[00:00:00] Warning, this chapter of Distance Nerding was recorded live which means there may be strong language, unsuitable for children and unusual humor which may be unsuitable for everyone who claims to be human. Parental discretion is advised. We waited all this time for that. Yep. I actually wasn't ready. And nerding at aworld.com
[00:00:38] Distance Nerding. I'm in a hotel room so I can go get some loud. Hey! What's up everybody? Coming to you live from not in my studio. It is Taco Tuesday. You guys know what that means. You are now experiencing Distance Nerding. Out of the Comic Con Radio Podcast family.
[00:01:06] She's our Tulsa Queen King. I mean, King Queen. It's Jennifer Ray Comics. He already has front row tickets for Coco's too. And he's Wile E. Coyote's defense attorney. It's Young Phil and we are here to nerd together. We're talking about anything. Pop culture, news, movies, food, music, wrestling, comics, comic cons, lots of comic cons.
[00:01:34] Whatever you're nerding out on, we want to talk about it. Of course, guys, you can follow us on all the places. You know, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch threads, Blue Sky Discord. Of course, all of our YouTubers out there. Hit the like button. Hit the subscribe button. Really helps us out, guys. Listen on your favorite podcast app. Leave us a review. Tell us how much you love us. Or I guess, yeah, you know, remember to leave five stars because it really does help, guys. We're on all the places at distance learning course. You can email us at your email of choice.
[00:02:04] If that choice is one thing. Dist. I think we should just skip this one because I mean, we went on really long before the show. And snerting at AOL.com and we will read it live on air. So with that being said, I'm just going to be real. I didn't even start the recording. But we're streaming. So that's good. I'm going to pull out from that later. Okay. Hey, everybody. So the intro is definitely going to sound different from the rest of the show.
[00:02:34] That's funny. Come on. It's fine. It's fine. It's okay. It's all right. So on deck, we've got the Geekend update. Oh, wait a minute. Hold on. Ladies, I know you're jumping right into it. But ladies and gentlemen, you are now watching the best kept secret on the internet because right now it is still a secret. Ladies and gentlemen, you are now watching the download.
[00:03:08] So Jen, now you can go. Now I can say it. Now you can say what's on deck. And on deck, the Geekend update. We're geeking. We're freaking. We're DeLongin. We're famine. We got a movie premiere and we got cons to cover. What we're watching. Devils, witches, muscle do-gooders, and a lot, lot more. That, okay. I don't know. Yeah. Start rumors. Is there enough room in this show for two buffies? Hold on. There's only one buffy and not buffy.
[00:03:38] It's me. I mean, it's the down low. Is the pink ranger the newest Disney princess? Guess what? According to the internet, she just might be. But of course, before we get into all of that. I'm like, I finished. I'm done. I did my part. Before we get into all that, of course, ladies and gentlemen. First. Let me get a shout out. Ladies and gentlemen, this show is brought to you by the good folks at Debbie.
[00:04:08] I hit the button before I was ready to say it. So I was like, oh, I got to cut that off. Debbie is a brand of energy drinks created to help focus concentration and reaction time with no jitters or crash. Debbie contains no meltodextrin, no sugar, no fillers, no artificial colors or dyes. [00:04:39] The dubs. And it'll do all the things that he just said it's supposed to do. I have not had any. Can you tell? I don't have any with me, so I can't really drink any. But next slide. I was waiting for you to start talking so I can bring the slide up. Distance Nerding is on Comic-Con radio. Find Distance Nerding in our second show, a common conversation on Comic-Con-radio.com
[00:05:07] slash podcast or check our podcast feed on Spotify or any podcast platform. That's right. So, ladies and gentlemen, let's jump right into this. And yeah, let's jump right into it, ladies and gentlemen. It's time for the Geek End update. I see because now my voice is a little strange.
[00:05:36] Oh, yeah. Let's get ready to talk some set Comic-Con real quick. Young Phil, go send a invite link to Frank. Okay. So he can jump on. We can talk about some movie stuff. But let's talk about set Comic-Con that was March 22nd, 23rd here in Sacramento featured Ming-Na Wen, Ernie Reyes, Jr., Alan Davis, Brandon McKinney, good friend of the show. It was, looked like a really good show. There's a lot of people there.
[00:06:05] I think we have a guest to talk about it. That's right. Hey! Welcome, Jeff DeLong from DeLong Fam Cosplay. How are you, sir? Good. Good. You good? How are you feeling? So this weekend, I only went Saturday. So it was a two-day con. There was a whole other day. And apparently two after parties on Saturday. But, so we, there was John Young Bosch there.
[00:06:35] There was lots of, all the turtles were there. The voice actors were the live action. And Shredder. So there was lots of good celebrities there. Um, also Mulan's voice actor was there. Oh, wow. It was a fun show. We actually, while we were walking around, we actually have somebody come up to us and recognized us from Weekend Blender last, or the weekend before. Nice.
[00:07:02] And was like, do you know where the guys with the powder drink are? Because there was someone actually looking for you guys there. That's so funny. Yeah, we weren't there. Sorry, guys. Oops. You didn't pull it out of your like Jawa, you know, pouch or something. You didn't have that ready. I was good. Oh, that's fine. That was a good show. Although we are working on Jawa stuff. Speaking of, I did speak to a Jawa. Do you see my text earlier?
[00:07:31] I don't know if you saw my text. It might not have went through. No, I missed it. All right. There was a Jawa. I may be interested in seeing what your Jawas are about. Just saying. Anyway, going back to it. SAC Comic Con. So it sounds like it was a good show. There's a lot of people there. It was at the safe credit union. Yeah. Down in downtown. Same spot as summer and winter. Same people. Very nice. Very nice. What was your, what was your favorite part of the con?
[00:08:01] Well, we got to see a bunch of our friends that we get to see when we ever, we got to the show. Elder was there. Sack was there and a handful of other friends who were there as well. There was some really good costumes out there. The last two slides, the Leonardo and the Raphael. Those were just people's costumes. Those weren't part of the show. Oh, so there was people really dressed as Ninja Turtles that were there. Turtle cosplayers are always dope. Who's who's dope? There was some solid costumes there.
[00:08:31] That's awesome. I was saying turtle cosplayers are always, always dope. Yeah, that is true. That is true. So Sandra in the chat, I don't know if you know Sandra, shout out to Sandra. She's a big fan of yours, but she said seeing Johnny Young Bosch again, who was a Power Ranger, right? I think he was a Red Ranger. Yes, he was the second Black Ranger for Mighty Morphin. Oh, Black Ranger. He was a frog. Oh, a frog. Very nice. Okay. So did you guys get to meet him?
[00:09:00] Was he super nice? Yeah, he's always a super cool guy. This is like, he does that show a lot. Boss is also in almost every anime ever. He's like his stuff goes all the way back to Akira. So he's been in like everything. So that's awesome. That's awesome. And Sandra's also saying that SAC geeks were there. You guys get to do SAC geeks. Where's Sandra?
[00:09:29] She's not here to talk about SAC geeks. That's her job, right? She has to talk about SAC geeks on a weekly basis. She's in the other one. Well, she needs to put her chonglas on her feet. You're SAC geeks too. Come talk about SAC geeks. You're SAC geeks too. What was that? You're SAC geeks. Why don't you talk about it? Because she was there. That's the whole point. We're going to talk about the Mad Hatter thing coming up. We're going to talk about Frisco. So she wants to come on board. That would be great. Ah, you angered her. What?
[00:09:58] She's been in with the chongla. In hand. In hand. I like it. So I was talking to Jeff. We were talking about the con, but tell us about SAC geeks being there. Well, you should too. I mean, you were supposed to be. Well, we're here to talk to the audience. So let's tell the audience what it was like for SAC geeks. Well, yeah, I was there helping out SAC geeks. We were promoting the, sorry, Madame of Bess, running across the house. The birthday tea party, which we'll be having next month.
[00:10:28] Very cool. Here in Sacramento. Awesome. That looks really cool. I've seen some stuff about that on Instagram. So you guys were getting the word out there. Awesome. Yeah. It looks like it's going to be a real fun event. Frisco. Shout out to Frisco. He's part of SAC geeks. He's doing some incredible work. I think he was dressed as the Mad Hatter, right? He's doing, what was that? No, he was the March hair. Ah, okay. Okay. Very cool. So what else did you like about the show?
[00:10:57] Well, it is a lot smaller than SAC anime. So you get to be able to walk around a lot more and get to see more stuff. So I like that. And, um, well, for me, as soon as we got in, we beelined it for Johnny Young Rush. Obviously he does so many voices that everyone wants to see him. So I went there as soon as we could. So I can meet him again for technically the second time, but I had to meet him again. Oh, that's cool. Did you guys get to see Ming-Na Wen? No, her line was super long.
[00:11:27] So it was like, it wrapped around pretty much the whole outside of the building. So yeah, unless you wanted to dedicate like a few hours to waiting, um, that was pretty much it. You waited or you carried on with your day. Yeah. Speaking of SAC geeks, I saw that, um, they got an autograph, you know, again, Psychics is a nonprofit.
[00:11:52] They got an autograph from Ming-Na Wen that they were, I think they sold it or raffled it off or something like that. And it looked super cool. I, and Ming-Na Wen, you can't, you can't go wrong with Ming-Na Wen. She is like a Disney triple threat. She was Mulan. She was in Marvel. She was in Star Wars. It's crazy how much she's done. She was the cavalry in, uh, in Marvel. Yeah. Melinda May. Just kicking, kicking all kinds of ass. I actually, that was a raffle. Nice. Oh, cool.
[00:12:22] Very cool. Very cool. So, um, when is the next SAC, so they're SAC Con and SAC Anemy, right? They're connected? Yeah. Yeah. When is the, when is their next big show? The next one would be Easter. Oh, wow. That's soon? The next one would be Easter. And it's that whole weekend, Saturday, Sunday. I think that one doesn't have Friday, right? No, it doesn't have. It's a Friday. Um, and we are actually gonna, I will be there in my rep car versus going to be demo and we will be giving out Easter eggs on Sunday.
[00:12:52] Oh, nice. That's pretty cool. Awesome. I love that. That's good. You guys are coming up with great like ideas to make the con experience fun for everybody else. Just like what you did at weekend blender. It's, it's going over great. I love that idea. Yeah. Kind of adding that, um, that scavenger hunt. Um, just like, you know, Hey, follow all these people and, and we'll get you a bigger prize. Like, I thought that was genius, man. That was great. It's innovative. You guys are innovative.
[00:13:20] You see the future and you make it happen. Reptar has massive bunny ears. Oh, he made bunny ears for Reptar. Oh, that's awesome. Oh, cool stuff. Yeah, he did. He wore them last year too. Oh, those are awesome. That's cool. I love that. Very festive. So I didn't know Reptar was a Catholic. That's great. All dinosaurs are Catholic. Don't you know that? They're a Velocipastor.
[00:13:51] Velocipastor. Exactly. They were hats. They're a Velocipastor. I did it. I did it. I got there. I got there. You did. I'm proud of you. I'm proud of me too. You did. So what is your next con? Is it the Mad Hatter Tea Party for Sat Geeks? I got to talk to some people to see what's going on for this weekend because we might make it out to the film festival. Well, at least I might.
[00:14:20] But past that. For sure the next thing is the Unbirthday Party for Sat Geeks. Very nice. That's the next for sure one. A very merry unbirthday to you. And then I think right around the corner is Omega Con as well, right? So we are in Con Season. Yeah, that's May. We are like in Con Season. Yeah, that's May. This is Con Season time. We are in it. And June State will be here before you know it. I know. It's crazy. Crazy.
[00:14:50] Well, thank you guys for coming on. And thanks for putting together that video. That was awesome. Yeah, we appreciate it. All right. Are you going to stick around for the dance party later? Well, hopefully we get to see Freya out at the dance party. Yes. Yeah, of course. He should be asleep, but that's fine. I guess. Well, it depends on when the show finishes and you know. Yeah. Bruce can always go to sleep. I have enough things. Maybe I'll make the ventriloquist puppet head up there now. There you go. There you go. That'll be awesome.
[00:15:20] Awesome. Okay, guys. Thank you so much. See you guys later. Bye. All right, guys. Always good having them on just because, you know, they give us the updates for the cons, especially ones that we can't make it to. So, I mean, it's great. And their videos are always fun. Yeah. Jeff's videos get better after everyone. And he like, I think he generates the music too. So, it's like the videos he makes are fun. They are. They're really fun. And we have somebody else, right? Because we got another thing. I can't believe. Oh, damn it. You know.
[00:15:50] Wait, he's back. Sorry. I'm like switching my screen so I could change the slide and then the whole thing just decided, nope. Right. You're gone. It's fine. That's fine. We're not trying to impress Frank or anything. That's fine. Exactly. No, it's okay. We'll just keep screwing up. It's all good. It's fine. I'm not a professional at this. It's all right. We're fine. You're fine. How are you? We're all fine. Yeah. How are you?
[00:16:17] I really wish you guys would stop arguing because you're really... Scaring the children? No. You're just really bumming me out. Okay. Let's get into this, James. Please give us an introduction. All right. All right. We've got a special guest coming on from the Geeks Freaks Podcast. Our very good friend. We saw him a week on Blender.
[00:16:40] Our buddy Frank is here to talk about an Amazon Prime video premiere here in Sacramento for a Nicole Kidman movie. Let's talk about it. Let's bring him on. Ladies and gentlemen, please put your hands together for Frank of Geek Freaks. Hey, everybody. Thank you for having me. Appreciate it. Appreciate it. I've been doing cyber attacks on Phil. Are they affecting his internet yet? 100%. Is that what's going on? Yes.
