The Hurricane Knows Kung-Fu | Chapter 297

Keanu Reeves, Maelstrom, Marvel rumors, and DC movie talk collide in Distance NERDing Chapter 297, "The Hurricane Knows Kung-Fu." A survival-thriller discussion becomes John Wick versus a hurricane, because apparently the weather needed a fight choreographer.

Yung Phil, Jahmez 5000, and SHDU unpack chatter about Charlie Cox's Daredevil future, possible Defenders reunions, and Zodiac's rumored Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. connections. Then it's X-Men casting speculation, Kitty Pryde, and Phil's very reasonable demand: give us Lockheed, you cowards.

On the DC side, the crew weighs Clayface's box-office discussion and horror expectations before tackling Keanu's reported Maelstrom role and the storm-powered Matrix riff behind this chapter's title. We also dig into the Elden Ring movie's fantasy-and-horror balancing act, debate Ridley Scott's Alien direction, and ask whether The Rocketeer deserves another shot at takeoff.

Along the way, expect Dungeon Crawler Carl enthusiasm, reflections on beloved performers, gaming-industry frustration, and a debate about Legendary, Lionsgate, and Hollywood consolidation. Come for the pop culture news; stay for three nerds wondering whether the hurricane can actually throw hands.

[00:02:51] What do we got this week? Yes. This week on deck, Charlie Cox isn't going anywhere. Clayface breaks the bank. John Wick is replacing Reacher. Hollywood loses some of its best. And so much more. Yeah. It's going to be a sad day today, guys. Kind of a somber episode. Exactly. So, before we get into all of that, as always, let's talk about our sponsor this week. Ladies and gentlemen, this show is brought to you by Colossus Girl Entertainment.

[00:03:21] Fan-focused Comic-Cons across the West Coast. Comics, cosplay vendors, artists, celebrity guests, and more. Visit ColossusGirlEntertainment.com. That is ColossusGirlEntertainment.com. And plan your next Comic-Con accordingly, guys. So, we're going to jump into all the fun this week, guys. At least we're going to start with all the fun, because we are going to get to some depressing stuff. Yeah. But guys, let's start off here. It's time for the Marvel News. We're going to talk all things Marvel.

[00:03:51] It's time for Straight from J. Joe. So, there it is. Intro. I love it. You're doing a great job. Yeah. All right. The Abs will return. During a recent Discord Q&A, Discord's still a thing? Hosted by the Cosmic Circus insider Alex Perez was asked whether Daredevil could make the jump to the big screen once Born Again finishes its run on Disney+.

[00:04:16] Plus, Perez gave fans something to look forward to saying, the show may be ending, but Charlie Cox is far from done being Daredevil. Do you guys want more Daredevil? I absolutely want more Daredevil, man. But here's the thing. I've been saying for a while since all this started that just because Born Again is finishing up doesn't mean we're not getting another show.

[00:04:44] It doesn't mean that we're not getting some other property with Daredevil. Disney has shown that what they tend to do is rather than doing part one, part two, or things like that, they go with the comic book thing and just give it another title. So, I think we're just going to be getting, again, Daredevil, the Bane of Hell's Kitchen or something. Right. The Bane of Hell's Kitchen. And I think it's a way for them to break away from bridging storylines.

[00:05:14] Yeah. From Born Again to something else. They can just, let's start something fresh, new, a little bit different so we don't have to find that connective tissue or we can just start pseudo fresh. But Daredevil wasn't the only character discussed during Perez's Q&A. Another fan asked about the future of the Defenders and the Daughters of the Dragon. Specifically, whether Marvel might revisit those characters in a new Defenders movie or series or finally give fans a Heroes for Hire show.

[00:05:43] And I think that goes back to what you're saying. Right. Like, you might get Heroes for Hire or Defenders coming. Right. And I've been saying this for a while that I want to see Heroes for Hire. I want to see Daughters of the Dragon. They never finished the storyline for Daughters of the Dragon. So, I want to see them do more. Yeah, exactly. So, Perez kind of agreed. There is some stuff in the works for them once Born Again ends. So, I think this is kind of like what we're dealing with with Endgame in Secret Wars.

[00:06:11] It's kind of going to wrap things up. But then, instead of it ending, there's a new beginning coming for a lot of these Marvel storylines. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. So, he didn't offer any other details about which the characters might return. What form these projects could take. Marvel also hasn't officially announced anything. But the possibility of bringing more of its street-level heroes back into action is exciting.

[00:06:37] Daredevil Born Again Season 3 is scheduled to premiere on Disney Plus in March of 2027 and will officially conclude the series. All right. Yeah, we saw that. Right. Plus, here's, you know, we've been wondering, like, what's going to happen after Secret Wars. We're kind of getting a taste of it because this next article. Yeah. Is this a good sign for Zodiac?

[00:07:03] Some new details have surfaced about what fans can expect from the upcoming MCU series Zodiac. According to a new rumor, the show will have ties to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which is good to hear, explore different periods of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and mix grounded action with a little comic book weirdness. I think, kind of like what you're, Chidi, you were just saying, like, a little bit more grounded, a little bit more back-to-the-street-level type thing. Yeah. I think Zodiac's going to piggyback on that exact statement.

[00:07:33] So, the latest information comes from insider Alex Perez, again, who recently did the Q&A. When asked how closely Zodiac would connect to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Perez suggested that the upcoming series would be partially connected to the Marvel show that debuted in 2013. Are you looking forward to Zodiac, you guys? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right. I think it's certainly going to be going to be interesting.

[00:08:00] I'm curious to see what they do with it, how close it is to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., if it does connect at all. Yeah. Right. I'm Barry Goes. Again, they're talking a lot about what connections it could have, whether it is connected to the Zodiac team in the comic books, whether it's not if it's just a full connection to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., I would love to see them bring back elements of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or even just make it fully canon again,

[00:08:28] because it does kind of coincide with events that happen within the MCU. And then, you know, after everything that happened, the fallouts that happened with everything, they kind of just said, okay, well, it's not really canon anymore. I'd rather them kind of go back to making it canon all over again. And again, at this point, you know, because a friend of the show, Jamie Jirak, has been really keeping it alive, I think she should get a cameo. That would be awesome.

[00:08:57] How cool would that be? Yeah. But actually, that would be kind of cool. Because she's had a lot of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. cast and crew on the show, directors and stuff. Right. That'd be nice. She's having fucking Diego Luna at LA Comic Con. And she's going to have him on the Lido podcast. Yeah. So it's going to be so awesome. Yeah. Yeah. So Alex Perez also addressed when Zodiac will take place in the MCU timeline.

