[00:07:47] So, of course, March 4th, Daredevil Born Again on Disney Plus. That's coming up. Uh, March 13th is the Wheel of Time Prime Video. Uh, not season three. Uh, Sunday, April 13th. Did I say Thursday? Did I say the date? It's Tuesday, March 4th. Did I say Thursday? March 13th. Okay, never mind. Uh, Sunday, April 13th, The Last of Us premieres on HBO and Max. Mm-hmm.

[00:08:14] And Tuesday, April 22nd, Andor premieres on Disney Plus. Yeah, uh, they actually did say, uh, like, Disney made a big deal about this, that the first episode of Andor is the last episode of Daredevil. Yeah. Uh, so they're both premiering on the same day. Yeah. So they're in the same universe? That's cool. No, it's just, uh. First ever crossover. Yeah, no, they're, they're going from, from Daredevil right into Andor. So they're like trying to keep people on Disney Plus. Nice.

[00:08:43] Dude, did you guys see that Andor trailer? It's really good. I haven't even seen it. I didn't even know they dropped the trailer. Okay, I'm watching it after the show. With that, with that soundtrack? That soundtrack is a very different energy. So I said that the season one was like, um, what did I say it was to do? We talked about this yesterday. Uh, you said it was rock and roll. I said season two was rock and roll. Oh, no, you said season one was like punky, something like that? Was like folk music? Yeah. No, it was like, yeah, it was like punk.

[00:09:11] It was like your, well, season one was like the punk scene, whereas season two is like the 70s rock and roll scene. That's the feeling I get just from that trailer with that music. It gives a much more spy thriller feel to it, which I like. Which is kind of what we need leading into. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah, I think that I'm really excited about Daredevil born again.

[00:09:38] I've been watching some of the interviews that Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio and all of them have been doing leading up to it. But they're very excited about it. And of course, I'm super excited about Wheel of Time. I'm good. I'm rereading the up to book five just to kind of reorient myself to what could be happening. And also so I don't accidentally spoil things for people that haven't read all the books.

[00:10:07] And Last of Us is just going to be so awesome. Right. And I do know they said that they and we've talked about this on the show multiple times, but just a reminder, they are breaking the second game up into two seasons just because the amount of content that's in that game. So yeah. Yeah. Well, yeah. They said they think it's going to be four seasons. Didn't we report that a couple weeks ago? So that tracks. But yeah. So that's what's coming out. A new rumor claims that Nolan was hoping to reunite with his Oppenheimer Best Supporting Actor Oscar winner Robert Downey Jr. For the film as well, Nolan was courting RDJ for the role of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea, and horses for no apparent reason.

[00:12:03] But the actor was going to be too busy filming Avengers Doomsday and couldn't make it work. The epic journey begins July 17th, 2026. Taco's on the table. Who would you cast as Poseidon in the Odyssey? Jason Momoa. I was going to say Jason Momoa. Yes. I was going to say Jason Momoa. There you go. Was that three of us that were going to say Jason Momoa? What about the other people on that Snowpiercer train? Like trying to get away from the apocalypse? And they're like, oh, we made it. We're part of the new civilization. And then they look next to him and Sean Bean is sitting there.

[00:14:52] So Rocksteady Studios, which is best known for giving us the Batman Arkham series, is rumored to be working on a new game inspired by the animated classic and animated series Batman Beyond as a PlayStation exclusive. So kiss my ass, Sony. The game is set to take – and kiss my ass in multiple ways, right? Fuck Sony for the Spider-Man shit and now fuck Sony for this. The game is easy. Fuck Sony and fuck Sony. Yeah, fuck Sony and its ass. The game is set –

[00:15:21] We're at our fuck limit, guys. All right? Hey, hey, calm the fuck down. The game is set to take inspiration from the Batman Beyond series that won't adopt its animation – but it won't adopt its animation style. Instead, elements from the show's storyline could be expanded upon to craft a unique experience. So talk is on the table. Will I buy a PlayStation for the game or is it beyond my wallet? So you think it's going to be five? You don't think they're going to like, yeah, they want backward at it.