[00:17:08] You're like attacking the entire hotel. It's great. Then my master plan is working. I'm sure everybody in the hotel is very happy that their internet's not working right. Well, I'm sure a few of your neighbors are like, is that dude actually podcasting next door? I'm sure they are. I'm sure my immediate neighbor is like, is he podcasting? Yeah, yeah, he is. The struggles are real. Why can't people just have sex in hotels? The good old days, right? Now everybody's got to buy a microphone. Go buy condoms instead. My God. Oh my God.
[00:17:37] You have to go to the hotel to podcast. That's the nerdiest thing I've ever heard. Yeah, so I'm hopping on real quick guys to just let you guys know Geek Freaks with just this nerding and many other shows that we work with. Um, we have a screening coming up from here for a prime videos Holland starring Nicole Kimman. It's a thriller. It's like shot super beautifully done or beautiful. Whatever my words are. You're not working today. Thank you. And, uh, and so yeah, we have a screener.
[00:18:06] We have 64 seats. They're filling up fast. We have a limited time. So if you guys want to join us on the screener, free movie, free popcorn, a free soda. Um, just hit up me in the DMS geek freaks, anything, or just a snowing. They'll forward it over to my way. Right. Just so we can get a head count and then come over Friday, 9 PM at Laguna 16. When I was working with prime on this, they were like, what theater do you want? I'm like, I could go for like a downtown Sacramento one that I maybe would probably be better. Right. Like crest. I know crest would be like super awesome. Right.
[00:18:34] But I was like, man, I want to give, I want to give my local ass theater that I grew up with a screening. And so I'm super happy that we were able to do that. And so it's just that local theater that I grew up in that I remember watching Titanic and my mom walked me out because boobies were on the TV. And so it's that theater guys. And, uh, I hope you guys could join us this Friday. It's going to be a blast. I'll join you. But in the end, you've got to paint me like one of your French girls. Okay. Oh, I'll show you the finished product. I've already started and I'm getting pretty good at it.
[00:19:02] I got to say, real quick. I did put it in the chat. So Instagram.com, you know, at geek freaks podcast. All right. So if you're interested, just DM Frank, he's super responsive. Just let them know. And can, is it, is there a limit? Like one ticket, two tickets? Uh, right now there's not so much a limit as we are. Like this was very last minute. Let's be frank, frank about it. Like prime's like, oh shoot, we forgot. And so we were actually going to do it last Friday even.
[00:19:29] And then they were just like, you know, anyway, so they're scrambling a little bit. So we're happy to help them out in the end of the gap. We work with prime and paramount quite a bit, same PR agent for both of them, our PR company. And, um, and yeah, so this is a bit of a clutch thing. So they understand that that theater is probably likely not going to be full with the five days. They gave me to put this together. And, uh, but luckily we have a really great community of geeks, nerds and everything else in Elk Grove and Sacramento. And so I'm glad that whoever wants to come and watch a free movie, I mean, might as well. Right. It actually looks like a good movie too.
[00:19:57] That's one thing that was really helpful when they first sent me the trailer. Like, Hey, do you want to do the thing for this? And I'm like, let me watch this trailer real quick. And it ended up being good. So that was like, okay, good. Okay. I'm down for this. And yeah, Nicole came in. How could you say no? I was confused by the trailer a little and then realized, Oh, this, no, this is supposed to take place in America. Yes. It's Holland, Michigan, I guess. So, um, I, I grew up in a Portuguese community where we still do a lot of Portuguese traditions here in, in like California, California and Boston are two really big Portuguese communities.
[00:20:25] And, um, so to me, I found a lot of like similarities in that, like, Oh, okay. Like a little traditions that you have within America. And like, sometimes like some people outsiders wouldn't recognize those traditions as something different. Like for us, it's just normal. And, um, but yeah, there's something there. And then obviously there's like some crazy background stuff going on with that one dude from succession. Nobody remembers his name and I don't remember his name either. He's clearly like a bad guy. So, um, that should be, that should be an absolute lesson. Oh, Matthew McFadden. Is that who? That sounds right. And you know what? I like the confidence.
[00:20:55] So we're just going to go with it. That's good old Matthew McFadden. And so I know that he was married to the girl, the daughter. Yeah. Like Javon. Is that right? Siobhan. Siobhan. Yeah. Yes. That's the right guy. And, um, you hate him in Daredevil and Wolverine. Yeah. You didn't quite care for him succession. Get ready to be afraid of him in this one. I think. Ooh. I really liked him in China. I love it. So. It's funny because we were assuming he was going to be Mr. Sinister and I was
[00:21:24] like, Oh, Nope. Didn't happen. I'm glad because I don't want him to be this sinister. He doesn't have the gravitas for that. You know, you gotta have a good gravitas for that. Yeah. Clearly haven't seen him in MI5. That is fair to say. Yeah. I have not seen him in MI5. Is that the one where Henry Cavill is pumping up his arms? No, no, no, no, no, no. Then it doesn't matter. That's the only Mission Impossible that matters from now on. No, it wasn't Mission Impossible. No. Yeah. It's British like secret service, dude. See? You're watching. Yeah. MI6, but like the spoof of it or something like that. Yeah.
[00:21:53] It was called Spoox in England. There we go. Oh, in England? What do they call it in Holland? Cause that's all that matters right now is Holland. I've liked him since that time. It's like since the early 2000s. So yeah, I'm going to watch it. Hopefully I'll be afraid. And he would make a kick ass Mr. Sinister. You know what we should watch is Holland this Friday at- James putting in the work. Out of work. Laguna 16 in Elk Grove, March 28th. Trying to keep us from- I think it's a 9 PM show, right? 9 PM show. Yeah.
[00:22:23] So come on out guys. Hang out with us. There you go. And then, I mean, what the hell am I throwing out there guys? We have a convention the week after. So if you're in the Ranch Cordova area on April 5th, come on out and hang out with us. We're going to be giving out a bunch of stuff. I just bought 10 skateboards to give away to kids. So, a big spinning wheel with all kinds of prizes on there. Chocolate bars, Funko Pops, all kinds of stuff. And I just bought 10 beautiful brand new skateboards for that thing too. So it's going to be a blast. For the kids? What- Is there an age limit? Everybody can spin the wheel. Okay, thanks. Don't be a jerk. It's like if you catch the baseball,
[00:22:53] you should hand it to the young kid next to you and not be like, sweet, that thing. So just keep that in mind. Hey, we've got a lifetime of dreams to be crushed, all right? There you go. Let me get my dream taken care of first. But that'll be fun too. So hopefully, we're going to get at- We're going to be giving away a lot of prizes at the screening too. Prime is overnighting a bunch of stuff to me. So I even told one of the guys like, Hey, do you need any help with this or that? And I'm like, you got a truck? I don't know what Prime is sending me, but it might be boxes. And so I might be needing you to haul stuff. Oh, that is awesome.
[00:23:23] By the way, so this is free, right? It's a free ticket. Oh yeah. Free ticket, free popcorn, free soda. Free popcorn, free- You get a whole night out thanks to Amazon Prime and Geek Freaks Podcast. This is amazing. Yeah. I want to do this. It's great. Yeah. Luckily, we have a really good relationship with these guys. They sent us- I mean, God, the amount of- Paramount as well. The amount of Halo 2 on Blu-ray that I have is kind of unreal. And so I make it rain Halo 2's around here. Halo 2 on Blu-ray.
[00:23:53] Like Steelbox? Yeah, they sent me a bunch. And so I'm just like, who wants one for Christmas? Y'all are watching Halo 2 on these. You're the Oprah Winfrey of- Yeah. You get a Halo 2 and you get a Halo 2. Paramount's like, oh, because I did this one campaign with them or whatever. They're like, we're going to send you a mystery box of a bunch of things that you can do at your next giveaway. I would be like, perfect. More Halos. Like, guys, that's not a mystery. That's getting rid of the closet full of stuff you have. That's great. Come on, help me out, guys.
[00:24:20] So, hey, if you want free stuff, you better go to the Holland premiere down in Elk Grove at the Laguna 16 on Friday the 28th, 9 p.m. Free ticket, free popcorn, all that good stuff. All you got to do is just DM Frank, Geek Freaks Podcast, or DM us. If you DM these guys too, I'm sure they'll hoard it over. They're not going to hoard your DMs, I don't think, so keep that in mind. That is awesome. And actually, let's do a quick call because I don't know if you guys are saying it enough. I want to make sure everybody knows that Distance Nerding is now putting out shorter YouTube videos.
[00:24:49] So if you guys just want that quick fix of some Distance Nerding during your lunch break, I mean, come on. You guys got to check it out. It's just like five minute videos. You catch back up on everything. You feel good and you go back to work and there goes your soul. It's perfect. It's amazing. I appreciate it, man. No, no. James, every time we put a video out, he's just like, I want to kiss this man on the mouth. Oh, my God.
[00:25:16] He's just so much better at doing what we do that it's amazing to see somebody do good at what we do. It's to-do lists and calendars all around me is what it is. That's all it is. And a lot, a lot of practice. We're like the JV basketball team and then Michael Jordan comes walking into the- Oh, please. I am varsity in a D2. Don't, come on now. Don't give me too much pressure. Yeah. Come on. I'm the Cinderella story on a good day.
[00:25:45] Don't raise me up too much now. Come on. That's funny. So real quick. Don't limit yourself like that. Come on. You got to soften the blow that way when they come on over and I can either surprise them or they can understand that that's how it was. Yeah. No, no. It's like, he's like, yeah, no, we're, um, you know, I'm, I'm, I'm varsity on the D2. It's like, yeah, but you have a partnership with freaking Amazon right now. Come on. Yeah. I mean, that's an amazing point, by the way. We, we should actually talk about that.
[00:26:12] That's amazing that you partner with Amazon prime to do things like this, a premiere for, you know, big budget, Nicole Kidman movie. That's awesome. So I know they only give you a short amount of time to get this done, but Sacramento Elk Grove, Northern California. We got to show up for this to be like, holy crap. Geek Freest can put this together. Sacramento. Here you go. Here's another premiere. Here's another premiere. Here's another box of halo to, to throw out to people. You know what I mean? Like we need all the halo.
[00:26:41] My goal is I want them to do the premiere for the next season of the boys here. That's what I want them to do. So that's what I'm pushing for. That would be good. That's amazing. I'll take invincible as well, but I want the boys. I'm pushing you to push for that. That'd be amazing. I'm working on it. Trust me. Yeah, I can. I still can't get paramount to just send me a box full of Star Trek stuff. I keep getting halos, but I'm like, please guys, I could do all day. They definitely want to send you more halo because they just offloaded it to Netflix. So it's like, you know how many DMS I got?
[00:27:10] Like, did you see that it's doing good on Netflix? I'm like, not helping me right now. I need Blu-rays out of my house. Don't stream it on Netflix. Call Frank. Yeah. Oh my God. You're like, I'll drive it to you right now. Yes. I'm the old school Netflix where there used to be a Disney ride. Yeah. Put it in your mailbox. I know it's getting a good run on Netflix. Doesn't make it any better. Yeah. It's some missed opportunities, but it's worth the watch guys. As I should say, as somebody who talks to Paramount a lot.
[00:27:39] I said this the other day. It's good. It would be really, it'd be a really, really, really good sci-fi show if they just cut out all the halo shit. Yeah. If it didn't have halo branding, it would be a great. It would be an amazing. Because as halo branding, you're like, why is Arbiter dead again? Yeah. You shouldn't be. It's like, what does this have to do with halo? Why is there like future, but also this is supposed to be a prequel and why is he not wearing his suit at all? Yeah. So disappointing. So disappointing. Um, you guys are going to be on the show tomorrow on geek fix tomorrow. Yes.
[00:28:10] So yeah, let's give that a quick shout out to, I mean, what the hell was shouting on everything today? So you guys can listen to them talk about it. This is starting the show. You're already listening to. We're going to be talking about geek free on geek freaks. There we go. Ooh, I love it. By the way, uh, Frey, we also signed you up to be on geek freaks. So surprise. We're just telling you about it now. But yeah, I'm so glad that you did this online. Yeah. Can you say no to everybody right now?
[00:28:39] Um, she could, she can say no anytime she wants. Yeah. I actually didn't. Yeah. Uh, but, but no, uh, no. Hey, I'll tell you what though. You do not say no to free tacos and you don't say no to a free movie, especially when Amazon Prime is bringing you a premiere of a Nicole Kidman movie, Holland here to Sacramento, March 28th, 9 PM at the Laguna 16 in Elk Grove.
[00:29:08] So free popcorn, free tickets, free soda. Yeah. Come get yours. It's going to be awesome. It's going to be amazing. James. I hate you. I hate you right now for how on point you are with your, you know, it's gotta be a favorite of every podcast. I mean, I don't make that, you know, it's just how it is. It's funny because it's like, it's whoever for the day decides they're going to be the king of the Segway or queen. Like Jen was the queen of Segways last week. Now John is like, no, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm only the queen.
[00:29:38] I'm the queen. I'm the queen. I'm the queen. I'm the queen. We're always surprised when he does it. Yeah. It's a real joy. All right. I know Frank has a lot to do. He's got to move a lot of halo boxes into that truck. So I don't want to keep them longer, but tell all your friends, everybody, get those tickets, DM geek freaks podcast, come out, hang out. It's going to be so cool to just get people together to hang out and do something fun and see a cool movie. Yeah. Who doesn't want a free halo DVD?
[00:30:10] I'm in Oklahoma. I mean, planes like fly every day. It's crazy. I'll give you a box. Oh, you know what? I'll give you halo season two on Blu-ray too. He's going to give you halo season two. He's going to give you popcorn. There's the soda involved. I can't have the popcorn. I can't have popcorn. Oh, because of the palm oil. Because that's the palm oil. So that's not even a thing. Oh, man. And I don't drink soda anymore. So what the hell? Well, it's a decent movie, I think.