[00:09:27] Rather than sticking entirely to the present day, he claimed the series will explore both earlier and more recent periods of the MCU when asked when Zodiac would embrace the more expansive cosmic elements of the comics or take a grounded approach. Perez indicated that it would lean toward the latter, although fans should expect a little bit of camp. One of the things I also would like is a little bit more of a serious tone.

[00:09:54] Because keep in mind, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. came in the era of ABC when there was no Disney+. Right. So Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is pretty much kind of an older type of show. 22 plus episodes, a season, that sort of thing. Whereas now that it's on Disney+, they can do something different. They can do something with a darker tone, a more serious tone,

[00:10:18] and still bridge it into Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. without it being, I guess, overly campy. Shut up and take my money. I know. Give me more. Give me more. And I think that's what Marvel's missing. The Nick Furies, the groundedness, the S.H.I.E.L.D. type stuff. So yeah. Espionage. Marvel announced Zodiac during the New York Comic Con 2026 with a series currently scheduled to premiere. In 2028. Yeah. All right. Yeah. Again, I'm excited for it.

[00:10:46] I'm hoping that it ends up being something that kind of bridges the gap. It's something that we kind of find something that we need, you know, is that bridge from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to the current iteration of what's going on. Even if they do something that ties into Secret Wars and is like, oh, yeah, here is, you know, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is part of the multiverse, but we're going to bring in some of those characters and now we have Earthquake, right? Like, you know, I feel like some of those characters need a little bit of due justice. Yeah. Exactly.

[00:11:16] You mean Earthquake from the 80s WWF? Like the natural disaster, I think? Yeah, that's exactly who I'm talking about. Yeah. And we're going to put her up against Bam Bam Bigelow. There we go. And Tugboat. And Tugboat. There we go. Okay. All right. Sorry. Okay. Let's switch over to some X-Men news. Is she a match for Moira? Marvel Studios is rebooting X-Men and the cast is shaping up nicely.

[00:11:41] One new actress is among the variables of those who may join the cast as she's been meeting with Marvel to see if she's a match. There's been a lot of Marvel casting rumors lately. So according to a new report from Scooper Caleb Williams of Night Edge Media Academy Award nominee. How do you pronounce the name? Renata Reinsve Renate Resvi? Rainsvi? Rainsvi? Yes.

[00:12:09] From Sentimental Value Backrooms in Fjord. Oh, she's from Backrooms. There you go. Met with Marvel for the role of Moira McTaggart. Do you want to see Renate Resvi play Moira? Either way. I just want Moira. So it's funny how... I'm going to look this up. Let me just look up how to pronounce her name. It's funny how I was talking about this recently about like, oh, you know, certain actors would

[00:12:37] be good for Moira McTaggart. So it's funny how, you know, the rumors start coming out and now we know that they're casting for Moira McTaggart. Moira McTaggart. I mean, she's a major character as far as kind of like the background, right? Like, you know, she helps Xavier a lot, but then she's also like a rival for Xavier. Moira McTaggart is a very good kind of just background character that adds more to the universe.

[00:13:07] So I'd love to see Moira McTaggart casted and getting some of her in there. And this actress seems like she kind of fits the role for it. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. I would like to say for the record, it is Renata Reinsve. I think that's what we said. Renata Reinsve. Yeah, that sounds right. That's what I said. Renata Reinsve.

[00:13:58] All right. I mean, if we we don't burn shame. Whatever floats your boat. She founded the Muir Island Mutant Research Center and raised and mentored characters like Rain Sinclair, Wolfsbane and her own troubled reality warping mutant son, Kevin McTaggart. Proteus. Yes. Marvel's Untitled X-Men is set to hit theaters on May 5th, 2028. It's also going to be interesting to see where down the line.

[00:14:28] Yeah. Yeah. You know, and if he's doing younger with like the cast of the main kind of first class. Yeah. But yeah, we'll see. And depending on what they do, because spoiler alert, Jonathan Hickman is advising and he's reading the scripts that like the Russos are putting in Marvel's getting ready to put out. So he's kind of involved. Yeah. Hickman does some crazy stuff. Yeah. With Moriara's character storyline.

[00:14:58] It's going to be interesting to see, especially if Jonathan Hickman is involved in all this, like how deep the involved he is. It's going to be interesting to see kind of where they go. Are they going to go more comic route? Are they going to go again? I'm happy believing that this entire universe is a, is just another offshoot of the comics. You know what I mean? Because this stuff already feels like it could be its own comic. Yeah. Oh, I get what you're saying. Yeah.

[00:15:28] Yeah. But yeah, I was just reading today that Hickman has been advising and consulting with the Russos over the scripts and their future scripts that are coming to the MCU. So, because part of it is they're taking inspiration from his stories, like for Secret Wars and stuff, and they're bringing it to the movies. So it'll be interesting. I wonder if they start consulting with Claremont for, uh, for the, maybe, well, I mean, I mean,

[00:15:58] Chris Claremont had the definitive end run between him and Jim Lee, you know? So I mean, like, yeah, those, those are like, you know, the, the, the, what we think of the X-Men now, a lot of that was so. And, but now Hickman is kind of reshaping that. So we shall see. Yeah. All right. I got another X-Men story. Is Marvel in a phase? Get it? Phase? No, you don't get it. Because I have several puns here. If no one's noticed. Yeah.

[00:16:27] It looks like Kaylee Spaney could be joining Marvel Studios X-Men reboot after all, just not as the mutants fans originally expected. The alien Romulus star was previously rumored to be playing Rogue, but a new report claims she could actually be playing Kitty Pryde, which would be awesome. I like that. The latest casting rumor comes from industry insider MyTimeToShineHello, who initially claimed

[00:16:53] in a since-deleted X post that Spaney had landed the role. However, the scooper quickly corrected the report, explaining, wait, sorry, I misunderstood the source. She's in talks for Kitty Pryde. Not a done deal. Do you think Kaylee would make a good Kitty Pryde? Should do. Number one, I was going to say, number one, yes. I think she definitely is the right actress for it.

[00:17:20] She's a little bit older than where we would want Kitty Pryde, but at the same time, she's a good enough actress where it's fine. All I care about is that we get fucking Lockheed. That's all I care. We didn't get Lockheed in the last iteration with Kitty Pryde. I want Lockheed in this. If they're going full fucking comic book, I want Lockheed. I want that little fucking annoying ass dragon. So what, Graveyard's character and our D&D thing?

