh. He's doing it.

[00:05:17] Did you miss it James?

[00:05:17] I missed it.

[00:05:19] It's back.

[00:05:20] Well, it is.

[00:05:22] It will be autumn soon.

[00:05:23] So we got to bring back the old favorite.

[00:05:26] Exactly.

[00:05:27] Pumpkin spice.

[00:05:29] Bill licking his fingers.

[00:05:32] Well, uh, let's let's move on from here.

[00:05:36] And of course, actually before we move on as it sees a citizen screen use code nerding 10 for all of you who are listening.

[00:05:44] Use the code nerding 10.

[00:05:45] It's 20% off until the end of September guys.

[00:05:49] So now is the time to try new flavors.

[00:05:51] Now is the time to try W and start getting your fix.

[00:05:56] I know we had a bunch of people who actually bought it this weekend at the show that we were at.

[00:06:00] So fun, fun stuff where we're getting on this, this W hype train going.

[00:06:04] Yeah, but it is 20% off this month.

[00:06:07] But the code is still the same nerding 10.

[00:06:11] Still nerding 10.

[00:06:11] It's not nerding 20.

[00:06:12] Nerding 10.

[00:06:13] And you get 20% off because it's the nerding 10 post.

[00:06:18] And that's why we, yeah, there you go.

[00:06:20] Even though there's not enough line spacing or kerning in between use code nerding 10 on the screen.

[00:06:26] Jesus James.

[00:06:27] We'll talk to the art department and the graphics team about that and we'll get reprimanded.

[00:06:32] Absolutely.

[00:06:32] All right.

[00:06:32] Well, ladies and gentlemen, let's jump into this.

[00:06:34] It's time for the geek end update.

[00:06:44] This is dirty.

[00:06:46] No, the Sandra just put on here.

[00:06:48] She gave the code to a coworker today.

[00:06:51] And her belly Betty always always our biggest like marketer.

[00:06:56] Go ahead.

[00:06:57] She's not bad.

[00:06:58] She is not bad.

[00:06:59] She comes through because when, when I, when, when it's young fill and, and Tater out there by themselves and I get nervous about things.

[00:07:09] Sandra always comes through and make sure stuff happens that needs to happen.

[00:07:13] Shout out to Sandra.

[00:07:14] Okay.

[00:07:14] Distance nerding is on Comic Con radio.

[00:07:16] Look for distance nerding and our second show, comic conversation each week on comic con dash radio dot com.

[00:07:24] We got a bunch of shows on there.

[00:07:26] They're a little behind just because we are flooding them with, with shows.

[00:07:31] So if you want to get all the distance nerding episodes and the comic conversations go to distance nerding on any podcast platform.

[00:07:39] Spotify, Apple, I heart, Amazon.

[00:07:43] You can get it on your Amazon Echo.

[00:07:45] Apple because I wasn't listening.

[00:07:47] Yeah.

[00:07:47] Thank you for listening.

[00:07:48] I said Apple.

[00:07:49] Yeah.

[00:07:50] Everywhere if podcast exists, I went to the farthest reaches of where podcasts are and made sure that our podcast was there.

[00:07:59] Podbean.

[00:08:00] All those places.

[00:08:01] Yeah.

[00:08:01] You're not really a Sherpa.

[00:08:03] So, you know,

[00:08:06] But I made, I have made sure that it's funny when you look up like where like podcast platforms.

[00:08:13] There are like some ones that I've never heard of but I make sure that the podcast is there.

[00:08:17] Yeah, it's like, like the platforms are like, boobly or something like it's weird.

[00:08:23] You can just have such odd names.

[00:08:25] All the weirdness, all the crazy stuff.

[00:08:27] So, ladies and gentlemen, make your way over to ComicConRadio.com slash podcasts.

[00:08:33] Check out all of our stuff.

[00:08:35] Of course in our feed we've got everything there.

[00:08:37] You guys definitely want to keep up.

[00:08:39] We've got all kinds of shows and we have more episodes of comic conversation coming out soon.

[00:08:45] Awesome.

[00:08:45] We're on, we're finally getting Silver Age Comic Con from this year out.

[00:08:49] So sweet making it happen.

[00:08:50] I like it.

[00:08:52] Speaking of Silver Age, well, should we jump into our guest?

[00:08:55] Did we want to talk about the weekend?

[00:08:57] I was going to say, how did it happen?

[00:08:58] Let's get to our guests first.

[00:09:00] So let me skip this.

[00:09:02] Boom!

[00:09:03] No wait, not that one.

[00:09:03] Boom!

[00:09:04] Right there.

[00:09:04] All right.

[00:09:05] Let's bring on ladies and gentlemen.

[00:09:07] Again, he is one of our biggest supporters and we are one of his biggest fans.

[00:09:13] Continues to put on amazing shows, bring amazing guests to all different places.

[00:09:17] And again, Anna Medford, the show coming up here at Roguex and Medford in about two weeks.

[00:09:23] Bringing all kinds of high profile anime voice actors to the show as well as just high profile stuff in general.

[00:09:32] Please welcome to the show the man that we love with all of our hearts.

[00:09:36] And I know he's got a giant smile on his face right now.

[00:09:39] Dave Heyward!

[00:09:46] Oh, hello.

[00:09:48] Hello, Jesus.

[00:09:49] Jesus.

[00:09:51] Ah, Konnichiwa.

[00:09:52] Bless you.

[00:09:53] Konmari natte gozaimasu.

[00:09:56] Hello.

[00:09:56] Hey, hey, the first thing I want to get out of the way is, you know, when we're going

[00:10:01] to be on stage at Anna Medford in Oregon, September 21 and 22nd with real guests, right?

[00:10:08] Who's going to be bringing us Dutch brothers coffee?

[00:10:12] You know what I mean?

[00:10:13] We just released the episode with Sean Astin so that was a scene.

[00:10:18] Where you're going, where you're bringing him the Dutch bros and we're announcing it in the episode.

[00:10:23] I listened to the Sean Astin interview from Jens Steeck, Comicon.

[00:10:28] Shout out.

[00:10:29] And by the way, Sean was very head over heels for you, Dave.

[00:10:33] He was very impressed with what you do.

[00:10:35] So shout out to you.

[00:10:37] But he was talking about some other coffee shop and Dutch brothers and he's like,

[00:10:41] I'm going to get the Dutch brothers tomorrow.

[00:10:43] And I don't know how fast you had to run and how close Dutch brothers was, but that order of Dutch brothers was there in like less than five minutes.

[00:10:52] I don't understand how you made it happen.

[00:10:55] It's just the great volunteers that we have to be honest with you.

[00:10:59] When they hear something, they could just go out and do it.

[00:11:02] So it's all them.

[00:11:04] Gemforce, we call them Gemforce.

[00:11:06] I don't think they paid for that coffee.

[00:11:07] I think they ran to the drive through and whatever coffee was coming out of the window to the car, they just grabbed that coffee and ran back.

[00:11:15] Have you ever seen Woody Allen movie Bananas?

[00:11:20] Yes.

[00:11:21] Or he orders like food for 5,000 people and then at the end of the order, he pulls out a gun and says this is for the rebels.

[00:11:30] We're not paying anything.

[00:11:33] I think that's what happened there.

[00:11:35] I think that's how we got the coffee so fast.

[00:11:37] Yeah, no, absolutely.

[00:11:38] That's awesome.

[00:11:39] It was impressive.

[00:11:40] I'm just saying when we're in Medford, Dutch brothers.

[00:11:43] I don't even know if Medford has a Dutch brother.

[00:11:45] Oh, I'll get you.

[00:11:46] I'll get you Dutch brothers.

[00:11:47] Sure.

[00:11:48] You know that.

[00:11:50] Don't pander to him.

[00:11:52] Well, I'm going to put it in the right.

[00:11:53] We go to all the shows.

[00:11:55] Okay.

[00:11:57] To be honest, you know, that's why we try to get the best guess as possible because it's kind of, you know, we want you guys to get the best guess.

[00:12:06] So we try to get the best just so you can interview them so you can use them for your show.

[00:12:10] And I think that's important.

[00:12:12] So I like it.

[00:12:13] Well, let's run it down.

[00:12:14] So Anna Medford is coming up Saturday and Sunday, September 21st and 22nd.

[00:12:20] So I'm going to ask you guys,

[00:12:20] what are the things that you learned from Medford, Oregon at the new rogex facility?

[00:12:23] Do they learn?

[00:12:24] Did they get, did they understand how big these get?

[00:12:27] Well, you know,

[00:12:29] metal art, they really had to go through.

[00:12:32] What is it?

[00:12:33] Baptism through fire.

[00:12:35] The facility there never had an event before it was their very first event ever.

[00:12:40] And after, after the event, they said to me, we're going to invest in pipe and drape and all this other stuff.

[00:12:46] So that way we don't have to do third party. Right?

[00:12:48] So they, they learned a lot and you know,

[00:12:53] the configuration is going to be different because we don't want it to be like metal art.

[00:12:56] We want to be completely different.

[00:12:58] So it'll be, it'll be, it'll be different in many ways and similar and others,

[00:13:02] but I enjoyed the venue.

[00:13:04] I thought it was great much better than previous venues in the area and the only real venue in the area.

[00:13:11] So I think, yeah, they learned a lot through that event for sure.

[00:13:16] Makes it a little different, a little bit unique.

[00:13:18] Anime tends to be like a unique show for you guys anyway.

[00:13:23] Yeah, you know, I don't talk about it much, but you know, I enjoy anime.

[00:13:27] I watch anime several times a week.

[00:13:30] Most of the video games are play.

[00:13:33] I play our Japanese video games.

[00:13:36] You know, I'm really heavy into the Japanese culture and film.

[00:13:41] And Tagusatsu and all that kind of stuff.

[00:13:44] So I just don't talk about it, but yeah, for me, it's, it's kind of a special show because all our other shows are comic cons where this is anime.

[00:13:54] And it actually does better than many of our comic cons because there's no anime in Southern Oregon except for us.

[00:14:01] So you know, people really enjoy it and they come out for it.

[00:14:05] That's awesome.

[00:14:06] Yeah.

[00:14:06] I always think it does really well and it always feels very unique from all the other shows that get done.

[00:14:12] Like I was just looking at the lineup, the programming, and it looks like we have some, before we get to the main guest, looks like we have some music guests.

[00:14:22] We do.

[00:14:23] You know, one thing I say about Anna Medford, and this is not anything against all our other guests at all our comic cons at all.

[00:14:30] They're all gorgeous people.

[00:14:32] But Anna Medford brings out the most attractive voice actors.

[00:14:36] I think, you know, they're all young and cool and hip and attractive.

[00:14:42] You know, so it's, it's pretty cool.

[00:14:44] But yeah, we have some great musical guests under the Dekko tree, which has been with us for quite a while.

[00:14:53] I love their music.

[00:14:53] I bought their CD.

[00:14:55] I always support the music bands that come to Anna Medford or any of our events.

[00:15:00] And if you're there by their CDs, man, I want to hear them say, Dave, I sold, we sold out of all our CDs.

[00:15:07] You know, or yeah.

[00:15:08] And like you guys on the way home, you know, put in the CD and, you know, give them a shot, you know, on the way back to sack, sack town.

[00:15:15] And I wouldn't my truck had a CD player in it.

[00:15:19] But I mean, oops.

[00:15:22] You got to get fully loaded, Phil.

[00:15:24] Come on buddy.

[00:15:26] I have too new of a truck.

[00:15:28] I hear you.

[00:15:30] And then we have a Ekeko.

[00:15:32] I was wondering how to say Ekeko.

[00:15:36] The same band that was at Jim States.

[00:15:41] Oh, awesome.

[00:15:42] They were so cute.

[00:15:43] And she is so awesome.

[00:15:45] And she's just the best.

[00:15:47] And if you want to see her, this might be one of the last times you see her live.

[00:15:52] So you have to come and see her and buy her CD because I don't know if she made it public or not.

[00:15:58] But in the beginning of next year, she plans she's moving to Japan.

[00:16:05] She ended up getting a job there.

[00:16:08] So she'll be working there.

[00:16:09] So you may not see her ever again or maybe not for a long time.

[00:16:13] Wow.

[00:16:14] Good for her.

[00:16:15] Shout out.

[00:16:15] That's awesome.

[00:16:16] Yeah.

[00:16:16] I love to see people who follow their dreams and succeed in it.

[00:16:20] You know what I mean?

[00:16:21] Yeah.

[00:16:22] And she's doing that.

[00:16:23] And I don't know.

[00:16:24] I think she can go there and become what they call an icon.

[00:16:27] If you guys know what icons are, there are certain levels of icons.

[00:16:32] Like if you know who Babybeard is.

[00:16:35] Please tell me about being Asian because this is a different side of Asian.

[00:16:39] Yeah.

[00:16:40] Yeah.

[00:16:40] And icons, they're kind of like Taylor Swift,

[00:16:44] but you have different levels of icons from like, you know,

[00:16:47] musical bands who perform at bars to people like Taylor Swift.

[00:16:52] They're all considered different levels of icons.

[00:16:55] And I can see her doing that and making music videos over there

[00:16:59] and just continuing to do what she does, but over there.

[00:17:02] I think she was telling me.

[00:17:03] They also love their mascots too.

[00:17:06] I saw, like I watched Rice Darby.

[00:17:10] He went to Japan.

[00:17:12] He did a four episode thing on Amazon Prime.

[00:17:15] And I'm sure it was something else, but Amazon got it here.

[00:17:18] And he went to the different things he learned to be a mascot in Japan.

[00:17:22] And I was like, that's so cool.

[00:17:24] So now I'm like, I want to go to Japan and just see the mascot.

[00:17:27] Yet yet the most disturbing mascot I think I've ever seen is for

[00:17:31] the Japan 2025 Expo.

[00:17:34] You should Google that mascot.

[00:17:36] It's really weird, really bizarre.

[00:17:39] Yeah.

[00:17:39] Some of them are really like, and then there's one,

[00:17:41] I guess John Oliver did like a story on it and had one of had a mascot

[00:17:45] and like, like shipped over to Japan to meet another mascot.

[00:17:49] It was the thing anyway.

[00:17:51] That thing is taken off in Japan too.

[00:17:54] Like people love his mascot.

[00:17:55] No, I was actually going to say, I think the ECO Pop was telling us

[00:17:58] that they actually have a decent following in Japan and Korea.

[00:18:01] Yeah, that's great.

[00:18:02] That's great.

[00:18:02] That is awesome.

[00:18:04] All right.

[00:18:04] Let's get into the guests because you got a bunch of voice actors coming.

[00:18:07] So there's Lori Himes from Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh.

[00:18:12] There's Chris Cason from Full Metal Alchemist and Dragon Ball Z.

[00:18:15] Emily Kramer from Pokemon Yu-Gi-Oh and Genshin.

[00:18:19] You always find Genshin impact people.

[00:18:21] Kelsey Cruz from Spy X Family and the Apothecary Diaries and Jordan

[00:18:26] Dash Cruz from Spy X Family and Genshin Impact.

[00:18:29] Wonderful.

[00:18:29] They know each other.

[00:18:30] They both have the same last name.

[00:18:32] And then again, ton of vendors, tons of artists.

[00:18:36] I actually didn't look up which artists are going to be there,

[00:18:39] but you always have a ton of vendors, tons of artists, tons of crafts.

[00:18:42] I noticed Anna Medford usually has a lot of craft vendors as well.

[00:18:48] A lot of craft vendors, a lot of local artists.

[00:18:51] We always try to get like profession, you know how Comic-Con's

[00:18:54] they have like Marvel DC artists, you know?

[00:18:58] We try to get artists like that for Anna Medford,

[00:19:00] but they're very far and few.

[00:19:03] And you know, I'm a big Godzilla geek, so you know,

[00:19:07] there was someone I tried getting, I think you guys also kind of

[00:19:11] connected us together, but he would like to come,

[00:19:14] but he couldn't do it because he's out of town or something

[00:19:17] for the weekend of the show.

[00:19:18] But hopefully we can get him soon.

[00:19:20] He's anything Godzilla is right up my alley for sure.

[00:19:24] That's awesome.

[00:19:24] That's awesome.

[00:19:25] And I think I, I mean not for this show.

[00:19:27] I think it was a different show.

[00:19:29] So I guess for next year, we're going to send you some,

[00:19:31] some more artists friends of ours that want to come to the show.

[00:19:33] Yeah. And I'm always open and welcome to it.

[00:19:36] You know, we, I think we treat artists really well.

[00:19:39] I mean, ask Lewis Rivera, you know?

[00:19:41] Oh yeah.

[00:19:41] So as long as you behave, as long as you behave,

[00:19:46] you'll always come back.

[00:19:48] As long as you don't lose your shirt and Reno,

[00:19:50] maybe we don't bring Luis to Reno anyway.

[00:19:53] Okay.

[00:19:55] You know the Lewis Rivera stories then, huh?

[00:19:58] Yeah. It's an intervention.

[00:20:00] We need to like not bring him to Reno.

[00:20:02] Yeah.

[00:20:02] Louis Spitting out with us every now and then too.

[00:20:05] So I mean we see, we get to live some of the stories.

[00:20:07] It's great.

[00:20:09] Exactly.

[00:20:10] The craziest stories are in Reno.

[00:20:12] I'll tell you.

[00:20:13] We had some good stories at Gem state.

[00:20:16] That's some really good stories at Gem state.

[00:20:19] That's just because of the company we kept when we were

[00:20:22] at it when we were in Idaho.

[00:20:25] Well, I'm not going to mention names,

[00:20:27] but you can guess with this kind of exclusive is I'm going to talk

[00:20:30] to Ming Chen bring them back to Gem state,

[00:20:32] which you know, I very rarely bring people back because I want him

[00:20:36] to show two actors that were at silver age,

[00:20:41] all the local places to drink and eat while they're there in

[00:20:45] 2025.

[00:20:46] That's awesome.

[00:20:47] I think you know who they are,

[00:20:48] but I'm still working on their contracts.

[00:20:49] I think it's a done deal though.

[00:20:51] Yeah.

[00:20:51] I mean, they're all friends to begin with.

[00:20:53] So it's fine.

[00:20:54] But I mean, like at the same time that and oh,

[00:20:56] and by the way, I know you guys, you know,

[00:21:00] we told everyone that all the special guests and you guys are

[00:21:03] considered special guests because if you're not one of my

[00:21:06] volunteers will kick you out of the green room.

[00:21:13] I would have done the same thing.

[00:21:15] Yeah.

[00:21:16] Yeah.

[00:21:17] So, you know, we gave all the special guests who wanted to go to

[00:21:22] the Reno aces baseball game free tickets.

[00:21:25] Yeah.

[00:21:26] But coming up in 2025,

[00:21:28] we're getting a complete full suite.

[00:21:31] So all the guests will be able to hang out at the baseball

[00:21:33] game in the suite.

[00:21:35] Nice.

[00:21:36] That is awesome.

[00:21:37] And I love that park.

[00:21:38] I love that ballpark and Reno.

[00:21:40] It's nice.

[00:21:41] It's beautiful.

[00:21:41] It's yeah, look, it's great.

[00:21:43] I like that part.

[00:21:43] There's something about that brick.

[00:21:45] It just feels very nostalgic.

[00:21:47] Right.

[00:21:48] Like old school baseball stadiums.

[00:21:52] For sure.

[00:21:53] I love it.

[00:21:54] Okay.

[00:21:54] Back to Anna Mettaford.

[00:21:56] So, Lori Himes is going to be there from pokey.

[00:21:59] You always have good Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh artists or

[00:22:02] or actors.

[00:22:04] I should say.

[00:22:05] And you know what's interesting?

[00:22:06] That I never grew up being a big Yu-Gi-Oh guy,

[00:22:09] but a ton of kids or I say kids,

[00:22:12] but maybe 20s, young 30s loved Yu-Gi-Oh.

[00:22:16] And so they always show up for these artists.

[00:22:18] It's really interesting to me that I'm like, oh,

[00:22:20] I'm totally out of loop, but I'm glad you're happy.

[00:22:23] You know, like so Lori Himes and Emily Kramer were both in

[00:22:27] Yu-Gi-Oh.

[00:22:28] That'll that's going to be fun.

[00:22:30] Yeah.

[00:22:30] No, uh, you know, I am more of a Pokemon guy when it

[00:22:35] comes to the card games, but Yu-Gi-Oh does and has had

[00:22:38] for a long time, a huge following.

[00:22:40] So yeah.

[00:22:41] And, you know, I don't know.

[00:22:43] It's kind of a generational thing.

[00:22:45] Um, I think people like James who's heading into his 50s,

[00:22:50] he was there when Pokemon first started.

[00:22:53] So, you know, he's more familiar.

[00:22:57] I'm not even up there and I was at the beginning of

[00:23:00] Pokemon.

[00:23:00] All right.

[00:23:02] But you were like six or something.

[00:23:04] No, no, I wasn't that young.

[00:23:06] I was past that.

[00:23:10] I mean, given rare, the rare occasion right now,

[00:23:14] I am the youngest one on screen right now.

[00:23:15] But I mean, like still, like, uh, all right, I, uh,

[00:23:19] I did play Pokemon when it first came out.

[00:23:21] Speaking of Pokemon, uh, we've got some fun Pokemon prizes.

[00:23:24] We're going to be giving away at our whole thing, trivia.

[00:23:27] Uh, yeah.

[00:23:28] And you may be the youngest, but we won't discuss your

[00:23:30] inexperience here.

[00:23:32] Oh, that's a yes.

[00:23:32] Ha, ha, ha, ha.

[00:23:35] Ha, ha, ha.

[00:23:38] So what are these prizes?

[00:23:40] Go ahead.

[00:23:41] Sorry.

[00:23:42] I kind of wanted to ask about Kelsey and Jordan because they're

[00:23:47] you know, I was joking earlier, but they're not related.

[00:23:49] They knew each other, but they're married, right?

[00:23:51] Uh, that's correct. Yes.

[00:23:52] That's awesome.

[00:23:53] So how did that happen?

[00:23:54] Did you get one?

[00:23:55] Like is it what it was at a buy one, get one type scenario?

[00:23:58] How did that work?

[00:23:59] Well, uh, Jordan called me.

[00:24:01] I don't know where these people get my number.

[00:24:03] I just, he just calls me and he says I would like to come and

[00:24:06] I says, oh, I say, okay, great.

[00:24:09] Um, by the way, this is our first show where a hundred percent

[00:24:13] of the actors are self signed actually no agents involved,

[00:24:17] which yeah, which is the best.

[00:24:20] It makes it the best because when you cut out the middle man,

[00:24:23] things get done faster and, uh, and, uh, it's,

[00:24:26] it's a much better deal. So, um, he, I ended up signing, uh,

[00:24:31] Lori Heim first and then Jordan had heard that Lori had signed.

[00:24:36] So he called me.

[00:24:38] That's maybe where he got the number. And, um, I said, sure,

[00:24:41] you know, uh, let's do this.

[00:24:43] And about a week later, he said, Hey, um, by the way,

[00:24:46] my wife is, you know, also in the business, uh, can she join me?

[00:24:51] And I said, well, you know what?

[00:24:52] You're saving me on the hotel room. So sure. Why not?

[00:24:56] No, she wants to separate.

[00:24:59] Any more, any more people we can, any more family members we can pack in one room

[00:25:03] to be fair, to be fair, to be fair, like if,

[00:25:06] if Jackie were coming, she would prefer her own room. So I mean, you know,

[00:25:12] without Phil, without me, exactly.

[00:25:15] Jackie last year. No, my wife.

[00:25:17] Well, you snort night. Come on. She needs a break.

[00:25:25] Um, that's awesome. I, you know, what's interesting is like they have,

[00:25:29] they have like similar like portfolios, but, but sort of different.

[00:25:33] So I think it's going to be a fun conversation.

[00:25:35] I didn't even look, are we gonna, we're going to interview them together?

[00:25:38] Uh, yeah. It's, uh, the programming is up on the website. Um,

[00:25:42] I know you guys like doing the together thing.

[00:25:45] Uh-huh. I know Lori and Emily,

[00:25:47] they are actually really good friends.

[00:25:50] So they're flying together, um, from back east to,

[00:25:54] to Medford. So, uh, that's how I ended up getting Emily. She goes,

[00:25:58] Hey, I'm a friend of Lori. Can I come too? And I'm like,

[00:26:01] and you said only if you stay in Lori's room.

[00:26:06] Like the only outlier here is Chris Cason. And it's like,

[00:26:10] you know, like Chris Cason, he's staying with us. He's going to stay with us.

[00:26:13] Exactly. No, Chris Cason is a big get cause the dude has played.

[00:26:17] Well, it's not only just multiple characters from Dragon Ball Z and,

[00:26:20] and he's got one of the largest characters from full metal alchemist,

[00:26:23] like one of the biggest characters from full, he plays gluttony and full metal alchemist.

[00:26:26] But I mean he plays, uh, it's funny. This is the second time we're,

[00:26:29] we're interviewing somebody who plays, uh, Tien Shinhan, Tien Shinhan,

[00:26:34] but I mean he's the actual Tien Shinhan. Yeah.

[00:26:36] And you know, and you talk about a lot of these actors, they,

[00:26:39] they do a lot of the same animates together.

[00:26:42] They're always crossing each other's paths.

[00:26:44] They're always working together in some way, especially, you know,

[00:26:48] when you have like, uh, was it Funimation, Crunchy Roll?

[00:26:51] They're kind of holding monopolies on a lot of these shows and

[00:26:54] hire the same people in voices and things like this.

[00:26:57] But you know, you guys are interviewing these people when you come to a

[00:27:00] Colossus Girl Entertainment event. So you're interviewing them and you're also,

[00:27:04] you know, interviewing their friends, their wives, you know, everything.

[00:27:08] So you're intertwined along with them within the anime business.

[00:27:11] Right. Which makes it, which makes it cool.

[00:27:13] And, uh, you know, I've talked to anime voiceover actors,

[00:27:17] you know, when we talk about interviews at conventions and they say,

[00:27:21] uh, dissonerting always does the best when they're with Colossus Girl.

[00:27:25] And it's always the best interviews. So, um, you know,

[00:27:28] and I just think it's that team dynamic and, you know, that,

[00:27:32] uh, they really enjoy. I like it. We love that.

[00:27:35] It makes me feel good. Yeah. That makes me feel good.

[00:27:36] You guys should be proud of yourselves for sure.

[00:27:38] When, when celebrities are mentioning us and saying, Hey,

[00:27:41] those guys are awesome. Yes. All I ever wanted in my life.

[00:27:46] I, you know what's, what's great is I like, um, going to cons,

[00:27:51] doing the interviews, but then like fast forward like a year,

[00:27:54] maybe two years seeing them, seeing them at a different con.

[00:27:57] And then they're like, Oh, I remember you from, you know,

[00:28:00] gem state or from silver age and that was so much fun.

[00:28:03] We should do it again. Blah, blah, blah. It's like, yeah, we should.

[00:28:06] You need to call Dave get back out on the circuit.

[00:28:09] Right. Right. And you know, sometimes, you know, I like to bring them back.