[00:30:40] Hopefully. Yeah. All right, guys. I'll leave you to it. Thank you very much for having me on. And I look forward to talking to you guys again tomorrow. And we're looking forward to being on your show. And we're looking forward to you coming back on our show to talk about the next premiere. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Let's make this a good thing. Absolutely. That's the goal. Make Sacramento the hub of the next Hollywood. I'm down for it. Let's do it. We're going to make it the hub of halo giveaways. Awesome.
[00:31:07] Literally on April 5th, like on that wheel, it's going to say halo five or halo season two. I promise you that. It's happening. All right, guys. We have a fun one. Make Sacramento Hollywood again. Thanks, Frank. All right, Frank. Bye, Frank. That was great. Shout out to Frank and Geek Freaks podcast. By the way, if you like our show, go check them out. They are nerdy just like us. They're funny just like us. They do content so often.
[00:31:33] Like we do our shows, but they're always pumping out content. So they're another good watch, another good stream. Go check out Geek Freaks. Absolutely. So let's move on from here, guys. It's time to get into the next segment or into the first segment, I guess. Ladies and gentlemen, let's talk about what we're watching. I'm watching Daredevil born again and Wheel of Time season three. We'll get to those. So let's do it. It looks like we've got it broken up by by service this week.
[00:32:02] I can run through this pretty quickly. All right. You know, I want to mention like what's streaming what's out there like Apple TV plus severance season two just wrapped up and everybody saying it's amazing. I haven't finished yet. So no spoilers, but I heard it's really awesome. Hulu. There's a bunch of new documentaries, but there's a new comedy called Deli Boys. I heard that look really funny. That's funny. And then we just mentioned it on Amazon. Amazon's all over the place. Some two great shows. Reacher. Is it season three?
[00:32:31] Reacher season three season three season finale is next week. Oh, cool. So then I can binge it. Yes. Yeah. And then Wheel of Time season three is is happening right now. And it's actually really good. Right. It's been so good. And and really it's been really close to the book. So like the fourth episode is a pretty pivotal moment in the whole dragon storyline. And yeah. And so and it was very close to the books.
[00:32:59] I was so confused at the last episode where they kept time jumping. Yeah. I was so into it at the same time, but it was so good. It was fun. Well, and it was different. I loved how it was different. Yeah. Like what how how she went through it, like in a circular pattern and how he was going in a straight line. So that was like a juxtaposition. It was just really it was very well done. And in the books, you don't see the stuff that Moraine sees. Yeah, it's really talks about it.
[00:33:29] It's a good show. You know, if if you haven't started Wheel of Time, this is going to be a good one to binge because I think there's so many characters in the week to week is a little bit harder to stay in touch with. So binging it may be the best way to go. OK, moving on. Max has Lord of the Rings War of Rohirrim out. The Pit is also out right now. And that's doing really well. Sack Deadpool chimed in with Max. New series Dark Side of Hollywood. Oh, yeah. Oh, is on Max.
[00:33:58] Go check that out. That sounds interesting. I believe it's the same producers from from the Nickelodeon. Oh, oh, OK. Yeah, I know. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Gotcha. Gotcha. And then over on Peacock Nosferatu. I know that's on your list, young Phil. It is on my list. I have to watch that without Jackie because she did not like the original, which I mean,
[00:34:23] you know, the original if you're somebody who already doesn't like horror and you're watching one of these like visceral old silent films about vampires, you know, she's not into that. So I can't wait to watch the new one. I've heard nothing but good things. Yep. So that's out on Peacock right now. And another it's kind of an indie film. I don't know if you guys have heard of it. It's called Wicked. We just want to ask you about that. I was like, what's Wicked? We just watched it on Sunday. So me and Jackie watched it together.
[00:34:54] And she honestly was like confused. She was like, there's so many questions I have. There's so much that just did not get answered. And I told her, remember, they took the play and they split it into two movies. So half of the stuff that happens in the musical, like is it the stuff that's not that you're not getting in the first half pays off in the second movie. So yeah, you were we're an intermission right now. Exactly. I want to go get peanut butter M&Ms and maybe a soda that we can't bring back into the theater. We're on intermission. We're on intermission right now.
[00:35:24] James, you skip Disney. Oh, Disney. Well, we mentioned Daredevil born again. We're all watching Daredevil. But the other and then Moana Moana 2 is out right now. And then I believe it's maybe tomorrow, maybe the next day. But Mufasa. Oh, Mufasa is coming out. Okay. Mufasa is dropping on Disney plus. It's not out quite yet. So we didn't put on a list, but it's coming out. I think this week Moana 2 is on my list of movies to watch.
[00:35:51] So I definitely need to watch that for everybody that is not following Daredevil. There's two episodes of Daredevil that come out today. And two. Yeah. So it's supposed to be two episodes today. Oh, and from what I understand, the reason is because episode five goes kind of slow, but leads into episode six and episode six takes off hard. Oh, so they're saying like episode five kind of explains the events of episode six and episode six is just like full speed ahead.
[00:36:19] I appreciate that understanding that the pacing for each episode isn't quite the same. So like, let's bundle them together. It makes total sense. Yeah. Understanding that you have the capacity to keep the keep the storyline concise. So like you're not so you're so you don't have that cliffhanger anything. We as a society have moved past. We need a cliffhanger to bring us back next thing. So I like that. Yep. I agree.
[00:36:49] Unless you're Netflix and you have like an eight part series and you give me a cliffhanger at the very end of each episode. So like at two thirty in the morning, I'm like, all right, just one more, one more Netflix. And then four thirty rolls around. I'm like, what did I just do? Yeah. I have to wake up in an hour and a half. Just you choices. And that was a me. Right. Speaking of Netflix, they have so much going on right now. Yeah. Netflix is dropping a bunch. So there's a couple of comedy specials. So the Burt Kreischer special is out. Chelsea Handler's out right now.
[00:37:19] Of course, WWE Raw is doing amazing on Netflix right now. Electric State, that Russo's film with what's her name? Millie Bobby Brown. She's in it. Chris Pratt's in it. It's an interesting movie. And then two of our all time favorite movies from last year. The Venom Last Dance and everybody's favorite Craven is out. I just feel bad for the horse. I feel bad for Netflix for putting it on.
[00:37:48] They made the deal with Sony. So they just decided, hey, we're going to put that on there. Hey, they got in bed with the devil. I mean, Sony. Yeah. They've got a live air. Sacked Deadpool. I watched Craven. I'm so glad I waited for that to show up for streaming. I watched it too, to be honest. Like we were like, okay, nothing's on right now. We got all caught up on what we were watching and we're like, I mean, Craven's on. She's like, is it Marvel? I'm like, it's Marvel-ish. Does that count? She's like, what does that mean?
[00:38:17] I'm like, I don't know. But she's like, turn it on. 10 minutes in. She's like, I'm going to bed. I'm like, okay. But I committed. I committed. I finished it. I've heard like everybody that, that I know is just like, yeah. And then we got Craven and it made me not want to watch any Sony movies ever again. I mean, we got Craven like it's some sort of like STD. I got Craven. I got the Craven. Yeah. There's no pill for that. No, not at all. All right.
[00:38:47] So that's what we are currently watching right now. Ladies and gentlemen, please chime in on what you guys are watching right now. Let us know in, in, in, in our DMS. Let us know in the, in the comments and everything like that, what, what you're watching so we can talk about it. So with that being said, ladies and gentlemen, it's time to talk some rumors.
[00:39:18] We're banned in Belarus. We're banned in Belarus. All right. Starting it off. The league is coming. Looks like league of legends. It's finally leveling up to a live action show. Riot games is moving forward with a live action series based on its widely popular game universe. And in Vietnam, Vietnam is getting some love is being eyed as the key filming location for the project. Interesting.
[00:39:47] I wonder why Vietnam, but maybe a lot of, it's probably a lot of like locations. Yeah. Yeah. I have a question. Yeah. Is that the little ghost thing from he man? Yes. In the foreground there. That's Orko. Yep. That's Orko. No, it's not. It is. It is totally is. Let her believe it. He's gone. He, he made some choices. No, I know. Right. He, what's funny is he is a mage character. Yeah.
[00:40:17] Yeah, I know. And, and he's like primarily a mid runner. If you, if you play league. But yeah. Hey, once, once meth got to Eternia, it turned really bad for Orko. Once meth got to Eternia. Okay. All right. The info surface from an official post by Vietnam's government Facebook page. Right. Is planning to shoot a nine episode TV series sometime in 2025 tacos on the table. Will you watch a league of legends series?
[00:40:46] I don't know that we need a live action league series. I mean, like I, I'm enjoying the animated series and I came arcane. I'm feeling like they need to just stick with that because I don't think we need a live action league of legends. I honestly don't. You know, my tacos may be off the table too, only because a league of legends arcane is so beautiful. Like the animation, if they just do more shows like that, I think people would be on board.
[00:41:14] Like they, there's so much lore that you can get into with the legends. Cause like, I get it. Like, you know, we, we've got arcane, but that's only one small corner of everything that's going on within the world that league takes place in. Um, you can do so many animated series with that animation style and get every character in Lee. And I don't think you need to do, I don't think you need to do an entire live action.
[00:41:41] Plus like it would just, it doesn't lend itself for live action. Like it's such an anime style game that it just stick, stick with animation. Honestly. I agree. I agree. I actually was going to say that as well. I, I, my tacos are not on the table for this. Yeah. I think some things have a medium that they're best displayed in. And I think that one is the anime. I think the anime is, is the right choice or not anime, but the animation is the right choice for that.
[00:42:10] Hey, is this the first time all of our tacos are off the table? I think, I think it is. Wow. Look at all it took was meth orco from masters of the universe. And all those tacos are off the table. That is great. Oh, all right. Who got the next one? I do. I'm on the wrong page. All right. Boom. Cause I'm a slayer y'all. Slayers. Time for the hell mouth to crack open again. Well, you know, there are other hell mouths, not just sunny. Right.
[00:42:38] You don't got to get deep into it. I mean, it could be anybody's hell mouth. Could be young Phil's hell mouth. Apparently there was one in Cleveland. I think at some point. All right. Buffy the vampire slayer is officially getting a revival series on Hulu. Uh, we have a breakdown of the new characters who will be joining Sarah Michelle Geller, who is set to return as Buffy. Geller won't be the central figure in the action this time, but rather a guiding presence
[00:43:04] as a mentor to a fresh young slayer named Nova. Oh. Whether it's going to be called Buffy the vampire slayer. But it's not that. Okay. Anyway. Uh, the rumor says Nova is the series lead, a teenage vampire hunter trying to juggle high school life with her nighttime calling. Think classic Buffy, but re-imagined through a 2020's lens. Oh. Oh. I have a nighttime calling. You know what I mean?
[00:43:35] Should we ask Jenna? Should we ask your wife about that? I'm a lady of the night over here. Okay. Keep going. Uh, here's what we know about the new characters joining the Buffy birds. Nova, Slayer in training. Uh, lead. Abe, Nova's father, a devoted photojournalist lead. Oh, so kind of like a Jimmy Olsen kind of thing. Uh, Mr. Burke, the school librarian with a dark twist. He becomes a vampire. Oh. Oh.
[00:44:05] And I love how they tell us what the twist is. Yeah. That's awesome. Lead, uh, Cole, the confident alpha of the group, natural born leader. Um, okay. Uh, Hugo, wealthy, nerdy, awkward, crushing on Nova lead. Ooh. Aw. Gracie, Nova's best friend, obsessed with myths, myths, not myths, myths, and fittingly a huge Buffy fan lead. A fan girl.
[00:44:34] A fan girl. A fan girl. Uh, and Mia, a social media addict who accidentally gets pulled into the supernatural world supporting. Okay. Just like the one supporting character and everybody else is a lead character. Yeah. You gotta get everybody sandwiches and know your lines. Well, it takes, it takes a village. Um, Oscar winner. It takes a village to, to act in the show with one supporting actor. Yes. Uh, they, they need the leads only don't need that much support. They're self supporting.
[00:45:04] Uh, Oscar winner, Chloe Zhao, Zhao, Zhao, Zhao, will direct the pilot and executive produce. So tacos on the table. Do you think this reboot will slay? Uh, my tacos are on the table. I think it's going to be fun. Yep. I agree. I agree. I think this is going to be fun. I think they're going to do, do it justice. I think we've seen enough reboots where we know how to get it wrong, but also how to get it right. And I, I don't think they're going to mess this up.
[00:45:33] Where are your tacos, Trey? I said, we need more Buffy. Need more. We need Buffy tacos, buff, buff tacos. Yeah. The other thing is if, if Sarah Michelle Geller is willing to come back and play the character, I'm sure she like, you know, she, she's gotta at least, she's gotta at least like parts of the script in order to come back for this. I think she was pretty, like they went to her to get her input on it. Like it's pretty collaborative. I think she's going to be an executive producer as well. Yeah.
[00:46:03] So, I mean, if, if, if Sarah Michelle Geller is on board with this and this is a character that is intrinsically tied to her, I'm sure she's not going to do something that is going to like ruin this character for people. No, I, and she's pretty protective of the character because there have been like rumors for years about some Buffy coming back or, you know, and a reboot the next layer or whatever.
[00:46:28] And, uh, they never materialized and she never said anything about it, but she's talking about it on social media and talking about how she's, you know, that she's been involved in it. So, and that she's actually going to come and do it. So I, you know, I think that it's a good, it's a good thing. I love Buffy. Let's have more. All right. Well, let's move on to the next story here.
[00:46:51] Time to put your bear traps away after nearly two decades of twist traps and blood. So mortality lessons. It looks like the saw franchise may have finally met its match. Thanks to some behind the scenes drama. I guess some producers were not agreeing on things. So despite the success of saw X in 2023 and official announcement for saw 11 and a
[00:47:17] announcement for saw 11 sources close to the production now claim the sequel is totally dead. Uh, I read a little to this and I guess, uh, there's three different producers who are arguing and just like canceling each other out. And like as writers, right. They were like, Nope, not working. And then somebody would change it to theirs and blah, blah, blah. So the studio was just like, okay, we're done. We're going to walk away from this. And they just walked away. Yeah.