[00:16:17] Probably not. Backward compatible with the PlayStation 5. That's stupid. And then now they're already talking about the PlayStation 6, which is not going to be backwards compatible. You sound like a hater right now. Yeah, I am a hater because you know why? Because my Xbox Series X, I can play games from fucking Xbox on there, from the original Xbox on that. Yeah. Oh, mine has a CD player. I can play Creed on mine. I got a Nickelback CD I can play. It actually is the only CD player I have left in my house. So if I want to listen to CDs, I got to put it on my PlayStation.

[00:17:11] And with them, you know, if Rocksteady does this and they make it a PlayStation exclusive, like, I almost feel like I'm never going to play a Rocksteady game again. Oh, no. The love affair between you and Rocksteady hinges on this. It's no longer Rocksteady. Hey, if you want to be a cool kid, a cool nerd, you got to hang and get a PlayStation 5, just like our good friend Matt Aguilar, the swagular in the chat. He's a Sony guy.

The thing is, is that I, it's with the way that Sony does their thing, like just in general, the way they market and the way that they force you to get, you know, new hardware just to play a new game. Right. Whereas, again, I've got the Xbox Series X and it's pretty much backwards compatible with anything.

[00:18:06] I can take anything from Xbox One and put it in here and it plays natively because it's the same operating system. Yeah. And then I can put 360 and Xbox games in here and I can still play them. Yeah. Hey, you know, they're not making money on any of these Spider-Man offshoot movies like Craven the Hunter. Okay. So they got to make their money somewhere. Yeah. And they just screw up. They screw over gamers as much as possible. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. It's going to have a free Madam Web game that you can download right away.

[00:18:36] But it's going to be like a mobile game. And say, well, say, well, it's going to be Morbius two. They're doing it in game format. It's going to be called Morbius two. It's Mormon time. All right. Ladies and gentlemen, let's move on to the next story here. I can fix her. Luke Skywalker. For years, Star Wars fans have been wondering if we'd ever see the live action debut of Mara Jade, one of the franchise's fan favorite Legends characters. The studio might be developing a Star Wars TV series centered around Mara Jade.

[00:19:06] While details are scarce, it's safe to assume that much of our history with Luke Skywalker will be altered, especially since their marriage is no longer canon, thanks to the sequel trilogy. It's also rumored that Zendaya is reportedly being considered for a Star Wars role, though it's unclear if it's for Mara Jade. With Dave Flordy's upcoming Star Wars film rumored to be titled Heir to the Empire, it's possible she could factor into that story. So, tacos on the table, how do you see Mara Jade fitting into the Disney Plus Star Wars mythos?

[00:19:34] I mean, yeah, let's bring her. Tacos, table, slamming them down. I like this. Okay, so I'm a big fan of Mara Jade. I like Mara Jade's original story. But the thing is, is that if you take Mara Jade in Legends the way she is, she does not pass the Bechdel test at all. Because her entire existence is based on being a love interest for Luke Skywalker.

[00:19:58] If you introduce her as a character on her own, with all the badass elements to her being the hand of the Emperor and her being this like sick ass Sith assassin, and you do not link her at first. You don't link her as a love interest character. And she is just a pure self-ambition character. Like her, everything is self-ambition for her. Like have her be a character that passed the Bechdel test and then fuck it up later. Yeah. Okay. Yeah.

[00:20:28] You know, have her be a character that does not, her existence doesn't rely on Luke Skywalker. Right. Yeah. I really thought that they were kind of taking a direction where Shin from Ahsoka, that she was kind of going to be the Mara Jade equivalent in the way. Yeah. You know, and I kind of saw that too. I kind of saw like, okay, well then maybe they're going that direction with Shin Hati. Obviously, if they're going to be doing Mara Jade as her own character, then they probably aren't going to go the route of Shin Hati.