[00:28:12] Um, but sometimes they're hard to get again. You know what I mean?

[00:28:15] Yeah. You know, there's so many actors, you know, it's like,

[00:28:19] I would love to take all these voiceover actors and take them to

[00:28:22] gem state or to silver age, but we always sign actors in advance.

[00:28:26] So by the time Anna Medford's done,

[00:28:28] 20, 25 has already been filled up all shows have already been signed.

[00:28:33] So, you know, like when I have the village people come to

[00:28:37] it, coming to a show next year, you know, that, that's it.

[00:28:39] I can't sign anymore. You know, so it's really hard to get back in.

[00:28:44] Um, even if I like them, you know, it's hard to get them back in sometimes

[00:28:47] and their schedule sometimes doesn't also work with our dates,

[00:28:51] but I'm glad that we have probably the best lineup in, um,

[00:28:56] anime for Oregon this year.

[00:28:58] I don't think anyone's ever had a better lineup this year for anime.

[00:29:02] Um, and I'm good friends.

[00:29:04] We cross promote with Kamoracon up in Portland.

[00:29:06] Um, and they're a huge show. They're a huge show that show makes

[00:29:11] over a million dollars a weekend.

[00:29:13] And I think we just have a better lineup.

[00:29:15] Uh, you know, no offense, but we focus on the lineup.

[00:29:19] They focus more on, um, you know, like, I don't know,

[00:29:23] basket weaving and things like that.

[00:29:27] Hey, everybody has, you know, if you're in underwater

[00:29:30] basket weaving is a skill. Okay.

[00:29:32] Okay. It's true.

[00:29:36] I love it. I love, I'm looking forward to this.

[00:29:39] I mean, again, it is a unique con. We're going to have music.

[00:29:43] Yes. We're going to have, um, anime actors in panels.

[00:29:46] Um, but then what did I see?

[00:29:48] We also, I think Anna Medford is your most progressive

[00:29:52] comic con that you do. You know, like I'm looking at the schedule

[00:29:56] and you have some, um, like YouTubers. Yeah.

[00:29:59] Yeah. And, um, lip-seeing contests and things like that at the show,

[00:30:03] which is something that's, it's sort of different.

[00:30:05] It's like one of those things when a con grows enough, like, all right,

[00:30:08] we can have a bigger footprint and spread out and have multiple

[00:30:12] things happening at the same time. I think it's really cool.

[00:30:15] Well, I mean, and also it's just cheaper than having a movie room.

[00:30:19] So there you go.

[00:30:21] You know, uh, spending, uh, 1200 on a movie room for a weekend,

[00:30:25] uh, you know, gets tiresome after eight years, you know, so you always,

[00:30:29] I want to try something new.

[00:30:31] You don't always want to have the same formula every year because if you go

[00:30:35] to a show and it's the same show year after year after year,

[00:30:40] same vendors every year, you know, you get kind of like, eh,

[00:30:44] I've been there several times.

[00:30:46] Right.

[00:30:47] You won't want to change the floor plan a little bit every year.

[00:30:49] You want to add things every year.

[00:30:51] You want to take away things for this year.

[00:30:53] I mean, you just got to mix and match and make everything, uh,

[00:30:56] fresh every year. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:30:59] And the more space you have, the easier it is.

[00:31:01] He's cutting edge.

[00:31:03] He's a cutting edge.

[00:31:05] Or with YouTubers, you can say it's, it's more youthful.

[00:31:08] It's definitely more youthful than our comic cons.

[00:31:11] You know, so.

[00:31:12] I like cutting edge because it makes you sound like you're like from the

[00:31:16] future and you're just coming back and you're like,

[00:31:19] this is what's going to be popular soon.

[00:31:21] From the future!

[00:31:23] Right.

[00:31:25] My two suggestions and I like that I throw suggestions and sometimes

[00:31:28] you listen to them and then I can take, take credit for them,

[00:31:31] even though you get all the credit, but, uh, I,

[00:31:35] I like the idea and may, we'll have to figure this one out,

[00:31:38] but maybe like a K-pop dance party.

[00:31:41] Like I saw some videos online of like, uh, kind of,

[00:31:45] you know, an anime type con or J.

[00:31:47] Or they were like a DJ and like there was a ton of anime fans

[00:31:50] and they all knew these dances.

[00:31:52] I'm like, I've never seen those.

[00:31:53] I don't know if those are TikTok videos, but they're all like

[00:31:55] anime dances, like anime songs and dances to these songs.

[00:31:59] I'm like, that's kind of cool.

[00:32:00] That's so niche.

[00:32:01] And I liked that.

[00:32:02] I was like, oh, that's pretty cool.

[00:32:03] I think well, you know, it's interesting you say that.

[00:32:06] Um, I don't know about K-pop, but you know,

[00:32:08] J-pop would definitely be in J-pop.

[00:32:11] It would make a lot more sense for this kind of show.

[00:32:13] Yeah.

[00:32:14] And wrong letter.

[00:32:15] My apologies.

[00:32:17] J, K.

[00:32:18] Okay.

[00:32:18] They're next to each other.

[00:32:19] Yeah.

[00:32:19] Easy.

[00:32:20] Um, but you know, if I was going to get someone like,

[00:32:23] like right now I know the agent for Guar who's a metal band.

[00:32:28] My husband loves Guar.

[00:32:29] And I've talked to them about coming out and doing a performance

[00:32:33] at one of the conventions.

[00:32:34] Oh my God, that would be amazing.

[00:32:37] Yeah.

[00:32:38] And you know,

[00:32:39] I thought about maybe bringing baby metal from Japan.

[00:32:42] Baby metal.

[00:32:43] Okay.

[00:32:43] Baby metal grew on me, man.

[00:32:45] Like, cause the whole thing was,

[00:32:46] I did not like them at first.

[00:32:49] I was like, what is the appeal to this?

[00:32:51] They're a decent metal band when you listen to the metal parts

[00:32:54] and then the J-pop just kind of jumps in.

[00:32:56] I'm like, what is this?

[00:32:57] They grew on me because they opened for Slipknot.

[00:33:00] They opened for Ozzy.

[00:33:01] They opened for, um, who else did they open for?

[00:33:05] Um, uh, Korn.

[00:33:07] Who else did they open for?

[00:33:08] They've opened for a lot of major bands.

[00:33:11] And any chance that those,

[00:33:13] uh, any chance that a Japanese band can get to America,

[00:33:17] they'll usually take the offer as long as it pays.

[00:33:20] Okay.

[00:33:21] Yeah.

[00:33:21] You know what I mean?

[00:33:22] So yeah.

[00:33:22] And I thought about that and exposure would do for the show.

[00:33:26] I mean, you know, maybe that's right.

[00:33:28] That's what I was thinking of Rob Zombie.

[00:33:30] Jeff and the chat just said they opened for Rob Zombie too.

[00:33:34] Yeah.

[00:33:34] I mean, they've opened for a lot of massive bands like,

[00:33:38] when I went to go see Slipknot,

[00:33:39] they were the opening band for them.

[00:33:41] Wow.

[00:33:42] It would be easier to get Lady Baby though.

[00:33:44] So have you guys,

[00:33:46] have you guys seen any Lady Baby videos?

[00:33:48] I haven't.

[00:33:49] I don't think I've seen any videos.

[00:33:51] Oh, you have.

[00:33:51] The name of the band sound like familiar.

[00:33:54] It's, it's you will love it.

[00:33:56] Guarantee.

[00:33:58] I got so many, uh,

[00:34:01] uh, porn hub jokes that, uh,

[00:34:04] He broke his brain.

[00:34:06] You're gonna, you're going to ruin my search.

[00:34:08] I don't know what Lady Baby is.

[00:34:09] But you know what?

[00:34:11] I noticed something different this time around is James is talking

[00:34:15] about saying constantly in this interview, I'm going to be there.

[00:34:19] Is this true or is this just a,

[00:34:21] I mean, there's rumors.

[00:34:23] There's rumors.

[00:34:24] There's Dutch brothers on the table.

[00:34:27] You know,

[00:34:28] uh, don't forget Texas Roadhouse is on the table too.

[00:34:32] Oh, there you go.

[00:34:32] I'm more of an Applebee's guy.

[00:34:34] So, you know,

[00:34:36] but you were there for you were there for the Texas Roadhouse.

[00:34:38] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:34:39] Texas Roadhouse has better states.

[00:34:42] I will give you that.

[00:34:45] But unless you do what you did at Metal Arc and you just take

[00:34:48] off to some taco truck, you could do, you know,

[00:34:52] Hey, hey, that ended up working in our favor in so many ways.

[00:34:58] We did not plan for it to be as good as it was.

[00:35:03] That's awesome.

[00:35:04] Anytime you can get the best tacos in town.

[00:35:06] It's a good day.

[00:35:07] I like, I like that you kind of take over Medford.

[00:35:11] Medford is kind of a sweet little town and then you kind of take

[00:35:14] it over for the weekend and a bunch of,

[00:35:16] a bunch of crazies and a bunch of fun people running around.

[00:35:19] I like it. It makes me happy.

[00:35:21] And then a year later they've just recovered and you do it again.

[00:35:25] Yeah. Months later. You kidding me?

[00:35:27] All right. Anna Medford, Saturday, Sunday, September 21st

[00:35:30] and 22nd at the Rogue X in Medford.

[00:35:33] Or oh, we didn't even mention Wayne Nia known is going to be there too.

[00:35:36] Yeah. Yeah. He'll be there running around. Yes, he will be there.

[00:35:39] Yeah. He's been coming to, to Anna Medford since the beginning.

[00:35:44] Yeah. Yeah.

[00:35:44] 2018, 2019 and he's grown throughout, you know, that we've known him.

[00:35:51] And that's exciting. Yeah.

[00:35:52] That's exciting to see that someone's been working, you know,

[00:35:55] so hard on YouTube or podcasts and, you know, it just,

[00:36:00] I like to see that they're just stepping up year after year

[00:36:03] and getting better and better and doing better things.

[00:36:05] And we actually hung out a little bit at Kamorakom last year as well.

[00:36:10] Oh, nice. Yeah.

[00:36:11] Wayne's a good dude, man. I like him a lot.

[00:36:13] And he was on stage with us last at Metal Arc.

[00:36:19] So yeah. You know, I like another convention if I mention it.

[00:36:23] Yeah.

[00:36:24] But you know, one thing I do have to let him know,

[00:36:28] and I think he's got the message is take the cosplay prizes out of

[00:36:33] the bag and display them.

[00:36:37] Kind of show him off a little bit, tantalize the taste buds, you know?

[00:36:42] That's why you see us put all of our prizes in front of all of our gear

[00:36:46] so people can see it all. Right. Right.

[00:36:48] Look, sometimes you've got to show a little ankle.

[00:36:50] That's all I'm saying.

[00:36:51] That's right.

[00:36:52] Oh, sexy, sexy.

[00:36:53] Please don't have to tell me that twice.

[00:36:57] I love it.

[00:36:58] Well, one more time, ladies and gentlemen, Adam Medford.

[00:37:01] If you go to any A&I-MedfordMEDFORD.com slash tickets,

[00:37:08] go and get your tickets now, ladies and gentlemen.

[00:37:10] 100% worth going and doing.

[00:37:13] We have fun every year.

[00:37:14] They've got a massive, massive lineup, all the entertainment.

[00:37:18] If you can make it.

[00:37:19] No, you know what?

[00:37:19] Not if you can make it.

[00:37:21] Get to Medford, Oregon on the 21st and the 22nd.

[00:37:24] Come and hang out with us.

[00:37:25] Come and hang out with all the guests.

[00:37:26] Come and see Dave.

[00:37:27] And maybe you might get some Dutch roast.

[00:37:29] Yeah.

[00:37:30] You know what I like, you know, because we had to drive to these places

[00:37:34] and we drive about an hour and eight hours and a half through desert

[00:37:38] and forest and mountain ranges.

[00:37:40] And it's eight and a half hours to get there.

[00:37:42] And you know, you talk to someone, oh man, it was such a hard drive.

[00:37:46] I had to do two hours on I-5.

[00:37:49] Really?

[00:37:50] You know who you're talking to here.

[00:37:52] Right. Right.

[00:37:52] Cause it's like the same thing for us.

[00:37:54] We got to drive like eight hours from Sacramento up there.

[00:37:57] So it's like, right.

[00:37:58] So yeah, exactly.

[00:37:59] So, you know, hey, if you're from Portland, Crescent city,

[00:38:04] Boise, Montana, Seattle, whatever, come on down because if you've

[00:38:08] never been to a Southern Oregon anime convention,

[00:38:12] you're missing out and we have a great lineup and they're all a

[00:38:16] lot of fun.

[00:38:17] And you guys know how it is at the conventions.

[00:38:19] Even after the show, this is still fun being had.

[00:38:23] Everyone's having a great time.

[00:38:25] $300 cash prize for the cosplay contest.

[00:38:28] We have three different trophies this time instead of the one we

[00:38:32] have three different trophies.

[00:38:33] We have fun co-pops, all kinds of stuff that's being given out.

[00:38:38] It's just crazy.

[00:38:39] So awesome.

[00:38:40] And if you guys need anything for prizes, let us know for your

[00:38:44] trivia and we can bring them to you too.

[00:38:46] Absolutely.

[00:38:47] The more prizes, the better.

[00:38:49] Cause the more prizes we have the longer we can go.

[00:38:51] Right. And this is the thing.

[00:38:53] So, you know, people, you spend 10, 12 bucks online,

[00:38:56] which is practically free nowadays in this economy.

[00:38:59] Yeah.

[00:39:00] And you buy them online because they're cheaper online.

[00:39:02] So buy them online and you get there.

[00:39:04] You get all that swag, probably worth about 50 bucks.

[00:39:07] So what you pay 12 bucks to get in,

[00:39:09] you've already made money off the swag.

[00:39:11] Right.

[00:39:12] And then, you know, you do cosplay contests.

[00:39:15] You can win 300 bucks.

[00:39:16] You can win all these prizes, all these cool fun co's,

[00:39:19] all these exclusives.

[00:39:20] You could be walking out of there with, you know,

[00:39:22] two, three, $400 worth of stuff for just 12 bucks.

[00:39:25] Just, you know, just for being there.

[00:39:27] So yeah, we always say, uh,

[00:39:29] Anna Medford.com get your tickets online because they're much

[00:39:33] cheaper than being at the door.

[00:39:36] And if the venue fills up to a point where we might not even

[00:39:40] have tickets at the door, you might have to, you know,

[00:39:42] because there's only a capacity of building can fill.

[00:39:45] So, um, no pun intended.

[00:39:47] Phil.

[00:39:48] Um, so, so, you know,

[00:39:52] Anxious if it's more.

[00:39:53] Yeah.

[00:39:54] So make sure, make sure, you know, you submit the deal,

[00:39:58] get in there, have a great time.

[00:39:59] A lot of great people.

[00:40:01] If you don't have any friends, it's a good place to meet friends.

[00:40:05] You know, and one, and one thing we talked about,

[00:40:07] we didn't talk about is we're introducing a manga library this

[00:40:11] year where if you want to just chill out,

[00:40:13] you can read manga and relax and take it easy for a bit.

[00:40:16] So yeah.

[00:40:17] Oh, that's cool.

[00:40:18] Like a low sensory room.

[00:40:20] I like that.

[00:40:21] That's nice.

[00:40:21] Yeah.

[00:40:22] Yeah.

[00:40:22] Cause you know, a lot of in anime, most, I think the average

[00:40:26] age is between 1821 and, uh, you know, they get tired.

[00:40:31] So it can get really loud in the convention centers just

[00:40:35] because the, it's like the noise reverberates off itself.

[00:40:39] And so you can get overwhelmed.

[00:40:41] Yeah.

[00:40:41] I would like to know your guys's opinion of the venue because,

[00:40:45] you know, when I watch you guys all the time and you guys had

[00:40:48] never mentioned much about rogue X.

[00:40:51] So just be curious about what your guys's thoughts of that venue

[00:40:53] is with your experience with previous venues in the area.

[00:40:57] In comparison to every venue that you guys have done in

[00:41:01] Medford in that area that is by far the best, uh, uh,

[00:41:06] like, like, like hands down, it's not even close.

[00:41:08] This was the best venue that you guys have ever been in in that

[00:41:12] area.

[00:41:12] Right now, now which is your all time favorite between all the

[00:41:15] events, which is your favorite venue?

[00:41:17] Oh God.

[00:41:18] Um, so far, uh, I'm sorry man, uh, but the Atlantis, uh,

[00:41:23] I agree.

[00:41:24] I agree with you.

[00:41:25] The venue at Reno, especially with the new room that we

[00:41:28] got this year, um, that is by far our,

[00:41:31] our hands down favorite and more exclusives.

[00:41:33] By the way, I always give you guys exclusivity or adding

[00:41:36] three more rooms to Reno.

[00:41:38] So we're adding a lot more stuff.

[00:41:41] So awesome.

[00:41:42] It's from circus, circus when you guys were there to what it is now.

[00:41:47] It's Marina tells me the dream is to take it all, take the

[00:41:50] whole, take the whole convedicis.

[00:41:52] That would be nice.

[00:41:54] But maybe, you know, who knows who knows.

[00:41:56] But speaking of Reno, uh, shout out the Time Warp toys,

[00:42:00] uh, just to kind of like throw the tea out there.

[00:42:03] They're on our, um, right now they're,

[00:42:06] they're on Instagram, uh, and they've been commenting.

[00:42:08] Uh, yeah.

[00:42:08] Time Warp was in Reno.

[00:42:10] Shout out to Time Warp.

[00:42:10] They're really cool.

[00:42:11] They actually gave us a bunch of really cool prizes.

[00:42:14] They did.

[00:42:15] And they gave us good prizes there, but they also,

[00:42:17] uh, came by and gave me a bunch of prizes this weekend

[00:42:20] because we were in the area.

[00:42:21] Um, they gave me a nine graded,

[00:42:24] uh, uh, holographic Zubat to give away.

[00:42:28] Wow.

[00:42:28] Uh, and then they gave us a,

[00:42:30] um, another, um, uh, trainers pack for Pokemon cards.

[00:42:34] So we're going to be giving those away at, uh, at, at a Medford.

[00:42:38] Uh, and, and just throwing it out there.

[00:42:41] Cause I was telling them like, Hey guys, shout out,

[00:42:43] cause they were in the chat and said, thank you perfect show

[00:42:45] for us to give that away because there's a bunch of Pokemon

[00:42:47] actors there.

[00:42:47] And they said, yeah, that's awesome.

[00:42:49] Uh, we should have given you guys the great at Charizard,

[00:42:51] but maybe next time I'm like, Oh my God.

[00:42:53] That is way too generous.

[00:42:55] That is way too generous.

[00:42:58] I just might do a trade for that.

[00:43:00] You know, I'll give you one of my funcoes or something

[00:43:02] for that.

[00:43:03] They said, but, but their response was time warp owes

[00:43:06] everything to the people.

[00:43:07] It's the least we can do.

[00:43:08] They are amazing.

[00:43:09] So again, shout outs to Time Warp toys.

[00:43:12] We love you guys.

[00:43:13] We love seeing you guys at Colossus girl events.

[00:43:16] Um, and, and they, uh, between them and I know a vendor

[00:43:20] that's going to be at Anna Medford, uh, uh,

[00:43:23] we assure you were open.

[00:43:24] Uh, they gave, they have given us the best prizes.

[00:43:28] Uh, and I know we sure you were open as talked about

[00:43:31] helping us out again.

[00:43:32] So, uh, again, anything we can do to give away that we

[00:43:35] can give the congoers the best experience we can,

[00:43:38] we're going to do it.

[00:43:40] So, right.

[00:43:40] And then maybe he'll have a fan club there too.

[00:43:43] Maybe you heard about the Reno thing, right?

[00:43:45] Like I have, I developed the fan club in Reno.

[00:43:48] Well, I don't think I heard that.

[00:43:50] I don't think James wants to hear it again, but I'm

[00:43:52] interested.

[00:43:53] Yeah.

[00:43:53] It was just because from giving away prizes and,

[00:43:56] uh, things like that.

[00:43:57] Yeah.

[00:43:57] I know my head is blowing up.

[00:44:00] There, there were some comments that came up that kind

[00:44:03] of blew my mind.

[00:44:04] Some of it was like, oh yeah, uh, we want to see you take

[00:44:08] your shirt off.

[00:44:08] I'm like, nobody wants to see that.

[00:44:09] Nobody wants to see that at all.

[00:44:12] Um, but like just, there were like levels of kind of,

[00:44:15] uh, groups of people that would just really,

[00:44:18] I would say enamored with me.

[00:44:20] Uh, and we got a lot of,

[00:44:22] So did you take your shirt off?

[00:44:23] I did not because I, nobody wants to see me take

[00:44:25] You've got to give the fans what they want, man.

[00:44:28] Nobody really wants to see that.

[00:44:29] There's a limit.

[00:44:30] There's a limit.

[00:44:31] Trust me.

[00:44:31] I don't want to see that.

[00:44:32] I look in the mirror and I'm disgusted.

[00:44:34] Come on, man.

[00:44:36] You are not afraid to buy their affection.

[00:44:38] Let's go.

[00:44:39] Yeah.

[00:44:39] I'm not afraid to buy their affection, but I am,

[00:44:41] I am afraid to show them my chest.

[00:44:44] So James, I mean, Phil is not a buddy too.

[00:44:47] Is he?

[00:44:48] Not that good.

[00:44:49] Um, you know the head's about the same size.

[00:44:53] Oh, wow.

[00:44:56] But good, but good thing.

[00:44:58] Uh, young Phil knows how to do audio and video.

[00:45:02] You know what I mean?

[00:45:04] Um, I'm going to throw it out there.

[00:45:06] I humbly think that anybody would ever be a fan of me,

[00:45:09] but I am nobody.

[00:45:10] So I am not worthy.

[00:45:12] Well, you're still so I'm worthy.

[00:45:16] James is more like, how come they can't be my fans?

[00:45:18] I want to be my fans.

[00:45:20] I'll give you my shirt.

[00:45:21] So I'm a James fan.

[00:45:23] Oh, we're all James fans.

[00:45:24] When he actually goes to the show.

[00:45:26] Yeah, exactly.

[00:45:28] The blind man.

[00:45:30] Well, James was at Silver Age this year.

[00:45:34] I think that's the only thing that's here.

[00:45:35] I was at day two of Silver Age.

[00:45:37] Yeah.

[00:45:38] There's so many shows it's like someone will say,

[00:45:40] Hey, when's the date for the next event?

[00:45:42] I'm like, I have no idea.

[00:45:44] I just have to look.

[00:45:46] Um, and uh, yeah, Tri City,

[00:45:48] the big announcement for powerhouse.

[00:45:49] What's huge.

[00:45:50] So yeah, we'll have to let's talk about that at a later date.

[00:45:53] But I want to know a ton more about that.

[00:45:55] And I always ask you this like what goes into like finding where

[00:46:00] to do a con?

[00:46:01] How do you do a con in powerhouse is kind of your baby.

[00:46:04] Right.

[00:46:04] Yeah.

[00:46:05] I mean, um, not to get too personal, but powerhouse.

[00:46:09] Um, he's still the only, um,

[00:46:12] black American character that represents a convention in the

[00:46:17] United States of America.

[00:46:18] And I did not want to see him go period,

[00:46:23] uh, because it's a special place for us.

[00:46:25] He that character.

[00:46:27] And so, uh, the new comic book that's coming out, um,

[00:46:31] we'll explain his move.

[00:46:32] So sort of speak.

[00:46:34] I can't wait.

[00:46:35] Yeah.

[00:46:36] Don't forget, get your comic books.

[00:46:37] You got to get in early, get those comic books.

[00:46:39] Well, not for Anna Medford cause it's not a comic con.

[00:46:42] No, but you're not going to have the comic books there.

[00:46:45] Nope.

[00:46:45] That's the only show we don't have the free comic books.

[00:46:47] Yeah.

[00:46:47] Yeah.

[00:46:48] It's anime.

[00:46:49] We have some exclusive posters and stickers and things like that.

[00:46:54] But the funny thing is, is Annie, the mascot of Anna Medford is

[00:46:59] in the comic books.

[00:47:00] Yeah.

[00:47:01] But the comic books are not given out at Anna Medford.

[00:47:04] Oh, interesting.

[00:47:05] Isn't that interesting?

[00:47:06] Yeah.

[00:47:07] I like it.

[00:47:07] I like it.

[00:47:08] I'll come get those posters and stickers and there still be a

[00:47:11] ton of exclusives.

[00:47:12] It'll be awesome.

[00:47:12] All kinds of stuff.

[00:47:13] Yeah.

[00:47:13] Anna Medford, September 21st, 22nd, Medford, Oregon.

[00:47:18] Dave, thank you so much.

[00:47:20] Tell Marina we said hi and thank you and tell her thank you for

[00:47:23] doing all her hard work.

[00:47:25] Yes, I will.

[00:47:26] And after this interview, I can try to continue my Harry Potter

[00:47:30] marathon.

[00:47:31] So which one are you on now?

[00:47:33] I finished the one after order of the Phoenix, whatever that

[00:47:37] one was.

[00:47:38] Um, the, oh, God.

[00:47:40] Yeah.

[00:47:40] I'm going to go ahead and do it.

[00:47:40] So I have two blood prints.

[00:47:43] I saw half blood prints I saw last night.

[00:47:46] Okay.

[00:47:46] So then we're going to watch the next last two.

[00:47:49] You've never seen them?

[00:47:50] I've never seen them before.

[00:47:51] Um,

[00:47:52] but you know what?

[00:47:53] I was very disappointed in all of them until it got to the

[00:47:56] order of the Phoenix.

[00:47:57] I thought that one was pretty, pretty decent.

[00:47:59] It gets a little more adultish.

[00:48:01] Yeah.

[00:48:01] Half blood prints was pretty good.

[00:48:04] But my only disappointing because you know,

[00:48:06] I'm a writer and I was disappointed in J.K.

[00:48:09] Rowling.

[00:48:09] And you may have seen this on my Facebook,

[00:48:11] Phil or Phil and James.

[00:48:13] But I said Abra Kandabra.

[00:48:16] That's the death kill.

[00:48:17] That's the death kill spell that's best you can do.

[00:48:20] Right for this.

[00:48:22] I mean, come on man.

[00:48:23] So that means any kid who buys a magician's kit at Target or

[00:48:27] Walmart will have the death kill spell.

[00:48:31] So it's not actually Abra Kandabra.

[00:48:33] Remember it's very, um,

[00:48:36] it's very specific on the way you have to say the

[00:48:37] spells, right?

[00:48:38] It's Abra Kandabra.

[00:48:39] Yeah.

[00:48:40] Well, and Abra Kandabra.

[00:48:43] And fun fact, if you haven't Dave,

[00:48:45] if you haven't gone to,

[00:48:47] if you haven't watched Deadpool versus John Wick on YouTube yet,

[00:48:51] because the movie is out on YouTube now.

[00:48:53] Starring young Phil.

[00:48:54] Starring young Phil.