[00:47:44] I mean, I, I get that like, um, with, with this. So my, with, with, with what we're asking, my tacos are on the table that we're not getting a sequel, uh, or another, another sequel. So, uh, honestly, I don't think we need another sequel. We've already had 10 of these movies and it's, it's, it's kind of like, it starts, it starts to get stale when you go and just kind of continuously do these movies.
[00:48:08] Um, even to the point where like, okay, you look at like some of these, uh, horror franchises that have like 10, 11, 12 movies, and then they go reboot it because exactly that it's gotten stale. So it's like, Oh, we need to go and redo everything from the ground up. Like we don't need more saw movies. How much, how much more story can you get out of this stuff? Like I, I honestly don't feel like, and yeah, I don't feel like we need another song. Exactly. I totally agree.
[00:48:33] Tacos movies not being made because we've had like 10 sequels to something. Yeah. We don't, this would be, this is good. Let's save the money and put it somewhere. We don't need another saw. You know, we need a reboot of Aragorn. Okay. Can we get a reboot of Aragorn that is worth the movie itself? Like, you know, like, like Aragorn was not done right. And it's like, can we get a version of Aragorn that was good? That's as good as the book.
[00:49:01] You just pulled Aragorn out of your butt and just, I don't know what you were just waiting for that. No, that's the movie that comes to mind. It's deeper than that. No, that's, that's a movie that comes to mind when it's like, okay, there's a movie that needs to be rebooted. Right. And it's like, Oh, we're going to go and reboot all these franchises.
[00:49:17] Uh, I think we talked about this, um, you know, many, many shows ago, but rather than rebooting franchises that are already successful, why don't you reboot franchises that didn't do well, but have potential to do well? Yeah. Yeah. They did it with Percy Jackson. Percy Jackson's, uh, uh, reboot is amazing. Oh yeah. And yeah. We've don't, we have something on that later in the show. We do. Yeah. Yeah. We'll get to that. But it's like Percy Jackson's reboot was great. It's like, you know, I love Percy Jackson.
[00:49:46] Yeah. Like do that. Aragon needs that. You know what? And I've talked about this one a lot too. You know, it needs a reboot because they did not do justice in the eighties. And some people love this movie, but everybody universally knows it was a bad movie. Uh, the black cauldron.
[00:50:00] I, you know, I, that is, that was a good ish movie. But the thing, the problem with that movie is there's so much that they cut out of it that there's whole plot points that make no sense. Yeah. I get it. I get what you're saying. Plus just like what it says, 10 movies over 20 years, two decades. What is that? Two, a movie every two years. Yeah. We don't need more.
[00:50:21] That's almost my, the, my, my son's whole life. If anything, it just needs to go away for a little bit, like just go away for a little bit and then come back and then we can, we can talk about it then, but let's keep going. Yeah. Let's continue on. All right. Uh, time to shine up the best car during a panel at Indiana comic con. Oh, Indiana comic con. Oh, I wonder, I wonder if, uh, Matt in the chat was there. He was not. What, what about graveyard was graveyard there? I don't know.
[00:50:50] Indiana comic con, uh, sack off. Katie sack off was asked point blank. If she'll appear in the Mandalorian and Grogu, the movie. And she answered, I have not been in the armor in 2025. What the, so that being said, filming of the Mandalorian and Grogu wrapped last year. So sack off timeline technically checks out, but it's also doesn't rule out her involvement in the film.
[00:51:17] If she filmed the scenes in 2024, then she wouldn't have needed to wear the armor in 2025 tacos on the table. Will we get more bow in Mando? Yes. Tacos are on the tape. All the tacos, all the street tacos, all the street tacos. So, so, so here's my, my yes and no on this. Um, everybody likes to parse out things that people say, right? So, well, I haven't worn the armor, uh, in 2025 and she could very well be like swerving and saying, yeah, because I wore it in 2024.
[00:51:47] Or it could have just been a mistake. And she was just like, yeah, no, I have not worn the armor at all. Said 2025. Cause it's 2025. And was like, shit. When she like walked off stage and was like, ah, now people are going to think that means that I was in the armor in 2024. 2024, you know, when she could just be saying like, I was not in this movie. There's not a part for me in this movie. Now the storyline is not tied up in a bow. So to speak. Ha ha ha ha. Right. Um, no pun intended on that, but it was a good pun.
[00:52:16] Uh, but I mean like. Oh, I just got it. I just, I just got it. Let's hear you did. Okay. Go, go, go. But Bo, like, again, we, we don't know where Bo-Katan is at as far as where her storyline lies. You know? Um, and it would make sense that if this movie is supposed to be with tying everything together and tying everything up, if we're not supposed to be getting more Mandalorian after this movie, then we need to, like, we need to, um,
[00:52:44] I mean, I kind of want to assume that she's going to be in this movie. Yeah. I totally think she's in it. Totally. Bo, Mando, Grogu. This is like, it's going to be the greatest hits, you know? If are wrapping up this, what are they calling it? The New Republic era. Carp-son-teen. They're going to put everybody back in this and do, like, a big farewell to this or something. You know, we're going to get all the hits back. Will we get Ezra? No. I don't, I don't think we will.
[00:53:12] Not, not, not where they're at in the timeline right now. If you think about it, they moved chess pieces all over the place. Like, there's Ahsoka. We got Ahsoka in the show. That's great. That's awesome. But then all of a sudden they moved her to a different galaxy? Yeah. They're going to do this without Ahsoka. They'll be fine. Right. But Ezra's in this galaxy. Yeah. Remember at the end, Ezra Bridger was on the ship that, like, you know, worked its way back. But he doesn't know, he doesn't know Bo.
[00:53:42] Ezra doesn't know Bo. But he knows people who know Bo. Actually, he does know Bo. I should change that. I changed that. Oh, yeah. He does know Bo. Yeah, he would. Yeah, that was Rebels. Yeah. How dare you make me make a mistake? What about bonobos? But, uh. I probably can't have them. What? Yeah, they're made with palm oil. But I don't, I don't think he's going to be. Bonobos are made out of palm oil? What? Bonobos are monkeys. Please, you're a bonobo. Okay, next. Next. Let's go to the next story.
[00:54:13] Some MCU doomsday roomsdays. Rumors. Some MCU? Who you? Yeah. Charlize Theron is reportedly coming back as Clea. Clea? Clea? Clea. Clea. Clea. In Marvel's Avengers Doomsday. The rumor also says Clea will return for the next major Avengers event.
[00:54:36] The report also mentions that the crowded roster will also include America Chavez, She-Hulk, and yes, the Scarlet Witch, who has been mentioned several times already. Avengers Doomsday opens May 1st, 2026. Secret Wars follows a year later on May 7th of 2027. So, the tacos on the table. Is Charlize going to make another MCU appearance?
[00:55:05] My tacos are 100% on the table. And will she bring Brett Goldstein? So, Clea and Hercules show up. Uh, no, 100%, she's got, Clea's gonna show up. I mean, why would you tease her at the end of, uh, Doctor Doom if you weren't gonna bring her in the next time we saw Doctor Doom? Right.
[00:55:27] Um, the other thing is, is we are so, so overdue for Doctor, for, for, uh, Doctor Strange to say, uh, by the horror hosts of Hoggoth. I'm sorry, I've been waiting for it for, like, seven movies at this point. He has a catchphrase in the comics that he has not said in the movies yet. There's a reason why they leave it in the comics. All right? Yeah, some things, like, we don't have a lot of people just wandering around saying, Excelsior! I mean, that's not something that happens, so.
[00:55:57] But they've said it in the movies, though. Like, I just, he, I just want, like, a, it doesn't, he doesn't have to say the catchphrase all the time. I just want him to say it in one of the movies. Like once. Just once. And then, like, not even, like, a, like, a, by the horror hosts of Hoggoth. Like, just, like, passing, ah, by the horror hosts of Hoggoth. All right. I think it would be funnier if he said it, but it was, like, he was reading something about, like, he had a book. And he was, like, by the horror hosts of Hoggoth.
[00:56:27] What is it? Of Hoggoth, yeah. Hoggoth by the horror hosts of Hoggoth. Who? Wong? Who's Hoggoth? Like, and then, like, this is, like, the start of that. Yeah. I mean, like, you can do that. That would be a funny MCU joke again. And then we get to see Wong again. Because it's all about Wong. I, I, because the way he uses it is almost like good, good lord. Right? Right. Like, you know, he's in a situation. It's like Great Caesar's Ghost. Right, right, right. Yeah, I get it.
[00:56:52] You know, so, like, I, I want him to just, like, be in a situation, like, just kind of frustrated with something. You can go, by the horror hosts of Hoggoth. And then just, you'll hear nothing, you'll hear nothing but nerds erupting in theaters. Well, right. But. No, one nerd. Just you. Just you. Everybody who's a fan of Doctor Strange. I'm sorry. I derailed this. Let's, let's continue. No, but the character that the MCU is portraying him as is much more scientific. And he just happens to know how to do this magic stuff.
[00:57:22] So it's more, he's science-y. So he's not going to say something like that because he's not, he doesn't care about that. But he said things. He just cares about results and that he's the best at what he does. That's all he freaking cares about. He has said other things that are magic related adjacent like that. Okay. I'm just saying that I love the fanboy in you and the passion that you have for that.
[00:57:46] But I don't want the adult in you to be disappointed if it doesn't happen. Will he have the passion for the next story we're waiting him to get to? That's the question. Oh, God. Sorry. Sack Deadpool has the best way to do it. So they're in Vegas and they see a Hoggath billboard and Strange goes, who's that? Wong, don't worry about that. Yeah, that'd be, okay. Yeah. There we go. See, you know what? And I said something like that.
[00:58:14] I said almost the same thing, but just, oh, you read it in a book and then asked, well, well, who's this guy? Yeah. And you're like, oh. No, no, no. I'm saying I would, I would be fine with that. Like I would be fine with the reference. No, whatever. The moment has passed. Let's just move on. Okay. Well, did everybody put their tacos? It doesn't matter anymore. Why are you guys like Hoggath? Hoggath tacos. Do you guys think Clea is showing up? That's the question. Yes. Yeah, totally. Okay. You don't put Charlize in a movie. Yeah.
[00:58:42] You don't, you don't cast Charlize Theron as, as Clea. If you're not going to bring her back. Or like a throwaway, you know? Exactly. You don't do that. Yeah. So speaking of. I want to see. Well, no, I have to say one thing now. No, go for it. Please. You started talking about it. No, no, no. Please. Um, I want to see what happens between her and Jen. Now that Jen's powered back up. And I know Jen, like, uh, Jennifer Kale is Dr. Strange. Like she has shown up in Dr. Strange stuff.
[00:59:09] So that can cause some friction, but I would just love to see that. Cause I think those two actresses would be really good playing off each other. So anyway, let's move on. Like strange, strange is X versus strange is wife. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And then it's just like an offscreen romance is like, yeah, no, we dated for a little bit. You dated for a little bit. Yeah. Excuse me. Yeah. Like, you know, and then you just see her like powering up because I mean, you know, spoilers, she's Dormammu's daughter. So.
[00:59:39] Right. Yeah. Uh, all right. Well, let's move on. Cause again, speaking of doomsday, Marvel studios, boss, Kevin Feige is reportedly planning to take a much more, more active role in overseeing the next two Avengers movies with doomsday and Scarlet secret wars. I can't read, uh, due to internal concerns about directors, Joe and Anthony Russo. Ooh, it sounds like some TV. What concerns are those? I know their latest project. The electric state debuted on Netflix to weak viewership.
[01:00:07] And the film currently sits at a dismal 15% on rotten tomatoes and reportedly costs over 300 million to produce. This disappointing outcome has apparently raised some red flags inside Marvel. So guys tacos on the table. Do you think Feige's concerns over the Russo's other projects are valid or do you think he should just shut up and let the Russo's do another Avengers movie? Ooh. I mean, they've been successful at it before. So I don't know why it would be.
[01:00:35] So they know that they've got the pattern down at least. But, um, I don't know. I mean, not every movie's going to hit. Yeah. I don't, I don't think that, that that's a thing. Well, I think the concern, their, their concern is the projects that the Russo's have done outside of Marvel have not been very good when it comes to like, uh, blockbuster or box office type numbers. So they're thinking like, Hey, wait a second.
[01:01:04] Is it just because we're the machine that is Marvel that these movies are doing good and not the Russo's? So should we be concerned that we're paying them? And by the way, it's two directors to do two movies. Are, are they going to hit? Should we not give them as much leeway on these stories that they're, you know, probably asking for? So, so, so, so here's my thing with this and I'm not, you know, I know I said, I said it a certain way, but that's not kind of the way I feel about it.
[01:01:33] Um, it's the, the Russo's are really good directors. The thing is, is that, you know, the movies that they've been doing, I know some of them are ones that they've written. You think about the movies that they've done the best with and they're with specific writers. It's, it's the combination in the team, you know, whereas the Russo's are writing and directing these films that are not doing as well. Uh, the writing staff that they had for, um, Captain America, uh, winter soldier and the Avengers movies and everything.
[01:02:03] You know, those writers are guys who understand the material. The Russo's also guys who understand the material. You put those kind of those four people together and they're a powerhouse together. And I believe that those same writers are doing these upcoming Avengers movies. Yeah. So I don't have any fears or concerns, uh, with the Russo's directing these Avengers movies, because as, as long as they have the right writing team, they, they, they churn out good
[01:02:33] movies. The issues that they're having with these other movies is that, you know, these are their kind of like creative babies and movies that they're coming up with and everything like that. Um, I think also is just kind of, you know, they're just, they're not, the other movies are not getting kind of like the, um, they're, they're not getting the promotion. That some of the other movies have gotten in the past. Cause like Netflix isn't really like pushing electric state that hard. And, uh, what was it? The gray man, uh, didn't really get that much of a push.