[00:20:57] But I mean, like Shin Hati is a good character on her own too. Right. Exactly. Yeah. So yeah. So no, I'm, yeah, I'm into this. If they, if they want to do it, I'm, I'm in. Yeah. And I see Starks comic vault saying that she agrees. Yeah. Yeah. Have Mara Jade be a character that passes the Bechdel test on her own. And then you can have Luke Skywalker be her love interest for a little bit, but it doesn't have to be the marriage like it was obviously because they changed the canon, right? She could just be kind of like a part of his past, but they just didn't work out because

[00:21:26] she wanted, she had too much ambition. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I would like to see a story arc though, where they have Luke turned to the dark side, like they do in Legends and then him pull himself back out into the, in becoming a light side character. So Mara Jade has a big part to play in that. So, I mean, yeah, it could be a story about kind of temptation and his own, uh, like his

[00:21:52] own insecurities and like how he kind of learns that lesson of the Jedi where it's the whole, okay, why was attachment a taboo? Right. So it could be something along those lines, but also kind of overcoming that more and be like, wait, hold on. So no, it'd be good. So yeah, no, I, yeah, I'd be into this. Um, my, uh, what do I do here? You need to come up with the tacos before. Yeah. I do. No, no, I do. No, no, I do. Uh, sheds purple, uh, tacos with red hair on them from the side. Sure.

Somehow she'll return. According to a new report, Kathleen Kennedy has informed associates of her plans to retire by the end of this year.

[00:23:22] If the rumor is true, it marks the end of a major era for Star Wars and Lucasfilm as a whole. If Kennedy does actually retire in 2025, it will close a significant chapter for Lucasfilm. The big question is who will take the reins next? And what does the future of Star Wars and Lucasfilm in general look like under new leadership? So, tacos on the table. If she's stepping down, is this good for Lucasfilm? I don't know. She's had a hit or miss in Star Wars. Yeah. Yeah. Because the sequels were something that she kind of like had, had a part in, but at the

[00:23:51] same time, she's also the one that put Filoni in charge. Right. Exactly. Like, you know, a lot of people pile hate on her and the grand majority of it is sexism. Really? Yeah. No, it is. It is. There's a lot of, a lot of the hate towards Kathleen Kennedy is unfounded. Oh yeah. And the thing is, is that I know there's going to be some, that's controversial to say. There's going to be people in the chat that are going to be like, no, Kathleen Kennedy's the worst. And no, it's sexism. It is. It's just a lot of people don't like that a woman is in charge because the whole thing is she's been in charge.

[00:24:20] She's been involved with Star Wars since the original trilogy. Yeah. She has been responsible for some of the biggest and most successful franchises to ever exist. Indiana Jones being one of those. Yeah. We have a little thing down here that's like, yeah, it's, you know, we have Indiana Jones, E.T., Back to the Future, Goonies, you know, like all of this. Right. Yeah. Classic Clark. Like, yeah, this is so, no, she's, she's done great work. I, I don't know. I, yeah.

[00:24:48] I mean, I have very mixed feelings about her, but I think. Do you think her style of movie making though? Like how, like, do you think that it's evolved past her though? I mean, is that something too? Or is it just kind of originate in that era where it was less cinematic universe, more like we have standalones or we have like trilogies or whatever. Yeah. And I think we have kind of gotten to a different place with, okay, now everybody wants a cinematic universe. Now everybody wants like a big, you know, big budget blockbuster thing.

[00:25:18] I feel like that's a different kind of storytelling. I, I, yeah, I do wonder if maybe she's kind of stepping down specifically to facilitate kind of that evolution. So I don't know. Um, like, like I mentioned, uh, Kathleen Kennedy is much more capable and is, has done so much in her career. Uh, again, I, I feel like a lot of the, um, arguments that people have are very, very unfounded.

[00:25:47] Uh, and they put the blame on her for things that are actually fucking Bob Iger. Exactly. Which, yeah, that's, you have to remember. Yeah. So, I mean, again, everybody complains about, um, rise of Skywalker. Everybody always has the complaints about rise of Skywalker. Right. That's all the thing is, is that rise of Skywalker. The reason that we got what we got was not because of Kathleen Kennedy was because of Bob Iger. Right. That's where you had to realize if you look at something, it's like, oh, this is a really poor creative vision or something.