[00:17:52] Graveyard's character is his big cut. Right. So for now, Spaney's potential casting as Kitty Pryde remains a rumor, and Marvel hasn't confirmed her involvement still. Still, she's proven she can handle intense characters, driven roles, and bring that energy to the MCU's mutant team could be a great fit. Marvel's, again, untitled X-Men is scheduled to phase into theaters May 5th, 2028.

[00:18:21] All right. Either of you guys have any other thoughts on... I said phase. That's my only thought. I said phase in the theaters. Okay. Because she can phase. That's her mutant power. She can phase through things. You're not wrong. That is her mutant power. That's why the movie would phase into theaters. Okay. Just start calling her Shadowcat. It's fine. No. Yeah. No. Yeah. All right. All right.

[00:18:50] Well, that is it for our Marvel news, ladies and gentlemen. Let's go ahead and move on to the next subject here. It's time for watching the Watchtower. We're going to get into this brief DC news. Where we have a grand turtle of one story. One story. One story. But you know what? Thanks for watching. Don't forget to like and subscribe. We're not claying around. We're not claying around.

[00:19:17] DC Studios Clayface is off to a promising start at the box office, proving that there's room for smaller, more experimental comic book movies alongside the studio's big budget superhero adventures. Despite receiving mixed to positive reviews, director James Watkins R-rated body horror film pulled on an estimated 24 million domestically during its opening weekend, bringing its worldwide debut to 43 million. That's an encouraging result for a movie reportedly produced for somewhere between 35 and 44 million, depending on the source.

[00:19:46] So a question for everyone in the audience. Have you seen Clayface? I have not yet. So I wanted to go watch it. I did not have time over the course of the weekend, so I did not get to go see it. I do want to see this movie, though. It is not even like a back burner thing. Now, the thing is, is I have heard a lot. I've heard a lot more bad than good, but it's one of those things that I want to go see it to judge it myself.

[00:20:15] You know what I mean? Like the bad that I hear is it's not that much horror. It's more comedy than it is anything. Yeah. And I mean, I can see that. But, you know, again, I want to go see it and make my own judge. You know, the Internet is terrible on their track record. They sat there and said that the Internet was saying that Resident Evil was bad. It was amazing. So I'm definitely. Yeah.

[00:20:45] No, that's. Yeah. And I have not seen it yet either. I do want to. But yeah. Yeah. I got to get through. I got to get through Halloween first with the kiddos. And then maybe I'll try to go see it on Sunday when everybody's like zonked out coming down from a candy high. I was about to say in a sugar high. Yeah, I got that. Yeah. Because this year, Halloween fell on a weekend. Me and ghetto boys, I took a treat. And what you know about that? I'm moving on.

[00:21:11] While these numbers don't mean Clayface is already trying to profit as theaters take a percentage of ticket sales and marketing costs are not included in the production budget, it's a solid start that puts the movie in a decent position heading into its second weekend. Clayface could potentially become one of DC's more profitable theatrical release of the decade if it maintains this momentum. Clayface is playing in theaters right now. Yeah. Again, let's just hope. Let's just hope that that it continues on with that momentum. Again, you know, the internet is the internet.

[00:21:41] People are complaining about it. But I've heard mixed things because there are people who say I like it. It's very much a Matt Hagen story. It's good in that aspect. But then I've also heard people talk about just it not being the horror movie that they expect to be. I feel like a dark comedy almost works better for Clayface as a character. But, you know, whatever. Again, it depends on what version of Clayface you're doing. Matt Hagen tends to be more attractive. Yeah.

[00:22:10] And good on DC for taking a risk. Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I appreciate that. Especially this early on. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Right. So that is it for our DC news. Let's get into our next sponsor of the night. James, you want to cover this one? Sure. Sounds good. Good. Dissonance Dirting is part of the Geek Freaks Network. Discover your latest binge.

[00:22:37] Debating casting choices or still not over that plot twist. The Geek Freaks Network has got you covered. Your fandom, your community, your people geek out your way. Check out Geek Freaks Network at gfpods.com. Representative of the goat Frank. I love you, Carl. I love you, Carl. Fucking Pony is so... I'm sorry.

[00:23:07] We're getting into Dungeon Crawler Carl. And I mean, again, we're talking Frank right here who's another crawler along with me and James. So fucking shout outs to fucking Pony being the nutty... Apparently, we need to just do like a segment or like an episode or something. It's just you guys talking about Dungeon Crawler Carl. That's every episode, man. That's just... Well, yeah, but no. No, not a segment. We're going to turn the entire show into me and James talking. Yeah. Full hour of you guys.

[00:23:35] No, we're going to turn it into you listening to book one. And then we go over it with you like chapter by chapter. So you can be part of our cult. That's the point. You need to join. Speaking of the cult, I'm going to have to show you guys at the end. I got the last piece of the battle rattle. I got the... The daughter's patch. Oh, wow. Nice. Yeah. We have to move on.

[00:24:05] I know. Okay. The Skolopendra one. Yeah. It's the daughter of the scavenger. I got the scavenger's daughter patch. That's my back patch. Actually, after this, I've got to go take it over to Jeff's. So, because he's got to finish my battle rattle. Anyways, let's continue on, guys. It is time to jump into the stories. Ladies and gentlemen, we are going to jump into the headlines. Sorry. For more news, trailers, reactions, check out the Distance Nerding Post. Let us know what you're nerding out on.

[00:24:34] And, you know, we post things regularly in there. Check that out. It gives you all the news and everything that we've got going on. John Wick is replacing Reacher? Keanu Reeves, the John Wick star, is set to headline Netflix's Maelstrom, taking over the lead role from Alan Richson, who recently exited the project for undisclosed reasons. Mostly because he's probably in D.C. now.

[00:25:00] The film has all of the ingredients for a cool action-packed survival thriller with a deadly hurricane, an isolated safe house, and a group of armed killers determined to get inside. So, guys, what do you think? Is this a good movie for Keanu Reeves to jump into Netflix? I don't know anything about Maelstrom, but I guess they need a middle-aged badass. And I think this works for Keanu or Alan Richson.

[00:25:29] Yeah, and apparently you guys weren't available. So, you know. Yeah. I'm always available. They just don't want to cast me. Netflix, you can cast me. I'll play a middle-aged badass. Yeah. So it's a nature thriller with a deadly hurricane, huh? Yeah. All right. I guess that's how it works. John Wick fights a hurricane. Even hurricanes don't want to fucking mess with John Wick. He knows kung fu.