[01:03:01] What was the movie they did for Amazon that, that, that didn't do well. Was it Citadel? I think it was Citadel. And then they also did a movie with Tom Holland for Apple TV plus, but again, all those are streamers. Yeah. So it's hard to be like, Oh, we got a blockbuster of a movie, but it's go straight to streamer. Right. These are all movies that were on streamers. And I think three of those movies were movies that they wrote, you know? So it's them going out and doing passion projects, which is not a problem.
[01:03:29] You go out and do your passion projects. Uh, I have not heard anybody who's really said anything bad about the gray man. I've heard a lot of people talk about good things about Citadel. The thing is, is that, you know, again, Apple TV plus is terrible when it comes to the way they promote their projects. Apple TV plus has amazing shows. They have amazing movies. They are terrible at promoting all of it, you know, because severance is like word of mouth. Yeah. Severance is like word of mouth. You know, like everybody loves severance.
[01:03:56] Well, a lot of people, you know, didn't hop on board until season two because nobody knew. Right. Yeah. All these, all these shows are all word of mouth. Monarch is another one that is like, you know, uh, they're all getting hyped by word of mouth because Apple was terrible with promotion. I totally agree. And you know, what's funny is that the only place I hear about them is, is the word of mouth is from like comic book nation. Shout out to Matt. That was in the chat earlier because like, I didn't know anything about the gorge that
[01:04:24] was coming out and it's on Apple TV plus. I'm like, Oh, what is that? But it was a good movie, you know? Same with severance. If they're not talking about it, I'm not going to watch it. I didn't, you know, I didn't know that was going to be out. Ted Lassa is a different story. You know, I, that was kind of a, uh, their one breakout hit. Right. But, but yeah, unless other people are talking about it, I don't, I don't see what Apple TV plus is supposedly marketing. Right. So interesting. Okay.
[01:05:00] Mm hmm. Mm hmm. Oh, uh, Matt saying air high five. Yeah. See, shout out to, shout out to Matt. If they weren't talking about severance, if they weren't talking about the gorge, I wouldn't know anything about these movies. Yeah. I mean, um, Matt again, shout outs to Matt, uh, Matt Aguilar. Uh, he's the reason I'm getting into all the, uh, the absolute comics is because his reviews are just like, Oh my God, I need to read these. These are all so good. Yay. Double shout out to Matt. Him and Janelle. There you go.
[01:05:30] Cause like, I love Janelle's takes on everything too. That's awesome. Speaking, speaking of, speaking of doomsday. Speaking of, speaking of doomsday, a wild rumor suggests that Avengers doomsday will give us one of the most cunning deceptions in MCU history as it all. Thanks to Dr. Doom. Who's played by Robert Downey Jr. It's being said that doom reportedly uses his resemblance to Tony Stark to manipulate
[01:05:56] the Avengers exploiting their very legacy Stark left behind. Doom's plan hinges on one crucial detail. His appearance is claimed in doomsday. Victor Von Doom takes advantage of his resemblance to Tony to present himself as an ally to the MCU. Taco's on the table. How do you see RDJ as Dr. Doom that will factor into the storyline? I got one. Ready for this? Yeah. Ready? Ready? Go for it. Dr. Doom finds a way to change that nanotech, right?
[01:06:25] So everybody sees Tony's face. Oh, that's, yeah. That's something Victor Von Doom could do too. Victor Von Doom, remember, I think everybody forgets that Victor Von Doom's two big things is that he is a magical being. Like he practices magic, but he's also a technocrat. Like he, he, he's a techno bro. He's, he is a tech bro for sure. You know, he's, he's, he's a tech genius at the level that Tony Stark is. He's like a lead at the Best Buy Geek Squad. Yes, absolutely. Absolutely.
[01:06:55] Um, no, I, I like that, but I was also thinking, isn't, that's kind of stepping on Mysterio's toes, but not really. I mean, that's like a reality type thing. But Mysterio in the comics is not like a real, like, you know, tech genius. He just manipulates, uh, holograph, hologram technology. So it's like, you know, he, he, he makes it seem like he is a tech genius, but he's not really. And he uses holograms more than anything to make it seem like he knows magic.
[01:07:21] So it's like, I just think that since they're doing this, they better fucking land it. Yeah, no, I agree with you. I agree with you a hundred percent that they better fucking landed if they're going to have this is, you know, Robert Downey Jr. helped launch the MCU. I would really hate it if Robert Downey Jr. helped kill the MCU because that's the kind of stakes that we're talking about.
[01:07:45] It would be poetic for him to kill it somehow and start a new, a new universe, so to speak. Called the RDJU. Yeah, exactly. RDJU. Exactly. Any tacos on the table? How do you think RDJ as Dr. Doom will factor into the storyline? I feel like this is going to be one of those.
[01:08:07] He was a version of Tony Stark or that Tony Stark went to Lat, Laveria, Latveria, Latveria. And he's like a descendant or something. And which, yeah, I think that, I think that's probably, I don't know. I think that's it. I don't think they'll explain it. They're, they're, they're already planting the seeds for, for Dr. Doom and Daredevil. Cause last week they were talking about Latveria. I know. I was like, did they just say Latveria? Yeah. Oh my God.
[01:08:36] She was like, uh, you're Latverian, right? Like, Oh, they didn't. They just, they just did this. I missed that. Oh, then when they were talking to the girl in the courtroom. Yeah. They were talking to the girl in the courtroom. Uh, the, um, so when Matt goes to get the, uh, he was trying to get the guy's sentence, the probation. Yeah. Right. He goes to go talk to the, the, the court reporter and he tells her, uh, you're Latverian. Right. And she goes, don't use my heritage against me. Yeah. I didn't even, that one flew right by me. Yeah.
[01:09:05] I did like what you have to say about Mysterio. Like if he pulls Mysterio's tech and then he pulls, you know, Tony's tech, like that would be kind of interesting. He finds a way to manipulate it, throw on some magic, throw on some magic hands. Dr. Doom. Jazz hands. Uh, Dr. Doom is what Mysterio wishes he was. Right. Yeah. Like Mysterio is a tech guy. Timo. He's the Timo person. He's the Timo doctor, uh, Dr. Doom.
[01:09:32] Just like, just like how Matt Aguilar is who we want to be. Oh yeah. Absolutely. 100%. Okay. Cool. I mean, he's cool, but I kind of like me. Yeah. You can be you. I want to be Matt. Right. Okay. Phil. You know what I want to do? I want to talk about the next, uh, the, the, the next thing going on here because, uh, right here. Because, uh, speaking of, speaking of Dooms or, uh, I mean, Daredevil, cause I was talking about Daredevil. Uh, are we getting the band back together? Sweet Christmas.
[01:10:02] Because it's sweet Christmas. Yes. Because the second season of Daredevil born again is currently in production. And the new rumor suggests that Matt Murdock will be putting together his own team to combat a growing threat in New York City. One spearheaded by Mayor Wilson Fisk. Wait. So they're going to team up? No. They're, he's, he's getting, he's getting the team together to fight Mayor Wilson Fisk. Oh, okay. All right. All right. All right. All right.
[01:10:29] Uh, as for what's coming, Fisk will reportedly assemble an anti-vigilante task force to take his crusade to the next level. At least one former defender is rumored to appear. Beyond that, the possibilities are wide open. So tacos on the table. Who do you want Daredevil to recruit? So are we talking dance battle level? Next level? Oh, absolutely. Dance battle level. All right. I think so. Who would you want on your dance team? Also, uh, Luke Cage all day.
[01:10:57] As much as everybody wants it to be, uh, Jessica Jones. Everybody wants Jessica Jones to be the character. I think Feige said he wants Jessica Jones next anyways. Yeah. Uh, I want to see Luke Cage. I, I'm sorry. It's where, where we left Luke Cage basically being the King of Harlem. I, I want to see Luke Cage. I want to see where he's been at for the last however many years. Um, Iron Fist. I'm not in a hurry to see Iron Fist mainly because they're already talking about rebooting him for Shang-Chi too.
[01:11:26] So I'm okay with waiting for him in Shang-Chi too. Uh, I do want to see, I want to see, I want to see the Daughters of the Dragon in general. Yeah. Like Misty Knight, like we don't need to see her in full regalia, but like just him talking to Misty in a scene is enough to kind of get me going. Yeah. I would like to see that. I do. I, I think we're going to get more than one. I think we'll get a couple. Yeah. Um, I'm pretty sure we're going to get Jessica and I bet we'll get Luke Cage. Yeah.
[01:11:55] But you think there'll be a couple? I think this might be the start of them being a couple. Well, they, they, they teased it a little in the defenders just a smidge, but you know, and they're not going to get Rosaria Dawson back because she's doing a little thing called Ahsoka. Uh, so she'll come back. She's in another galaxy. Yeah. No, she'll come back as night nurse. It'll, it'll happen. Yeah. So, um, so I think here's the question though. Maybe we'll get that. Do we get She-Hulk? Like, why can't he just call up She-Hulk? And be like, what up boo? That's true.
[01:12:25] I think the next time we'll see She-Hulk and you guys are going to be like, no, at Wonder Man. I can see that too. Yeah. By the way, think, think of the tonal difference between Daredevil born again and She-Hulk. Like how did they ever think to put Daredevil in She-Hulk when they knew they were going to do Daredevil born again and have this dark gritty tone and then put them in probably the, you know, the, I don't know, campiest of, of shows in She-Hulk.
[01:12:55] Two words, two words, Charlie Cox. I think a lot of it is also because they kind of know how versatile Matt Murdock can be. And they're both lawyers. Yeah. So they, there's that spin on it as well. And that gives, that's a, a reasonable buy-in for viewers to believe that they would get in contact with each other. Like they would come across each other. Yeah. So. I mean, Matt Murdock also represented Spider-Man. So. Yeah. Uh-huh.
[01:13:24] How did you do that? I'm a really good lawyer. I'm a really good lawyer. Uh, yeah. So. All seriousness. I think they're going. I got butterflies in my stomach when we talked about that. Just like, no. I don't know why that was such a memorable moment for me. I don't, I don't think they're going to do anybody that's not street level. So like I was joking about She-Hulk. I don't think he's going to be on the show. No. But I, I think there may be new recruits.
[01:13:51] Maybe like White Tiger inspired people. Like maybe it's, I think it was White Tiger's niece. Rumor has it his niece becomes the next White Tiger. Well, right. I mean, and she, isn't she White Tiger in the comics? In the comics. She's currently White Tiger in the comics. So I think by the end of the show, I think she's actually supposed to be White Tiger. Yeah, I think that they're going for that.
[01:14:12] And then we also have to remember Jessica has her BFF that isn't she like, isn't Trisha a superhero as well? Isn't she like the cat wears blue and yellow? Blue. She's Wolverine the cat? No, not Wolverine. Yeah, Wolverine the cat. You know, that's my DJ name, by the way. Wolverine the cat. That's actually a good DJ name. Okay. Yeah, I don't know. We'll look that up. Was that our last rumor?
[01:14:41] I think it was. I think that was the last rumor. It's time to jump into news if you guys are ready. Yeah, let's do that. And I'll try and find out what the hell I'm talking about. All right. Well, let's do this, guys. Well, you've got to do some casting, so I don't know. Yeah. Well, let's get into the download, guys, because it's time for the download. All right. Well, before we jump into the rest of this, it's time to turn over the entire screen to our favorite fray.
[01:15:11] Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for Casting Rumors with Jen. Hi. It's me. It's-a me, Jen. It's me, Jen. And my new background. It's getting a little spooky in the corral tonight. Bring a flashlight and stay together. So, this first one is, this is so not kick-ass. So not kick-ass. Chloe Grace Moritz has signed on to star in the upcoming serial Thriller Killer Thriller.
[01:15:41] It's in here somewhere. Thriller Killer. Killer Thriller. The Edge of Normal from director Carlotta Peretti. Peretta Peretta. I guess she did Piggy. I haven't seen that. I feel like I'm like 80 talking about this. Did you see Piggy? All right. Filming is due to kick off this spring. So, what has Chloe gotten herself into this time, y'all? I mean, Chloe Grace Moritz has been doing a lot of kind of more edgy things lately.
[01:16:11] And I think it's just like, you know, as she gets older, she kind of just wants to set herself as like, she doesn't want to get pigeonholed into like different kinds of roles. I mean, how do you get pigeonholed into any role when you play the character she played in Kick-Ass? But I mean, you know, I just see her just kind of like, okay, I'm going to play whatever roles I want to play. Yeah. And think about it, too. Like, when you're a child actor and now you're in your 20s, like, you've been at this for, you know, 15, 20 years. Yeah. So, you're like, I'll do whatever I want to do.
[01:16:43] Well, everything seems to be horror-leaning lately for younger actors. And so, you know, I think it's cool. And if she's playing the serial killer, then Righteous, good for her. Go female power. I'm all for that. All right. I'm also looking for the Trish Walker. Look, do the next one and then we'll get to Trish Walker. Are they coming back to the scene of the crime?
[01:17:12] John Lithgow and Jimmy Smith are reprising their iconic roles as Arthur Mitchell, a.k.a. the Trinity Killer, and Miguel Prado in Showtime's Dexter Resurrection, which has been filming in New York since January. So, I have a couple of questions, though. Who are they? I have never watched this. I didn't watch the first time Dexter was on. I just need somebody to explain to me why this is significant.