[00:26:13] A lot of the time that's coming from higher up rather than kind of on the level of the actual studio. So, yeah. Anyway, my tacos with extensive filmography are on the table. Mmm. Taste of cellophane. Taste of nepotism. Ah, uh, no, we are not saying bad stuff about Lindsay Lohan. We're not. You know, there have been a lot of fire crotches out there, not just Lindsay Lohan. [00:27:39] yeah it is nuts yeah yeah oh yeah talking about she yeah raiders of the lost ark et back to the future she's part of all of that all of it and it's crazy that we were talking about like she has the track record it's it's and a lot of the blame uh what i was just mentioning right now a lot of the blame that that that she gets is for moves that bob eiger makes so if bob eiger makes a decision in star wars that has ripple effect then everybody blames kathleen kennedy and a lot of that is

[00:28:06] because they want to blame the woman uh yeah and it's it's bullshit you know but i mean like well i mean being the head of lucas film you kind of have to get ready to take that but you got to look at the good stuff she's done too for for star wars too like oh yeah we're getting the sequel trilogy back i was saying mando i was saying philone she she's the reason philone is there yeah exactly you know she's the reason philone is the head of of star wars right now is because of her that was her

[00:28:32] decision brought it brought in uh favro i mean on top of that she helped facilitate you know galaxy's edge going into disneyland and disney world yeah the mandalorian you know yeah skeleton crew and or these are all things yeah but no we we we should be moving on babu frick that's all her yeah i was talking i was talking to someone that that were like they're like no squeezy baby

[00:29:54] the prequel trilogy um i i feel like he's already doing that for the sequel trilogy as much as everybody is hating on the sequel trilogy and they're just like oh everything sucks and then they can't do anything on this oh i can't wait to see what philone does if you if you're not paying attention then you don't see that he's already making moves for the sequel trilogy so yeah uh again last points he um if you know palpatine's story in uh shadows of the force uh palpatine the the way

[00:30:21] he that what he actually learned from plagues was essence transfer so what he does is he takes his for lack of a better uh term he takes his soul and transfers it into a clone yeah exactly and he has cloning facilities so that he can just have clones of his body with no life force so that he can transfer his soul into these bodies and that's how he lives forever right yeah well when you get

[00:30:45] episode nine and you see he just shows up out of nowhere and he's in a cloning facility but they don't explain everything that's what feloni's doing right now because if you look at what's going on in the mandalorian if you look at what's going on and everything on there right in bad batch or whatever bad batch everything is leading to cloning technology and why they're leading into cloning and and uh you look at like you know what uh moff gideon is doing and all of the the clone experiments and everything

[00:43:43] ronald gladden and his journey as a juror during a trial that gets increasingly more dysfunctional and bonkers until it's finally revealed that the entire cast is fake and everyone besides him is a paid actor no date when jury duty will be back in session okay so this i had questions and this actually does um it clears up some of it i'm glad they're not doing it in a courtroom again because i was like how are they

[00:44:11] gonna pull it off people for yeah because like i feel like they caught lightning in a bottle and i really think ronald was the thing that made the show so being that they're gonna do it in like a as a retreat and stuff um i think that's gonna be better and i you know i just hope they don't get some sort of dickhead and because i don't think it's gonna be as good of a show i think the reason it was

[00:44:35] so good is because he was like he was so like oh i'll help you guys yeah sure i'm into it super nice yeah and just go with the flow yeah yeah if you don't get a super nice gullible person then it's gonna be like the good place every single episode it's gonna be like we're in the bad place yeah i totally agree i totally agree he was super funny in it though like just and watching all the actors play off of him and what he does oh it's so good and then seeing like behind the scenes they're like

[00:47:26] bond was the reason they bought mgm yeah yeah all right exactly yeah so you know like the whole thing is they've been trying to get the rights to bond forever uh and they finally found the price for barbara broccoli and michael g wilson uh and that was a billion dollars so let's just show proof that anyone can be purchased uh they've been trying to buy a bond they've been trying to buy a bond uh the other thing on this too is uh what this means for the future is that now amazon can do uh unnecessary

[00:47:55] tv shows and do a whole bunch of movies and saturate the market with james bond are we gonna get 001 002 003 004 005 006 008 009 my issue with my issue with what amazon might do here is when i say they're gonna what i say is when they saturate the market meaning that they are gonna put so much james bond content out there some of it may not be up to the standard that