[00:48:55] There is a scene where we did a whole bunch of editing,

[00:48:59] but it's a combination of a scene from Harry Potter and

[00:49:04] the Harry Potter meme that's out there right now.

[00:49:07] So basically I come on screen and,

[00:49:10] and Voldemort's like looking around like what the hell is

[00:49:13] happening right now?

[00:49:14] He goes to do a Vatikadava and I do the meme.

[00:49:17] Right.

[00:49:18] And I pull out a gun and shoot him.

[00:49:19] So I'll have to,

[00:49:22] I saw a show on your show.

[00:49:25] I wasn't sure if it was completed yet or not.

[00:49:27] It wasn't.

[00:49:28] So the one that was on was a rough cut.

[00:49:30] The full version is on, is on YouTube right now.

[00:49:34] We'll send it to you.

[00:49:34] I did watch Deadpool Wolverine in theaters.

[00:49:40] And my favorite part was Wesley Snipes is back.

[00:49:43] That was my favorite part.

[00:49:44] I don't care.

[00:49:46] The best scenes of any Marvel movies is when you have

[00:49:49] Wesley Snipes as Blade in a fight scene with house music.

[00:49:54] Nothing beats that.

[00:49:55] Yeah.

[00:49:56] That is a good point.

[00:49:57] No, I will give you that.

[00:49:58] That is 100% something that is amazing.

[00:50:00] I was really impressed with Channing Tatum,

[00:50:03] but I did enjoy all of the cameos like Wesley Snipes and

[00:50:07] Jennifer Garner and all that.

[00:50:09] Cause even if I didn't really like the movies, you know,

[00:50:13] when they're still part of Marvel.

[00:50:15] So I have to.

[00:50:16] Well after, you know,

[00:50:17] watching all those actors and everything and like Electra,

[00:50:20] I enjoyed Electra for what it was and the reference to

[00:50:23] Daredevil and all this.

[00:50:24] And after the movie and started to see those scenes from,

[00:50:27] you know,

[00:50:28] a younger Hugh Jackman and all that.

[00:50:30] And you realize, wow, it has been that long.

[00:50:32] And you realize, you know what?

[00:50:35] I did enjoy those movies.

[00:50:36] Those were good movies.

[00:50:38] And I just like how they kind of closed it all together.

[00:50:41] Ryan Reynolds did an amazing job.

[00:50:43] Believe me or not.

[00:50:44] Yeah.

[00:50:45] I agree.

[00:50:47] Let's go watch a movie together.

[00:50:48] Maybe that's what we do.

[00:50:49] Like that's what I was going to say.

[00:50:51] We should do an unofficial official after party or maybe

[00:50:54] movie viewing after animated.

[00:50:56] Yeah, we should do that.

[00:50:57] You know, we did that a couple of times in Boise.

[00:51:00] hmm.

[00:51:01] Yeah, you know, or we just ran out an entire theater.

[00:51:03] I love it. Yeah, hope to plan that.

[00:51:04] We'll, we'll workshop.

[00:51:06] Exactly.

[00:51:06] That's a lover you thank you so much, people call

[00:51:09] your people James right.

[00:51:12] We appreciate you Dave.

[00:51:14] Uh, thank you for coming on the show and promoting

[00:51:17] the, uh,

[00:51:18] Andra Medford and we can't wait two weeks and

[00:51:21] we're going to have such a good time.

[00:51:23] Yeah,

[00:51:23] we'll see you guys very soon.

[00:51:25] and the most fun exhaustion you can have.

[00:51:28] And we'll see Sandra and her young son and her husband.

[00:51:34] And we'll see what's her name, what do you call him?

[00:51:37] Tater Tyler?

[00:51:38] Tater's probably gonna be sleeping in the car.

[00:51:40] That's fine.

[00:51:40] Tippi Tyler Toe, do you know who that is?

[00:51:44] Tippi Tyler Toe?

[00:51:45] Tippi Tyler Hoe, it was like from a,

[00:51:47] it was from the 70s or something.

[00:51:50] It's like a kid's story.

[00:51:52] Yeah, it was like Tippi Tippi Tippi.

[00:51:53] And like, yeah.

[00:51:56] I vaguely remember it when I was a kid

[00:51:58] and I was like, wait a minute.

[00:51:59] Things are popping in my head.

[00:52:01] You know?

[00:52:02] Anyway, sorry for keeping you guys.

[00:52:04] You know, I love the chat.

[00:52:07] Yeah, I don't get enough time.

[00:52:08] You know what I really miss

[00:52:09] is those bracket things you guys used to do.

[00:52:13] We do those on the Thursday shows.

[00:52:15] I'm sad because I missed those.

[00:52:17] You can, whenever you wanna come hang out.

[00:52:19] If you ever wanna come on a Thursday show,

[00:52:20] by all means man.

[00:52:21] You know, I squeeze my full size body,

[00:52:26] my hentai body pillow and I sob in it

[00:52:28] because I missed them.

[00:52:29] Ha ha ha ha.

[00:52:31] What are we currently doing right now?

[00:52:32] I think we're doing Marvel villains right now.

[00:52:35] Oh, nice.

[00:52:36] Yeah.

[00:52:37] If I'm the one that's in charge of brackets,

[00:52:40] we very rarely get to the brackets

[00:52:41] because I get really involved in the interview.

[00:52:44] No, that's good.

[00:52:46] All right guys, well thanks for having me

[00:52:48] and we'll see you guys very soon.

[00:52:50] Thank you so much.

[00:52:51] Thanks for coming.

[00:52:52] Have a good day.

[00:52:53] Arigato, arigato.

[00:52:55] Arigato, wassamos.

[00:52:56] Arigato.

[00:52:56] Yes.

[00:52:57] Hi, hi.

[00:52:59] All right, no bye.

[00:53:00] Bye bye.

[00:53:01] Ha ha ha.

[00:53:02] I love it man.

[00:53:04] Oh look, we've got a blank screen

[00:53:06] with a mob stash here so.

[00:53:09] He'll be back.

[00:53:10] He'll be back.

[00:53:11] All right, let's go back here.

[00:53:13] So ladies and gentlemen,

[00:53:14] let's talk about the rest of our clients.

[00:53:16] What up Ash?

[00:53:18] Hey.

[00:53:18] How you doing?

[00:53:19] Where you been?

[00:53:20] Listening.

[00:53:21] Oh, okay.

[00:53:22] Oh dear god.

[00:53:23] But all of a sudden I was like,

[00:53:24] oh I'm gonna try to fit in dinner

[00:53:26] and then all of a sudden I was like,

[00:53:27] oh come back.

[00:53:28] I was like oh shit.

[00:53:29] Eric just said we need Phil and James body pillows.

[00:53:32] That's so bad.

[00:53:34] All right.

[00:53:35] I am a body pillow.

[00:53:36] Have you seen this?

[00:53:37] But Phil will have to have a shirt on in his

[00:53:39] because nobody needs to see him with that.

[00:53:41] No we need to see that whatsoever.

[00:53:42] All right well ladies and gentlemen,

[00:53:43] let's talk about Kaboom Khan

[00:53:45] because that's what we just did over this weekend.

[00:53:47] Kaboom Khan was a blast.

[00:53:49] We had a good, good time.

[00:53:51] So it was just this Saturday over here.

[00:53:53] Lawrence and Diego Iriarte were there.

[00:53:55] Chris Meranin, Brent Anderson,

[00:53:57] whole bunch of artists and vendors.

[00:53:59] We had a blast of a time considering what it was.

[00:54:04] It was a smaller scale Khan,

[00:54:06] but we still had a good time.

[00:54:08] Did you get a chance to talk to Chris Meranin?

[00:54:11] He was sitting right next to us.

[00:54:12] Oh yeah, but did you talk to him?

[00:54:14] So the reason why I'm asking

[00:54:16] because you know how he did a lot of Nova books?

[00:54:19] Back in the day, I totally want to pick his brain

[00:54:22] and see if he'll spill some tea.

[00:54:24] I'm not talking you know breaking an NDA

[00:54:26] but I'm kind of talking about breaking an NDA

[00:54:28] and see if he'll tell us any like Nova information

[00:54:32] now that Kevin Feige said that he's gonna,

[00:54:34] that they're gonna do a Nova series on Disney Plus.

[00:54:37] And they did say that it's supposed to be based

[00:54:40] on one of the runs that he did too.

[00:54:42] Exactly.

[00:54:43] So I think that that is a big deal that you know

[00:54:47] like they're, they just announced they're doing Nova

[00:54:49] which we'll get into later on in the show.

[00:54:51] But I mean,

[00:54:52] You're right okay.

[00:54:53] Yeah, but Chris Meranin,

[00:54:56] you know again friend of the show

[00:54:57] we've done an interview with Chris Meranin in the past

[00:55:00] hung out with them over the course of the weekend

[00:55:02] but this Nova show that they're doing

[00:55:05] is supposed to be based on one of Chris Meranin's runs

[00:55:08] which I love so.

[00:55:10] Yes Kaboom Khan, shout out to Mark and James.

[00:55:13] It was a really fun show.

[00:55:17] We got in there.

[00:55:19] We very cool dudes, very cool.

[00:55:20] Very cool dudes.

[00:55:22] We so we had three interviews and it was fun

[00:55:26] because like everything was kind of like spread out.

[00:55:28] So we have like breaks and everything like that.

[00:55:31] But like you know the first interview we did was

[00:55:36] which was filmmaking in Northern Nevada.

[00:55:39] Yeah, horror dads.

[00:55:40] With horror dads.

[00:55:41] We talked about some of the new things

[00:55:43] that they're doing but then we also talked

[00:55:44] to the infamous rebel and he had a lot of fun stuff

[00:55:47] that we talked to about his filmmaking techniques

[00:55:50] and everything.

[00:55:51] It was fun stuff.

[00:55:52] The second interview we did was with sci-fi.

[00:55:55] It was the Wolfsbane.

[00:55:56] I don't know why it was named Wolfsbane.

[00:55:58] He called it Wolfsbane and Bloom

[00:56:00] because it was supposed to be like based on sci-fi horror

[00:56:03] and stuff like that and he just figured

[00:56:05] that sounded like a cool name but yeah.

[00:56:08] That interview was with three different sci-fi writers

[00:56:14] talking about books and that again was a very fun thing.

[00:56:18] Oh, that's right.

[00:56:18] Stephen Provost, Jade Griffin and MC Huntin.

[00:56:23] And they were fun.

[00:56:24] They were very insightful in the way

[00:56:28] and they all write three different genres,

[00:56:31] subgenres within sci-fi.

[00:56:32] So it was kind of fun to talk about all the things

[00:56:34] that they do and how they get their ideas.

[00:56:36] Jeff bringing up in the chat, that's right.

[00:56:38] When we were talking with horror dads,

[00:56:40] Tahoe Joe came on stage with us.

[00:56:43] That's cool.

[00:56:44] And I kept dropping jokes the entire time

[00:56:46] because the guy who was in the suit every couple of minutes

[00:56:49] would be like, hey, drink a waterman.

[00:56:50] Everything okay down there?

[00:56:52] Squatting, squatting, squatting, squatting.

[00:56:54] Everything good?

[00:56:55] Squatting, squatting, squatting.

[00:56:56] Just making all the jokes and he like it was

[00:56:59] my goal was just to make him laugh out loud

[00:57:01] and I got it to happen.

[00:57:02] So he was laughing in that suit trying not to.

[00:57:08] And they appreciated it because like, you know,

[00:57:10] I was at the end when I, you know, when I asked,

[00:57:13] so what's some advice that you might give

[00:57:14] for anybody trying to get into the filming industry?

[00:57:16] And everybody gave their advice and I was like,

[00:57:18] Sasquatch drink water and he's like, drink water.

[00:57:21] I was like, good.

[00:57:23] I was like, you hot down there?

[00:57:24] Is it hot in that suit or what's going on man?

[00:57:27] And shout out to Infamous Rebel too.

[00:57:29] He was part of the panel.

[00:57:30] Super nice.

[00:57:31] And he gave us a ton of information ahead of time.

[00:57:34] So yeah, so Infamous Rebel is actually,

[00:57:36] he is now booked on the show.

[00:57:38] So we're going to be talking to him soon.

[00:57:40] William Gray.

[00:57:41] Yes.

[00:57:42] He was, he's a really fun guy.

[00:57:45] I'm going to watch more of his films just because

[00:57:48] the stuff that he does is fun.

[00:57:50] Very, very post apocalyptic action style stuff.

[00:57:54] And and I enjoyed the one thing I did watch.

[00:57:57] So now I want to watch everything that he has.

[00:57:59] Awesome.

[00:58:00] So going from there again, we talked about the sci-fi.

[00:58:03] And then the third interview we did was with a couple friends of the show.

[00:58:07] The comic panel.

[00:58:09] It was a comic panel, indie comic panel.

[00:58:11] It also turned out to be a an impromptu API.

[00:58:16] No, no.

[00:58:16] Oh wow.

[00:58:17] Yeah.

[00:58:18] Yeah, that's cool.

[00:58:19] All three of the creators that were on that panel were Asian.

[00:58:23] So we ended up talking about like being.

[00:58:25] And you're like half Asian.

[00:58:27] I mean, you know what I mean?

[00:58:28] You're like, you're from you're from the Bay.

[00:58:30] So you're like half.

[00:58:31] I'm from the Bay.

[00:58:32] My mom, my mom was adopted and my grandfather was Filipino.

[00:58:35] But I mean, we're still Nicaraguan.

[00:58:37] So yeah.

[00:58:38] But like, yeah, it's it was kind of cool to like kind of talk about all that.

[00:58:44] And we had a lot of fun with them.

[00:58:46] Now also I see sounds comics or I see sounds productions.

[00:58:52] They put on a voice actor thing, right?

[00:58:56] Where all the voice actors in all their audio dramas were all on stage doing a QA.

[00:59:01] And I sat in on a little bit of it and at the end of the QA James, who was moderating it

[00:59:05] because he's also a director and an actor on it.

[00:59:07] James from Kaboom Khan.

[00:59:09] Kaboom Khan.

[00:59:10] You could see and he appreciated this, but like you can see at the end

[00:59:13] he was kind of like, what do I ask?

[00:59:16] I was like, hey James, you want to do something fun?

[00:59:17] And he was like sure.

[00:59:19] And I was like and I just walked on stage and he was like, oh God, this

[00:59:22] doesn't bode well.

[00:59:23] Right.

[00:59:24] But you know, like all the actors are all improv actors.

[00:59:27] So they all just start like cracking jokes and I get on stage.

[00:59:30] I open up one of our interviews and I asked the the worst sequel question

[00:59:34] because I figured it's a bunch of actors, right?

[00:59:36] So like why not do the worst sequel question that we usually ask?

[00:59:40] So for those of you who may not know what that question is, it's

[00:59:44] if a sequel were made for any movie, what would be the worst sequel ever made?

[00:59:49] And I gave him the caveat that it's it's not a sequel that's already been made.

[00:59:54] It's if a sequel were made for a movie that did not need to be made,

[00:59:58] what would that sequel be?

[00:59:59] And and again, the improv actors and the amount of comedy that ensued

[01:00:04] from there was so good.

[01:00:06] And then it ended and James was just like, dude, that was great

[01:00:10] and we needed that.

[01:00:11] So so yeah, it was a it was a whole bunch of fun.

[01:00:16] The show in general was good.

[01:00:18] And yeah, now we had a great time.

[01:00:21] And so Kaboom Khan, ladies and gentlemen, was a good time.

[01:00:24] Now the next show that we have on the docket.

[01:00:27] I know we just talked about Anna Medford, but before Anna Medford coming up

[01:00:32] in two days, we're doing another show.

[01:00:35] We're going to be at Crocker Khan, ladies and gentlemen here in Sacramento.

[01:00:38] So make your way to that.

[01:00:42] It is going to be a good time.

[01:00:44] Yeah, it'll be fun.

[01:00:45] Thursdays, September 12th, 6 to 9 p.m.

[01:00:48] downtown Sacramento at the Crocker Art Museum.

[01:00:51] It's going to be fun.

[01:00:52] There's going to be two different panel rooms, tons of vendors, tons

[01:00:56] of artists are going to be there.

[01:00:57] Hey, it's a museum.

[01:00:58] There's going to be a ton of artists there.

[01:00:59] Yeah.

[01:01:00] I don't know how they did it, but they packed this full.

[01:01:03] There's going to be it's a three hour show, two panel rooms.

[01:01:06] Yeah.

[01:01:06] I think there's eight panelist guests that we're going to interview

[01:01:10] plus an hour long comedy show all within this three hours.

[01:01:14] It's crazy.

[01:01:16] Crocker Khan is going to be fun.

[01:01:18] It's going to be a ton of fun.

[01:01:19] And somehow me and James are moderating all of it.

[01:01:22] So yeah, so there's going to be like comic book artists,

[01:01:25] comic strip artists, muralists are going to be there,

[01:01:29] artists are going to be there.

[01:01:30] It's going to be awesome.

[01:01:31] Super fun.

[01:01:32] Isn't there like a comedy, an improv comedy?

[01:01:35] Yeah, it's going to be an hour comedy show at the end.

[01:01:37] Yeah, like that.

[01:01:38] It sounds so eclectic and very calmed.

[01:01:42] I mean seriously.

[01:01:42] I'm like, this is the most eclectic California thing.

[01:01:46] I think I've heard of in a while.

[01:01:47] Aaron, Aaron Watson's comment.

[01:01:49] Crocker Khan, that's a load of wait for it.

[01:01:51] Croc.

[01:01:53] Please like me.

[01:01:56] That's funny.

[01:01:57] Shout out to Watson.

[01:01:58] Watson, come on up.

[01:01:59] You speaking of Watson?

[01:02:00] I think some of your old Harley Harrow's buddies are going to be there.

[01:02:04] Yep.

[01:02:04] I think sector seven will be there.

[01:02:06] So anyone said hi to Ash yet?

[01:02:08] Hi, Ash.

[01:02:08] I said hi to Ash.

[01:02:10] He talked for like a second.

[01:02:11] Okay, we're done with all the stuff.

[01:02:13] Hi, Ash.

[01:02:15] Oh, now he's muted.

[01:02:16] I see.

[01:02:17] I'm not the only one that does that.

[01:02:18] I'm not so muted.

[01:02:19] He's doing it on purpose, I think though.

[01:02:21] I think it's a bit.

[01:02:22] Yeah, you're muted.

[01:02:23] Yeah, no, you're not.

[01:02:26] He could have been talking this whole time.

[01:02:27] Yeah.

[01:02:28] He's like I was.

[01:02:29] Okay, you're unmuted now.

[01:02:33] They let me go on for a good minute and a half last time.

[01:02:37] So I just like learning about the, I mean, we only know so far

[01:02:41] as in LA, we don't LA, Comic Con, San Diego, like all these.

[01:02:44] I've never even heard of that's awesome.

[01:02:46] Yeah, LA, Comic Con.

[01:02:47] We're going to be at that too.

[01:02:48] That's, but that's, that's not so, that's not so after this current push

[01:02:50] that we're on right now.

[01:02:52] It's just awesome because like, you know, there's people that maybe not

[01:02:55] want to go to the big ones.

[01:02:57] They want to go to the ones where they're going to actually meet bands

[01:03:00] and really like get to know people.

[01:03:02] You know what I mean?

[01:03:03] Yeah.

[01:03:03] Yeah.

[01:03:03] The smaller ones are also good because you can cut your teeth on them

[01:03:07] and then like, cause if you try to cut your teeth on like a San Diego,

[01:03:10] Comic Con first, but it'll give you PTSD.

[01:03:13] I mean, it really well.

[01:03:15] Yeah.

[01:03:15] Hey, we were in Pasadena like three weeks ago, four weeks ago at Power Morphincon.

[01:03:20] Where were you?

[01:03:21] That's why my hubcaps are gone.

[01:03:22] Yeah.

[01:03:23] I got them.

[01:03:24] Specific.

[01:03:25] If you want them back, you just said LA Comic Con.

[01:03:29] I don't know what Pasadena thing was that in our chat

[01:03:32] because I don't remember it probably.

[01:03:34] Power Morphincon.

[01:03:35] It's like one of the biggest Power Rangers Comic Con in the country.

[01:03:38] Crypto-Connolike.

[01:03:39] It's the biggest Power Rangers.

[01:03:41] I'm a Voltron guy.

[01:03:42] My bad.

[01:03:43] Gavron.

[01:03:44] Nothing I had to pick.

[01:03:45] I just, I never liked that we talk while we're doing this.

[01:03:49] I was supposed to do it.

[01:03:51] But RIP, Green and White Ranger.

[01:03:53] That guy was awesome.

[01:03:55] Yeah.

[01:03:55] But you know who was there?

[01:03:56] You know who was there who Phil got to interview before but I really

[01:03:59] geeked out on?

[01:04:00] He helped create the Power Rangers but Tony Oliver.

[01:04:05] Yeah.

[01:04:05] Oh yeah.

[01:04:06] So I have to interview him as well, right?

[01:04:08] Yeah.

[01:04:08] Tony Oliver who helped make Power Rangers but he was the voice

[01:04:12] of Rick Hunter from Robotech.

[01:04:15] Oh shit.

[01:04:15] Yeah.

[01:04:16] Okay.

[01:04:16] That's what I said when I saw him.

[01:04:18] Like we passed each other in like an alleyway and I was

[01:04:21] like, Tony Oliver.

[01:04:24] And he's like really, you know, James is not kidding.

[01:04:27] That's literally how he did it.

[01:04:29] And I was like, Tony Oliver.

[01:04:30] And I was like, hey Tony, what's up man?

[01:04:31] And he's like, oh hey, it's like, it was like, I've never seen

[01:04:36] James actually be star struck considering all the celebrities

[01:04:38] that we've met.

[01:04:39] Yeah.

[01:04:40] And it was like Tony Oliver was like, oh my God, it's Tony

[01:04:43] Oliver.

[01:04:43] And I was like, oh Tony, hey, what's up man?

[01:04:46] That's cool.

[01:04:47] He said my name.

[01:04:48] So if I butcher the name, the big brother from Boy Meets

[01:04:53] Worlds, Will Friddle.

[01:04:55] Oh, Will Friddle.

[01:04:56] Yeah.

[01:04:56] Friddle.

[01:04:57] Okay.

[01:04:57] So he had just done this panel.

[01:04:59] I think it was San Diego Comic Con or LA Comic Con, one of

[01:05:02] those, but anyway, it was for Batman Beyond.

[01:05:08] Yeah.

[01:05:08] That's what I was saying.

[01:05:10] He also plays Jeremy Guinness.

[01:05:11] Yes.

[01:05:12] They asked him a bunch of questions and then pretty

[01:05:14] much maybe about an hour later, I went to the rest

[01:05:17] room and I'm washing my hands and I look up and

[01:05:19] he's there and I was like, oh, I just look right

[01:05:22] back down.

[01:05:22] Like I wasn't paying attention like, oh, it's cool.

[01:05:25] What's up, bro?

[01:05:26] Yeah.

[01:05:27] I came outside and I was like, Esteban, but you saw me

[01:05:31] do this right when I walked out and then I was like, so

[01:05:34] then what you want to do is you want to act like he

[01:05:38] was a stranger and I was giving him directions.

[01:05:40] It was the worst cover up ever.

[01:05:43] That's funny.

[01:05:44] That's exactly how I met Ming Chen was we were at

[01:05:49] Stockton Con and we're on our way out and we just

[01:05:52] happened to both go in the bathroom at the same time

[01:05:54] and then we just started making dick jokes and it was

[01:05:57] hilarious.

[01:05:58] That's how I met Reeve McIntyre.

[01:06:01] You made dick jokes with her?

[01:06:02] No.

[01:06:02] In the bathroom?

[01:06:03] In the bathroom.

[01:06:04] In Ireland.

[01:06:05] That's right.

[01:06:05] I don't do it.

[01:06:06] But it's funny because men remembered me like, you know,

[01:06:09] fast forward, we go to the Gemstate Comic Con and

[01:06:13] I reintroduced myself to him and I was like.

[01:06:15] In the bathroom?

[01:06:16] No, no, at his booth before the show.

[01:06:19] In Ireland.

[01:06:19] Yeah, in Ireland.

[01:06:20] But no, I made a joke about like, you remember

[01:06:24] the time when we first met?

[01:06:24] He goes to the bathroom at Stockton Con.

[01:06:26] I was like, yeah.

[01:06:30] So like it was funny that he remembered me right from

[01:06:33] like that one moment.

[01:06:35] He was like, no, how would I not remember that that

[01:06:37] shit was hilarious?

[01:06:38] Did he ask you to take your shirt off?

[01:06:40] No, no, that was only in Reno.

[01:06:42] I want to say that I want to say specifically that

[01:06:46] only the cast of the cast of clerks have asked me

[01:06:50] to do that.

[01:06:51] Nice.

[01:06:53] So moving on because we're just making jokes and we've got

[01:06:57] to get into the show.

[01:06:58] We're an hour and a half in and haven't discussed

[01:07:00] any news stories.

[01:07:02] I'll play mash.

[01:07:03] I'll play mash.

[01:07:04] Yeah, for sure.

[01:07:05] Ladies and gentlemen, it is now time to start some rumors.

[01:07:20] Where you where you I want to stop some rumors.

[01:07:24] Where you who got the first one?

[01:07:30] I volunteer as tribute.

[01:07:32] Oh, that was a really good segue there.

[01:07:36] James.

[01:07:37] Nice.

[01:07:38] 100% A plot.

[01:07:40] There's Suzanne Collins is writing a new Hunger Games

[01:07:43] novel titled The Hunger Games Sunrise on the

[01:07:47] reaping and Lionsgate will develop it as a film.

[01:07:51] So let me get this straight.

[01:07:51] She hasn't even written the book yet and Lionsgate is

[01:07:55] like, no, no, we're going to make it.

[01:07:57] Okay.

[01:07:58] According to the latest rumor, West Side Story and

[01:08:01] Challenger star Mike fast or going with that may be

[01:08:06] in line to lead the cast of the film.

[01:08:08] I don't know this kid and he may take on the role

[01:08:11] of a young version of Hamitch Abernathy who was

[01:08:16] played by Woody Harrelson in the original one

[01:08:19] that Rachel movies.

[01:08:21] So yeah, I think that that's kind of cool.

[01:08:24] Do we want to Hamitch origin story?

[01:08:27] You know my talk is are kind of on the table for this.

[01:08:30] I kind of want to see what what Hamitch is Hamitch's

[01:08:33] story is.

[01:08:34] Yeah, I really like when I first because I'm a huge

[01:08:38] Hunger Games fan.

[01:08:39] So when I went I read the books before I watched

[01:08:43] the movies and all that stuff and I really liked

[01:08:47] Hamitch's story and he was at a quarter.

[01:08:50] He was at the quarter.

[01:08:51] So he was at the first one.

[01:08:53] Right.

[01:08:53] Then that's kind of what I'm wondering is if this is this

[01:08:56] going to be the story of the quarter?

[01:08:57] Well, or is it specifically about how he won one of

[01:09:02] the Hunger Games?