[00:25:57] Hurricane, you can call me slurricane. What if we nuked the hurricane? What if we nuked the hurricane? John Wick. Oh, we're going to get to that later. We'll send John Wick to nuke the hurricane. That actually sounds like a plan he would come up with. All right. Anyways, Maelstrom has been floating around Hollywood for more than three decades. The project was originally developed as a spec script at Warner Brothers way back in 1993.

[00:26:26] Oh, that's before Matrix. That is way before the Matrix. Holy cow. That's before I was born. Yeah, I know, right? It's way before you. It's like 10 years before you were born, dude. Yeah. There's no release date announced for Maelstrom yet or if it will know kung fu. Hurricane knows kung fu. The hurricane knows kung fu. That's the name of the episode. The hurricane knows kung fu. And then Alan Richen does a cameo in there and he goes, show me. Yeah.

[00:26:57] All right. Well, let's continue on here to the next story, guys. Arise Tarnished. A24 is spending some serious money to bring Elden Ring to the big screen. And it sounds like the studio is going all in on Alex Garland's upcoming fantasy epic.

[00:27:15] According to the report from the Wall Street Journal, the Elden Ring movie budget is approaching a whopping $200 million, making it the most expensive film A24 has ever backed. Are you guys confident that A24's Elden Ring adaptation is going to be good? Are you an Elden Ring fan, right? Should you? No, I haven't played it. I want to, but I've never played it.

[00:27:45] I mean, there's a massive epicness to Elden Ring, man. So, I mean, like, yeah, I know I'd enjoy it. I'd get really frustrated at it, but I know I'd enjoy it. But yeah, I mean, you know, I'm I'm always good for, you know, I think fantasy stuff is always good. But I don't know. We'll see. I'm I'm I'm. Yeah, I'm curious with, you know, yeah. And you're right.

[00:28:14] So not only that, though, like this movie needs to kind of like straddle between fantasy epic and horror, because there are a lot of kind of just, you know, messed up things that happen within this world. And just, you know, a lot of the monsters and a lot of the the bosses that you deal with. And of course, there has to be like a level of fan service. But at the same time, like it needs to look good, too. So, I mean, there's a lot going into this.

[00:28:41] I can understand why a 24 is putting so much money into it, because it needs it needs to be a very large scale movie in order for us. Right. Right. I think they're looking for their franchise. A24 has been great in putting together some amazing movies and projects and bringing a lot of pseudo indie projects to the forefront. And they've developed that.

[00:29:08] That being said, they don't have any big franchises under their belt. So and especially something like this, having Elden rings and knowing who was it? Isn't like George R.R. Martin? Didn't he write? Yeah, he's involved. It's got a ridiculous amount of lore, too. So I'm sure they could pull from from a lot of places. This is A24 doubling down on like, OK, we're going to make a franchise. This is going to not be one movie, probably a trilogy.

[00:29:38] That's a good point. That's a really that's a good point. Yeah. Yeah, I can see them doing that. So for comparison, A24's previous biggest production was Marty Supreme starring Timothee Chalamet, which cost around 70 million and earned 191 million worldwide. The studio is now preparing to spend nearly three times that amount to bring from software's fantasy world. Yeah, there you go. Interesting. Yeah.

[00:30:03] I mean, they're they've already their budget is already more than that. Yeah. Yeah. And that movie got a bunch of fucking awards to a whole whole bunch of Oscars. The live action Elden Ring movie is scheduled to release on March 3rd. All right. All right. Well, let's continue on to the next story here. It can be some fun stuff. I'm sure Graveyard in Salem are going to be excited about this.

[00:30:32] Ridley Scott is bursting back into the alien universe. First, according to the Hollywood Reporter, a new alien movie is officially in development with Scott producing the end. Aaron Guzikowski writing the screenplay. I think that's it. I don't know. Guzikowski previously worked with Scott on HBO Max's sci-fi series Raised by Wolves. Oh, good series. If you have not checked out Raised by Wolves, it was really good, really good sci-fi.

[00:31:00] So the question I have for the chat question I have for all you guys here. Will Ridley Scott is Ridley Scott coming back to alien. Is that going to be a good thing for the direction of the franchise or should they stick with what they wing? You know, I the first when I first heard this and like, oh, my gosh, they're getting Ridley Scott back. That's awesome. You know, Aces, it's going to be awesome.

[00:31:22] That being said, like the way they handle alien nowadays, like alien earth from like Noah Wiley, is it? And like the way they handle Predator with Dan Trachtenberg and taking franchises we know and making them fresh again and bringing them in new directions. I don't know if bringing back Ridley Scott would be a good thing. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:31:48] It's it's kind of like what what new thing is Ridley Scott going to bring to the franchise itself, especially considering that like alien Romulus and like you mentioned Earth, just the amount of horror. But then also the way that they've kind of brought back so much lore. You know what I mean? Like, is Ridley Scott really going to add more to this universe or is he going to hinder it in any way? I hate to say Ridley Scott would hinder anything because he's amazing. He's such a good writer and a really good director.

[00:32:18] But it's kind of like, are you bringing something new to this franchise, even though I know you're the one that kind of, you know, brought it to this to this world? You created this universe that but I mean, it's kind of like run wild and become its own thing. Yeah. Yeah. I, I'm kind of in the same boat, like even easy money. I love you, Ridley Scott, but no, like Gladiator feels like such a perfect movie. Yeah. Did it need a sequel?

[00:32:48] No. Which I still haven't seen, actually. I still haven't seen this. What does that say? Yeah. I heard good things about it. It just, I never, I kind of fell behind on watching. Anyways, with all that being said and everything we got on there. So this new film isn't the sequel to Alien Romulus. Instead, it's Kometheus and Alien Covenant, which means Scott will revisit some of the unfinished business involving the android David. I think it needs some help. Scott continued. So I've gone back in.

[00:33:18] I've already got a footprint for the next Alien. We did Prometheus and then Alien Covenant. So I'm picking up where we left off in Covenant and with Michael Fassbender, who now thinks he's Ozymandias. Okay. All right. Yeah, I know. Right. Which, again, Prometheus, I didn't hate that movie, but it wasn't something that, you know, was groundbreaking and amazing. Covenant wasn't, you know. Hot take. It's a take that a lot of people in the world go.

[00:33:48] Covenant wasn't that great. Romulus was, you know, kind of going back to form, but it wasn't Ridley Scott, you know. So there's no date when Ridley Scott and Alien will return to theaters, but we'll be keeping a close eye on everything and let you guys know as we know. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Also, you know, let us know in the comments, guys, whatever, how do you feel about Ridley Scott coming back? It's definitely something we want to hear from all of you guys.