[00:48:24] barbara broccoli and michael g wilson have kept it at for the last you know forever um which means we we might get some shitty bond product out there we might get uh stuff that amazon just kind of like puts out there and you know throw spaghetti at the wall rather than it being something that is worthy of the legacy of james bond that's a little negative it is i'm sorry look at the glass half full i'm saying that's what scares me you know the thing is

[00:48:52] is what i do want half full what yeah the martini half full what i do want out of this what i would like to see out of this uh if they do do a tv show i would rather there be a tv show about uh what's the organization that bond fights dr claw no there's a secret organization oh what is that there's a secret organization that ties all the villains in every bond movie together yeah oh hi

[00:49:16] about that i like i would like to see a show about them and kind of their inner workings um i would like to see if they do make bond movies uh i would like them to not put out a shit ton of bond movies i want them to put out movies that are still the same um quality as the ones that they've been putting out uh and then have tv shows that bridge events okay i don't know that's a little negative i think

[00:49:42] they're they're not gonna ruin this franchise just to try to make a dollar they're not sony you know what i mean look at what they're doing with with lord of the rings and rings of power look what they're doing with reacher or wheel of time they're taking ip they're taking ip and doing a specter yes specter they're doing a really good job with their ip and curating it and making sure it's

[00:50:06] quality content you know we didn't know about reacher you know moving into this show all of a sudden like this is one of the best shows out there right yeah i i'm okay with amazon taking over this i again my my whole thing is and i know this is probably one of the most negative things that i've ever like said i'm usually about everything right um but it's just what what i'm afraid of is that they they they flood us with quantity rather than quality and i and i hope that amazon focuses on

[00:50:36] quality over quantity i don't want more bond i want quality mod right exactly i i agree um there is something i'm gonna do this really really quickly and we'll move on uh in i don't remember pretty soon the copyright for the original book the original bond book by egan fleming runs out which means we're going to get a lot more bond stuff from other people too because they can just take that

[00:51:02] original version of the character from the book rather than the movie version so are you talking about like it's going to go into public domain it's going to go in public domain oh okay so it's going to be something like steamboat willie or whatever where it kind of we're going to have a lot more of a diversity of bond stories as well fairly soon yeah so that's also something to keep i wouldn't mind seeing like if they are going to do side characters i wouldn't mind seeing some of the other like

[01:17:12] she was one of those characters that kind of fell on the wayside for a little bit in the comics and then when they finally did this alternate universe and she was spider woman and peter dies in her universe and she becomes this kind of just badass character it's like you know we need more of that and then they elevated her in um in the spider-verse movies uh and it's like i need more more gwen stacy

[01:17:36] like give us more of that hero because she she has so much more connectability and resonance than than jessica drew does and i love jessica drew don't get me wrong she's an amazing character but i feel like kids and people relate to gwen stacy the same way that a lot of kids relate to peter parker and miles morales yeah yeah completely agree yeah and i mean being that she was the first

[01:18:00] uh girlfriend to get bridged i mean it's cool yeah yeah i actually really like when stacy and i i really my love for her actually really deepened after they did the whole spider spider gwen go spider whatever spider woman whatever they're calling her these days um i do think it's interesting yeah they're doing they're going more the route of spider woman just because they felt that it was derivative to call her spider gwen yeah even though yeah gwen stacy is also deadpool in another universe

[01:18:30] and she's gwen pool but i mean like yeah i i feel like that's fine because it's defining that it's gwen stacy but i mean like i do understand when they say because in her universe she's not going to call herself spider gwen she's going to call herself spider woman so it makes sense yeah yeah yeah or ghost spider but you know what i like ghost spider better but i also really love jessica drew a spider woman so it's like i just loved her and i loved playing her in all the games and stuff she

[01:22:55] character his superpower is he can take appendages from other people and attach them to himself to like you know like uh replace his appendages and if he takes an appendage from a superhero he takes their power oh that's cool that's kind of like a composite superman it's like a gross rogue right it really is uh so so i feel like terror and the other thing is is um he so the character's name is terror uh and yeah the whole thing is supposed to be he's also like uh he also like