[01:09:03] Like yeah, it's going to be interesting to see where

[01:09:06] they go with this story because I mean there is

[01:09:08] plenty of lore for them to get into.

[01:09:10] Yeah, I think and this I feel like this universe

[01:09:14] this I P that they've created has a lot of depth that

[01:09:18] they could go to more than some of the other I P's like

[01:09:23] from books.

[01:09:23] So I you know, I would do it.

[01:09:25] Yeah, tacos are totally on table for that.

[01:09:28] Yeah, she got a hunger for some more Hunger Games.

[01:09:32] The last one I saw was the one where her dress

[01:09:36] catches fire because she twirls.

[01:09:39] It wasn't a tap out.

[01:09:41] I really liked it.

[01:09:42] I just by the time I was interested.

[01:09:45] Okay, at my age Twilight that they was all the same

[01:09:48] until people that have credibility telling me like this

[01:09:51] is what you care about.

[01:09:52] This is you know.

[01:09:54] So I saw the I guess first two or three and then

[01:09:58] I guess it wasn't on Netflix yet but that's where I'm

[01:10:01] at the twirling in the fire is it catching fire?

[01:10:04] Oh yeah.

[01:10:05] Yeah, catching fire.

[01:10:06] I think that was the second movie.

[01:10:08] So yeah, yeah, catch a very interesting.

[01:10:10] I catch.

[01:10:13] I don't know it was just it was really good.

[01:10:15] It's just I don't even say it.

[01:10:17] Yeah, I know it was just really good.

[01:10:18] I don't even know how it ends yet or so.

[01:10:20] Well, this would be like a prequel.

[01:10:22] So you wouldn't even need to know how it like completely

[01:10:25] in.

[01:10:25] Oh, okay.

[01:10:26] Yeah.

[01:10:26] So my guess is everything is getting shut down with her.

[01:10:29] Her story.

[01:10:30] Never mind.

[01:10:30] Don't throw it in for me.

[01:10:31] Don't spoil.

[01:10:31] I mean, but first they completed her story.

[01:10:34] Yeah, okay.

[01:10:35] The books completed her story and then they did and

[01:10:37] then Susan Collins decided to do a couple of

[01:10:39] prequel stories that were about different tributes.

[01:10:43] So all right.

[01:10:43] So if it is a prequel, how do you guys feel about that?

[01:10:46] Is it a hey, we saved the world?

[01:10:50] No, we didn't situation like Star Wars like, you know,

[01:10:52] four through six, like, Hey, we did it and then kind of

[01:10:54] not really it's I think it's more just because of the

[01:10:58] way that the universe is is that when the at the end

[01:11:03] of her story is a huge change for the whole universe.

[01:11:09] And so they did prequels to kind of show how different her

[01:11:15] Hunger Games were versus that and like how kind of how

[01:11:19] they learned from each hunger game.

[01:11:21] Oh, okay.

[01:11:21] So this is kind of just getting more into the lore of

[01:11:25] the Hunger Games itself.

[01:11:26] Right.

[01:11:27] And I like Woody Harrelson's character.

[01:11:29] I did too.

[01:11:29] Go ahead.

[01:11:30] He's easily watching the character in that movie.

[01:11:31] If Woody Harrelson's in it, then it doesn't seem like

[01:11:34] this has been going on for very long.

[01:11:36] Well, it's a younger some.

[01:11:37] So this guy, this guy, what's his name?

[01:11:39] Yeah.

[01:11:39] Well, it's not Woody Harrelson's character.

[01:11:41] Yeah.

[01:11:42] Mike Fais is playing the younger version of Woody Harrelson.

[01:11:47] It's supposed to be like in his like 40s, like late 40s

[01:11:49] by this point.

[01:11:51] Amazing.

[01:11:51] Was it did I hear wrong or I might be wrong, but wasn't

[01:11:54] he in Hunger Games?

[01:11:56] Like that's why he was up.

[01:11:57] He's now a part of whatever.

[01:11:59] Yeah.

[01:12:00] Yeah.

[01:12:00] Yeah.

[01:12:00] Okay.

[01:12:00] This is supposed to be the story of like how he won.

[01:12:03] I'm at least I'm assuming that this is how

[01:12:06] he won the Hunger Games and became the big star that he becomes.

[01:12:11] Gotcha.

[01:12:11] There you go.

[01:12:12] Okay.

[01:12:12] No, that's interesting.

[01:12:13] At least it's a good story.

[01:12:14] It's not a again.

[01:12:15] It's what it's always weird like it's a trilogy and then

[01:12:17] people want to make money.

[01:12:18] So then they do a they didn't really succeed.

[01:12:21] You know what I mean?

[01:12:22] Like this is this particular.

[01:12:25] I was gonna say genre, but that's the wrong word.

[01:12:27] This particular series is very different in that the

[01:12:31] the writer while she's writing the stories,

[01:12:35] she'll send the manuscript over to the studio and the studio

[01:12:39] was already developing the movie before the book even comes out.

[01:12:42] Yeah.

[01:12:43] You know, so like she's actually writing the books.

[01:12:46] She's gotten script credits on all of them.

[01:12:48] So like she's been really involved in so which is different

[01:12:51] than yeah.

[01:12:52] So like a ballad of songbirds and snakes,

[01:12:54] the new one that came out.

[01:12:56] That movie came out like weeks from from when the book

[01:13:00] came out.

[01:13:00] Yeah, it was crazy.

[01:13:01] I expect this movie will be out before.

[01:13:04] Yeah.

[01:13:06] Yeah.

[01:13:06] At the point where they're at.

[01:13:07] Yeah, because if that book would have got delayed,

[01:13:08] that movie would have been out before the book came out.

[01:13:11] Right.

[01:13:11] Yeah.

[01:13:12] Right.

[01:13:12] So I mean, I assume the same thing is going to happen

[01:13:15] with this is this book is probably going to come out

[01:13:18] right around the same time as the movie.

[01:13:19] Gotcha.

[01:13:20] Which is kind of a cool marketing thing.

[01:13:22] But I mean also if people don't like the book

[01:13:24] then they're probably not going to like the movie.

[01:13:25] So and if they see the movie, why would they and

[01:13:29] they're like, oh well now I know the story.

[01:13:30] I don't need to read the book.

[01:13:31] Yeah.

[01:13:32] There's probably so much more details in the book anyway.

[01:13:34] Yeah.

[01:13:35] I mean, you usually get like inter monologue and stuff

[01:13:37] like that with when you when you read the book.

[01:13:38] James needs to go to the bathroom.

[01:13:40] Is it was a three fingers or two fingers?

[01:13:43] She did.

[01:13:43] It's two.

[01:13:44] I don't know.

[01:13:45] It depends.

[01:13:45] Did you buy me lobster or was it steak?

[01:13:51] You get the four finger discount.

[01:13:53] No shit.

[01:13:55] I know that.

[01:13:55] No young Phil.

[01:13:56] What's the next story?

[01:13:58] Let's go ahead and move on.

[01:13:59] Yeah.

[01:14:01] Jesus looks like the galaxy is getting far farther away.

[01:14:06] Disney may be scaling back on Lucasfilm's annual output

[01:14:09] of Star Wars live action TV series over the next couple

[01:14:12] of years.

[01:14:12] According to the rumor, Lucasfilm is planning to slow down

[01:14:16] the pace.

[01:14:17] The days of two or more Star Wars live action series a

[01:14:20] year may soon be over with the company possibly shifting

[01:14:23] to one show per year schedule starting in 2025.

[01:14:27] So tacos on the table is less Star Wars, a better Star

[01:14:31] Wars.

[01:14:32] Hmm.

[01:14:33] Interesting young fella.

[01:14:34] Let's start with you.

[01:14:35] What do you think I'm talking to see?

[01:14:36] Here's the thing.

[01:14:37] The only reason they're doing this is because Iger doesn't

[01:14:40] feel like they're making their they're not growing Disney

[01:14:43] Plus in a way where it's profitable for them.

[01:14:46] So how do you make money on this?

[01:14:48] You make movies because then now it's in a theater

[01:14:52] where people have to go out and pay money to go watch

[01:14:54] the movie.

[01:14:55] That's the only reason he doesn't want to do more TV series

[01:14:58] because a lot of times if you don't get involved too much

[01:15:02] you get better long form storytelling.

[01:15:04] Yeah.

[01:15:05] You know when you do TV series but they don't want to do

[01:15:08] that because it's not making them enough money.

[01:15:10] Right.

[01:15:11] You know when you're spending movie budgets on every

[01:15:14] episode of a TV show so then you have movie quality TV

[01:15:17] shows, you know you're losing a crap ton of money

[01:15:20] and that's all they care about.

[01:15:22] It's all Iger cares about at least.

[01:15:24] So like you know that's that's something where I understand

[01:15:28] what they're doing but we're going to we're going to lose

[01:15:30] a lot of that long from long form storytelling because

[01:15:33] they want more money.

[01:15:35] I think Acolyte really changed the game and not for the

[01:15:38] better from Disney's point of view.

[01:15:40] I think Acolyte was just the final straw.

[01:15:43] I think they were already thinking about slowing down.

[01:15:47] They were already yeah they were already talking about

[01:15:49] that Acolyte's a whole different monster just

[01:15:51] because when Filoni and and Favreau are involved like you

[01:15:56] know the Mandalorian movie is coming up they tend to do

[01:16:00] really well.

[01:16:01] So it's not so much that they care at all about oh well

[01:16:07] you know the Acolyte was is what's causing this they may

[01:16:11] use that as an excuse but they've been wanting to do

[01:16:14] this for a while since Iger came back.

[01:16:16] This has been the plan.

[01:16:18] Ash did you see Acolyte?

[01:16:20] Did you finish it?

[01:16:20] I did.

[01:16:21] Was it really that?

[01:16:22] I mean okay it wasn't my favorite.

[01:16:24] What was it that bad?

[01:16:26] Like I don't know like there's almost like the Laker Parade

[01:16:29] for it being canceled and I was kind of like it wasn't

[01:16:31] I'd cancel the Laker Parade.

[01:16:33] I mean I wasn't a fan of it but it was like alright

[01:16:36] onto the next thing.

[01:16:38] Yeah yeah exactly.

[01:16:39] It wasn't it wasn't the worst thing that has ever

[01:16:42] been created in the history of mankind.

[01:16:45] Honestly Solo was worse and Solo wasn't even that bad.

[01:16:47] Yeah Solo.

[01:16:49] Oh my gosh yeah yeah.

[01:16:51] I mean okay so Andor I know they're doing a season 2

[01:16:55] and I saw one episode it just wasn't my thing but at the

[01:16:58] same time I appreciated a different angle of it

[01:17:00] and that's what I thought this was going to be like.

[01:17:03] It kind of all doesn't count and then I don't know

[01:17:05] it's just weird because we're judging it by Star Wars

[01:17:08] and Star Wars was awesome but let's not forget like

[01:17:11] Luke had some really horrible lines.

[01:17:14] Yes he did.

[01:17:14] Oh yeah.

[01:17:15] You know what I mean?

[01:17:16] And there were worse ones that were cut from the movie.

[01:17:17] It wasn't perfection.

[01:17:19] I love Star Wars.

[01:17:20] Yeah.

[01:17:21] Do not get me wrong.

[01:17:22] I also saw Star Wars when I was a kid.

[01:17:24] Yeah yeah and now it's like you know we were all

[01:17:26] Stallone fans and like when you see the movie again

[01:17:29] it's kind of like okay other than Rocky.

[01:17:31] Anyway I'm losing my point but I kind of feel like

[01:17:34] I'm okay that it ended because it kind of told

[01:17:37] the story of how she became Sith and we're good.

[01:17:40] It didn't end on a cliffhanger per se so it

[01:17:43] was like all right cool.

[01:17:44] Like it wasn't like Saul getting fucking stabbed with a

[01:17:46] lightsaber and then nobody knows if he's going to survive.

[01:17:49] You know what I mean?

[01:17:49] Yeah.

[01:17:49] It kind of just ended at a good like all right well

[01:17:52] they told the story we're good.

[01:17:54] We just kind of how I feel like we should do everything

[01:17:56] tell the full story and then you have the option

[01:17:59] of continuing something but if you don't know if

[01:18:01] you're coming back.

[01:18:02] Yeah don't cliffhanger everything.

[01:18:03] Tell the story.

[01:18:04] Yeah if you're sight number three seasons please 24

[01:18:07] it you know what I mean but I'm saying so far as

[01:18:09] as that.

[01:18:10] Frey what do you think about Star Wars?

[01:18:11] You think less?

[01:18:12] Less is more?

[01:18:13] Well my tacos are on the table because so I feel

[01:18:17] like the reason everybody I think the underlying

[01:18:20] reason all the like hardcore Star Wars fans have

[01:18:23] gotten really like they're they get really upset

[01:18:27] real easy and they kind of have a hair trigger

[01:18:29] is because we didn't get any Star Wars for like 30

[01:18:34] years.

[01:18:35] Yeah.

[01:18:36] And then we got more and then we didn't get

[01:18:38] it anymore for like another like 20 years.

[01:18:41] So Star Wars fans are feast and famine fans and right

[01:18:46] now they feel like they should be in a famine state

[01:18:49] and they're getting a feast and it's too much for

[01:18:52] them and they become fat and bloated and so that's

[01:18:57] why having maybe one a year that would still kind

[01:19:01] of give them that that that good meal that they

[01:19:04] don't gain too much weight in you know I mean

[01:19:07] it's I'm just saying that that might be better for

[01:19:10] that.

[01:19:10] I mean I guess I honestly would would prefer more at

[01:19:13] different angles like I would prefer you know maybe

[01:19:18] a Mandalorian and then something else in the

[01:19:20] universe to get different pieces of the appetite.

[01:19:24] Yeah, I could see that you know but Ash you had

[01:19:27] you needed to go to the bathroom what's up?

[01:19:29] Although to even don't say I'm going back to the

[01:19:33] acolyte do you guys remember everybody hated

[01:19:34] the fucking original excuse me not the original

[01:19:36] trilogy one through three.

[01:19:38] Yeah and now all of a sudden Kenobi came back and

[01:19:41] Hayden came back and all of a sudden like we all

[01:19:43] forgot we hated it.

[01:19:44] Yeah, you know what I mean now it's like it's part

[01:19:46] of the lore maybe the acolyte and then in five

[01:19:49] years do the acolyte again but like knowing what

[01:19:51] where you messed up.

[01:19:53] Yeah, it's kind of like it grows fonder as time

[01:19:56] goes further away.

[01:19:58] Yep like sad you know what I mean like I don't

[01:20:00] remember hating it but I didn't I don't you

[01:20:02] know what I mean it was a it was Star Wars.

[01:20:04] Sadly suffered from the same problem the acolyte

[01:20:08] suffered from the same problem the trilogy suffered

[01:20:10] from the prequel trilogy.

[01:20:12] The pacing was not all that great and the storytelling

[01:20:15] beats were not where they needed to be and you

[01:20:20] know it's funny is all of a sudden everybody

[01:20:22] loves the prequel trilogy like it wasn't something

[01:20:25] that people hated on for the longest time.

[01:20:27] No why is because now they can hate on the sequel

[01:20:29] trilogy and they can say oh well the prequel

[01:20:31] trilogy wasn't that bad.

[01:20:32] It's also because Dave Filoni masterfully made it

[01:20:37] so that people forgot the parts that they hated

[01:20:39] about the prequel trilogy.

[01:20:40] Yeah, yeah the clone the animated clone wars

[01:20:43] movies and then TV series and then rebels that

[01:20:48] like really I think helped you know bridge that

[01:20:51] gap between the the prequels and then the original

[01:20:55] so yeah you know what's interesting.

[01:20:57] I just looked it up you know the last Star

[01:21:00] War so in the original trilogy Jedi return to Jedi

[01:21:04] came out in 1984 Phantom Menace came out in in 1999

[01:21:09] it was only 15 years later but it does seem like

[01:21:13] 30 years like I said it feels like like an entire

[01:21:16] lifetime in between the two right well because like

[01:21:19] we were kids when the first and you know or some

[01:21:22] of us I don't think all of this work but some

[01:21:23] of us were kids when they first and then you

[01:21:26] know by that time you've lived a whole life

[01:21:28] and so you're not in the same place you were so I

[01:21:31] totally get it and then to have like like sequels

[01:21:34] like the last three and you're like well I'm really

[01:21:37] not even in a place that I was in the last two.

[01:21:41] I can't feel this anymore I'm sorry.

[01:21:45] You know how some people's Batman is like Bel Kilmer

[01:21:48] or George Clooney because as kids that's who

[01:21:51] their Batman was yeah maybe it's that like people

[01:21:55] probably look at the OG Star Wars are like oh

[01:21:57] that's cool and look at the shiny pod racers and

[01:22:01] the this and that like that's probably their Star Wars.

[01:22:04] Yeah yeah you know what I mean that it's as weird

[01:22:07] as that is because it's based on this like here's

[01:22:10] something better and we shined it up but it doesn't

[01:22:12] have the heart it doesn't have the story it

[01:22:15] doesn't have you know I don't know you does

[01:22:17] that make sense.

[01:22:17] Yeah absolutely.

[01:22:19] Let's move on here guys because we are kind of

[01:22:22] behind in brightest day in blackest night

[01:22:26] everything's gonna be all right all right all right.

[01:22:30] Okay that's not that's not badly written that's pretty

[01:22:32] we recently reported Josh Brolin was off of the role

[01:22:36] of Hal Jordan in the DC studios Lanterns series for

[01:22:41] Max but actually I just saw today that he may be

[01:22:46] he may have declined the role right but so the next

[01:22:50] potential actors are looking for for Hal Jordan are

[01:22:54] going to be Matthew McConaughey or Obi-Wan Kenobi

[01:22:58] Ewan McGregor as Hal Jordan so tacos on the table who

[01:23:03] do you see playing Hal Jordan in the DCU I think

[01:23:07] Frey go okay you're not free free.

[01:23:12] Here's how I'm gonna rank up all right so the who

[01:23:16] I want for a second or okay or who I think would

[01:23:19] do the best job first Matthew McConaughey then

[01:23:22] Josh Brolin and then you're McGregor because you and

[01:23:25] McGregor can play like slimy but he can't play that I'm cocky

[01:23:33] but I can also be like humble like humble Brad guy he's

[01:23:37] not that he can either be slimy or he can be righteous.

[01:23:40] I mean that's really kind of how you're in the

[01:23:42] progress so that's yeah I got you okay young Phil.

[01:23:46] I was gonna say what I feel is happening here specifically

[01:23:53] I think Josh Brolin has something else that he's working

[01:23:55] on right now and he's passing on it because he because

[01:23:59] it's like there's a scheduling conflict now of all the

[01:24:01] people on here Matthew McConaughey I think fits the

[01:24:04] best because he can be braggadocious he can be cocky

[01:24:08] he can be he can be very misogynistic as far as the

[01:24:12] way that he can portray a character.

[01:24:17] Yeah, even though you know like if you if you see how he

[01:24:20] is in real life he definitely is not but I mean he can

[01:24:22] play the character very well so I think isn't Matthew

[01:24:25] McConaughey tall too he is which tall and lanky right

[01:24:29] yeah which is kind of what you want for how Jordan

[01:24:32] so I think if anybody were to play how Jordan I think

[01:24:35] Matthew McConaughey is probably the best pick.

[01:24:38] Alright, alright, alright. Yes.

[01:24:41] Ash who do you see any of these three actors playing how

[01:24:45] Jordan would you pick somebody else?

[01:24:47] Don't you guys feel like studios are just picking the same

[01:24:51] motherfucker sorry can I cut you guys do it.

[01:24:54] The same motherfuckers like it's it's rinse repeat like

[01:24:58] hey you were in a Marvel movie do a DC movie and I'm not

[01:25:02] gonna do any better because I honestly think they're

[01:25:04] never gonna give him Batman or Nightwing so why not

[01:25:07] the guy that played soju boy.

[01:25:09] Jensen actually Jensen was a good pick too.

[01:25:13] Actually he would be like Dean Winchester is very similar.

[01:25:19] Yeah, he would be a really good how Jordan actually.

[01:25:22] Yeah, I think it's a little short though.

[01:25:24] Who's Dean?

[01:25:25] When are you a little short for Green Lantern?

[01:25:27] Who's Jensen Winchester from Supernatural?

[01:25:31] Thank you.

[01:25:31] Well if you keep them in the air the whole time you're

[01:25:34] not really you don't even need the Apple box.

[01:25:36] Yeah, that's true.

[01:25:38] I'm floating.

[01:25:38] How about a jeans boots with the fur stroke the furry.

[01:25:43] Yeah, I mean I actually like that Jensen Eccles one better.

[01:25:50] How tall how tall is Jensen Eccles compared to Nathan?

[01:25:54] 6 1 Jensen Eccles is 6 1 and would you say the rest?

[01:25:57] Nathan Fillian.

[01:25:58] Oh, because Nathan Fillian is playing Guy Gardner so like

[01:26:02] you if you like by comparison how tall of it.

[01:26:05] Totally.

[01:26:06] You know what would be cool though?

[01:26:07] If Nathan Fillian played the when he has the white on the

[01:26:11] sights.

[01:26:11] Have you seen the picture of Nathan Fillian as Guy Gardner?

[01:26:14] He's got a bull.

[01:26:16] He's got a bull.

[01:26:18] It's amazing.

[01:26:18] I'm saying if he did how Jordan if we have to be the

[01:26:21] one where he has the white on the sides.

[01:26:23] Yeah, yeah, yeah, because this is definitely supposed to

[01:26:24] be an older how Jordan that's why I was saying like

[01:26:26] I would like this thing we're talking about last week.

[01:26:29] I would like this to be like pre parallax but like

[01:26:32] right before he becomes parallax.

[01:26:34] Because then you have an excuse to do I on when you

[01:26:37] introduced guy got a car.

[01:26:39] Rainer.

[01:26:40] So, okay.

[01:26:41] So the reason that I think that Jensen Eccles is so short

[01:26:45] is because Jared Paddlecchi is 6 4.

[01:26:48] Yeah, Jared Paddlecchi is the big dude.

[01:26:50] He's like abnormally like he should have been a bastard.

[01:26:53] Well, it's funny because Nathan Fillian 6 2 Jensen Eccles

[01:26:57] is 6 1 so they would be pretty comparable even though

[01:27:01] technically guy Gardner should be a lot taller than then

[01:27:04] how Jordan but actually not.

[01:27:06] He's not that much taller.

[01:27:07] He's supposed to be like more stocky and wider.

[01:27:10] Yeah, like because in the and I don't know if this was a

[01:27:13] retcon from it because I should look into the original

[01:27:16] like how Jordan origin but anyway totally off topic.

[01:27:20] Focus focus focus.

[01:27:21] All right.

[01:27:22] Actually how should be somewhat short because he was

[01:27:24] a pilot?

[01:27:25] Well, yeah, but he it was like but it doesn't look as

[01:27:28] cool.

[01:27:28] Yeah, yeah, guy Gardner supposed to be a little bit taller

[01:27:31] but bro guy Gardner was also pilot was guy a pilot.

[01:27:34] I thought it was just a cop.

[01:27:35] He was a oh no you were you're right.

[01:27:37] He was a cop.

[01:27:38] I'm thinking of somebody else.

[01:27:39] Yeah, yeah, he was a cop as soon as I said it.

[01:27:42] I was like wait no guy Gardner was a cop.

[01:27:44] Yeah, I'm sorry.

[01:27:45] If the story is amazing but somebody's supposed to be

[01:27:48] taller does that take you out of it?

[01:27:50] No, it's more I kind of just want comic book accurate

[01:27:55] versions of the character.

[01:27:56] It's kind of kind of why I've been saying I'm forgetting

[01:27:59] his name but the dude who was in a Reacher.

[01:28:03] Oh, Alan Rickston.

[01:28:04] I want to see Alan Rickston as Batman because the dude

[01:28:06] fits Batman's profile.

[01:28:08] Oh yeah, yeah.

[01:28:09] Batman is supposed to be 64 280 pounds like I want to

[01:28:12] see a dude who is 64 280 pounds play Batman.

[01:28:16] Are you saying Tom Cruise couldn't play Batman?

[01:28:19] No, he could play Wolverine.

[01:28:21] He could play Wolverine.

[01:28:22] He's only an inch taller than Wolverine.

[01:28:28] Like Tom Cruise in real life is only an inch taller than

[01:28:31] Wolverine is in the comics.

[01:28:33] That's funny.

[01:28:34] The person you said has the build.

[01:28:36] Yeah, but I don't think and this is a nobody saying this.

[01:28:40] I don't know if he could pull off the vulnerability of it

[01:28:43] might be losing my parents has affected me all the way.

[01:28:48] You know what I mean?

[01:28:48] Like I think he could just based on the way he played

[01:28:50] Reacher and the way that he played Hawk and Hawk was good

[01:28:54] but he was a jealous bitch.

[01:28:55] He was but the thing is that he's able to he has enough range

[01:28:59] where you can play the emotions.

[01:29:01] You know, it's kind of like I want to see a dude who can

[01:29:04] play hands up anger and I take it out on villains at night

[01:29:07] while I'm dressed in the back.

[01:29:08] You know, like I think that he would be the I think

[01:29:12] Alan Rickson is the perfect person to play Batman based

[01:29:15] on his build and based on his acting ability.

[01:29:17] Anyway, we're on a we're on a tangent.

[01:29:19] We need to get back on.

[01:29:21] I'm inviting you know what's gonna happen.

[01:29:23] Let me just say this.

[01:29:25] I'm just gonna say this one thing about our extent.

[01:29:27] We'll totally get back to it.

[01:29:29] Yeah, I I'm coming around to Alan being Batman because I think

[01:29:34] he would be a good Batman but you know that there I do have

[01:29:38] that one actor from Masters of the air that I swear would

[01:29:42] be the perfect Batman.

[01:29:44] He looks just like any does look like Bruce Wayne.

[01:29:47] I know you're talking about.

[01:29:48] I don't know you're talking about but hey, I'm going

[01:29:50] to bounce Ash been awesome.

[01:29:52] Good seeing you.

[01:29:53] Pray.

[01:29:54] You're amazing young Phil.

[01:29:56] Suck eggs.

[01:29:57] I love you brother.

[01:29:58] Have a good night man.

[01:30:00] All right, we'll see you also by the way shout out to your

[01:30:03] wife in that was in the Instagram chat.

[01:30:06] I know Jenny is the first time ever.

[01:30:10] I know.

[01:30:12] I'll get you later man.

[01:30:13] So moving on to the next story here just because I am

[01:30:17] somewhat excited to hear about this hardcore is how I like

[01:30:21] my Superman.

[01:30:21] The latest rumor is the tone of the new Superman film will

[01:30:25] be a complete shift to hardcore sci-fi and fantasy.

[01:30:29] The exact opposite of Man of Steel set in a world very

[01:30:32] different from ours and far removed from the DCEU heroes

[01:30:36] have been around for ages and we'll see how it affected

[01:30:39] this world's history and has shaped the DCU gun and

[01:30:43] the other filmmakers will explore and play in a

[01:30:46] world where heroes have been around for ages.