[00:34:15] And hopefully it won't be game over, man. Game over. Wait, the closest I have is. They mostly go at night. Mostly. Also from Aliens. So with that being said, let's jump into our next story. Is the Rocketeer finally flying away from Disney? Hmm? Sad, sad day.

[00:34:39] After years of failed sequel attempts and abandoned reboots, the rights of the beloved comic book character would soon return to the family of his creator. According to Boardwalk Times, the Rocketeer Trust has filed a notice to reclaim the rights to the Rocketeer from Disney. The trust is represented by Jennifer Bauckham, sister of late Dave Stevens, who created the character. So what do you guys think? Should Disney release the rights to let another studio do the sequel? Should do. Go.

[00:35:10] Should do. Have you seen the Rocketeer? No. Should do. God damn it, should do. Well, I think it's more than just have you seen the Rocketeer or not. It's Disney holding on to IP. Maybe. And maybe they don't know what to do with it, you know? Whereas like somebody else, another filmmaker may want to do something with it. But I think they've had a couple like potential reboots. They just never happened. It's never found out.

[00:35:40] Yeah, it's never found out. Exactly. Easy money saying, let Sony have it. I don't know. Sony. Sony's hit or miss. Sony's hit or miss. Sometimes they'll take properties like that and just amazingly go through the roof and make something amazing. Yeah. Then sometimes we get mad at web. Oh, exactly. That's exactly what I was going to say. Just going to say. Sometimes we just get mad at web and they just never touch a comical property ever again. Or sometimes you get into the Spider-Verse.

[00:36:10] That was the best move of the year. But that's what I'm saying. Sometimes they knock it out of the park and you get things like into the Spider-Verse. So. Yeah. Yeah. Kind of hard to call. See, did I put that in? I did. Okay. Just making sure I put it on YouTube so that everybody can vote on that. So yeah, guys, make sure you vote in the chat on whether you think Disney should release those rights. The move invokes a provision of federal copyright law that allows creators and their heirs to reclaim rights granted under agreements made 35 years earlier.

[00:36:40] The notice was reportedly served on June 11th, 2026 with the termination scheduled to take effect on June 12th of 2028. The filing identifies several deep city areas and six original Rocketeer copyright registrations. This doesn't mean Disney will lose the ability to distribute its existing Rocketeer productions. Meanwhile, the Rocketeer has continued having adventures in comic books published by IDW Publishing.

[00:37:07] You can revisit the Rocketeer now on Disney Plus. She do. You can watch the Rocketeer on Disney Plus. Okay. I'll go watch it. The good and the bad about this is like there you can go watch this right now, but if Disney goes fine, somebody else take it over. They pretty much have to reboot it. They because they can't piggyback on what Disney's IP Disney's movie has done. So they have to do their own version of it.

[00:37:36] And Disney may go like, no, I don't I don't want you to do that. Which that movie was really fun, man. Like the Rocketeer, the original Rocketeer movie was really fun. I remember going back. That was one of those movies I watched. You saved my watch list. There you go. It's one of those movies I watched as a kid and I absolutely loved it. I always think of the scene where he were like the Nazis are shooting at him and they shoot through his tank. And in order to fix it, he takes out his gum and he plugs the hole with his gum. Yeah, that works out.

[00:38:05] I mean, that was that was like quintessential, like 80s, 90s, like fun movies, fun movie time. You know, I just miss that. It's basically about a guy who for you should do. It's basically about a guy who gets like a like a rocket pack, like a jet pack, experimental jet pack and he becomes a superhero and fights Nazis. That's awesome. You know, like there's a final scene where he's literally fighting somebody. Hell yeah.

[00:38:35] OK, I'm in. It's I'm in. It's good. I want that. I'm in again. It's like early 90s. It's like 91. I think this movie came out. 91. Yeah. That's what it said on the thing. Yeah. Yeah. So it's like, yeah, no, this movie was it was so much fun, man. So, yes, that is it for our quick bites. So we're going to jump into the next segment here. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for the headlines. Should do take it over, sir.

[00:39:00] OK, well, I don't know why I gave myself all the sad ones, but OK, if you want to ping pong, we can because I know. No, no, no, no, no, no. It's fine. I'll just I'll just be sobbing over here. OK. All right. Well, that is Chekhov's last voyage. Another beloved member of the original Star Trek crew has left us. Walter Koenig, the actor who brought Ensign Pavel Chekhov's life aboard the USS Enterprise

[00:39:25] and became a cherished part of science fiction history, has passed away at the age of 90. Koenig died Sunday, October 25th at his home in North Hollywood, surrounded by his daughter and niece. His representatives confirmed that he died of natural causes. So question to everyone. Do you like Chekhov? What do you think of the character? Of course, I love Chekhov. Are you kidding me? Yeah. He's so, so good.

[00:39:52] I he was one of those characters that you didn't like. It was all about Captain Kirk. I get it. But Chekhov is one of those like great supporting characters. And I always get reminded of like Star Trek. Is that for the voyage home where he's like, yeah, the where are your nuclear vessels? Nuclear vessels. Yeah. Botany Bay? Botany Bay? That's so good. Yeah. I'm, I'm, yeah.

[00:40:21] He's, he's just, he's iconic without even. Yeah. Yeah. I'm, I'm a big, you know, a big Trekkie, obviously. So yeah, I'm, this hit me hard. So yeah. Phil, did you have anything? I mean, Chekhov, Chekhov was one of those characters where you, you got comedy relief out of, you know, his, his accent. He was more Ukrainian, like his, his accent.

[00:40:49] But I mean, like still like he, he had this Eastern European and, you know, the, the comedy behind it was him not things and people not understanding it. But I mean, he becomes such a major character down the line. You know, given that he starts as an ensign, I think what he ended as a captain, I think. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe an admiral for, yeah. An admiral. Did he go through the admiralty? So yeah. So I mean like he, he ends up becoming an admiral. Yeah. Yeah. I'm seeing this down here. Yeah. Yeah. So I mean like, you know, I was not very familiar with Checkouts history. I'm sorry. I'm sorry to all my other Trekkies here.

[00:41:20] But I mean, you know, Walter Koenig was, was one of those guys where you would see him at con would, you know, gladly have conversations with people. You know, he, he seen from what I hear, he was, he was very gracious to, to, to the fans and things like that. It's, it's sad, but I mean, at the same time he is getting up there. It's, it's actually surprising that, that Kirk is still around. That guy's what, 98 now? Yeah. Shatner is, I don't know what's going on. Yeah.