[01:23:24] films like his own tv show yeah so like it this could have been like a really good uh horror series um and i mean they're probably just like okay we can't get this done by halloween so let's push it back another year yeah right because it's definitely something that needs to come out around halloween with the way that this premise of this character goes yeah and the crazy thing is he's described as a superhero so it's like that's creepy huh he's not he's not a villain he's considered a hero

[01:23:53] yeah i'm okay i'm okay with all this being pushed back as long as we still get good quality content like take your time with it i get it like i think everybody jumped on the whole uh nova conversation real quick but i think this is marvel's way of being like all right everybody let's let's kind of pause you know like concentrate on what we have everybody chill it down chill down also concentrate on what we have coming versus what we might have coming right also i mean

[01:25:17] mean he's really the dark phoenix probably not uh daredevil born again hasn't even aired yet but marvel studios is already banking on it being a major fixture and on of disney plus the series has officially secured a second season before season one is even debuted marvel has bigger plans beyond that brad wunderbaum marvel studios head of streaming revealed that they're looking to make daredevil born again a long-term annual event that is the plan season two will come out next year and then

[01:25:46] hopefully season three and season infinity after all that i'm okay with season infinity i will watch that as many times as we need to i think this world is extremely rich and there are many stories to be told on the streets of new york it is 100 multi-season show daredevil born again season one goes back into the dis into the devil's gastronomy lab on march 4th uh i i'm very excited for this again um there's a lot of talk about like you know reshoots and then rewriting and all that thing and

[01:26:14] all that right there uh disney their their reshoots are usually never a bad thing it usually is adding context like oh we need to add this or you know now that we see how this is working we should add this scene in and things like that so i don't have a problem with that they did rewrite from the beginning but i think all that was because they were trying to go family friendly and realized they can go full-on r-rated netflix and said okay release the hounds we are going to do what the fans want when it comes

[01:26:41] to this right exactly um and then you know as of people saying well they're compensating because it's supposed to be the most violent show i think that's just a natural evolution if they're picking up from where the show left off yeah definitely yeah you know uh yes i mean especially if they are picking up from where it left off that makes 100 sense that it's going to be uh up a level in in in the violence um especially because they have you know bigger budgets and a different creative uh

[01:27:10] or kind of like a different creative venture that's allowing them to do more so uh i'm i'm excited for this uh daredevil is definitely something i've i've been wanting another season we're getting essentially another season of daredevil based on the four seasons we got on netflix and i'm happy for this yeah and seeing the success of of like you know x-men 97 and all of that it seems like them bringing back older series is is a good move so agreed absolutely absolutely yep i'm excited yeah

[01:28:08] galaxy holiday special in november of 2022 both delivered standalone self-contained stories making this format a perfect fit for castle's next violent and blood-soaked mission plot details for the punisher special are still under wraps but fans will be able to see bernthal back in action when daredevil born again premieres on march 4th which we were just talking about a second ago uh again

[01:43:58] uh and you're able to watch it on chrome we can we can do this so uh again a lot of fun uh come and hang out with us on mondays i've been back on the game streams uh i am currently playing indiana jones and the great circle uh so i was basically beating up nazis for the majority of the game uh i got out of egypt and i am now in uh at the time because the game takes place in the 30s it's siam but cambodia basically so at least you're not calling it jakarta yeah yep

[01:44:32] and phil has commercials oh that's right so because i have uh i'm too broke to not have the cheap version of disney plus i have commercials on my disney plus so so what it does is for all of you who don't have ads on your disney plus uh basically it just loops the uh uh the scene that that my ads start on until the ads finish oh that's funny that's funny that's what we can't like fast forward through them or

[01:45:00] anything ads no it's forced because you have to watch the ads no like fast forward to the ads watch the ads and then watch it so that it skips them no i won't let you do that amazon prime does that like you can go through because i did a watch along for wheel of time i re-watched uh season one with a with a wheel of time podcast and uh somebody gave me that tip for amazon prime and i was like oh hey that's kind of cool so yeah disney plus won't do that of course not because the mouse likes the money