[01:30:49] So tacos on the table.

[01:30:51] Is this the is this the DCU you expected or is this a

[01:30:54] crisis?

[01:30:55] That's what I expected.

[01:30:56] Tacos around the table for I expected it to be like this.

[01:31:00] Yeah, I kind of did too mainly because I know James Gunn

[01:31:04] is a massive nerd and he's really big about making

[01:31:07] things comic book accurate.

[01:31:09] So I do like the idea of him doing something that is

[01:31:14] more sci-fi but kind of in the world of all that.

[01:31:17] I wouldn't be mad at Jonathan Majors getting a second

[01:31:20] shot as John Stuart.

[01:31:22] Yeah, I wouldn't mind either.

[01:31:23] Although the so so rude so rude Deosu who was in slow

[01:31:29] forces and also was the lead in Mr.

[01:31:32] Maltham's list would also be very good.

[01:31:35] John Stuart.

[01:31:35] Have you cast John Stuart already?

[01:31:36] Yeah, I think they have but he would be amazing as it

[01:31:39] or as King.

[01:31:40] Yeah.

[01:31:41] We'll think about like another character Jonathan Majors

[01:31:44] can play like over the course of all this.

[01:31:47] He would be really good as Black Manta if they recast Black

[01:31:49] Manta.

[01:31:50] Well, he's there.

[01:31:51] They're not.

[01:31:52] Oh, that's right.

[01:31:53] Read it.

[01:31:53] They're redoing it because Momoa is going to be low.

[01:31:56] He's gonna be Lobo now.

[01:31:57] Right.

[01:31:58] Actually, yeah, that would be a good Black Manta.

[01:32:00] He would be really good at the Gravitas for Black

[01:32:02] Manta.

[01:32:03] Yeah, the only thing if there's anything else because

[01:32:05] they've already got Mr.

[01:32:06] Terrific.

[01:32:07] So have him play Red Tornado.

[01:32:10] Red tornado could actually be fun with Jonathan Majors.

[01:32:13] Yeah.

[01:32:13] Yeah.

[01:32:13] Oh man, Red Tornado is getting.

[01:32:15] Right.

[01:32:16] Ash, what do you think of this, man?

[01:32:19] It looks like he's getting dressed for bed because it looks

[01:32:21] like a big onesie.

[01:32:24] And it has the underwear too.

[01:32:26] It's I don't know, man.

[01:32:28] And and Esteban showed me like well it's based on this

[01:32:31] comic book so it's accurate but

[01:32:34] the red under.

[01:32:35] It looks like padding.

[01:32:36] It looks like Roman Reigns when he used to wear his

[01:32:38] vest like it's all just like padding.

[01:32:40] But apparently that is apparently that is.

[01:32:42] My fucking muscles.

[01:32:43] But like apparently that is the like corn sweat actually

[01:32:45] is like kind of built like that.

[01:32:47] I understand that.

[01:32:48] I'm just saying what I'm looking at it since the day

[01:32:51] I saw that picture it was more interesting when it was

[01:32:53] like Godzilla in the background.

[01:32:55] It wasn't even about the picture.

[01:32:56] It was like what they photoshopped in the background.

[01:32:58] Yeah, that made me awesome.

[01:33:00] I think in the modern era with the way that Superman's

[01:33:05] costume has been for the last like I don't know what

[01:33:08] there are 25 years.

[01:33:10] It's not 30 years like the last 25 years.

[01:33:12] At least since new 52 when they kind of got rid of the

[01:33:16] underroofs I like that look and now they're going back

[01:33:21] to the underroofs and it kind of throws me off a little

[01:33:23] bit but I mean I mean it's not like I can't use it again.

[01:33:25] Everybody's shadow on it because a cavo because it was

[01:33:28] so dark and then now you have an even darker suit.

[01:33:32] Yeah, I mean I'm excited for it either way.

[01:33:35] I feel like we need to see it.

[01:33:37] They're gonna get my money and I hope I feel like

[01:33:40] it's hard to put your trust in your I'm going to invest

[01:33:44] because if it doesn't make the money a studio wants

[01:33:47] they're just gonna drop it.

[01:33:48] Yeah, I hear you on that.

[01:33:49] You know what I mean?

[01:33:50] Yeah.

[01:33:50] It's hard for like I accepted Ben Affleck as Batman.

[01:33:54] I loved Cavill as Superman fucking Gal Gadot.

[01:33:56] Yes, please.

[01:33:57] Yes.

[01:33:58] And it like they even gave us a little bit of it still

[01:34:01] might happen because she showed up in with the funeral

[01:34:04] thing.

[01:34:05] I forgot what it was.

[01:34:07] What was it?

[01:34:08] Well, she was in Flash and then was she in Blue Beetle?

[01:34:12] There was a funeral memory and she showed up for it and then

[01:34:15] like I think she was.

[01:34:16] I think that wasn't Blue Beetle.

[01:34:17] Okay.

[01:34:18] Okay.

[01:34:18] Which is not what I'm saying.

[01:34:19] Like I think that was Blue Beetle's yeah.

[01:34:21] Yeah.

[01:34:21] Yeah.

[01:34:21] But anyway, so now it makes me feel like Blue Beetle's

[01:34:24] not going to count because they're going to get another

[01:34:25] Wonder Woman.

[01:34:26] Well, no, they said Blue Beetle's is technically the

[01:34:29] first movie that's canon within this new DCU.

[01:34:32] So yeah.

[01:34:32] Oh shit.

[01:34:33] Yeah, I didn't I represent general public like I don't you

[01:34:37] know what I mean?

[01:34:37] Like oh shit.

[01:34:38] You know what I mean?

[01:34:39] Like I don't do the extra little you show me a you show me

[01:34:42] a comment book dot com thing.

[01:34:45] I will look at that and look at everything whatever but I

[01:34:48] won't click it and like read because it doesn't ever

[01:34:51] start with the story you want to click.

[01:34:53] It'll be like Anna Paklin was born in like I don't need

[01:34:55] to know all this like where's the why I clicked.

[01:34:59] Right.

[01:34:59] You know what I'm saying?

[01:35:00] No, I feel you somebody will tell me.

[01:35:05] So let's let's move on to the next story here.

[01:35:08] So from hunted.

[01:35:11] Oh shit.

[01:35:12] God Wolverine origins.

[01:35:15] I'm sorry.

[01:35:16] I'm just throwing it out there.

[01:35:17] I I Ponglin Clemente is hot.

[01:35:19] Yeah, that's Wolverine origins right?

[01:35:23] No, no, that's that's Mantis and Guardians of the

[01:35:28] Guardians.

[01:35:29] Oh shit.

[01:35:30] Okay.

[01:35:30] Yeah, you're thinking of Kelly who you're thinking

[01:35:32] of Kelly who yeah.

[01:35:33] Yeah, yeah.

[01:35:34] Who who she played in that picture.

[01:35:37] She does look a lot like no no origins.

[01:35:40] Yeah, that's Kelly.

[01:35:41] Okay.

[01:35:42] She wasn't Lady Death Strike.

[01:35:43] No, no, she wasn't.

[01:35:45] No, she's Ponglin and Tee.

[01:35:46] So Kelly who played Lady Death Strike in X-Men origins.

[01:35:50] Yeah, Ponglin and Tee played Mantis and Guardians of the

[01:35:55] Galaxy.

[01:35:55] Okay.

[01:35:56] My bad.

[01:35:57] No, you're fine.

[01:35:57] Well, she's in talks to join interest.

[01:36:01] James Gunn's DCU as a specific character.

[01:36:05] Well, like we like we actually did report that a couple

[01:36:07] months ago.

[01:36:08] Yeah, but now it's being talked about that she's actually

[01:36:11] going to in talks to play Helena Burton Nele,

[01:36:13] aka the Huntress not really really like her to be Helena

[01:36:18] Wayne, but that's a whole nother thing.

[01:36:20] Although it's noted that other roles have also been

[01:36:23] discussed with her.

[01:36:25] So yeah, I mean, I kind of would prefer Burton Nele

[01:36:28] over over Helena Wayne just because it's the Helena

[01:36:31] Wayne storyline is so obscure at this point.

[01:36:33] How dare you?

[01:36:34] It is though.

[01:36:35] I mean, technically, yes, she is the original version of

[01:36:38] Huntress is Bruce Wayne's daughter.

[01:36:40] But I mean like that got retconned.

[01:36:42] It became Burton Nele.

[01:36:43] She's a mob boss's daughter and I've always liked.

[01:36:46] Yeah, that's what I was going to say.

[01:36:47] Do you think they've changed it to Yakuza or something?

[01:36:49] No, I think because she's she's half.

[01:36:52] So I mean like, you know, she's yeah, I think French

[01:36:55] Asian.

[01:36:56] Yeah, she's she's half French.

[01:36:58] Have a very beautiful.

[01:36:59] She is.

[01:36:59] She's fucking gorgeous.

[01:37:00] But I mean like I don't like I think that they could they

[01:37:04] could pull it off and have her play a an Italian mob

[01:37:08] mob boss's daughter.

[01:37:10] Just you know, he married an Asian woman.

[01:37:12] There you go.

[01:37:12] Yeah.

[01:37:12] Yeah.

[01:37:13] Here's my here's who I think she should be Lady Sheba.

[01:37:16] Oh, Lady Sheba would be good too though.

[01:37:18] I think she would be a better Lady Sheba than Huntress.

[01:37:21] Yeah, I do.

[01:37:22] I just honestly, I think that that would be better.

[01:37:25] I think and I would love to see her as Lady Sheba up

[01:37:29] against a Dyna.

[01:37:32] A smaller story, but isn't there a love story between them

[01:37:35] too as well?

[01:37:35] Lady Sheba and Black Canary.

[01:37:37] Oh no, I thought it was and Bruce know or am I thinking

[01:37:41] of a different I you know, I think she's a Lady Sheva's

[01:37:45] Cassandra Cain's mom and that was the assassin guy.

[01:37:49] I can't remember who was it.

[01:37:51] Her father was like a mercenary assassin.

[01:37:54] Okay, so could have sworn something something.

[01:37:56] Oh, are we talking about?

[01:37:58] Oh, what's his name?

[01:37:59] Sportsmaster.

[01:37:59] Yeah, Sportsmaster.

[01:38:01] But yeah, I think that's a Lady Sheva sister Cheshire.

[01:38:07] She so dope.

[01:38:08] She was she got down and dirty with speedy speedy

[01:38:13] and or he was art.

[01:38:15] Roy Harper was arsenal at that point.

[01:38:17] But I mean, you definitely want a love life with

[01:38:20] a guiding speedy.

[01:38:21] Yeah.

[01:38:21] Well, and he's a lot more badass when he becomes

[01:38:24] arsenal and he gets off the drugs.

[01:38:26] So oh, I know arsenal so dope.

[01:38:29] All I know is if we're bringing Asian characters into this

[01:38:32] Karen Fukuhara needs to come back and play Katana and get

[01:38:35] a second chance at Katana.

[01:38:36] She was like the only good part of that movie.

[01:38:40] She really was.

[01:38:41] No, I absolutely agree.

[01:38:42] So yeah, but I was just like looking and looking at that

[01:38:45] picture and I know they like put that picture because she

[01:38:47] had the dark care for Helena Bertonelli.

[01:38:49] But as soon as I saw that, I was like, she needs to

[01:38:51] play Lady Shiva.

[01:38:53] I don't care.

[01:38:54] She needs to play because that would be perfect for her.

[01:38:58] It's funny because like those characters specifically,

[01:39:01] if you're going with that like those versions of those

[01:39:04] characters, like all three of those sisters would lend

[01:39:08] themselves to being Asian and it would work.

[01:39:11] Yeah.

[01:39:11] Oh yeah.

[01:39:12] Definitely.

[01:39:12] Yeah.

[01:39:12] Same thing with again, if we're going to be recasting

[01:39:16] characters, I'm just throwing it out there.

[01:39:18] Dick Grayson needs to be half Chinese and he needs

[01:39:20] to be they need to do an Asian Dick Grayson because I

[01:39:24] think that would be dope.

[01:39:25] I think that would be amazing.

[01:39:27] Dick Grayson looks like Simu Lu.

[01:39:28] Yeah.

[01:39:28] Oh my God.

[01:39:29] Simu Lu would be dope, but I mean he's too big though.

[01:39:31] Like I think he's too wide.

[01:39:33] You need somebody super slender.

[01:39:35] But I like I would I've always said in the comics

[01:39:38] when you look at Dick Grayson when he becomes

[01:39:41] Nightwing, he looks like he could either be Native

[01:39:43] American or Asian.

[01:39:44] And that's Tony Daniels fault by the way.

[01:39:47] But yes, I say fault.

[01:39:49] He draw Nightwing.

[01:39:50] Yeah.

[01:39:50] I've always I've always loved that each Robin has a

[01:39:54] different fighting style.

[01:39:55] Yeah, because it's like your personality and what lends

[01:39:58] yourself to it.

[01:39:59] Like it's been I don't know.

[01:40:01] I don't everybody makes a Robin joke, but it's pretty

[01:40:03] cool that one's like more it's like wrestling.

[01:40:06] Yeah.

[01:40:06] There's a guy that's fucking brute.

[01:40:08] There's a guy that's flipy.

[01:40:09] Yeah.

[01:40:10] And they're yeah.

[01:40:11] Which by the way, did you guys both watch Cape Crusader?

[01:40:14] Yes.

[01:40:14] Oh my God.

[01:40:15] I love that.

[01:40:15] Oh my God.

[01:40:16] The Robin episode.

[01:40:17] Huh.

[01:40:17] The Robin episode.

[01:40:19] Oh, that was they name.

[01:40:20] To be fair, all of the orphans after different Robbins.

[01:40:23] I and I love that.

[01:40:25] Yeah.

[01:40:25] Yeah.

[01:40:25] I know it is that.

[01:40:27] Yeah.

[01:40:27] They call it what?

[01:40:28] Jace and that was supposed to be Jason Todd.

[01:40:30] Yeah.

[01:40:30] He was Dick Grayson.

[01:40:32] Stephanie Brown Stephanie who's the current Robin.

[01:40:35] They had Tim and Timmy was Tim Drake and Carrie Kelly.

[01:40:42] Carrie Kelly, right?

[01:40:43] Also gives credence to everybody has their chance to be

[01:40:45] Robin.

[01:40:46] I mean, I understandably Dick was Dick Dick Grayson

[01:40:49] for a fucking 20 years, but then we got this, this, this

[01:40:52] and this.

[01:40:52] Yeah.

[01:40:52] But if you do it like this, maybe you're only Robin for

[01:40:56] two years.

[01:40:56] Yeah.

[01:40:57] You can't handle it anymore and then.

[01:40:59] Well, they want I think they wanted to be a little bit more

[01:41:02] nori and more like detectivey.

[01:41:05] And so it could be that instead of having a Robin,

[01:41:08] there are his Robbins and they have done that before.

[01:41:13] Right now with the back over they've done that before

[01:41:15] now with the bat family because you have Dick Grayson

[01:41:18] as Nightwing and then you have Jason Todd as the Red Hood

[01:41:22] and then you have Tim Drake as Red Robin and then you have

[01:41:26] the current Robin being Damien Wayne.

[01:41:30] So I mean, it's yeah, there are there are ways to do it.

[01:41:33] It's just like, yeah, absolutely.

[01:41:35] But I dare Deidre, actually, yeah, he I told him I was

[01:41:40] like, Hey, I'm really like on threads or something.

[01:41:42] I was like, I really am enjoying your Harvey Dent in

[01:41:47] Batman.

[01:41:47] Yeah, came from theater and he was like it was a huge

[01:41:51] political post that he had done and everybody was really

[01:41:53] arguing about it.

[01:41:54] And I but I just was like, I'm just gonna say this and he

[01:41:57] took the time he was like, that's so nice.

[01:42:00] Thank you.

[01:42:01] Because I mean, I really liked his Batman.

[01:42:03] I think Deidre Bader's Batman was really good and it's

[01:42:06] cool.

[01:42:06] Like it's cool when you see people who played Batman

[01:42:09] at one point and they're playing other characters.

[01:42:11] Yeah, you know, um, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,

[01:42:14] because he played in the Brave in the Bull.

[01:42:15] He played, he played Batman.

[01:42:18] Yeah, he played Harvey Dent in this.

[01:42:19] Yeah, he plays Harvey Dent.

[01:42:20] Yeah, Kate Prasad.

[01:42:21] Anyways, we got to go back to the story here.

[01:42:24] So do we believe that she could play Helena

[01:42:29] Burnelli?

[01:42:30] Are we all in agreeance on this?

[01:42:31] Yeah, I think she could.

[01:42:32] With what you said, yes.

[01:42:33] Okay.

[01:42:34] So let's move on here.

[01:42:35] Sorry, I'm no real quick.

[01:42:37] Yeah.

[01:42:38] I was guilty of this right now when I because I like,

[01:42:41] oh, maybe she would be better as this whatever,

[01:42:43] but Ray should never stop you from doing anything.

[01:42:47] Absolutely.

[01:42:47] There's so many people.

[01:42:49] She's Mexican.

[01:42:50] Why she made Native American?

[01:42:52] It's, it's not disrespect.

[01:42:53] It's the actor is playing a person.

[01:42:56] It doesn't need to be that race.

[01:42:59] It's just you're playing a character.

[01:43:01] Unless it's unless it's on the, the, the verge of

[01:43:05] parody.

[01:43:06] So like if you are, you know, you're a white person

[01:43:08] playing a Mexican, but you're like making fun of

[01:43:10] Mexicans, that's probably not cool.

[01:43:12] But I mean, well, absolutely, absolutely.

[01:43:14] Or if you're playing T hawk in Street Fighter,

[01:43:18] you just don't do it.

[01:43:19] So what I just meant was like, it just shouldn't stop

[01:43:22] you because there's a way to explain away something.

[01:43:25] Right.

[01:43:25] If it's that, because when you said, oh, maybe he married

[01:43:29] an Asian woman, like, Oh, yeah, absolutely.

[01:43:31] Like all good.

[01:43:32] Like, so it was what I was guilty of, but I love

[01:43:35] La Bamba and that gets played by a Filipino person.

[01:43:38] And I do not care.

[01:43:40] That was my La Bamba.

[01:43:41] I do not care.

[01:43:43] It's the reason I picked up a guitar.

[01:43:44] I don't care.

[01:43:45] So like, it shouldn't just let you stop.

[01:43:47] Like it shouldn't nobody should hate it because of this

[01:43:49] because that other race might be hired before to play

[01:43:53] another race.

[01:43:54] You just never know.

[01:43:55] Right.

[01:43:55] So it just pigeonholes you to be like, no, we can't do

[01:43:58] it because she's not Native American, whatever character.

[01:44:00] It just, it sucks because then you have to pick

[01:44:03] the best of whoever audition.

[01:44:05] Right.

[01:44:06] You know what I mean?

[01:44:06] The other thing is also there are plenty of

[01:44:11] actors of a certain race that can get the role, but a lot

[01:44:15] of times they don't because it's like, well, they're not

[01:44:17] going to be relatable.

[01:44:18] Well, you know, if a certain character is pick pick

[01:44:21] there are actors looking for work that are good actors

[01:44:24] that don't get a chance.

[01:44:25] Give them the chance or exactly.

[01:44:27] I was going to say even to she's perfect, but it's

[01:44:30] catwoman and we needed to be, you know what I mean?

[01:44:33] Like we need her studios are not willing to fucking

[01:44:35] take a chance, which I fucking hate.

[01:44:37] And that's because you know what I mean?

[01:44:39] Like they, uh, like the argument is Zoe Kravitz.

[01:44:42] People were talking about, oh, they're going to make her

[01:44:44] black.

[01:44:44] Well, she was black in the comics.

[01:44:45] So I mean, like there was an earth.

[01:44:47] And they've already done that with Holly Berry.

[01:44:50] Like, but I'm saying like the kid played her in the

[01:44:52] 60s.

[01:44:52] So I mean, like, you know, like, like there's, there's

[01:44:55] plenty of versions of different characters and you can

[01:44:58] make a new version of a character.

[01:45:00] Yep.

[01:45:00] You know what I mean?

[01:45:01] Absolutely.

[01:45:01] As long as it makes sense for the thing of which

[01:45:04] I just cut you off like eight times on your own show.

[01:45:06] So sorry.

[01:45:07] What do you think of Oswalda?

[01:45:09] I loved her.

[01:45:10] Oh my God.

[01:45:11] I was right.

[01:45:12] Oswalda was a character that I did not know I need it because

[01:45:16] like she is so brutal, man.

[01:45:19] Like I and the thing is, is that you could not get that with

[01:45:22] the male version of that character mainly because she

[01:45:24] was willing to kill her own son in order to keep them quiet.

[01:45:28] Right.

[01:45:29] Like you could not get that with the male version of

[01:45:31] the penguin because the penguins didn't the male version

[01:45:33] of the penguins demeanor is different and she was so

[01:45:35] much more believable as a female character.

[01:45:38] Yeah, I like I liked all the way that they did all of the

[01:45:41] characters, like how they started with Harley Quinn and

[01:45:45] they, you know, I mean like Harley Quinn's version of Harley

[01:45:48] Quinn not being influenced by the Joker.

[01:45:50] I kind of like that.

[01:45:52] I like that she was just like a like she was like a criminal

[01:45:55] mastermind in the way she did things plus though the darkness

[01:45:58] of the way she did things made her so much more of a threat

[01:46:01] than than Arlene Sorkin's version of Harley.

[01:46:04] Well, it's all science.

[01:46:06] Like she's just that you know, no ethics, all science kind of

[01:46:10] thing and so I love that I was like, yes, yes.

[01:46:13] Yeah, I do think because of how she was created it needed

[01:46:17] the arc of the you know, a subservient to the turn to

[01:46:22] the I'm my own character to now the Joker is not like it

[01:46:25] needed that whole thing.

[01:46:27] Yeah, absolutely.

[01:46:28] This whole arc of characters is this where we can be able

[01:46:32] to do this like they because there's even talk of the way

[01:46:36] she starts with the gas maybe instead of a bunch of Harleys

[01:46:39] there's going to be a bunch of jokers.

[01:46:41] Yeah, well they they if you didn't get to the end there's

[01:46:46] a cameo from the Joker in the post credit scene at the end

[01:46:49] of the series.

[01:46:50] So I love that you know they told so many stories without

[01:46:55] having to rehash the Joker and then they just did a tease

[01:46:58] of the Joker at the end.

[01:47:00] That wasn't even like a full tease like you don't see him in

[01:47:02] his makeup.

[01:47:03] You don't see him and all this other stuff and I can't wait

[01:47:05] to see the take on the Joker that they do with this.

[01:47:08] Yeah, because it's going to be very different from from what

[01:47:11] everybody's used to.

[01:47:13] Last thing about that the thing I want to see is do you

[01:47:16] remember how she had targets?

[01:47:18] Yeah, all Joker wants to do is bring Batman out for another

[01:47:21] challenge for another this right.

[01:47:23] It would be cool if she's the one giving him the target

[01:47:26] because she wants this person taken out or she wants this

[01:47:29] corporation taking out like if the Joker's brainwash blow up

[01:47:32] whatever and he's like as long as Batman is going to be there

[01:47:35] I'm good.

[01:47:36] What would I would love is if you get a like the Joker is

[01:47:41] somebody who hardly brainwashed.

[01:47:43] You don't know his past or anything like that and he

[01:47:46] starts off as a brainwash dude but then has a psychotic

[01:47:49] break and becomes his own character like I would love

[01:47:52] if they reverse roll it and he becomes what hardly be what

[01:47:55] hardly started off as yeah, yeah, I think that that would be

[01:47:58] a good take on the Joker.

[01:48:00] She made him that and that's why she's so dedicated.

[01:48:02] That's fucking brilliant.

[01:48:03] Yeah, I'm glad I thought of it.

[01:48:05] Absolutely.

[01:48:07] I'm just on it out there.

[01:48:09] Tim, I know you listen to the show.

[01:48:11] Mr. Bruce Tim, I know you listen to the show.

[01:48:14] So please take that idea.

[01:48:16] Yeah.

[01:48:19] I know James in the chat saying we should skip some news.

[01:48:22] It's going to be a long night.

[01:48:24] So let's let's move on to the next story here, which again

[01:48:28] more news that I'm excited for swinging into some Spider-Man

[01:48:31] for news.

[01:48:32] Shang Chi director Destin Destin Daniel Cretan is in

[01:48:35] talks to helm Spider-Man for for Marvel Studios and Sony

[01:48:39] Pictures according to deadline.

[01:48:41] He is the top choice for the job to take over the

[01:48:43] franchise from director John Watts.

[01:48:45] Creighton also previously set to direct it was also previously

[01:48:49] set direct to direct Avengers the King Dynasty.

[01:48:51] He is currently working on Marvel's Wonder Man series.

[01:48:55] So talk was on the table.

[01:48:56] Does Destin Daniel Cretan get your spidey for senses

[01:48:59] tingling?

[01:49:00] Yes, I would love it on the table.

[01:49:01] I would love it because I think that he does action.

[01:49:04] Well, I think he does dialogue well.

[01:49:05] I think that he can do really good dynamic between

[01:49:08] characters.

[01:49:09] So I think that he would do a good job with Spider-Man.

[01:49:12] Yeah, I do too.

[01:49:13] All right.

[01:49:14] So all of our talk is on the table to move on to the next

[01:49:16] Okay.

[01:49:17] All right.

[01:49:17] Fuck it.

[01:49:18] I'm sorry, James.

[01:49:19] The only thing good about the Acolyte was the when they

[01:49:22] lost their lightsabers the hand to hand.

[01:49:24] So you never know like maybe this one would be the

[01:49:27] Spider-Man where it's going to be like this how I

[01:49:30] learned it.

[01:49:30] This is this is a Tom Holland part four.

[01:49:33] Yeah.

[01:49:33] Okay.

[01:49:34] So you never just do get what I mean like maybe

[01:49:36] this will be the different version of a Spider-Man

[01:49:39] right because I don't know.

[01:49:41] Supposedly everything's supposed to be leading into

[01:49:42] the Black Suit Spider-Man.

[01:49:44] This is also supposed to be in between doomsday and

[01:49:50] and secret wars.

[01:49:51] So and they're saying that it's supposed to take

[01:49:53] place everything in this timeframe is supposed to

[01:49:55] take place on Battle World.

[01:49:56] So it makes sense that we would get finally get the

[01:49:59] Black Suit Spider-Man.

[01:50:00] Is it but this is because of the end of is it venom

[01:50:03] to or is it end of part three?

[01:50:06] No, remember the only only the symbiote came through

[01:50:10] the little whatever.

[01:50:11] Right.

[01:50:11] I think that they're probably going to get going to do

[01:50:14] something on there but it's not going to be like he

[01:50:16] goes up to a machine presses a button and it gives

[01:50:18] him the black suit like it was in the comics.

[01:50:20] No, I think they're going to.