[00:41:48] And the crazy thing about Shatner is he's like 98 and he still looks like he's in his. Yeah. That guy, that guy. There may have been some, some surgery involved there. You know, that guy is consuming adrenochrome, man, for sure. Yeah. There's anyone. Anyway. So for generations of fans, Koenig was the young, enthusiastic Russian navigator, brought humor, personality, and plenty of charm to the original series.

[00:42:15] And he joined the show during its second season, 1967, sporting a hairstyle inspired by the monkeys, Davy Jones, which is part of an effort to attract younger viewers. He quickly became an important member of the Enterprise crew. His exaggerated Russian pride, amusing claims to practically everything was invented in Russia, and memorable interactions with his fellow officers made him a fan favorite.

[00:42:37] But of course, he went on to reprise the role in seven Star Trek feature films, including Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan, where he played a major part in one of the franchise's most celebrated adventures. He continued returning to the character over the decades, including an appearance as Admiral Chekhov in Star Trek Renegades. I don't, I'm not that familiar with that, but okay, cool. His representatives shared the following heartfelt statement.

[00:43:00] Today, we mourn the passing of Walter Koenig, whose talent, warmth, and unforgettable performances left a lasting mark on generations of fans around the world. He passed of old age at his home in North Hollywood last night, surrounded by his daughter and niece. So rest in peace, Walter Koenig. Thank you for being a part of the adventure. You'll always have a place aboard the... There you go. Renegades was a fan film, by the way. Oh, gotcha. That would be why I don't know about it.

[00:43:29] There were a lot of really good fan films. Yes, he was also on Babylon 5. Yeah. Yeah. It's funny. A lot of the people that we've met across that have been involved with Trek have all done like fan films. And it's kind of crazy to see how all main cast members of Star Trek end up in fan films. And they're just like, yeah, no, it's canon. Yeah. Might as well be. Okay.

[00:43:57] Well, we're going to continue with the sad news. Tom Skerritt, the beloved character actor known for his role as an alien, Top Gun, MASH, and Picket Fences, passed away Wednesday, October 21st of Natural Causes. He was 93 years old. Whether he was commanding a spaceship, training hotshot fighter pilots, or playing a small town sheriff, he always brought something special to the screen. So, question for the audience. And you, of course, will you miss Tom Skerritt? I didn't realize he was that.

[00:44:27] Yeah. He's one of those character actors that he always looks a little old. Even though. Right. He's always looked like the same age since the 80s. Like he looked old in Top Gun, like a handsome old in Top Gun. Right. That was like 40 years ago. Yeah. Yeah. He's great though. He was a great character actor. Yeah. Yeah. And he was Grinalians too. I mean, like I said, I did not realize that he was that old. He's 93.

[00:44:57] Technically, he was older than Walter Koenig and Walter Koenig was, you know, big in the 60s. So. Yeah. Yeah. Don't know much else here, but our hearts and thoughts go out to his family, friends, and everyone who had the pleasure of working with him. Rest in peace, Tom Skerritt. But thanks for all the great movies and memories. You will be. Oh, man. This I'm sad about the first two, but this one really hits home. I it. The next thing you're going to go over right now. I text James and he was like, dude, where have you been?

[00:45:26] I'm obviously not around enough to know that this happened because it really bothers me. Yeah. Okay. Well, we'll do the last one here. Yet more sad news. Eric Bauza. Bauza, am I correct? Yeah, you're saying it. Great. Eric Bauza, the Emmy award winning voice actor behind Looney Tunes characters like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, died Sunday at his home as a result of hypertensive cardiovascular disease. According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, he was 46.

[00:45:56] Bauza's death was announced by his family, who shared a statement to the actor's Instagram account on Sunday. Quote, Eric Bauza, Emmy award winning voice actor and the modern voice of the iconic Looney Tunes characters Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, along with dozens of other beloved cartoon characters, has passed away suddenly. They wrote, more details to come. So, are you sad about this news? I can tell that obviously you are. Absolutely, dude. Eric Bauza. Eric Bauza was the new Mel Blanc, man. Like, it just. Yes.

[00:46:25] He did so many characters. He did so many voices. You know, he could do, even though he wasn't playing every character on Looney Tunes, he could do every character's voice. He was. He's the face of Looney Tunes. He really was. He's the reason that Coyote vs. Acme even got any enough traction for Ketchup to buy it and put it in theaters. Like, it's, it's, the dude was a mad, he was a big deal.

[00:46:55] And on top of that, you know, both James and I will appreciate this. He was Pinoy, man. So, I mean, like, you know, it's, it's, you don't tend to hear a lot about, aside from Dante Bosco, you don't hear a lot about, like, really famous Filipino voice actors. And, you know, you, not only, like, it wasn't just, Eric Bauza wasn't just somebody who did, like, one voice here and there. He did so many different voices. So many different characters.

[00:47:23] Eric Bauza was so fucking talented, man. And it's sad to hear that he passes away at 46. Like, again, no disrespect in any way to Tom Skerritt and Walter Koenig, but they were older. You know, they were, they were kind of reaching that point in life. Yeah. Yeah, super sad. He's, he's Canadian-born but came to America. So he's, you know, Filipino, Canadian, American. It is Filipino-American History Month as well.

[00:47:51] So, and he's a big staple in the Filipino Hollywood community. So it's a tragic loss for us in the community. So super sad. Quick thing here. So over the course of his career, Bauza was one of the industry's most in-demand voiceover actors. Lending his voice to characters like the aforementioned Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. But also Tweety, Elmer Fudd, Foghorn Leghorn, Porky Pig, Porky Pig, Porky Pig, Roadrunner, Charlie the Dog, and others.

[00:48:21] And this year's Looney Tunes film, Cary vs. Acting, as you mentioned. He also voiced characters in Space Jam A New Legacy, Looney Tunes Cartoons, and much, much more. Bauza leaves a legacy of more than 400 acting credits to his name. And Eric, you will be nice. It's absolutely sad. And it really makes me think, like, who's done more voices?

[00:48:49] Is it Eric Bauza or is it Frank Welker? Because Frank Welker's got, like, a big thing like that. I mean, like, it's nuts, man. I think Frank Welker has more credits to his name. But I think for Looney Tunes, I'll have to go back and take a look. But I think Eric did more than Mel did. Like, individual characters. Yeah. And on top of that, he did more. He also did films.

[00:49:18] He also did kind of different appearances and stuff like that. Where, like, you know, again, no disrespect to Mel Blanc. He was the man of a thousand voices. But, I mean, Eric was up there with him as far as those characters. Yep. Well, we're going to continue with the sad news. But maybe less sad because it's not a person dying. But still. Yeah. I'm angry about this. Oh, I'm also angry. And we're going to get a tiny bit political. So, I guess Shepard is staying dead.