[01:17:39] So, John Lithgow, I want to say it was either season three or season four, was one of the – so, he was the Trinity Killer. He was the main, like, serial killer that Dexter was looking for in that season. Oh. Oh. Do you know how to explain it either? Well, I haven't watched it in a while. Oh, okay. But, I mean, I remember John Lithgow being the main villain in that season. Okay. So, basically, it's just, like, these guys were –
[01:18:08] And John Lithgow was, like, the most iconic villain of that entire show. Okay. Okay. All right. So, like, his Moriarty kind of thing. Kind of, yeah. He was, like, the one that kept getting away, and he would, like, throw Dexter off the trail, and Dexter would, like, kill another person that he thought was the Trinity Killer, and then be like, nope, you didn't get me, and he'd kill somebody else. Mm-hmm. So, like, the Trinity Killer was, like, he was, like, the one that got away every time. Okay. All right. Okay. All right. That makes sense then. All right.
[01:18:35] And Jimmy Smith, he was Senator Amidala in the – Senator Amidala? Yeah. And so, what is he doing? Why is he alive right now? Are you sure it's Senator Amidala? Are you ruining the joke? Are you going to – Oh, my God. Go to the next one, then, because James ruined it. Go to the next one. No, he's mad because he's specifically trying to get a joke in there,
[01:19:05] but I'm ruining it for him. Yep. Yeah, yeah. Trish Walker, Hellcat. I put it in the chat. She's Hellcat. Yeah, she's Hellcat. Well, I looked it up. I said I was going to look it up, and I did that bit. Yeah. I don't know if I'm a fan of this one. Mockingbird raised Jason. What? 824 and Peacock have officially cast Linda Cardellini in the Friday the 13th-inspired prequel series Crystal Lake.
[01:19:33] She will play Jason's infamous mother, Pamela Voorhees, who gave up a singing career to raise a special needs child. So, do the murders only happen on a Friday the 13th, or, like, what's the significance of that? Yes. That's what happened. I think it was, like, yeah. I think that was what it was. Really? That's okay. All right. Well, I mean, I was just curious. No. While I figure out what these projects are all about, please proceed to the gift shop for our merch, people.
[01:20:03] Because we got merch, people! I was ready for you this time. All right. Move along. All right. [01:20:33] I can't. Yeah, that. Hey, Phoenix. Phoenix changes the guy. You know what I mean? I'm not a fan of Phoenix Phil. Yeah. Phoenix Phil is a different type of Phil. I want a spatch. Jesus. All right. Adrian! Adrian! We're going back to Oklahoma! Paramount Plus is keeping Sylvester Stallone's mob drama Tulsa King rolling, officially greenlighting the series for a third season.
[01:21:01] Taking the reins as showrunner for season three is David Erickson, who previously helmed Mayor of Kingstown, which is another Taylor Sheridan series for Paramount Plus. Dude, Taylor Sheridan. So many shows. Tulsa King has been a huge hit for Paramount Plus, breaking records when its second season premiered with 21.1 million global viewers, making it the most watched debut in the platform's history.
[01:21:31] Oh, my gosh. Are any of you guys watching Tulsa King? No. No, but is Frey seeing Sylvester Stallone walk in the streets of Oklahoma getting tacos? No. I don't think she's a fan of him right now. I'm not a fan of any of it. Tulsa King or any of it. I've actually heard a lot of good things about the show in general. I've heard it's good. I like Reservation Dog. That's a whole different monster. And I've heard nothing but good things about that show. Yeah.
[01:22:00] I like School Spirits. Speaking of Paramount Plus sequels, Paramount Plus is keeping the supernatural drama School Spirits alive. As the streaming service has officially been renewed for the third season, which is set to premiere in 2026. The latest season saw a major audience surge, drawing an average of 3.9 million viewers in its first 28 days. Wow. Which is impressive.
[01:22:27] 94% increase from the first season. Yeah. They pushed a hard campaign for season two. That's amazing. I saw the ads for this everywhere. Mm-hmm. You know, so they tried to make sure that people knew that this show existed. I mean, also, you know, the lead from Karate Kid. So, I mean. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. Exactly. Big hit. Huge. Cool. Keep it going. Absolutely. So, let's continue on here.
[01:22:57] Over to Amazon for some God news. Oh, yeah. Amazon is fully invested in God of War, the upcoming live-action adaptation of Santa Monica Studios' beloved PlayStation franchise, has been given a two-season order. Showrunner Ron Moore. That's right. The Ronald D. Moore from Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek The Next Generation confirmed the news in a recent interview with Katie Sackhoff. What? They're just keeping all the secrets, both Katie Sackhoff and Ron Moore, right?
[01:23:26] Saying, right now, I'm working on an adaptation of there's a video game called God of War, a big title in the gaming world that Amazon has ordered two seasons of, and they've asked me to come in. So, no date on when the war is coming to Amazon Prime Video, but also, do you guys think Triple H is going to play Kratos? And why do you think that's actually happening? My tacos are off the table. Are there any tacos? There's no tacos. No, there's not.
[01:23:56] There actually was a rumor for a while that they were going to cast Paul Levesque, but I don't think Paul's going to do that. He has so much going on with WWE. Yeah. But he actually does look like Kratos, if you look at him. Mm-hmm. With his beard, he looks like Kratos. But they need somebody a little bit taller. A little bit taller. Yeah, definitely. Getting a little short. Paul's a little short. Okay. Let's keep it going. Let's keep moving. Time to clock in for a third season. This is like the episode of sequels. Yeah. It is. It's official.
[01:24:25] Severance is coming back for season three. Apple TV Plus confirmed the renewal of the strange workplace thriller just a day before the season two finale. Creator Dan Erickson, Dan Erickson, and directed and produced by Ben Stiller, Erickson has a plan to follow below the season two premiere or before the season two premiere, excuse me. He revealed a lot is mapped out for the season three, and there's an end point for the series
[01:24:51] as a whole, and we know more or less how many seasons we are going to do. Okay. Well, tell us. I know, right? Erickson has a plan to follow. Before season two premiered, he revealed a lot is mapped out for season three, and there's an end point. Oh, yeah. I already did that part. Sorry. Ben Stiller appeared on New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelsey. Nice. All right. All right, Ben Stiller. We're also like the frickin', like, we're doing a podcast talking about other podcasts.
[01:25:20] The inception of podcasts. Right. Hey, Travis and Jason, if you'd like us to come on your show, just let us know. I know. Absolutely. Love to talk to you guys. Yeah. Ben Stiller to Distance Nerding. And that's not a big drop. Not a big drop. I know, right? Hey, Ben Stiller, if you want to come on our show, we'd love it. Maybe. I'd love it. I'd love it. I'd love it. I'd love it. I'd love it. I'd love it on the show. Fans, they would not have to wait another three years for the next season to release. I guess it took three years in between season one, season two. Right.
[01:25:49] So Ben Stiller made sure to tell everybody, hey, this will not take three years. It's likely that Severance season three will be released in the first few months of 2026 or 2027. So, yeah, I guess the release schedule is the early part of the year. Right. I actually listened to an interview that Ben Stiller did in regard to when season two came out.
[01:26:12] And he was talking about when he wrote, like, when he was in the writing room for season one, because, you know, he produced the whole show and everything. But, like, when they were going over everything, they wrote the show specifically for Adam Scott. Oh, wow. I didn't know that. Yeah. He said that he wrote the show and he was, like, in the process, like, as they were writing, he was, like, showing scripts to Adam Scott. He was like, this is for you, dude. Like, literally, I want to make this show and I want you to lead the show. And they ended up doing the first season.
[01:26:42] That's awesome. That makes no sense. Yeah. I mean, you know, just it makes an actor feel wanted. Yeah. And the whole thing was, like, Ben was talking about, like, you know, we're known for, like, doing comedies and we've known each other for years doing comedy stuff. He was like, I wanted to do something a little more, like, actor choppy. And we came up with Severance. Yeah. Ben Stiller is, he really, as a writer, I think is phenomenal. I mean, I think he's a great actor, too, but I feel like he's most creative as a writer. He's a good director, too. Yeah.
[01:27:12] Oh, he is a good director. Absolutely. I just feel like writing is his, like, that's where it all stems from. And I think that that's amazing. So kudos, Ben Stiller. Kudos. Kudos. All right. Let's keep it going. Get that Chiefs thing off my face. So rude. I love the smell of comic books in the morning. The world of the Big Bang Theory is expanding and it's putting an unlikely hero in the spotlight. The upcoming spinoff on Max has an official title.
[01:27:42] Stewart. Stewart fails to save the universe. That's so good. Sort of rude. That's so good, though. Dude, if you know Stewart, that makes sense. Apparently you know Stewart. Oh, I do. He's like one of my favorite characters on that show just because he's so weird. Okay, Kevin Sussman's lovable yet perpetually down on his luck. Stewart Bloom is taking center stage in the series. Kevin Sussman's lovable. Yeah. Why do I have that other twice?
[01:28:08] That being said, the series has yet to receive an official green light with Warner Brothers television. It's I thought this was weird before. Why are we getting all this news and casting? Like, I think Brian Posehn came out and said he was going to be part of the show, but it's not officially green lit. Is that weird? I think they're just trying to push for it because they know that people enjoy Big Bang Theory spinoffs, especially with the way everybody liked Young Sheldon.
[01:28:34] Well, and also it's still in huge rotation on like the reruns and stuff. So, yeah, you've got kids that are watching it, discovering it now, and they want more stuff. Well, why not green light it? I think Warner Brothers is being weird about all that stuff right now. I mean, they're canceling every animation show that exists and everything like that. We're going to get more into everything. We're going to get more into Warner Brothers and kind of what they're doing later. But OK. OK. Yeah. Dysfunctionalness. Yeah.
[01:29:03] But I mean, like, you know, I think they're just kind of like they're uneasy on pulling the trigger because they're afraid of anything that's going to fail. I think also because, you know, they're supposedly, you know, they're finally back in the green. So they're just like, we're just going to continue with the projects we have and we're not going to spend money on anything new until we know that we're making money for sure. I yeah, the greed aspect of it is what pisses me off. So we're not going to get into that anymore. Yeah. I wish things were more sunny over there.
[01:29:33] Oh, yeah. I love the transition. Last time around the sun for this show. It was previously announced that Hulu's animated comedy Solar Opposites was returning for a sixth season, but has now been confirmed that season six will be the show's last. So we do have an offsets of James. You will view or Jack. The official Solar Opposites final season opposite synopsis. The official Solar Opposites final season opposite synopsis.
[01:30:04] Synopsis. Got him. I got him. Don't cough. Don't fake it. I got you. I cough. Oh, you got me. You for sure. You got me. Witness the wild chaos of this unhinged alien family as they get into hilarious mischief. All while the final chapter of an epic drama unfolds for the shrunken people. They've been imprisoned in their wall as the Solar Opposites navigate their unforgettable farewell. Expect laugh out loud surprises at every turn.
[01:30:32] And remember me and Jen have talked about this. The only reason we watch it is for the little people on the wall. It's the wall. It's the wall. All we care about is the shrunken people on the wall. God, I hope that gets resolved. I mean, if this is the final season, I'm sure it will be. I hope so. The final season will premiere this fall with an exact premiere date to be announced in the future. I would think that that would be win because I don't think you can announce it in the past. For that, you'd have to be born again.
[01:31:01] And is this franchise about to be born again? Looks like Jason Bourne franchise is looking for a new home. It's been reported that the long-running Bourne franchise is officially in the market and stepping away from its home at Universal Pictures. The rights are now being shopped around with WME repping the estate of late author Robert Ludlam and overseeing the sale among those reportedly kicking.
[01:31:28] The tires is Skydance, Apple, and Netflix. The Bourne movies have brought in $1.6 billion globally over five films. Whichever studio wins, it's lucky they will reboot the franchise. And not hard to imagine. It'll be adapted into a series like Jack Ryan or Reacher or all the other spies. Shoot them up. Shooty, shooty, pew, pew shows. What were they called? Dad TV? Dad TV. Dad TV.
[01:31:58] Shout out to Kofi. Which studio would you like to see take over the Bourne franchise? At this point, I bet you it's going to be Amazon because they have Jack Ryan and Reacher. So it's like, let's just put it all together. All these dad shows are going to be on Amazon. I would like to see it on Amazon, but I think it's going to be Apple. I can see that too. Sacramento Deadpool with Matt Damon becomes a Disney princess. He already is. Matt Damon. I don't know.
[01:32:27] I could definitely see Amazon going after this. Like, let's buy a pretty established IP. Don't they also have James Bond? Yeah. Yeah. Oh, wow. Basically, Amazon is becoming the studio for spy thrillers. That's true. And they have Citadel from the Russos. That's right. They do have Citadel too. And I think that had a spinoff as well. Yeah. All right. So what do you think about Amazon with Power Rangers?
[01:32:56] Oh, well, let's talk about that because more movie news. And this one is close to my heart. The long-awaited final film of Jason David Frank, Legend of the White Dragon, is finally within reach. Executive producer Chris Jay confirms that the film is now picture locked, marking a big milestone in its journey to completion. The remaining work, including color correction and sound mixing, is now in the hands of a third party specialist.
[01:33:24] That process is expected to take around three months, after which discussions with potential distribution can officially begin. The film should be fully completed by June, at which point the release date should become a lot more clearer. While the exact distribution plan is still being determined, an official press release confirms that the team is aiming for a theatrical release. All right. Okay. I like it. Yeah. It's a big deal for me just because I've said it multiple times.
[01:33:54] I was a massive JDF fan and it broke my heart to hear that he passed, especially the circumstances around how he passed. You know, so I definitely want to see this just because I want to see JDF's last movie. Yeah. And this was supposed to be like a passion project for him. It's something that he was working on for a long time. Whoa. Whoa, whoa, whoa. What is this? Sack Deadpool? Yeah. I worked on the pilot trailer for this? What? Wait.
[01:34:23] How come we didn't talk about this? Sack Deadpool is also, he's also filmed for Power Rangers. What? There's a Deadpool Ranger? Yeah. There is a Deadpool Ranger. Gotta make sense. That would actually be a good little cosplay mashup. Yeah. Look at Sai Wong. Wait, wait, wait, wait. This is getting released? Oh. Oh. Sack Deadpool is sending me a picture right now. Oh, that's awesome. Well, that's good. Look, Sandra, Betty in the chat. I need to see this.