[01:50:22] Yeah, I think hopefully does this but I do think

[01:50:26] that they're finally going to do the Black Suit

[01:50:28] Spider-Man we're probably going to get a true to

[01:50:31] form version of that.

[01:50:33] I would even want it to be the whole movie and

[01:50:35] that's how he beats a certain person and then

[01:50:38] we lose the Black Suit in the next one.

[01:50:40] Oh yeah, no.

[01:50:41] I give it a whole thing.

[01:50:43] I don't want venom in this movie but I would love to

[01:50:45] see him get the Black Suit.

[01:50:47] You know what I mean?

[01:50:47] Like I mean he technically got a Black Suit before

[01:50:49] but it was the stealth suit.

[01:50:50] I want to see him get the Black Suit and then

[01:50:54] in the next movie have that whole dynamic of Spider-Man

[01:50:59] losing everything and just kind of losing his his

[01:51:02] composure and becoming kind of like slightly crazy.

[01:51:05] Yeah.

[01:51:05] And then we get venom which means in this movie

[01:51:09] we also need to get introduced to Eddie Brock and

[01:51:12] like a real version of Eddie Brock.

[01:51:13] Brock Lesnar?

[01:51:14] Brock Lesnar.

[01:51:15] Let's get Brock Lesnar as Eddie Brock.

[01:51:17] No, please.

[01:51:18] We don't need him.

[01:51:19] That would be dope.

[01:51:20] He's a way better.

[01:51:21] He's a way better character than he was in the

[01:51:24] 90s, 90s, 2000s.

[01:51:26] Yeah.

[01:51:26] He could probably do it now.

[01:51:27] We need we definitely need a big dude to play

[01:51:31] Eddie Brock right?

[01:51:33] I mean Tom Hardy.

[01:51:34] Alan Rickson.

[01:51:34] Well no Tom Hardy would have been would have

[01:51:36] been perfect but they're not going to do that

[01:51:38] version of him again unless they have Tom Hardy

[01:51:41] come in and play and actually play him as a

[01:51:44] angry, vengeful dude.

[01:51:46] You know the way that he should be guy that just

[01:51:49] hates Peter Parker.

[01:51:50] You know what Sony would do is they would let

[01:51:52] that movie happen and then Venom 4 will be that

[01:51:56] fucking venom versus hit.

[01:51:58] It would be a weird that good guy venom versus

[01:52:00] a bad guy venom.

[01:52:02] It would be a weird thing.

[01:52:03] Yeah.

[01:52:03] I could because we already know they haven't even

[01:52:06] announced it yet but we know that the

[01:52:08] main villain in the next movie is is is going to be

[01:52:13] what's his name?

[01:52:14] The God of the symbiosis.

[01:52:15] No, we know it's going to be no.

[01:52:16] They haven't earned know what they're going to do it.

[01:52:19] I don't know about that.

[01:52:20] I want maximum carnage.

[01:52:21] I want my God.

[01:52:23] I would love a full on maximum carnage.

[01:52:26] All right.

[01:52:26] I would just be done.

[01:52:28] Yeah.

[01:52:28] Let's move on to the next story.

[01:52:29] I'm sorry.

[01:52:30] We're going to keep going if we don't.

[01:52:31] So let's move on to the next story but yes,

[01:52:33] 100% and I want doppelganger and I want

[01:52:36] Goblin.

[01:52:37] Let's move on.

[01:52:38] Let's move on.

[01:52:39] Let's move on.

[01:52:41] I don't know.

[01:52:42] I don't know if I can actually say this line with all sincerity.

[01:52:47] I still love you 3000.

[01:52:48] I don't know about that right now.

[01:52:50] I love you 3000.

[01:52:51] Is that the little girl from Iron Man?

[01:52:53] Yes.

[01:52:54] Yeah.

[01:52:54] So Catherine Langford was hired to play that older version

[01:52:58] of Tony Stark's daughter Morgan Stark at the end of

[01:53:01] Endgame when after he gives up to you know,

[01:53:04] he sacrifices himself.

[01:53:05] Right.

[01:53:06] But she did not end up in that final cut now.

[01:53:09] She might just be getting her chance to really step into

[01:53:12] the MCU.

[01:53:13] So according to a rumor, their plans for Langford to

[01:53:16] reprise her role as Morgan in a future MCU project.

[01:53:20] Okay.

[01:53:20] So we know it's going to be young Avengers instead of

[01:53:24] this being an adult version of the little girl introduced

[01:53:27] in Avengers Endgame.

[01:53:28] This would more likely be a multiversal role.

[01:53:31] Oh, Marvel Studios has moved on from King McConqueror

[01:53:35] meaning it's possible Morgan could fill the void left by

[01:53:38] Iron Lad and a possible young Avengers project.

[01:53:41] Yeah, I mean she could be Dr.

[01:53:43] Dooms daughter.

[01:53:44] Oh yeah.

[01:53:45] That turns into like iron glass or something or whatever.

[01:53:48] Traveling back in time to save the future sounds like

[01:53:51] a very stark like thing to do.

[01:53:52] Absolutely.

[01:53:53] So yeah.

[01:53:54] So talk is on the table.

[01:53:55] Will Morgan Stark fly into the MCU?

[01:53:58] I 100% believe that we are going to get Morgan Stark

[01:54:01] just because she didn't get her chance in the last movie.

[01:54:04] Yeah.

[01:54:04] I love the idea of her being a variation of Iron Lad.

[01:54:09] That would be yeah.

[01:54:09] That would be awesome.

[01:54:10] Yeah.

[01:54:11] Talk to my talk is on table.

[01:54:12] Yeah, no, I think I'm going through 13 reasons why that's

[01:54:17] not the same girl right?

[01:54:18] This is she was in 13 reason why.

[01:54:19] Yeah, she's in 13.

[01:54:20] Oh shit.

[01:54:21] Okay.

[01:54:21] Oh, so that looks exactly like that girl which makes

[01:54:24] me love that 13 reasons why more small tangent

[01:54:28] because I know I've already done like eight of them.

[01:54:30] There is a storyline where iron heart her Jarvis

[01:54:34] is Tony Stark.

[01:54:35] Am I tripping or am I not?

[01:54:37] And we've been saying for a while that that would be a good

[01:54:39] way to bring Tony Stark back in, but you know, apparently

[01:54:41] that was a thing.

[01:54:43] Yeah.

[01:54:43] I know I know I saw that.

[01:54:46] Okay.

[01:54:46] Okay.

[01:54:46] Anyway, God damn that would be heartwarming if she played

[01:54:49] Iron Heart and that was her Jarvis with her dad.

[01:54:52] That would be you cry every fucking episode.

[01:54:54] Like a multiversal Iron Heart.

[01:54:55] Yeah.

[01:54:56] I mean, I mean, you can rescue.

[01:54:59] I was gonna say she probably better as rescue or she'd

[01:55:02] be again, a multiversal version of iron lad would be great.

[01:55:07] You know, there's so many different ways you could go with

[01:55:10] it.

[01:55:10] You never know that they could both exist and that's their

[01:55:13] Jarvis just so that it's not a one or the other.

[01:55:17] It's just a the people keeping the team intact.

[01:55:21] Yeah.

[01:55:21] I have the original idea that they had where it's like

[01:55:24] Tony uploads his entire consciousness into into an AI

[01:55:29] and he becomes an AI for for the system.

[01:55:32] Like everybody was saying like that would be good in in

[01:55:35] Iron Heart for him to become the AI.

[01:55:38] Yeah, you know the way that Jarvis was the AI or Friday

[01:55:41] his girl Friday was was the AI in the newer suits but

[01:55:46] or either.

[01:55:47] So you remember in Iron Man one and he goes I'll be back

[01:55:50] he looks at the black suit and is like I'll be back baby

[01:55:53] or something along those lines.

[01:55:54] That'd be cool if there was like a nod to right before

[01:55:57] Iron Heart doesn't know if she's going to live or die in

[01:56:01] this battle.

[01:56:02] It's like a last little thing to her that unlocks the suit

[01:56:06] in a different room somewhere.

[01:56:08] You got me like I don't know.

[01:56:10] I was a war reference because he had and born he hadn't

[01:56:13] wore the suit yet.

[01:56:14] So that was a war machine reference that we ended up

[01:56:16] getting in the second movie.

[01:56:17] Right.

[01:56:17] Like it would be cool.

[01:56:18] Like it was like like right when I don't know Iron

[01:56:21] Heart's supposed to is talking to her just to say goodbye

[01:56:23] but it's a it's a I love you 3000 and that unlocks

[01:56:27] her suit in a like a totally different O.C. is the lights

[01:56:30] come up and then we all know what that means.

[01:56:33] Did that make sense?

[01:56:34] All right.

[01:56:34] Yeah.

[01:56:35] Like she's giving her the mantle like something happened.

[01:56:38] Yeah.

[01:56:38] And she gets me she's gonna live but she doesn't the Iron

[01:56:41] Heart doesn't know she's going to live that that continues

[01:56:44] on right.

[01:56:45] I am left.

[01:56:45] Yeah.

[01:56:46] Sorry.

[01:56:46] No, you're fine.

[01:56:47] I love nerdy now.

[01:56:49] I'm just like no you're good.

[01:56:51] So again moving on just because we have so much to

[01:56:54] cover Spider-Man bumping Spider-Man.

[01:56:57] It might be even longer until Spider-Man Beyond the

[01:57:00] Spider-Verse swings its way into theaters.

[01:57:02] A new report indicated that beyond the Spider-Verse will

[01:57:05] likely be delayed to at least 2027 in part due to the

[01:57:09] proximity of Destin Daniel Cretan's Spider-Man 4.

[01:57:12] The report also claims that Sony Pictures has scrapped

[01:57:15] most of the existing work on Beyond the Spider-Verse

[01:57:18] due to a creative overhaul but the animators are

[01:57:21] relieved to have more time to work on the sequel.

[01:57:24] So tacos on the table.

[01:57:25] Are you willing to let your Spidey sense tingle for

[01:57:27] Beyond the Spider-Verse if that means that you get

[01:57:30] Spider-Man 4.

[01:57:31] Sure.

[01:57:32] I'm not too happy about it because Spider-Man 4 that

[01:57:35] will be cool and whatnot but nothing is more Spider-Man

[01:57:39] than the Spider-Verse movies.

[01:57:40] Well, that's true.

[01:57:42] Yeah, that's true.

[01:57:42] But if you I mean we'll get both that's the thing

[01:57:47] and we may not get a Ford if they don't bump this one.

[01:57:51] Does that make sense?

[01:57:53] Do I want tacos?

[01:57:54] Yeah, James is trying to move us around.

[01:57:56] Miguel would not have worked if it wasn't for us nerds

[01:57:59] knowing 2099.

[01:58:01] Yeah.

[01:58:02] So they took a big chance on that because why is this

[01:58:05] the bad guy and he really wasn't it just I have a I

[01:58:08] I'm trying to put together my plan and get this.

[01:58:11] This is the way this works.

[01:58:12] Right.

[01:58:13] And if for it isn't as successful as the other ones

[01:58:18] then you still have Beyond the Spider-Verse still

[01:58:22] look forward to because those events land up and the

[01:58:25] animators get more time so it's not as much of a crunch.

[01:58:28] Yeah, I mean I'm excited for just after the end of the

[01:58:33] last movie I'm just like I need I need more miles.

[01:58:37] I need to see miles as the prowler because that seems

[01:58:40] like such a cool concept of miles fighting miles and

[01:58:44] it's like Spider-Man miles versus prowler miles and

[01:58:47] it's like that's so dope.

[01:58:49] Are you guys old enough to know no dog?

[01:58:51] Old dog.

[01:58:51] Oh yeah.

[01:58:52] Yeah.

[01:58:53] Old dog.

[01:58:53] That's a dog.

[01:58:55] What's his name?

[01:58:56] Um, he was he was in Star Wars recently.

[01:58:59] He was in Star Wars recently.

[01:59:02] Manning.

[01:59:02] He meant that AIDS would have been a good bad miles.

[01:59:06] Yeah.

[01:59:06] No.

[01:59:07] Yeah.

[01:59:07] No, I mean, yeah, I'm just saying that it's not the

[01:59:09] person I was thinking of anyway.

[01:59:10] Go ahead.

[01:59:10] Yeah.

[01:59:11] But yes.

[01:59:12] So that is it for rumors.

[01:59:14] I know James is like no more tacos but it is it for

[01:59:17] rumors that is it for rumors.

[01:59:18] So let us move on guys because it is now time for the

[01:59:23] download and we still have a lot to cover here too.

[01:59:26] So let's get into the download.

[01:59:35] All right.

[01:59:36] For more news trailers reactions check up Distance

[01:59:39] Nerdington Post.

[01:59:41] Let us know what you're nerding out on.

[01:59:43] Yeah, we're gonna start off with some sad news here.

[01:59:46] Yes.

[01:59:46] And so and remember these are just bite size.

[01:59:49] So look at the stars.

[01:59:54] The great kings look down on us from those stars and

[01:59:58] so will I that he that was James Earl Jones.

[02:00:00] He said that as Mufasa the world has lost one of its

[02:00:04] most revered voices legendary actor James Earl Jones

[02:00:08] has passed away at the age of 93 an amazing career

[02:00:12] that span more than seven decades.

[02:00:13] Jones left a big mark on both stage and screen his portrayal

[02:00:18] of the villainous Sith Lord elevated Star Wars into a

[02:00:21] cultural phenomenon also Mufasa the wise and noble lion

[02:00:25] King in Disney's The Lion King from the baseball classic

[02:00:30] Field of Dreams to his wonderful portrayal of Admiral

[02:00:33] Greer in the hunt for at October and Patriot things.

[02:00:36] He was nominated for lead actor Oscar for his role in

[02:00:40] the Great White Hope and was given an honorary Oscar

[02:00:43] at the 2012 ceremony.

[02:00:45] He is an eight time Emmy nominee.

[02:00:47] His two wins both came in 1991 lead actor in a drama series

[02:00:51] for Gabriel Spire and supporting actor in a mini series

[02:00:55] or special for Heatwave as we remember James Earl Jones

[02:00:59] we reflect on a career that not only span generations

[02:01:02] but also shaped them.

[02:01:04] Yeah, rest in peace James Earl Jones man.

[02:01:06] He had a good life 93 years old.

[02:01:09] I kind of had a feeling it was coming soon as much

[02:01:12] as I didn't want it to.

[02:01:14] Yeah.

[02:01:15] The man not only defined my childhood but like I mean

[02:01:18] he was in way more than the movies that we just named

[02:01:20] off here he was in a lot more than the movies.

[02:01:23] He was in the San Juanan movie Conan.

[02:01:26] He was in the San lot.

[02:01:27] That's right.

[02:01:27] He played the snake guy.

[02:01:29] Yeah.

[02:01:29] Yeah.

[02:01:30] And he's he did so many plays like so many.

[02:01:34] That's how we got found was he was on stage and

[02:01:37] they're like we like his voice.

[02:01:38] We don't like David Pouse's voice.

[02:01:40] Let's get this guy with this deep voice to do this character

[02:01:42] for us and you did it.

[02:01:44] And he was the voice of CNN.

[02:01:45] That's right.

[02:01:46] He was the voice of CNN.

[02:01:47] You are now watching CNN.

[02:01:49] Or no this is CNN.

[02:01:51] And this is CNN.

[02:01:53] But yeah so he had a long career.

[02:01:56] It's sad that he has passed away but he did he

[02:01:59] outlived a lot of people.

[02:02:01] Yeah he did again rest in peace James Earl Jones.

[02:02:05] But let's move on because I'm going to be too depressed

[02:02:07] to do anything else if I don't.

[02:02:09] On to some abs news because Aaron Taylor Johnson

[02:02:13] and Tom Hardy two men who have beautiful abs are

[02:02:16] teaming up with director Kerry Fukunaga Fukunaga

[02:02:21] who directed what how many episodes of Star Wars

[02:02:24] for a feature film adaptation of the Joe

[02:02:27] Nesbo crime thriller Blood on Snow set in the

[02:02:30] 1970s Oslo where two rival gang leaders Hoffman

[02:02:33] and the Fisherman Hardy Hoffman and the Fisherman

[02:02:37] who's played by Hardy Vi for control.

[02:02:40] So we do have a go for Venom versus Craven Opsis

[02:02:45] Sony will probably do it.

[02:02:48] Synopsis saddens me that they're going to do this

[02:02:50] but Venom versus Craven Opsis Sony will probably do

[02:02:53] it Synopsis Synopsis probably how Sony feels

[02:03:03] but but but in reality the reality is that's how

[02:03:08] we all feel about it actually I'm still thinking

[02:03:10] about the abs I was gonna say actually to be on

[02:03:13] to be on like how everybody actually feels is

[02:03:27] the synopsis reads Hoffman's trusted hitman Olaf

[02:03:30] played by abs Johnson is a cold efficient killer

[02:03:34] perfect for the job but beneath his ruthless

[02:03:36] exterior lies an unexpected intelligence and an

[02:03:39] unwavering moral code shaped by a complicated

[02:03:42] childhood when Hoffman orders his own wife to be

[02:03:45] murdered Olaf's principles clash with his

[02:03:49] loyalties instead of pulling the trigger he hatches

[02:03:52] a scheme that makes him Hoffman's next target

[02:03:55] and with nowhere safe to turn Olaf forms

[02:03:58] an uneasy alliance that places him at the

[02:04:01] heart of Oslo's deadly gang war.

[02:04:03] No dates set for abs but abs are coming.

[02:04:07] I liked it better when it's called the replacement

[02:04:09] killers there you go.

[02:04:12] So I don't know how I ended up on this one because

[02:04:15] I wanted to read this one but go for it.

[02:04:18] So from ads to when Bree goes casting for Amazon

[02:04:23] MGM studios and Mattel films live action film

[02:04:27] adaptation of Masters of the Universe continues

[02:04:30] with the addition of Allison free who is taking

[02:04:33] on the role of the villain Eva Lin she joins

[02:04:36] the previously cast Camilla Mendez who is set

[02:04:39] to play Tila and Nicholas Gallant Galatini

[02:04:44] Galatini who will be taking on the role of

[02:04:48] He-Man Masters of the Universe is being produced

[02:04:50] by escape artists and Mattel films for release

[02:04:53] exclusively in theaters worldwide on June 5th

[02:04:57] 2026.

[02:04:58] I'm excited for this just because hopefully it does

[02:05:02] everything justice.

[02:05:04] I think she'll be a good evil.

[02:05:05] I like evil.

[02:05:06] Also I love that they chose to use super evil Lin

[02:05:09] as the picture.

[02:05:11] Yeah, she was such a dope character.

[02:05:13] Yeah, she does yes but let's and she actually does

[02:05:17] kind of look like evil.

[02:05:17] So I mean yeah I could absolutely see that.

[02:05:20] Yeah.

[02:05:20] So again moving on to the next headline here

[02:05:24] not only murders in the building but new seasons.

[02:05:27] Hulu has officially renewed Steve Martin and Martin

[02:05:30] Shorten Selena Gomez's fantastic murder series

[02:05:33] or mystery series are only murders in the building

[02:05:36] for season five.

[02:05:37] The fifth season will consist of 10 episodes.

[02:05:40] Season four will run is running now through October 29th

[02:05:43] on Hulu moving on to Potter News because Allah

[02:05:48] Hamara Potter heads.

[02:05:50] The search is underway for the new trio of young actors

[02:05:53] to play the iconic roles of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley

[02:05:56] and Hermione Granger in HBO's upcoming TV series.

[02:06:00] The cabler officially launched an open casting call

[02:06:03] this weekend for children from the UK and Ireland

[02:06:06] to audition for the leads in the HBO original series.

[02:06:10] The note possibly revealed the targeted start of production

[02:06:14] date for the series as it stipulates that the young

[02:06:17] actors must be between the ages of 9 and 11 and in April

[02:06:21] of 2025 that is seven months from now which is how long

[02:06:24] it took to find the original trio.

[02:06:27] Deadline reports that the casting call notes include language

[02:06:30] that has become an industry standard stating we are

[02:06:33] committed to inclusive diverse casting for every role

[02:06:37] please submit qualified performers without regard

[02:06:40] to ethnicity, sex, disability, race, sexual orientation,

[02:06:44] gender identity or other basic basis.

[02:06:48] I think it is supposed to say basic or any other basic

[02:06:51] protected by or any other base.

[02:06:53] No, I was right.

[02:06:54] Any other basis protected by law unless otherwise

[02:06:58] specifically indicated God legally sucks.

[02:07:01] The casting call follows the recent hire of succession duo

[02:07:05] Francesca Garnier and Mark Mylon as writer and director

[02:07:11] on the direct on the Harry Potter series respectively

[02:07:14] after extensive showrunner search the series which

[02:07:17] originated on max before moving to HBO is described

[02:07:20] as a faithful adaptation of J.K.

[02:07:23] Rollins books and will feature a new cast.

[02:07:26] Well, I mean that you can't you can't you know use the

[02:07:28] time per neuronym and take them back to when they were

[02:07:31] kids would have to have a new cast.

[02:07:34] Yeah, so yeah, yeah cool.

[02:07:37] Fun times.

[02:07:38] This ain't your mama's sparkle circle.

[02:07:41] God sparkly vampires.

[02:07:43] The Twilight universe novel Midnight Sun is getting

[02:07:46] an animated series adaptation at Netflix the project

[02:07:50] which has been given a straight to series order has

[02:07:53] entered development at the global streamer and comes

[02:07:56] from Lionsgate, you know Lionsgate there they go again

[02:07:59] Alliance gate television whose movie studio sibling

[02:08:02] released the Twilight saga.

[02:08:04] The Twilight companion novel is a retelling of Twilight

[02:08:08] from the perspective of Edward Holland.

[02:08:11] Robert Pattinson's performance as Edward in the 2008

[02:08:15] film Twilight was informed by Midnight Sun as Meyer

[02:08:18] shared her then unfinished manuscript with the actor.

[02:08:21] So that's kind of cool.

[02:08:23] Okay, so we're getting sparkly vampires who are basically

[02:08:29] fanfic of oh no no.

[02:08:32] Sorry, Twilight's not fanfic.

[02:08:34] It's the it was the other stupid movie that was

[02:08:36] fanfic of Twilight.

[02:08:37] The 50 shades gray.

[02:08:39] Shades of gray.

[02:08:39] That's right.

[02:08:42] Destro vampires and skinny jeans.

[02:08:44] Yeah, there you go.

[02:08:46] I'm sorry this this this whole thing is misleading

[02:08:50] because this isn't Midnight Suns.

[02:08:52] Yeah, Midnight Suns is so much better than sparkly vampires.

[02:08:56] That book was actually pretty good.

[02:08:59] All right, what Midnight Sun?

[02:09:00] Yeah, I actually read all of the Twilight books.

[02:09:02] Thank you very much.

[02:09:04] No Midnight Suns has bled and I would prefer Blade to

[02:09:07] be in this movie killing all these vampires.

[02:09:10] Let's move on to the next headline here.

[02:09:13] I feel this one right now.

[02:09:14] She is beauty.

[02:09:15] She is gray.

[02:09:16] She will punch.

[02:09:17] She will definitely punch you in the face.

[02:09:20] Absolutely will.

[02:09:21] Prime Video is developing a Reacher spinoff series that

[02:09:25] will center on Maria Sten's fan favorite character

[02:09:28] Francis Neely and it will be titled Neely.

[02:09:32] The project is on the fast track to development

[02:09:35] and Reacher showrunner Nick Santora has teamed with

[02:09:39] Nicholas Wooten to develop the project.

[02:09:43] The author of the Jack Reacher books, Lee Child is producing

[02:09:46] the series.

[02:09:47] There are no details to share other like other than what

[02:09:50] Wooten I just said.

[02:09:51] So I like her.

[02:09:52] You know, I was actually talking to Husby about this

[02:09:56] that because we're huge Reacher fans but I was like

[02:10:00] is it when you had two spinoffs?

[02:10:03] It's like is it you love the character as themselves

[02:10:07] or you love the character because of how they highlight

[02:10:11] and interact with the main character of the original.

[02:10:14] And I think with her, I like her as herself.

[02:10:18] Yeah.

[02:10:18] Neely is a fun character either way.

[02:10:20] Yeah.

[02:10:21] You know, and I would love to see kind of like what she

[02:10:24] got up to in like what was it like the 10 years from

[02:10:27] when they got out of the army to when they meet up

[02:10:30] again.

[02:10:30] I mean, she's a private detective now.

[02:10:32] Right.

[02:10:33] So after this last season of Reacher so I definitely

[02:10:36] could see them going back like the detective that

[02:10:39] you know private detective thing where she's helping people

[02:10:41] every week that kind of thing.

[02:10:43] Yeah, you're fun.

[02:10:44] All right.

[02:10:45] So let's jump into the regular news here getting out of

[02:10:47] the headlines and getting into the download itself.

[02:10:51] The MCU is about to get special or more specially

[02:10:55] something like that.

[02:10:56] All right.

[02:10:56] Two of the highest rated TV or film projects to hit

[02:10:59] Disney Plus are the Marvel special presentations were

[02:11:02] will by night and the Guardians of the Galaxy

[02:11:04] Holiday Special according to Marvel producer and head

[02:11:07] of TV at Marvel Brad Winderbaum.

[02:11:10] We can look forward to more of them in a recent interview

[02:11:13] with comic book friends of the show comic book dot com

[02:11:16] wonder bomb was asked if the studio would produce more

[02:11:19] special presentations and if you thought it would happen

[02:11:22] anytime soon, Winderbaum responded yes, I do.

[02:11:25] If I could even confirm that one special presentation

[02:11:28] is already in production.

[02:11:30] However, he also confirmed that it will not arrive

[02:11:33] until 2025.

[02:11:35] So we will have to wait until 2026 to see this project.

[02:11:39] Are you guys excited for more special presentations or did

[02:11:44] you guys even see the first two special presentations?

[02:11:47] I saw them and I'm excited about this one.

[02:11:50] What do you think it's going to be?

[02:11:51] Those right?

[02:11:52] Oh my God.

[02:11:53] Yes.

[02:11:53] What about you, Ash?

[02:11:55] What do you think man?

[02:11:55] Did you watch the first two specials?

[02:11:58] No.

[02:11:58] No, I'm all thinking about it.

[02:12:01] But no, I didn't see him.

[02:12:04] I know I wanted to see him.

[02:12:06] That's the other guy from eating.

[02:12:08] You think my mother's I'm getting?

[02:12:09] Yeah, right?

[02:12:11] Okay.

[02:12:11] Is the other guy is that and or guy?

[02:12:13] It's the other guy.

[02:12:14] Yeah.

[02:12:14] Right?

[02:12:15] Yeah.

[02:12:15] Yeah.

[02:12:16] Yeah.

[02:12:16] I haven't I haven't seen that yet.

[02:12:18] I didn't know if it was going to be gory.

[02:12:20] I'm not a real big gore guy.

[02:12:21] No, it was all in black and white.

[02:12:23] Yeah.

[02:12:23] There was very little blood.

[02:12:25] It was very it's like really like an old school, like black

[02:12:28] and white like creature from the black Lagoon type.