[00:49:49] And Bloomberg reports that Electronic Arts will lay off roughly 400 employees and shut down its Bioware studio. In effect, canceling the next game in the Mass Effect series. Bioware confirmed in a post on social media that it would be shutting down the studio. The studio shared a statement on social media. The beginning of that is now, after more than three decades of shared adventures, Bioware is closing. And early development on the next Mass Effect project is ending. So, question to everyone.

[00:50:19] Are you also angry about this? Absolutely. I'm pretty upset about this news. Now, the other thing about this, though, is... So, I've got to go look here real quick. Just scan over a little bit. Okay. So, it doesn't have that on here.

[00:50:35] As of right now, I think there's 180,000 signatures for fans trying to get another studio to pick up a development on Mass Effect. And it's... I will take that petition. I will find that. They are... You know, it really sucks that Bioware had to close. I mean, there's so many games that they're, you know, famous for.

[00:51:05] There's a lot of games that they're really good with. But there is a lot of fan backlash on EA closing the studio down. Yeah. We're going to get into that in a sec here. Yeah. And, you know, there's a lot of movement online of people trying to find ways to either save it or to get another studio to pick up where they left. Yeah. This is just a fucked up situation. Just all around, pretty much.

[00:51:33] James, do you have anything before I continue here? Yeah, I was going to let you continue. But real quick, I just put it in our private chat. If somebody can throw it into our main video chat, change.org slash p slash save Mass Effect. If you want to sign that petition. Perfect. I will put that in the chat. In the chat. So, yeah. If anybody wants to sign that petition to save Mass Effect, that is currently in our chat right now.

[00:52:04] You can see that right there. Yep. There you go. Go ahead. Awesome. Yes. I just was signing that petition. The closure is the latest casualty of parent company Electronic Arts going private and a massive $55 billion buyout by the Saudi Arabian Private Investment Fund with help from Affinity Partners. Affinity Partners being a private equity fund owned by President Trump's son-in-law, Jared Cook. So if you're wondering who to blame.

[00:52:34] Yeah. So that's a fucked situation right there. He probably. He probably had them close and was like, oh, we're not going to do another Mass Effect. Yeah. No, there's there's. I hate that that's actually like a possibility. Yeah. That's. I just. So Bioware had repeatedly been locked by rocked by layoffs before both before and after the launch of Dragon Age Vale Guard, the last Dragon Age game.

[00:53:02] Sales of which EA said had failed to meet expectations, probably because the game wasn't that good. But so, of course, now the studio known for the first two Baldur's Gate games, the Mass Effect series, Dragon Age, Star Wars, Knights of the Old Republic and much, much more is gone. Wow. It kind of sucks because they were saying supposedly that there was rumors that that Bioware was working, finally working on KOTOR 3. Yeah.

[00:53:30] Like that we'll never know unless somebody unless somebody hacks into their into their server system and see what they were working. Yeah. Yeah. Like we will never know if they were working on KOTOR 3. Yeah. And all of this because of just bullshit. Just of, you know. Yeah. All these creative things being hurt by these massive corporations just throwing money around. And a little bit of salt in the wound here.

[00:54:00] EA plans to focus on its sports games and Apex Legends and Marvel and Star Wars projects. But, you know, still. Yeah. I mean, here's the thing with EA. Sports games are always going to be their bread and butter. That's where they make almost all of their money through Madden, NBA Live and all those games right there. Apex Legends, again, is another kind of up there game. They stopped production on all the other games within that universe.

[00:54:28] Because, what was Titanfall? They were working on Titanfall 3. And they canceled Titanfall 3 specifically because they were like, okay, well, we don't want to put all this money into production costs for Titanfall 3. We're going to take all of that money for production costs and just dump it into more Apex Legends. And it's kind of like Apex is not a bad game. But at the same time, I don't want more Apex Legends. And then Marvel and Star Wars projects.

[00:54:56] I mean, you know, they are putting a lot of money into the Star Wars projects. And admittedly, their Star Wars games are good. I don't know what Marvel projects they're working on because they canceled the Black Pan. I don't know what. Yeah, I don't know what's going on there. But anyway, this is bullshit. Yeah. So that's, you know, I have a lot more thoughts that I don't think I can say here. So we're going to move on. Yeah. Yeah. Well, with that being said. Yep.

[00:55:24] With that being said, we're going to move on to our last topic here, guys. It's time for the trend up. So let's talk about something that's trending. That is going to make me even more angry. Oh, great. You know what? This last story led right into this. I know, right? Mamma Mia. Here we go. Go ahead and shit all over this. Legendary Entertainment is making another play for Lionsgate.

[00:55:51] And this time, there's a $3.5 billion offer on the table. The studio behind Dune and a Minecraft movie has reportedly revived its efforts to acquire Lionsgate, potentially bringing some of Hollywood's biggest movie franchises under one roof. Are these mergers? Do you guys think these mergers are going to hurt or help Hollywood? What do you guys think of this? This is another fucking man. I feel like hurt at this point.

[00:56:20] I feel like having, like, two movie studios is probably not a good idea. Like, just two. They keep consolidating studios. I don't feel like that's good. These are fucking monopolies. Here's the thing, though. Like, before this news broke, would you have said anything bad about Legendary Studios? Honestly, no. Legendary Studios puts out really good movies. Right. Exactly.

[00:56:47] So, for me looking at this, I don't know the end game plan, but maybe it's Legendary and they're like, hey, we need to bolster our library of content. And if Lionsgate is available before somebody else swoops it up, wouldn't you rather see Legendary absorb Lionsgate versus, like, Sony or Skydance to come in and be like, okay, we'll buy a Lionsgate and become, like, this little thing of a bigger picture?

[00:57:18] Who knows what they're trying to do? Even if a multi... Sorry. But I'm saying, like, even if a multi-billion dollar company has good intentions, I don't think any of them do, but the ends do not justify the means here either. It's still a monopoly. It's still hurting the industry. It's still hurting, you know, creativity. Yeah. I feel like we're losing out. It's good as Legendary is in the films that they put out. I feel like we're losing out because here's the thing. This is where I get really scared.

[00:57:47] Legendary is a sub-studio. It is a smaller studio that usually partners with the larger studios, typically with Warner Brothers a lot of times. Mm-hmm. Yeah. And Legendary buys Lionsgate. So then now, what happens if Skydance just decides we're just going to buy you guys? And now it's consolidating more shit. Exactly. I feel like this is...