[01:34:51] I love Forever JDF. Yeah. I think there's going to be a lot of fans. Dude, when we were at Power Morphin Con a few months ago, Power Rangers is still such a big franchise. Yeah. Power Ranger fans are diehard Power Ranger fans. Oh, hold on. Aside from that, I just noticed this. He sent me this. Ben Stiller tagged him in a tag. Wow. That's awesome. Ben Stiller tagged Sack Deadpool? Sack Deadpool with something. That's amazing.
[01:35:21] On his personal page. Why do we have a show? Sack Deadpool, get a microphone and take over. Because I don't know what we're doing here. Yeah. I don't know why we have a show when you're over here. You can get Ben Stiller on the show. Exactly. Apparently, you know Ben Stiller enough to where he's tagging you and stuff. All right. Speaking of Sack Deadpool, I mean, speaking of Power Rangers news, Disney Plus is developing a brand new live action Power Rangers with Percy Jackson and the Olympian showrunner,
[01:35:49] Jonathan Steinberg and Dan Schatz in talks to write, showrun, and produce with 20th Century TV. Hasbro, which has owned Power Rangers since 2018, is backing the series as part of a larger effort to reimagine the franchise for a new generation. See, Power Rangers just keeps going. Hasbro Entertainment has been aggressively expanding its media footprint with projects
[01:36:14] like Clue reimagining at Sony, Dungeons and Dragons series, Forgotten Realms at Netflix, and Magic the Gathering animated show from Star Trek Picard showrunner Terry Metalis. No dates when the new series will go, go Disney Rangers. Cheers. That's funny.
[01:36:37] Actually, a friend of the show, Brandon McKinney, is working on Magic the Gathering, and he's told me a lot of good things about the show. So I'm excited to see it. I'm happy that Netflix is bringing it back. Awesome. Breaking NDA secrets. No, no. He told me at like two cons ago that- Okay. Oh, you're talking about the thing he's doing. I was talking about Power Rangers. No, no. He's doing Magic the Gathering. Right. No. He told me a while back-
[01:37:06] I misunderstood it. No. Okay. Sorry. Yeah. He told me a while back that we can talk about it now because when they canceled it, he was allowed to talk about it. Oh, yeah. That's right. We talked about it about a month ago. We were talking about it. Power Rangers. Coming back. I like it. And I think, you know, it's funny because they had that Power Ranger movie, what, like six years ago? Yeah. And I think we learned a lot of how to reboot and how not to reboot franchises.
[01:37:33] So I'm excited for what they do with new Power Rangers. Yeah. Go ahead. No. Here. Hey, please emote away. Please finish your tweet. I would like to talk about some more Disney Plus news. Do it. Do it. Disney Plus has given a season three renewal to the series Percy Jackson's and the Olympians, everyone. Yay! Yay!
[01:38:02] Next time I want more yay. Ahead of the show's season two premiere, which is set for the end of this year, Disney has announced that the show's second season will debut in December of 2025. What the what? I have to wait until December. Okay. I'm coming back. I'm back. Though an exact date has yet to be revealed. Well, you know what? We're going to talk about other months besides December. It's going to be a little Christmas present.
[01:38:29] A little Percy, a little Percy present under your tree. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. We'll talk about it. And if you're Jewish, maybe you get it early. Maybe you get eight episodes for Hanukkah. Eight episodes for Hanukkah. Guys, real quick. I've got to show you these pictures because I'm super excited about this. So this is that movie. This is Legend of the White Tiger, right? Uh-huh. That's Sack Deadpool right there. Oh, wow. Okay. That's not him. That's him.
[01:38:56] Next picture over, him and RDJ or RDF. Oh, wow. Or him and JDF right there, right? Also him right there. There we go. There we go. Him in the middle right there. How cool is that? That's awesome. We got us a celebrity in the chat. That's him in the Blue Ranger costume. Wow. That's so dope, dude. I, okay. James called your bluff. Sack Deadpool, we haven't interviewed you on the show, right?
[01:39:23] We got to have him on the show as a guest. That would be fun. We got to go look up your IMDb now. You know what? I'm talking about more Disney fans. Oh, that's right, because that's what we're going to do. And I'm super excited about this. Too much Disney Plus. Back to movies. Remember me? No, you never. Remember me. I know that's what you wanted me to do.
[01:39:52] I intentionally had to go, let me say it this way. Get ready to return to the land of the dead as Disney has officially announced. They are developing Coco 2, the movie that made me cry because it reminded me of my grandmother. During Disney's annual stockholder meeting, CEO Bob Iger, who confirmed that Pixar is developing a sequel to the beloved 2017 film with a theatrical release plan for 2029. Holy crap.
[01:40:21] It's so far away. It's closer than you think. 2029 is so far away. Give me one second here. It's an Olympics away from right now. Yeah, it really is an Olympics away. It's another president away. It's another president. Do I do a third term? We'll only find out. The film was a massive success, winning two Academy Awards, including Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for Remember Me.
[01:40:51] The Spanish version is better. I haven't seen Coco. What? Recuerdame. Recuerdame. So, look guys, I have some trauma, okay? And it just hits a little too close to home. It involves dead Mexicans? Oh, shit. Yeah.
[01:41:11] Alongside Coco 2, Disney is also working on a Coco-themed ride for Disney California Adventure, expanding the film's presence in the parks, which we will get to shortly here. We're going to be talking about that soon. You have to watch that movie. It's so good. So good. No. You know what? I'm tired of you bullying me into watching movies. It's a good movie. It doesn't matter. It doesn't work. I tell Liam to watch all these movies, and he goes, oh, yeah, that sounds great. And then he doesn't watch them. Hey, welcome to parroting him.
[01:41:41] Oh, my gosh. I want to ground him, make him watch movies. Hey, I watched Lilo and Stitch and enjoyed it, okay? See? See? And you know what? I've already seen Mulan, so I don't need to see that. I watched that already. Did you see the live-action Mulan? I did not, but I have a... It's actually good. I don't watch versions of animated Disney movies. Whether it's a remake or not, it's just a good movie. Okay.
[01:42:11] Like, the end is very different than the actual animated version. Really? Plus, there's a lot more fighty-fighty. They tried to follow the actual story. Oh, okay. Like, the actual legend. Still not... Oh. It's still not, you know, exactly what the legend of Mulan actually is, what Fa-Mulan is. But they were a lot closer in the movie than they were in the animated one. Not to say the animated one wasn't good, but I'm just saying, like, they tried to follow the actual legend of Fa-Mulan a little bit more closely.
[01:42:40] How is it on the scale of Raya and the Last Dragon? Oh, it's right up there. It's up there with Raya and the Last Dragon. Raya and the Last Dragon was good. I love... That's currently my favorite Disney movie. That and Encanto. I, like, go back and forth. I'm trying to think if there's a live-action adaptation that I like better than Mulan. I don't... I mean, Maleficent was kind of nice. A lot of people like Aladdin. Yeah. I haven't seen any of those. Like, I really don't...
[01:43:08] Like, if I am a stan for the animated... I'm like, no. I saw the best version of this, and there's no topping it. But you don't know it's the best version. To me, it is. Okay. But you're also judging... I did see Cinderella. I did see the live-action version of Cinderella. Well, let's not start there. Why do we got to start there? I don't know. She had cool shoes. It's the shoes that got you. I get it. It was the shoes. Oh, we're going to keep it going.
[01:43:35] This is the way to Star Wars news. Jon Favreau's Mandalorian and Grogu is breaking new ground as potentially the most budget-conscious live-action installment of Star Wars in the Disney-Lucas film era. I've heard about this. That's a weird way to make news. Since Disney's acquisition of Star Wars, Lucas has poured a massive budget into each of its films. Rogue One came in at $200 million.
[01:44:03] Last Jedi became $317 million. Mandalorian and Grogu is sitting at a comparative $166.4 million. It's like half the price of The Last Jedi. Making it the least expensive Star Wars theatrical release since Disney took the reign. Star Wars Celebration Japan is coming up next month. Fans might not have to wait too long to get the first sneak peek of Mandalorian and Grogu. Oh, my God. I didn't even think about that.
[01:44:34] Oh, interesting. The film is currently in post-production and is set to hit theaters May 22, 2026. Yeah, I think our friends over at Comic Book Nation were talking about this on Friday. Yeah. And they were talking about like, you know, this is the lowest budget Star Wars movie ever. This is the way. But also, not just with that, Kofi was saying that he thinks that they're going to go the route of Western.
[01:45:04] Like, they're going to focus on it being like a Western. And Westerns were, you know, I mean, you know, historically they were cheaper to make. Yeah. So, and that's the reason why they made so many Westerns back in the day was because of how cheap they were to make. But here's the difference. Horses don't have to be CGI'd in. Yeah, true. Spaceships do. Mm-hmm. So, that's going to make it kind of cost prohibitive. But spaceships, you don't have to clean up their poop.
[01:45:32] So, it's kind of a walk. Yeah, so you're not hiring a guy to clean space poop. No, you're hiring a team of people to create something that isn't there. No. No, because the thing is also, if you have a movie where it's really just, you're going back to that first season of The Mandalorian. Sorry, I had a hit there. You're going back to the first season of The Mandalorian, and it's the wolf and the cub concept, right?
[01:46:00] And it's them kind of investigating stuff and kind of tracking things down and tracking down leads. And it leads to a lot of conflict going on here. Somebody's trying to be sly with their snacks, and it's not working. I caught y'all. There's snacks happening. Are you eating cookies? What's going on here? I feel the tingle. I feel the snack tingle happening. Oh, I feel the tingle. Oh, yeah. I'm opening veggie chips. Okay.
[01:46:28] But no, so what they were saying. You guys are like, oh. That's not as fun. So, it's like, think of an entire movie of just like, you know, wolf and cub. And then at the very end, you have like, you know, the big final fight scene. And that's where the majority of the budget goes. I can see it. Yeah. I mean, but one of the main characters is a puppet. True. I mean, I'm totally on board. I'm really excited about it. I'm just trying to be the devil's advocate for this. Philippe, tingles.
[01:46:57] Ooh, tingles. No, read the next one. No. Your tingle's not going off. Oh, jeez. Oh, my God. I'm on the show. Philippe, tingles. Oh, God. I forgot to change the picture, apparently. I was moving too fast here. Oh, wait a minute. What is this? This is not. I don't know where that came from. All right. Kevin and Peter are tingling again for the first time.
[01:47:27] Kevin Smith is finally getting his shot at writing Amazing Spider-Man just over two decades later than originally planned. This summer, Marvel Comics is dropping Giant Size Amazing Spider-Man number one, the special event issue that sees Spidey team up with the Fantastic Four. Smith has had an interesting history with Marvel.
[01:47:46] His Daredevil, Guardian Devil, ran from 1998, was a massive success, giving the man without fear a fresh direction, which led Marvel to offer him Amazing Spider-Man in 2002. But Smith's Hollywood commitments clashed with the demands of a monthly comic book schedule, forcing Marvel to rework his initial six-issue Spidey story into a miniseries, Spider-Man Black Cat, the evil that men do.
[01:48:11] At one point, Marvel offered him another Spider-Man series under the Marvel Knights imprint, but scheduling conflicts once again shut that down. So guys, Giant Size Comics Spider-Man number one swings into comic shops on June 11th of 2025 this year. That is two massive franchises that Kevin Smith is writing right now. Yeah. Well, and the Spider-Man Black Cat, the evil that men do is an excellent miniseries. It is.
[01:48:38] Not only does he have Spider-Man right now, he's also doing a giant silent Bob meet Archie. Right? So he's also got like an Archie run happening right now. So it's kind of crazy that he's writing an Archie run and a Spider-Man run right now. He's just doing like any project that sounds fun to him. He's like, I'll do this. But he's always been that way. Yeah, I'm just going to make another movie that I want to make. Okay, great. I'm going to go write Spider-Man. Okay, great. Must be nice.
[01:49:04] I think now the difference between then and now is that he's better at time management. See, that's the thing is because I think he's already had these written for a while. And I think he's probably just been writing them because I know he said that he's going he's doing another movie next month. Gotcha. All right. All right. Wow. You know who may not be doing a movie next month? Young Phil. Oh, God. Okay. So this is this was the news. That was kind of what I was talking about.
[01:49:34] Warner Brothers might piss me off. Why do I feel like Warner Brothers is going through divorce where their partner is taking them to the cleaners? Because I think that's what's happening right now. I do. It looks like Warner Brothers may finally be ready to sell Coyote versus Acme, which he's sell it if you're not going to do not write it off. David Zaslav. Do not write this movie off. Every actor who is involved in this movie. I'm sorry. I'm already getting into it.
[01:49:59] According to sources, distributor, financer, ketchup entertainment is in advanced negotiations to acquire the film for around 50 million, which is a lot less than what what Warner Brothers wanted to sell it for. This would be a major move for ketchup entertainment, which has been quietly, quietly expanding its footprint in Hollywood.
[01:50:20] If the deal goes through Wile E. Coyote's long delayed battle against battle against the Acme Corporation could finally make it to the big screen with the actual release currently eyed for 2026. Despite testing well with audiences, which apparently is tested very well with audiences, the film became a high profile casualty of Warner Brothers cost cutting strategy.
[01:50:41] Like Batgirl, like Scoob, the holiday haunt, Coyote versus Acme was axed in favor of a tax write off, leaving fans outraged and creatives frustrated. If ketchup pulls off this deal, Wile E. Coyote's day in court could finally happen on the biggest screen possible. Hashtag justice for Wile E. Coyote. Hashtag release the condiment cut. The condiment cut. No. So here's the thing. That was clever. It's very good.