[02:12:32] Right.

[02:12:32] 50s, 60s kind of thing.

[02:12:34] It was a real it was really well done.

[02:12:36] It's actually I like the I want to say man thing.

[02:12:39] It's not man thing, but that special more than I liked the

[02:12:44] Guardians Holiday Special and I really like the Guardians

[02:12:47] Holiday Special.

[02:12:48] I like the Guardians Holiday Special.

[02:12:49] My I think the best part of the Guardians Holiday Special

[02:12:52] is that they got Kevin Bacon to show up in it and play

[02:12:57] himself.

[02:12:58] Yeah, I mean I thought that was great.

[02:13:00] Yeah.

[02:13:00] It was it was good.

[02:13:01] I mean the opening scene in that move and the special

[02:13:04] was good too.

[02:13:05] But I mean like it was it was pretty funny and I did enjoy

[02:13:09] it immensely.

[02:13:10] I know graveyard is not a big fan of Werewolf by Night

[02:13:14] because it wasn't enough horror for him.

[02:13:16] Yeah.

[02:13:16] Yeah.

[02:13:17] Look on her face right now.

[02:13:19] But like I enjoyed I enjoyed the kind of the atmosphere and

[02:13:25] the way they did it.

[02:13:26] I think that the the way that they shot it and the way

[02:13:29] that it was done could only be done by a music composer.

[02:13:33] Yeah, because there's there's a music to the way that

[02:13:36] that that entire thing was filmed.

[02:13:37] Yes, it's really nice.

[02:13:39] Yeah, because the director was his directorial debut and

[02:13:42] he is a film is a music composer for for for Marvel.

[02:13:49] He actually scored the Marvel theme.

[02:13:52] Yes, he's like everything right and the Avengers theme

[02:13:55] and all that.

[02:13:56] Yeah, Michael G and Chino.

[02:13:57] Right.

[02:13:58] So I love kind of like they gave him that chance and he was

[02:14:03] able to pull it off in a way that felt almost reminiscent

[02:14:06] to the old universals.

[02:14:07] Yeah, I really I loved it and I do love those old

[02:14:12] universal movies like the old school Wolfman where

[02:14:15] you're like that's a guy with a Wolfman mask on.

[02:14:18] I mean, you know it is but you're like, no, it's really

[02:14:20] a wolfman.

[02:14:21] And it very much is the Wolfman like it does feel like

[02:14:25] the Wolfman and it's funny how like now they're doing

[02:14:27] the Wolfman movie that's coming out and I think this

[02:14:29] version still looks better than the one that's in the

[02:14:31] big Wolfman movie.

[02:14:33] And how could you not love Ted?

[02:14:35] Yeah, yeah, Ted is such a sweetheart.

[02:14:38] I just love him so much anyway.

[02:14:39] I mean, was anybody expecting Man thing to show up

[02:14:42] inside of that?

[02:14:43] No, and but I loved it but he was he's so sweet.

[02:14:47] I love him.

[02:14:48] I want to punchy and then also establishing vampires in

[02:14:52] the universe, which basically just makes it so that we can

[02:14:55] transition to blade a little bit better.

[02:14:56] Yeah, I mean if it just it opened that door wide and

[02:14:59] you've got so you got Elsa Bloodstone introduced her

[02:15:03] you introduced Jack Terrier Jack Russell.

[02:15:08] I call him Jack Terrier Jack Russell and man and you

[02:15:11] got man man thing.

[02:15:12] We got Ted.

[02:15:13] So that's three characters in that world that are

[02:15:15] pretty well established in that world.

[02:15:18] So it was good and he did it in like an hour.

[02:15:21] So it was it was great.

[02:15:22] Did considering that that Ash hasn't watched it, did you

[02:15:26] watch the the colored version that came out later?

[02:15:28] Me?

[02:15:29] Yeah.

[02:15:29] No, I didn't actually I was like no, I want to I

[02:15:32] just I like it the way that it was because that's the

[02:15:34] way he wanted it.

[02:15:35] Right.

[02:15:35] And then they released in color the next year.

[02:15:37] Yeah, I know but I wanted I just I like that like

[02:15:40] the original thing.

[02:15:41] I haven't watched it in color.

[02:15:43] I watched it in black and white.

[02:15:44] I like that.

[02:15:44] I like the way it looked in black and white.

[02:15:46] I think the only reason I would go back and rewatch it

[02:15:49] in color is to see what man thing looks like on screen.

[02:15:52] Yeah, yeah, he does look really spooky and black and

[02:15:55] white.

[02:15:55] And so he may not be as spooky.

[02:15:57] So yeah, that might be I think he would just look

[02:15:58] cool and yeah.

[02:15:59] Oh yeah.

[02:16:00] You know, but okay.

[02:16:01] So let's let's move on to the next story here.

[02:16:04] But as we do recommend if you were going to watch

[02:16:07] like yes, you have a couple hours to just kill.

[02:16:09] I will.

[02:16:10] I will.

[02:16:10] I'll end up watching it.

[02:16:11] Yeah.

[02:16:12] And you'll like the Guardians one.

[02:16:14] It's got a lot of really fun songs in it and it's it's wacky.

[02:16:17] Yeah, and it does kind of lead into Guardians 3 like in a

[02:16:21] really good way.

[02:16:22] Yeah.

[02:16:23] Some really funny.

[02:16:25] The holiday thing.

[02:16:25] Oh, I saw the holiday when I just didn't see.

[02:16:27] Oh, okay.

[02:16:28] All right.

[02:16:29] Wolf of Wall Street or whatever.

[02:16:30] Wolf of Wall Street.

[02:16:30] Wolf of Wall Street.

[02:16:32] Sandra Betty in the chat said it said it the best way.

[02:16:36] It was something different for Disney but it was still

[02:16:38] good in a more family friendly way.

[02:16:40] So it's not like.

[02:16:41] Yeah.

[02:16:41] It's not really gory.

[02:16:42] There are kind of like scenes that are kind of like a little

[02:16:46] shocking because you're not expecting a monster to show up

[02:16:50] and be monstrous on Disney.

[02:16:52] But it also was not like, you know, like gory or overly

[02:16:56] scary, you know, like it is a lot more like jump scares

[02:16:58] like you like you build it up and you scare yourself kind

[02:17:02] of thing like oh what's around that corner?

[02:17:05] Especially because like the scenes where where where

[02:17:09] where Wolf by Night starts kind of going after people.

[02:17:12] They're like kind of cut scenes.

[02:17:14] So like they're cutting away from from the horror, but it's

[02:17:18] implied that he's killing everybody in the room.

[02:17:21] So yeah.

[02:17:23] Yeah, a lot of that's done like old school.

[02:17:27] I'm telling you if you have watched those old black

[02:17:31] and white horror movies that were like old universal.

[02:17:34] It's very old school Wolfman.

[02:17:36] It is really old school.

[02:17:38] Wolfman.

[02:17:39] So right.

[02:17:39] Yeah, I mean, yeah.

[02:17:40] So so we'll move on to the next story here because it is

[02:17:43] also something I'm very excited for something that we

[02:17:45] definitely need to talk about just because we know a guy

[02:17:48] who influenced the hell out of this to infinity gauntlet

[02:17:51] and beyond not long ago Marvel Studios president Kevin

[02:17:56] Feige confirmed that they are currently developing a

[02:17:59] Nova series for Disney Plus.

[02:18:01] Now Marvel Studios head of streaming television and

[02:18:04] animation Brad Winterbomb again is also talking about

[02:18:08] the project and offers a little bit of insight regarding

[02:18:10] what we can expect from the tone during a recent interview

[02:18:14] with the phase zero podcast.

[02:18:16] How come we can't do an interview with us?

[02:18:18] Winterbomb described the Nova series.

[02:18:20] Actually, I haven't and then maybe I will winter bomb

[02:18:24] described the Nova series as an amazing ensemble piece

[02:18:28] with a great cast of characters and he indicated that

[02:18:31] both Richard Rider and Sam Alexander will appear.

[02:18:34] Oh my God.

[02:18:35] You just shut your mouth.

[02:18:37] We talked about this.

[02:18:38] We talked about this.

[02:18:39] I said they said that so they announced that Sam Alexander

[02:18:42] was going to be in the series is going to focus on Sam

[02:18:44] Alexander, right?

[02:18:45] And I kept saying I would like to see Richard Rider as

[02:18:49] like maybe a mentor or something.

[02:18:50] He confirmed that Richard Rider is going to be in it.

[02:18:53] That is exactly what it's going to be.

[02:18:55] Okay.

[02:18:55] Yeah.

[02:18:56] Sorry, I'm excited.

[02:18:57] He also said that the show will have shades of both

[02:19:00] Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica, which is something

[02:19:02] that I'm sure fans would embrace and love.

[02:19:06] Guys, I need your thoughts on this because you can already

[02:19:08] see I'm stupid stoked about this.

[02:19:11] Go first, Ash.

[02:19:13] It looks amazing.

[02:19:15] The I don't know much about Nova other than the back of

[02:19:19] the Marvel one in series two cards.

[02:19:22] Okay.

[02:19:22] But I know it's good.

[02:19:25] So think think the Green Lantern.

[02:19:27] Yeah, he's like a space cop.

[02:19:28] He's a space cop.

[02:19:29] So he doesn't he doesn't have he doesn't have like the whole,

[02:19:33] you know, willpower and I can create things but he does have

[02:19:37] like super strength.

[02:19:38] He does have like super speed.

[02:19:41] He's yeah, he I mean, he's he's a cop with amnesia

[02:19:43] essentially.

[02:19:44] Oh, he's a really good character like Nova's he's

[02:19:48] basically think of like the so the Nova Corps from Guardians

[02:19:52] of the Galaxy in the first movie.

[02:19:53] He's like essentially like the super cop from from

[02:19:56] from the Nova Corps.

[02:19:57] I got you.

[02:19:58] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[02:19:58] Yeah, I again other than the back of the card.

[02:20:01] I think it's gonna be awesome.

[02:20:03] Right?

[02:20:04] And I'm happy it's not I'm happy we're branching out

[02:20:07] other than like the Hulk and this and that like I'm happy

[02:20:11] about that.

[02:20:11] It's funny because both versions that they're doing of

[02:20:16] the guys from have been Nova are both like human.

[02:20:21] Right.

[02:20:22] And Richard Ryder gets amnesia.

[02:20:26] He gets basically kidnapped and he gets Cree kind of like

[02:20:30] augmentations and becomes like the guardian of Xandar

[02:20:33] essentially.

[02:20:34] It's kind of the kind of swipe it for Captain Marvel.

[02:20:38] Yeah, he's he's very similar to Captain Marvel.

[02:20:41] Yeah, they Captain Marvel and Nova like are always

[02:20:45] like teaming up to do like missions and stuff.

[02:20:48] They're like they're like really because Captain

[02:20:51] Marvel with the whole Cree and they're and and they're

[02:20:54] what are they?

[02:20:56] What are the Nova Corps?

[02:20:57] What Xandar?

[02:20:59] Xandarian, yeah.

[02:20:59] Yeah.

[02:21:00] And so but yeah, so like they team up a lot.

[02:21:03] So and that's it.

[02:21:04] But I think here's what I think this is what I would

[02:21:06] like to see when they say Star Trek Battlestar Galactica.

[02:21:11] Yeah, I want it to be like he's the Mandalorian like

[02:21:16] that type of thing.

[02:21:17] Yeah, not like he has to take them.

[02:21:18] But like, yeah, like he's that like, you know, one Nova

[02:21:24] people are scared of that because they're like, oh, you

[02:21:26] can't beat like how like how they used to be about the

[02:21:28] Mandalorians all the time.

[02:21:29] It's like, oh, no, you go up against Mandalorian and

[02:21:31] you're going to get your ass kicked kind of thing.

[02:21:33] I want to see that.

[02:21:34] That's what I want to see from I feel like what's

[02:21:37] going to happen here is in universe Xandar has been

[02:21:41] destroyed.

[02:21:42] So I feel like what it is is Richard Ryder was off

[02:21:45] planet and is the last survivor of the Nova Corps,

[02:21:51] which actually does kind of follow Chris Maronins run

[02:21:54] a little bit.

[02:21:55] And then he's training Sam Alexander because he's

[02:21:59] trying to reestablish the Nova Corps again.

[02:22:02] Yeah.

[02:22:02] Right.

[02:22:02] And he's just like, you know, goes to earth find Sam

[02:22:05] Alexander and and starts training Sam Alexander

[02:22:09] Sam Alexander is a very different character from

[02:22:11] Richard Ryder, but they're both, you know, they're

[02:22:13] similar in movesets and stuff.

[02:22:15] So I love the idea of getting both versions of Nova.

[02:22:18] Yeah, no, that'd be great.

[02:22:19] Yeah.

[02:22:20] And and having it be something along the lines of rather

[02:22:24] than being the strongest member of the Nova Corps.

[02:22:27] He's the last survivor of the Nova Corps.

[02:22:30] Yeah, I like that.

[02:22:31] And then also it could be very much like Batman Beyond.

[02:22:36] Yeah.

[02:22:36] Yeah.

[02:22:36] That'd be cool too.

[02:22:37] Cool.

[02:22:38] And then Destro in the chat saying there's going to

[02:22:41] be plenty of guardians making cameos for sure.

[02:22:43] Especially with the new guardians team that we have.

[02:22:46] It'd be cool to see all of them in this.

[02:22:48] So that would be fine.

[02:22:49] Yes.

[02:22:49] But you know, I would rather ask a very important question.

[02:22:54] Oh yeah.

[02:22:56] I'm waiting for this question.

[02:22:57] Well, change the picture.

[02:22:59] I'm going to when you say it.

[02:23:00] Oh, where my witches at?

[02:23:02] That's right.

[02:23:03] You can expect to see more of Ms. Agatha following her

[02:23:08] following the events of the upcoming Disney Plus

[02:23:11] series Agatha all along.

[02:23:14] Apparently Brad Winterbomb can't keep his mouth shut.

[02:23:17] Recently he told Screen Ranch.

[02:23:20] That's a third podcast.

[02:23:24] When you have an icon like Catherine Hawn and what she

[02:23:28] has brought to the screen with Agatha, you just want

[02:23:31] to see more of her.

[02:23:32] So yes, there will be more Agatha in the future of

[02:23:35] the MCs.

[02:23:36] Yes.

[02:23:36] She's in an episode of What If Season 3.

[02:23:40] Oh nice.

[02:23:40] I shouldn't say more, but it's one of my favorite episodes

[02:23:44] ever done and it may involve the giant musical number

[02:23:47] and she's just incredible.

[02:23:49] And we all want to see more of her Marvel televisions

[02:23:52] Agatha all along will cast his fellow Disney Plus on

[02:23:55] September 18th.

[02:23:57] It's going to be next week and I'm so excited and I

[02:23:59] can't wait.

[02:23:59] I'm going to wear my witch hat.

[02:24:01] So, so all I've gotten from this story is that we

[02:24:05] need to get Brad Winterbomb on the show so he

[02:24:07] can like give us an exclusive.

[02:24:08] Right.

[02:24:09] I'm going to tweet at him right now.

[02:24:11] Hey dude, you've been on every freaking podcast except ours.

[02:24:16] We would like an exclusive as well.

[02:24:18] Would you like to talk at LA Comic Con?

[02:24:21] So Ash, what do you think?

[02:24:23] Did you watch One Division?

[02:24:24] Yeah, yeah.

[02:24:26] I'm excited.

[02:24:27] I saw from what I saw, I mean the trailer.

[02:24:30] I don't know what to expect so I'm interested but

[02:24:34] I don't know how in I'm in like I am but I'm in.

[02:24:38] This is this is the property.

[02:24:40] This is the third property where I'm going to be

[02:24:41] expecting Mephistopheles to show up.

[02:24:45] Mephisto.

[02:24:46] Yeah, because it makes sense for him to show up just

[02:24:48] because I kind of was hoping he was going to show up in

[02:24:53] in multi versus madness.

[02:24:55] Oh yeah.

[02:24:56] Yeah, I guess she had the dark hole and they had the

[02:24:59] whole they had Mount Wundergore and everything.

[02:25:04] So it's kind of like okay.

[02:25:05] Well, I'm kind of expecting Mephisto to show up and just

[02:25:09] be like I'm the mastermind and I'm the puppet master but

[02:25:12] it's like it didn't happen.

[02:25:14] I'd love for him to show up in this because it is an

[02:25:17] entire Covenant witches.

[02:25:20] Yeah.

[02:25:20] Right.

[02:25:21] So you have Mephisto show up and show that he's the

[02:25:24] reason that everybody has power and to begin with.

[02:25:27] Right.

[02:25:27] Like your and like maybe towards the end of the show,

[02:25:30] they have to fight Mephisto and that gives us that.

[02:25:33] I would love that.

[02:25:34] I would love to get kind of like a rebellion against Mephisto.

[02:25:39] Yeah, that'd be kind of cool.

[02:25:41] I think it I could see.

[02:25:43] Let me add that the hardness is like pretty she's pretty

[02:25:47] central in the MCU and that's why I was in the

[02:25:50] supernatural world.

[02:25:51] Yeah.

[02:25:51] So I mean I could see that.

[02:25:53] I was gonna say like maybe that gives us not necessarily

[02:25:56] a good guy but that makes it so that she gets to that

[02:26:00] point where she becomes the mentor.

[02:26:02] Yeah, that she is in like the rest of the overall

[02:26:05] Marvel Universe and the nanny and the nanny.

[02:26:09] Oh, maybe we get both of them.

[02:26:12] You remember the million quote unquote clues that this

[02:26:15] is on Mephisto?

[02:26:16] Yeah, that would be cool if that was in this as well

[02:26:19] and you realize that it was all along Mephisto and

[02:26:23] it was because you could watch it again in a different

[02:26:26] you could watch that the Wanda vision again in a

[02:26:29] different light like oh they were giving it away because

[02:26:33] it was this and this and that.

[02:26:35] Yep, because there's so many clues that if you're a comic

[02:26:38] fan you see all of these Mephisto clues and that's why so

[02:26:42] many people are like where when is Mephisto showing up

[02:26:44] because we've seen all the clues we all know it's

[02:26:46] coming we know Mephisto is coming or maybe Mephisto

[02:26:49] doesn't actually show up and he is a post credit

[02:26:52] character on this and that leads into Ironheart.

[02:26:56] Oh, so he is supposed to be in Ironheart but I

[02:26:58] want to say that leads into Ghost Rider.

[02:27:01] I could yeah because remember he plays a yeah because

[02:27:03] he plays a massive role in Ghost Rider.

[02:27:06] That's true and they've already said or at least

[02:27:08] Fygge has said that when Ghost Rider shows up it's going

[02:27:12] to be more than one version of Ghost Rider.

[02:27:13] That's cool.

[02:27:14] I like that should be that.

[02:27:15] I like that Fygge has been doing this whole thing

[02:27:17] where it's like rather than starting off with one

[02:27:20] version of a character, I'm just going to drop two

[02:27:23] or three versions of the character at once and then

[02:27:25] you get like these team ups that you we've only seen

[02:27:28] seldomly in the comics right like maybe we're going

[02:27:30] to get Cosmic Ghost Rider with with Johnny Blaze.

[02:27:35] Or Robbie Reyes and Cosmic Ghost Rider or Robbie Reyes

[02:27:38] and Johnny Face.

[02:27:40] So yeah it's or it's somebody on their way out

[02:27:42] because this is the last time I can do this kind of thing.

[02:27:45] Yeah, well like if I remember what you have in

[02:27:47] or whatever whatever the situation.

[02:27:49] Yeah, if anything that would be either what's his name

[02:27:55] the vintage writer.

[02:27:57] I'm trying to remember his name.

[02:27:58] Oh, God.

[02:27:59] Yeah, the guy who came before Johnny Blaze.

[02:28:01] So like maybe it's him or maybe you know we're getting

[02:28:06] to the point where Johnny Blaze is passing the torch

[02:28:07] to Robbie Reyes.

[02:28:08] Yeah, could be that.

[02:28:10] Right.

[02:28:10] So I mean yeah, it's either way.

[02:28:12] Mephisto plays a big part in that and you know

[02:28:15] I'm excited to finally get Mephisto in the story

[02:28:18] if that's where they're going.

[02:28:20] But I do want to see more Agatha Harkness.

[02:28:21] I think she's a great character, especially with

[02:28:23] the way that they've revamped her.

[02:28:26] She's not like a weird old lady right now.

[02:28:28] Yeah, she is.

[02:28:29] Yeah, that's true.

[02:28:30] Yeah, because that just makes it more fun that she's just

[02:28:32] not the weird old lady.

[02:28:33] She is a you know an interesting character and she's

[02:28:35] not just like a mentor character like she is in the comics.

[02:28:38] So I'm trying to find the name but oh the vintage writer.

[02:28:42] Yeah.

[02:28:42] Yeah.

[02:28:43] But while you're looking that up, let's get to this

[02:28:45] last story here.

[02:28:46] So I'm pretty Carter Slade Carter Slade.

[02:28:49] That's right.

[02:28:50] Okay.

[02:28:51] The he's the one with the flaming horse.

[02:28:52] Yes.

[02:28:53] Yeah.

[02:28:54] But moving on to this last story.

[02:28:56] So Chris Smith goes to Washington and I'm sure that this

[02:29:00] Chris Smith goes to Washington is going to get a is

[02:29:03] going to get an Emmy like like Mr. Smith goes to Washington.

[02:29:06] There you go.

[02:29:07] James Gunn.

[02:29:08] Sorry, that is a reference that like most people on here

[02:29:11] are probably not going to understand.

[02:29:13] Mr. Smith goes to Washington because that's exactly why

[02:29:16] I did it.

[02:29:17] Exactly.

[02:29:17] That's what I'm saying.

[02:29:18] Most people are not going to understand it.

[02:29:20] We do.

[02:29:20] Um, James Gunn has been working diligently on the new DC

[02:29:25] universe while fans have been focused on the new Superman

[02:29:28] movie.

[02:29:29] Gunn has also also has a couple of TV projects cooking

[02:29:32] including season two of the suicide squad spin-off

[02:29:35] peacemaker when asked for a season two update on threads

[02:29:39] Gunn said that he's on threads and start talking to

[02:29:41] James Gunn on threads.

[02:29:42] Uh, I mean that he's active like that on threads.

[02:29:46] Uh, hi.

[02:29:47] Uh, hi James.

[02:29:49] Uh, Gunn said that John Cena and the gang will be back

[02:29:52] for more outrageous adventures in 2025 after Superman.

[02:29:57] Uh, but it's not going to have Jason Momoa as you know,

[02:30:03] uh, as the dude who fucks fish.

[02:30:04] Uh, the DCU reboot flies into theaters in July,

[02:30:08] which means we can expect peacemaker season two

[02:30:11] sometime in the second half of the year.

[02:30:13] Gunn recently took to social media to reveal a first

[02:30:16] official look at the new helmet.

[02:30:18] John Cena's character Christopher Smith will dawn

[02:30:21] when he makes his return.

[02:30:22] The photo shows the helmet from the back, but it's

[02:30:25] clearly a new design possibly inspired by the future

[02:30:28] state version of the character.

[02:30:30] Uh, we have back helmet people.

[02:30:32] We also have merch people because ladies and gentlemen,

[02:30:34] we got merch people.

[02:30:39] I know we probably want to talk about it, but I

[02:30:41] slept out.

[02:30:42] Yeah, I know.

[02:30:43] It's easy joke.

[02:30:44] Uh, yes.

[02:30:45] Uh, that I like the helmet that we're getting right here.

[02:30:49] I am excited for more peacemaker.

[02:30:51] Peacemaker was such a funny good series.

[02:30:53] Uh, as much as I know you're not a big fan of, uh, of

[02:30:57] the man that nobody can see.

[02:30:59] John Cena!

[02:31:02] Uh, but he made that show.

[02:31:06] Yeah, I don't.

[02:31:07] I haven't won it.

[02:31:07] Oh my God.

[02:31:08] And Eagle Lee is so good.

[02:31:11] That's the only reason why I want to watch it

[02:31:13] is for Eagle Lee.

[02:31:14] Eagle Lee is so good.

[02:31:16] You got to watch it for, um, for the T T-1000 being just

[02:31:19] like a absurd racist KKK douche.

[02:31:22] No, I'm okay with that.

[02:31:24] Uh, no, he,

[02:31:24] No, I mean,

[02:31:25] He plays,

[02:31:26] Yeah, yeah,

[02:31:26] He actually plays it really well just because of like

[02:31:31] the demeanor that he can play.

[02:31:33] Yeah.

[02:31:33] Right.

[02:31:34] Jason Patrick.

[02:31:35] Jason, uh, is it?

[02:31:36] No, it's not Jason Patrick.

[02:31:37] Is it?

[02:31:38] Oh no, it's not Jason Patrick.

[02:31:39] No.

[02:31:39] It's Robert Patrick.

[02:31:40] Robert Patrick.

[02:31:41] Oh yeah, Patrick Patrick.

[02:31:42] Robert Patrick, uh, playing that, playing his dad,

[02:31:46] the, uh, was it the Grand Dragon?

[02:31:48] Yeah, something like that.

[02:31:49] Yeah.

[02:31:51] Um, he plays the character so well.

[02:31:53] It's so believable.

[02:31:54] Um, and it's funny because peacemaker is such a,

[02:31:58] he's such an oblivious character.

[02:32:00] Like it's like one of those things where he doesn't agree

[02:32:03] with his dad, but at the same time,

[02:32:04] he's trying to gain his dad's favor.

[02:32:06] Mm hmm.

[02:32:07] But like he doesn't agree with like the way he does things

[02:32:09] and he just thinks that his dad's a patriot.

[02:32:11] Even though his dad is a racist prick.

[02:32:14] So it's great.

[02:32:15] He lives in the world.

[02:32:17] He gives you a gift.

[02:32:18] Greetings to, he always thinks he's doing the right thing.

[02:32:20] Yes.

[02:32:21] Even when he's doing the wrong thing.

[02:32:22] Yes.

[02:32:23] 100%.

[02:32:23] Uh, and then the cast of characters that are in the,

[02:32:27] in the show altogether are so good.

[02:32:30] There's the show is so well done and John Cena's performance

[02:32:35] between that and,

[02:32:37] um, what was the one where he plays the dad that goes to the,

[02:32:42] uh, to the parties?

[02:32:43] Oh, cock blockers.

[02:32:44] Cock blockers.

[02:32:45] Between, between peacemaker and cock blockers.

[02:32:49] It's like, no, John Cena is good.

[02:32:51] I'm willing to watch him act in anything just because.

[02:32:54] He was really good at jackpot.

[02:32:55] Yes.

[02:32:56] I do want to see him in Argyle.

[02:32:58] I saw him in Argyle.

[02:32:59] I liked him in Argyle as well.

[02:33:00] Yeah.

[02:33:01] Like, I wanted to see that.

[02:33:02] John is a decent actor.

[02:33:04] He's actually not, uh, he's not as bad as people were expecting

[02:33:07] him to be and I love him.