[00:58:10] The more consolidation that happens, the smaller Hollywood gets, you know, just kind of the more, you know, money-driven and not, you know, not audience-driven it becomes. Yeah. Right. Exactly. Which is bad for us. Interesting. Interesting. Well, I was wondering about this, and from what I read, is this really helps Legendary become like their own distributor.

[00:58:38] Because, like, just like what you're saying, they make some amazing movies for other studios. But now, if they have Lionsgate, maybe they have some of their own distribution routes, or they can put movies directly into theaters without having to piggyback with Warner Brothers or Sony or some other bigger companies to help distribute their films. Okay.

[00:59:32] That kind of thing, you know, they're creating another studio where, you know, we're getting these consolidation studios. They're like, hey, we are putting ourselves on an even footing, compete with these larger monocleos. Yeah.

[00:59:53] And that's what they're trying to do when they were trying to buy Warner Brothers, was they were trying to do that and become even footing, even footing studio with Warner Brothers and or discover. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I don't know. Yeah, I think there's multiple interpretations of what's happening here. So. That's good. Multiple interpretations of what's happening. Yeah. That's totally right. What is some of these notes? Like 20,000 titles?

[01:00:23] I don't know. I'm going to look it up. How long has Lionsgate been in business? Yeah. So, according to Bloomberg, Legendary has submitted a takeover offer valuing Lionsgate at $3.5 billion, including $1.9 billion in debt. The new cent Lionsgate shares climbing more than 15% on Tuesday, suggesting investors are pretty excited about the possibility of the deal.

[01:00:45] That's actually, I mean, I want to say that's good news, but I mean, the investors are the ones that are the people who are ruining everything anyways. Lionsgate. I will say this. I think Lionsgate is actually kind of hurting. No, they are. $1.9 billion in debt, and they're valued at $3.5. That's more than half of their value debt. Right. Right. Lionsgate controls a library of more than 20,000 titles and major franchises, including John Wick, The Hunger Games, and Saw.

[01:01:15] The company explored a potential partnership in 2025, shortly after Lionsgate separated from Starz in May of that year. That split turned Lionsgate Studios into an independently traded company, making it a more attractive acquisition target. For Legendary, acquiring Lionsgate would be a major step forward becoming a new independent Hollywood powerhouse and its own distribution operation and a massive library of established entertainment properties.

[01:01:42] Is this less of a takeover? Is this less of a takeover and more of a merger? And again, we were just talking about this take. Is this just a way to keep competition going within Hollywood? I love how easy money goes. RKO? Where's Randy Orton? RKO is a studio that if you don't know the Golden Age of Hollywood does not exist anymore. So they got bought out by MGM, which now is owned by. Well, think about that.

[01:02:12] I mean, Lionsgate owning Starz. Starz, pretty much Legendary is buying their own streaming platform. Even though it's not one of the most popular ones, they literally are buying their own platform. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, we will see how this plays out, I suppose. Absolutely. It's going to be interesting. Again, we will keep an eye on everything that's happening. Anything that pops up, we will let you guys know. Of course, we... Stay tuned. Stay tuned, guys.

[01:02:40] Of course, we want to know what your thoughts are. So guys, let us know in the comments what your thoughts are on Legendary buying Lionsgate. Do you guys think it's a good idea? Do you think it's going to hurt Hollywood? Do you think it's going to help Hollywood? Do you think it's creating more competition? Or do you believe that it is just more consolidation and more of a chance to make Hollywood a sore place? So with that all being said, that was our last story. And we're definitely over time right now.

[01:03:09] So let's go ahead and jump into our schedule. Ladies and gentlemen, Distance Nerding from 630 to 730. Our show that you are currently watching right now. Again, we went a little over. We are almost here, though. Thursdays, Distance Nerding interviews. Now, this week, we aren't going to be doing an interview. This week, we are doing Distance Nerding discussions. And we are going back to the horror tier list.

[01:03:35] So if you guys haven't been checking that out, me and Graveyard have been taking horror franchises and ranking them as far as where they belong between S tier. And I need to drink to watch this movie. Wait, James. I was going to say, it wasn't on Thursday. But Distance Nerding interviews was on Monday. Monday. Where you interviewed Chris from L.A. Comic-Con.

[01:04:02] And it was a great interview learning about L.A. Comic-Con behind the scenes. How he puts together a huge Comic-Con. And it was really cool. So kudos to you. Kudos to Chris. Yeah. So that's right. Chris Demelin was on the show on Monday from Kamikaze Entertainment. That's the company that puts on L.A. Comic-Con. So, yeah, guys, check that out. It was a really fun interview. We'll try and get some shorts ready, too. But the interview in itself was about an hour long. It was really fun. Check that out.

[01:04:32] My favorite part from the interview, he was like, you're like, hey, what's your favorite piece of memorabilia? He's like, oh, you know, that's weird. Let me think about that. Oh, let me guess. I'll say Avengers number one signed by Stan Lee. Right. What? Crazy. Yeah. Anyway. Yeah. He has a copy of Avengers number one signed by Stan Lee, which is nice. Oh, my gosh. I mean, you would think the guy put on a Comic-Con with Stan Lee. You would think he would have that. Yeah. Right.

[01:05:03] Again, if you guys are interested in that, go and check it out. It is definitely a fun interview. Of course not. Fridays. We typically do distance nerd and gaming from 630 to 830. Now, this week, I will be driving to L.A. to do L.A. Comic-Con. We'll be at L.A. Comic-Con doing coverage. So we will not be doing distance nerd and gaming unless you do wants to do something on the side with everybody. I will not be there because I have a Halloween thing. So there you go.

[01:05:33] So we will not be doing gaming this week, guys, but we will be back next week. And whether it's D&D or we are doing some type of game, we will be doing gaming on Fridays. So with that all to be done with everything here. Should do. Sir, give us your plug. Yes, I am at SHDU Studios. Pretty much everywhere for my music is at SHDU Music. All right.

And if you give us any emails, we will read it on the show. Yep. Yes. And pay attention to the Distance Nerding Instagram while Young Phil is down at LA Comic Con rubbing elbows with all the celebs and whatnot. Yeah, that's right. Typically during these kind of shows, we end up put there. So we will be doing coverage of the show.

[01:06:54] Hopefully we get some exclusives and we can set some stuff up down there. So we'll be having a whole bunch of fun. With all that being said, and we're done here, James, take us home, sir. And actually, before I would take you take us home, Bruce, buddy, it's bedtime. Go to sleep, Bruce. Go to bed. Go to sleep. What I want to do right now. Go to sleep, buddy. Yep. Go to sleep.