[01:51:09] Ketchup Entertainment is also the company that bought the day the earth blew up. Yeah. And they're the reason that that movie got released. So it seems like Warner Brothers really is trying to get rid of Looney Tunes. Like they just want to just ax out Looney Tunes altogether. I think it is partially because they want to seem like a more serious company and they think that stuff like Looney Tunes is just like childish and, you know, doesn't it isn't good for kids and whatnot.
[01:51:35] But like, you know, Eric Bauza has been like really advocating for this movie. And I mean, Eric Bauza probably plays like four or five characters in the movie to begin with. Yeah. You know, but I mean, like the thing is, is Eric Bauza has really been like this movie is amazing. And I don't know why Warner Brothers doesn't want to put it out. You know, every actor that's in this movie has all said that it is probably one of the best live action Looney Tunes movies they've done, which they've done a lot.
[01:52:03] You know, it's like the Luka Donuts trade. Yeah. Because you know that the Dallas team is going to Las Vegas and this was just the first sell though. Yeah. And the thing is, is like, again, like the big deal with this thing that really pisses me off is like Warner Brothers is like everybody knows about this. We're still going to go sell it. You know, like they've been selling off all these movies to make tax breaks and that way they can make their money back.
[01:52:27] And it's like, that's the way that they, that's the way they want, they want to like, that's how they've been getting in the green is by doing stuff like this. At the cost of like pissing off the fans and pissing off people who are going to give them money. And like tarnishing some very beloved like characters. Yeah. By like just making them not available. Yeah. Now the other thing is, Sack Deadpool saying they should sell Batgirl.
[01:52:57] The thing is they can't because they already got the tax break for Batgirl. So if anything, anything involving that movie leaks, they lose that tax break. So they've been like, they've really, or they have to pay it back. So they've really been making a big deal of making sure everything disappears in regards to Batgirl. So, um, I think, I think this, uh, coyote versus Acme, I think it costs 70 million for a cell. So selling it for 50 million still gives them a net loss.
[01:53:27] Right. They were trying to sell it for 65. Yeah. They were trying to sell it for 65. And I think what's going on now is ketchup is the only company in the game that's trying to buy it. Uh, which I'm sure they're going to look for like, you know, either if, if they don't distribute it themselves, they're going to look for another distributor. But like, you know, the, the, the big thing is like a 50,000. That's kind of a kick, kick to the nuts to David Zasloff. I'm sure it is the way that he's looking at it, but it's like, you know, like they, they really need sell it to catch up.
[01:53:55] Let catch up, put it out, sell the rights to, to, uh, to all of Mary melodies and Looney tunes to catch up entertainment. Because apparently Warner brothers doesn't want anything to do with it. And Warner brothers isn't going to respect something that's been around as long as it has. And is, uh, has as much cultural impact as it does. If you're not going to respect it, sell it to catch up, let catch up, do their thing. I'm all for that. Okay. Get away from it. Zasloff. Stop messing with things. Zasloff.
[01:54:25] Yeah. Zasloff stuff on it. It's so Zasloffy. Before we move on to this next story, um, in regard to Batgirl, um, uh, there was a leak that happened over the, I think it was over the weekend, um, that Warner brothers let go. And it was only because it wasn't actual footage from the movie. Uh, somebody from the stunt team. And I don't, I don't think it was, you know, the person we know that did stunts on that movie. So we know somebody who did stunts on that movie.
[01:54:53] Um, but someone from the stunt team, uh, released footage of them practicing stunts for the movie. And Warner brothers, uh, didn't take it down because they were like, well, technically this is really just a stunt team, uh, promoting the stunts and not the actual movie. Right. Um, but yeah, like it's, it's the, the, the, the stunt work that they, that they did, the choreography they were doing for Batman was like, was awesome. If you get a chance to go catch that video. Well, put it somewhere, dude. I want to see it. Uh, I'll find it. It's on YouTube.
[01:55:22] I'll find it. Okay. We'll keep going because no money for more Disney plus content, but sure. Let's redo some parks. All right. Uh, this is, this is what Bob Iger cares about. He doesn't care about Disney plus he wants the parks.
[01:55:38] So Disney CEO, Bob Iger just laid out the company's ambitious future for their theme parks during the annual shareholders meeting with a massive $60 billion investment planned for the next decade. Wow. Among the announcements is the largest expansion in magic kingdoms history. That includes a new cars themed area and the long rumored villains themed land, which has been a dream for a lot of fans.
[01:56:08] Disney's animal kingdom is also getting a significant update with the addition of tropical areas, a new land featuring attractions inspired by in Kanto and Indiana Jones because in Kanto and Indiana Jones are in the same universe, right? Yes. Okay. That's 100% over on the West coast. Disney, California adventure is getting a major upgrade and he confirmed a cocoa themed ride through ride through attraction and finally made it official.
[01:56:38] A long awaited avatar destination is coming to the Disneyland resort. The timing of these expansions is no coincidence as universal prepares to launch its epic universe park in Florida this may. Oh my gosh. This may already. Yeah. The theme park was heating up and the theme park wars are heating up and Disney is making sure it stays with the curve.
[01:57:01] The massive expansion finally give Iger the love he craves from the house of mouse fans. I'll give him like a side hug, like a bro hug. I'll give him a side hug. My, my, my issue here, part, part of the reason we haven't gotten to the parks is because it is progressively getting more expensive to go to these parks. Um, the expansion is going to happen, but he's also going to use that as an excuse to raise the prices. Right. But you haven't tried their beer, yeah.
[01:57:31] I haven't been a sandwich yet. I haven't been to Disneyland since before, um, before the star Wars attraction. So there's, there's Disneyland that, you know, from before the Biria grilled cheese sandwich. And then there's Disneyland after the Biria grilled cheese sandwich and they're completely different. I'm just letting you know. Yeah. Right now. Also all my vacation time goes to cons. So that is correct.
[01:58:01] All right. Well, I mean, I will take the park expansions. I dig this. I'm glad stuff like Coco, which we heard is getting a second film is getting expanded in, into the parks. I like that. I mean, they kind of do test runs where like, they'll have like one or two characters in the parks, but now they're like, okay, this is going to stick around. This is, you know, core memories for a new generation. We need to expand this. So I'm, I'm all for this.
[01:58:28] But then they also have, um, in Frontierland, they, uh, the restaurant got themed to Coco. Yes, exactly. Exactly. Look at you. See, you know, well, that happened before the last time we were there. We got the, uh, they had like a chocolate parfait that we went over to get. Biria grilled cheese sandwiches right around the corner, bro. Make it happen. Next time we go to Disneyland in like five years when I can afford it. All right. We'll talk about it then. Who got the next one? Uh, I believe it's Jen.
[01:58:58] It's moi. C'est moi. C'est moi. C'est moi. Uh, wait, will she be Doomheart now? You guys don't like that? Doomheart? Cause Iron Man's Dr. Doom now? Uh, I, I didn't hear you right. Wow. Yeah. No, I didn't. I thought you said, I thought you said, would she be Doomheart now? And I'm like, Doomheart? Doomheart. But now I hear you. Doomheart. Okay. Maybe I didn't enunciate. No, that is, that actually is good. Wow.
[01:59:28] I feel just as heavy as she is. All right. Marvel has released some new images from their upcoming series, Ironheart. The images feature Riri Williams, played by Dominique Thorne, in her armor and taking flight. Marvel has yet to release an official trailer for the series, and it's coming out this summer, y'all. So hopefully we'll get one.
[01:59:52] Uh, Riri will be wearing a few different armor costumes over the course of the series, but it looks like she'll be spending most of the show in this early prototype suit, which is the picture we have on the screen. For those of you listening, it's the, it's a head. It's just an armored head. All right. It's her mask. It's her mask. It's an armored head. All right. So there is a synopsis. Is this thing still, is this still a thing, Obsis?
[02:00:21] This Doomheart sounds really emo synopsis. Is this still a thing, Obsis? Doomheart sounds really emo synopsis. Synopsis. Sounds really emo. Oh, Doomheart instead of Ironheart. I get it. Oh, I get it. Oh my God, James. I'm with it. It's on forever.
[02:00:46] Marvel Television's Ironheart pits technology against magic when Riri Williams, a young genius inventor, determined to make her mark on the world. Get it, Mark? Returns to her hometown of Chicago. Her unique take on building iron suits is brilliant. But in pursuit of her ambitions, she finds herself wrapped up with the mysterious yet charming Parker Robbins, a.k.a. The Hood.
[02:01:12] Ironheart premieres on Disney Plus on June 24, 2025. T5. Ooh. Okay. So, question. I keep forgetting. Oh, Mark. I get it. Because Mark, you know, Mark, whatever. Iron Man. I get it. I'm glad this is the last story because I'm done with you both. I know. I know. She's like, I'm done. You guys suck. I can't believe it's like three months away. I'm just going to eat my gummy worms and eat out.
[02:01:41] You're going to eat your gummy worms? She's going to eat her gummy worms. I am. I'm defenestrating them right now. So, no. So, what I was asking is how long after Thunderbolts is this? And Thunderbolts is May 2nd. So, it's May, June. So, a couple weeks. Yeah. So, I have a feeling the reason that they're not doing a whole bunch of promotion on this is probably because the trailer that they need to put in there might be spoilery for Thunderbolts. I think they're just trying to paste it. I mean, that's interesting.
[02:02:11] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It absolutely could be because Bucky. Right. Buckaroo. Buckaroo Banzai. Buckaroo Banzai. I think they're just trying to pace the marketing. I don't think they want to overwhelm. Like, even think about Fantastic Four. We haven't heard a lot of Fantastic Four in the last few weeks. We get, like, teases and stuff to keep us happy. But, like, we haven't heard anything in a couple weeks. You know? So, I think they're going to start ramping it up as we get closer to these and not step on their own toes.
[02:02:41] Daredevil, though. I was going to say, the other thing is they could just be waiting for Daredevil to be done. So, it's like, okay, once we're done with Daredevil, then we'll start promoting Ironheart. Thank you. So, their promotion strategy might be that they're just promoting what show is on at the time and then waiting for the next one to finish. So, like, once this is done and they start moving into Star Wars, then it's like, okay, now we can promote the next Marvel project and we'll start promoting Ironheart, like, super crazy. And then once Ironheart is done, then they promote the next show. You know? I think the next one's Wonder Man, right? I think Wonder Man's at the end of the year. Is at the end of the year.
[02:03:10] But I think that's the next Marvel show that they have coming out, though, right? Or is it Zombies? I think so. I think you're right. I think Zombies gets all released, like, in one day. Yeah. In December. But then they could do a marketing campaign for it, though. Yeah. Exactly. Exactly. Oh, Doomheart. I get it now because of Ironheart. Yeah. Okay. I hate you both. That delay is how my internet feels right now. Yeah.
[02:03:40] You know what I don't hate? Our merch. I don't hate that we have merch people. Because we got merch people! Jen hates us right now. Come on. Come on. Come on. Jen absolutely hates us right now. We got merch and we got angry fray issues. And so can you. DM us at Distance Journey. And let us know what shirt. Actually, we have the character shirt. And that's it right now. Yeah.
[02:04:10] Black shirts are gone. Black shirts are all gone. We're working on something new. Yeah. Those are the OG. We're working on something new. We'll talk about that soon. We'll get you a shirt. 20 bucks. 25 if we've got to ship it to you. $373. If you're in Florida. And we will only ship it to the border of Mississippi. I don't even know if that's next to. Florida Georgia line. Georgia. There you go. Isn't that a country band? What? Anyway. Geography.
[02:05:08] Total kiss ass. This tater guy. We love you free. No, I was going to say our stickers really were a hit. Because to a point, there were people who came up when we said, hey, free stickers. And they were like, oh, I like this one with the Deadpool and the Filipino kid. I like it. I'll take it. You know, like there were people. There were people who would like walk up and like deliberately get our sticker because they like the characters. And I was like, oh, sweet. That's me and him. That's awesome.
[02:05:38] So, yeah. So, so let us know. We will send you merch, guys. We'll send you stickers. You and him. It's me and them right there. I love it. Let's talk schedule, guys. The schedule as of right now. We are doing game streams again on Mondays. Obviously, I didn't do one this Monday because I was driving to Arizona. But I will be back in time to do a game stream this Monday.
[02:06:04] I'm going to try and see if I can fit in some game streams at some point this week while I'm out here. I may actually do one tonight. And after the stream here, after I'm done posting everything that I need to post. I kind of want to play Assassin's Creed really bad. So, I might hop on and play that. Tuesdays, the download. The show you're watching right now, 2.30 to 8.30. We went very long today, but we had a lot of stories to cover. Thursdays, the build.
[02:06:28] From 6 to 8, we interview interesting and fun people from anywhere from celebrities to comic book creators, indie comic creators to major creators. We've had some big names on the show, too. And then Fridays, no longer the build, but we will be doing fun stuff on Fridays. So, whether that be games and doing game shows or we are doing movie streams and movie watch-along parties and stuff like that. Fridays, come and hang out with us, guys. We're going to be having a bunch of fun.
[02:06:58] So, that is it for our schedule. We should call that the Friday Hang or something like that. It's something. I forgot. We had a name for it, and I already forgot. I got to remake the schedule. It's the Hang. The Hang. It's the Hang. We've got the download, the build, and the Hang. And the Hang. Yes. That's it. The Hang. Let's go The Hang out. The Hang doesn't sound right. Okay. No, it's called The Hang. You're not in charge. Jen named it. You should have named it before, but you didn't. So, Jen had to name it.
[02:07:28] To make me feel better about myself. James is going full dictator right now. Yeah. He's going full something. Well, she's the one naming it. You named it The Hang. It's called The Hang now. What a name. I said, what a good name that is. Such a good name. Best name that's ever been made. Nobody's ever made a better name than the Hang. I said to myself, I want to hang. Why don't I hang? Okay. Bruce, you need to go to sleep, sweetie. Not yet.