[02:33:10] He's just a noise.

[02:33:11] Yeah.

[02:33:11] But I think he does that on purpose.

[02:33:13] Yeah.

[02:33:13] He does that on purpose.

[02:33:15] He annoys me on purpose.

[02:33:16] Have you seen, have you seen his social media?

[02:33:19] Like how obscure his memes are?

[02:33:21] No, no, I haven't.

[02:33:21] I don't follow him on social media.

[02:33:23] He has the weirdest social media, but it's on purpose.

[02:33:26] Like he does.

[02:33:27] He doesn't want to be seen.

[02:33:28] Hence me not seeing.

[02:33:30] He actually does post like those kind of memes where I was

[02:33:33] in this picture and it's like, he's nowhere to be found in it.

[02:33:36] Yeah.

[02:33:37] Uh, or he'll do like stuff where he's just like making fun of

[02:33:40] people and like his social media is actually really funny.

[02:33:43] No, I, I, I have said, I said this.

[02:33:47] I, I typed it out and I sent it.

[02:33:49] Everybody saw it.

[02:33:51] I said, I like him and I like his movies.

[02:33:54] I am, I have changed my mind on that.

[02:33:57] I will never change my mind on Joker, but I have changed

[02:34:01] my mind on John Cena.

[02:34:03] I just have to get used to that he's going to play John Cena

[02:34:12] and everything.

[02:34:13] Uh, Destro said, uh, John Cena stopped wrestling.

[02:34:16] So he has plenty of time to make movies.

[02:34:19] He's a fish retiring.

[02:34:21] So 2025 he's going to be doing wrestling.

[02:34:23] Right?

[02:34:23] He's a fish retiring next year.

[02:34:25] He said WrestleMania next year is his last, uh, his final

[02:34:27] match.

[02:34:28] You, you just have to, for a wrestling reference, you just

[02:34:31] have to book him in like a Stallone movie where it's not

[02:34:35] about him and feelings.

[02:34:37] They wronged him somehow and he's got to go kill everybody.

[02:34:41] Just, you just give him that.

[02:34:42] He's done that.

[02:34:43] He's done a couple of those movies.

[02:34:44] So has any, yeah.

[02:34:45] That's what I'm saying.

[02:34:45] Um, what I need is for peacemaker to booth something

[02:34:49] this season.

[02:34:51] I, I just think that he should stick with comedy.

[02:34:53] I think he's a really good comedic actor.

[02:34:55] Right.

[02:34:56] That's what I'm saying.

[02:34:56] Just, yeah.

[02:34:57] I don't think that we can put him in steel Magnolia.

[02:35:01] What's the one where Tom Cruise was all crying and he has

[02:35:05] a feather behind his nose?

[02:35:06] Is it Magnolia?

[02:35:07] Don't get, don't give him Magnolia.

[02:35:08] Oh man.

[02:35:09] Yeah.

[02:35:09] Give him, you know, hip-hanger too.

[02:35:12] Here's the thing, right?

[02:35:13] And here's where, uh, where I don't believe putting

[02:35:17] him in a box is something that means anything is mainly

[02:35:21] because, yeah, fruitless aggression.

[02:35:23] Um, if you look at Dave Batista.

[02:35:26] Oh, yeah.

[02:35:27] Dave Batista is another dude that started off as, okay,

[02:35:31] let me do these comedic movies and then started doing

[02:35:33] more serious roles and show that he is a ridiculously

[02:35:37] amazing actor.

[02:35:38] Okay.

[02:35:39] You're going to not like me for this, but Dave Batista

[02:35:42] is a much better actor than John.

[02:35:44] Oh no, he is 100%.

[02:35:45] Dave Batista is a much better actor than, than,

[02:35:48] than John Cena is, but we, how do we know that?

[02:35:50] Descaros got it right there.

[02:35:51] He would make a great GI Joe character.

[02:35:53] Uh, I thought he was already in a GI Joe movie.

[02:35:55] Anyways.

[02:35:55] He was.

[02:35:56] Yeah.

[02:35:56] He was.

[02:35:57] Um, but I mean like with that being said, I think that

[02:36:01] what he needs to do to transition comedy is definitely

[02:36:05] his sweet spot.

[02:36:06] He's really good in comedies.

[02:36:08] Yeah.

[02:36:08] I think the next thing he needs to do is to, to see

[02:36:12] if he's worthy enough to do something more than

[02:36:14] just being comedies is do what Dave did and be a

[02:36:17] villain.

[02:36:17] Yeah.

[02:36:18] Or do you like how he did a knife out like the

[02:36:21] class onion thing?

[02:36:23] Where he's caught.

[02:36:24] He's still kind of the goofy guy, but he's also not.

[02:36:28] Yeah.

[02:36:28] He's also kind of an asshole.

[02:36:30] You know, just to kind of expand him a little bit more

[02:36:33] so that people will get used to him doing that.

[02:36:35] But I do think that he, he, he is a much stronger

[02:36:39] comedian than like Dave Batista.

[02:36:42] Batista was in South Langtales, right?

[02:36:45] Like, right?

[02:36:45] Yeah.

[02:36:45] South Langtale.

[02:36:46] Yeah.

[02:36:47] Where Dave proved that he can do stuff that's

[02:36:49] outside of comedy, the W podcast.

[02:36:52] Um, where he proved that he can do stuff outside of

[02:36:56] comedy is when Dave was in the James Bond movie.

[02:37:00] Yeah.

[02:37:01] No, he did really well.

[02:37:02] Oh, yeah.

[02:37:02] And he was a silent character.

[02:37:04] He did.

[02:37:04] He did know he didn't say anything, but he just

[02:37:07] like he was believable as being that dude that

[02:37:11] looked like he could kill anybody in the room.

[02:37:13] Well, that's still the same typecast though.

[02:37:15] No, it is.

[02:37:15] I haven't seen him in class onion.

[02:37:17] I want to see him in glass onion.

[02:37:18] He's really good in glass onion.

[02:37:19] But then the other, the other movie where I kind of

[02:37:22] saw him break out a little bit was, um, um,

[02:37:28] Oh, that Andy film.

[02:37:30] No, not the endy one.

[02:37:32] Um, oh, Blade Runner Blade Runner.

[02:37:34] Yeah.

[02:37:34] He was.

[02:37:35] Oh, okay.

[02:37:35] He was.

[02:37:35] And he had, he had a very short role in Blade Runner,

[02:37:38] but he did really good.

[02:37:40] He was very believable and convincing in that movie.

[02:37:42] Uh, and then of course, Dune, and he's just

[02:37:44] fucking dope and dude.

[02:37:45] Yeah.

[02:37:45] He is really getting.

[02:37:46] Yeah.

[02:37:46] I, I do.

[02:37:48] I mean, I will say, and I did say this to, to husband.

[02:37:52] I was like, I think Dave Batista is a much stronger dramatic

[02:37:55] actor and I think John Cena is a much stronger comedic actor.

[02:37:59] But again, we'd never seen John Cena outside of comedies

[02:38:02] and that's why I'm saying like there's a, there's a

[02:38:04] commitment to even there's not a lot of people that can

[02:38:08] pull off the, oh, you could see me like the fuck.

[02:38:12] What am I thinking of?

[02:38:13] Uh, Guardians.

[02:38:15] Bracks.

[02:38:16] But, you know, he was a fucking killer with him.

[02:38:18] I just, I'm a killer and like, you know, there was the,

[02:38:21] they killed my kids, my mom, like his mom, his wife,

[02:38:24] like he played that scene amazing and guys will always admit

[02:38:27] that shit when they're drunk and that's how he did it.

[02:38:30] Yeah.

[02:38:30] It was awesome.

[02:38:31] Uh, but the whole, oh, you can see me, I need to really

[02:38:35] play ships and like there's not a lot of people that

[02:38:38] could fucking pull that off with a straight face.

[02:38:41] And it was like so good.

[02:38:43] Yeah.

[02:38:43] But my movements are so slow that it's imperceptible.

[02:38:48] The naked eye.

[02:38:49] We can see him eating his art knife.

[02:38:51] Yeah, and he's like, Dracks will you just stop it?

[02:38:54] No, but it was just the way he did.

[02:38:55] He goes, damn it.

[02:38:56] Just like walks away.

[02:38:59] Yeah, because man just goes, hi Dracks.

[02:39:01] He's like, damn it.

[02:39:03] Esmael the man says, what character do you think

[02:39:05] Dave Patista could play in the DCU?

[02:39:07] There are so many I think that he'd be really good.

[02:39:10] I'd love to see him as a Kryptonian as like one of the like

[02:39:14] Zod he'd be a good Zod.

[02:39:16] I think he would be really skinny.

[02:39:18] He has got really skinny.

[02:39:19] He did that on purpose.

[02:39:21] He said he just stopped working out because he's tired of

[02:39:23] getting typecast as the big guy.

[02:39:25] He wants to play like more roles, which shows that he's serious.

[02:39:27] I saw like a comparison on the internet.

[02:39:30] I think it was, I can't remember if it's on Instagram or

[02:39:33] where it was, but that they were comparing him to Hugo Strange.

[02:39:37] I think he'd be really good as Hugo Strange.

[02:39:39] I could see him as a lot of that would be a good take on

[02:39:42] Hugo Strange.

[02:39:44] No, no, Specter.

[02:39:46] Yeah, that's true.

[02:39:46] I like the Specter Specter would go to and then also I would

[02:39:52] love to see him play like somebody like the question or

[02:39:55] something.

[02:39:55] Okay.

[02:39:56] So the thing about the question one, I think they're

[02:39:59] going to skip directly to Renee Montoya because she's

[02:40:03] got she's got a lot of momentum right now and I'm

[02:40:06] sure they're going to go right to Renee Montoya.

[02:40:08] But if you do the original version of, I don't know,

[02:40:12] I kind of want a redhead to play him.

[02:40:13] No, okay.

[02:40:14] Yeah, I can see that.

[02:40:15] You don't really have very many gingers that are like,

[02:40:17] you know, playing superheroes and the question is ginger.

[02:40:20] Yeah, that's true because Hush is a redhead but he's

[02:40:22] villain so yeah, that's true because it's such a

[02:40:26] shocking thing when he finally takes the mask off and

[02:40:28] he's a ginger.

[02:40:29] Yeah, just like what?

[02:40:32] Um, but I mean, I like that.

[02:40:34] I think he could, you know, the cock man.

[02:40:37] I think he really could be a really good Hawkman.

[02:40:40] Yeah.

[02:40:40] Yeah, I was like, but he would, he would be a really

[02:40:44] good Hawkman.

[02:40:44] He would be a really good Hawkman.

[02:40:46] Uh, I would give him it would kill Dwayne Johnson if

[02:40:50] they recast Black Adam and he was black.

[02:40:52] He would play a good Black Adam though.

[02:40:54] He would.

[02:40:55] Yeah.

[02:40:55] I think that, I mean, I think that we could probably

[02:40:59] give Dwayne another chance as Black Adam, but the

[02:41:02] thing is it needs to be done a little bit differently.

[02:41:04] Yeah, not so much show voting Dwayne.

[02:41:07] Yeah, he needs to be the, he needs to be like Dr.

[02:41:11] Doom and be the savior of Condoc.

[02:41:13] Yeah.

[02:41:14] And and also be a lot more like authoritarian and

[02:41:17] militaristic and he wasn't really that he was kind of

[02:41:20] dumb and just kind of, you know, went through his

[02:41:23] space.

[02:41:25] Um, anyways, um, but yeah, lots of lots of Dave

[02:41:28] Batista.

[02:41:29] He could play a lot of people.

[02:41:31] Exactly.

[02:41:33] Uh,

[02:41:35] he caught that one.

[02:41:36] He was like, I didn't see that coming.

[02:41:38] Uh, dead man.

[02:41:39] He would be a good dead man.

[02:41:40] Oh, dead man would be dope.

[02:41:42] Mm hmm.

[02:41:43] He would be cool as it was that Boston, uh, Boston

[02:41:46] brand Boston brand.

[02:41:48] Yeah, he would be cool.

[02:41:48] He'd be a cool Boston brand.

[02:41:50] Yeah, I could see that.

[02:41:52] I could also see him playing like, um, oh gosh,

[02:41:55] more like detectivey people.

[02:41:58] I could see that.

[02:41:59] I can't see anybody.

[02:42:00] Oh, if we didn't have a perfect Constantine,

[02:42:03] John Constantine are ready to have two of them.

[02:42:05] Um, I would say yet, I would say he might be good

[02:42:08] as John Constantine as well.

[02:42:09] I don't know if I'd want him as John Constantine.

[02:42:12] I thought of him as Midnight.

[02:42:14] Yes.

[02:42:15] Yes.

[02:42:16] Brother Midnight?

[02:42:16] Yeah.

[02:42:17] He could be a good brother Midnight.

[02:42:19] Mm hmm.

[02:42:19] Or, um,

[02:42:21] uh,

[02:42:24] Etrigan, Jason Blood.

[02:42:25] Oh dude, he would, he actually kind of looks like

[02:42:27] Jason Blood.

[02:42:28] Yeah, he could do Jason Blood and he, but he could

[02:42:31] also do, and he's got that like really grout.

[02:42:33] Grout the gravely voice to do Etrigan.

[02:42:35] Yeah, it would be really good.

[02:42:36] Yeah.

[02:42:36] That would be kind of cool to actually, because again,

[02:42:39] he kind of does look like, uh, especially like the

[02:42:41] pictures that you've been seeing him now lately.

[02:42:43] He kind of does look like he could pull off Jason Blood

[02:42:45] really well.

[02:42:46] Yeah.

[02:42:46] So see, he's just got so many possibilities.

[02:42:49] Mm hmm.

[02:42:49] Uh, well, the best of the possibilities that are out

[02:42:52] there of course is that, uh, like James Gunn and,

[02:42:56] uh, and, uh, the, the wonderful, wonderful

[02:43:00] John Constantine!

[02:43:04] And peacemaker.

[02:43:05] Uh, we have, uh, we have March People.

[02:43:11] That's the way you do it, right?

[02:43:12] That's seamless, seamless transition.

[02:43:15] There you go.

[02:43:17] The Boogie Down Bruh.

[02:43:18] Oh Solomon Grundy!

[02:43:19] Yeah, he would be real.

[02:43:20] Yeah, I would.

[02:43:21] Yeah, I could see that.

[02:43:22] I could see Solomon Grundy.

[02:43:24] Brother Contreras out here said,

[02:43:25] uh, shout out to everyone in the chat, including

[02:43:27] Distance Learning Podcasts.

[02:43:28] Keep up the good work on the channel.

[02:43:29] Appreciate it and shout out from the South Bronx

[02:43:32] for the BKL Contreras, a K sport,

[02:43:35] sport attainment guy.

[02:43:37] Oh, I did that.

[02:43:38] I like that.

[02:43:38] Awesome.

[02:43:39] I did this.

[02:43:40] Yo, uh, brother BKL.

[02:43:42] Let's talk man.

[02:43:43] Cause I, uh, sport attainment sounds fun.

[02:43:46] We might want to interview you on the show.

[02:43:48] My man.

[02:43:48] Yeah.

[02:43:49] Awesome.

[02:43:49] All right.

[02:43:49] Well, ladies and gentlemen, we got merch people.

[02:43:53] Uh, where's my thing right there?

[02:43:54] All right.

[02:43:56] We don't have hat, uh, but we got shirts.

[02:43:59] Uh, so you can get shirts, ladies and gentlemen.

[02:44:01] All you got to do is DM us or email us at Distance

[02:44:04] Nerdy, uh, emailing us at distancenerdy.

[02:44:06] At AOL.com.

[02:44:07] I'll bring that up in a little bit here.

[02:44:08] Uh, we'll get you your size.

[02:44:10] We'll get your shirt reserved $20 if you're local

[02:44:12] to the Sacramento, California area or $25.

[02:44:14] If we've got to ship it to you.

[02:44:16] Um, because I gotta pay for shipping.

[02:44:18] Uh, but yes, get your merch.

[02:44:20] Um, you know, we've got the shirts.

[02:44:22] Uh, now we have limited sizes on the black shirt.

[02:44:25] We're actually starting to run low on those,

[02:44:26] but we've got all sizes for the gray character shirt.

[02:44:29] And it's very true to fit and I love mine.

[02:44:32] Right.

[02:44:32] Oh, you guys, that's right.

[02:44:34] You're wearing your character shirt right now.

[02:44:35] Yeah, I'm wearing my character shirt.

[02:44:37] Uh, uh, dude, how did we not think of Dave Batista as Bain?

[02:44:41] He wants to play Bain.

[02:44:42] He already said he wants to play Bain.

[02:44:44] Oh, shit.

[02:44:44] That's amazing.

[02:44:45] I know.

[02:44:46] Sorry.

[02:44:46] He wants to play Bain, but the problem is now he's dropped

[02:44:49] all that weight.

[02:44:50] He'd have to put all that weight on.

[02:44:51] Yeah.

[02:44:52] And Bain isn't so like animated things.

[02:44:55] So many animated things right now.

[02:44:56] Like he's in Kite Man.

[02:44:57] He's in Harley.

[02:44:58] I would like, I would like somebody to bring him back to his

[02:45:02] actual form and be like a Cuban.

[02:45:05] Oh, you mean Bain?

[02:45:07] Yeah, definitely not that.

[02:45:09] No.

[02:45:10] Cause like, I liked him in the comics because he was so smart.

[02:45:15] Like he could outthink Batman as well as Break is that.

[02:45:18] And I think that's what Dave was saying is he wants to

[02:45:21] play the smarter version of Bain.

[02:45:22] He wants to play the version that outsmarts everybody

[02:45:24] who's up against him.

[02:45:25] Yeah.

[02:45:26] You know, the guy that it took as real to like brutally beat

[02:45:29] the shit out of him in order to stop him.

[02:45:32] Yeah.

[02:45:34] Ismael is saying you think Flash Wonder Woman and Green Lantern

[02:45:37] will get a trilogy in the DCU in the future.

[02:45:39] I don't know if they'll get a trilogy, but I do definitely

[02:45:42] want to see takes on in this universe for all of these

[02:45:45] characters.

[02:45:46] I definitely want to see more Wonder Woman.

[02:45:48] I want to see the Flash done right.

[02:45:50] I want to see Green Lantern done right because we haven't

[02:45:52] gotten a full on Green Lantern done correctly.

[02:45:54] I'd like to see, of course, I want a trilogy for Wonder Woman.

[02:45:58] I'm a huge Wonder Woman fan.

[02:46:00] You're a famous Wonder Woman fan.

[02:46:02] But as long as they're good stories, as long as they're

[02:46:05] solid stories and they help inform the character in some

[02:46:11] way and aren't just, oh, I'm a superhero and I'm going to

[02:46:14] do superhero things.

[02:46:15] As long as it actually has some heart to it, I'm so cool

[02:46:18] with having as many Flash movies, Wonder Woman movies

[02:46:22] and Green Lantern movies as you can pump out.

[02:46:25] What do you think, Ash?

[02:46:29] It really seems like studios are really seeing if stuff

[02:46:33] works to put out one.

[02:46:34] If it doesn't work, they just scrap everything no matter

[02:46:37] who it is like you might have four and it sucks for a

[02:46:40] person that's trying to put together because when they

[02:46:42] first talked to you, we need three movies and it's

[02:46:45] really hard to because the first one's got to be

[02:46:47] awesome.

[02:46:48] Obviously the second one's got it.

[02:46:49] It's really hard to put together something when you

[02:46:51] want it to be a full story in three movies.

[02:46:54] Does that make sense?

[02:46:55] Like, if it didn't make the 48 million that it's supposed

[02:47:00] to make or whatever, they seem to scrap everything.

[02:47:03] So I like the idea of and this is going to be my

[02:47:05] last thing on this because we do have to finish

[02:47:07] up but I do like the idea of doing continuing

[02:47:10] storylines through different movies or TV shows.

[02:47:14] I like the idea of actually doing the Marvel

[02:47:18] formula and not just making a bunch of movies and

[02:47:20] hoping they stick but telling character stories.

[02:47:24] I hate that DC felt felt that they didn't need to do

[02:47:27] that because we're going to be copying them and then

[02:47:30] they haven't found the formula equal to that.

[02:47:32] But that's what John is doing right now.

[02:47:34] Yeah.

[02:47:35] Yeah.

[02:47:35] Um, you know, I like the idea of doing a character

[02:47:38] centric story that is a part of a larger narrative.

[02:47:43] Marvel figured out that if we write our stories

[02:47:46] the way that they're written in the comic books

[02:47:48] people will come and watch them.

[02:47:50] Yes.

[02:47:50] And that's what they need to do is there is a larger

[02:47:53] narrative storyline happening and each store

[02:47:56] each movie we get is just a point in time for

[02:47:59] that specific character, right?

[02:48:01] So it's all about the world lore, baby.

[02:48:04] Right.

[02:48:04] And that's what I love about them saying the news

[02:48:07] that we had earlier Superman is going to take

[02:48:09] place in a already established already built universe

[02:48:12] and it is just a story about Superman.

[02:48:15] Yeah.

[02:48:15] That is Superman centric.

[02:48:17] That's why he's just throwing in all these characters.

[02:48:19] That's what we know.

[02:48:20] A guy gardener is going to be in there, which means

[02:48:22] that the Green Lanterns have been established for a while.

[02:48:25] Guy Gardner is the second Green Lantern.

[02:48:26] Yep.

[02:48:27] Right.

[02:48:27] So it means how Jordan already exists.

[02:48:29] That means we're already and if it's an established

[02:48:32] guy gardener, that means John Stewart's already on his way.

[02:48:34] Yeah.

[02:48:35] Right.

[02:48:35] So I mean like things like that, that makes me happy

[02:48:38] as a fan that we're in the middle of a storyline

[02:48:41] that's already there.

[02:48:42] The way that we know that you don't need to condesend

[02:48:44] to the people that are out there and you can just tell a story

[02:48:48] and people will learn as they go.

[02:48:50] Justice League Unlimited just shoehorned in a bunch of characters

[02:48:53] and you learned as you went.

[02:48:55] You know what I mean?

[02:48:56] Like it was like, you know, you didn't need to know

[02:48:58] who plastic man was, but there's a whole story on plastic

[02:49:01] man and it was great.

[02:49:02] You didn't need to know who, who Booster Gold was,

[02:49:05] but then you got a whole story of Booster Gold.

[02:49:08] You're like, oh man, I need to find out more.

[02:49:09] Let me go read the comics.

[02:49:10] Like I love the idea of doing it that way.

[02:49:13] Yeah.

[02:49:14] No, I agree.

[02:49:14] Right.

[02:49:15] I'm excited because his, his favorite Justice League run is

[02:49:21] I is a really fun Justice League run and I really love it.

[02:49:25] Kevin McGuire.

[02:49:27] He loved Kevin McGuire stuff anyway.

[02:49:29] So I'm super excited about that.

[02:49:32] We could get fire in our race, but anyway, I'm that's all

[02:49:35] I'm saying.

[02:49:36] Yeah.

[02:49:36] Yeah.

[02:49:36] So let's move on to our schedule.

[02:49:39] So our schedule, normal schedule here Monday game streams

[02:49:43] on Twitch from eight to 12.

[02:49:45] Now I didn't play one this week because I went to the,

[02:49:48] to the con over the weekend and I had to switch my days.

[02:49:51] So sorry guys did not play Star Wars Outlaws this week,

[02:49:54] but we will get back to that Tuesdays.

[02:49:56] The download the show you're watching right now.

[02:49:58] We went way over.

[02:49:59] We've been on good about being on time lately,

[02:50:01] but we had a lot to cover and we had, we had a promo

[02:50:05] at the beginning of the show.

[02:50:07] And then of course Thursday's the build.

[02:50:08] Now of course this week we're not doing the build because

[02:50:11] we are doing a con on Thursday, but next week we will be

[02:50:15] bringing back the build and continue the conquered jet

[02:50:20] that I've been building and our guest next week is a comic

[02:50:25] book creator named Brandon Ingram.

[02:50:27] We're going to be talking about his Kickstarter and

[02:50:30] his series The Gallows Man, which he describes as Adam,

[02:50:35] the Adam West Batman meets in glorious bastards.

[02:50:38] That's awesome.

[02:50:39] I know, right?

[02:50:40] Said it's a satire based on the golden age of superhero.

[02:50:43] So I'm kind of excited to read and get in on all this stuff,

[02:50:47] but that's going to be next week.

[02:50:50] Hold on.

[02:50:51] We've got some stuff going on here.

[02:50:53] Sounds interesting.

[02:50:54] I wrote down in the back of the year between superhero

[02:50:56] like Spider-Man, including Avengers.

[02:50:59] I thought they cast Tyrese is John Stuart.

[02:51:01] No, Tyrese wants to be John Stuart.

[02:51:03] No offense until I do it.

[02:51:05] So yes, ladies and gentlemen, that is our schedule.

[02:51:08] But again, our normal schedule Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays.

[02:51:13] So with that being said, it is time for plugables.

[02:51:17] So I'm going to bring in, I'm going to bring on the person

[02:51:22] who has the most gain for plugables, Ash.

[02:51:26] Plug all your stuff.

[02:51:27] So plug everything.

[02:51:28] Oh, my man.

[02:51:29] Okay.

[02:51:30] So comics, the comments podcast has turned to Saturdays at

[02:51:34] 2 30.

[02:51:35] We also do the corner on Mondays and that's more of a trivia

[02:51:40] show.

[02:51:41] The corner this Monday will be the last dragon trivia

[02:51:46] show after that, that's Winter Circle.

[02:51:49] And then after that's going to be Donnie Darko.

[02:51:51] So enough show now you can always find me at mom's

[02:51:54] dash in Instagram and just enjoy the day.

[02:51:58] Sorry, we went Lord of the Rings long literally Lord of

[02:52:02] the Rings long directors.

[02:52:04] We're we're we're almost we're almost Titanic long.

[02:52:08] All right.

[02:52:09] And he means that physically.

[02:52:12] Absolutely.

[02:52:13] Iceberg a boy and it's just as bad disappointment is what

[02:52:19] I'm saying disappointment.

[02:52:20] All right, Jen.

[02:52:21] Okay, so hey, I am Jen.

[02:52:44] And I also my son and I should do we do a show called

[02:52:49] classified or we take your favorite fandoms and we

[02:52:52] classify them and Dungeons and Dragons classes.

[02:52:54] We have a sister show called journals of the classes.

[02:52:57] We are going to be doing a second sister show called

[02:53:01] roles of the classes or no roles of the people.

[02:53:04] I don't know it.

[02:53:05] I can't remember the name of it should do with now it but

[02:53:08] we're doing that.

[02:53:09] It's going to be based on the races of the of D&D just

[02:53:13] like it's going to explain them basically so that way

[02:53:16] if you're new to D&D you can actually get more in-depth

[02:53:20] information about different characters that you might

[02:53:22] want to be or different species you might want to do.

[02:53:25] So yeah, that's me.

[02:53:26] All right.

[02:53:27] Well, I think I think I went over everything.

[02:53:30] I had no idea.
